N Tune Music & Sound - Abilene, Texas in other cities:
I took my nephew to N Tunes to rent a trumpet. I received great service. We were able to rent a nice trumpet for a reasonable price. With the price of the rental, maintenance was one of the services included. Eventually my nephew will actually own his trumpet. In the case he decides the trumpet is not what he wants to play anymore while we are still in the rental phase, all he has to do is return the instrument and no more payments have to be made.
My wife came in over a week ago. She visited a few pawn shops and took some pictures of amplifiers. Now, she doesnt know anything about music or musical instruments (her words). She wanted to surprise me, so she wanted some help and advice. The associate she spoke with seemed taken aback by the pictures, and treated her questions with a cocky, condescending tone. Needless to say, she didnt get the help she was looking for, nor did she buy anything from you. Not everyone who walks into your shop is a musician. Treat people with respect. She could have driven to Guitar Center and got better customer service. We want to support local businesses, but you have to lose the attitude.
The instruments are very expensive and its backed by the fact that they cant or wont work on certain brands of instruments. So instead of buying a $300 trumpet for your kid, you have to do the rent to own on one of theirs for over $1000. Not much variety in peripherals for instruments. The folks are nice though.
I’ve been interested in purchasing a Martin acoustic guitar and came in to play some different models to hear how they sound and play. I have played guitars for 40 years and use a flat pick. I was told I cannot use a pick on the Martin guitars? Nobody buys a $3-4K guitar without hearing it the way They intend to play it. Luckily, Deathridge Music (several blocks away) sells Martin guitars and didn’t have a problem with me playing the guitars. In-Tune, ‘cmon....
This place is awesome top notch knowledge. And o so professional. Bui is on of those kinda talents you just flat dont find now a days. His knowledge precedes his wit. All the staff I awesome. 👌 BILLY Get back to work we all mi$ ya. Cant wait till my next trip. Thank you friend see ya today.
Parents Beware!!!!! Renting an instrument from N Tune is a risk. After returning, watch your bank account for several months as they will suddenly charge you again months down the road. The people working in the Abilene store are generally very nice, but the rent to own and billing is done through the odessa store and the people there are impossible to deal with over the phone. Look for other options such as the local pawn shops. We purchased a Cello worth several thousand dollars for a fraction of the cost. It was even cheaper by half than the rent to own at N-tune and we paid less than half of their instrument.
I guess you have to be dressed nice to get noticed by most employees there. I just got off work and I work in a shingle yard , so I was dusty. I wanted help, waited patiently, when a nicely dressed lady walked in and she was helped right away. I finally interrupted the guy on the phone for my question about reeds for my son.
Came here because my sons amp for his electric guitar he got for Christmas quit working. They checked the cable for us first and that was the problem. They have a lot of electric guitars but funny, they didnt have any guitar cables. Maybe they got hit heavy for the Christmas rush but they found a cable they had that would work and didnt charge us anything. You made our sons day!
I wanna know why yall are seliing knockoff guiatrs at authentic price. Bought an alvarez 3 months ago at $1000 just lost my little brother and am dealing with expenses was gonna try to sell it so i can have miney so i can eat. I have been to 4 different shops and all say the same thing. The model numbers and serial numbers are not authentic. I paid authentic Alvarez price for something that is only $500 brandnew and Chinese made. Thanks alot.
Make sure that if you decide to rent to own that they tell you as they are rushing you through signing a rental agreement for a childs band instrument (only a few hundred people show up to these things when you come to our town!) , that you are responsible for returning the instrument to the store or the road guy yourself. The billing continued and when I called...then I got the explanation (its in the contract Maam) ....THANKS.Now I get to try to track down the horn at a school closed for the summer with a band director who has moved away to boot, and try to figure out where it is...Road guy is down for surgery...So yea....THANK YOU FOR THAT EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE THERE N-TUNE!

2022-08-14Been to the store often, and never have felt welcomed. Came in multiple times wanted to spend money and was either ignored or they didnt know anything about the gear. If I need anything music related Ill just go to encore music.

2022-05-09Very awkward experience. Went in to ask some questions about some audio equipment. Didnt get much for answers, and had the feeling I was being rushed. Dont think they were taking me seriously almost like they didnt think I was serious about spending the kind of money the equipment cost. Oh well their loss.

2021-10-16Ntune may not be the biggest guitar shop in Texas but they are local and friendly. They are my guitar shop and have been since I was a kid and was under a different name. I will continue to be a customer!

2020-10-01Decent help; curious staff; unusually concerned about the spread of COVID-19 in a town that seems generally indifferent to it; clean place; seemingly well stocked with instruments; personal instruments may require 72 hour quarantine.N-tune reached out to me to ask how to improve. Wow. This is a first after writing many reviews. I will bump them up one star for simply being professionally proactive. My earnest suggestion is service with a smile upon entrance. I say this respectfully.

2020-02-22Staff did an excellent job restringing my guitar. They have a room full of low to mid range (price) martins which was nice to see. I am glad they do not allow people to use picks on there guitars- scratches should be made by the owner on an upper level guitar. Thanks for your assistance... If in Abilene and need service on your guitar or want to purchase a Martin I suggest this place.

2017-04-11Pretty nice place, the guys are knowledgeable and down to earth. I like shopping here and their prices are very reasonable. I own all my instruments so I cant say anything about renting, but this place is the best music store in Abilene.I had them set up a semi hollow and install new pickups in it and they did a great job. It was set up exactly how I wanted it. The pickups were at an appropriate height and everything. Best part, it was all done by the end of the day!
