Midas in other cities:
This was my first trip to Midas. It was on a Saturday, so my regular shop was not open. These mechanics worked fast, and I am positive that I was not over charged. They found the problem and just fixed what I asked. No questions, no push back, and no guilt trips. I will definitely be using this shop again for my mechanical needs!
Avoid this place. Came in for a brake inspection, I decided to take my vehicle somewhere else. Minutes after I left my wheel hub flew off down the road. After further inspection I realized that my wheel bolts hadn’t been tightened. I came back to get a refund but they denied it was them, even though they were the only ones to mess with it. Never going there.
Dont do your carbreak here.Never come back to this Midas. A year n half I come this Midas for the break issued. Theyre inspected my vehicle ad they recommend to replace all 4 the rotors and all the pads .they said lifetime warranty I paid $900.after that couple months I heard noise everytime when pressed down break padel .I come back to this Midas then they do something and said it good now but its stil have lots of noise when hit the break. It happens more then 4 timethat I bring it back but they said I have to replace rear rotors and pads.when you get to replace all of rotors and pads it should be at least 3 years. dont do your break here the dealership is better priced and quality.
My car has been sitting at Midas since September of 2021 with no work being done. Paid for a 5K engine with nothing to show for it. Mario Munoz Regional Manager spoken to at 11227 Culebra Rd in San Antonio keeps giving my family the run around stating that he has been talking to the vendor and keeps assuring us it will arrive week after week and nothing shows up. Cant get my car back because they already removed the original engine and stated it cant be put back on. There was also a fraud charge done on my account that Mario acknowledged was supposed to be charged to the Midas business account, not my personal credit card. He refused to correct his and just told me to pay it off until its fixed. Fraud claim by Synchrony was investigated and approved. Visited him on December 9th where I was upset and he ended up cursing at me and kicked me out of the store with no resolution. When we contacted the vendor directly, they stated they had no engine on order despite what Mario has been telling my family. Paid off 5k with nothing to show for it minus a car which is still in their possession.
If you have vehicle issues I highly recommend this location. Everyone there is super helpful to the customer and each other. I had suspension issues and they replaced my rear shocks and fixed my fuel issues. I basically had the whole shop helping with my truck. They help each other to get the job done right and they include you in the experience. Really awesome shop
I was a new customer here coming with a Groupon. Right when I stepped to the desk I was NOT greeted with kindness, it automatically seemed like the member was annoyed with me during the whole interaction. After taking my info she asked to see the Groupon. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT SCREENSHOTS OF GROUPON VOUCHERS. After noticing that the Groupon was a screenshot they never even attempted to scan the voucher or search up the order number to ensure that the Groupon does indeed work. After I apologized for not knowing they don’t accept Groupon screenshots, they proceeded to not make eye contact with me when answering; acting petty as if I was trying to scam them or waste their time on purpose. So I wasted money on a Groupon and got horrible service with ZERO help, assistance, or solutions. Maybe the establishment is good, but the young lady at the front desk does NOT have the attitude to be greeting people.
Had to share a great experience we just had... My husband took his car here to have his brakes checked/replaced and they treated his car with the utmost respect -- from digging out the wheel lock device (located underneath the trunk floorboard) and putting it back exactly as they had found it, to tapping back in a bumper/tow cover that had come loose days earlier, to topping off his fluids -- they really took great care of his car.It got even better when he arrived to pick up his car and found out that they gave him the platinum level parts for the price of the silver level. The manager used a coupon that he had to give him that upgrade. You dont see this kind of care and thoughtfulness happen everyday...but at Midas we did!Thank you Midas for an awesome experience!
We have been taking our vehicles to them for almost the past two years now and it feels like family there! They are family run business and always go above and beyond to take care of us, currently my husband is deployed, and I pulled in with my 5 year old daughter cause my transmission started going out just across the street. T.J. and the owner took care of everything for me, even arranged to get me a car rental pick up, I cant even express how grateful I am for their help today! They made a very stressful day a lot easier to deal with and Im super thankful to have them just down the street when I need them! Weve had previous work done on my husbands car, oil changes, tires, battery replacements, an engine replacement, and every time they have helped keep the costs low and giving us great customer service! We recommend them to anyone looking for a good honest local business to deal with!
I went in because of a coupon for an oil change that includes 4 wheel tire rotation all for $49.99. I asked to make sure on pricing and the gentleman told me it would be an extra $19.99 so I showed him the coupon that is valid until 4/26/2021, he didn’t say anything back and set me up with the oil change coupon. They did not preform a tire rotation so I brought it up again and he told me they would not honor it. Okay. Still needed the tire rotation but no y’all didn’t even ask. Cool. I will not be coming back.
Avoid this place AT ALL costs! Short version - Bad management and triple charging.Went in for an oil change and diagnostic on my fuel gauge. Was called later saying the fuel pump needed replaced, would cost 1,300 to do so as the part itself is 979. I got the part number and checked MULTIPLE places to get the part, and could not find a single place charging over 372. The exact place I was told was 979 charged 372, and another place charges 248. When I asked about it they said I understand yea.I went into the store to pick up my car and try to talk about if I were to buy the part myself and bring it in if we could cut a deal, but the experience in the store was horrendous. The cashier didnt know what was going on, so I said I want to pay for my stuff and talk about the fuel pump he went to grab it and the manager Thomas said We already talked just ring him up for the oil change and leave the rest. When I brought up my phone to show where I was getting my pricing at the manager put in headphones, crossed his arms, and leaned on the back desk.I will NEVER return to Midas as whole, but especially this location. I have had great experiences in the past at other locations but being charged almost triple for a part is inexcusable.
Went in to get an oil change and was thinking I was gonna wait at least an hour because it was so busy, Jake took care of my car and was incredibly fast and helpful. He’s very informative and helped me with all my questions. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you for being so fast and efficient!
Great place to get your car needs fixed. The staff was friendly and the manager was very nice! The mechanics worked quick to get out car out quickly. We also found out that one of the managers friends has the same name as my friend! The manager also looked like one of our friends. Funny experience, but a great location!!
Worse place to go. Was told my a/c would be fixed in 1hr. When asked about my car 2hrs later rather than apologize they tell me I was only being charged 1hr of labor as if to say sit down and wait we are doing you a favor. 4 hours later they finish and the excuse was more work than they realized, couldnt be straight. First time last time- I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
I love the friendliness of everyone there. The services provided are priced fair and the employees are friendly and fast. Richard makes sure that you know exactly what the problem is and will even allow you to see for yourself to make sure you know the work really needs to be done. TJ is super friendly and just a joy to be around while waiting for your vehicle. Thanks guys for all you do! 🙂
Took my vehicle to this location for a wheel alignment and found out my car needed new suspension, bearings and all that other mess. They said they fixed it and less then a few months Im back with the same problem. They took it in again and had my vehicle for over a month waiting for a part to come in. When I got my vehicle back it was robbed while in their care and everything was stolen from mail to phone cables and even masks I use for work, guy said he would get with his boss and havent heard anything in over a month. They also lost my keys to the car and Im using its 200 dollar backup till they eventually replace it (still waiting).they replaced the part and tires it but less then 2 months the exact same issue is happening and its shredding tires and now this is where Im at. Will say the employees are very nice just the end result is very vexing
Firstly I want to preface this review saying that I used to work at a shop like Midas so I’m aware of words and phrases used to get sales. Richard was the guy that helped me and I’ve been coming here ever since. Ask for Richard because he’ll take care of you. He’s honest and fair and took care of me when my ac compressor went out. He didn’t try to railroad me but quoted me $350 less than the dealership. I bring all my cars here for service. Sean McElroy, is the current store manager and he’s also a straight shooter who won’t take advantage of you but give you an honest and fair quote and get the work done to the highest possible standards. He runs a tight and very effective ship. If you’re looking for a shop you can trust for regular maintenance or even bigger mechanical repairs, you’ll be in good hands here.
