STAY AWAY!!!HORRIBLE VET AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS HEALTH AT ALL!! ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE MONEY!! THE RUDE RECEPTIONIST SHOWED NO PROFESSIONALISM OR CUSTOMER SERVICE OR ANY COMPASSION TOWARD MY SICK DOG!!! SHE THINKS I WORK FOR HER?? LIKE I HAVE TO BE RESPECTFUL?? ZERO CONCERN FOR MY DOG!! ONLY BAD ATTITUDES!!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Loved the care this vet & team provided. They were able to get me in quickly, took the time to answer all my questions, clearly explained the treatment options (including some natural, at home remedies I can add in) for my sick pooch, and gave all the costs up front. The quality of care, compassionate attention, thorough communication, price (cheaper than my usual vet), and extended service hours will be bringing me back. Cant thank these folks enough! 🙏💓Extra bonus points for their hip, laid back atmosphere.
Vets & Techs are Amazing. Myself & the front desk had an equal miscommunication one time. I received a call the next day from the manager & we resolved the issue. I appreciate that Paz is not only concerned on the animals but makes it a goal to be engaged & concerned with their staff & patients. We all have teaching moments. I will be back anytime our pups need a vet! Thank you for all you do Paz!!
Just transitioned to PAZ after almost a decade seeing a small vet clinic out in the hill country. The entire staff is great and take the time to listen to you. Dr. Webb did a fantastic job helping me to understand some things to keep an eye out for with our older pooch. They are doing curbside visits right now, but chat with you for a bit during handoff and the vet calls you before they bring your critter back out. Great vibes here.
Front desk staff is obnoxious / rude with some serious entitlement issues. Unusually more expensive than other places. However, once you get past them, the techs and vets are solid. Dog loves the place. Taking two stars for front desk and price (if I’m paying a higher price, I expect better service)
It’s the worst receptionist experience ever. I didn’t even finish my call and was sharing a very painful incident of my puppy, she cut me off with a respond “ we have no appointments available, thanks” wow! I am still digesting how rude people can be. And the fact that they are in a world to provide service of who can’t speak, I can only imagine the empathy level these people have. Please train your staff to be kind if not anything.
I want to personally thank the staff of Paz Vet clinic on South 1st. Unfortunately our first visit was to help our old Labrador cross the Rainbow Bridge. The care, compassion, facility, and everything about the experience was the best of a bad situation. Paz is now my vet for my chocolate Labrador. Thank you again for the love and compassion you showed me and my beloved Labrador Lucky dog.
Ive gone to Paz on the eastside of town for the past few years, all until the get we normally saw left. Decided to give the south location a try because it was closer. Ive been missing out!!Same great vibes at this location (gotta love consistency in experience) and Dr. Kiefer is wonderful. Both him and the vet techs took their time building a relationship with my pup and answering all of my questions. Now that my dog is getting older - I appreciate that even more.Would highly recommend.
I have nothing but good things to say about PAZ South! They are always very professional and take great care of my puppy. My dog has some anxiety around going to the vet, and they go above and beyond to make sure he feels comfortable. I appreciate how they always call to follow up the day after our visit.
I highly recommend PAZ Veterinary animal hospital on South First Street. They were absolutely perfect, handling our walk-in emergency. Every single staff member was so kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable, as Anthony, Curzon, and I were going through our 5-month-olds final days. Ive tried several vet offices in Austin, and this one is by far, the best. Next time your animals need medical care, please give them a try.
We love going here, my dog loves the staff so much taking him here feels more like a treat than a chore. The doctors do a great job of working around covid restrictions, I dont feel like Im missing out on any information because I cant go in with him.Covid vet trips have been stressful for us because our dog is not good with other dogs, so its not always easy handing him off to that staff and being comfortable that theyll keep him out of trouble. But honestly that hasnt been a concern for us since we started coming here. The doctors are great and very clear about whatever they find despite having to communicate everything over the phone. They are also upfront and cognizant of cost when it comes to treatment and dont simply try to run up bills to take advantage of people. I dont feel like Im being pressured to do anything and theyre clear about the difference between suggested treatment and necessary treatment. They also provide options at different price points and let you decide whats going to work best for you. For example, our dog doesnt mind going to the vet and is good with getting shots so we opted for an injection for fleas, but were giving several options with price and experience that I would have felt comfortable with any dog I had.Strongly recommend, the only thing I would note is they can get pretty busy and sometimes its hard to get new patients seen. Even that hasnt been an issue though for us personally because the staff have been willing to do things like notify us of a last second cancellation that we could take. They even have ways of squeezing emergency visits in at the last second despite them not being technically an emergency vet.
I moved here last February with my 2 cats and dog. I have had many new upcoming issues with them since our move. We went to a few different vets and NONE of them were even half way decent. I constantly felt like a number and nobody really cared about my fur babies. My friend recommended PAZ and whoa they were AMAZING. Dr. Jamie Senthirajah and staff truly care about our fur babies. He asked all the questions in order to provide me with the best outcome. I am so thankful I can finally help my animals and have a veterinary that doesnt treat me like a number.
I’m that crazy dog lady y’all. I have 3 rescue dogs, accidentally fostered a momma and her pups from the shelter, and accidentally adopted one of said pups, turned my house into a kennel, and cook my dog real human grade meals. The humans in my house had to get curbside during shelter in place because I was too exhausted to cook for them after I’m done being Martha Stewart for the dogs. My bar is high, and PAZ is absolutely the best veterinary practice hands down. A+, 10 out of 10 and I’m not easy to please, especially when it comes to my babies. The staff is amazing, and genuinely care about their clients. The offices are warm and inviting, and dogs are allowed on the furniture, because this is Pet Mecca people. I was so impressed at how fast they adapted to new normals during the shelter in place, so our fur babies could still get excellent vet care. One less thing for all of us to stress about. And you would think it would a complete mess, but somehow all of the staff knew exactly what was going on, and when my Bella got an ear infection, I simply called, pulled into a parking spot, and had a phone consult to get her taken care of. THANK YOU for pulling it together so I didn’t have to. This isn’t your ordinary vet. And if they would treat me, I’d let them. Want to do right by your pets? Take them to PAZ and see for yourself.
If you want great pet care, this place is the best. I cant recommend it enough, if you have the money or if you have some kind of pet insurance. You get what you pay for, and although this is the best vet Ive ever brought my cat to, its also the most expensive my a significant (2-3x) amount.
I am really impressed with this vet! My husband and I moved from Michigan and have been looking for a vet in Austin that felt like family... felt welcoming. And this vet is it. Dr Webb saw my 6 almost 7 year old cat for her limping and gave me multiple options for solutions and were very transparent with prices! I have seen a lot of reviews saying they are really pricey but I don’t agree. You pay for the quality you want to receive for your animal babies and they are top notch here! They even called next day to check up on my cat urban and make sure I didn’t have any questions. I am so thankful I found them! DONT HESITATE, book here! You won’t regret it.
