I’m extremely happy with my experience with Mr Appliance. My oven went out several weeks before thanksgiving and they responded extremely quickly to get it fixed for me. They were quick to respond to my call, quick to schedule me and very professional. They saved thanksgiving!
Jeff from San Antonio Mr Appliance arrived at our house promptly. He was very clean, wore booties and a glove, and knew exactly how to repair the freezer drawers which were frozen. Unfortunately, a small amount of water was still in the slides, so he had to return to dry them. They are working beautifully now. He did not charge us for the second visit. We were very satisfied with his work, his appearance, and his knowledge. Besides, he is a nice guy.
Trying to get my refrigerator repaired by Mr. Appliance was a fiasco. The technician said it was the control board and ordered the part. It was going to be an almost $700 fix. Came back the following week, said their supplier shipped the wrong part. Ordered it again, still the wrong part! Apparently the technician got the serial number incorrect. Finally got the correct part, installed it, and it didnt fix the problem. Now he said it was the compressor and quoted me $1700 to fix both problems! At this point, I have been without my refrigerator for over three weeks! I spoke with the manager who said theyd lower the price to $1100. While I was contemplating whether or not to authorize the work, I received a tip from a friend that Sears still services Kenmore products. I found the number and called Sears. They had all of my information in their system, said the compressor is still under warranty and the part would be free to replace with a $99 labor charge. Ultimately I found out it was never the control board and was the compressor all along. I canceled my order with Mr. Appliance and expressed my disappointment and demanded a full refund of the $330 I was required to put down on the part. Their manager said I wouldnt have to pay restocking charges on the parts but I was responsible for paying a $130 diagnostic fee. When I told them I would be filing an official complaint with the BBB, they agreed to the full refund. The guys are incompetent and dishonest and I will never use them again and will tell all my friends to stay away from them. This was the worst experience Ive ever had with a contractor. If I could give them a ZERO STAR rating, I would.
The only drawback in my experience was that the part was not the correct part, but they did everything to correct the issue and came back when they said it would. It was an oversight on Samsungs end, but they worked to correct the error and were honest and ethical about it.
I would not recommend Mr. Appliance. Imagine taking an obviously deflated tire to a tire repair shop and them charging you $99 to tell you it needs air, and then quoting you $1,000 to put air in the tire. This was basically my experience with them. It felt very unfair and dishonest.
Matt came to assess my dishwasher. He was courteous, and professional. He thought he had solved the problem but unfortunately it was more extensive than we expected. I would call this business to repair any repairs I need. It was a great experience even if it ended up needing to replace the dishwasher.
Daniel called before coming, and arrived early in the 2 hr range I was given. I was so pleasantly surprised that he was able to fix our microwave! He diligently assessed the appliance and ultimately found the cause of the issue. He fixed it and we were on our way! All in all I was very pleased with the experience. Masks and booties included!
We scheduled for a technician to come out and look at our dishwasher because it was not heating the water to clean the dishes and it was not drying the dishes at all. Mat was the technician they sent and he ran a cycle and told us it was operating as it should. When we told him again that it’s not even drying the dishes, his answer was it’s because we didn’t have a water softener. (What!?). He also told us that the reason it wasn’t cleaning our dishes wasn’t because it wasn’t getting hot enough, but because we were rinsing our dishes too well! He said we were supposed to just scape most of the food off and put them in the dishwasher. So he didn’t identify what the problem was but he still charged us the $99 diagnostic fee. Calling the office was no help. The lady I spoke with wanted to send another technician out. So I asked her how much experience did this Mat have that came out and was told that he had been with them for years. That did not give me any confidence in any other technician they may send so I asked to be refunded since he failed to diagnose the actual problem. Of course, she would not do that. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Setting the appointment was easy and the person I dealt with was knowledgeable and professional. As promised I received advance notice before the repairman arrived, including his picture. Mat was very professional and did a great job, and I felt the charge was very fair. We had a large wine refrigerator that was leaking (Mr. Appliance was listed on the manufacturers website) and thankfully it wasnt anything major. Mat had to contend with a lot of water and mess but he got it done and Im appreciative.
