NTB-National Tire & Battery in other cities:
Had a leak In one of my front tires, I took my car to this NTB location to have it looked at. They found it to be a leaking valve stem that was damaged from a previous install ( thanks discount tire) anyways! The techs here were awesome. Took care of my car and I was in and out.
The NTB on Watters in Allen is the BEST! I brought my car in a couple years ago for an oil change after I moved, and everyone who worked there was so nice. Now I bring my car here for any work I need done (so long as its within the shops limits). Ive had a TCM change, tires, belts, gasket leaks (my car is getting on in miles, so things are starting to go), you name it. Every time I come in everyone is so nice and courteous. Theyve never tried to sell me on services I dont need, and theyve never talked down to me because Im a woman. (Sad I have to mention that, but girls, you know what Im talking about.) Seriously, these guys are awesome. 5 stars all the way!
The whole team was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, but Isaac took the extra time (even though they were very busy) to explain my options and help me decide what was best. Rather than pushing every repair as critical, he let me know which ones are the most important to address and in what order. So I took care of what was urgent, and will be scheduling time to return and fix up the rest... Definitely recommend this location and team!
I had a really good experience at the Allen NTB from the first interaction over the phone with Jacob, to todays interaction when I got my car serviced, where another pleasant gentleman helped me. They were very busy and even apologized for the time it would take to get everything done that I needed, which no need to apologize because, first come first serve. I already knew what services my vehicle needed since I was recently quoted a price at another local repair shop, and was so pleased when the cost of my repairs ended up being quite a bit less than my initial estimate. I feel they are knowledgeable in their trade and never felt once they didnt have my best interest at heart. Ill definitely be coming to this location from this point on.
Bait and switch with the 2 tires deal. But 2 get 2.Once you agree then then say oh no. Your tires don’t qualify but tell you at the end of the sale and not prior. Then you end up in a bad relationship with the tire company in your neighborhood. Why? Because they tried to cheat you and you tell 10-50 people and they tell others. NTB. It’s not worth it to cheat someone, who knows. The business you do business with on a personal lever may return the favor. Or revenge. Be kind.
Horrible! Had an appt for 3pm - they said they’d forgotten to pick up the tire and it would be 30 minutes. At 5:30pm they said there was a miscommunication and it would be another 30 minutes but could pull car in and do alignment. WITHOUT new tire. Incompetent staff. Stay away from this place.
Run DONT walk, away from this place. They try to take advantage of people that arent as knowledgeable about vehicles in order to make more money off of you. My boyfriend (who knows a thing or two about vehicles) took his truck there to fix a caliper because it was locking up. They replaced the caliper but as soon as he drove off the lot the brake light came right back on. After several trips back theyre now saying that the other caliper needs to be replaced because its supposedly leaking. $1,000 later and the BRAKE LIGHT IS STILL ON. While he was having them take a look at the sensor he told them to go ahead and change the oil. Only to get a call from them informing him the battery is dead and needs replaced?! It was a brand new battery!!Like I mentioned above, they clearly attempt to take advantage of people who dont know any better.
Bill and Adam took exceptional care of us on our visit. Had my tires rotated and alignment done in a short amount of time even when they were swamped. That is customer service at its finest. Thanks to the staff and NTB for making our visit exceptional. We WILL be back as my entire family has trusted our vehicles to NTB. This visit reinforces our choice in auto and tire care! Thank you!
Wouldn’t pass my truck on state inspection because the horn wouldn’t sound after truck was repaired elsewhere. Tried to charge my wife $140 labor (their rate) to fix it. Took me one look at it and about 2, maybe 3 minutes to fix it. One of the wires had pulled from a plug so was simply disconnected...Don’t waste your time with this place.
I absolutely love the manager Isaac. My fuel pump went out on me 2 days before I was moving to Tennessee. I was coming out of the parking garage behind NTB and gas just started pouring out from underneath my car. I walk over to NTB and Devin was just lifting the bay doors.I asked him if he could take a quick look at it and he said Sure!Long story short........ Issac ( because I have an older style car) searched for a fuel pump. Devin and Issac made sure my car was fixed by the end of the day and at a price that was incredibly reasonable!I would and will recommend this NTB to any and all. Customer Service Was The Best!!!
Jacob was awesome to work with at this location when I had a tire wear issue. Helped me understand what might have gone wrong and worked with me and manufacture to make it right and was able to start work on the car same day. He also kept me updated on the progress of the work. I was very pleased and will take my vehicles to him for every tire need.
I went in on sunday Jan. 26th for an oil change. The staff was friendly and helpful. Chris (I cant remember his last name) was kind and pleasant to work with. Asked about my free tire rotation included in the cost, and I at first declined, and he explained the recommendation behind why they do it. They got me in and out of the store in just over an hour on a SUNDAY! They have replaced my battery, and this is the second oil change Ive had with them. If service continues to go this direction, they have a customer for life.
