Nice place for barbecue. This one didnt let you see what are they cutting or selecting as other places but meat was great. You order and they serve you. Sides were good too. Clean place and nice crew. They have tv with sports and background music. Not too crowded. Recommended
Best baked potato so far on this side of town. I’ve always gone to beef and bun however this spot tops it. Very friendly over the phone and in person. It’s also a nice spot to dine in.
Love their food and we eat here often, however, we ordered a fried Turkey for Christmas. It had hardly any meat on it and was dry and over cooked. For $85 it was not at all worth the price. Will continue to come here for dinner but will not order a Turkey again.
Post-Covid the spirit of entitlement seems to be out of control & is not necessary. That being said our experience with Old Hickory Inn Barbecue - 5 Stars. Hands down the best and freshest food we have had in a long time. Okra was golden brown and still warm and crispy. Brisket was perfect! Chicken fried steak was perfect! Portions were above and beyond. First time for us but not the last. Great Job!
I bought the three meat meal, pork riblets, sausage and brisket. The brisket was VERY dry. The sausage was salty. I expected it to be salty, but this was a tad bit more than i like. The mac n cheese was pretty good though. The green beans werent very tasty as they had no seasoning. I wanted to try something new since i always go to Brookstreet BBQ. I wont turn on them again. Go for what you know! I wont be back.

Delivery service is a joke, sent food with no bbq sauce and missed items. Onion rings barely qualified as Cooked. BBQ is okay if you like your ribs baked… Dine in service is probably much better

Best quantity, quality, and value of any barbecue restaurant anywhere between Houston and Friendswood. The food is excellent and the folks are always friendly. Its clean and comfortable. I highly recommend you go try it!
Food was good. I had The 2 meat special. Raymond was awesome. I am a long time customer, yet it was my first time for Curbside pickup . He explained everything well. They did leave an item off my order and I had to drive back there to get it. No one offered me anything for my inconvenience. I had to ask if I could at least have a drink. There was an apology. The food is good. And many of the employees are nice. I appreciate and try to always support businesses in my community.

Mother & daughters lunch down the drain. The BBQ brisket and chicken was lukewarm at best and extremely over peppered. The sides were cold unable to eat. $40 wasted. The only good part about our meals was the tea was fresh.
Terrible! No smoked flavor. Ribs not tender, brisket is dry. Potato salad taste like the only ingredient is mustard. Very dissatisfied. Waste of 40.00 on 2 plates.
Being that I live close by Ive eaten here and did take out as well. What surprised me is that items like the fried catfish plate is pleasantly good and plentiful. We even had the salad with sliced turkey and that was good as well. While I couldnt finish the chopped baker the potato was huge. There are no small portions here so you get your moneys worth. On top of that the staff is super friendly
This place is great! I have eaten here many times and had them cater multiple parties and they always bring their A game. Everyone I have ever dealt with here, including the owner and manager, have been really cool and super friendly and helpful. I have tried almost everything, but I think my favorites are the brisket and the peach cobbler.

My boyfriend and I were really craving BBQ so we tried this place out and our sandwiches were delicious! My only complaint would be our sides, the fried okra, fries, and mac n cheese, didnt have a whole lot of seasoning.
Poorest customer service I’ve ever experienced. I placed an order by phone and was told my order would be ready in about 10 minutes. I arrived for curbside pickup 15 minutes later. I was greeted by 2 individuals and young females with short blonde hair and a young male kinda heavy set. I was asked my name and my order for a chopped beef baker was confirmed. I handed my card to pay and was told my order would be right out. A gentleman pulled up next to me while I was paying and once the 2 individuals left from my vehicle they went to the other one to confirm his order. While speaking with him another car pulled up beside him and they greeted that customer before returning inside. As I’m waiting the young heavyset male came back outside to ask me my name again as to confirm who I was and my order once more. Still waiting I watched him go back inside return to the third car that pulled up and deliver their order to them. During this time another car pulled up on the other side of me and was greeted. The older gentleman that first pulled up next to me is also watching as orders are being delivered and appears to be frustrated because he too had been waiting. Finally, the manager (Francisco) comes out carrying a bag to the older gentleman’s car and I watch him return inside. I seen the blonde hair girl come outside to greet another car and I flag her down to ask where my meal was. By this time I have waited 10+ minutes for a meal (only a baked potato) that I was originally told would only take 10 minutes. She informs me that they are behind and I asked her when my food would come out and she responded soon and that she was going back inside to check. She never returned and the younger heavyset male came outside to bring something missing from the order of the 2nd car that had pulled up after me. At this time I requested for a refund on my order. He went back inside and grabbed the manager who came back outside to ask me my name again and then asked how I paid for my order. I replied, “by card” and he took my card and walked inside. I waited another 5 minutes then watched him hand my card off to someone else to bring it outside to me. All this time I’ve waited still no food. I asked the guy who brought my card back out to me when I could expect my refund in which he said he was unsure and had to go back inside to ask. He and the manager then returned back outside to go deliver a meal to another car and then came to address me letting me know it would be a couple of days. No specific amount of days not even business days just a couple of days because that is what he is told to say by the owner. This was the most unpleasant experience I’ve ever had and sadly I’ll have to find another BBQ place to eat and I will no longer be using them when I order lunches for my job during our meetings. I’ve never experienced such poor customer service in my life. Sadly the manager acted as if my situation was very minor. Maybe it was bc of the amount I was spending for my single plate this evening but that doesn’t account for the amount I spend for my employees during our luncheons and because of his attitude they lost all my business.
The nastiest barbecue ever. Ordered off of Uber eats in a hurry. Mac and cheese tasted awful and the brisket was dry. They sure know how to mess up someone’s day😢😢
I gave them 3 star because the guy who brought out my food was nice. The last time I ordered from them, I wasnt pleased with the food, but I gave them another try. Again wasnt please! There was no taste to the beef at all, I couldnt taste any Hickory!! Didnt even taste like smoked bbq!!
If you want to enjoy great bbq food with your family or by your self and with the friendliest staff ever this is the place to go. I give this place 10 stars if I could just because of the cleanest and respectfully staff

