If you are like me, you care more about your pet than is deemed healthy. Therefore they need that best vet possible. Look no further than Paz! You walk in and the vibe doesnt scream scary vet; there are couches, dog toys and even cold brew on tap complimentary for you! You are greeted kindly and your pet with all the love. The quality of care is visible in their glass doors (see what I did there). The clinic room has clear glass doors to the back (the front is a normal door for privacy) where they do anything with your pet (take samples, tests, etc) so you can watch how your pet is treated. I think that says a lot about the quality of service. On top of that they are very reasonably priced! Cant think of anything negative to say about my experience! They even gave great advice on dog parks to swim!!
The compassion shown by Dr Nicholas Kiefer, Dr Jamie Senthiraja the GM Troy Buckland, the nurses and front desk staff at Paz Veterinary East for my six-teen years old shell shocked rescue Cairn Terrier Monkey Swofford April 2019 and me was beyond description.Paz Veterinary helped me and my precious girl through the worst day of my life with grace, acceptance and stern resolve to do the right thing. I’ll forever be grateful and will return with my boy Toby Swofford as he rounds six-teen years as a West Highland White Terrier male with the attendant issues of old age and his inevitable passing away.RobEast Austin, TX
I am so grateful to have found this clinic when we moved to the Austin area last year. I am especially thankful for their TCM (Chinese Medicine) vet, Dr. Laurie Johnson who has worked wonders with my two Senior girls, who each have various things going on. The acupuncture and herbal therapies are a great compliment to the western medicine. This is truly how healthcare should be for all of us - the best of both worlds. Also, we love the great staff. :)
The only reason I’m giving two stars is for their incredulously expensive services. On our second visit, today, I got quoted $757 for my 2 dogs’ annual vaccines, heart worm tests and 3 mo. of preventive meds. And that wasn’t including the $145 in meds they wanted to tack on for one of my dog’s seasonal allergies. I declined their services (and still had to pay $64 for the “consultation”), went straight to Emancipet and paid $228 for the exact same services and was in and out quicker (I will admit I got extremely lucky and went on a super slow evening).
Super disorganized and the customer service here is so whack.I think yall need to cut back on the cold brew because some of the receptionists were on-edge from the very start. Apparently you are not allowed to simple questions if something wasnt explained to you thoroughly. Unnecessarily combative.Dr. Wilson was disorganized and went back and forth on several things. Halfway through, it seemed like she was treating a new patient as she forgot information from the initial appointment. After I e-mailed to cancel and explained why, I thought I was done with this place. Then, Dr. Wilson decided to call me and upset me further. Very strange customer service practices.
Corner vet has saved my life and my dogs so many times I cant give them enough stars. A couple weeks ago I reached my patience limit with dog and called them asking for puppy Prozac. I have a high energy rescue mixed with anxiety and aggression and she decided to eat my couch. The receptionist took the time to educate me about CBD Oil and I swear my dog is a new woman. Shes happier, calmer, NOT lethargic, and not getting into (as much) trouble. It also helped with her finicky appetite.Aside from the CBD Oil day and many other positive experiences (like seeing us on thanksgiving day when Bessie decided to have 3 accidents and I was convinced she had a UTI), this Sunday my dog got attacked and I called them before even calling my mom. I could barely even talk on the phone without bursting into tears. They got Bessie in right away and immediately made me feel so much better. At one point I think I was crying so hard trying to tell the story that the vet tech stopped taking notes and just hugged me. This place feels like family and I wouldnt trust anyone else with my doggie. It is not cheap but well worth it. I like every single employee Ive ever met there and the decor makes it feel like my own living room.
Hands down the best and most attentive vet ever. Not only is the clinic as cute as can be, but the staff is amazing. Dr. Jamie is professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about all of his fur patients. We take both our cat and pupper here and couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you for always accommodating us and taking such good care of our furbabies, Dr. Jamie and PAZ!
The staff and everyone there is great but my review is a one star because of the surgery that was done on my dog was not up to par. Took my dog bella to get surgery on her cherry eye and still looks the same I feel that dr.kruped didnt do a good job. I was told and fully understood that it can come back but the surgey that was done no difference what so ever. At first during the healing process ofcourse it was gonna be swollen but a month after still nothing has changed. Im very disappointed and will not return because no one there has done anything to help me solve this. Now, Im told I have to spend another 900 which is just ridiculous when it should have been corrected the first time. If I could I would give this no stars but I cant. Friends of mine have gotten their dogs the surgery and with in the same day of surgery once they gone home their is nothing their but my poor bella still has her cherry eye. Here are pictures before and after. Dont recommend this vet for surgerys on cherry eyes.
I started going to Paz East during 2020, they had an organized & safe approach to taking care of my pets while also being conscious of COVID. All the vet techs have been so nice & knowledgable, while I haven’t met any of the vets in person, speaking to them over the phone they have taken as much time as I’ve needed to get my questions answered. Usually thats not a big deal but one of my dogs needed surgery and they made sure I was schooled up before scheduling the surgery. Compassionate + well run facility. Cost of services isn’t “cheap” but certainly lower than my previous vet, North Austin Hospital, where I feel like I nearly drained my bank account each visit. Recommend & crazy convenient for Austin East siders like myself.
We could not have had a better experience at PAZ over the last several months with our 9 month golden retriever, Baits! Baits LOVES everyone and excitedly sprints in. The team always takes the time to answer my many questions and follows up the day after the appointment to see how Baits is doing. We could not be more thankful for the care and thoughtfulness of this team! They treat Baits like their own.
