Memorial Park in other cities:
Honestly. I love the park during the day and I would want to include the night as well but with all due respect one would think with as popular as this park is they would put actual lighting for the play ground area and along the side walk throughout the park. Day and night is literally 2 different worlds. I wouldnt walk/run/take my kids there after night fall again anytime soon I can tell u that.
It looks well taken care of. It has so many hills for the kids to run up and roll down, trees to test their climbing skills, and a playground. It also has remnants of a bridge because back in the old days this bridge was over a man made lake. It would be great to have portable potties strategically spread out, but I guess that would take away from its beauty.
Had a patron come in from MP to a senior center saying that they refused to help him use the computer lab so he could renew his CDL license. Unfortunately I wasnt at the senior center at the time to assist him. He was furious at the lack of customer service at MP Library and was blatantly told no for no reason.
This is a really nice place. Been here several times before. This place is so big, that even when it takes a minute to find parking because of all the cars, you realize that that it isnt really crowded at all. Plus, this place is ALWAYS kept really clean. My son was taking some classes at the library they have here, so Ive been there as well. Just like all the other libraries, at least the ones Ive been to, Its well organized, clean, & the employees are friendly. My wife dragged me to the flower (rose) garden a while back, & I actually ended up enjoying myself. The garden really was nice. I remember being pleasantly surprised. I dont know what I was expecting, if anything at all, but it really was something. I think it was really close to the 1st day of spring. The weather was perfect, as it was March, it wasnt very windy, but there was a nice breeze, & the flowers and plants were blooming.Yes, this park is quite large, is ALWAYS kept very clean, & offers several amenities so that theres something for everyone.
An old established park with rolling grassy hills, playground, plenty of shade trees and picnic areas...family and dog friendly...in Manhattan Heights Historic district...ice cream vendors and yoga classes can be seen at times...along with the occasional slow moving train...also good for birding...annual Art in the Park event is held here an enclosed area...life is good here...
Good for walking, nice park for kids, scenery & lots of birds. Birds spotted include a pair of roadrunners, starlings, thrashers, woodpeckers, Capestrano swallows, mockingbirds, finches, a migrating family of Stellars Jays, 2 dove varieties, occasional Phoebes and of course sparrows and grackles. Many of the Google photos for Memorial Park containing roses are actually photos from the Rose Garden across Copia street to the east of Memorial Park. Review would be 5 stars except locals seem unfamiliar with the concept of the trash can.
Beautiful park. Great for picnics, birthday parties, walks, and youll normally find the ice cream truck nearby. You often see many people walking their furr babies as well. Library nearby. Inside pool and special event area you can rent. Its a great park. Also the famous rose garden across the street and a baseball field open to public.
A simply beautiful park that is extremely user friendly. Although theres parking available everywhere I prefer to park close to the library because it is Central to many of the parks amenities. Directly across the street there is a rec center with a indoor olympic size swimming pool that opens for use as early as 4:30 in the morning within all day use fee of 50 cents. Directly beside the rec center are two tennis courts. The large Park is built on top of a extremely hilly area of El Paso that is actually a reclaimed metal smelter from the very early years of the 20th century. Being filled with trees, benches and hills it is one of the best walking parts we have. The addition of 1/10 mile marker plaques mounted in the sidewalk makes it easy to follow ones progress.
This park has been an icon in El Paso as long as I can remember. I havent been there since 2004, but it hasnt changed. I enjoyed Roscoe burgers with my brother and sister-in-law because theres no dining in at Roscoes. Good food, good company and good memories. What more could you ask for.
This Park is a great place to go for a morning or afternoon walk. Most neighbors living close to the park go and exercise there for a while everyday. Its also great for a Holliday picnic or a weekend outdoors. Just the place for a cookout. Need to get in contact with mother Nature? Just the right place.
Memorial Park was a place back in the 70s that drew alot of people including teenagers and Low Riders of that time that was packed around the whole surrounding area of the park with so many cars, picnics that made the park very popular. But over the course of time things changed alot. Now its just a park that lost its popularity of that time and few people go to that park and Ive noticed the park is not maintained by the City Parks Administration and just do as they please. I just went there to eat lunch with a friend in the vehicle and after eating took off. Unfortunately this place lost its luster as a park.
One of the best parks in El Paso because of the size and the secluded feeling in some parts. The plants are well maintained, the paths are long or short, and it’s next to a library so I could check out a book and walk around while reading. There is a great play area for children as well!
I love this park! It has an area just for the kids to play, plenty of space for people with pets to walk around and yet still for others to just go enjoy nature without being disrupted. Plus its close to some tennis courts, an indoor pool and the public library. Great photo opportunities available too!
Nice, big, and very clean park. Plenty of space for dogs to run and play. Decent place for just the family fun, or special events. If I had family, Id bring them all here for the day. Theres tables and benches to sit and eat, but are hard to sit on. Im sure Ill return by myself just because of where its located and how clean the spot is. Id like to see what all I missed cuz I only walked through it.
Have you ever been to a nice park, if not then come on down to memorial park! It has a lot to offer liked memorials and parking. Witness the many trees, state of the art tennis courts, and the elementary school right next door. It is a pleasant little gem that is showered my many green grasses and a gorgious mountain just a view away!
