Beautiful Garden throughout the year!Especially fall and springs are my favorite season to visit there as the weather smooths my comfortability! :)I like the spiral tower where I can see the garden from the top! Many weddings are taken place from this garden and it’s just lovely! Highly recommended ☺️Come and cheers 🥂
I didnt even know this Garden was there, so happy to stumble upon it walking around in the area. I had 45 minutes on my meter so I went in, only bummer was my phone was about to die and it started raining. There were more beautiful areas of the garden and a cool waterfall, but rain and dying phone prevented me from taking more pictures. Will definitely go again with my girlfriend when its a clear day. I really didnt mind the rain, though! Peace out!
As a Wedding Planner and Designer with Unveiled Bliss, I am so inspired by their Celebration Garden for a ceremony or reception. Imagine being surrounded by nature and forgetting you are in the heart of the city. Gretchen was easy to work with and we cannot wait to come back.
Beautiful Garden park next to the HMNS. Good place to stop in, a lot of good photo ops, places to sit and statues on the west side of people who influenced our history. Its a good place to find some shade and have a chat. Also there is a fair amount of parking at the entrance.
I had the pleasure of attending a wedding ceremony at the McGovern Centennial Gardens. As always, be facilities where pristinely and exquisitely maintained. The overall experience for this affair was nothing less than exceptional. This venue is a sight to see for any occasion.
Great park for a picnic with friends or family! I went with my mom and there was plenty of room for our picnic blanket and out stuff without bothering anyone else around. The park does close at 5pm which isnt bad but finding parking can be a hassle. Try to get there early to get parking!
The person working there was having a bad day. I was taking pictures of my daughter and granddaughter when he told us we had to leave because my granddaughter changed from her dress into pants. We were told we could use a cell phone, but not my camera. The park was full of cameras, and people changing from cap and gowns to dresses. He proceeded to follow us through the park ignoring all the other families that were doing the same thing that I was doing. I am not a professional photographer. But a grandmother that love to take pictures. Ive been in this park several times taking pictures and have never had a problem. I know the rules of the park. I had no props are other equipment other than my camera. When we transferred to my daughters cell phone we were asked to leave because my granddaughter changed her clothes.
Beautiful garden right in the Museum District and across from the Houston Museum of Natural Science! Theres plenty of benches, places with shade, and you can walk up the circle path of the hill and get a nice view of the skyline. I saw a few people sit out for picnics too and its close to the Japanese garden as well!
My go to place to walk and view the ever-changing flowers in bloom. Plenty of room to stay safe and enjoy the great outdoors. Its nice to sit and soak in the surroundings. I even noticed I pineapple growing today and discuss this plant with the gardener. I find the staff here so pleasent and informative anytime I have a question. Restrooms are very clean and well maintained. The statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr always remind me to be the change I wish to see in the world 🌍🌎🌏
The park was beautiful we enjoyed ourselves very much, the Japanese gardens are a must see. The train was fun to ride and they have a lake where you can go out out on pedal boats also. We also sat by the water on a bench very beautiful day, lots of people enjoying themselves and it was a Monday.
This is such a great space to explore with so many different types of garden, thoughtful and inspirational. I love the grand old live oak beside the arid plantings and the sculptures throughout, the refreshing water features and the multitude of spots to reflect and relax.
My second visit, and I find it fascinating, this place features a beautiful state of the art waterfall. Here you can find busts of most notorious men in world history.with their names and brief descriptions of their contributions.this is a great place to visit with kids, family and those furry friends.benches on nice spots to sit and enjoy all greens vegetation areas.this is a must visit place in Houstongreat to bring snacks, food, drinks and enjoy a walk ...
This place is by far so beautiful. We were going to have our wedding here just because of the gorgeous view but after finding out all the stuff we would have to rent and things due to it not being an all inclusive venue it just turn out to not be for us. So we just opted to take engagement pictures there instead.
Beautiful park, very picturesque, but the Security guard told us we couldnt take pictures because we had props and wardrobe accessories. My husband tried to put his phone on a tripod(prop) so we could both be in pictures and we were carrying our hats in our hands (wardrobe). We made the adjustment by wearing our hats and snapped pictures as we saw so many others doing.
I had seen pictures of the classic waterfall and went just for the bucket list, but these Gardens are so much more! There is a really informational and fun vegetable garden. There are shades areas, that even on a hot Houston day provide great relief from the heat. There several historical pieces to these gardens as well.
My wife and I have come to this garden since our engagement. It has gone through some major changes in the last 20 years, but it still has one of the best rose gardens around. A great place to take pictures, enjoy and nice walk, have a picnic, etc. Free parking, clean restrooms, well maintained gardens...what more could you ask for.
I pass it a lot going to the Zoo and finally got around to visiting. Parking costs on weekdays, but is free on the weekends. And with COVID, there wasnt too much difficulty finding parking.Pack a picnic and walk around this park for a while. I especially liked the Friendship Pavilion which was made and built by the Chinese government.
Man man man this was this is one of the beautiful cleanest Park I ever been to just so breathtaking relaxation I really enjoy sitting out there enjoying the atmosphere but theres one thing that I didnt care for that was people with dogs I think this area right here should be just for people not people with dogs because its such a beautiful and such a place to go and just relax you dont want to be smelling and seeing and looking at dogs used the bathroom.