Dr. Wilson is one person who has blown me away by going above and beyond in recent memory. With so many COVID distractions and adjustments, quality of care and customer service are often things that falls to the wayside. I was hesitant to join PAZ because I clocked them as expensive and bougie. However, I have been blown away at every opportunity. The front desk staff remembers me even though we’ve never met. The vet techs genuinely care about my dog. And the prices are totally comparable, if not cheaper than other vets in town. Most importantly, Dr. Wilson caught a tumor that TWO other vets didn’t see as a concern. My dog has cancer and I hate thinking that if I would have found PAZ sooner, she could be healthy and better by now. Dr. Wilson called me on her personal phone after a day of back to back appointments to answer my questions. She’s sent me after hours emails as well. AND she knows the pricing of her industry partners. One of the biggest stressors of medical care is not just the health concerns, but the costs to remedy them. Dr. Wilson is keenly aware of the costs of everything, including the referrals she makes for surgeries and exams that are needed out of office. I can’t over emphasize enough what a blessing Dr. Wilson and her team have been to me and my baby. You have a patient for life. And hopefully a longer one because of you. ❤️
Fantastic veterinary clinic in Austin. Staff are really friendly and very responsive. My dog actually loved going there! And when I had to relocate to Singapore earlier this year, and my dog was stranded in Austin waiting to be transported to me, Paz were super helpful. They helped the dog minder with all the special paperwork needed before the flight - and without me needing to ask, they made sure they emailed everything to me as well as the transport company. They confirmed appointments with the minder and the transport company, and when someone noticed that something wasnt what they were expecting, they proactively double-checked to make sure they were sending the right documents. And they were doing all this while dealing with their own covid-related restrictions! (My dog is now safely here in Singapore with me). I wouldnt go anywhere else - except maybe one of their other branches in Austin!
Dr. Raegan Wilson is the best doctor I’ve seen in the almost 13 years I’ve been with my pup — and we’ve seen a lot! She is extremely thorough, knowledgeable (has a lot of ER experience), caring, and invested in her patients. She caught something so incredibly rare (liver abscess) and while I was in a bit of denial of this and declined further testing to get to a confirmed diagnosis, she stayed in touch with me a few hours after our visit and helped me understand that I needed to go to the ER when things weren’t getting better and her temp was rising (side note - I never knew how important and telling it could be to take my pups temp and this helped solidify that I needed to go - first vet to educate me on this!). She made it easy for me to get my pup seen by the ER ASAP by sending records over and calling them, and after an emergency life saving surgery to remove the abscess (by the amazing surgeon Dr. Pugliese at CTVSEH), she stayed in touch with the doctors at the hospital and supported me with her second set of eyes on everything throughout the way. We saw her a few times before this emergency for regular visits and I had a LOT of questions that she took the time to answer and has been extremely patient with me throughout it all! I am so incredibly grateful! The office and support staff have also been great responding to my messages in a very timely manner and are always really positive and pleasant when I call or do curbside drop off for visits — good energy all around.Thank you Paz East and Dr. Wilson!!
I’ve been with PAZ for many years. It’s a little pricy compared to others, and I even left them for a small time because of it. I came back because their level of service, knowledge and friendly staff are unmatched.-My dog is leash aggressive so visits to the vet can be stressful. They were so understanding and helped mitigate any issues, it put both of us at ease.-One of my appointments was taking longer than expected because of an emergency and they checked in with me repeatedly to provide updates, you’d think this is a common practice everywhere but its very rare. They offered me beer and coffee while I waited and other options to compensate my time.-I had to put my dog down last year and I really appreciated the experience they created for us. They gave me a buzzer and put us in a candlelit room with pillows and blankets so we could lay down comfortably and spend some time alone together before going through with it. They even had cans of cheese wiz and peanut butter for my furbaby. When I was ready I buzzed them to come in. About a week after they gave me an engraved box with her ashes.
Horrible horrible horrible. I cannot express what a poor experience I’ve had here on multiple occasions. We’ve had 3 different vets tell us multiple different things in terms of our puppies health which is uneasy for new puppy owners. They’ve miscommunicated and misscheduled us multiple times. The vet tech who came out to get my puppy was passive aggressive and rude. When I voiced my concern to the vet about our poor experience and that we may be going somewhere else he said “ok cool gotcha” ... not a sorry, not a what can I do to fix it. This business is so poorly run, no one is on the same page and they clearly don’t even care that their clients are unhappy. I could not be more disappointed.
I’ve only been here twice, but each visit has been a great experience! The front desk staff is always friendly and full of positive energy. Today I was lucky enough to have Dale helping me get checked in and out. He was so helpful along with the rest of the staff that helped me out today. The vet really cares and you can tell they want what’s best for your pets. Fun, cool, and attentive environment for you and your furry family members.
After getting my puppy right before covid and taking her to PAZ East, I realized it wouldnt be a normal vet visit due to dropoff protocal but I was totally fine with this as I had been recommended to this location from a few friends and colleagues. We had a great experience at the very beginning until my pup got sick and was going more regularly for treatment. You could tell the staff was overwhelmed due to lack of answering the phone and follow-ups. Its also frustrating that they dont schedule a follow-up appointment after your visit so you have to call to check on that date and schedule separately. Dr. Keifer had been great but left to go out of town during COVID in the middle of her treatment and didnt follow up on my pups condition or ask another Doctor to do so. Thankfully I was able to get Dr. Johnson to assist and she admitted she fell through the cracks and apologized so I was willing to forgive it. A few weeks later, a staff member, Debbie, was so very rude to me and refused to bring my puppy over to my car so I could put her in. While I understand the COVID protocols were changed again, she wasnt abiding by them or simply providing a standard of customer service that shouldve been given. The manager witnessed the interaction and apologized for her behavior but that was just the final straw for me to be done with this place and move on. EDIT: I found out this employee has been fired from the company.Since then, I decided to take her to my vet friend who recently started at PAZ North and have had a great experience overall because she truly cares and it definitely shows through her treatment plan and follow ups. The staff is very friendly and responsive! Unfortunately, the East location just seems too busy and understaffed to be able to fully provide the care and support they should for a facility that you already pay a premium to visit.
Curbside service during covid-19. Just bring your furry friend, & call the number posted right in front of your parking space period tell them what parking space number you are in, and they will come get your furry friend for a checkup/ vet visit. No need to go inside. I took my dog to them for the first time, they took her inside gave her a nail trim and a routine checkup. They were very polite and very professional. Three locations to choose from, this just happened to be the one closest to my home.
Cant recommend this vet office more. They are all true animal lovers. My cat is actually happy to go to the vet, they treat her so well. So nice to see vets that care so much for the pets as if they were their own. The vet techs are also really really good at their job. Theyre very patient with your pet and you can tell they have true compassion for your animal. The vets were happy to explain all of my options to me multiple times when dealing with my very sick cat. (kidney disease)Other things:The hours are great. Its a beautiful space. Theres parking and free cold brew. Cant get better than this.
