Its true that water is shut off regularly and hot water is shut off every few months. However, the staff is pretty helpful and friendly. The apartment itself is comfortable and the walls arent as thin as other places Ive lived. Also usually get pretty quick responses from maintenance and I like their maintenance staff. With the water issues fixed, this place would be close to great.
If there is one complaint, it is the water being shut off. That being said, I understand they are constantly trying to upgrade and improve the water systems so it is not as big a deal.Beyond that, this place is honestly a excellent place to live at! The staff is very friendly, will work with you regardless if any situation arises with your apartment, and have maintenance available to fix whatever is needed within a day or two. I also believe that it is a safe place to live, as in my two years living here I have never once had a situation arise where I felt unsafe on any part of the apartment property. They do have a higher cost for pet fees, but are very friendly with your pets and even have a dog park for your dog to roam around freely and be able to use the bathroom.Overall I believe this is a great place to live, a very safe place to live, and affordable in comparison to other places within the city. Staff goes a long ways towards a great experience, and you will not have a better experience than with this staff!
Love this place. Very quite! Close to everything. Has pool, dog area, is kept very clean. 1 bedrooms are very large and are big enough to thoroughly enjoy. Bedrooms big. Apartments have fireplaces and big dining and living rooms. If anything in apartment complex goes on, we are notified immediately.
I have called Mill Creek Home for 2 years and 8 months; the reason why I’m leaving is bc I’m pcsing. I loved the fact that I had hardwood floors throughout the apartment/ upgraded appliances, and the office staff was always so kind to me. Yes, the water is turned off for maintenance more than I care to acknowledge, but other than that I did enjoy my stay. Another thing I liked was that where my apartment was located (181) people didn’t hang out at night nor were they really loud.
Do NOT move here. I moved in 5 months ago and have had nothing but trouble. Tons of water damage. Three times in my bathroom water was pouring out and the ceiling falling down. Twice in my dining room I had to put a bucket. Huge water stains and cracks. When they finally fixed it the RIGHT way, they repainted my ceilings and proceeded to get paint (which I have photos of) all over my brand new sectional couch, dining room chairs, and photo frames; white paint splattered everywhere, including the walls. My AC went out, they supposedly fixed it then when I came home from being out of town my apartment was flooded all in the dining and hallway, the carpet was completely soaked and inches of water puddles. They did not replace this, only steam cleaned and put a giant fan under my carpet for a week so my apartment smelt like a natural water river. Not to mention the first time they repaired my bathroom which had water pouring out and sheetrock falling down, I came home to not even knowing maintenance was in my apartment so I could not get ready for work because of the tools and ladders AND he was not even in my apartment but my front door was unlocked!Management did not seem to care or even apologize once, or compensate me for all these incidents. I’m guessing it’s normal in this place. Not to mention how many times they shut off the water. And how the pool is NEVER open. And you have to pay 25$ for a gym key, a key that didn’t even work whenever I got it, to a gym that doesn’t even have AC and is so old their stuff barely works.Don’t let their new outside appearance fool you.
A nice and quiet neighborhood for the most part thats kept well cleaned by the grounds people. Nowhere is perfect and there are water issues but they normally try to keep the shut-offs for repairs during when everyone is normally at work (besides emergencies). The management team has been great though and Jennifer has always been prompt with any answers or assistance I may need. Its an easy complex to get in and out of (besides when it rains like most of Abilene) and the living areas are great for what I need.
Wouldnt ever recommend this apartment to absolutely anyone. It Has been a nightmare! Wish I could do zero stars! This apartment complex staff our worthless. If you need anything done in a timely manner, good luck. They never call back when you leave a voicemail. I was promised the carpets and apartment were to be cleaned before move in. On move in day light bulbs were out, toilet wouldnt flush properly, exhaust fan made grinding noise, little children hand prints on door frames, you could see where pictures were hung from tenant before, back room smelt like cat urine, gum smashed into carpet, carpet coming up where kitchen met the carpet. All this was promised to be done that week, 5 months later after numericous calls nothing had been done.Their laundry rooms our locked randomly, they have locked my laundry in the laundry room over night. This didnt late at night, but at 6pm on a weekday.Water is always shut off, went there for 2 weeks where only would have water for 2-3 hours a day.Hot water would be turned off at times, or hot water would be coming out of both hot and cold.
