Great selection of craft items, and inside framing area seems to have plenty of business. I actually enjoy being allowed to explore without having someone constantly asking me if I need help, because my planned projects change once I see all the awesome items around me and I get creative, and thats been my experience here; however, they have plenty of staff around so that when I do need assistance they are readily available. Overall I have had great visits. The wait time can get lengthy at checkout as at any craft store since most customers purchase multiple small craft items and have questions about the products and their prices at the register, so its standard wait. Happy crafting!
Never can find lamp oil or upholstery taks...wonder around store get sent to 5 different locations by 5 different employees..can be very discouraging .especially when trying to start a project

They had great disconts up to 70% off the regular price. I bought something I needed for my acrylic paintings. They always have great discounts. I recommend it.
I hadnt been into MJDESIGNS in, well, years lol. I was shocked by all the little things you could by that I didnt even know I wanted. This stop was to pick up some canvases for a few pieces of wall art that i order online. They were buy one get two essentially free. It was a steal. Ill be going back for some more in a week or so
This michaels is a mess. Disorganized, shelves are a wreck, and understaffed.
This is the worst Michaels lately, the management is a joke. The guy was screaming and cussing at the cashiers while there was a long line. I cant imagine how a grown man could treat kids like that. I asked for help and noone knows anything. The website says they are out of everything and they arent or says they have it and they dont. I havent had a good experience at this store in months.
Great art supplies. Very cost effective with sales and couponsBust customer service is atrocious!They had a whole shelf & some artificial flowers in the wrong section so they were supposed to be in sale if you read the sign. They wouldnt honor it.And if you need help finding something, good luck. If you find an employee, they act like your bothering them when you ask for help. Rather but online and pick up. Less hassle but you dont get to ship around and create as leisurely
I didnt find everything I wanted here due to the fact they were sold out of a few items ,and that is the reason for the deduction of a star. I actually prefer this craft store due to the fact it is much much cheaper than hobby lobby. this store also does not try to smother you with their religious message which is nice.
Michaels was okay. It was very well stocked but as usual the employees didnt know anything about what I was there for couldnt help me but at least he did try to find someone who could or would and was unable to so he came and tried himself to help. The whole trip was basically unsuccessful but I can say the embedded try to help me as best he could.
Cold pot pies. Wish I could reheat them in microwave but the foil pan foils that.
Curbside was easy even though they do not have marked spaces. Friendly service and they do not accept tips. Items were missing and the store did not adjust the payment. Edit:After 3rd contact I did get a refund without going to the store. Its an old and big company. Keep trying and you will reach someone who can resolve your issue. They get one star back.
Staff is nice but some of the customers that come in are a bit entitled believing that their time is more important than others. To the old bitty I encountered around 10am, I hope someone gifts you a bag of D**ks for Christmas, better yet look me up and I will gladly send you some! Bless you heart and have a wonderful year
Helpful staff! Clerk at register was able to help me with an item I was having trouble with on clearance! Jacqueline came over to assist and was very sweet and understanding!

First time at this Mesquite location. Very nice store, clean and a lot of space. I go to Michaels for my oil paints and canvas. And they have good coupons all the time to bring the cost down. Oils are pretty expensive so they help a lot. Awesome craft store.

This is the closest Michaels to me so I continue to go for things I need but the customer service is terrible. This time I asked the cashier about a item she wrung up cause the price didnt look correct on her register she got nasty with me, and said ( this for 2 GOSH up under her voice) I heard her very clear. Not happy with the sevice.
The customer service was horrendous! The line was very long, with only 2 cashiers. They were handling it pretty good at first, but after taking care of at least 6 people in front of me, when it was my turn one cashier went to wipe buggies and the other cashier,who was a manager, decided the handbaskets had to be put back at that very second. I was not the only person in line. There was another African American woman and a Hispanic man behind me, with other patrons coming. They never said a word...just acted like we were invisible. Then the manager left, leaving one cashier to wait on, now, about 7-10 people. When I requested the manager and asked her about the issue, her excuse was they are required to wipe down after each customer. I had plenty of time to see that it did not occur with the guests ahead of me. Horrible instore experience. I usually order online for pickup. I guess its back to Amazon I go. I have no desire to even utilize their online service, if this is what this company condones.
Customer service is non existent in this store. From management down the ladder, if you have an issue theyll multiply it by 10. THIS is why people do not frequent brick and mortar anymore. Also, do not under any circumstance order online to pick up, Amazon is easier and faster. This one star is not even deserving
I really like the little animal and dragon figures that they have. Its a great place to go if youre looking to be creative.
Smaller store than some but full of good deals. Always use the app for great discounts to go along with the sales. Clean store but it was raining and they had a leak, I had to mention it as they didnt seem to know water was falling from the roof. Staff was pleasant, but checkouts can sometimes take a few minutes.
The online ordering and pick was a nightmare. I ordered my stuff on Saturday they had it ready five days later. When I went to pick it up the lady on the phone just ask for my name and what was I driving. She didn’t even want my order number and didn’t even asked me. It took 45 minutes to pick up my order at curb side. What a hassle I never had this problem before. It usually take one hour to order and pick up not 5days and 45 minutes wait.
Was able to run in and grab what I needed real quick.
This is a very busy Michaels location. I see a ton of reviews saying that it’s always understaffed, as someone who has worked in retail before and has experience, some companies only give out a set about of hours and it depends on how much money the store makes to get more hours. The store is probably a mess most of the time because customers put back items wherever they want, and not on the correct shelves. And if you can’t ever find someone on the floor, the employees have online/curbside orders to do, assisting other customers and putting away items that don’t belong and trying to clean the store. I hope this review really makes you think about how hard they all work, especially during this rough time.
Michaels is a craft addicts crack. It is not hard to spend hours inside Michaels, in fact it is hard not to. So many creations waiting to be crafted. 😳
I like Michaels, I just wish that had more actual art tools. Not just hobby and craft stuff. Try finding a ceramic precision cutter, or a dremmel... you’ll see what I mean. Buy they have good things and this location has decent customer service. 🥳
Its 2:00pm, and I walked around the store twice to find an associate that could help me. This is the third time Ive visited this store and its been poorly staffed. If you want to open your doors and have consumers come in to spend, the very least you can do is have someone that can assist.