I must say i certainly should have read the reviews before i took my car to get serviced here. I took my car for maintenance on my brakes and a tune up. I was talked into paying $2700 for the work that was done and ended up with more problems then what i originally went in for. Not only that i had to take my car back 6-7 times because there was always something wrong with it when it was suppose to be fixed. Im COMPLETELY disappointed with the service provided here. One of the employees name Shawn is a really cool guy, but the team i just dont thinl they lnow what they are doing with cars here. Sad to say i would NOT recommend this business to anyone. Sabe tour money because they already got mine.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!!! Keep reading to get the full story on when I stopped in to get a state vehicle inspection on a 5 year old vehicle.I was told my emergency break was malfunctioning. They quoted me $132 to get it reset so I could pass the inspection. Just to get the inspection done, I agreed for them to do it. When they got it up on the lift, all of a sudden, my particular vehicle could not have the emergency brake reset and that I would need to have new pads and rotors installed to correct the issue. That was quoted at at least $340, but they would have to check things out and that could increase.I said give me back my car and Ill take it to the dealer. Guess what. The dealer did an extensive inspection on the brake system and confirmed that absolutely nothing was wrong with it. The dealer highly recommended staying away from this particular Midas location. The maintenance supervisor told me I was not the first person to come to them with this kind of concern from this location.Update: I responded to the corporate request for information regarding a resolution. I guess well see if they are as shady as the location I visited. Is it expected systemic behavior???Update 2: A month after responding to the owner via their website, I have yet to be contacted. So I take it the response was just to try and make them look like they care what people think while they lure in the next victim. Unless you just want to throw away your money, then steer clear of this place. Just in case you do want too throw away your money I can be reached at... Lol.
Dont normally write reviews, but I was really impressed on Midas Tech. I took my vehicle 3 different places, and they could not get my wheel alignment done correctly. Spoke to John and he assured me it would be done up to specs. Left there very satisfied with there work. Will definitely return for my maintenance needs. Thank MIDAS Staff for a job well done!
Clean, organised. Staff was knowledgeable and professional. Prices are upfront and posted. Once they do the inspection, they walk you through everything. I did research before bringing my vehicle in to make sure they didnt try to scam me, and they were honest with what needed fixing, what could wait as well as telling me why.Work is guaranteed with a nice warranty. They offer financing if you need it, even if you have no credit. They offer a 10% military discount too. Overall, I trust them with future business and recommend them.
I was patient, understanding and friendly through a near month-long ordeal. I received every excuse imaginable: were waiting on parts, waiting on the warranty companys approval, waiting on the techs to come in, waiting for an adjuster to inspect my car, etc. It was all untrue. I called my warranty company today just to get some feedback about the process because I havent been told much, and because I havent received copies of the estimates/invoices I requested. I caught them lying through through their teeth. They received approval over a month ago and have been making it up as they go along. I was charged a deductible when I went to pick my car up the first time, and another deductible when I picked it up for the second time. Only one deductible was due per the warranty company. I spent nearly three weeks waiting on parts because their tech couldnt install parts without frying them. Theyd tell me that the problem was fixed, Id walk over and lo and behold, the problem wasnt fixed. I cant begin to describe how messed up this whole experience has been. We had to call in favors to get back and forth from work while these guys were lying about delays. I walked to this place several times, a mile each way, after being told that the work was done and the problem was solved when it wasnt. All for a job that should have taken 30 minutes to an hour.
I have been using this location for about 3 years for service on my vehicle for oil change and front end alignment. On my last visit, I was disappointed to find another person running the shop. After making an appointment for 7:30 the following morning, I was disappointed when I arrived and was asked ( by the same person) what I was in for. Apparently he did not keep any information from the day before. He said he hadnt had any coffee yet so he couldnt remember. His uniform was filthy, ( I was there before they opened the doors) so I know it wasnt form working that day. I was the only customer there and they did not pull my vehicle in the the bay for over 20 minutes. An hour later they completed the oil change and moved my vehicle to another bay for front end alignment.1 1/2 hour later the work was completed. When I was reviewing the bill, I questioned why I was charged for 9 quarts of oil when I had provided 1 quart of additive. I was told thats the way the computer works. The book calls for 9 quarts so thats what they do. After my protesting, he adjusted the charge.I feel some attention might be required at this location from the quality control people of your organization. John is his name
Excellent and prompt service, I am very meticulous about who works on my ride, I was recommended by a family member to take my car to this location. I was in need of new tires and a front end alignment. After one simple call my tires were ordered and ready for install the very next day! Took it in and after a very short time my new tires and alignment was done, everyone who worked there were most helpful on answering any question I had, great price and great service, what more could one ask for, highly recommend anyone who is looking for good automobile maintenance to give these guys a call and stop on by! I will for sure be a returning customer!
AVOID this place.I went to this place to fix my engine. I was seeing some oil leakage and seen smoke coming from the front of the car coild. They said ot is the valve cover gasket and got it replaced for $399! I mean, $399 to replace a valve cover gasket on a 2007 toyota camry. It is insane. Then they told me it got fixed and everything is good. After 10 min of driving it, the car overheated and engine was making a knocking sound. I could only get myself to the house and park it there. I can not even move the vehicle to get it to a mechanic shop.If you value your money and your vehicle, never go to this place.
I’ve left a five star review in the past because they offered a free oil change for it, and at the time, I thought they were great; that was until I found out they were ripping us off HARD for repairs. They were suggesting maintenance that my car did not need and overcharging for work that did need to be done. I don’t know if it’s just because I obviously did not know much about cars and they pulled one over on me, but either way, that’s not okay.
My 20 yr old daughter when in to get the $19.99 oil change special, only to find out that they charge her $60 for a full synthetic oil change when she asked for the blend. Its sad and disgusting when people take advantage of young females. I highly dont recommend this place. After i spoke to Mario the manager who sold her the oil that is not even recommended for her car he refuse to do the right thing.
I am new to doing reviews and this is my first time. I came to this neighborhood Midas on Christmas Eve right at their closing. I was heading out of town and my car was having trouble starting... 2008 ford fusion. They not only still happily took me in, but stayed a little after closing to make sure my car was starting properly for my trip. To top it off, after inspection it was only a loose battery terminal and they tightened it for free. I highly recommend them and my car has had no more issues starting.