Great job and communication. I had Mr Daniel Cantrell and he was very professional. I had asked him about another issue with an appliance and he assisted me on it.... out of his job scope but really went the extra mile with the customer..... that is how a business expands and flourishes. Will use again if needed. Again Kudos for hiring Daniel.
Our drawer-style Sharp microwave stopped working. Mr. Appliance not only came out quickly, they were the only company that Sharp approved that answered the phone! Good thing. They are very professional, clean, and did not give up on our issue. Still waiting to hear the final verdict (they took it back to the shop because Sharp basically gave up on them, huh??), but our technician was extremely pleasant, Covid safe in all respects, and just a good guy. Highly recommend.
I reached out MULTIPLE times to two other business, and left messages for them to contact me. Neither of them called. Finally called Mr. Appliances and was able to schedule an appointment the same day. Problem was resolved in no time at all. Will definitely be my FIRST choice next time I need an appliance repaired.
Gabe called ahead to tell us when he would arrive at our house. He was polite and prepared with tools, forms, etc. He listened carefully, asked diagnostic questions and went to work to repair our cook top. The problem was solved quickly and thoroughly. The cost was appropriate for the work done and time spent. We were very satisfied and will use Mr. Appliance again if an appliance needs repair.
Gabe with Mr. Appliance has serviced all of our Thermador appliances at least once in the Kitchen. They are all 13 years old and have started to break. Gabe has been able to fix everything. He is always on time. Courteous. Knowledgeable. Love having him come out to the house.
Perfect Gentleman!Worked with knowledge of appliance; gave useful suggestions to improve product performance; gave option as to how to address problem (pump not strong enough to push water ); but best of all was attentive to the work at hand, was punctual and courteous.
We appreciate the fantastic and on time service from our technician, Gabe. He was completely professional and did a great job keeping our washer and dryer alive. We have used Mr. Appliance before and will definitely use them again, if the need arises. We highly recommend Mr. Appliance!
Extraordinarily professional, quality service. Confronting the possibility of trying to replace a refrigerator with delivery times stretching into 2021, we were pleased to find ours was just fine with the replacement of one small part. We will certainly contact Mr. Appliance, again, should we ever be in need of appliance services.
Called “ mr. Appliance” to service refrigerator,Technician came by first time said we needed a new fan for icemaker. Returned a few days later with the part then said it needed a new evaporator coil going to cost like $1200. We decided not to pay that and wait he put the refrigerator back together. We ordered a new refrigerator at $1500 then decided to have another technician to come out and check the other refrigerator after we receive the new one. This tech we have done and used for years unfortunately he was busy when we first called. He told me not to get rid of fridge on the phone and do exactly what was wrong came out and put a $20 part in and $150 service fee and refrigerator is good as new. Not only do I feel like Mr. appliance quote try to take advantage of my elderly parents. they broke the back panel inside the refrigerator…. It’s hard to find good service these days.
10/21/2020: Jeff called 15 minutes before his arrival time to let me know he was on his way. He diagnosed my problem (rotary fan) in about 10 minutes, ordered the part to be shipped to my home and returned on Monday to install the part. Quick, efficient and professional,
Absolutely would recommend. They stuck with me and figured out what was wrong with my fridge after cooking it a total of 5 different times and only charged me for the part that solved the problem. Very punctual and communicate very well on when theyre coming. 10 out of 10.
It took a week to get them to schedule an appointment. I gave them the gate code and they did not put it in their system. The morni g of appointment they turned away because they could not get in gate. When i called back tbey said the driver has left the area and could come back in a week. That would be two weeks for an appointment. Do not use them they dont care and have too much business.