The attentive care, expertise and genuine compassion at Austin Corner Vet is like nothing we have ever experienced. I recommend this vet all the time and will continue to do so. Dr. Vaughan and his team are an incredible group of people who love what they do and truly love the animals they care for. We moved here earlier this year with our 11 year old Boxer who unfortunately grew ill quickly. The Corner Vet team provided the best possible care for him, educating us on how we could keep him comfortable, providing at-home treatment options and a payment plan that really helped out through the treatment process until the end. I miss our pup every day but feel better knowing he was so well cared for. When we get a new dog, we will go nowhere else :).
Paz has never let me down with my senior chihuahua who has needed much care. Their holistic Dr. Johnson is wonderful and helped develop a second opinion from another vet who almost put my baby down. Its been a week later and my baby is doing great. I almost made the worst decision without them.
I definitely received a mediocre service for my dogs first visit and checkup. I was wondering if the reason is that my dog has been treated at Emancipet for heartworms.Wait was long and communication of drop off and pick up was not well-defined, vet was either busy or didnt feel like a detailed full check up like heart, and teeth.. It was basically an expressive way of getting preventives.I might still take my dog there because of convenience for basics but for something else I will definitely seek for more through opinions.
These folks take such good care of my pup and have phenomenal customer service. They make it so easy with automated medication reminders, email receipts, and phone call reminders for appointments. My puppy has been sick twice so far and theyve made sure he was taken care of ASAP -- and their staff is sweet and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
I decided to pick this vet because of all the positive reviews I saw. I was not disappointed! Even though I did not have an appointment and it was my first time in their system they looked for the closest appointment and got me in as quickly as possible, to my luck only 20 min. The front desk is very courteous and the waiting room is very comfortable and nicely decorated. You can tell everyone there is there for the love of animals. I have only been there once and for a minor problem (dog had a bacterial infection on his skin) but the vet and the techs were very reassuring and made sure I had all the information I needed and wanted. It is pricey but I come from out of the city so I am not sure what qualifies as pricey my total was around $200 with $50 of it being the consultation fee. I am for sure coming back! Thanks Dr. Carter and Suzanne for your patience and seeing us so quickly!
These guys really took good care of my kitty, she had some ear problems and they got her all fixed up and happy again. The staff is super nice, from the lady that picked kitty up, Dr Kiefer was great and did a good job explaining everything, to the the lady who took the payment. They will take good care of your furry friends 👍🏻
Youre paying for that free cold brew trust me. They offered 3 times to express my dogs glands I denied three times assuming it wasnt free. After they insisted I assumed it was free. Nope 30 dollars for a 30 second procedure. I could have taken her to a dog groomer and had her bathed and expressed for that price. Absolutely will never be back here. This place will nickel and dime you to death. Im glad my wife asked me to bring her dog here for her. Dont be fooled by the decor and free cold brew. Youre paying for all of it.
Several OK visits but you pay a premium for cold brew. We have a 4 yr old dog who often has ear infections. We have gotten a prescription through them due to them being our primary vet but are out of Austin due to Covid precautions at the moment. Our dogs ears are really bothering her so we called for a prescription and they told us no due to not having a visit. Its the same symptoms she always has and we are in a time when we are taking precautions for the safety of ourselves and others. Highly disappointed with this care after giving our money so many times to this business.
Absolutely love PAZ East!! I have 2 senior dogs and every staff member has been really good with them. Our first visit, the tech was sitting on the floor petting them and you could tell all of the employees truly love animals. They took their time with us and our pets. Every doctor we have worked with has been outstanding. My big dog gets anxiety at the Vet and they are so patient with him and caring. My most recent visit on 2/13 though sealed it for us, we will be patients for life! We woke up and our little dog had a bluish grey film on his right eye. I called PAZ right away and they got him in the same day. The tech and Dr Brunson were so helpful. The tech was holding and petting Arthur to make him comfortable while the Dr focused on diagnosing his issue, Dr Brunson did a great job at explaining the details in a way I could understand and she took her time with us. The next morning they called to check on our little Arthur and we were really worried as his condition seemed to be getting worse and he was very lethargic. They had me send pictures to them and called back saying they would move some things around to get us back in. When we went back in Dr Brunson was genuinely concerned for our little guy and she even went so far as to call a local ophthalmologist to see if they could see us. She was able to get us some meds and drops to keep Arthur comfortable until we can get in with the specialist. She was absolutely amazing from start to finish! She called again this morning on a Saturday to check on him. The care the team at PAZ has for their patients is truly one of a kind. ❤️
I thought I loved my old vet and stayed with them for over a year after moving to the east side, but I just switched to PAZ because they are so much closer and WOW I was blown away by this place! There was no wait to make the appointment, to check in, or in the room. Everyone was great and super sensitive and accommodating to the special needs of my scared pup. They took the time to go over everything in detail and talk about pricing and options, and they answered all of my questions. I never write reviews, but my experience here was so great that I had to share!
Im so happy I chose to go here! First off, the place is so adorable. Second, every one working from reception to techs to the vet was exceptionally nice, helpful, and extremely accommodating. I have a large bully breed dog and they handled him so well, and helped me keep him away from other dogs, because hes still working on making dog friends. They were so loving to Chance and very gentle with him. I loved it all!
We were visiting from out of town when our Frenchie Louie appeared to have an eye infection. Called and got an appointment that same day. They offered curbside service due to Covid, but I felt well informed of everything and felt comfortable with my dog being in their care. I work at a vets office back home and was super impressed with this place. Dr. Kiefer was great and so was the rest of the staff I dealt with. This will be Louie’s vet when we move there.
A continently located vet but overpriced. Spent over $300 for my 5 year old dogs annual exam. In addition, needed a booster 3 weeks later and was charged $60 including a $30 “tech appointment” charge which included less than 2 minutes of the techs time who didn’t take the time to properly weigh my dog and yanked her off clearly in a rush. Clearly not an “appointment.”-Update-Management at PAZ reached out to me to resolve this situation. I still wouldn’t choose to bring my pets back here due to price and the care received but I appreciated managements helpfulness and promptness.