The staff and everyone there is great but my review is a one star because of the surgery that was done on my dog was not up to par. Took my dog bella to get surgery on her cherry eye and still looks the same I feel that dr.kruped didnt do a good job. I was told and fully understood that it can come back but the surgey that was done no difference what so ever. At first during the healing process ofcourse it was gonna be swollen but a month after still nothing has changed. Im very disappointed and will not return because no one there has done anything to help me solve this. Now, Im told I have to spend another 900 which is just ridiculous when it should have been corrected the first time. If I could I would give this no stars but I cant. Friends of mine have gotten their dogs the surgery and with in the same day of surgery once they gone home their is nothing their but my poor bella still has her cherry eye. Here are pictures before and after. Dont recommend this vet for surgerys on cherry eyes.
Dr. Mellencamp is the reason we’re leaving this vet. My cat has had a cough for days and I got an X-ray done on Friday. She told me that she would call on Saturday to let me know if they found anything. I’ve called 3x and I’ve still have not heard back and it’s now Tuesday. Additionally, no one has called me to update me on the delay. If it weren’t for me consistently following up I wouldn’t have heard anything. Do not recommend this place at all. Poor value and service for the amount you pay.Conveniently I was contacted by the doctor and the office quickly after posting this review.
Dr. Lawton is a great veterinarian and very honest about his recommendations. We started taking our olde English Bulldogge to PAZ and have had nothing but great experiences with all of the staff. We were very appreciative that Dr. Lawton was able to meet us in person to discuss any health concerns we had with our puppy and suggested food options. I would absolutely recommend PAZ and plan on our dog Odin to be a forever patient!
I recently lost my 11 1/2 year old Golden to cancer and the vets and the entire staff could not have been more compassionate or caring during a very difficult day. I would highly recommend this clinic based on the vet’s knowledge and the entire staff being very respectful and kind during the entire process.
I brought my puppy in with an ear infection and a dog bite, and the vet techs and vet were super warm and welcoming. They were very informative and did a thorough check up of my puppy. They even called the next day to follow up and see how she was doing after her appointment, which has NEVER happened before anywhere else, and was much appreciated. I would highly recommend this vet clinic.
Before moving to Austin, we lived in NJ with our senior cat, and we *adored* our vet. He was integral to her living 17 happy and healthy years. She came to Austin with us and we also got a puppy soon after moving. We started going to Paz and really enjoyed our experience right off the bat. Their prices are fair for the quality of service provided and they always communicate cost clearly. We always felt welcomed by the staff and different vets that we saw. We moved from the south to the north and ended up also going to the East location and then once opened, North location. Paz was consistently a reliable place for us to bring our pets. However we did end up seeing different vets many times due to scheduling/vets switching locations, so we didnt feel like we were building the same kind of relationship we had with our vet in NJ.Last September, our dog had an emergency and Dr. Colby Kiefer squeezed her into the schedule so we didnt have to bring her to an ER. We hadnt worked with him before, but it felt like he knew us forever. He was compassionate, attentive, thoughtful, and thorough. He explained everything in detail and answered every question without making me feel like an overbearing pet parent. He was mindful of cost and tried his best to make all of the services we needed accessible. It was a really challenging experience to have our dog in such bad shape and not be able to go in with her (due to COVID), and he made us feel extremely comfortable with everything going on. Our dog made a quick and full recovery and we were super grateful to meet Dr. Kiefer. He now works at the South location and we drive across the river to bring all our pets to see him. He is incredibly responsive and caring and I could rave all day about how grateful we have been to work with him.We also have worked with Dr. Senthirajah in the past and would recommend him highly as well.We did have some miscommunications over the phone at our last visit with our two cats. However, Paz did everything to rectify the situation and we were really happy with how it was handled. We look forward to continuing to work with the Paz family and Dr. Kiefer.
We love PAZ Vet! More importantly, our 3 dogs love it too. The staff is always courteous and makes our pets feel welcome and attended to. The veterinarians are all very knowledgeable and consultative. Even though they are busy due to their popularity, we’ve never felt rushed through an appointment and appreciate the naturopathic and holistic options that are provided alongside more traditional options. Pricing is more than fair. The extended hours make it easy to schedule appointments around our work schedules. Couldn’t be happier with the PAZ team and their treatment of our furry friends!
Hands down the best veterinary office I have ever taken my pups to. The environment alone is worth it since it feels more relaxed and not so much like a doctors office. Helps keep the pups calm too. Then the staff is so caring and takes their time with each pet. It was an all around great experience and we will definitely continue to bring our dogs here.
When we moved to Austin in 2019 we were looking for a vet for our senior dog. We first tried PAZ on the east side as it was closer to our apartment, but I didn’t have a great experience there. We decided to give the South location a try and have been so happy with the compassionate care we’ve received there. Throughout the year, our sweet girl’s health started to rapidly decline (due to what we suspect was probably a growth in her brain), but Dr. Mellencamp was there for us every step of the way. We discussed options and ended up determining a palliative care routine to keep her stable and comfortable and ultimately ended up allowing us to have several more months with her than was originally estimated.Dr. Mellencamp provides very detailed information but in a clear way anyone can understand. She also sends home reading materials for pet parents like me who want to do their homework on what is going on with their fur baby. She is the best vet we have ever had! In emergency situations, we’ve had other vets in the practice and we have been blown away by all of them. When we adopted a rescue in November, it was a no-brainer to return to PAZ South for his care. Thank you to Dr. Mellencamp and the whole PAZ South team for what you do!
This is the spot. Friendly staff and free beer! Very knowledgeable and honest. They make it super easy to communicate with via phone, text, email. Flexible scheduling that works for your work schedule. Being able to send pictures to the vet prior to coming in is a huge plus. I definitely recommend PAZ for all your furry friends. They treat our golden as if he was their own. Morton loves visiting Dr. Senthirajah!
I’ve been using PAZ for a little over a year now and would HIGHLY recommend them. The front staff are not only thorough and kind, they have a wonderful sense of humor and always treat my pets like the good boys they are. We use Dr. Lassen and he’s set the bar so high for Veterinary experience we couldn’t imagine taking our pets anywhere else. PAZ has a very chill Austin themed clinic that takes away the “scary” vet clinic vibe. Thank you PAZ for everything you do for my dogs and now cats. Y’all are simply the best at what you do!
Amazing first time experience! This clinic was built with your pet’s comfort and well being in mind. Harmonious, very comfortable and inviting space for you and your furry family member. But, it’s not just the spaces inside PAZ that make it special, it’s the ENTIRE Staff and Doctors that showed sincere care for your pet and provided EXCEPTIONAL Customer service. Thank you for making a difference! Customer for life:-)
When the pandemic started and I was no longer able to be with my dog at his vet visits, I made the decision to leave my old vet and come to PAZ. I heard nothing but great things. My old vet, I didnt trust enough to send my dog in without me there. So, I had to make this decision. While, its more expensive than my last vet, the quality of care is amazing and worth it. Dr. Thompson calls me about my dog Woody and keeps me updated. Everyone is so kind here. I feel comfortable to have PAZ examine my dog without me there. I was forced to make this change for my dog amid the pandemic.