$248 per hour is a high hourly rate. Thats what I was charged to install a part that took the technician an hour to install. That charge did not include the cost for the part. Because of that high hourly rate, I will not use Mr. Appliance again. The technician did the job.
I had called because my dryer stopped tumbling during drying cycle and they sent tech to my location. Matt had to replace belt and pulley and was out before I knew it. Extremely fast and reliable!!!!! Will continue to use this company for all appliance repairs in the future. For the service provided it was an exceptional call to have them to do the repairs. I had called a mobile repair service before them and it turned out to be a circus act from hell. I was skeptical to call another service but these guys totally changed the ball game to be a winner!!!!!!
Called them when my dryer stopped working properly. They came out the same day to diagnose the problem, then came back two days later to install the new part. Friendly, professional, quick service. Hopefully won’t need their services again soon, but if I do, I won’t hesitate to call them back or recommend them to anyone!
All around great service! Making an appointment was easy and I really appreciated the text updates I received throughout the day, in regards to my appointment window timeframe. Peter was informative, friendly, and took the time to help us with all of our appliance issues, even though late in the afternoon. I would highly recommend Mr. Appliance.
Contacted location and spoke with individual who answered phone. I had an inspection done because I am selling our home and know the part that is needed. She advised It was 99.00 to send a technician out for a diagnosis. Ok no problem. I have the model of everything needed provided by inspector. My question was do you have the part and can I get this done by tomorrow. Again the price was not the issue. She was not able to guarantee they would but only that it needs to be diagnosed. This was not very helpful. I needed them only to stay they have the part and could get it done. Hopefully I find another company today.
Terrible...NEVER, Never use them.My husband had a professional relationship with the owner and that did not help. We contacted them to do a repair on our dishwasher in late Oct.1. Told them not to show up on 10/31. They did. So we allowed him in.2. Sam said it needed a new mother board and gave him a $200 deposit, would be out on 11/6.3. No one contacted us on 11/6. Called on 11/7 and left message. NO response.4. Called 11/8. Brenda said it was on the notes for 11/6 but scheduled for 11/13? Part was not in yet so now scheduled for 11/10.5. On 11/10 said would be out by 2, but did not show up til after 4.6. Heres the worse part. That tech, Ray pulled out the dishwasher and found it was a POWER CORD that was under recall. First tech did not even check the electrical connection!!!7. So that took 2 more weeks to get the cord.8. My husband then connected with the owner, Paul, to get a refund. We did not get the refund until 12/27. I had to go physically down to pick up a check. They stated that they could not refund to our credit card company???PLEASE, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Let me begin that I do not typically leave reviews. But my experience w/ Mr. Appliance has been so bad that I simply cant avoid warning others. My experience w/ Mr. Appliance began in January of 2017 when my wife called and requested that someone come out to check our gas stove because it was taking a very long time to light. They sent a technician out who told us that the part that we needed replaced would take 5 business days to receive. He asked us to pay half down (approx $250) and that we could pay the balance after the stove was fixed. So we did. After two weeks without hearing back from the tech or his company we started calling them requesting an update on this situation. We called weekly, left several messages and no one seemed to be able to provide an update nor were we ever passed along to a manager. After a month of this we asked for a refund which we never received. The said that there was a processing issue causing the refund to be held up. And still no manager (Ray Castaneda) ever had courage call us back (we asked for him to call MANY times).Over two months after our initial meeting w/ the technician the part miraculously arrived and we get a call letting us know. Since we still have yet to receive a refund we told them to go ahead and do the work. They sent the same tech back to the house for the repair. During the repair the tech destroyed the track of the drawer that is under our stove AND the repair has not fixed the problem. When the tech left our house the drawer would not close more than halfway! The saga continues...yesterday I called and asked for the company to send the tech back out to our house to inspect the damaged drawer and the stove that does not work properly. I was told that we could have the last appointment of the day and this it would be no later earlier than 5:00. I told the dispatcher that this worked for me because I could not get to the house any earlier than 5:00. The dispatcher ASSURED me that the technician would not get their earlier than 5:00...probably more like 5:15. At 3:27 we received a text message letting us know that the tech was on his way. I called the dispatcher immediately letting them know that I was not there to meet the tech. Her response was that several of his afternoon appointments had cancelled and that he was getting to our house much earlier than anticipated. When asked if I wanted to reschedule I told her to have her boss (Mr. Ray Castaneda) contact me. He still has not called. So to recap:1. We had our initial visit w/ the tech the week of Jan 232. We were told that the part would take 5 business days to arrive and to pay half down and half after repair was complete.3. After 7 business days we began calling and leaving messages about this part but received no update on the issue or call backs.4. No manager ever talked to us even when we requested to speak w/ one.5. After approx 3 weeks we requested a refund and never received one.6. Approx two months after our first appointment the part arrives and we agree to let them do the repair since they never refunded our down payment on the part.7. During the repair they destroyed the drawer track under the stove so badly that the drawer would not close more than halfway when the technician left.8. The stove still does not light properly.9. Their manager (Ray Castaneda) still has not contacted me.Disappointed does not begin to explain my experience. Be advised.