PAZ Veterinary provides outstanding care for our 2 French bulldogs!! Recently we have had stomach issues with one of them. Even on the busiest of days the staff is extremely caring and accommodating. The veterinarians are very knowledgeable and do not rush through the office visit. We could not be more pleased and highly recommend PAZ Veterinary!!
I was very happy with everything at Austin Corner Vet. They were able to see us as new patients the same day we called. The technician and vet were both great with my dog and explained everything well. They did not seem to be interested in over-treating or over-prescribing, and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely be back (not, I hope, for more treatment of Zephyrs injury, but for regular check-ups). Thanks Austin Corner Vet!!!
The staff at Paz is always so friendly and welcoming, and they fawn over my pup! The vets are flexible and really make sure that you get on the right treatment plans for your dog or cat. They never seem rushed or annoyed, and get right down on the floor with the dogs. Love it there, and so does my Ruby (mostly because she gets all the treats tho).
We are new to Austin and had an INCREDIBLE vet in Chicago and didnt think we would find another like them. PAZ has an incredible level of service and as questions have come up after my dogs appointment I have been able to email back and forth with Dr. Carter. This level of service and compassion not just for the dogs but for the worried pet parent goes beyond 5 stars in my book. Thank you PAZ vet family!
As a first time puppy mom, I was not sure what to look for in a Vet however I am so happy I found PAZ! My puppy and I have loved our experience so far at PAZ, and have had an amazing experience with Dr. Kiefer and our amazing technicians. The staff at PAZ has continually gone out of their way to answer my questions not only regarding my puppys health but also regarding recommendations for puppy training and daycare. I look forward to every visit at PAZ because the office is clean, appointments start on time, records are sent electronically, and there is free cold brew. Thanks so much!
They are always quick to respond and get you in very fast for appointments. It is expensive and they do push you for lots of follow ups. They tend to question my decision as a long time dog owner and make me feel like I am abusing my pet, even though she is a perfectly healthy arthritic 14 year old. They don’t work well with online pet pharmacies so you have to go in monthly for your prescriptions, that really sucks and is inconvenient.
After years at a big chain vet, we decided to try PAZ. What an incredible difference, not only in care, but in the overall vet experience! PAZ is unique, it’s like visiting a friend down the street, who also happens to be a vet. The staff is kind, caring and knowledgeable, the clinic is comfortable, relaxing and homey - and it’s right in our neighborhood, not inside a giant pet store. We now take both our dogs exclusively to PAZ, and are so thankful for the care they receive. Thank you PAZ!
I love bringing my pet to Paz. The staff is always communicative, helpful, and kind. The office is clean and welcoming. Whether there for a routine check up or for a small emergency, it’s easy to relax and trust the doctors and techs; they’re all professional and clearly love animals. I moved to the area 3 years ago and have yet to have something negative to say. Paz is the quality veterinary care I want for my padfooted family members.
We cannot recommend Paz Veterinary enough! Weve had a few different concerns come up since we adopted our Great Dane and have always felt like we were in the best care here. The staff is always very friendly and caring. One time they even ran outside to carry our 125 lb. dog inside when he passed out on the sidewalk.Dr. Senthirajah and Dr. Kiefer are wonderful and have really treated our dog and us well! Finally, the offices (weve also visited the S. 1st location) are modern and a space you actually want to be in.
We LOVE PAZ! Always welcoming as a dog owner, always welcoming and comforting to our doggie Bailey. Fair and reasonable pricing and excellent care. Alternatives always introduced and discussed. Its such a relief to have such wonderful care and its so close to home on the East Side of Austin! Thank you PAZ!
STAY AWAY from this place. They fully took advantage of the covid precautions and me not standing in the room to make sure my pup was taken care of and DIDN’T take care of him. I had to call multiple times for updates despite it getting so late they were about to close. TWO separate people said they didn’t have time to examine him and couldn’t even correctly identify the reason he was brought in (despite having required a written form) because “we have other sick dogs here too”. Having other sick dogs is not a reason to neglect mine. Then they had the audacity to charge me for an exam they admitted they did not perform. I had to threaten to call the cops in order to get my boy back. Then the vet who was previously so busy came out to try to tell me “honey you’re fired and you can’t come back” - as if I ever would. She also threatened to “put me in collections” but forgets it’s illegal to charge for services you did not render. Negligent care. Non-communicative. Incredibly rude. Austin has an abundance of vets- go anywhere else.
We’ve been going to Paz for 2-3 years now. Everyone is always so friendly and truly cares about our pets. We’ve seen multiple doctors here and they are all good with cats. After trying probably a dozen vets over the past 10 years, we are never going anywhere else. The place itself is very clean as well.
PAZ VET was the first visit for Gizmo and he felt so at ease with both the Tech and the Vet. He is such a mush when it comes to getting attention and making him feel special. But it was their expertise that got me sold. Coming to Austinthis PAZ VET place was exactly like it was described in the previous customer reviews posted. Friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. This is exactly what Gizmo needs and we have both found a wonderful place for both of us.Thank you Paz Vet!
Awesome doctors, staff, and experience. By far the best place to take your pet in Austin. These folks arent just looking to sell you unnecessary or excessive steps, nor do they rush you out the door with cheap service so they can jump to the next client. Instead, from the receptionist up front, to the techs, to the doctors themselves, the Corner Vet people are legitimately committed to taking care of your pet and making sure you fully understand whats going on the entire time. If you consider your pet to be a family member and not just an animal, and expect your vet to do the same, this is the place to go.
Knowledgable but did not provide me a great service. I went through their whole process but didnt realize they hadnt completed one of the tests they promised me until after I requested records from them. Apparently I didnt turn in her fecal sample even though I did so within a couple days. They are also extremely expensive for the value I received. $600+ to spay my 83 lb Akita.
This place has been amazing. I went in with my cat when he had a UTI and they gave me free beer which was great because my nerves were sky rocketing in hopes my kitty was okay and also hoping I wasn’t going to have to pay an arm and a leg to get him help. The procedure all in all wasn’t that expensive, totally doable and there’s also a loan program that lets you do monthly payments and is easy to apply for. Also found out my kitty has problems with his kidneys which is something I didn’t anticipate and I’m extra happy I could bring him in here and that they have lots of availability and don’t make you wait a week to be seen. Also the waiting room is so beautiful and wonderfully put together. Definitely love everything about this place and happy I came in.