Aug 2019 I had my breaks serviced on my 2008 Town and Country at Midas 11227 Culebra Rd outside loop 1604. I had the front rotors replaced and bought into the lifetime break pad offered at the time. Aug 2020 I returned because I was hearing a break wear indicator screech coming from my vehicle. One of the mechanics took it for a test drive and when they returned, performed what they called a break inspection. They put my van on the lift , removed all the tires and them came to get me from the waiting area. They proceeded to tell me that the screech I was hearing was from a bad rotor on one that they replaced during the break service in 2019. I told them I would like to see the wear on the rotor and he took me to my vehicle and proceeded to try and convince me that the front rotor was bad and needed to be replaced. I examined the rotor surface and questioned his opinion. I questioned his diagnosis and when he insisted, I told him I want to get a second opinion. At this point his confident demeanor changed and he began stating, there is no safety concerns with my breaks. He stated the back breaks have about 20% life left on them and I could drive it safely with no issues. I had my breaks checked by an independent repair person who found nothing wrong with the rotors on the front breaks, but the rear drivers side break wear indicator was activating. Upon further inspection he found that the break pad was wearing unevenly and this was why the indicator was sounding off. He found the caliper was defective, replaced it and installed new break pads on the rear both sides. Sound is gone! I would not trust this shop to your breaking safety.
Went to Midas today for an oil change. My tech Michael let me know that my tires were way beyond their prime. And even though the tread was decent my tires had been on since 2010. And he showed me on the tire where to find that out. Life expect of tires is 5 years. And it’s 2018. The manager also took the time to explain my brakes and giving me a time frame as to when they need to be changed since I let them know I was on a budget this month. They weren’t pushy and they really took the time to walk me around the vehicle so I had a better understanding of the truck I had just bought a month ago. Great customer service and even better experience. Thank you Midas!
On January 2, 2021 I went to This Midas location on Culebra San Antonio, TX. To have oil change through Donlen ( Donlen is a Fleet Company) they did NOT call me when it’s done ( happen 3 times) so I have to pick up my vehicle on Monday, because they closed on a Sunday. They didn’t reset my oil to 100%. Few days later, my Fleet company call me to notify that I need an oil change ( I suspect something was wrong) so I went and checked my oil gauge. Sure enough! My oil was never change. Please be aware of this location. Midas, I know you can read my post. I highly recommend you not charge for the oil change. Donlen is a big fleet company. They will sue your business. Just my recommendation.👎👎👎 (white Chevrolet Silverado)
Outstanding customer service! Outstanding work! They strive hard to not only earn your business but also to reap the rewards of positive word of mouth from their customers. The service manager John and his team are more than just products of corporate training, they truly care about the customer being satisfied and safe on the road. After having major repairs done on my vehicle and a plan in place to have everything completed, they cared enough about their work and my satisfaction that they invited me back in 3k miles for a free oil change so they could ensure their work was top notch. John and team, you guys stand head and shoulders above the competition. Thank you!
If I could give 0 stars I would. The manager Mario has been dishonest with my husband and I, and he is not upholding his end of the contract. Our Chevy Tahoe has been in his shop for over 3 weeks to have the engine replaced with a remanufactured engine. We signed the contract, paid, and was told it would be about 7 days. 7 days later, they said they were working on it but it would be ready on a specific date. 2 weeks later they said the new engine was in the car, so my husband went by to take a look and find out what the hold up was. When he got there the manager working that day said they had a used engine waiting to be put in, but they weren’t putting it in yet because it had a huge bolt stuck in it, and they needed a special tool to get it out. Used? My husband said , can I look at it? And he said of course. Upon inspection it was found that this engine was in bad shape, obviously used- which the manager working that day confirmed. When my husband called Mario- the GM- he said no it was no used, it was exactly what we said, etc. We even took pictures to another shop where they confirmed there was no way it remanufactured - and that is was indeed used. Mario swears up and down it was remanufactured, but he said it had old connections on it- and he’s not sure why. Just sad that he won’t admit that he was overcharging us and putting on an old motor in our car, charging us more. Now he said he will “make things right” but getting us a remanufactured motor, but we’re going to have to pay almost $2000 more, and now he won’t warranty it, and has stated he’s putting our old motor parts back on it. I’m absolutely at a loss as to what to do. We emailed a higher “manager” and Mario just called us back and said stop trying to reach out to anyone, I’m the only person you can talk to- no one else can help you. This is ridiculous, I want what we signed for- and I will not pay more. I want to be reimbursed for coming on my 4th week in a rental car- at over $300 a week. This is outrageous that I can’t get anyone higher to call us and help us and make this right. We just want what was promised, timely, and now to be compensated for this as stated above. I hope and pray someone calls us back to make this right. Our car is still there, is still not completed.
Stay away from culebra location. They don’t respect their coupon. The front-desk guy refused to put the barcode number manually and they don’t have barcode scanner. I was asked to show the “redeem button otherwise they cant apply it” And they don’t even know how to navigate to it!! After I spent 20 min downloading the app and creating an account( since I purchased as guest ) to figure out how to get where they want. The manger and the frontdesk guy didn’t even bother to apologize. The manager said “its not our problem. Its you and Groupon. Groupon just take your money without tells you how to apply it” I explained that its your problem cuz you don’t have barcode scanner. And groupon stated to show the voucher on the phone not the “redeem button” plus you are the only location that not willing to apply the discount by showing the voucher on phone. He repeated it again “its not our problem”
I had never been to a Midas shop, they made my first visit a good one! The staff is very well behaved and didnt give me any problems. Got straight to the point and took care of what needed to be done, I highly recommend this shop and employee Erik Rodriguez to anyone needing vehicle repairs done. Very respectful kind man, he took very good care of myself and my vehicle
I want to start off by saying that I was so impressed with the level of professionalism and attention to detail by this amazing store. The management and workers where a delight ! Best oil change I’ve had, they really went over all the paperwork very attentive. Will definitely be a returning customer !
Im not usually one to leave terrible reviews but unfortunately, I believe the situation warrants it. A few weeks ago I went in to get my oil changed. I sat there for almost 2 hours while it seemed everyone else that came in after me left before me. It didnt bother me too terribly much, a bit irritating but not enough for me to complain. My complaint comes afterwards when less than a week goes by and my car starts making weird noises and we noticed oil marks in our driveway. My husband checked the oil and there was hardly any in there. We took our car to the dealership (after my husband ran to get oil in a different vehicle because my car was nearly empty) and the dealership had it up for approximately 5 minutes (if that) before they called us out to show us that the technicians at Midas had neglected to tighten the drain plug. Literally, the tech at the dealership was able to show us how loose it was with his fingers. I called and spoke to the manager who was very nice and he said hed call me back. A week and a half went by with radio silence so I proceeded to go up there (Im pretty pregnant and find it hard to get out of the house), after going up there and speaking with the manager again who has no recollection of talking to me on the phone, said he would once again get into contact with me. Its been two days. I understand that they might be busy, however Im a firm believer in customer service, its been almost 3 weeks since this incident. Ive used them once before and my wait was about 3 hours. I wont be going back there. Its a brand new car and my engine could have burnt up had we not caught it when we did.
They had a promotion for $19.99 oil change outside the store on a huge sign and they told me they ran out of conventional oil. Then they tried to scam me by saying they only had synthetic blend and full synthetic. Never going back for an oil change. There are two brothers or relatives that don’t know what they are talking about, they had told me that my a/c line was leaking when clearly it was my windshield fluid that was leaking and I told them ahead of time.
We were there Saturday for brake inspection and possibly repair. Ended up staying about 6 hrs by our choice we didnt have another car to go home with. Repairs were done along with other stuff our car much needed. Next day we heard a sound again coming from our breaks they took care of us quickly and with a professional manner. Hence I was upset after spending $$$$ and something was still not right. But in the end the manager took care of us at no cost and said we always like to keep our customers happy. I will definitely be back and highly recommending others. Keep up the he great job guys.