Not only did I have to wait a week from the day I called to have a technician come to diagnose a problem with my refrigerator, but on the day of the appointment, the technician arrived towards the very end of the 9-hour window I had been given for the “emergency service” to be provided. What is worse, the diagnostic I received was exactly what I had diagnosed myself visually. Namely, my compressor is running, so it must be “something else.”The quote I received to repair the “something else”, or the “seal problem”, as the technician called it guessingly. (He had first said that it might be either the compressor or a “seal problem”, so I asked if the only way to fully diagnose it was by trial and error. At that time he did say that “it must be a deal problem, since the compressor is running.”)
Mr. Appliance texted and emailed me before they came, and provided a picture of technician who would be showing up at my door. They wore shoe covers, rolled out a welcome mat, and left the kitchen sink area cleaner than when they arrived. As a single working Mom, Im wary of who I allow into my home, and it is important that arrive on time. I cant say enough about the professionalism of the technician and entire company.
We had them come and look at our dishwasher and stove. I knew the diagnostic fee and had every intention of letting them do the repairs in which it would’ve been waived. They gave me an estimate of 450 dollars for each appliance. The parts are found online (with warranty) for only 100 meaning they were going to charge 350 for labor. I called to complain feeling that this quote was unfair Considering you can buy an entire dishwasher for that price. I asked if they would discount the diagnostic fee considering it wasn’t even worth repairing and they refused to help in any way. They should have some type of discount if they find your appliance “un-repairable”. Total ripoff and unfair estimate gouge!
I really wanted to be able to give this company a good review, but I dont think this situation is really salvageable. I contacted the company as they are an authorized repair agent for my Liebherr built in fridge. The receptionist was lovely on the phone, I got the appointment for the serviceman to come out to have a look at the fridge. He was on time, very nice, put covers on his shoes, etc. The repair estimate was $400, which I was fine with, and they ordered the part. Apparently. 6 weeks and numerous phone calls later, I am still waiting to hear from the parts department on the status of the part. I have been told the person in the parts department is out of the office or Im waiting for them to contact me, but they arent getting back to me from the receptionist. I get told someone will get back to me, they dont. The lack of communication is maddening. The receptionist was lovely and the repair guy who came was excellent, but the not calling back is completely unacceptable.EDIT: The day after I posted my original review, they called me to tell me the part had arrived. Apparently it had been ordered, but no one could tell me that when I called. I got the repair man out straight away. I got to pick the time that suited me and got an email the night before with a two hour window to expect the repairman. He called when he was on the way and arrived within the allotted time. Again, he was lovely to deal with. A week later, the repair appears to have worked as the fridge is working properly.Overall, there was some up and down, but I would be willing to give them another shot if I needed a repair in the future.