It was a good place to go before wrapping up the visit of Houston. Nice water features all round. A slop of winding pathway leading to the top of the green man made hill where you can have a good view of surrounding. Beautiful landscape and many scrubs, flowers are planted all around the park. Theres also a Japanese Garden few minutes away with a large pond
Wedding pictures, 15 pictures, eventful pictures? You gotta come by to check this place out. There’s plenty of spots around you may like. Just an option for those in deseche if a picnic, pictures, date walks! The view from the top is the best, you can see everything around you within a 400-600 meter radius!
Beautiful Garden , visit during a calm and breezy evening. The garden has lots of good spots where you can get those insta pics , the place has mini farming at the side where they have numerous plants from many different places. Then after you are tired just chill infront of these two fountains ;).
This park has beautiful gardens, fountains, landscaping with light trails that is perfect for the kiddos. The hill with the spiral path is great for the elderly or children as it is easy to get to the top and the step waterfall is a very nice touch. Theres both shade and sun in the park and even a vegetable garden. I enjoyed seeing a pavilion from Taiwan and a Confucius statue from China. Ive come here a few times and every time is a different experience.
This is one of my favorite parks in Houston. I love seeing the variety of greenery, herbs, fruits and vegetables that can grow in the Houston climate and the park is always clean and well maintained. There are restrooms available and plenty of free parking! Its a great opportunity to get your kids out in nature and engaged with their surroundings. My one complaint is that the garden mound that you can walk up is closed half the time I try to visit.
Its interesting, but its not as attractive as the Houston Garden Club facility that it replaced. It feels too contrived and artificial. The previous facility had a snug and cozy feel about it. The feel here is that of students of a landscape architecture class trying to show off what they think they have learned. This place lacks a man-in-nature feel. Too much repetition of too little; poorly tended. Way too much Summer sun, not enough light shade, too few flowering plants of too few varieties and poorly arranged. It needs a complete do-over.
I had the pleasure of working a wedding at McGovern Centennial Gardens recently and I cannot say enough great things about this venue! Not only is it a STUNNING space for your ceremony and reception that is conveniently located in Houston, but the staffs kindness and helpfulness are outstanding! I will be recommending them to all our clients as I cannot wait to work there again.
My 1st visit ever with family & it was so awesome guys! Im late on this one. So serene-peaceful-flowers-beautiful-the water falls-the Asian gardens, Martin Luther King & Ghandi statures! The water coming down the huge hill. Like visiting another country! Go there guys. You will love it & maybe u have already been.Nov.26--taking new friends to visit. How beautiful! Another friend has cancer & she loved it-embraced it. Wants to return soon.
I went to a wedding at this venue on a Friday around 5:30pm. It was beautiful but the sound was horrible for two different reasons. There werent any speakers at the back of the wedding ceremony plus the sound from cars/people walking by was very clear. The venue size was perfect for the wedding. The venue was very clean and was appealing to the eye. 8/10 only because of the sound issues.
Its a very popular park for whole family in Houston. It offers a varíety of fruit trees, flowering plants and herbs from many countries. Its very interesting and educational. It has clean bathrooms, but few sources of moisture. We enjoyed the walk despite the sweltering heat
The Hawkins Sculpture Walk features sculptures of notable figures, including busts of Robert Burns (2002), Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca,Ramón Castilla, José Martí, Bernardo OHiggins (1992), José Rizal (2006), and Vicente Rocafuerte, as well as statues of Simón Bolívar (1977), Benito Juárez, and José de San Martín (1983) McGovern also features Dawn (1971), which was previously installed inside the entrance to the Houston Garden Center, as well as statues of Confucius, Mahatma Gandhi (2004), and Martin Luther King Jr. (2007).
The McGovern Centennial Garden is just as elegant as it sounds. From its beautiful flowers, to its admirable environment it is by all means a chill place to be. It offers plenty of running space for those that jog all over Hermann Park, it is also a great place for picnics with its well taken care of grass, and dog-friendly just make sure that if your pet does take care of business to clean up after. I often go to jog with my pups and not a problem occurs. It is a great place to study as well as to socialize with others. Totally worth going to and plan on heading back to jog some more.

2022-06-03The park was so beautiful and the staff was friendly. My daughter was curious what one of the people was doing and the worker explained to her how they grow their plants.I’m sad the fountain wasn’t on when we went but it was still all so beautiful to walk around and see. There are some fruit and vegetable gardens that were so awesome to look atI highly recommend checking this place out!

2021-12-07Nice Garden thats a part of the collection at Hermann Park. Came on an early Sunday morning, it was very quiet and not crowded at all. You enter to a nice set of head sculptures before arriving to the Mount. The Mount is a nice spiral walk up a little hill that has a waterfall until you reach the top. Once at the top, you have a nice view of the Garden, but also of other parts of Hermann Park. The Garden had a nice vegetable and flower garden you could casually walk around. There is also a pavilion where looks like they offer free classes to the public. This was a nice free Garden to see how to properly grow various vegetables and flowers.

2022-03-07Very nice park, with a great view at the top..Great to have a picnic, and take the family.Might be a bit crowded just because its right next to the museum and on a pretty day youll see people taking photos. Tons of events nearby.. The day we went was a Saturday after our trip to the museum of natural science but the park was currently setting up for a wedding there.Id definitely recommend anyone to come and check out this park..