Really good experience! I have been to other places for oil changes but here at Midas they make me feel comfortable that my vehicles is in good hands. Anthony and Charles are very helpful employees were patient and understanding. They dont tell me just the basics Midas and their staff lets me know about everything going on with my vehicle whether it needs attending to or can wait.Big or small I will always bring my vehicle to Midas!
I have been coming to Midas for a couple of years now and have never had any issues. I trust them completely when I hand them my car keys because I know they will do the right thing and if they see an issue, they will tell me. I appreciate their customer service, always so kind and understanding. I will continue to come to this company whether it is this location or another, especially seeing all the familiar faces, makes a person truly trust someone with their vehicle when the same employees are still here with smiles on their faces. Thank you Midas !!
Great service went in for an oil change while in SA and was out of there in no time. Fast, hassle free, and the staff provided excellent customer service. By far the best experience I have ever had at a full service auto shop. Manager made sure I was well taken care of. Will definitely recommend and be back if Im ever in SA.
Got oil changed and it was prices higher than I expected. I cant fault them since I added onto the order, but the gentleman that called me about the car was polite and pointed out the two major things I needed done on my car that I had made myself aware of previously so I was appreciative of that. I intend to take it back for my overdue 70k maintenance and brake work and I was feeling comfortable with spending my time and money with them. Im feeling hesitant now after reading reviews. Any thoughts or suggestions??
The crew at Midas is awesome. They examined my car and showed me what needed to be fixed without any pressure to make repairs right away. They removed the plastic cover from the undercarriage of my car that was loose from an accident without charge, and although they accused me of running over a poor dog, I still appreciated their sense of humor. I was having a pretty stressful day, and they helped put a smile on my face. Thanks for the great experience!
Stopped by this Midas today to have my check engine light looked into. they took me in right away which I was grateful as I had a busy day scheduled. issue found and fixed promptly. love companies like this that not only know what they are doing but give customers great service. Thank you Midas!
When I was out of town my wife had a flat on the rear left tire of our vehicle. She took her truck to the first and closest place she could find. Being skeptical of being in a automotive environment she called me and left the phone on so I could hear the interaction. She asked to repair the hole in the tire and asked for the tire that match the other 3. Assuming everything was in progress I let her handle the rest of the transaction. She was then told she needed 4 brand new tires bc of “dry rot” despite the tires being less than 8 mos old. When we went to pick up the truck it had a random brand tire that did NOT match the others. When I showed up to the store to pick up the truck nobody wanted to help me bc they knew the kid that was trying to gouge her did that in his own. It was comical to see everyone scatter when I came in. When I confronted the “service rep” he acted completely caught off guard and had no idea how I could say the tires were in good working condition. I asked another attendant and he in fact admit the tires weren’t dry rotted at all and said they were perfectly fine as I stated. I was given the managers name of Matt Keefover and made Numerous attempts to contact him. He never got my voicemail, needed to call me back, was in a meeting etc etc etc. I’ve called Midas “Customer Care” lime and was given the run around there to. They said they were going to deliver the message to the owner of the store and assured me someone would return my call. Still nothing.I received the actual tire from a competitor that didn’t need to take advantage of a woman and all I asked was to return the tire the NEXT day. It’s even wrapped in the packing paper still. Make this right Midas...I thought and expected better from your company.
This team is AWESOME. Starting from the top with John(the manager...who is not afraid to be known by name and stands behind his team), then Charles (the one who always greets me in a kind and professional manager) and then to Chris (who does all/most of the work on my vehicle). The team here is completely professional. They understand my requests. They explain potential options. They notify me of any changes. They honor their warranties...without exception. They treat me right. These are just some of the reasons why whenever I have a problem with my car, I take it to my local Midas shop at 11227 Culebra Rd.
Went there for a simple alignment. 2hrs later manager tells me they can’t do anything to my car due to a tie rod sleeve seized on the tie rod ends. I offered a solution but that was not an option to him, he would rather charge me $300 for new parts that were not available for two days. I took my car to a small shop and the mechanic showed me the results of the completed alignment without having to put expensive new parts on. No more MIDASfor me.
I always take my vehicles there. I just didnt have one experience there and I have ALWAYS had a great experience there. Chris and the rest of the crew are awesome. They always treat my wife and I with the upmost respect and kindness. I would and have always highly recommended this place and everyone Ive sent there have had great experiences. Thank you Chris for being an awesome manager and having a great crew. Keep up the great work.
I went to Midas to do an alignment and the alignment was the worst alignment done. The toes were left unaligned which were the main focus on my problem. Then they tried selling me new tires to replace the almost new tires I already had. What kind of service is this? Are you working on commission that you need to sell us parts we dont need? I thought this was the end of it but I talked to my neighbors and they also went through similar experiences as well. Replacing brakes on brakes that were perfectly fine. This store should be investigated for costing customers money to replace parts that shouldnt be replaced. I will never go back !!!
I brought my Van to the Midas on Culebra and cant say enough good things about them! The guys are honest, upfront, and informative. They explained and showed me what needed to be done. Micheal was very paitent and answered all my questions. Anthony, the manager, was super helpful and really kind. He looked for cost effective options to make things affordable and worked out a payment plan for me. I really appreciated that. Chris & Jimmy both worked on my vehicle. They did a great job and I am very pleased with the service I recieved. The atmosphere is great. The guys joke around and make you feel comfortable. Christian is hilarious, I really enjoyed visiting with him while I waited. I would recommend Midas on Culebra to anyone looking for great service & a fair deal.
The manager (Anthony) and his crew provided me with expert and timely service which is much appreciated in this day and age. Its hard to find reliable repair shops that one can trust, (I trust these guys). The issues with my vehicle were diagnosed within 20 minutes after my arrival and the work was completed in a timely manner. Anthony personally gave me a ride to my residence as they needed to keep my vehicle overnight (special order part), much appreciated. Thanks Anthony for the great advise and stellar service concerning my vehicle.
I took my truck here for the first time ever I paid for high mileage oil and my truck started smoking which it has never done in 4 years of having it EVER!!!!! Took it back to them and they said it had oil!!!! Here we are Literally one month later and my truck has been acting up and my lights came on, got home had my husband check it and it had ZERO OIl !!!! Never EVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!! Had I not known how my truck runs I would have never known I was running on fumes LITERALLY and could have burned my engine!!!!! Incompetent staff clearly !!!! Do not take your vehicles there!!!!! My garage had zero stains so there’s no way I could have zero oil in one month!!! We had both of our vehicles serviced for oil changes and one had oil and one did not????? I believe they didn’t put any oil at all. This black smoke has me concerned though!!! Jiffy lube never gave me problems but there wasn’t one near where we lived so I entrusted Midas to do the job!!! Huge mistake!!
Me and my family are new here and we took our car to get a new alternator on the car. A few days go by and the car wont start, later Midas says they alternator was faulty. They changed it. But why want there a recall on out? Then we go up there to get the bolts off of the car tires to find out that it was done by an employee manually and no one can oblige. They were cordial but didnt care for services rendered
Great Place for all my maintenance needs, they rotated my tires and found my brakes were really low, thank god because we were going on a long trip. They installed my front brakes and gave me a lifetime warranty. Will be coming back for my tires. Thank You Midas Crew!
I normally do not take my car anywhere besides dealerships, Christian Martinez works at the Alamo Ranch location and he reommended me to come on by. I took my car in and they did everything from oil change to tire rotation!!! I have never had such a good experience before at an auto shop until I came here and being a woman, they didnt take advantage of me. I greatly appreciate the service they did and how extremely easy it was to get my car taken care of. Thank you Christian Martinez, I will recommend your location to all my friends !!!