Old Hickory Inn catered my wedding and I could not be happier with the service that they provided.Francisco, the catering manger, was there from the very beginning, from the tasting of the food, to the serving, to the clean up. Lets start with the tasting, my wife and I showed up at the restaurant a little after lunchtime, we had an idea of what we might want on our menu but were not quite sure and that is were Franciscos impeccable customer service came into play he suggested that we try the items on the menu that we thought we would like and told us that if we would like to try anything else he would bring it to our the table. The food was great! My wife thought that everything was really good but asked if they would make some of our selections with a little less seasoning for the reception and they told us that they would make any adjustments that we would like. When it came to the big day, everything ran so smooth and the food was the best that I have ever had at a reception. All my guests could not stop talking about the food and as a matter of fact the DJ told me I DJ a lot of events, wedding receptions, and quinceaneras and those were the best ribs that I have ever had at any of these events. My personal favorite was the brisket but I do have to agree that the ribs were great. Anyway I could write a 10,000 word review just on Francisco but to sum things up he is a true professional in every meaning of the word.Last but not least I would like to give a very big thank you to another team member at Old Hickory Inn, Tammy. Tammy was also a big part of making my wedding reception amazing. She was always so prompt, helpful, and kind with her responses to my many questions about the details of the reception. She really made my wife and I feel special and we could not have asked for better service.A note to anyone looking for top notch catering, give these guys your business and you will not be disappointed.
Excellent bar-b-que. I have been visiting for 20+ years. They have the best baked potatoes anywhere. This last visit I ordered a salad with ham. It was very good. Their rice pudding hits the mark also. The food is consistently good and that is because the staff are excellent at what they do. Good job Ted, Francisco and all!!!
Again I am baffled by the high rating. This place is definitely on the low end for brisket in Houston. It was tender (enough), but hardly any flavor and kinda dry. When a restaurant like this does not do justice to barbeque, then at least it can be salvaged by a great-tasting sauce. Not this place. Id guess they used Campbells tomato soup as their base. Ug! Cross this place off your list.
The food is just delicious. It always taste the same. That is what I like. When you order something it always has the same delicious taste that keeps you coming back.
I walked in to order and 3 workers were on their phones. As soon as the ticket printed they put phones away and went straight to the line the fix the order. I asked if it was normal to not wash hands and the man stated he didnt touch my food. This is after I watched him cut the brisket and placed it on the plate with his ungloved hand. Terrible, because the food looked good. This is how consumers get sick, not to mention spread viruses.