I have a Maine Coon and a puppy and Paz has been wonderful. I had some issues with my cats previous veterinary that forced me to look for a replacement. After some internet searching I decided to give Paz (previously Corner Vet) a try. Boy did I hit the jackpot. Everyone there is extremely nice, and basically the entire staff comes in to see my cat and dog when I visit, bringing treats and smiles. Cant recommend enough!
I left a highly regarded veterinarian when relocating to downtown Austin. On our first visit, everyone at PAZ did an outstanding job at making us feel welcome and that my boy Shelby would be well taken care of. Dr. Kiefer and staff were happy to provide their suggested treatments but also let me decided on the best route. I couldnt recommend anyone to take care of you special pal more than PAZ.
It was a great expierence taking our 6 month teacup Pomeranian puppy here. I feel so helped and secure having our Pom here in their care. They are knowledgeable in taking care of shots and wellness check. We will have her spayed with them and continue going. My fiancé loved their cold brew in the waiting room also. Thanks for being understanding for our earlier arrival of appointment.
Dr Vaughan is an excellent veterinarian. He provides a unique perspective on pet care, that focuses on long term happiness of you and your furry friends. He understands the dynamics of pet/owner relationships, and can teach owners how to make their pets feel like part of the family. He went beyond the basic pet care and found the right food and exercise routine to make my dog healthy. He taught me some simple training tricks for my mastiff Rocky, which resulted in us becoming much closer and happier than we ever were before. I would recommend him to anyone looking for the best doc for their pet.
Will be reporting to the veterinary board. They allow their front office technicians to make diagnosis and recommendations on treatments which is unacceptable. I find that the treatment of animals is below the standard of care at this clinic, and they are only here to generate a revenue. If you are reading this and also had an experience that was below the standard of care, I encourage you to look up the Texas state board of veterinary care and do your due diligence to the public.
This place is great!!I had a emergency with my puppy and was looking for someone to see and treat him on a Saturday... Now most places close at noon put PAZ closes at 2pm and I was able to bring my puppy Captain in to be seen. Where he was treated and seen and taken care of. I will definitely be making PAZ Vet Clinic his forever Clinic.Thank you Cloey, Paige and Dr. Kiefer for seeing us!!!You guys are the best !
This is by far one of the most professional and friendly vet offices Ive been to. All the vet techs are just so patient in walking through all the details and the same can be said for the vets. Weve seen Dr. Riddick and Webb. Im constantly pleased with the service and knowledge of the staff. My only piece of feedback is on pricing - its certainly not the most affordable care in town. But well worth the expense for what you get. I even took out pet insurance to make it more accessible for me.
Tried to get a pet medication filled and they kept dropping the ball. I really like their staff (super nice people) but its really frustrating when you keep calling to see if they have approved it and they keep telling you Oh your doctor will be in tomorrow! but for the third time, weeks later.
I took my Sheltie Cole to the Corner Vet yesterday because his hip was sore from an injury he sustained as a puppy. I am so glad I did. Dr. Nick and his staff were wonderful, the office is very clean, upbeat, happy, and inviting. Everyone was smiling and I could tell they were happy to be there and truly enjoyed helping animals and their owners.I was also really impressed with their care plan for Cole. Other vets told me that steroid shots were the next step in treating his soreness. These shots come with some tough, long-term side effects that I am not ready to accept. Dr. Nick and his staff introduced my to SIX (!) other therapies that we can follow long term that will greatly improve his life without resorting to steroids. I am ecstatic to say the least. After spending quite a bit of time examining Cole, discussing his home environment and lifestyle, and walk through the different care options and costs, I was expecting a sizable bill. It was half of what I am used to paying at my previous vet. I will be bringing all of my animals to Corner Vet from now on.
Of course I’m not the first person to call a vet in tears and when I did today Dale at Paz was super kind. I didn’t expect to get in since it was already late in the day but they fit us in and stayed an hour late to help us out. Everyone was nice and genuine, no one was in scrubs... just real, good people. We have a new puppy who came along and they were super welcoming of our stow away. There was no pressure or judgement, I felt like I was at my friends house that happened to also be a vet. Our eldest who is ill’s name is Billie Jean and they even played MJ as we headed out the door. I dislike vet offices more than the dentist but not anymore. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Dr. Carter and the Paz staff have been really good to me and my three dogs. Some of my dogs have behavioral issues and Im always a high strung/nervous nellie when I bring them in. Everyone is kind and accommodating. Dr. Carter has gone above and beyond to be responsive and accessible . One of my dogs recently got pretty sick -- she kindly handled all of my questions and made sure we got in to get the appropriate tests run. The staff makes invoicing, appts, refills, etc easy to manage.
Raspberry has been a patient at Paz East for years and we always have a great experience. Even with the added safety measures to prevent Covid transmission (the curbside was safe and well done!) they were kind, informative and helped me decide on an affordable plan of action. Thanks yall - youre so appreciated by myself and my chubby kitty!
We took our cat (Spud) in today, after trying to find a good Vet over the weekend. Every other Vets office we tried would not even accept reservations. And, they all had 2+ hour waits. The doctor was great, the helper was great. Everything about the experience was great. We will definitely return here when we have to take our dog (Rowen) to the Vet.Great service, great atmosphere, good prices, and no wait...
Man, this place is the best vet in town! Weve taken both our dogs there for years now and thankfully, weve only had to go infrequently. However, my most recent visit reminded me how chill and professional they are at the same time. They clearly pay attention to animals, while also creating a super pleasant vibe for us humans as well. Thanks for keeping it real on the East Side at a time when everybody and their mom is fakin the funk!
I’ve had to go to Paz on short notice a couple of times and the service has always been amazing. Most recently they were able to fit me in same day for a vaccination and able to get my little kitty’s ears cleaned in no time. Really amazing folks and highly recommended.