My dog Levi is usually an anxious mess whenever at the vet but since we started coming to PAZ, he is the most comfortable he has ever been! When first arriving, the facility is beautiful and has a cozy “at home” feeling, then we are greeted by Melissa, who is so incredibly nice and accommodating and took great care of us while we waited to be seen. Dr. Lassin cares about you and your animals and wants to make sure they’re as comfortable as possible. He is patient and never forces your pets into anything that would make them feel unsafe! This is the best vet experience we have ever had and will continue to make the drive from San Marcos to them. We love PAZ!
Everyone at PAZ is amazing and very professional!! My poor puppy had a scratch and infection so I called PAZ. They were completely booked that day but still managed to squeeze us in immediately. The front staff was kind, the assistants were helpful, and the doctor was very thorough with the examination. I love PAZ and trust them with my puppies life!!
This place is the best! They take such great care of my doggies! Dr. Webb is so patient and kind and takes her time to explain everything. The front staff are always super sweet! I even met one of the managers there and he is pretty awesome! Really went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of. Would certainly recommend!
Customer service was friendly and genuine theyre willing to go above and beyond and its greatly appreciated. An excellent selection of quality food, toys, harnesses, ect. Theres even some cute dog shirts that would fit Pitties which is typically hard for me to find in a store.
I love Paz. Everyone is truly caring and wonderful when it comes to taking care of my dog. They were wonderful when we found out one of our boys had cancer. They would call and check on him sent us a nice card from the entire staff after he passed. Many wrote little things that they loved about him. Now with our other dog Sam he has major teeth issues and everyone is great explaining every single thing. Dr. Julian spends as much time as we need to ask questions and understand everything. All the techs know Sam and are great with him. He loves his tech Rachel and Brooke in the front! Ill gladly pay more to know they are thorough and genuinely concerned.
Just moved to Austin and needed a new vet so I read a few reviews and made an appointment at PAZ. After a few visits, I would highly recommend PAZ! The staff have been helpful, caring, transparent, and informative about all my options. My little dog is already feeling relief from her allergies PLUS they serve cold brew during your visit. Thanks PAZ! Glad we found you!
Took my cat here for the first time and they accommodated for my adopted cat and his vaccination needs very well. They are super friends and the place is clean and artsy. Update: now I have 2 cats and take them both here. One of them has anxiety and develops urinary tract problems a few times a year and Paz sees me cat even announced. The docs here will try to treat your pets with more natural resources and not stuff them them full of medication all the time, because prevention is the best medicine.
The absolute best vet collective in all of Texas. I send all of my friends with new pups here and everybody agrees. My dog and I have been going since he was a baby and have always had amazing care. We were just there for an emergency and they went above and beyond what I ever thought was possible. I truly can’t sing higher praises!
I LOVE Paz! Very friendly staff and the doctor who treats my pup is great! The lobby looks like a living room and pets are allowed on the furniture. This makes a less intimidating and frightening wait for pets and humans. The whole ethos of Paz is to make the experience as effective and peaceful as possible. They rock it!
So grateful to have found this clinic after we moved to the area from Houston. There is a high-level of client care - everyone is genuine and lovely. We have used Dr. Johnson for acupuncture for both of my dogs (with some appts at the 1st St. location) - she is incredible! The treatments and herbal recommendations have had a very positive impact on my dogs. :)
I cannot tell you how IMPRESSED I am with the entire PAZ team. They are extremely helpful, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I also love the vibe of this company/office - very unique and “Austin”. I had been looking for a specific vet that covers more of a holistic approach and Dr. Lassin is the perfect fit! He actually cares about my dogs and their well being - he has given some great advice to me. I trust his expertise! He doesn’t force any meds/vaccines and values the way I raise my dogs - which I appreciate. I also love how they give you a thorough summary of what we talked about during our visit. Best vet I’ve ever been to - hands down. Thank you PAZ team!
Ive had lots of pets & vet visits in my life, but Paz goes over & beyond expectations. You cant beat great customer service, from the moment you walk in the door. Big shout out to Brooke for her warm & welcoming smile! Definitely would recommend this clinic to my other fur-baby mamas!
Weve been going to this place for about 1 year now and have dealt with their short comings due to proximity to our house. They have like 5 receptionist but none of them is capable of doing their job other than bringing you beer which is probably why most people give this place good ratings. The vets have omitted vital information about drug side effects and counter indications that have resulted in seizures for my dogs. With the last straw being them not sending a remainder for vaccines which i only find out about because they refusing to fill my dogs heartworm medication despite me going to the vet every two months due to my dogs illness. Incredible miscommunication and horrible customer service, without to mention their ridiculous pricing.
PAZ Veterinary on S 1st street is amazing! Everyone there is so kind and welcoming and they truly care about your dogs needs. They don’t do any extra that you don’t need to run up a bill and they use natural methods whenever possible before using medication. Would highly recommend them to anyone in the Austin area!
I have taken both of my dogs to Paz for various issues and each visit has been a fantastic experience! We have seen 3 of the vets at the South location - Drs. Croudep, Julien, and Lassin - and they have all been amazing! They each took time with me to explain/educate the neuter process, why my 4 year old dog has arthritis already, how they are going to clean and staple up an open wound etc. The team discusses cost up front prior to any procedures and Ive never felt that they were trying to add or sell me unnecessary products or procedures, while still being through. The vet techs are also knowledgeable amazing with my dogs! The overall atmosphere of their clinic is relaxed and funky-fun. The price points of their services are reasonable. Even a last minute appointment when my dog lost a fight with a barbed wire fence was surprisingly inexpensive - definitely got out of there paying less than I would have at an emergency clinic. Maybe they butter me up by telling me how handsome my dogs are, but I cant recommend this clinic and the Drs. enough!
I love Paz Vet. My poor cat has Pandoras syndrome which, Ive discovered, is pretty difficult to treat. Paz Vet has taken the time to recommend lots of different options and provided me with the research to back them up. Theyre thorough, kind, and creative in their approach. Plus, their office is somehow a joy to be in with cute decor, a separate cat waiting area, and cold brew.
When I first adopted my dog Stella, I took her to one of the affordable vet options here in Austin. While I believe the vets there are fully qualified to treat my pet, I wasnt satisfied with the service there. It took me almost 2 hours to get in and out for a routine check-up and round of shots (and I had made an appointment). I was referred here by a friend and Im glad I came here when Stella fell ill.First off, when Ive come into Paz (twice now), Ive been checked in and in an examination room with a Vet Tech within minutes. And the cold brew they have in the waiting room is awesome.Shorty after, Dr. Senthirajah came into the room and did a very thorough examination of my pet and was very clear in explaining what could be wrong and what treatment paths we could choose. Paige and the other tech (sorry forgot your name!) did a great job keeping Stella calm and happy while drawing blood and administering fluids. Even though shes been ill, she seemed happy to be at Paz.Im writing this review just hours after our visit, but the overall service has been outstanding so far, and I feel very confident in the ability of the staff here to diagnose and treat my pet. I really hope shes feeling better soon.I especially like that I have the ability at Paz to establish a primary Doctor that will know the history of my pets health for check-ups moving forward. This was not an option at the affordable clinic. The prices are only marginally higher here, but given the fact that Stella and I will save hours of scary vet waiting room time and Ill have the peace of mind knowing shes getting the best care possible make it the clear winner for me.Thank you Paz staff!