Im handy and knowledgeable with repairing appliances but was busy with work so thought Id just let a pro handle it. This companys repairman quoted over $300 for replacing dishwasher drain pump, which is total BS. I found the part needed for my dishwasher for $26.00 online. Had it repaired within 30 min. I think this company really only wants to collect the $99 service call fee so they quote high on repair parts and service so you refuse them doing the work. Then they skip away with $99 for about 30 min work. Quite a profit, there.
Although you were unable to get the part we needed for our dishwasher, we appreciated your honestly. If the first company would have been honest, we would have saved a lot of money and heartbreak and purchased a new dishwasher right away. We will call you again and refer you to friends and family.
Absolutely horrible. Do not return calls. Still waiting on the repair of my refrigerator. Had I not called today, I would not have known theyve now pushed it out almost another week because theyre still waiting on the part. Do you really think 2 weeks is a reasonable amount of time??? Ever heard of expediting a part/fedx? Ive had to call almost daily only to be told they would call back with an ETA. Never a callback. Ive had to follow up myself. I have to wonder if Sears carries the parts on their trucks...Ill be calling them tomorrow to find out. RIDICULOUS.
Technician replaced ice maker etc. very efficient. However about an hour later I still have NO ice and the ice maker makes a clicking noise.Called mr care was told I’d get a call back or technician and nobody has contacted me me.I gave 5 stars on survey but now dropping it to one star. No follow up
8-year old LG refrigerator stopped cooling. Called Mr Appliance of San Antonio. Service tech diagnosed faulty compressor. New compressor was ordered and replaced, but had a noise/vibration problem. Follow up service call corrected the problem. I would use this company for future appliance service if required.
Very good experience with this company. No hassles. Scheduled the repair online, repairman called me that morning and said hed be here within 20 minutes and he was. He introduced himself and covered his shoes when he entered. Very professional. Im just disappointed thatmy washing machine needed such a costly repair that I had to decline.I will use this company in the future and I highly recommend them.
The first appointment the repair person was rude and unprofessional. Appointment 2 was a different worker who didnt bother to diagnose the problem, just replaced a part and told me to call if its still broken; It was. 3rd appointment no call no show. Had to call sears to get someone else.
I had my disposal replaced by this company and the guy had to come out twice to look at it. He made a mistake and did not unplug something properly and it caused my dishwasher not to work. I ended up having to pay a second repair company to come and fix their mistake. Ive called and sent multiple emails over the past 6 weeks and have yet to get a response. I will never use this company again.
We called them out for a broken washing machine & paid the very high $85 service charge (actually $92 after taxes). We figured that since it was supposed to be credited towards the repair cost it was fine. We were told that the timer on our machine was broken and that it would be close to $500 to fix... on our $400 machine. NOT PLEASED. We called another company who quoted us $100 for labor if we bought the part. The techs who came out were very nice but weve learned our lesson and will not be calling them back.
I would strongly discourage using this company for any repairs. My microwave suddenly would not turn on, so I called this company. I was told there is a $75 charge for coming out, and that could go towards any work done. (It was actually over $80 because of tax, which was never mentioned, and I have never seen a tax on this type of charge). They quoted a fix on a microwave of over $400, and said it needed a new cavity thermal cutoff. I find it hard to believe it could possibly be that much to fix this problem, especially after looking up the cost of this part. So, I decided I would rather purchase a new microwave because it would be cheaper. They were unwilling to let me use the $80 towards the install of a new microwave. They were not looking to help us, just make a quick buck. If they are going to charge such outrages prices on coming out as well as repairs, then they should just tell people they do not repair microwaves, since it will almost always be better to just buy a new one. When a customer agrees to an upfront service call cost (especially a high one), they do it in good faith that the company will do there best to help them in anyway that they can. This company had no interest in actually helping us, they just wanted to bill us as much as possible, without actually doing anything.