The WORST place we have ever lived, do not let the look of them fool you. We moved in May 2018 and before even signing the lease asked about the water issues that are stated in previous reviews and were told they had been fixed in December of 2017… big fat lie. Within the first week of living here we had the water shut off twice for repairs, and by the end of our lease in May 2019 I had 41 emails about “emergency repairs” so the water had to be shut off, sometimes for more than a day and other times we had no hot water for multiple days. On top of the water issues the office staff is lazy and constantly closes the office during business hours. I had multiple instances where I was trying to get ahold of them and would call and call and call and get no answer only to leave work and show up and have them either be sitting in the office or out back smoking their cigarettes. We moved out at the end of April, still paying our May rent, because we couldn’t wait to get out of the place and cleaned the place top to bottom, even shampooing the carpet multiple times only to be charged $950 in “damages and cleaning fees after moving out. IDK if I have made it clear or not, but if you are thinking about renting a place here.. think again people!!!! I will say their maintenance staff, the little old man and lady, are absolutely wonderful and so sweet! Only good thing about the place.
I’ve lived in Abilene my whole life and Mill Creek Apts are MY FAVORITE! Jane and Jennifer in the office are absolutely amazing! Professional, efficient, and so so sweet! My apt was so cozy and comfortable. It always felt like home! The maintenance staff were always quick to come take care of my requests and were always so sweet and acknowledged me and the boyfriend...even our dog! If you’re looking for an apt you can’t get any better than Mill Creek!❤️
My husband and I have had amazing Help from Jennifer since we moved in we were lucky to get the place we wanted and enjoyed staying here ever since! They always let us know by emailing us when something is gonna happen or be turned off in advance. We are so happy with our place.
I enjoy living here and it has been a wonderful experience. Jennifer is very polite and awesome and answers any questions i have. The office staff are super friendly to my son when i stop by for any concerns i have. Yes, i have to agree the water issues have been troublesome, but they try to keep the shutoff times during normal working hours. I recommend this place to anyone looking!
Under no circumstance should you move to this apartment unless you absolutely have to. You will regret it within a very short time. Why? I can name several reasons why, but Ill only focus on the highlights. (1) The plumbing is horrible. They shut the water off at least 2-3 times per WEEK. Youll come home from work turn on the pipes and brown water and air will shoot out of the pipes. And thats if the water is turned back on by then. (2) The electricity is constantly going off. Not sure if this is a matter of the overall infrastructure in the area, but wow, some days I feel like Im in a Third World country.Regardless of the sub standard services you receive, they expect their money on time and in full, every time. I had an issue with their auto pay service. Even though, they were receiving my rent on time and in full, as soon as there was a hiccup with the auto pay system and I brought it to their attention, I was told it was my fault and Id have to eat the late fees. I was basically told to go and pound sand. There are other minor issues that might not be big on their own but here they are. The pool hours and season are way too restrictive. The alleged workout room in the club house is purely for show. Its like a museum for old workout machines. They’re constantly entering your apartment without giving prior notice. Youll just come back from work and you might see a little piece of paper placed somewhere telling you they were in your apartment. Finally, prepare to be incessantly spammed on your email and cell phone (text messages) about popcorn, cookies, and other social events at the club house.Theres more, but I think this gives you a good idea of how horrible the place is. Is it the average for Abilene, Im not sure. I can tell you that I will NOT be renewing my lease here. Counting the months until I can leave this hell hole behind.
Constantly turning the water off with no notice, my A/C had to be fixed 3 times in a year. The last time it went out I called it in and they replaced the filter but still didn’t fix the problem. This place is a joke. Don’t move here. There’s plenty of places in Abilene that are cleaner, actually fix your issues, and won’t turn the water off constantly. This has been happening for years. I should have listened to the warnings from countless people that told me NOT to move here, but I couldn’t find any other vacancies at the time. Huge mistake. They take major advantage of military members. If I could leave zero stars, I would.