Good little spot. Large portions of meat for the price. Usually prefer pulled pork sandwiches but their sliced pork was excellent. Skinny hand it fries are good if you like em a little greasy. Friendly service and very clean.
BBQ is not bad but it will give you indigestion and that liquid smoke roll deep in your belly. First time experience eating there and I had the brisket sandwich with betty much over buttered mixed veggies. I wouldn’t go back even though a lot if the other good liked pretty good.
Barely adequate! If youre looking for TRUE, tasty Texas Barbecue... this isnt it. Too bland and run-of-the-mill for me and my friends. The place is clean and pleasant but Ill look elsewhere next time.
I have been visiting Red Oak Grill for several years and I found it to be very good. I enjoy Mediterranean food and I enjoy the American favorites they also have on the menu. The food portions are very generous and everything is cooked to order. My favorite burger on the menu is a lamb burger. If you enjoy lamb this may be a good treat for you.
Old Hickory Inn barbecue is probably one of the best kept secrets in Missouri City. The food selection is absolutely awesome the prices are very reasonable and the food is just good. Weve eaten here many times before and Ive always enjoyed the consistency of what we ordered every time. The setting if you dine in is cozy. The staff is very friendly very helpful and we will continue eating here as long as they stay open.
Just picked up an order I placed on line for 2 lbs.sliced brisket. A pound of sliced brisket was on top of order. Underneath was about a fourth pound of fatty brisket that wasnt consumable mixed with good brisket. Very disappointed. Ive been a very loyal customer & this was disappointing.
I will admit I am biased on this review because I go to meetings here for the American Legion. That aside, I can honestly say I really enjoy this restaurant.The food is always fresh and well flavored, with generous portions.The prices are the same as all of the other local BBQ places, so comparitively its not expensive. I like that they also serve genuine tasting Gyros, in case Im not in the mood for BBQ.Theres lots of seating and space inside, plus a meeting room. Theres also a few tables outside, but it can be loud out there with the traffic down FM1092.Its clean (the building is old, so its not SPOTLESS with brand new paint, but its definitely not dirty, like another reviewer thought).The staff is friendly and hard working, and most importantly this restaurant gives back to its community through sponsoring local teams and allowing our Veterans a free meeting room once a month. So I love this restaurant.
This is one of the local dives and has been on our weekly dinner schedule since we moved to Missouri City about 11 years ago. The food is good the portions are large and the staff is always friendly.If you love brisket (which I do) Its hard to think of a place that has better hickory smoked brisket in the area. Its very underrated and I order it everytime.Their Chopped beef baked potato is ridiculously large... enough for two?
Its my favorite bbq place ive been coming here for over the last ...well lets say since I was in my late teens over 20 years. The best!! I always recommend it when someone asks for a Good BBQ place. They have the biggest names potatoes I have ever seen. Everyone is also so nice and friendly. Its always clean, theres plenty of seating. They also have tables outside. Theres plenty of parking. They have an area you can reserve for events and they do catering. They have tvs for when those good games are on too. ❤
Looking at all the good reviews made me want to try this place out. Big mistake. The food didnt live up to the reviews at all which makes me think what restaurant did they go too? The food was incredibly bland, I can tell its cheap meat for such a high price. I wish I could get the horrible taste out of my mouth and I couldnt even finish the food and just threw it in the trash. Horrible and sorry excuse for BBQ.
First time trying there BBQ, it was really good. Theres not a drive thru but service was fast and friendly.
Ive lived in this area for quite sometime and never tried this place out. Decided to give them a try. I ordered 1lb of outside loose cut brisket with the bark (fatty end). A lot of places I been to would either give me the wrong order because they had no clue what that term meant or refuse to serve that piece. I was surprised that they did. I got three sides, Mac and cheese, potato salad and bbq beans. The beans and potato salad was pretty good, the Mac and cheese was pretty bland. Now onto the brisket, for having the cut and being VERY tender 👍🏿. The only thing is that its missing flavor, didnt taste a pinch of salt or pepper. Or if it had any wasnt much at all. Try some rub and then Ill make another visit.
In my opinion they have the best baked potatoe in town! Also I have ordered brisket to be made here for the past 6 years, for my daughters birthday parties. Everyone always compliments on the brisket! Great service!
Excellent Brisket! Potato Salad is delicious. Cole slaw is very good. And they have good sweet tea! Will definitely be going back for other selections. As good as The Swinging Door, but lots closer.
Memorial day my family was disappointed. Briskit was dry, chopped bakers were huge and full of cheese but very little meat, food is not seasoned well... not worth 100.00 bucks I spent.

I looove this place. Their chopbaker (the fully loaded baked potato) is delicious, Im pretty sure I would eat it everyday if I could. The Jalapeño sausage is great and so is their chicken. My husband loves their potatoe salad and The brisket is never dry. The price is also great. F U who ever gave this place a one star.
If we are too busy for my husband to smoke the brisket, this is the only other place I want my brisket to come from! The smoke ring is deep and penetrating on the turkey just as it is on the brisket.We used to frequent one of the Papas BBQ locations, not anymore!
Love coming here for lunch! I get the chop baker potato and its enough to feed 2 people. Employees are friendly and the restaurant is clean and inviting. Always a great place for good bbq and southern cooked meals!!!
I guess today was a rough day the food is usually great, they were very busy. I guess thats why our ribs and links were tough and luke warm. The baked potatoes were great

I got the riblets and green beans. The riblets were nice and smokey and the green beans were perfectly seasoned. I took off one star because I didnt care for the barbecue sauce. The riblets were delicious without sauce. Ill definitely be back.
Place is the bomb diggity! Always get the chop baker and adding pickles is a must! And to end my three course meal I get peach cobbler and ice cream. The sweet tea is always empty so you have to ask for more because it’s so delicious!