I had a flat tire right by Midas and I was already running late to an important appointment. Ray and his team changed my tire to my spare free of charge and did it so quickly I was able to get to my appointment on time. They were friendly and kind and I wont go anywhere else now. Great group of mechanics!
Took my truck into to get an oil change. I saw the coupon for for full synthetic oil change with tire rotation. So i took it up there explained that i qas using the coupon. The vehicle is completed I ask was the tire rotation done he states that you have to ask for it. I said youbhave to ask for something that you advertise in your coupon. That was the only reason I took my vehicle there.
We went to Midas to get our tire filled with air because it was looking a little flat and there turned out to be a nail in it! Both Mr. Anthony and Christian were very helpful and had great customer service! They also took care of me care like it was their own and I felt safe leaving it their with them. They were funny and had great personalities with the guests! If you are having car trouble go to Midas they will take care of you like you are family!
Nice, friendly staff, reasonable prices, fast service. Ive only been there twice, but I saw no sign of the shady stuff mentioned in other reviews. They didnt try to suggest any additional work or repairs beyond what I wanted and I even specifically asked if they found anything else that needed attention. They even listened to my dumb questions and answered politely and without any disrespect or down-talking. Also, the waiting room is comfy and clean. I feel very comfortable continuing to take my car there as long as I live in the area.
My husband took his truck on April 22 to this location to do an oil change. The next day my husband drove it to work. He then saw all the oil had spilled all over. He call right away Midas and they picked it up but the District manager Mark told my husband that the oil could not have spilled just like that if he had removed the oil filter.. That was very accusatory . To make this short my husband’s truck motor engine burn and they are refusing to fix it!! This is vey sad to us specially during this time .We depend on this vehicle to commute to work . We have tried to talk to the owner but they refused to called us.
Just got back from having my oil changed. Ive been using midas for years. Ive had my ignition switch replaced on one vehicle..multiple oil changes..new tires..my thermostat housing fixed..tune ups..etc. All completed through this midas and i promise you..they are customer friendly..very professional and have great mechanics. I admit i dont know a whole lot about my used car when something new goes wrong so i really appreciate their knowledge and integrity. They have NEVER over charged me and i always get my car back running smoothly. I love that even thou i have a used vehicle..they use protective mats on my floor board by the pedals. They have always cared about how they treat me and my car. Check them out for yourself...youll be happy you did..i am and ill keep going back. Thanks Midas.
Attempted to reach them to schedule an oil change. Called twice and requested appointments 3 times online. Online it says they will get back to you within 30 business minutes. They never did. Not once. I will be taking my 4 cars somewhere else for oil changes, even if it is a further drive.
Ive been coming to this location since we moved here about a year ago. These guys are always professional and courteous, they even get the door for me when Im coming and going. They always let me know when I need additional maintenance but NEVER pressure me into anything. I highly recommend this location for your car care needs.Thank you guys so much for taking such good care of me and my car!!!
I recently moved to Alamo Ranch. Since I used Midas in the past where I am from, I thought I would try this Midas near my new home. This Midas in Alamo Ranch is really nice and they welcomed me. This visit was just to have my oil changed but I was so impressed watching the manager talking with his customers that I feel confident in making this my new Midas. 5 stars from me.
Very disappointed with my visit today. I understand that it was a busy day to get an oil change, but once in the bay it still took them about 1.5 hours. I watched my car sit there for approximately 30 minutes or more without being touched to find out it was already done and needed to be backed out. So out of the 4 guys just standing there none of them were able to do anything or even knew what was going on. 2 hours later i finally got my car back and will not be returning.
We also experienced being told we needed repairs and tires that werent needed. Quoted 900 for an alternator which was completed at a reputable shop for 300. Tires were double until I complained then the price changed.Definitely dont let your daughter take her car by herself they will immediately find extra unnecessary work.Save yourself money and headache and go anywhere else.
HelloI’m a mechanical engineer and I went to this store for my car. I have a diagnostic report on hand and I knew what’s the problem. The mechanic said he want to do something which I think not related to my car issue and when I start discussing the problem with him he get mad especially when I said I’m mechanical engineer and then he and his buddy get so mad on me just because I didn’t agree with them and they kicked me out of the store and charge me 118$.
I stopped by your location after being pushed away by another auto retailer because all I wanted was a $20 oil change. Jerry and his staff treated me with respect, took care of my needs and was extremely timely . Paid the same amount as I would have at other retailer without the hassle. Shop and waiting area were very clean. I know that retail businesses have goals for Avg $ ticket and I know that was the reason I was discouraged at NTB. Midas didnt treat me any different then if I needed 4 tires. Thanks Jerry and team. I will be back for all my needs as well as my wife.
I went in there a few months ago for an oil change. They gave me a list of recommended services that they said I needed. On that list was power steering fluid. Nope. I dont have power steering. This is one of those shops thats going to rob you. Either that or they dont know the first thing about cars.
Midas Cost Me $10,000. Last year around this time I took my car in because my car was seizing up and over heating. The only place I trusted was Midas. I assumed they always did a thorough job. When the car was stalling on me I finally managed to get the car to Midas. I was hoping it was nothing too serious. When the guy at the counter got back with me, he said that the technician looked at the car and said that the gasket between the engine and the radiator broke. He said with this type of engine the gasket can’t be replaced because it’s attached... the whole engine has to go. He quoted me on two motors. A used one for $6000+ and a new one for $7000+. The new motor would only have a one year warranty he said... I decided instead of risking the new motor under its one year warranty I would get a new and/or reliable car. After almost a year gone by my father in law wanted to see what could be done for my broken down car. He took it to a shop he knew and within hours we got our diagnosis on the car. There was a disconnected hose and the radiator needed to be flushed. All costing us $160! I have never been so mad and if it is possible, I would probably sue Midas for their laziness to do a proper inspection! I did not have the money at the time and I will be paying for it for the next few years in stress and financially.
Having spent over a thousand dollars on tires at this location todays experience was shocking. Picked up a nail today in rear passengers side tire. Tire repair should have been under warranty, and was definitely repairable. The guy told us we needed a new tire. We will not be back. Highly disappointed.
Both of the Johns were very helpful and experienced, I had my car break down and was towed here and it was driving within hours, the work was done amazing, and the best part is that they didn’t up-charge on the price. I had an idea of what was wrong and they didn’t try fixing unnecessary things. I recommend coming here with any vehicle problems.
THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! The reason I say that is because of the way they show their costumer service now everyone has their own opinion but I just felt like they were going to make me pay more than what I actually paid for. I brought in my 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport this was a vehicle I recently purchase from a Toyota Dealership so I knew everything was new. This was my first oil change for this vehicle and so when I got my vehicle back they were saying I needed my window wipers replace so that was a SCAM for sure, they replace my new ones with old ones that they had cause we just had rain before and it was wiping fine, and now I have use wipers that leave streaks on my window and then that same day I found out they took out all my coolant from my reservoir this coolant last for 7 years and so I had no choice but to go out of my way to buy coolant and till this day there is no leaks and still at the full line. This is literally a dishonest place to go too and I will never come back. Im a USMC Vet and I guess this is their way of treating the people that fight for their country like this. Shame on yall for fooling me.
