Music & Arts in other cities:
Dropped by today 9-12-20 the door was locked wanted to bring in an instrument for repair and was interested in purchasing an amplifier. It was during normal business hours and I saw a young man working so I knocked but he didn’t have the decency to come to the door to explain they are not allowing walk ins due to Covid-19 but rather made gestures and spoke through a closed door with a mask on so I couldn’t read his lips finally he gave hand gestures signaling me to call from the phone. Seriously? I called and explained I was there to bring in an instrument for repair to which he replied “leave the instrument at the door and step away and I will get it” and proceeded to ask for my information. NO THANKS. Absolute worst experience ever.
Classic bait and switch. We were told that we would be financing a new trumpet for my daughter. Well the new trumpet never came. When we called they said they would call us when one came in. Then my daughter needed an upgraded trumpet so we went back even though they lied to use about the first trumpet. So apparently when they say that they will apply the amount that you paid to another trumpet its not how it works. So they tell us that the discounts that they have on the new trumpet is not available if we transfer the balance.Way to treat a disabled veterans family. Im just saying I will be in contact with an attorney and your luckingbyour dealing with my wife and she will not let me loose cause she doesnt want your feeling hurt.
The staff here is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. If customers learn to treat retail employees with respect, theyll get respect in return. It works that way in any place of business. Rental instruments, purchase instruments, accessories and lessons...everything under one roof.
My experience was a mixed bag. A tell-tale story. It was a long time ago, in the land of Alvin. Texas. I was driving along and I could sense that my cat had knocked over one of my guitars. This has never happened, but I just had a feeling. So I thought I better get some new pics, because once they fall on the floor I no longer use them. Any who. I stop in this place and manlet me tell you.they had the wrong color. I only use certain colors, you know, for the tone. I felt very depressed about this and decided that maybe I should try a different color. Its hard sometimes because no one tells me.what to do, not even me. And I knew that if I was to make a decision, it couldnt be on an empty stomach. So I went to Jack in the box. I got a chicken sandwich with onions and pickles. 2 tacos, and curly fries. 9 packets of ketchup latter it hit me. I play with my fingers anyway and that I was getting all worked up for nothing.
I got a saxophone from this place and they said I was gonna rent it and at the end if I payed all of it and wanted to keep it I could, and when it first came in they gave me an old saxophone and they said if you decide to pay it all and keep it then well give you a new one, well I payed all of it and when I asked for a new one bc they gave me an old one, they said they dont do that and that the old one is mine. I cant do anything about it, now Im stuck with an old scratched up alto saxophone.
Very rude i asked to have my son measured for his violin and the guy just took a violin told gim hold it in palm and said it looms about right i asked more than twice to meaaure him to make sure than my account has been hacked tqice so i have a walmart visa credit card and according to the guy he needs a real credit card that mine waant a real one what the hell it has money its a credit card very rude stuck up people i dont recommend them
How this place stays open i have no idea. The young staff is friendly , but have no idea how to run a business. My daughter was there to take guitar lessons for just over a year, which were cancelled or asked to be rescheduled on a regular basis. Sometimes I would get a text notification of lessons being cancelled as we were pulling into the parking lot. There seemed to be very little communication between the instructors and management as neither seemed to know what was going on. For our last several weeks there, there was no manager on hand to resolve any issues. I was told several times that the district manager would reach out to me... a month later, still waiting.... I am still owed a refund for 3 one hour lessons that did not take place because the counter staff had not been educated on how to perform refunds prior to the managers departure. Highly dissatisfied.

2022-03-17This is a music supply store not to be confused with a record/cd shop. They do instrument repair, which is why I came in. They also do vocal, piano, and guitar lessons. The staff is super sweet and very helpful!

2021-09-19If i could rate this store a 0 i would. The technician who serviced my clarinet (that ive had 15 years an never had a problem with before) did not do everything he said he did such as: seal the outside wood and the bore (which can crack the wood), seating the keys after replacing all the pads, not sanding the cork after replacing which is important so that it doesnt rip or tear, he took my original thumb piece off without permission because it looked ugly and he didnt like it. He was extremely rude when i brought the dried out wood to his attention and he said it was supposed to look like that but its not. Ive been in concert and marching band an my clarinet has NEVER looked like that. HIGHLY displeased.

2020-09-16My husband took my clarinet to this location. I had been wanting to try and play my instrument again.Ive had my clarinet since the mid 1980s when I played it in junior high and my freshman year in high school. (A relative had given it to me. We were the only owners of this clarinet. It was made in 1972!!)My clarinet really needed to be repaired, cleaned and polished before playing it again. I wanted to be sure it was in good working condition. When I did get my clarinet back I was so happy to see how good it looked!!! Clean and shiny!! New pads and corks!! The mouth piece and the bore (inside of the clarinet) was even sanitized!!It hadnt looked this good since I first got it in the mid 1980s!! The repair team did a fabulous job!!The store manager is nice and helpful too; which I appreciate!Thank you so much Music and Arts store in Alvin!!!

2020-10-09My daughters rental trumpet had a soldered piece come off and I thought it would be a pain to get it replaced since I ordered the instrument online. I had the coverage and called ahead to check if the Alvin store had the same instrument to exchange. Darryl helped me by looking through my acct as well as informing me that there was a piece waiting for us! We walked in twenty minutes before closing(7pm) but Darrryl surely showed his energy and enthusiasm in helping us get the exchange within minutes!Never knew or visited the store before but this was a pretty good experience with Music and Arts!❤

2021-08-28Horrible service - school made us order from this place. Placed order and when I drive 1/2 an hour to pick up the stuff they were missing one thing we ordered. They simply said oh well, you have to come back to pick it up. I asked if they could send it to the school and they said, no you have to pick it ip.Excellent customer service???? I don’t think so

2021-06-16Its not just this gamestop, its every gamestop. I bought a game that was new but it was obviously preowned. They lie to their customers, and pull this new game bs all the time. Why is Gamestop still a thing??? We need to get together, and support our local video game stores. Local video game stores around friendswood truly care about their customers, and will go out of their way to address any concerns you have of a game. Heck Player One video games fixed a game that I owned, a game that I never purchased from that store. These stores can be ready to start carrying the new stuff if we support them just a bit more. Gamestop needs to go. Almost all the used games I have bought from that place didnt work, and the staff there are typically rude to me and go out of their way try to make me feel bad about not getting a membership. I understand that is their job, but after I say no 3 or 4 times I mean no. Its like this everytime I go to gamestop. Its a terrible time. I am only going there one last time to buy ys9 on the switch (and thats if I dont order it first from amazon or something). Just one last time AND thats just a biiiig maybe.