My cat sees Dr. Lassin because I like his natural/holistic approach. He is very knowledgeable, kind, considerate of my budget, and communicates everything really well, including follow up care. I cannot recommend him highly enough!PAZ itself has a very cool collaborative medical business model going on that seems to be a win/win/win for pets, their people & the vets - LOVE it!!
This is the greatest place on earth. I live 30 minutes away without traffic and I would never even consider changing vets. All the people who work here are friendly and knowledgeable. They care and it shows! Dr. Lassin is an amazing vet and I love that he gives me both western and eastern medicine options. My dog was hacking for almost two years and no vet could help, Dr. Lassin figured it out right away. I have three pups and I feel 100% confident that they are in the best hands at PAZ. Thank you!
I LOVE this vet! The staff is very warm and friendly (and also just super cool. Like, everyone’s super hip and just clearly loves animals. My kinda people.) and the doctors/staff are so helpful and will answer any and all of my dumb questions. Plus they offer you cold brew and beer when you go in. It’s not yo mama’s vet. I love this place, if you have a pet, you should definitely go here!
Paz is the BEST veteranian group I’ve been to in the past three years that I’ve had fur babies. They are extremely attentive and qualified, and the employees’ passion for what they do shines through in the office’s overall tone. I had an emergency yesterday with my puppy and they rushed her right in, speaking to me lovingly and calmly as my anxiety came through. My puppy is doing great!!!!I highly recommend Paz to anyone seeking incredible attention and care for their pets!
DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE BANKRUPT!No questions about their quality but they charge 4x the price of Emancipet and 2x the price of Thrive Vet (which is right next door). I think they should be more transparent about their pricing at least about vaccines/consultation fees which are probably standard prices. Also, they are very sneaky about adding on more costs so you end up spending $500 than $100 per pet. If youre a stuffed Californian who doesnt care about your spending, go here. For everyone else, there is always Emancipet :)
The best! Ill admit, I tried out another vet awhile back, but Im back for good! Yes, its more expensive than some other places, but theyre completely transparent about it. The vet tech ALWAYS goes over all the charges with you before any procedures are done. The staff is great, the vets are amazing, and I trust leaving my dogs health in their care. The facility is clean and, in my opinion, completely worth the cost for my furbabies.
I have had nothing but good experiences taking my pups and kitty to Paz! I highly recommend seeing Dr. Lassin for all of your vet needs. He is kind and compassionate, and will answer all of your concerns. If you’re looking for a great holistic vet, he’s the one to go to in Austin! Also shout out to Brooke L. and Rachel B. Brooke, the receptionist we often interact with, is nothing but professional and warm and always makes us feel welcome. Rachel, our tech, was so great in handling our animals and made them feel comfortable with being at the vet. Paz is amazing!
I previously would have given this place a 3-4 star review after having had them for a year, but because of the final experience I had with them Im giving them a one.As a complete disclaimer, and to be completely clear, most of the Vet techs at Paz are great. Weve actually never had a bad or even questionable experience when dealing directly with the Vet techs here. Also, this review solely relates to the Paz south location. In our occasional dealings with the east location, theyve been fantastic.Unfortunately, the reception service at Paz South is absolutely terrible, and the veterinarians are hit or miss and seem to be more concerned often times with turnover then your dog. They generally feel disconnected and occasionally uninterested.Walking into the vet clinic, there are typically 4-5 hipsters mulling around and having discussions with each other at the desk while the one or two helpful desk workers, as we call them, greet you.The vets here are generally hit or miss. Ive found them to be mostly responsive, but really lack what I expect from a trained vet with 6 years of college training. With that being said, what just happened put the icing on the cake of bad service. We order Trifexis (flea/heartworm) medication from Chewy, that has to be approved by Paz. We ordered the medication from Chewy towards the beginning of the month, and had issues with Chewy calling our previous vet, etc. Were delayed.Chewy then went ahead and resubmitted the request for medication to Paz, and we received a response now, May 21st. Our dog is due for her medication exactly on June 1st.What does Paz do? They deny the request for medication because our dog hasnt been in for her yearly checkup, 10 days late, in the middle of a pandemic. The cherry on top of this is that we never even received a courtesy reminder, which is typical of a vet clinic, especially one with 4-5+ desk attendants who frequently can be found doing nothing other than asking if youd like to serve yourself coffee. So the solution here, according to Paz, for a dog being late for their yearly checkup during a pandemic, is to withhold time sensitive medication that has to ship immediately. On calling Paz, the desk attendant was flat out rude. We were obviously annoyed, and the only solution was to physically come into the establishment at earliest NEXT WEEK (too late to order the medication from Chewy), for the appointment. As suggested by them, we could also buy the medication there at an extreme markup as most of their products are. This is absurd. We were at Paz nearly monthly for quite a while with both of our dogs. We were last at Paz in March. They specifically told us we dont need to be seen until its time for vaccines. They have seen our dogs and seen us. There is no excuse for:1. Not sending a reminder for yearly checkup2. WITHHOLDING MEDICATION BECAUSE OF ITObviously were finding a new vet immediately. Stay away from the south location. As ok as the vets are, and great as the vet techs are, the front desk is ridiculous. Anyone running this business should have fired half of them months ago and had people with actual customer service experience in their place.Never seen a place with so many people dedicated to customer service with such horrible customer service, quite frankly. Paz is great if your core focus is feeling hip and drinking cold brew, but there are much better options out there otherwise.
Love the entire staff at Paz! Everyone is consistently helpful and compassionate even during all of this COVID craziness! Reception staff is friendly and accommodating, the technicians are kind and patient, and the doctors are thorough and great at providing various options & recommendations for all of my pets needs:) Much love to this team!
My dog got into some items in our house that were potentially harmful. PAZ staff got us in immediately and took him back as soon as we arrived. They cared so much for him. They made sure we were doing ok in the process. We cannot be more thankful for the care we received. The front desk staff was wonderful I cannot day enough about them. Dr. Isaac and the staff at PAZ are amazing.
This was the best experience we’ve had at a vet. Atmosphere was great & we loved the vibe. I didn’t think going to the vet could be so cool. Rachel was phenomenal. And Dr. Lassin could not have been a better person to help us. I really valued his holistic approach and his open and transparent dialogue. If you want to have a great time at the vet and put your little babies into the hands of someone you trust then I highly recommend PAZ as your next vetinary option!
We’ve found our new vet! We’ve been struggling for a while to see eye to eye with our pups vet and by a while I mean 5 years. Paz however was perfect! Our anxious one was far more relaxed, dr lassen was far less conventional, offering more holistic options for my pups issues. Was very happy with our visit and we will be back for sure!
The worst part about having a dog, is having to let them go when it’s time. One of the hardest days was put at ease by this entire staff. I can’t thank you enough for all that you did, and the way that you handled It. Melissa was amazing to get everything scheduled and ready for us, and the entire staff that was involved from the moment that we walked in, really helped to ease our pain. Our other dog already loves this place, and the future dogs we plan to have will always be coming here too. Thank you.