I needed new tires for my car and my wife called around to several shops and got several recommendations and quotes. There was a miscommunication regarding the initial quote, but they worked with us to find a suitable alternative. Billy (manager) was awesome to work with, all of the employees I interacted with were friendly and pleasant, and they got me in and out of the shop on a Saturday afternoon with new tires and an alignment in a very timely manner. Would definitely recommend to others.
Chris helped my mother and I out with her battery yesterday. I arrived in town and discovered her car would not start after setting for an extended period of time. I called the store at the recommendation of the AAA guy. Chris explained what we might need if I got the car to him and he was exactly right. He came out and looked at the car as soon as we arrived and had us on our way within 45 minutes. I am so impressed with his knowledge and helpfulness, but more importantly his kindness and excellent customer service skills. We will be telling everyone we know about this NTB and Chris. Thank you again. He truly saved our day.
If you want a lousy wheel alignment then this NTB tire is the shop for you. After fitting new Michelins, they did a four wheel alignment. Terrible job. Car pulled left going down the highway with perfect tire pressure.Had to eventually take it elsewhere to get it done right. Questionable management at this location. Surly customer service from some of the “Service Advisors”.I switched to Discount Tire - although they don’t do alignments, they get everything else right. Will never be back to this NTB.
Had a very pleasant experience. Staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. I had part of the inner plastic on my car scraping up against my front right tire and stopped by at this location hoping they could take a look. The gentleman at the front was very quick to help me. He pinned back the plastic for me, free of charge. Great location!
One of the mechanics told me I had an oil leak coming from my engine after getting my usual oil change. Put in dye and sent me on my merry way for a week. I came back to them quoting me around $4000 for all these new parts and leaks from every which way from the engine! Ended up going to Valvoline and was only charged for $400 for a valve cover change. Never going to get anything done here ever again
Overall everyone is honorable, noble, and righteous. These individuals are dedicated and hard workers and always take good care of me.I always feel welcomed and like I’m home when I’m at NTB.For those of you whom are employed at NTB that may read this in the future, I want to tell you all that I’m proud of each of your work ethics and commitment.May peace and blessings be upon you and and for all those whom read this review.Go NTB!!!- -Dr. Jeremy D. Hall
We went by to get an inspection today. They are EXTREMELY racist. We park our Range Rover in front where there are 6 different mechanics looking at us. We waited about 5 minutes, even honked the horn once to make sure they knew we were there to get serviced. One mechanic walks out with a huge beard to get in a black pickup truck, he says “You’re not gonna get our attention” and walks by our car and goes to his truck. We literally are at about 8 minutes waiting to be helped with EVERYONE staring, smirking and never helping. All of them were white. We are two African Americans. We own 2 businesses in Allen and have never been treated this way. If you’re a minority don’t go here!!!!!!!
Words cant explain how my experience was, very deceiving and janky people work here. I paid for stuff they didnt do. Looking at the previous reviews now I wish i would have looked them up before spending my money here. Waited over 4 hours to get 4 new tires and etc. Spent over $600 here. Never again will i use this company. See reviews before spending your money here, youll get more and save more going to another company. I normally go to Sams club or Walmart to get tires and never ever have I had an issue with them. With this virus going on they are closed. I say to NTB Train your employees to be honest, youll get 100% more customer loyalty and good word of mouth and reviews! People wont mind spending more if your honest
I went through the same thing Kent B and others are saying. I took my sons truck in to get a simple patch on a tire. After waiting 45 minutes I couldnt understand what was taking so long. I look out the window and see they had the truck up, but they were looking in the engine, under the truck, etc.. I went up to the counter and asked what they were doing. They said they check all cars that come in. I told them I did not want them to do anything but patch my tire. They did not need to be under my hood. They told me the truck needed new shocks and a new battery. I told them my son was going out of town and we would deal with it the following week. He told me the battery would be dead by the time he returned. I felt I was being scammed and asked them to shut the hood, put on the patch and I needed to pay out right away. It was like pulling teeth getting them to do this and bring my car to me. I was there for 1.5 hours. This week, I asked around and found an honest repair shop. I took my sons truck in again to get an inspection and asked them to please look over the truck carefully in case anything was needed. I told them another shop told us the shocks were bad. Guess what! They called to tell us the truck had NO issues. The shocks were fine, the battery was fine, etc... DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP. THEY ARE DISHONEST!
Not giving them 1 start for service. Just policy. We have always bought tires from discount tires. We bought from NTB less than 6 months ago. Bought two tires special order, never flat tire was not offered a warranty. At discount tires we always received a warranty. Covered the tires anywhere we are.Got a whole in one of the tires. There wasnt anything they could do. They didnt have the tire locally. It was in North Carolina and Florida. And it was would cost me over $300.00 for one tire. No thank you!! Discount tire took great care of us as usual. Had the tire and less than $300.00. And offered a warranty.