First things first: THE NIGHT I MOVED IN MY CAR WAS BROKEN INTO.Let me start with Jennifer was a big help and very polite any time I needed to talk to her. Jane on the other hand was never helpful and quite frankly rude, if you have issues or need help with something always ask to speak to Jennifer. I never thought that the rest of these reviews were right but in the end it is. The water is turned off (typically) 4 out of 7 days a week for “repairs” you will get an email sometimes and other times you have to call to find out. Also they say it’ll be only be off for 2 ish hours and it always takes more. I had an issue with my A/C last summer and it was out for a few months with having 1 window unit for a month and asked for a 2nd and it seemed like a burden. I found out that they were replacing the stairs when I opened the door to find my stairs already removed luckily I didn’t have to work that day but still very inconsiderate. Once I moved out I talked to my new apartments about these issues and they were shocked that they were still open (I now pay $850 for a two bed room 2 bath and 2 covered parking spots a membership to a workout center and they take care of any issues I have within the same day). I also found out that it costs over $200 to clean an already clean apartment if I had known how over the top this would be I would have gotten on my hands and knees to clean the grout myself but knowing how it came when I moved in this was more clean! They are some of the nicer apartments in Abilene but all the issues you have to deal with is not worth it and the outrageous amount they make you pay.(side note: trash is always piled sky high near the trash cans weeks at a time by other residents looking like I literally lived near a dump) HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANY OTHER APARTMENTS OR RENTAL HOMES IN THE ABILENE AREA.
Absolutely loved this place. Most amazing staff to interact with. Jennifer and Jane made me feel right at home. If I ever return to apartment living most definitely will be back to Mill Creek. Large spacious apartments, gym, pool and office snacks where a plus!! Thanks Mill Creek
Avoid at all costs. Rent will go up due to utility bill increases that are calculated based on how much the other people in your apartment building are using their water/gas. You will not be shown the equations that the management office uses to determine these costs. The office is staffed by two people who, while lovely in and of themselves, are routinely closed during open hours to leave the building, which means getting packages can take an upwards of 45 minutes, and residents can often be seen waiting outside in the middle of the day for an employee to arrive back.Additional causes for concern are frequent water issues/shut offs, lousy washer/dryer machines, dangerous streets within the complex that are prone to flooding during and after rainfall, and history of theft within the apartment complex and its cars.
Most of the apartments look nice and renovated, the washer dryer hookups were nice to have but the place was more on the high end. The staff was super friendly, big plus. Now there were plenty of issues. First, constant water shut offs but they were... bearable. My biggest issue has been the AC though. For most of the summer, my ac wouldnt drop below 83... AT NIGHT. I had to get a portable AC because it was so hot during the day. Whenever i called to have the issue fixed they said the temp wouldnt drop below 20°f difference from the temp outside. Obviously they didnt want to replace the coolant because it wasnt 103° at night...Only reason it stopped, was because i moved
DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Been here a couple months and there’s literally something wrong everyday. When i first moved in there was dog hair literally everywhere. They claimed they cleaned the carpets but my vacuum says elsewise. The water is off EVERYDAY!! Literally. The maintenance is rude. Our AC/Heater never works when we need it to. Worst place I’ve ever lived.
Worst experience ever!!! Water shut offs almost daily!!! Dirty and old , no matter if they add gray paint and new light switches! Managers make rules as they go and promise one thing and pull out with another! From a person that is not from town, I was left with a really bad impression.such a shame.
If I could rate them NEGATIVE stars, I would. I thought it would be a great place to live but the management company that owns this place is very despicable. I cannot go into specifics for legal reasons but they are untrustworthy and will screw you over. Upper management will avoid contact with you even when you are given their information. They have no empathy towards your family, safety, or well being. Their maintenance is terrible and haphazard. No precautions were taken when performing the maintenance and an issue that should have been handled by licensed professionals was not. I will never recommend this place. NOT ever! If I could post videos here I would. Also seconds later after posting this review on their facebook, mine and other negative responses were deleted.
The buildings are old and falling apart. When you complain about something like the ceiling leaking they say we see that alot. They also never actually fix anything they just cover it up until it breaks or leaks again a few months later. I always immediately notified them of maintenance issues yet it took days for someone to ever come check on my problem and even longer to be fixed. Absolutely not worth the money.