This place is meovelous! I have been forcing my kiddies to get poked and prodded by PAZ, formerly know as Corner Vet (Much easier to say), since 2016. I have never even considered taking them anywhere else. Well, that’s not entirely true. One time I did consider dropping them off at the dog park so they would actually get some exercise. I didn’t do it though, realized it would have been a CATastrophe.
My younger dog had some hip pain and I made an appointment for the same day after other S Austin vets and clinics were booked up. The vet and a nurse spent an hour with us, on the floor with him, to diagnose him. They listened to my concerns and after the x-ray confirmed he has hip dysplasia, went over short and long term treatment options and their costs. They also addressed some other ligament issues that were noticed on his front legs. I dont know if that is the usual amount of time they spend with their clients, but I was blown away at their compassion and just the amount of listening they did. All of the staff was incredibly helpful and nice and the decor is cool too! Not to mention the price for services and meds was less than I had expected to pay. I will recommend this vet to everyone!
Ive only been during the pandemic, so I cannot speak to the interior, but everyone Ive dealt with has been caring and professional. Dr. Senthirajah was thorough in explaining what the kitties needed and called the very next day with both blood and stool test results. Great experience!
Awesome vet, with great all around staff. They truly care about your furry family member as much as you do, and keep you up to date on everything to expect and what each visit, vaccination, and set of meds is for. Cannot reccomend PAZ highly enough, they are wonderful.
PAZ is truly a one of a kind vet in Austin. From the awesome folks at Corner Vet, theyve put together an even better experience that puts you at ease that your best friend is in the best hands. Its rare to find a group that cares enough to not only learn everything about your pet (even the little quirks), but that follows up on each detail to make sure youre fully happy. Id like to give you specific names, but honestly theyre all great people. Each vet knows their stuff and is honest and up front with you about whats necessary versus what other options are out there. The techs are more friends than strangers and will put even the most stressed pet at ease (theyre totally fearless of the risk of bites or scratches), and the staff up front are super responsive. These guys wont disappoint. If you love your pet and would do anything for them, this is your spot.
Paz gets 5 stars. Not only b/c of their trendy decor and modern website. These Vets are extremely knowledgeable for your pet care. Education, expertise and modern technology serves their pet community well. And it’s super cool that your vet will come in dressed in their own style. That’s Austin for ya!
This is one of the best vet clinics in Austin, hands down. Doctor Lassin is our vet of choice and my dogs love him. I can always get an appointment (they offer late hours), he doesnt force a million unnecessary vaccines on my dogs, and he is a wealth of information on diet and nutrition. We are treating my dog holistically the way I have wanted for a really long time. I have seen a huge change in my dogs hip dysplasia and pain through the use of supplements, proper diet and laser therapy. I would have put my dog through a painful surgery if I hadnt found this vet. Love it !
We love taking our dog, Rusty, to Paz! Everyone is so sweet and attentive to him, he is never uncomfortable (even when getting shots) and is always excited to go once he realizes where we are. I couldnt imagine taking him anywhere else, I would be shocked to find a better vet experience!
Paz is not only the best total vet experience I’ve ever had, but also my dog’s! I will admit, I am overly obsessed with my dog, Dexter (it’s healthy, I promise). That being said, finding a vet who shares my affinity for my dog was crucial. We brought our boxer to Paz on the first day we had him and it was love at first sight and is truly my dog’s favorite place to go, to this day! All the doctors and techs are loving and knowledgeable. Dr. Lassin is our vet and I can’t brag enough about him. Not only is he brilliant and incredible interacting with Dexter (boxer kisses and wiggles galore), he is so kind and personable. I sincerely appreciate how he explains all the options, including vaccine information and options. Knowing that Dexter will be cared for in a comprehensive way means the world to me. If you are looking for a vet that will not only take care of your pet, but become a part of your animal’s tribe, Paz is the perfect place.
I love this place. Even though my dog is embarrassing as she squeals with excitement when she comes in, they all greet us with a friendly welcome! The doctors and staff are so knowledgeable and kind, and my pup is pumped to go to the vet! We are PAZ loyal from here on out!!!!
When we were looking for a Vet to help us with our english bulldog, Duke who had lymphoma, we came across Dr Lassin and with his holistic background he was able to he help us get Duke on track with his prednisone dosage, food changes vitamins herbs etc, & we were honored to have him with us for an extra 5 months longer than expected. If you are looking for a Vet that will spend the time with you and explain all your options without making you feel pressured on what is right or wrong but yet what is best for you and your pet look no further! The staff and vet techs were also very kind.Highly reccomend Paz Veterinary!
Wow. This new location is amazing. They probably have the best facilities and operating room this side of the Mississippi. Ive been bringing my dog to these guys for a few years and they have always been great doctors, bit this location was kinda small and dated. Now they have some hi-tech looking gear and a spacious new place to fix up the pup. Nice work Corner Vet people!
I cant say enough about Paz Vet. I only visited once unfortunately due to some bad news, but I tell you, if I do ever decide to get another baby, their lifetime will be spent at this vet. Dr. Thompson and the front office staff are unbelievable, especially in one of the toughest times of my life. I have received personal texts, emails and cards weekly since my Madox crossed over to the rainbow bridge. Again, thank you for all of the kindness and support you all have given me. Hope to see you all soon :)
Dr. Ike and his team have been so genuinely caring and concerned for our baby boy, Todd. They have been more than accommodating, treated him with respect, they actually care about his emotional state and have been very communicative and helpful. When Todds medical problem became more problematic, they helped us both financially and found us a great surgeon for Todd and have continued to reach out and stay updated on his health with us. If you want your pet to be treated like a family member then Paz is the place for you.
PAZ took care of my cat and took care of me too.My 18-year-old orange tabby, Jake Jr., came down with an upper respiratory infection last week. After two trips to the emergency clinic, no improvement, and no availability at our usual vet, I gave PAZ a call. After giving them a rundown, they managed to fit me in just 30 minutes later. That alone would be enough to praise them for, but (as a trans woman) to show up and see visibly queer staff members made me feel immediately at home and safe.Toni (with pink hair today) met me with a smile in the parking lot. Miah got me settled and brought me a desperately-needed cup of coffee. Jeremy took a thorough history and listened to all of my concerns. Dr. Senthirajah gave me a mini-lecture (the good kind!) about what Jake Jr. was going through.I left having answers and a clear path forward as well as feeling seen and cared for in a way I dont think humans usually experience in veterinary clinics.