Made an appointment by phone a few days before, but when I arrived it looked like they didnt have it in the system. They said the oil change and tire rotation would take 45 minutes to an hour, and they were not that busy, so my car went in right away. An hour and a half later, I asked the man that checked me in if it was normal for the service to take so long. I had been watching the guy working on my car and he was moving really, really slowly. At 1 1/2 hours he was just getting around to topping off the fluids. The guy that checked me in, and took my money, didnt apologize, even though I had pointed out that the service took a total of 1 hour and 40 minutes. I will not be returning in the future.Follow up: I was contacted by their corporate headquarters and offered an apology and a brand card that has a variety of discounts to be used at any of our 750+ retail locations. It was basically a one-time 10% Off coupon. Not enough to make me want to return to this chain.FOLLOW UP #2 - I just pulled the receipt for the service and noticed that they charged me $72 dollar, plus tax for a full synthetic oil change, instead of the promised $69. And they also never reset my maintenance light or put a sticker on the window. AMAZINGLY DISAPPOINTING!!!
Two stars for being nice people, but beware they are salesmen. Took a tire in for a patch on my lunch break and they said they couldnt patch because the nail was too close to another previous patch job. I could buy a new tire they said lol. Also, they decided to pop the hood and check the front end enough to try and sell me a bunch of unneeded services. Took the car to discount after work and they patched it up without trouble. They showed me the tire and the two patches were at least 6 inches apart. All in all, wasted a bunch of time for them to be dishonest to try and make a buck. Wont be going back to this location or any NTB.
I took my car here only to get my tires replaced after getting my car serviced at my dealership the day prior. The only time they called was to try to upsell me things, but never called to say my car was ready. I sat in the waiting room for an hour after walking around for an hour and a half and even asked clarifying questions and they didnt even ask for my details to check. I finally asked how long it would take and my car had been ready the whole time I was waiting. Wasted nearly 3 hours and ended up being more expensive than the dealership.
Let me tell you a story of bolts.Ive had two cars into this shop over the past 4 years. Easily spent 5 thousand dollars here (one is a Mercedes). I go to them for simple things that anyone can do (tires, brake pads, oil changes, etc).So the most recent car I brought there was a Toyota Highlander I bought used from an out of state dealer, it was getting the above mentioned simple things (plugs, oil change, brake pads) and the only thing out of the ordinary was an air filter housing, that I found broken when I bought it. Rather than simply order the entire housing (which is available online for about 100 dollars, from what I can see) they found someone who would sell them only the lower half of it, but that means you dont get bolts, which was the whole reason for it being broken to begin with, the previous owner broke the bolts trying to get the upper half of it off.As it turns out, the local OReilly store sent NTB the last two bolts they had that would fit it, and NTB lost them. I understand that mistakes happen, so I just ordered the two bolts from a dealer (around 5 bucks). Turns out the dealers bolts dont fit, so I called NTB and told them this today, and their offer was to measure the threads for me.Related side note, I was selling my Mercedes this past week after getting the Toyota, and in trying to isolate a plastic rattle before the first person came to look at it, Ill give you three guesses what I found... Two missing bolts from the engine cover!Heres the thing folks:1) There are no extra parts on cars. The engineers are smarter than you.2) If someone who happily sends thousands in your shop to avoid the sweltering heat of doing a job him or herself, offering to measure threads when you lose bolts is the wrong answer.
Billy, Jacob, and the team at this NTB are fantastic! I was in the area visiting family when I started having issues with my A/C, and Billy and his team went above and beyond to get my issue resolved since I needed to drive home to Houston. Their customer service is top notch, and I definitely felt like these guys went out of their way to take care of my issue as quickly and cost effectively as possible. Billy even offered to connect me with an NTB in the Houston area should I need anything fixed in the future. These guys are awesome!
I cannot say enough on how exceptional my experience was getting my car serviced at NTB in Allen! These people really care! I am so grateful to both, Paul and Chris, for all the attention and help they gave me to find the best prices, and knowledgeable service that resolved all my car issues!
Awesome experience! Exceptional service by the staff and Adam who got me scheduled for a routine oil change I needed, and the staff were very friendly and conversational with myself as well as the other customers before and after me. If youre looking for oil change or other work for your car, Id recommend this shop as youll be in good hands!
Shopped the internet for local tire prices. NTB had best prices, best selection and they had the tires I needed in stock. I selected the tires and scheduled an appointment. I arrived on time and was taken care of immediately. Abraham told me the tire I selected wasnt right for my mini-van. Thinking I was going to get the up-charge treatment for tires I really didnt need, he explained why I needed a better tire but the pleasant surprise was that the better tire for my vehicle was less expensive than the one I selected. These guys were very professional, friendly, honest and I am more than satisfied with my new tires. Thanks to employees like Abraham, Ill definitely be back.