We are new to Austin and have been looking for a vet for our senior pittie mix. Our dog is anxious and isnt great with other dogs. The receptionist made sure we could walk right into a room while we waited, which helps with the anxiety of our dog acting out if another animal entered the lobby. I was offered a beverage when I first arrived and while we waited to meet with the doctor. If you watch the youtube video on their website, what you see is what you get. We met with a very friendly tech, Jeanette and saw Dr. Jamie Senthirajah. They both got on the floor with our dog to do the exam and they were caring while being thorough. When it came time to leave, Jeanette lead us to a side door so we could avoid crossing paths with another dog in the lobby. Dr. Senthirajah called me first thing the following morning to review the lab results and later emailed a very detailed protocol for treating his arthritis. We are very happy with our choice to go with Paz Veterinary- East Side. Highly recommend.
UPDATE: The owner, Andrew, kindly reached out to address my concerns. After our conversation, I feel confident that the initial experience we had was not the norm, and we will be bringing our new kitten to Paz to give them another try!We recently moved to the Eastside and decided to try Paz as our new verterinary clinic. I have very mixed feelings upon leaving our appointment. On one hand, everyone was friendly, nice, and gentle with my two cats. On the other hand, the environment was unorganized, chaotic, and the techs all seemed very frazzled. I did a lot of waiting for first the tech, then the vet, then the tech again. My cats became increasingly anxious as we waited for the tech at the end of the appointment. I also did not see a thorough exam done of my cats. The vet mentioned they were overweight, but didnt follow-up with any advice or plan of action. I had to ask the tech what I should do, and I was supposed to receive an email about a potential course of action, but never did. At the register, I was charged almost $200 for 6 doses of Revolution for cats?! I can go online and get this preventative for less than half the price. I decided not to take the Revolution. After I left the office, I received a call alerting me that they had forgotten to give me the cats rabies vaccination tags. You can tell everyone there cares about the animals, but it was overall an unpleasant, chaotic, and rushed experience once my cats were actually seen. I am going to give this place another try, and will update my review after my next experience. Maybe it was just a bad day at Paz.
When I look for a vet, I want someone skilled in veterinarian medicine, but also someone that really cares about my pet the way I do. I found this with Dr. Vaughan. I have used Corner-Vet services twice. Once for a dog and the second time for my cat. I really felt he understood the issues and was able to explain to me what was happening and why and also the what the recommended treatments were. I highly recommend Corner-Vet. The convenience of the service and the reduced stress on my pets makes this my only choice for now on.
I literally just waited in the parking lot for half an hour to pick up some ready for pickup meds for my cat. In my anger and frustration I had left one star, but as I started to cool down, I reminded myself we are all just human, and I wanted to change it to at least 2 stars, but then I received an email with an apology and a small credit, which made me feel like the folks at Paz really did care about my long wait in the parking lot, so 3 stars it is.
Great place and wonderful people. The place has a great waiting area and makes you and your pet fewl at home. They are always offering espresso and they absolutely love your pet. The only reason i didnt give the place 5 stars is that they sometimes offer services that are probably not necessary. I love my two dogs, and ive had 3 others before these two who lived happy lives from 14 to 15 years old. I would have to say i didnt spend that much on my other pets when i was in Oklahoma. Unfortunately, im not a vet so i feel compelled to say yes to everything they recommend.
After years of bringing our pets to Paz, an extremely bad experience, combined with unacceptable customer service, has resulted in a complete lack of confidence in the management of Paz. The bells and whistles are not worth questionable services provided here, and I will no longer trust that my pets will be well cared for by this team. Expect unnecessary tests, inability to perform routine but serious procedures with expertise and compassion, and poor customer service if you have a concern. To add to this, the response youve written below is patronizing. Ive reached out for three weeks seeking resolution on my concerns, and have not received responses that indicate that the care of my pets is valued. Ive been offered a meeting that, when I accepted, I did not receive follow up on for over a week; Ive had to prompt the Operations Manager multiple times to respond to my concerns. The suggestion that my review is unfair (including being asked to take it down) indicates to me that you value your online presence more than actually providing strong customer service and quality care.
I could not have asked for a better vet experience! My very old kitty started acting a little funny, and I was already in hysterics before I even walked in. The moment Callie kitty and I stepped foot in Paz, I was immediately greeted with multiple smiles, calmed with the amazing and loving atmosphere, and had all of my questions and worries answered. My Callie is a trooper and is going to be just fine! Truly- the most incredible experience, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
PAZ REFUSED MY DOG IN AN EMERGENCY AFTER URGING US TO COME IN DURING A PAST VISIT, BUT ONLY AFTER A LONG HOLD AND ASKING FOR MORE MONEY.I recently had to change vets after the one I had been seeing retired. It was a struggle to find someone I trust with my dog. I thought I had found that in Paz, but we recently have had some health struggles and Paz has been so unreliable its actually impressive.First, getting through their front desk was difficult. I had to hang up and call back several times to have one short conversation. Then, at the appointment, the same front desk person ignored me when I said my dog could barely walk, pushing him onto the scale before I could get to him even though I told him my dog would fall. Surprise, he fell. The vet urged me in our visit to contact them and bring him in immediately if he showed symptoms again. When he showed symptoms and I called it was a repeat of the first time trying to get through. I was told there would be an additional $100 fee for same day help even though they had made it clear they wanted to see him at the first signs. His retired vet recommended another place across town. When I called Paz to have their records sent to me it was another whole problem to get through, and then a whole new difficulty to clarify the email address they would be sending the records to.Then, as my dog is having some sort of awful and clearly painful episode I give them one last shot since they were the closest option. As hes in my lap crying out the receptionist put us on a SIX MINUTE HOLD knowing it was an emergency! I had to call on another line while still on hold, which went right through, only to be told that she knew it was an emergency and that they wouldnt see us.PAZ REFUSED TO HELP AS MY DOGS FEVER SHOT UP AND HE WAS CRYING OUT IN PAIN.Another hold and she tells me I can MAYBE come in for an additional $100 charge, please hold and let her check. She comes back and says I could wait on hold to talk to the vet when hes free, but he wouldnt see us. In the time it took her to find out if the vet would even talk to us we were confirmed with the emergency vet and about to walk out the door.emergency care saw us right away and could not believe that Paz refused him. Followed up with his new vet shortly after. He was disgusted by their behavior, as it was well within their ability to help us, and also unhappy with their records after looking over the notes hed been provided. I will happily drive 30+ minutes extra to know the vet Im going to cares.