Dr. Lassin and his team have gone above and beyond when my dog needed help, even staying late on a Saturday after taking care of all of their out her clients to take my dog into a surgery that could not wait.I have been part of the pet industry for over 20 years now and have never been able to find a vet I can consistently refer my own clients to without there being some doubts in my head. Finding the right vet and vet clinic that are truly looking out for your pet’s best interest is not as easy as you may think. There is no doubt in my mind that their top concern is my dog’s long term health. These guys are on the opposite end of Austin from me but I will always make the drive. They have my business and any clients that I can refer their way as well. I’m so grateful that Dr Lassin moved to the Austin area! Thank you, Dr Lassin, and thank you to your amazing team! ❤️
PAZ gave our beloved dog Tassie the easiest, most respectful passing we could have hoped for. Euthanasia is never easy but even with all of the lockdowns and rules in place we were still treated with dignity and compassion. During her life Tassie received the best care possible from this same vet, they saw her all the way through to the end. I highly recommend these gentle souls to anybody with a furbaby in their life.
The staff and level of care here have blown away any experience I have ever had at a vets office. I took both of my pups here to get established. We were immediately shown to a room and proceeded to spend the following two hours there. This amount of time was NOT due to waiting around, but rather Dr. Julian actually walking me through all of my questions and concerns from diet to bumps. In the end we actually had a bit of a cancer scare regarding a bump on my little guys butt, but the team began the process for removal/testing before we even left the office with an appointment for surgery set just two days later. Aside from their speedy care, they were incredibly gracious as I had a bit of an emotional breakdown over the prospect of my pup having cancer. They were respectful in letting me react but also were not dismissive - assuring me they are here to make this easier when I apologized for crying in their waiting room. Everything from being conscientious and up front regarding expenses to making sure I understood everything discussed was exceptional. We will be customers for life!
Friendly employees & super trendy vet clinic.Above all, the vets and techs are focused on providing exceptional animal care, as well as ensuring the humans understand what’s going on every step of the way. Thanks team Paz for taking such great care of my GSD Lulu and cat Tuskers!!
This is a perfectly nice place for a human to have a cup of coffee, but I was unimpressed with their clinical care. Having recently moved to the area, I took my dog in when she showed signs of a gastrointestinal disturbance. Easy to get an appointment, quite friendly and comfortable. However, the exam rooms are really not outfitted with high quality medical equipment. They do not have raising beds, so my dog was mainly seen on the floor. They are small, so the vet tech actually sat on the floor to do her notes. They use old fashioned rectal thermometers, which are uncomfortable and scary for obvious reasons. More investment in their clinical equipment is needed. Then there is the physician, who I did not find to be particularly thorough but offered three reasonable options for treatment. The symptomatic treatment option was presented as a group of services including subcutaneous fluids, an anti-nauseal and an antibiotic. The physician noted this would come to about $100. Because they lack equipment for even simple procedures like subcutaneous fluids in the exam room, they had to take my dog to a back room alone where she was yelping in pain throughout the procedure (I could hear her from midcentury modern waiting room). My dog came back to me visibly shaken. Of course, when the bill came this turned out to be over $200, not $100, for procedures that I think had reasonable and less painful alternatives such as pedialyte and a simple course of antibiotics. I was hoping to establish PAZ as my local vet in Austin but I will be going elsewhere.UPDATE: The owners note that they keep their exam rooms free of scary medical equipment in order to keep dogs calm. However, this means that all procedures, even simple ones as described above, are conducted in a centralized back room (no doubt full of scary equipment) where owners are not present. Therefore, this establishment assumes that animals are more anxious seeing medical equipment in an exam room, than they are having procedures done without their owner present. In my opinion, this thinking is fundamentally flawed. Personally, I do not believe animals discern greatly between medical equipment and the dreamcatchers currently on the walls of exam rooms. Further, I certainly dont believe having an exam room free of medical equipment is worth the sacrifice of having to treat animals in an isolated back room. With regard to Dr. Senthirajahs work. I took the options he presented me with (blood tests, x rays, and symptomatic treatment) as options, not recommendations. If they were all recommendations, those considering taking their vet to this establishment should plan on paying approximately $600-$800 in fees for a dog presenting with a simple gastrointestinal disturbance. Including ~$150 for x-rays for a blockage when the dog is having diarrhea. I am not a vet, but an x-ray seems excessive when the dog is passing stool. The owners claim that they do veterinary care differently and better, and they may indeed offer a superior experience for owners, but I do not believe they practice the highest quality, compassionate animal care.
Whether we acknowledge it or not, our pets literally become like family members / children to us. So, when it comes to ensuring they are healthy and happy, we want to make sure they have the best medical care available. I have been to a number of veterinarians over the years, but Paz Veterinary provides the best care my pets have experienced, and it isn’t even close.Dr. Vaughn, Dr. Croudep, and the entire team at Paz Veterinary South (from the reception staff, to the vet techs and case coordinators), are not only highly knowledgeable and competent, but also patient, positive, compassionate and transparent. They treat you like an individual and do everything they can to accommodate special requests. And, the state-of-the-art facilities are open, airy, relaxing and impeccably clean.I recently took one of my lady hounds to Paz Veterinary South for a procedure to have a growth / lipoma removed. Dr. Croudep and Dr. Vaughan took the time to walk me through every step of the procedure and made sure that all of my technical questions were answered. Dr. Croudep also provided me with a fully-transparent, line item cost estimate and answered all of my questions regarding cost. He also reached out over the course of the day to give me an update as to how the procedure was progressing, and gave me detailed follow-up instructions when I went in to pick her up. Then, Dr. Croudep and Dr. Vaughn each reached out at different times over the ensuing couple of days to check on my doggy’s progress. On previous visits, I have noticed both Dr. Vaughan and Dr. Julien providing consultations to the owners of extremely nervous pets right there in the receiving area. These are individuals who love and treat your animals as if they were their own, and want to ensure the lowest stress vet experience possible.Highly recommended!
Love Dr. Lassin’s commitment to a holistic and natural approach to healing. He’s also compassionate, very efficient, and informative without being too chatty. He doesn’t try to up-sell me on unnecessary treatments or products and always gives me alternatives to consider when it comes to my fur babies. He’s the best!
Paz Vet is the best of the best. They are so loving in their care, both staff and The Doc’s. My Nathan (The Love Ambassador - self-proclaimed) misses Dr Isaac, his bff, however he also has a king size crush on the vet who saw him today, Dr Webb (Nathan says “She’s a babe and smart, too!” At PAZ they care equally about their furry patients as well as the humans who care for them. PAZ = Pawsitivity❤️🐶🐾
I love how they call and check in on my babies after an appointment. I also like how they know one of my dogs is other dog reactive, so they put us in a room right as we walk in. I always get so stressed about having him around other dogs and they are so helpful to keep him away from other dogs. I’ve never been to a vet before that’s helped me with this.
PAZ is simply the best veterinary practice in existence. Their team of doctors, technicians, and office staff are true professionals. They are thorough and friendly and have the ability to think outside the box. Most importantly, they treat your animals how you want them to be treated. We are extremely grateful to have a veterinary practice that loves our animals as much as we do. Thank you PAZ team!