3 year unlimited front end alignment has enabled me to get twice the mileage out of my tires that I usually get. Professional staff, reasonable prices, customer oriented. Ive been a happy NTB customer for 20 years. Ive tried Discount Tire, Walment, but I keep coming back to NTB. Saving 25% at Walmart or Costco just not worth the headache over the lifetime of the tire if you are taking advantage of regular rotation, balancing and front end alignment.
Honestly, the worst customer service I’ve experienced in a veeeeery long time! Guaranteed that you will leave with MANY more issues than you came in for & they won’t own up to any mistakes or even be apologetic for the trouble. They first replaced a catilatic converter for me, charged me $2,100 & they repaired it wrong, so the smoke was going inside of my car instead of out... I was up there on 2 or 3 different weekends trying to get this fixed and they weren’t timely or professional at all. They pretty much made me feel like it was my fault that they had to order a new, special part for THEIR mistake of replacing this with a bad part and incorrectly to begin with??? Then, this week we replace a battery and all of a sudden my car now won’t start or drive at all....and it was driving perfectly fine before, the only reason we even replaced the battery was because of preventative maintenance. It was a small switch, figured they could handle it. That was very wrong judgement on our part. My car broke down the 2nd time driving it with my “new”battery, I’ve never had this issue ever & when we took it in, they decided to tell me that it was a completely different issue and that it would cost me $1,000 to fix it. Alright. How did they not catch that a week ago when they had my car then? There’s NO way to miss the loud noises it was making, so clearly they messed something up because it wasn’t doing that a week ago. Anyway, we called the mechanic down the street not associated with NTB & asked for a quote for the same new “issue” NTB claimed my car now has and quoted us $625. Almost 400 dollars LESS than what this place was trying to charge us for the same issue. Point blank, NTB is Overpriced for extremely low quality service and parts. Honestly an “I’m sorry for your inconvenience” would’ve gone a long way for me, just to feel understood in the frustration I was having, because it was extremely frustrating. but there was no way these men would’ve ever said that.I took my business elsewhere and I would suggest you do the same to save you the insane amount of trouble that this place has caused me. There are plenty of good mechanics in Allen that are worth your time and that are respectful and honest that are NOT at NTB. NTB is careless and will twist just about anything and everything in order to be right. It’s ridiculous, but just sad too. If you’re looking for trustworthy & reliable, this is definitely NOT your team. But would highly recommend downtown Allen mechanics (not NTB) for these types of services if you’re looking - They’ve been great & easy to work with so far!
BUYER BEWARE! After years of being a loyal NTB customer, I will not use them again.I called NTB Allen at the beginning of May to set an appt and make sure the tires I needed were in stock. In addition to new tires, I explained that I also needed an oil change, an alignment, etc. The guy I spoke with seemed frazzled, he didnt even ask me what tires I wanted. So, I called back again later to verify my appt time and the tires. The second person I spoke with said there was no record of my call and no appt. So, he created an appt for me (I have a photo of that appt booking on the NTB computer where the tech had typed in every service I requested--including the oil change). I came on 5/17/19 and left the van, explaining what I needed again. NTB called me a while later and suggested a few more maintenance items, which I approved. I picked up my van a few hours later. Little did I know, they did not do the oil change. A month later, my oil light came on and I took my van to the closest NTB in Frisco. They told me there was one quart of oil (out of the six quarts required) and my engine was messed up. They topped the oil so I could go to an engine mechanic.I visited NTB Allen and the guy at the counter went in the back to talk to his manager to explain what happened. He came back and said there is nothing they could do for us, that we had to call NTB corporate office. I called NTB corporate and they took my info and said they had to call the district manager, Bob. NTB Corporate called me back later and told me the district manager said he wouldnt do anything for us because the oil change was not on the bill, so I should have caught the fact that the oil change wasnt done. Not a single manager tried to reach out to me. In fact, they seemed to be playing a massive game of pass the buck.On 06/24/19, I visited NTB Allen and requested to speak to the store general manager. He gave me the courtesy of a face-to-face conversation, of which was very cordial. I explained that we were unable to purchase another car at this time, so we were going to drive our defective engine until it quit on us. I told him about my experience with the mechanic who looked at the engine, Christian Bros Automotive, where they did a free engine diagnostic, made recommendations to us on how to prolong the engine, but suggested that my husband drive it because they did not think myself and our kids should drive it in its current condition. CBA also offered free oil checks to make sure the oil was at a safe level. I pointed out the irony to the NTB store manager that CBA had done more for us--and showed us more compassion--in our first visit than NTB had done for us after being loyal NTB customers for years. The NTB manager told me he had no power to do anything. I asked for a face-to-face meeting with the district manager, Bob, so he called Bob to ask him. Bob told him that he would not meet with me and that they were not going to do anything for us, that they did not put an oil change on their invoice and, therefore, were not responsible for our engine problems. Bob added that if I called customer service he would tell them the same thing. An employee of the store mentioned to me that they only hear from Bob when Bob wants their sales to improve. Yes, Bob, no doubt refusing to talk to your customers is going to go far to raise your bottom line. Stand by for more details as they develop.