I went here one time and was quoted over $3,500 on a suspension repair that I didnt need alongside with new brakes after just replacing my brakes at another shop before moving to San Antonio. My co-worker Colten had stopped by and also got this nonsense about needing to replace all of his suspension components on a fairly new Mazda as well. After hearing about this, another co-worker of ours (Keith) said he would give this Midas a shot with our warnings, and apparently the new (used) Ford Fusion he had got wouldnt start due to a major electrical issue after he had dropped it off based on the mechanics testimony. Keith went back and cussed them out (from what he said) and suddenly the car was working again magically after that confrontation.Based on what I was told, and what other people I have worked with have said about this place, I find it to be ethical to make sure the owner and other customers read this review to inhibit the mechanics desire to lie to customers to make more money. Honesty normally transposes to a stronger loyalty that customers will develop towards a business, like High Tech Transmission off of Bandera.Contrast this with Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers across the way, who had figure out that my AC was shot on my other vehicle (Chevy Sonic) because my Schradder valve was shot, and was like $20 to fix. I wouldnt have expected that honesty with this Midas store unfortunately, and presume my repair would exceed $1k just so they could make their money.
Been coming to this Midas for years , its been upgraded with knowledgeable staff and techs, I know the owner has several more stores and is equipped with Management to handle Our car care needs.I know this MIDAS Will and Remain the best store @ Alamo Ranch. Keep up the good work!!
I went to this location and I was very impressed with their service! The oil change I received was very quick and easy, I went on my lunch break and was out just in time to get some lunch. Erik Rodriguez was very respectful and on the ball, I will be returning back to this location Midas for all my services.
Good for a simple oil change. When it gets more complicated than that prices go way up and work gets sloppy. I paid $$$ for a new part and they either put same part back in or a used one. Ended up having car breakdown on an ER visit to Dallas. It was same part they supposedly fixed. Just bad business..
I had 2 new caylilic converters installed at this location on mt 2009 ford F150 pick up. the work was done exceptionally well and Joe kept me informed all through the process. his welding skills were impressive. the customer service interaction with the service people at the shop was very good.. would not hesitate to recommend this shop as a go-to for quality and friendly service... Dawn Nettleton
Came for oil change and I was in and out in 30 min!! Fantastic customer service and very clean facility. Christian was very professional and throughly explained my vehicles condition! Highly recommend and I will be coming back in the near future! Thank you Alamo Ranch Midas!!
I’ve had good experiences with this crew before today. Last year ,I took my 04 Silverado for an alignment. During that they found an oil pan gasket leak. I get a price to replace $431(which I’ve should have taken). So my truck been parked for 6mths. I decided to get it running again and call Midas to get pan gasket done. I had 3 different quotes given to me so decided to go in person. The store manager gives me a printed estimate of $461. I take it in to get it done and bam suddenly it’s a $770 job. All misquotes were from a Manager by the name of John. It’s funny how he tried spinning it like I had given him wrong info. My truck is a 2004 which I have owned since 04 and have had it serviced many times. So the info is in auto mode in my brain. Not to mention that they ( another John) gave me an estimate a year earlier with the truck up on the lift while getting the alignment. No more Midas for me. It’s either dishonesty or incompetence but I will have no part of that BS. I also found a shop across the road from them to do work for $500 #midasculebrasucks
Ive came here before and never had an issue. However, I went for an oil change recently and was told that my truck needed lower ball joints immediately. I was told that I had to buy the whole controller arm/ball joint because the ball joint by itself was not sold in stores. This was an $800 job according to midas. Number 1: autozone sells the ball joint by itself for $23 . Number 2: I took my truck to dealership and they assured me my truck was fine. The mechanic also left my truck nasty and greasy inside. Totally not cool. Granted, the manager offered me a free oil change. But I respectfully declined. Im never going there again.
This Midas went above and beyond for me and my van. They not only fixed my air conditioner.. and did my brakes..they were so professional and talked me through everything. I had originally took my van to be checked out at the shop I used in the past and they wanted way more money and to do work I didn’t need. Midas used computers to find the real problems and my van runs better than ever! A special thank you especially to John the manager. Thank you . Joyce
Not very happy about this one. And I love to go Midas. So the appt schedule well no-one tends to it. Then I go in person to be told theyll be right with me . I stood my Social distance self away only for this guy to help someone that just walked after me. Get it together.
Its really comforting to find a mechanic shop who is caring and honest. My daughter went to midas with a coolant leak. Midas did a pressure test and it turn out her bottom hose was loose. Midas tighten it refilled the coolant. And didnt charge her. WOW!!!!. Thank You Midas For Your Integrity..
I normally dont like writing reviews but felt I had to. I had the worst experience and am paying $2000 worth of work done. I took my car to another place to inquire how much they would charge for the same job and they qouted way less and regret it. It took them a week to fix my car. I had to go there to get an update and this Manager in Training guy had a horrible attitude and was mad at me for showing up. I also had exhaust issues and they told me the best way is to replace the whole thing for over $2000 worth of work. The other place I mentioned charged me $60 to seal up the exhaust and no noise. When I moved to this area Midas was my 1st choice coz have had work done at other locations. As for now I will never step my foot anyway close to a Midas.
Took my Honda for an oil change. They called a short time later and said a couple of my tires were rotted and needed to be changed. Also said you might as well change all 4 because its better for the car and quoted me some outrageous price. I declined and asked them to only do the oil change as this did not seem right. The person who rang up the bill acted as if he was doing me a favor by taking the coupon that I found on the Midas website. I took my car to Gunn Honda and they found no problems with my tires. DO NOT take your vehicle here! After my experience I have found many others which Midas has tried to suggest/perform services which are not necessary!!
I do not trust a place that tells me what is wrong with my car when they do not take me to the garage and show me these new problems they claim to have found after I had my car looked and fixed by my preferred mechanic. However thank you for pointing out the new issues because I will get a lawyer if any of the things I replaced and fixed recently were tampered with just to make me spend more money than I just spent fixing my car by a top mechanic! Look, if this store is going downhill after so many changes by hiring incompetent people who need to be told what to do, is not my fault to pay for it.
Skip this place. They dont seem to know what they are doing. I took my car in to Midas on Culebra for a check engine light repair. I figured it was the catalytic converter and/or oxygen sensor and was told it was both. They fixed it but the car ran rough and a couple of days later the check engine light is back on. So I go back and they keep the car a couple of days while they try and figure it out. 3 days later I get it back and they have no clue but reset the check engine light so now it is off. Guess what, a day later the engine light is back on. Take it back and they decide it was a bad catalytic converter or oxygen sensor and have to replace both. Couple more days in the shop and then I get the call. There is suddenly a computer reset that has to be done to the car when you change the catalytic converter. An extra $250 dollars. Get the car back and it still runs rough. They said the computer has to learn how I am driving so that was normal...WHAT. Just waiting for the check engine light to come on again.Couple of points.1. Midas reputation is on mufflers and exhaust. You would figure they would know what goes into replacing the catalytic converter to include a computer reset.2. I should not have been charged for the reset. It was their mistake and the additional repairs have cost me time and inconvenience to fix their oversight and error.3. Car still runs rougher than before Midas. While it is under warranty, I certainly wont go back to this Midas. I am hoping there is a more reputable shop somewhere in town.Yeah, I am ticked to trust the Midas touch. I got burned and I dont think they care. If this helps you decide to go somewhere else, then it will serve its purpose. Good luck.