My wife and I cannot begin to express our love and gratitude for Paz Vet. We started with them a little over two years ago when they were still operating under the name Corner Vet. We have a very rambunctious and accident prone 8 year old Goldendoodle. Our go-to vet is always Dr. Riddick. She has seriously seen him through everything. From GI upsets to broken toes to routine vet care. Dr. Riddick treats Tobey as her own and Im convinced he may love her just a bit more than he does us. I cannot say enough good things about her. She and Tobey have a such a sweet relationship. Shes seriously the kind of vet you hope for in caring for your animals. Our most recent visit was emergent and truly alarming. We were fortunate to have both Dr. Croudep (also amazing; gets extra points for being a fellow Louisvillian ;) and Dr. Riddick working together to help make our boy feel better. While he is still on the mend, it was so great to see him smile and wagging his tail when we arrived to pick him up.We also just added a rescue pup to our brood and took her in for a routine vet check recently. Of course they were just as wonderful with her, as wed expect! You will never find a more attentive, honest, and truly caring bunch of pet lovers than these guys have to offer. Tobey enjoys going to Paz more than he enjoys almost anything else We love them so much that we just stop in periodically to say hello! Couldnt ask for better care for our babies, Tobey and Tilley.Thank you for being a place a refuge for our furry friends. The name Paz embodies all that you offer, PEACE. ❤️❤️🐶🌈
I apologize in advance, this is going to be long. I initially came to Paz with my 2 month old pup for a check up after reading the reviews. I was very impressed with the look of the place. It is indeed cool. I checked in, and in the next 2 minutes I was brought to an exam room. The vet tech, Chris, was friendly, and knowledgeable. When it came to my pups initial exam, Dr. Julian came in and explained everything I needed to know about my dogs breed. He did a thorough exam, Chris explained the importance of monthly heart worm medicine, and gave us a free first dose, stating the next dose it about $10-12/month. He gave our pup some stomach deworming medicine( they do this for all puppies?)and told us to bring in a stool sample next time we came in, and went to the desk to check-out. There was no invoice, they just rang up the price, I paid, and they said they would email the receipt. It was $49 for a doctor exam, and $15 for the deworming medicine. The next appointment was for his 2nd round of vaccines and to turn in a stool sample. My boyfriend went in, the Dr. saw him for about 5 minutes, another deworming med was given, my boyfriend paid, and they told us the receipt will be emailed. What confused me was why did they give us 2 doses of deworming meds BEFORE checking the stool sample? I thought you first check the stool for worms, and if positive, give and charge for the deworming meds? At the time we let it pass and paid. This time: brief consultation $29, DPV vac $36, dewormer $14, stool sample $35, needle waste $4, total $118. We werent excited about the price, however with just one more round of vaccines we decided to stick with Paz. After making an appointment for last set of vacs, my boyfriend took our dog in today. Jordan was the tech, my boyfriend said he was also incredibly knowledgeable, and very friendly. The doctor came in, spoke with my boyfriend for less than 5 minutes, gave the injections, and Jordan recommended for our dog to take a monthly med, Trifexis that is used to prevent heart worms and fleas. My boyfriend paid, and left. I wake up around 12:30 pm (since I work night shift and get home at 8:30am) and ask how the visit went. He said it was good, everyone is ALWAYS very friendly there, and there is never a long wait. We look at the receipt and its $185. My jaw dropped and I was mad, especially at myself because I should have known better. Todays charges: $49 for a consultation(?? We only went in to get his vaccinations), DPV $36, Rabies $32, Bordetella $27, needle waste $4, and the 2in 1 monthly medication was $37... for one months dose. I didnt understand the consult fee of $49. The first time around, I get it, hes thoroughly checking my dogs health on a new visit and being his first check up. Second time was $29, I still kind of understand. But today, when Im only there to get vaccinations, no other concerns, and Im still charged $50 for not even 5 minutes of the doctors time? I called Paz to discuss this and to ask if I can return the medicine, since Chris said would be $10-12 each month after. Not $37. I spoke with Jordan, and he explained the med was a 2 in 1, which was why it was $37. As for the Consult fee, he let me know the docs go to extensive schooling, and they do an exam before giving the vaccinations to make sure the dog is in proper health. Cool. Unfortunately, No where on their website or clinic do they state their prices, including that along with their hefty vaccination fees, they also tag on a $50 doctor fee(Surprise?!). I feel deceived. Why didnt they ever explain this? Instead, they charge you, and you dont see the receipt until you get home in your email. I feel naive, deceived, and upset. They are a knowledgeable vet that is great with animals. If your dog is sick, take them there, Im positive it will get great care, but maybe ask for a quote first. However, if youre just going for vaccinations, take your pup elsewhere if you want to save a few hundred bucks. I care about my dog, but I cant afford these prices. I just wish I knew this before, hence this post.
This is what happened to my puppy Roxy and me at Pazvet. On 3/14/2019, Roxy vomited a couple of times so I took her the Pazvet by the recommendation of my sitter. On the first day, Dr. Barbara checked on her and gave some treatment(Some fluids injected under skin and injection for puppy vomiting). We also did parvo test which showed negative. I was offered two choice, to take her home and monitor her for the day or do an X-ray to have everything completely checked. She was okay at that time, so I decided to take her home and monitor her . She got super tired at the night, I cooked her some chicken and white rice(suggested by the doctor). She didnt eat any of that. And when I took her to potty during the night, I saw a few drop of blood in the urin. So I decided to check back on her in the morning. I also sent an email to the docotor at that night, she suggested I leave her for that time and check back on her in the morning. In the morning of 03/15/2019, when I woke up around 7am and saw there were big mess on the floor comes with strong smell. I couldnt tell whether it was poop or vomit. I knew something wrong. So I decided to take her back to the vet again. I went back to Pazvet again and had her checked by Dr.Barbara again. Docotor explained thier treatment planto me (also brought a bill saying $150 more for diagnosis) and let me know she had to stay at the hospital at the day. I told her not to worry about bills and do whatever she needed to do. We further decided to send Roxy to the emergency hospital at night after that days treatment so someone would keep an eye on her.So I went home and plan to come back to Pazvet to send her to the emergency hospital around 7pm.About one hour later, Dr.Barbara called to update the situation. She told me all the numbers coming out of the diagnosis were okay. Also the parvo test was negative. And Roxys situation seems to be stable. I asked her if thats good news and she confirmed. So I decided to take some rest and go back to the vet late that night for transfer. However, Dr.Barbara called again in about 45 minutes. And told me Roxy is really sick and it is not safe to do any transfer. I asked her whats the cause. She said it could be anything(Parvo, Parasite/foreign body). She asked me to see her until it was too late. So I left for vet right away. Before I reached the vet, another call camed, told me that they had to put her to sleep. I asked if Roxy was in pain. Doctor said yes and I agreed with the decision. After that, I talked with the previous owner and my pet sitter. We tried to figure out whats the real issue. Could it be Roxy was already sick before she came home. However, Parvo and other virus shouldnt take her life this fast(less than 24 hours). Breeder ordered an necropsy and I requested the patient record for Rosy. Results came in on Monday. And showed that there was some clothes inside her. It totally blocked her lumen. However, no X-ray was performed on the second days treatment. Even though a foreign body was considered as a possible cause, but no X-ray was performed. I asked the breeder and the sitter, breeder also consulted their vet. They are all surpised that no X-ray was taken. Especially Roxy had no fever and numbers were okay on the report. A foreign body would be the first thing to think of.There were two visits made to Pazvet. Pazvet gave good care to my puppy. All the techinican were super nice and cared about my puppy. Even treated my hand because I accidentally cut my hand there. And I am sure Dr.Barbara tried her best to treat her. I also understand that unfortunate things can happen, no one can avoid that. But, assuming that any X-ray was taken. we might have avoided this.I have consulted this with autopsy docotor and the breeder. There was big chance that this kind of blockage would have been found on the X-ray. I also talked with Andrew(manager of Pazvet south) who showed great sympathy and offered help to me. I really appreciate it. I just hope this may never happen again.