This is truly an amazing park in El Paso. I grew up down the street. Great place to take pictures. Also a good place to go for a run. You have hills, a playground for the kids. Also a place in the middle of the park to sit and relax while you enjoy the scenery. What makes it even better is its right across from a flower garden. (Also a great place for pictures.)
I have nothing but fond memories of this park, and I remember as a kid my mom would take me here just to walk around. Its nice and huge and has an excellent scenery, really captivating the essence of a great park. However, at night there are a few shady figures that linger around
I like the playground and the little shadow on it. Its located across the street from the public library. There are portable restrooms next to the playground, which is very convenient. Friendly environment. Love the ice cream/snack/candy truck thats usually there in the afternoon. Just dont like to go in the morning or around noon because sometimes theres sketchy people hanging around.
Very nice park. Looks well maintained. The library however is way to small to meet the needs of the community. The building is very old, and does not have near enough space. However the staff members are fantastic. The city should stop worrying about downtown so much, and take care of the other areas of el paso.
Great green area! Rare for El Paso. Loved the trees and hills in the park, plus the Mountain View. However, the playground kind of sucked in comparison if you have smaller tots, this one is too dangerous for them to play on. Also I would avoid playing here in the summer. The park is not covered and the slides BURN. Also think it would be cool if they added a pond in the middle (think Central Park anyone?) since it’s in central EP
My favorite park. Nestled in a beautiful part of El Paso. Train runs by from time to time. Library there and a swimming pool across the street. Ive made a million memories here. Plenty of room for laying down a blanket and snapping photos with the Franklins in the background.
Arguably the best park in town. Its kind of a toss-up between Memorial Park and Album Park, otherwise known as Eastwood Park.Memorial Park is spread out, it has lots of trees and it is hilly. Potentially a very very beautiful Park. Theres one problem though, it is overrun with weeds. Unfortunately, just about every Park in El Paso is overrun by weeds.
Went to get tested for the covid and the staff there was just unbelievable, arguing amongst themselves and having us wait until 10:40 to start, when in actuality it was supposed to start at 9. We arrived at 6 am and there were already people in line. They should be ashamed of their behavior. I suggest to go to Marty Robinson on Railroad where the soldiers show so much respect and are very helpful and courteous.
My favorite park in El Paso. Plenty of trees and shade and some are good for climbing, big hills that are great to run on, squirrels are a regular sight here. Interesting houses in the area. Plus, theres a neat little library +bookstore, an aquatic center with a good pool for lap and recreational swimming, and tennis courts.
Best park in the Juarez/El Paso borderland. Is very pretty and very calm and safe. You can play tennis or just hang out by the trees and sit around the benches or in the grass. The playground part seems also popular with kids. The only thing missing is real restrooms, Ive only seen portable restrooms which are really not my thing, other than that is a perfect for a quiet evening alone or with friends. Love bringing my blanket and lay down to read in here.
Memorial Park in my opinion is the nicest park in El Paso. There are plenty of trees to provide shade for a picnic or just to sit down and relax for a while. Theres also a play area for the kids and a library in the same complex. Although the park is not very large there is plenty of space for everyone to stretch out and for playing a game of volleyball or soccer. The rolling hills covered with grass also add a unique flavor to Memorial Park. If you want to relax in the most wooded Park in El Paso. Memorial Park is the park for you.
Nice park that is centrally located in El Paso. The trains run right up against the south side of the park and can be incredibly noisy. The Library that is adjacent is a nice, quiet place to work. Bring your own toilet paper if you plan in hosting an event because the port-a-potties are almost always out.
Memorial park is one of the biggest and best parks in El Paso. You can always find a family enjoying a nice picnic or celebration. The locals are great, especially with structures such as our tennis courts, library, and swimming pool it becomes very easy to become immersed in the park atmosphere
I love this park, it is so relaxing and a great place to enjoy time with the family or even to walk with the dogs. They have a nice playground for children and theres almost always an icecream truck the with snacks and aguas frescas. Its also right by the railroad tracks so its nice to see the graffiti as the trains pass by.
Great place to walk, run, swim, bicycle riding, tennis or just walking the dog, and a library beautiful place for taking photos for weddings, family reunion, or just to picnic, you can enjoy all of this free of charge, free parking any where around the park. Enjoy. :)
Here for the Mighty Mujer Triathlon!! This event is well coordinated and a blast to attend. Besides the awesome athletes competing they have a ton of sponsor vendors selling food, shirts, photo booths and music! This park is very big with lots of open space and a kitchen and piñata area for parties. There is also a library, pool and tennis courts and baseball fields across the street. If you havent visited Memorial Park you should, a historic park in a historic area of El Paso.
Memorial Park continues to be a year-round well-kept Family park, and well located by a picturesque historical district of El Paso. This beautifully accented park is complete with an indoor heated-swimming pool, a library, tennis courts and more... Its the only park in El Paso with plenty of hills and a beautifully landscaped rose garden across the street; a real place to remember and a real keep coming back to, again and again.
Great park in Central El Paso. Nice area with swings and climbing sets. Raspa truck is always there. Unfortunately, could use some attention from the city to improve and beutify. Also, some people have never been taught to throw their trash in a can and its unfortunate to see so much trash around the park.
I just called the number on the site to get info on pool hours and rates... 6:36pm. The site states 6:00am to 10:00 pm but the emergency line person said they are open 6:00am to 7:00pm but the office is only open M-Thur. Id say the site needs to be updated for this location and now Im debating if I even want to try this place for the above reasons & I was looking at the 5:00am swim time but may not have it...a bit unhappy now.