Horrible scheduling system!! Ive been to many different auto shop before. I made an appointment for an all-wheels alignment at 1.30 pm. Came there, the rep said I have to wait for another car to be done before they get to my car, in approx. 30 mins. At 3.30, 2 hours after, my car still hadnt been touched, the rep said even thoigh I got my appointment, I will have still wait in line. No apology, no incentive for their fault at all! Poor customer service!
Had problems with the manager at this location on several incidents. At 160K miles I requested they rotate my tires. The manager indicated I needed new tires. When I looked at them, they were not worn and not even close to the wear bar. The manager then explained it was wearing unevenly and needed to be replace. I went ahead and just took it to another NTB on 75 not have a problem rotating it. At 167K miles I happen to have the same manager and again he indicated I needed new tires and wouldnt rotate them. I said whatever and left. Then I took it to an NTB in Richardson and again no problems that store. At 175K , same manager told me I needed new tires. So again I rotated them at another NTB, again no issue. I then came back to this store next day when the manager was not there. I asked a technician if the tires were too worn to be rotated. His OWN technician indicated the tires were fine, but didnt recommend them to be rotated because the thicker tread was already in the front... (of course because I had already rotated them at another NTB the day before) The manager doesnt know how to check tires and is just wanting to sell you a new tire.
4.5 hours To balance and rotate my tires and fix One tire. Customers who had very similar needs Came in after me and left before me.Those customers had no appointments and they were in-and-out. Terrible customer service, They kept trying to avoid eye contact with me or even given me any updates they assumed that I had another vehicle and kept saying your car will be next one hour later they pull in another vehicle, I asked them whens my car going to be worked on, they reply your car will be next, finally a 1/2 an hour later they pull in my car to get it fixed. Never take your vehicle to get any tires done through these guys at all.
Dropped vehicle off for oil change and tire rotation and balance. Never received call that vehicle was ready - had to call (about 3 hours after drop-off) to find that vehicle was ready. Went into store to check out and discovered that oil change was never performed. This store used to be a quality NTB store. No one greeted me upon arrival - had to walk around to where managers office was located to get someone to help me. The work areas in the lobby were messy with spray bottles and other assorted trash all over them. I will remain a NTB client, but will have to travel to another store in my area to get better service.
Im very disappointed with the service on 200 S. Watters Rd. in Allen. I went a month ago and brought my sons car for new tires. They were supposed to order them and give me a call. No one ever called me to let me know if they got the tires. I called 2 weeks after and spoke to the manager and told me he would look into in and call me back. Well again no one called me back. I went today July 18th and someone was supposed to call me to ensure the tires fit my son car. Guess what no one called me back. I am very dissatisfied with the service and lack of communication. I spoke to the manager Mike Porembo and asked him to give me the # for headquarters and he didnt have it. I asked him who is higher than him and he said it was only him. He acted like I was annoying him. So then I called Irving the place I go by my job and person was helpful provided me info on how to complaint and even apologized for that store. Now my car that I drop off at 9am wont be ready until 3pm and my son will have to miss work. Yes they were busy but the person who helped me did tell me he would call me in 30 min to see if they fit. It is now 12:40pm and I called and received the worst service EVER! We are paying customers and not trying to get anything free but I do expect good customer service. I recommend everyone who receives poor service from this NTB update their website so maybe headquarters will go and monitor or provide training on how to treat customers.
I had to have a tire repaired due to a large nail protruding into the tire. The staff showed me the damage to the inside threads of the tire and recommended installing a new tire, which I had them do.Several days later I had to make a 400-mile round trip to Central Texas. The new tire gave me a much safer feeling than if NTB had patched the tire.
DISHONEST, poor customer service, will NEVER go back. Had to give the one star I did to post the review. Took vehicle in for a simple nail in tire repair and was told I needed a new tire. Took vehicle to another shop that repaired the tire free of charge when I told them what had happened to me here. Was told that it was TOTALLY repairable-without question. Waited 15 minutes when I went back to pick it up just to get my keys as the rep was trying to sell a set of tires to another customer. I had to ask another employees to assist.
Very impressed with the tire sales department. They gave me a really competitive deal on some Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and a road hazard warranty, beating Discounts price without road hazard! The techs also made great effort in taking care of my lightweight wheels. The car came back without even so much as a scuff, which is more than I can say for most shops! If you can, go see Kal. Hes a good guy who takes care of his customers and is very fair.
This location has done a phenomenal job at getting work done promptly and working with the customer for the best outcome. They work hard at all times to ensure customer satisfaction. Jacob and Billy specifically work incredibly hard and fight battles for customers to guarantee the highest degree of customer care and satisfaction. Additionally, theyre fast, prompt, and easy to talk to.
