Great library. This locale opened summer 2010 and is in a beautiful new building. Theres a substantial calendar of events to entertain children/promote reading and ample room to sit and peruse a title. The selection in house isnt bad and you can reserve any book ATX libraries own online and have it delivered to your local site. Its extremely convenient. Dropping the book off also isnt a problem as theres a drop box thats checked every morning. If a book is late dont sweat - its only 25 cents/day. Located near Burnet, I love the accessibility and services provided.
I am fairly new to the Austin Public Library system as I had been living in Hutto. But, I have to say of the branches I have visited thus far, this one is hands down my favorite! It has a book return drop box, so you can return outside library hours or if you just dont have the time to go inside.I also love the facility itself. It looks new and is very well kept, no clutter or books/DVDs/CDs strewn about. I also like that the quiet rule seems to be enforced here as there were not unruly children running around unsupervised or talking on cell phones as I have witnessed in other branches. There is a self-checkout console and the holds pickup section is quick and easy, so you can be in an out in a flash! But, I must say, the people here are what make the big difference for me! All of the library staff here that I have interacted with have been very kind, helpful, and seemed to be in a genuine jovial mood!Definite plus for APL across the board is their awesome website! Super user-friendly with a lot of neat perks!
I love this location. Since its relocation and renovation, this library seems larger than the other locations. The library staff have always been very helpful and friendly to me. The book and dvd selection is great; plenty of titles to choose from. Since it is located on Steck Ave, it is easily accessible via Mopac or Burnet Rd. Plenty of parking as well.
First time i visited this library my cellphone was stolen..the staff were anything but helpful..more concerned about covering the librarys reputation..the manager mike needs to get off the meth..real bug eyed goober..this library doesnt deserve one star rating..had to give it that to leave review..they live in a democrat fairytale

2018-12-13Nice public library and a little hidden away from the hubbub of Burnet Road. I really like the late hours that theyre open, as well as the artistic touches here and there. A quick tip: to find some of the power outlets, especially in the seating area in the back corner, pop out the metal plates from the floor. The outlets are just beneath the plates.

2022-04-21Good place. Get all your book needs and check out the other amenities, there is A LOT more than I expected, and I bet you expect either. Seriously, hit them up and find out.

2021-05-21Service was excellent. The young man brought everything I needed to get a Library card. Checked on my address do I wouldnt have been unexpected charges later. Explained my options when/if I moved...gave me lots of very useful information. The fact that he brought everything to me in the car was a Blessing as I am disabled and getting in and out if the car is difficult for me. God Bless and protect that young man always. Thank you

2021-11-17Still the same great staff, but somebody at headquarters needs a spanking! The new format with half the books is a disgrace. Its a library for heavens sake! Its meant to have shelves full of books. I walked out in disgust. A sad day indeed!

2014-03-20A long standing tradition I have when I move to a new city is to join the public library on my first day. I dont know why more people dont take advantage of this service. Free books, movies, music, and so much more. This location seems to be recenlty built or newly remodeled with lots of soft seating for reading, plenty of desks with power plugs so you can work on a laptop, and plenty of computer stations if you dont have one. The staff was very polite and helpful when signing up.

2019-07-15Clean, quiet, all the printers work and the front desk staff are a hoot. Very friendly people here and while the selection is not all that wide, they make up for it in quality. I have been to some trash-tier libraries before and it’s nice to know I have a gem in my own backyard.