2022-04-26It is wonderful to walk through the Roses and to know that other parts of the country still have snow. The grounds are well maintained and the volunteers working are always there ready to answer questions and give you advice on growing roses.

2021-09-06Today my family rented the Memorial Park private area for a Labor Day weekend family celebration. While we had been renting the Grandville Park city shelter for over 20 years, we decided to try an outdoor venue. Although it started to rain in the early afternoon, it turned out to be a beautiful day! Our family really enjoyed the facility-- with a oversized gazebo structure for seating and private restrooms as well. While the rest of the park is plagued with tons of weeds, this private area is pretty weed-free. I dont know if we will come back on a yearly basis, but this experience will certainly favor the possibility! :-)

2022-05-26Memorial park is much larger than what we initially thought! We initially went to the Municipal Rose Garden and kept driving a little further down the road. There are certainly places you have to pay for to get in but for the most part the majority of this park is FREE. There is a lovely playground for the children and grounds to stroll on with the shade of beautiful trees

2022-06-16One mile lap challenging because it is not flat course. Park elevation allows for >180° scenic view of city. New upgrades to pool & tennis courts a big plus. Winters can be fun to.UPDATE_JUNE 2022Panel selection committee asking area residents to join and provide input for park renovations. Please join via P&R.

2021-11-15Pretty big park. Its not in the safest side of town but its pretty convenient for everybody being close to the center. The grass isnt too watered but then again its El Paso. At least theres tennis courts.

2022-05-01We went for the Children’s Day celebration and parking was tricky! The celebration was closer to the library so there was a lot of hill climbing to do. Bring a stroller or wagon for little ones and your own shade if you plan on walking a lot. The playground area is nice but it is not shaded.

2022-05-23I live near by,so I like to walk/ jog at the park. Good cardio workout. Although, I find many people not from the area visit. No problem right? Well leaving their trash or pet feces is a problem. Just because its a public park doesnt mean one should disrespect it.

2022-04-07The scenery is beautiful. If you visit early you may see some wild life such as rabbits and squirrels. Our dogs enjoy walking the trails.