First and last visit for me. Total disappointment. Ordered a rib/chicken combo and got 4 baby ribs that totaled about 2 oz of meat altogether with a leg+thigh that looked like they came from a quail or cornish hen. The meat tasted like it was baked and then scorched on a grill to give it a fake bbq look. Sauce was runny and tasted like spaghetti sauce.This is NOT real barbeque.
Ate here based on the rave reviews and was sorely disappointed! Brisket was flavorless and terribly dry, cucumber salad was more oil than vinegar and the restaurant needs a serious deep clean.
They have one of the best chopped beef baked potato I have ever had, and more importantly you cant beat the prices! A loyal customer for 15+ years and plan to be for the next 15+ as well.

Ive tried the double meat Baker with chopped beef and Turkey spicy jalapeno sauce....i swear i could hear angels signing as i took every bite..... the next trip i got plain chop beef ( no sauce), and Turkey on a salad with a side of jalapeno sauce ..... absolutely delicious.... the owner came out and personally thanked us for coming to try out the restuarant... she was extremely nice ... Id recommend this spot to anyone.......

Went to a Christmas party here last night. Great food. Pleased with everything except the pork ribettes, which were too much bone for my liking. Ill get the brisket next time.

Barbecue at the place is great and I like the fact that theyll smoke a whole brisket for you if youre having an event. The result is a perfectly cooked brisket and the hardest part of hosting a party (cooking) done.
They have arguably the best chopped beef sandwich in the area! This is a very nice medium sized restaurant with friendly staff. They have a banquet room or multi use room for your needs.

Amazing staff and the place is run very well, but their brisket sandwich is really bland, their bbq sauce is pretty much just plain tomato soup, and the mac and cheese tastes like its from cicis.
Old Hickory catered a charity event for us and everyone was extremely impressed! The food was delicious and the service was even better. I highly recommend for your next catered party!
Used to love this place, went in to get a sandwich and Cole slaw. Was treated like I should be waiting on them worst service Ive had and when I got my food it was covered in some oily substance and not prepared right. Was a real let down will Not Be Going Back! Dont waste your money.
Their food is decent, but the barbeque sauce is nasty. To me the bbq sauce is the most important part of a bbq place so I wont be going back.

BBQ sauce here is the way its supposed to be. Thick barbecue sauce was never meant to be used over brisket, just chicken nuggets.

2022-02-01I only ever get my baked potatoes from Papas for a hefty $15 but I got mine here for the first time being the same size, loaded chopped beef and I can truly say this was an amazing and tasty baked potato. I love how they put the cheese under the chopped beef, melting the cheese. It’s the little things that count. The potato was a great golden brown with no burnt sides. GREAT. This amazing potato and a soda for 12.99? LOVE IT HERE.

2021-10-14My wife got the sliced Smoked Turkey plate, and I got the Chopped Brisket Baked Potato. Everything we have ever eaten here has tasted great, and they serve nice-sized portions for the money, especially compared to a couple of the other BBQ restaurants in the area.Old Hickory Inn is my go-to place in the area for great BBQ.

2022-02-26Food? Excellent! My only complaint was waiting 37minutes for my takeout order of one chopped beef sandwich with fries and one chopped beef dinner plate with mashed potatoes and fries.Now, I have to say the food was so effing good my wife who was super hangry wants to go again anyway.So, minus one star for waiting so long for such a small order. The flavor of the sauce they use is still lingering in my mouth… I actually think we will go back tomorrow. So I give five stars!

2021-07-15This is the best barbecue on the side of heaven. We are suffering from rebuilding our house from the snow storm that hit in February. So we’ve been having to eat out a lot because of not having a kitchen. And his food reminds me every day of home cooked, put your foot in it, love and food. I’m so blessed to have found it I’m so glad that they do door Dash

2022-05-20I went to this business 3 days ago. The BBQ was cold, when my friend complain and want them to give her one hot rib the mabafe say it was hot. The cook said it was hot. He refuse to give her one hot rib. This guy was arguing with her. I thought the customer was always right. Not at this spot. We will not be back and will not recommend any one to go there.

2021-03-14I read a review about the trays being ‘brought out’. How rare and how lucky!Visited this restaurant with my elderly dad who used a cane. Ordered 2 ‘two meats’ combo and they actually called and STOOD THERE for me to collect the trays! I mean, I still thought being observant and courteous was part of human decency.Brisket and riblets were lukewarm.Definitely not a business I would support.Not recommended and highly discouraged!

2021-11-12I was temporarily staying in town while and we happened to stumble on this place by accident. LET ME TELL YOU! I loved EVERYTHING about this place. FIRST- the restaurant was extremely clean. Second- the menu had a lot of options. Last- the food was DELICIOUS!EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING was perfect at my dinning experience. Which says a lot because I’m extremely picky about cleanliness and food.You definitely want to try this place out!