Michael’s is one of those craft and home decor stores that i never walk into, until i got dragged in there by my girlfriend. At first the store seemed like any store, boring, not so interesting to me. But as i went deeper into the store there were so many cool different things to look at, decorate with, and craft with. Now i wont get upset if i have to walk in there again. if you want to decorate your home i recommend you to check out a Michael’s first and i assure you wont walk out the store empty handed .The cutest detail that I personally liked when i walked in Michael’s was that during pride month the store had many LGBT flags , and i thought it was a very nice way to for them to say that they are accepting of loving whoever you want.
Very clean store with a nice chill atmosphere. The employees were friendly, and helpful. The selection is always good. We got exactly what we needed for a fantastic Halloween centerpiece.

Kinda hard to find certain things and i only saw 2 staff members the whole time with a very busy store. For a while there was only one cashier and the line was backed up all the way around the barrier out into the entryway. The store is well stocked and wasnt too messy given the circumstances this day
I really love crafty things, when I walked into this store I was shocked and overwhelmed by the fact they have everything but I gave this store a 4 star it could of been 5 but they didnt have enough molds for epoxy resin but I got the last diamond
My son and I had some time to kill before our movie so we stopped at Michaels to look around. They had a great selection of Halloween decor and arts and crafts supplies. I havent been to Michaels and sometimem I didnt realize just how well they had redone their stores. The staff were extremely helpful. We will definitely be visiting again.
Usually a good place to look for deals. But depending on the time of day that you go there the customer service can very. The last few times Ive been here its gone downhill, Not very helpful in finding items even though you have the item number photos. They point towards the isle direction walk away.
Good selection. The only drawback is they have the slowest check out of any store I have ever been too. It take at least an hour to get in the store and out with one item.
Always has best items/products for crafts and anything you can think of to make. This time I needed a large frame and back colored board to display a picture of our daughter passed away in June. The service was Excellent and her helpfulness put me at ease of my choices.
Nice, clean, well stocked store. Only problem is customer service. I have never been asked if I need help while in the store. Actually, I dont even see employees around except for the cashier. Framing department is rude and never available to either pick up or place an order. Love the store just not the rude/condescending employees. Will be shopping somewhere else from now on.

The manager was very kind & understanding about returning online purchase. This particular type was not eligible for return in the store but because calling customer service @800# said that I could he worked with me and processed the return WITH A SMILE. Very kind & gracious. I was thankful.

I went there looking for cross stitch kits, but they had very few, and all were little ones. They didnt even have books with the patterns anymore either.
Michaels is always great. Has everything a crafter can need aside from by-the-yard fabric. IMHO the best part of this place is the super-friendly employees, and the pen/pencil section. You can get almost any kind of individual pen, pencil, or marker.While Im happy they have individuals, I do hope they get Posca pen sets someday.
Well organized. Customer service was quick and my questions where answered. One item I was looking(wallpaper)for but they didnt have any, they suggested something else but I had to pass on it. Otherwise. Great.

It was my first time going to this store. It was well arranged with a variety of materials. It was very difficult to find an employee to assist you out on the floor. Had to walk around the store to find some assistance. Maybe they were short handed Im hoping

I was looking for artificial flowers and greenery and found what I needed. They have a large supply as well as yarn, jewelry making items, frames and framing services, baskets, etc. My only complaint is lack of help if you need it.

Went for tye dye, thought Id try it on a whim. I thought the selection was weak and price was high, but didnt know. Found out after purchase Michaels was not a good choice. Maybe if I could have talked to someone who knew something about tye dying in the store but was on my own.🤨

I always enjoy Michaels. My only somewhat negative comment is that the hours havent been updated. At the time I went on a Saturday, it still stated open until 9, but their hours are actually until 10.