These dudes gave my friend a bad estimate. I barley know anything about cars and I knew that that was a horrible estimate. They asked 4k for 400 bucks work of repairs from another place. They were totally going to scam him for some oil leaking. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!! Take your business to a small local repair shop instead.
This is truly a one stop shop. I was a 10 year customer of Discount Tire but burned out getting new tires and having to go somewhere else to get an alignment. And certainly tired of getting ripped of by the dealership prices on other repairs. This time I lucked out!!!!! Not only did I get my new tires and an alignment, NTB replaced my shocks and struts, oil change, and car inspection. ONE STOP SHOP. My car rides beautifully again. Thank you NTB (Mike) 200 S Watters, Allen TX!!!!!
Julia Pendleton is not telling the truth. I was a customer there today. She and a man stopped in the middle of the parking lot and honked the horn for five minutes straight. They never asked for service. They never came in the front door where customers are supposed to come for service. They never even spoke to an employee, they just honked. She must be a miserable person to try to hurt others by lying about them.
This place deserves praise. I had a leak on a tire the morning of July 4th. They were the closest place that was open. I know no one wants to be working when everyone else is off. But this location had me in and out in under an hour with a brand new tire at a fair price. Great location and people.
They refused to rotate my tires during a routine oil change/tire rotation because they said they needed to be replaced. (24,000) miles on a new car w/ regular rotations. I took it to Discount where they told me I still had at least 10,000 miles on them. Nice Strong Arm Tactic NTB!!!
Dont be fooled by their black Friday buy 2 get 2 promotion, they tack so many different fees on that youre paying way more, not less. Go yo discount tire and theyll get you the same for much less. Also their advertising makes it sound like alignment etc is free, its not, youre charged for everything.
So I go in to the appointment I set online to have 4 new tires and an alignment done. I pick the tire I wanted on line that the website suggested for my vehicle. Mind you I picked the cheap ones but Ive never had a problem with any of these brands from NTB in the past so cheap tires on my work Truck work for me. The man at the counter does his dog and pony for me and tells me the tire that the site suggested for me remember and that meet all specs for the type of truck I have arent compatible with my vehicle. Then he goes on to tell the only ones he has that will work on my Truck are $240 a piece Bridgestones. I laughed in his face. After I composed myself I called the NTB in Plano and talked to him about my experience and asked him who was correct. Needless to say the Plano NTB will be putting 4 new tires, an alignment and doing a state inspection on my vehicle tomorrow evening. Oh and theyre the tires Mr. Bridgestone said wouldnt be compatible. Since I would have been the only and probably last customer of the day at the Allen location( seriously they were all staying around without one Bay with a car in it) I wonder how Mr Bridgestone will explain the $700 job that went to Plano instead because I guess it wasnt worth his time to put the cheap tires on. Worth his commission I should say. My advice if youre thinking about using the NTB in Allen is use the one off Central Expressway in Plano instead. I never got Mr Bridgestones real name but if his managers sees this he was working the counter @6:15pm on 11/22/2016.
This location is by far the best I’ve seen. Jacob, and Paul are very helpful and understanding. I had issues with a starter and a battery. They made sure I was taken care of and made the proper repairs to get me back on the road. I would recommend this location to anyone they are by far the best!
Brought the car in to get tires mounted and get an alignment. I get that they didnt get the tire sale business as I bought the tires from Tirerack. But after dropping the car off for the scheduled appointment, I get a phone call stating the alignment could not be performed. Kal says the rear tires are rubbing on the rear struts (the car has shocks) so the shocks need to be replaced and rear suspension arms are worn out too. The fact is the tire and wheel size are the OEM size and do not rub anything, nor are either of those parts worn out. Also he says the rubber boot on the front suspension arm is torn and will need to be replaced, when in fact its a 3 piece urethane bushing with no rubber boot, which also is not worn out and in good working order. Once I come in to get a better idea of what hes talking about, he makes no mention of the rear issues and only says he cant do the alignment as the front suspension arm bushing is broken. I also get handed an estimate for just shy of $1000 for the unnecessary replacement parts and labor. To top it all off, they gouged every spoke on one of the rims with the tire mounting machine. Looking at other reviews on Yelp, Google, this seems to be standard practice for the store.
I went to the NTB in Richardson for my alignment. Some miscommunication up front. Desk tech told me I would get taken care of quickly. Waited for little over 2 hours and one of the techs came in and told me they wouldn’t be able to do my car at all today. I just took my keys and left. Not all NTB’s are the same, but Richardson location is definitely not up to par with the NTB on Spring Creek in Plano or the one in Allen on Watters Creek. I’m at the Allen location now and they told me it would be done before close in 3 hours. I’m about to get my car back now after 45 minutes. Allen NTB is the bomb. Great customer service on phone and were honest. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS LOCATION AND TEAM!!