In Sept 2018 they came out the house to repair our dishwasher. They came back out 2 times in Oct to reinstall the dishwasher because they didnt set it accurately upon repairing it. That last 5 months and their jimmy rig job just broke again. Now, conveniently. they dont service our area. Avoid this company and their shotty work.
I called Mr. Appliance concerning a door that locked on my washing machine. They did not come when they said they would. When I called back, they said they would have to reschedule in a week. They charged me over $80. to come and tell me what was wrong with it but the total to fix it would be 389.00. I went to Lowes and bought a brand new one for 399.00. I would definitely not recommend them.
Mr. Rip Off would be a better name for this lousy excuse for a company. The ice maker on my refrigerator broke and we unfortunately called these bungling buffoons in March. A part needed to be ordered. Over the course of two months, we never got the part; rather, we got excuses like: the part is back ordered; our supplier ordered the wrong part; andwe got a new supplier, but the part is back ordered. As any reasonable person might have, we cancelled our work order and now have been working for 6 weeks on getting a refund. Yup. 6 weeks of lies. I just called. Paul or Ray are always out of the office or out to lunch. I will call daily and update when I can.In the meantime, if you are in a charitable mood and love giving money away as well as good storytelling from the receptionist, call this place. Otherwise, call a more respectable and reputable business. As an aside, why is zero stars not an option for this wretched place where customer service went to die?
I would not use this company again. I had them install some Orifices to my gas range and months later i had a genuine tech come out and tell me that they installed they didnt install half of the stove right. Now i am stuck paying another Appliance tech to fix their spotty work.
I’m giving this a 4 star because you have helped me before but I feel like 3 star right now. After getting the poet back on plus a cleaning and new filter, we still have no ice! You have replaced the entire condenser not long ago so I’m not sure what more can be done. I’m sad because by now, I feel I could have bought a new one and this unit is not old.
GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY!! They have a diagnostic fee of $99, and they charge this whether they can diagnose the problem or not. Technician basically said to replace the parts he thinks don’t work, and it was so expensive, we didn’t know it was going to fix it or not. SCAM!
Mr.Appliance’s promise is if the jobs not done right, we will make it right. We can attest to the fact they truly follow this plan. We had a problem with a dishwasher which is very high tech with many complicated interfaces. Jeff indicated that the error code provided by the machine indicated a water leak which allowed water to collect in the bottom of the case. He repaired the problem and ran several tests during which the dishwasher worked fine. However, after a weekend away, on Monday when we attempted to wash dishes, the dishwasher stopped and the same error code appeared. We called Mr Appliance again and Jeff returned to deal with the machine; he contacted the manufacturer and found they had recently found a flaw in the mechanism which could be fixed by the technician. The part was ordered, Jeff came the same day we called to say it had arrived. He installed the part and we have had no additional problems.

2022-01-31The hinges to our Wolf oven needed to be replaced. Another provider graciously passed on the repair, citing the need for a qualified repair person who understood the complexity of the appliance. Matt from Mr. Appliance was just that person. He understood the nuances of the oven and how the door functioned for it to shut properly and therefore heat. It wasnt easy, but Matt patiently sorted it out.

2022-05-06I called in desperate need of a quick repair. They answered the phone immediately, got me scheduled, and moved me into a same day slot when there was a cancellation. They understood that things were time sensitive and worked with me every step of the way. The technician was professional, and kept the house clean while working. Communication was constant and direct. Would 100% use again!

2022-02-12Gosh darn! Didnt know whether to call Mr. Appliance or Mr. Electric (both are franchises of Neighborly). Turns out after the $99 diagnosis fee, we actually needed the brother of Mr. Appliance for our oven. We did not choose wisely this time. Wish they would find a way to share that dadgum diagnostic fee. (Have to mention Matt the technician was great! He gets 5🌟)

2022-06-29Technician was able to install new icemaker into a new side by side refrigerator as it did not ship installed from manufacturer. . Scheduling staff had great communication