Micheals was fun! My hubby and I were just walking around looking and found exactly what I needed! Ear ring Back thingy-ma-geegies!! You know those things on the back of your ear ring that always gets lost and can never ever find?! Then you end up using a tiny piece of eraser instead or unable to use them again?! Well Micheals has a whole bunch of different kinds if these things! I found a whole little container with 4 different back thingy-ma-giggies!!! I can now fix all of my ear rings! Oh and my hubby found the candle warmer so we dont have to light it. Its not that we dont like to light it, it is appartment policy not to light candles inside. Weird, I know but hey I did sign the lease so ..Also Micheals is pretty strong! We were in the building when it started raining like the sky was falling! We didnt even feel it inside. All their employees were calm, nice and alert the whole time. I felt secure. Thank you Micheals employees you all rock!

There was a shot guy in the sky here it really scared the bageezeess outta me thank God I could run I to Micheal and get a good rest after taking some of my panic meds everyone was real u understanding there at Micheal they did make me try womens clothing on and wear lipstick and take pictures other than that it was great!p.s.i threw up several times in the restaurant nearby in the urinal I did clean it up with my bvds I tore off in a rage giving myself a super wedgy a child in there seen it and his father took him out in a sweaty panic.
Considering its near Christmas the 50% off Deals they have are pretty good right now. If youre looking to create, craft, build, design, or fix something this is the place to go. They have paint,beads,tape,glue,paper,colors you name it! You can create what you want just go to michaels!
Good materials but they need to be in more bulk the yarn. Because sometimes when you need more of the same one you have to go look somewhere else for it. I wish I could get all of it in one place.

Great as far as stock and variety, but compared to other stores prices for the same items are way too high. Most of the time the items sold here are sold for about double the price.
No stars. They cancelled my pick up order and charged my card I called and explanation was that in 48 hours they will reprocess my order for pick up. What a joke.

2021-10-31This store is absolutely falling apart. Their stuff above the shelves is stacked so dangerously high I felt endegared just walking past it. The aisles were a mess and looked like they hadnt been touched in several weeks. The two employees I was able to find were too busy on their phones to assist anyone. They also had several pallets of freight and trash just sitting at the front! Its a shame to see this store go downhill so fast from a change in management.

2022-04-12I’ve gone several times and have not had a good experience yet. I ordered something online and went to pick-up. The guy was looking in the wrong cabinet that was alphabetized. I told him to try the other and he gave me the most horrible look and said I was wrong and kept looking in the wrong cabinet. About 10 minutes in, he called someone and when they looked in the cabinet I mentioned it was found.Today I went in and purchased some items. I grabbed a sensory kit that I thought said was 50% off. When it rang up, I noticed it wasnt 50% off, I asked if it was 50% off and was told I needed to walk all the way to the item and take a photo of the sign and then bring it back. I was incorrect and absolutely would not have asked had I known, but I had to walk over and take a photo rather than the staff even saying “it would have rang up that way sorry” or just knowing sales or having their sales handy. When I got back and told her it was my mistake, she wasn’t kind about proving me right when all it would have taken was a mention that I misread.Staff is never friendly and it’s always a big mess.

2022-03-21Well the shelves are bare, some department more than others. Some employees should have more training. I walked the whole store and not one of the employees asked if I needed help. When I asked one if they had what I was looking for, her reply was, I dont know, maybe you should try looking. I left my basket sitting right there and left the store. The manager should be replaced or have more training. I probably wont go back

2022-03-19Do not bother shopping here. Apparently their inventory is “not for sale”. I went for some paint because my wife wanted some rhinestones. She found them in an open cardboard box at the base of some empty display shelves and figured they just had not restocked yet. In the midget of looking through them a very rude employee started chastising her for looking through the box and rudely informed us that those were “not for sale”. So…I guess this Michael’s is trying to go out of business by not selling inventory? I was only there for paint because my wife wanted to go. After this experience I doubt we will be back. So this rhinestone sale (and future ones) will go to Amazon or AliExpress. As to future pain sales, well Amazon sells that too and probably cheaper. Like I said; only went because my wife was looking for something. So my future paint business will probably go to Amazon as well. This is a perfect example of why brick and mortar stores are going out of business. I can get yelled at in a brick and mortar store because the inventory right in front of me “isn’t for sale” or I can have pain free easy shopping on Amazon and not burn $5 a gallon fuel doing it. I wonder which one I’m going to pick…

2022-01-14I walked around to the 2 places where I thought the item I went for might be. After about 10-20 minutes, I saw 1 employee, who at my initial call out to seemed to try to ignore me. I followed behind and called out again at which time she turned around and said, I would probably need to make the item myself! 😯 I continued on my own and found something comparable to what I asked for all on my own (even though I found just the 1 package, I looked at the whole section where I found and started looking in The black storage bins under each section, but Im 62yo and my body wouldnt let me crouch for long, so I left!)

2019-10-23Cashier service was excellent. We went to the North Town East boulevard mesquite Texas location. It was very difficult to find a staff member for help their prices are difficult to read if there are any prices on their items at all! Store was not that neat or clean and had no pizzazz to their arrangements just saying. Their paint product prices are higher than most other stores. Ill continue to go to hobby lobby as my first choice. However they dont really have good paint selection. an asset to Michaels is they carry the brands of craft paints I like and especially the colors that I like. Store seems to be understaffed definitely.