Be careful. Complete RIP off. They recommend everyone needs a synthetic oil change for only one reason.... my computer said so. Took my 2010 Honda Odyssey in for an oil change today. That same car has had conventional oil change for the last 8 years at various places including this very store in Allen. Today the computer recommendation came out that only synthetic oil is allowed in that car. Luke who works here told me that he is not going to put in a conventional oil and if I want to go, I can leave. When I got back to my car to check my owners manual, the recommen there had no mention of synthetic. I confronted them by saying that if theres no requirement for synthetic well at that point the other person who I guess is the manager the starting being really abusive starting yelling at me on why we are arguing and all. In the end, he just said, ok I will write you up for service to get you out of my face.Needless to say, I left with him yelling back on me to never come back. The scam is to get people in for a $20 conventional oil change and then pressure them into a $50 synthetic by falsely saying thats the manufacturer recommendation.
Don’t bother setting up an appointment!I set up an appointment for a tire repair at 3:30pm,showed up 10mins early. The guy at the front acted like he didn’t see me,and did not say anything at all.A lady then comes in and finally helped me.I left at 5:00 pm without the service or communication from any of the employees. What’s the point of setting up the appointment,if nothing is done remotely close to the appointment time?
I bought 4 tires 6 months ago. Paid $800.00 +.I got a nail in one . Took it there to get repaired. I was told it was too close to the sidewall. The guy tells me he cant do it. ( the nail was actually on the tread about an 1-1/2 from sidewall. ) they were gonna charge me $20.00 to fix a flat. Took it to another tireshop. They fixed it, paid $5.00 problem solved. Never going back to NTB in Allen, Tx.
Not impressed. Went in to buy new tires and was told that I could not buy the tires I wanted because the tires on my car were run flat tires and they would only replace those with new run flat tires. I told them I didnt want run flat tires but they informed me it was their company policy and that I could go elsewhere for tires. So I did.Oh and by the way I went home first and checked the tires on my car. They are not run flat tires. There was an e4 marking on the tire that he insisted was the run flat indicator... turns out it was the inspecting country. Not sure if it was them being shady or ignorant. Either way I wouldnt let them work on my car.
I have had several good experiences at this store. I have been to NTB in the past and mostly satisfied; however, this store seems to have that extra step and making you feel a little more at ease and makes sure you are taken care of properly. No nonsense or suggesting work that doesnt need to be done. Will be happy to return
This NTB location have cheaters, here are incidents of unfair.1. Normal oil change would it would be around $20-$40, they charged my son $80, because he was ignorant he paid. They are opportunists, who dont spare teenagers also.2. When we went for wheel alignment, on phone everything was figured out after going they asked to drop off without ride back, then after an hour they call that some pump needs replacement which is not connected to alignment, they made us 3 times home to ntb without wheel alignment done. They are no good.
Great guys, got a flat there at Bethany and Central in the middle of morning rush hour, drove straight over, ruined the tire, but mine had 40k on them any way and needed replaced, they squared me away with new tires all the way around, didnt try to upsell me on anything, no appointment, they had me done in under an hour, didnt even miss a minute of work. My new guys for auto repair.
Absolutely rude to my fiancé about an oil change...refusing to do an oil change because there was no oil in it apparently...blamed him for intentional negligence when we were unaware of the situation. They were unprofessional and condescending, and talked badly about my fiancé in front of him like he wasnt even there. Tried NTB because of a coupon but will never ever come back. Stay far away from this place.
Very disappointed and they are unprofessional. Don’t come here. They set me up with an appointment they kept me waiting for 30 minutes. I push back my schedule just to be here and they told me something wrong with the system nothing they can do. What’s worse is that they just do t care and tell me to leave So that they can serve the next customer
DO NOT GO! One of the guys working there was thrashing on peoples cars! Flooring them in the parking lot. Even did a small burnout in front of me in some poor guys honda. Very unprofessional. Tried to talk with the manager mike about this, he did nothing about it. If u want anything go somewhere else. Other wise who the hell knows what will happen to your vehicle
I spent in this location thousand dollars but not anymore in any Ntbs. After they changing shocks and rear rotor and break pads always made terrible noise when i break.I took this location and 2 more different NTBs they always lie because parts under warranty. They told us breaks are dirty or everythings ok.When I took my local mechanic guy he noticed me break pad was moving.Long waiting time even you went with appoinment and watch from windows when they fix your car you will see a lot of unexperienced worker working on your tires it is not safe.
I went with appoinment.I waited 1 hour and they still did not check to car I left to store. Also I saw from window unexperienced worker not able to put tire working on the car it did not make me feel safe in this location.I was going this location years spend thousands their staffs changed this place terrible. After they change brakes and shocks I am having noise problem when i brake.I took this location and eldarado location before they said my car fine.Because parts are under lifetime warranty they do not want change.I took my mechanic mechanic noticed shocks have leak and break pads and rotor not kind a match make some noise.I am not trusting NTBs anymore.