They lied to me about my brake system and tried to talk me into replacing the cables, shoes, drums, rotors, hoses and basically the while nine yards for several thousand. All over a few drops of oil they found on the front left caliper and a persistent screech. Another place flushed and replaced my brake fluid and ensured there were no bubbles for a couple bucks and told me how to knock out all the rotors, shoes and drums myself for super cheap. Im never going back to MidasThere was no brake fluid leak, the system didnt need to be replaced, just cleaned and checked outDidnt need to replace the rotors but better safe than sorry, they were past half life anywayI think it was Thrash automotive, ill be headed there next week for transmission fluid replacement
I had such a great experience. I thought my transmission was messing up, and they found it was something else by taking the time to look and fixed it. They were so nice and kind. I had to sit there for 5 hours, but had such a good time with the friendly staff. Anthony, Joe, and Christian were so awesome! Thank you.
Went here to have them check an engine light after I have been trouble shooting the car my myself. With a $180 fee to diagnostics the car they told me that parts were broken that I seen work with my eyes. And when I asked to speak to the technician he denied telling the desk worker the I had the problem and he did not trouble shoot the car. Wow! This place sucks. Try a different repair shop
This place is a scam, just go to the dealership or another mechanic. I went for a brake change but they tried to lie and scam me by trying to make me believe that I needed other services for my car. The worse part of it was when I noticed that my hood was not closed properly, so when I opened it, I found that my air intake hose was out!? Why did they take it out? Idk.... Im just glad I didnt drive away before checking that. I for sure am not coming back to this place or any other midas
I brought my truck in to see what was causing a rattle underneath it. They called me back later and told me that both of my catalytic converts were bad and would need to be replaced. So I was looking at about $1k for universal cats. I told them I couldnt afford that right now, no I dont want to open a store credit card, and brought it home. After about 5 min research online I find out that Federal law mandates an 8 year/ 80k mile warranty on catalytic converters, which my truck falls under. So I took it to McCombs Ford West and had it done for free. Thanks Midas for caring about money more than your customers and making them pay for service that has a federally mandated warranty since 1996. I would have respected you and continued to use your service for any other work I needed if you had informed me of this. Now I refuse to use you and will make sure I let others know of my feelings. How many other people have you ripped off for warranty work?
My car was towed to Midas for a no start. Thought It might be a Starter. Midas brought the vehicle in and did a starting and charging test. My starter was good turns out the battery was not fully charged, apparently my terminals were loose. Midas Charged My battery and replaced my terminals. Thank God For Midas. Thank you Midas For your Integrity..
Many in Alamo Ranch will not go back to this location. Most have been quoted repairs that were found not to be needed. I for one was told that power steering pump was leaking and could be replaced for $1200.Went to friends shop, cleaned old grease and dirt and found no leaks. Many many residents are chatting on our community line about their bad experiences. Many will be reporting to Better Business.
Marcus,Richard & Chris Wonderful from the moment I called until the time I picked up my vehicle they provided wonderful customer service. My husband & I are extremely satisfied with the professionalism and the empathy these gentlemen had. They were defiantly a god sent !!!!
IT was by far the worst service ever!!!They charged me 30 dollars to to check my car.. I was watching them the whole time and the guy that checked my car looked like he had no clue what he was doing!Later the manager came and told me it was my fans and that it was going to be 900 dollars to fix my car... I refused the service so i ended upTaking it to another place and the mechanic told me that my fans were just fine! They completely misdiagnosed my vehicle!!!!!They will try to rip you off if u let them!
Over priced and over charged for work that was quoted less than half that price in many near by mechanic shops. They tried to charge me 910.00 for a 500 job!Be prepared for them to change prices on you after you get work done and then when you bring it up they argue about it. The manager Chris was very unprofessional huffing and puffing making comments and shaking his head, saying he will take it out of his Check as if your begging them for a deal. He offered me the price and when I told him it was incorrect from what he offered he argued with me said he called me never did. He had a wrong number on file but called my correct number to let me know it was ready hmmm. But he called me about the price? Makes no sense. He priced matched a competitor when I was there and agrees to a prove when I came back changes it because he thought it wasnt a big deal.We will NEVER use them again and also will be reporting them to the BBB for charging me previouse work they didnt do. I will also be reporting this to many online websites on reviews, I did get the work verified 2 times before letting Midas know they didnt do what I paid for. The manager Chris had the worst attitude. EDWARD a coworker had a vey bad attitude toward women. The men in there treat women as if they dont know whats going on. The nice younger gentleman at the register was very polite. We were Very uncomfortable , and thats a very disrespectful place. I have 13 neighborhoods surrounding this location with 59 people who can show you there pics and there recommendations to other companies who are great. These people make a DONT USE MIDAS forum on the neighbor app and shared there horrific stories about the bad service at Midas. Proves its not just me locally who had a bad experience.
I came in for an oil change, and mentioned that my tire pressure was low. I asked what came with the oil change and the guys said that they only checked transmission oil, but that they would check my tires too (if you look at their website, there are a whole list of checks they should do when youre paying for an oil change, including checking your tires. I doubt they did any).Eventually I get my car back, and notice that my front right tire still was low. I mentioned it the john and he swore that they checked the pressure, and that it was fine. I pointed out how low it looked, he just repeated that it was fine. I got home, checked the pressure, i was 10psi lower than i needed to be.If they lie to your face about things you can easily see, how can i trust them with things i cant check as easily...
Christian and Charles were great! Christian was very funny, polite and knowledgeable. My husband was getting his car checked out and Christian made this a very painless and positive experience for this wife. And cheers to whoever made the coffee on September 9th because it was perfect!
I had bad experience with them. My car overheated, then I took it to them to look for the problem. They said I need to change many parts which will cost me $1000. I really got shocked. Its really expensive. I knew the problem was due to cut in the upper hose, so I refused, and took my car towards Auto parts shop. I bought the upper hose and coolant water and I fixed it my self. It cost me $60 not $1000. It was extremely bad experience.
No go for diesel vehicles. Went to go get my oil changed on a diesel, asked the guy at the front if I could find out what kind of oil they were going to put in it and if it was full synthetic. He said he wasnt sure and could only give me the brand name. I ask if there was a way he could find out what exactly it was, full synthetic, synthetic blend, etc. he was not willing to look into it or give me further information. After asking a few more times he said I guess could call the distributor but it is going to take me at least an hour turns out he was the district manager of 7 stores. Due to lack of knowledge or willingness to get that knowledge (which is just bad customer service) I would not recommend them for an diesel vehicle work.
Came in for an oil change left with a headache. They left my vehicle drenched in oil. I asked them to clean immediatley. I returned home and noticed oil dripping out of my skid plate. After I noticed that i decided to check out my fluids to see if someone actually did their job. I found that the battery cables they marked as all good were corroded and needed to be changed/cleaned and found that the washer fluid was not topped off. But they sure noticed that the air filter was dirty. I am awaiting a response to receive my money back or an appointment to watch a tech do the work to ensure I dont get back a vehicle worse than what I brought in.
100% Bab service, 100% irresponsibility, 0% warranty...go and you will live in dangerThis is what happen when you take your car to Midas on Alamo ranch where you dont mind to pay more than $600 dollars because is certified. Thanks Good this didnt happen on the freeway
Only place I will go to get an oil change. Staff is always straight forward, super quick, and really helpful. Also being a woman who doesnt know much about cars I love how they do not over charge me or try to make me pay for things I really do not need. Thank you Midas Alamo Ranch!