Best Vet in town! Not only is the building adorable, but Dr. Vaughn is so helpful and informative. He never pushes you towards anything and you can tell its not about the money. I feel very confident that my furbaby is getting the best of care at Corner Vet! Oh, and prices are very reasonable. :)
What a great surprise to have a neighbor as my vet. I discovered Dr. Vaughan DVM, when I started looking for a new vet. I have a wonderful 14+ year old Heeler named Monty and he began to slow down over night. I became concerned. My previous vet retired and his replacement just didnt have the care and concern as Dr Miller so thats when I went to Dr. Vaughan. Montys been coming to work with me his whole life so Dr. Vaughan came to my business to meet Monty. He came walking in with a lot of energy and passion for what he does for a living. He approached Monty with respect, kindness and was very caring and gentle. He even walked up and started massaging Monty and with in a minute Monty was fast asleep. Because Dr Vaughan noticed that the previous vet did not see in Montys blood work that Monty was fighting an infection, Monty was put on Antibiotics. Along with that we have him on a new diet. Monty is feeling so much better and will from now on only be cared for by Dr. Vaughan. If you are looking for a vet to come to your home or place of business who will look at you pet as a loving friend and approach them with respect and kindness, I would advice you to try Dr. Vaughan.
My dog declined suddenly and needed to be put to sleep. Paz Vet East found a way to squeeze us in, observed safety protocols while allowing me to hold him during his exit from this world, and were incredibly gentle, gracious, professional, and supportive of both my beloved Rusty and me.
Dr. Carter and the PAZ crew (formerly known as Corner Vet) has always taken great care of our pets. They have flexible hours, a clean and welcoming waiting area, and the staff is truly wonderful. Like most veterinarian clinics, it isnt cheap. We rarely leave without spending $150- $200 and have spent up to $500 for an annual check up that included blood work, heartworm meds and flea and tick prevention.
Doctors are great, loving, and kind. BUT this new practice claims to be a full service veterinary practice and yet they do not provide overnight care! My cat required hospitalization due to an acute urinary blockage which is exacerbated by STRESS. The Corner Vet requires that THE OWNERS transport their sick and scared animals to a hospital each night and then back to the Vet in the morning. EVERY DAY. They told us to use the Emergency Animal Hospital on Frontier Trail who are incompetent and heartless! When we questioned the staff at the Corner Vet about this ludicrous practice of back and forth, we were told that it would be too expensive for the Vet to provide overnight care (after we just paid them $1,500) and that this is how its always been done in Austin. How is this good for the animals? Austin is supposed to be a pet-friendly city, but this supposed common practice of back-n-forth transportation is a detriment to the health of our companions! PLEASE HELP TO CHANGE THE STATUS QUO. Challenge your local vets!! Just because it has always been done this way doesnt mean that it must continue. Stand up and fight for your pets life and quality of healthcare.
Doctor Nicholas Vaughn is simply the best vet in town!! Besides being so in tune with every single animal that meets his path, he is also an outstanding human being. I highly recommend this ambitious, well mannered, highly educated yet humble individual.Thank you for all that you do to my lovely Sofía and company!!
Paz really goes above and beyond to take care of both you and your pet. The vibe is very Austin - laid back, with beer on tap, and way less clinical than most vets. They make sure you receive the best care, but understand budgets and arent pushy if you cant afford something. Highly recommend.
I unfortunately must disagree with the positive reviews here, as I did not have a good experience at Paz. The vet which I interacted with was judgemental & condescending in her suggestions, and I walked away with a WHOPPING bill. The staff was also supposed to send a quote breakdown for further services for my pup, which they never did. Upon trying to submit the claim form for my insurance to Paz, Ive heard nothing back.
I called sometime last week to just get some basic information over the phone and was greeted by a kind young man named Albert. Albert answered all of my questions and helped me with some insight on how things operate at PAZ from a customers view. It is likely Ill use PAZ in the future as I am looking for a place to use regularly!!! Thanks Albert!!!
Dr Carter, James and the rest of the Paz team look after my boy so well.Ernie is a part of my family the same way I am, so its clear to say he means the world to my wife and I. Paz treat Ernie like I would treat Ernie if I was a veterinarian. Its as simple as that, the price is great, the service is friendly, jovial and efficient and you leave knowing your pet didnt hate it as much as you thought they might.Thank you for making my boy feel better.
Great east side Vet spot, adorable inside, they seem to take part in supporting other local businesses as well. They were very clear about shot and vaccine prices (Sam especially) ect. Gentle with our chihuahua and texted me a few hours later when we left his sweater!
Super attentive to detail, very friendly staff and awesome all around. can not recommend them enough. They fixed up my pooches when they got attacked by a dog and I couldnt thank them enough for everything. The doctors explain everything concisely and really care about my dogs
Recently I highly recommended Paz to some dear friends whose wonderful animal needed a delicate procedure. Well, the procedure went sideways and my friends will need to live with the horrific experience. I feel terrible that this happened, and as a result, I will no longer be bringing my animals there.I notice on another review here that the reviewer was asked to remove their 1 star comments- don’t bother requesting that of me because I won’t.
Before bringing my pup into Dr. Nicholas Vaughn for a minor shoulder injury, I knew that he was the kind of person who instantly lights up the room. Now I see how naturally his radiance translates to the perspective of animals as well! Within a matter of minutes, Dr. Vaughn became my dogs new favorite person, determined what the issue was with her front shoulder, and gave me some a simple solutions to solve her ailments. Rather than prescribing a bunch of costly meds, he encouraged me to tenderly rub her front shoulder which had been bothering her, every night for about 10 minutes after any high activity. Within a week she was no longer limping and could once again manage long runs with me along Town Lake. Not only did he find a solution to our problem, but he also gave me a quick Leash Training 101 class, which we embarrassingly needed desperately. Thank you Dr. Vaughn!
My girlfriends dog had labored breathing so I took him in. He died at the vet. I spoke with the doctor about how to handle informing my girlfriend. We agreed Id meet her at home after shes off work and then wed decide what to do with the body. These morons immediately emailed my girlfriend about the appointment so she called wondering why so then they told her over the phone her dog had died. She was out driving and now shes dangerously driving home while bawling her eyes out.The staff here are heartless inconsiderate pieces of s***DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. They are corporate shills of the worst variety. They are miserable, overworked, and uncaring.