2022-06-12Cannot say enough good things about this shop. I have been going to this one in Allen for 15+ years and I am always pleased with their service and prices. They are very helpful and make sure you know what to expect. I watched them explain to a young lady what to expect after work was done.2 thumbs up for Brian David, the man!!!

2022-07-12I did a lot of research on tires, and NTB had the best deal hands down. They also do alignments which some tire shops don’t do. The waiting area is great and has comfy chairs, coffee, and a TV with Directv. They offer appointments which is great as they were super fast. I’ve waited for several hours at tire shops before, but not here.

2020-09-18Very clean store, and very busy (my pic is from after-hours). Employees were professional and helpful. I had an urgent need for tires due to upcoming schedule, and they were able to accommodate by staying after hours. I was very impressed and grateful.

2022-06-13I don’t appreciate the way the older man at the front desk talked to the customer in front of me, and myself. We get that you’re the expert here, you don’t need to make people feel bad for asking simple questions. This is the only reason I didn’t move forward with their diagnosis. Have better customer service.

2021-12-18Worst tire shop on the planet. Here’s why-Wife had a nail in her tire, went to get it repaired. Too close to the side, not repairable. Fine so far. They showed to have one in inventory, but couldnt find it. They ordered from another store, said come back the next day. Next day they called and said the tire was there, dropped off the car. Got a call back they got the wrong tire, and it would be another day. Frustrating sure but it gets worse. Finally get the tire on and pick up the car. Next day the dash lights up with error codes. Take the car back, they say the sensors need to be reset. They reset them and send us on our way. Next day same issue with sensor errors. Wife goes back and told there is a nail in another tire, but the pressure is fine its not losing air and they dont have time to fix. Drive it for a few days and come back.Fed up I took the car to the dealership. Dealership says NTB put the wrong tire on the car, causing the sensors to error out. Dealership replaced said tire and car is back to normal. Car is new, under 5000 miles on it btw.Took the tire in question back to NTB for a refund, at least a partial due to it was now a used tire. However, Issac the store manager informed me that the dealership flat out lied to me, the tire did not need to be replaced. Keep in mind the issue was resolved from the dealership not the three times the car went back to NTB. Issac told me his shop and the wrong tire were not at fault at all and they will not take the tire back. I asked him if he could see any incompetence at all that his shop had 3 opportunities to fix it and they couldnt, he stood firm that the dealership are liars and crooks.I will continue up the food chain to recoup the cost of the useless tire that doesnt fit my car, but Ill never get the time Ive spent the past several weeks dealing with this clown show shop.

2017-04-11I’m quite surprised at how poorly I was treated by this NTB. I usually have had great service at the NTB in Plano, but this NTB is very different. I came Saturday at 6:45p.m. 15 minutes before closing but they had already locked up. I called expressing I had a flat and 2 tires that they gave me last time I bought 4 as they said I could keep them since they were still good. A guy came to the door and took the tire and jotted down my phone number. The next day he called asking me to come in with my tires and they would have to put them on as they could not replace the one that had the leak. I came in for about half an hour and then they told me they won’t put on my spare tires they gave me as they are used. I asked if he had a replacement and he said no . . .. I asked him if they could order it and he said we might be able to . . .. (after waiting for a solution) I asked what I should do generically. He said I guess you should order a tire. . .. I told him I would have to go home and think about it. He shoved my tires in my trunk with the rim out of the one and didn’t even bother putting one in the tire slot. I then called TireRack and found out I had a warranty. They would send the replacement to NTB in a day. I called NTB while looking at their website’s prices and asked how much it would be ($9.99 on the site). $21.99 he said. I asked about the price on the website and he said fine that price, but you need a $5.99 TPMS and $4.99 valve stem and $2.00 disposal. I asked about the website prices ($4.99, $1.99, and $2.00) and he said, “fine we’ll do those when you come in.” I then proceeded to call the NTB in Plano and he was very aware of the prices and said I only needed TPMS kit and Mount/Balance fee as the valve is included in the TPMS kit. So, I’m going to NTB Plano from now on and recommend them. Please avoid being price gouged to the Allen NTB.

2021-06-26Dont come here. I brought my car for ac diagnostic. They said all we needed was a flush and some freon so we paid for the service. 2 weeks later we have a massive ac compressor failure, which the manager admitted was due to low/high pressures. They say they arent at fault but no issues were found when they serviced the car and this massive failure happened 2 weeks after they touched the system. They now want to charge us over $1k. Robbery! Most dishonest auto repair place Ive ever experienced.

2022-05-21Whats the point in making an early reservation when they dont get to your vehicle until they close??? I recommend making reservations at another location. :-(
