This place is amazing to see in person! It’s the ruins of an old gas stationed turned moonshine bootleggers speakeasy back in the 20s during prohibition. Built and owned by Ed Young, it was constructed with bricks, petrified wood, fossils, stones and quartz. When prohibition ended, the station went legit to its intended purpose as a gas station and grocery store until the 60s. It’s is a sight to behold. I really want to return in winter when there is less foliage and less of a chance of running into snakes! I’d love to explore more around the sides and back of the structure. If your in the area I recommend stopping by and taking in the beauty and history of this abandoned structure.Fun facts: I knew of this amazing place before heading to Glen Rose for our small family dinosaur themed vacation thanks to the internet, but was pleasantly surprised seeing photos of it in the local museum and our B&B!

Interesting place. I wish someone took care of it with a better place to park and make it a photo stop.