I thought they took care of my babies. I brought my newly adopted cat, Salem, in for a wellness check. I was told he had a slight URI but everything else checked out fine. I was given an antibiotic for the infection and some probiotics to sprinkle on his food to increase intestinal health and boost his immune system. After 2 weeks of given Salem his treatment I find that he in fact has TAPEWORMS!!They are literally poor out of his hindquarters! Eggs and worms are everywhere. Beddings, furniture, you name it. Now I have to spend another $55 to book another appointment (because its $95 for emergency/walk-ins) plus any other maintenance to ensure it does not spread. Ive been crying all night. I paid for you to ensure my babys health and you failed me and Salem. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING HERE
I called Friday for an appointment. The front desk said they didnt do appointments in advance, that I was welcome to call the next day for same day appointment. I will be bringing my dog to another place. Of course, I called the next day and I was given a different information.
Paz has parking !!!! 😁Paz has an amazing , fun , accommodative friendly staff !Laurie Johnson and the staff handled Duke with care and compassion . Most importantly they saw the urgency in my concerns and Dukes condition. This was our first visit to Paz and I have to say I love it !Thank you very much ..
Ooopps I used the wrong google account when I wrote my last review and wanted to make sure it went towards my more used accounts reviews so here is another review :)PAZ East Austin has a great customer service staff and my personal experience was with Alberto who helped me gather some great information!!! Thanks again!!!
Horrible customer service at the front desk. I scheduled an appointment on line and was turned away when I arrived unless I was willing to pay the squeeze in fee. They told me that they had called and spoke to me about my appointment which was totally untrue also. Mikey was extremely rude when I called back after leaving to make sure that the appointment I had scheduled was canceled so I wouldnt be charged. They wont get my money again!!

2022-07-02Best veterinary clinic east side of the river! And probably all of Austin. PAZ takes such great care of our three cats, and they also took special care when I had to say goodbye to my first cat. I love the eclectic vibes of the waiting area. I always sit to the left because that’s where all the cat paraphernalia resides. Our vets have been so helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, dependable, and overall pretty fantastic. PAZ is great about scheduling visits in the event of an emergency or canceling appointments. The visits are priced fairly compared to vets in the area and throughout the city. If you’re looking for a vet, give them a call! I don’t think you’ll regret it.

2022-05-18I cant recommend PAZ East enough. Thank you Allison, Dr. Wilson, and Dr. Garcia for providing excellent care and for making us feel comfortable when our little guy was in need. They made a difficult experience more manageable.

2022-04-11The team here and the facilities far exceed my expectations. When my 13 year old best friends health declined I brought him here to let him go in peace with dignity. He closed his eyes for the final time while he lay on my chest, purring for the first time in weeks, knowing that he was loved. I will always be thankful for the amazing experience here and I cant recommend them highly enough.

2022-05-28I cannot possibly more highly recommend this puppy kindergarten training class with Kate and Nicole! My rescue puppy was very insecure and reactive when we first adopted him, but he was radiant with confidence after every class we had together! I am blown away by how much he blossomed and grew after each lesson. He is glowing with excited happiness to take on any new challenging life adventure now! Kate is genuinely incredible with her positive training approach, that taught my puppy to learn the most important commands almost instantly! She truly has a magic touch with every puppy and shows them all special loving understanding. Her unbelievable patience translates into all of the pups foundation learning more quickly, and the extra time she took to connect with us was extraordinary! We cannot sincerely thank you enough for all of the energy and effort you put into helping our puppies succeed :)

2022-02-25It has a more relaxed and less clinical feel to it than other vets Ive been to. I have a nervous pitbull who doesnt really like strangers but theyre patient with her and make her feel comfortable. Theyve also been able to squeeze me in when I had acute emergencies (she got pneumonia and needed to be seen ASAP, my other dog got a gash and needed stitches)

2022-07-11They were good with my cat but they refused to update my Chewy order without my cat coming in even though he needs the food to live (as regular food will cause him pain then death). I dont appreciate a vet clinic that will hold my cats health hostage because it has been 14 months since his last appointment. Ill be choosing someone else that puts pets first.

2022-07-02This office and the doctors within have been nothing but incredible as they have helped with my dogs longterm care. Despite a period of difficulty treating, the doctors stayed optimistic and diligent, and have never given up on us or our dog. I couldnt recommend a better veterinarian.

2022-06-30I trusted this place with all of my dogs care (and spent thousands of dollars) since rescuing her 1.5 years ago. It has gone downhill in that time. You will never see the same doctor twice (I think its due to turnover), and I am no longer confident in the medical care I receive here. My sweet dog recently had a UTI. She was under-prescribed antibiotics (the recommendation length is 10-14 days, and she received 7 days). The UTI went away and then showed signs of returning. I was told she is resistant to the antibiotic and they need to run a whole new battery of tests (presumably costing us another $300). I explained she responded well to the antibiotics, but she was not given the recommended full cycle of the meds--and I was going out of town and we couldnt wait on lab tests. Alison, a vet tech, argued with me, insulted my intelligence, and talked over me, convincing me they have no empathy or care for my dog. She also mentioned I should have been told to bring my dog back in for a follow-up visit after completing her antibiotics to make sure the UTI was gone (again.... presumably costing us another $300), which I was not told by the doctor previously. Safe to say, I will not be back and this place can kick rocks. Oh--and if it wasnt clear already--you can count on always walking out with a $$$ bill. As others have mentioned, this place seems to care more about money than your pup. Please go elsewhere.

2022-07-17Knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. Its the place to be if youre an anxious pet mom like me. I dont think my cat even realized she was at the vets.

2021-05-29I’ve been meaning to write a review for the staff at PAZ the past few weeks as they really helped us in a pinch. We were walking with our dog on a Friday night and he got stung by something causing an allergic reaction. That reaction progressively got worse thoughtout the night. By Saturday morning he had really bad hives and welts all over his body. Our normal vet doesn’t have Saturday office hours we called PAZ and they took him in ASAP after we explained the situation. Once they treated him it was back to normal. For an emergency visit on a Saturday morning they were very reasonably priced, extremely accommodating, and friendly. They explained to me everything they needed to do and they were very upfront about how much it would cost. I would recommend them to anyone look for a vet in Austin!