⚠ WARNING ⚠ STOP AND READ ALL BEFORE APPLYING, Managed by Monarch property management, the same crooks, liars, thieves and home invaders [entering your apartment without notice or approval whether your there or not which is illegal] and taking your money for applications when theres no available apartments and telling you your credit isnt good enough [i witnessed this myself as the courtesy officer for another apartment complex managed by Monarch where i lived] and liars, they will tell you anything to get you to sign a lease but that is a mistake. The Maintenance is terrible either never showing up [i had a severe leak in my dishwasher flooding the apartment below me and for 8 days they never tried to fix it, they just sent a kid to tell me not to use it and it leaked non stop] or from tenants calling me on the security phone complaining about maintenance leaving things dirty and leaving trip hazards, leaving front doors to their apartments open or unlocked. I had given them notice before i moved in that i could not give them a months notice because i often traveled for my job [Federal Protective Security Contractor for Homeland Security] and they were fine with that as i was receiving a discounted apartment and i was on a month to month basis so i couldnt give a months notice, after i moved in they charged me full price, never fixed any of my maintenance requests and after witnessing them taking money for applications that they knew they had no apartments to rent i gave them 2 weeks notice and after i moved out they charged me a bunch of made amounts because i didnt give them a months notice and reported it straight to the credit unions without sending me a single notice, just out of spite and so they didnt have to give me my deposit. CROOKS, VENDICTIVE LIARS & THIEVES that trash peoples credit without a second thought like hateful little children.
Great location and clean, I Love ❤ the clubhouse because there is so much to it then most places in town, Great floorplans and love the fact that there are units with fireplaces, The staff there are very friendly and helpful, and the fact that Millcreek is so close to being in town but yet on the edge to make it feel almost country living in my opinion, Great place to call home 🏡

2022-04-21Water gets shut off all day at least 2 times a month if not more. Very frustrating to say the least. The staff is nice but I have 3 pending orders in since last week and no one has come to address these. I have been here for a while, but lately, its not been a good experience 😕

2021-02-23I lived here for a year with a roomate, and a close friend of mine still lives there but is going to be moving out soon. The management was nice, the grounds were well kept, and the pool was clean. Never had any issues with the dogs at the (small) dog park. The parking lot could use repairs, especially the entrance on the right side, but in a jeep I had no real problem with that. The washers and driers are a good distance from where my apartment was, as were the dumpsters; but it’s not hard to throw stuff in the back of the car, and bring it around that way. They only had options with carpet, but they were decently sized. Not an awful experience, but nothing amazing. I wasn’t particularly fond of it.

2018-05-06I have lived here for 6 months now and use this apartment as a second home for work. And, yes there have been water issues several times during that period but it hasn’t had much of an impact on me. It’s usually up and running by the time I get home. However, to give bad reviews using that as the main point is kind of inappropriate as there is no secret that this is an older property. People would know that moving in here. As I am also a home owner and have owned several homes, it is common knowledge that things break and as a property ages, this becomes more frequent. But the property is clean and the management, Jennifer and Jane, have always responded to my needs quickly and professionally. I needed a pet friendly apartment too, and would not have considered anything else. If you as a current or future resident need the same then maybe you should be willing to accept some occasional problems. I’ve never had any problems with electricity or anything else. And the maintenance department has fixed a few local issues for me in a very timely manner. I’m happy here. I wish it had a bigger kitchen, but that’s a personal preference.

2020-05-11⚠️⚠️WARNING READ BEFORE RENTING HERE⚠️⚠️I lived here for 1 year, and this was the worst place I have ever lived. I was counting down the days until my lease was over. When you first look at this place everything seems all perfect and friendly but after you move in the switch is flipped off.-The AC in the workout room never worked, sometimes it would be up to 90 degrees in there.-Water was turned off 2-3 times a week, and BS excuses were made blaintly lieng about the actual problem. Their water shutoffs have been a problem for years!-Pool is rarely cleaned-Laundry machines sometimes will be all broken-Goodluck getting your mail because they seem to always be at lunch.-Management doesnt care about you after you have moved in.-They dont enforce rules about people picking up their dogs poop.-My AC stopped working 2 weeks after moving in, after calling maintenance more than 5 times and getting BS excuses and realizing they had no clue what they were doing or just simply didnt care I decided to sit in an 85 degree apartment for months in the summer.-Their pictures they post are out dated, fake, or might not even be of the apartment you will be looking at!!-Their remodeling is a joke, they dont hire professionals. Their paint job looks like a 7 year old did it.-They will enter your apartment whenever they want, even without notice!!! They claim they give notice but they sometimes dont!!-2 months after moving in, my apartment smelled like mold.-Most of the 5 star reviews on here are from new google accounts that have only made 1 review towards mill creek.Overall worst place I have ever lived and every time I drive by, we laugh because Mill creek is a joke.