Horrible experience! I have never been treated so badly from idiotic men who claim to know how to fix a car! I am disgusted with the overall customer service of the company! They overprice on top of the fact they are incompetent to fix a brake issue! They claim to have amazing mechanics but twice I had to return my car due to their lack of knowledge and lack of care! I got 4 different qoutes for something that really should have cost me $800... I ended up spending $1700. Truly the worst experience ever.
I got oil changed at the Alamo Ranch location. They forgot to replace my oil cap. Oil splashed all under my car hood. I took a trip to Dallas unaware puting my family in danger. I paid for someone to clean up the mess. I was supposed to be reimbursed. Still waiting on Mr Crane to sign the check. Its been since Thanksgiving.

What a scam! The salesman Chris said I we getting Wagner rotors and wearever brake pads and when I get home I find out they r Midas brand rotors and brake pads! Charged me more then double of what they cost! Run from this place and just listen to what they tell each customer, every time u go in for an oil change something significant will be wrong with ur car. I asked for the old rotors and they would not give them to me. They r crooks go somewhere else
Thanks for cutting into my friends undercarriage cover to change the oil. Thanks to that, my friend had to get/buy a new undercarriage cover since an air pressure sensor was messing up since air was no longer being contained properly by the undercarriage cover. (Cutting into the undercarriage cover was considered a modification, and this not covered by any warranties.)This shop has no respect for brand-specific parts, and just does whatever the heck they want to. Avoid this place like the plague.
These guys in this store are crooks my daughter who is a college student went in to get 1 tire 195/65r15 and their 19.99 oil change for a 2003 Saturn Ion..she asked them to find her the cheapest tire..her bill came out to $164.76(crooks who take advantage of young ladies and women) I went back up there with my daughter to ask them why would they not only sell her that tire but put other charges and add ons the 1 of which she didnt know about..NO apology No nothing..If you have young college students , elderly mom or dad, or do not know much about what you should haveor need Do Not Come here or you will get ripped off FYI Walmart charge for a 195/65r15 $44 tire no labor charge...Midas $76.98 and 24.99 labor to put the tire On!! and they will add stuff to your bill and tell you nothing!! I Will be calling the district manager because the store manager could care less!!
Worst experience. I have never felt more taken advantage of in regards to servicing my vehicle. The manager was condescending and treated me like a child, not a paying customer. They broke my oil pan, didnt tell me, and now Im having to pay for a new one. I will never come back to any Midas location.
Wish there was a ZERO star rating. John tried to tell my sister they couldnt fix her tire and she needed to buy a new tires. Said it was too close to the sidewall and it clearly wasnt. Wish I could upload picture so everyone could see. They tried to take advantage of her. I wonder how many people fall for this scam?
Turned my vehicle in for routine maintenance and the staff said they would get to it in two hours and give me a call when it’s done. Four hours go bye I get no call and they closed their shop. Not even a call to say they wouldn’t get to it like they said they would. I will not be going back there again.
Needed new front rotors and brakes so I went to this store believing that a Midas could take care of this issue. They replaced my front rotors and brakes a few days later I heard a metal grinding sound in my front right, I took my car back to Midas, there explanation was that it wasnt the rotor to try greasing some suspension parts and to drive it for 2 or so days and if that didnt fix it they would recommend working on the suspension w/ a $500-$1000 quote. The sound never went away I asked some other mechanics what to do before going back to Midas for a third time. They said replace the rotor or move it to the L side to see if the sound occurred over there, logically determining if it is the new rotor or not. As I arrived at Midas for the third time I explained the new suggestions, they again insisted it wasnt the rotor, after arguing again they decided to try a new rotor. Well guess what it was the rotor. I know parts sometimes can be bad so I understand this, however what is completely unacceptable is the way I was treated, countless hours/days wasted and that they would try to upsale other work w/out checking the original work they did. I would not send my worst enemy to this store, Anthony the manger did not help at all in fact he was the one insisting on suspension problems. I will never take business to Midas ever, worst car experience ever!!

2022-07-24I have my vehicle taken in for servicing. They worked on the ac, brakes and oil change. Cost me $2800 and while driving on the highway I realized they cut most of the screws on the casing on the bottom of my car. It kept rubbing on the highway and I had to pull over twice to keep it in place until I got home. Unacceptable and unprofessional

2022-06-13Had a code read at Auto Zone and needed a canister purge valve on 2017 Cadillac XTS. I seen the video and would do it myself, but I was out of town. Price of part was roughly $61. Called one Midas and was quoted $130 for labor and to bring in the in the part, a one hour job. I called this one and they wanted $624 and quoted a 3 hour labor job. The plastic part sits on top near the intake. Do not take your car to these people unless you plan to be ripped off! They are dishonest. When I quoted the other Midas and told him he should be ashamed of himself, he said take it to them then. He was not hispanic in voice, but a person of non-color. Someone had warned me about this shop, but it was closer to my daughter’s house. Do not use them!

2022-05-07I would call ahead because it was a three 1/2 hour wait for an oil change. I decided to go anyway and they got it done in just over 2 hours. Also, they accepted my Groupon so it was a very low price.

2022-03-25For some reason they dont like Groupons, I say that cause the minute I mentioned i was there to use my Groupon the whole attitude change from a 30 minute wait to a 1 hour wait, then they seem to use every excuse Not to do the service for my groupon. To me thats really sad service. SMH I mean I know they need to money but dont show true side to me the customer. Bad service.. .

2022-02-26Took my car in a Saturday for a slow leak tire was told by end of day. They were closed Sunday and had to call Monday morning to see if my car was ready. I feel that if they didnt get around to it by end of day Saturday they should have let me know and given me the option to take my car somewhere else that might have been opened on Sunday.

2022-02-15My Husband took his car here to get an oil change. Without even telling him, they replaced his oil pan with a temporary oil pan for some odd reason. We went to another Midas around converse (we moved) and they informed us of the temporary oil pan. The owner at the new shop was willing to replace due to it being a store issues however referred us back to this Midas because they were the ones who messed up. The manager refused to replace and repair the oil pan. Even though it was their fault due to negligent employees. It’s disgusting that a company will not repair an issue they caused and now $300 will fall on us for their mistake. We will never come here again and will be reporting them. I don’t recommend this shop.

2020-03-05On two separate occasions, 4/1/2019 & 10/23/2019 my vehicle was serviced at the Midas 11227 Culebra Rd in San Antonio, Texas location for an oil change. On 02/11/2019 I took my vehicle to the GMC West Auto Dealership where a certified auto technician disclosed that my oil filter was never changed, which has resulted in catastrophic engine damage. I have significant evidence that supports my claim that my engine has been ruined due to the unprofessional and inadequate service done to my vehicle by the Midas store employees as well as misrepresentations made to me by your Midas store employees that I had been provided a new oil and oil filter change on both service dates. I have attempted contact via a certified letter the Store Manager, Nick Gannon and GM, Chris Gannon. However, I have not received any feedback to include an acknowledge of my letters to Nick or Chris Gannon. I am deeply disappointed by the service and treatment by Midas and its staff. The lack of response has forced me to report my issue to my local Better Business Bureau for further assistance. I expect to hear from a Midas representative with settlement authority immediately.

2022-03-22Went in for an oil change and the service was great. Was surprised how fast the time went by. There were about 4 people ahead of me and I was still out of there in an hour and a fifteen minutes.