Dr Vaughan at Paz was the answer to my prayers. When my last vet retired, I went unhappy for 7 years until I found Dr Vaughan. He is intelligent, compassionate, attentive, and uses cutting edge medicine. I love that Dr Vaughan uses both traditional medicine and alternative medicine such as acupuncture, CBD, massage, laser therapy, and herbs (as examples) to keep my pets well. He doesn’t just hand you a prescription for every symptom - he attempts to understand root cause and strives to resolve the symptom starting with the most natural remedy first. For example, probiotic and cranberry powders helped my cats achieve urinary wellness and wean off yucky prescription food. My pets and I love Paz and we look forward to going. My cats actually seem happy to be at the vet! I simply don’t have enough words to say how much I adore Dr Vaughan and Paz clinic. I’m so grateful he is in charge of the health of my beloved fur babies.
What PAZ doesn’t tell you is once you set appointments and make them your new clinic is that you also become part of the PAZ FAMILY.Everyone was so helpful from the start. The checkup was thorough and I had all the time to talk about any issues or concerns I was having with my pup. Thank you Paz. See y’all in a few weeks.
* Mid May we take our 11 y/o boxer, Belgium, to get his throat checked at another vet thats motto is Affordable Vet Care. The Affordable Vet simply told us he was deaf. BUT they urged us to do a Dental Cleaning, and said that if he didnt have his hyper-plasia (gingivitis) removed that it could cause liver or kidney problems. We wanted a second opinion, bc Belgium was 11 y/o and its $1,500..*WE WENT TO PAZ BECAUSE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE BEST.*They ALSO STEERED US TOWARDS DENTAL CLEANING. At no time were we given any inclination that putting an 11 y/o on anesthesia would have any major risk factors.*Paz called the Monday prior and said The Doc had a funeral and asked if they could Fit Us In the next day.**They did give us updates throughout and said he was fine.**They released him to us later that day with meds***The next morning we found Belgium dead***We rushed him back to Paz where they attempted CPR but were unsuccessful***During the entire time waiting NO DOCTOR CAME AND SPOKE WITH US. Just some hipster that gave us free beer... wow gee thanks...***We only communicated with techs who told us quote We arent going to charge you for any of the CPR but CAN WE HAVE A CC for the $250 cremation fee***Not til hours later did anyone contact us to even offer any type of support or sympathy. They finally offered a necropsy.***When I told them that I would have my own necropsy done by an independent 3rd party they seemed stunned.***Apparently in that entire 2 story facility they dont have a refrigerator SO THEY FROZE MY DOG.***Freezing a body basically ruins your chances of really getting any conclusions to the cause of death when doing the necropsy. Bc of tissue change and water molecules expanding and contracting.***Paz did call at the last minute and attempt to offer a 3rd party Necropsy but honestly I couldnt begin to trust that it would be unbiased.***I picked up my frozen Belgium and took him out to Texas A&M. I figured academia would be the most trusted source. After doing my own research I have found the following. All of which is common knowledge in the Veterinarian ProfessionPutting any dog over the age of 8 on anesthesia is risky ESPECIALLY A BOXER bc of their heart.Gum disease IS NOT linked to Kidney and Liver Problems (SALES PITCH)All in all I dont think anyone at Paz intentionally wanted to kill my dog. But it happened. I want you all to be held accountable.I want you to be held accountable for being cold, careless, and unprofessional. I understand that there are social distancing measures in place right now. But YOU COULD HAVE LOOKED ME IN THE EYE. You just let us stand out there crying, and then you had the audacity to take another $250 after we just gave you $1500 less that 24 hours prior. Super rude and just classless if you ask me.MOST OF ALL THOUGHI want you to be HELD ACCOUNTABLE for BEING GREEDY!We came to you because we wanted a top professional opinion and direction on our family member;s health.YOU ALL KNEW the risk factors involved with anesthesia and older dogs.YET NO ONE MENTIONED TO US ONCE THAT IT WAS EVEN SLIGHTLY DANGEROUS.You all acted like it was no big deal. Hence the Fitting us in. If we knew there was any risk we would have done it.YOU ALL JUST WANTED THAT QUICK $1,500 that we were willing to spend. You all should have said, Hey look I know Belgium has some bad gums. But hes old, just brush as much as ya can. But anesthesia is too risky for a dog of his ageI know we are in the middle of a pandemic, times are tough, I understand that things happen, I get that people make mistakes. What I dont get is how someone can knowingly lead someone towards danger not even warn them. Then when things go wrong, offer no type of support and actually ask for money while we are outside of your crying crying as our family is being torn into pieces.I hope anyone that took the time to read this review reconsiders giving this place their time and money. They are selfish, greedy, and unprofessional.
Paz Veterinary - The best of the best! They saved our little Iggies life once when he ate some poison and theyve been looking after Kona our Boykin Spaniel for years with regular check-ups. I cant say enough great things about the entire practice from the front desk, and technicians and on to the doctors. And now even better - a more convenient location in South Austin. Keep it up guys!
BEST vets in Austin! Formerly known as Corner Vet. This location is brand spanking new, and is a joy to visit. Theyre always attentive to all your fur kiddos needs, and really take the time to address your concerns. Fairly priced, really good at sending reminders, and they check up often when the fur kiddos are really sick. They truly go the extra mile here.
I had the most lovely experience at PAZ. Miss.Chea and Dr.Barbara took care of my sweet baby Jasper and really made him feel like he was visiting their home and not a vets office. They were both quick to take a seat on the floor with us and let Jasper climb on them and showed him the same affection right back! Not only did Dr.Barbara do MORE than nessicery to get Jasper all fixed up, but she helped me with pricing and alternative ways to help him out even when it had no direct benifit to her. They were both so understanding, PAITENT, and REAL with us. I appreciate the sincerity and attention to detail everyone here had and really look forward to making PAZ our new go-to vet! I failed to mention how open and inviting the whole office is and how the comfy furniture ans open windows and floor plan really helped Jasper relax and have minimal anxiety in a place that’s usually pretty stressful for our fur babies! Thank you to everyone at PAZ for giving my boy the best cause he deserves nothing less!
We’re new to ATX, and we’re SO happy we have found caring, attentive, and supportive vet services for our dog child at PAZ Vet! Isaac was amazing and followed up with us on the health of our pupper, which showed how serious they are about making sure their patients are happy and healthy. Thank you PAZ - we can’t wait to come back! 😄
The staff here seems to genuinely care about the animals that come in. We discovered symptoms of a UTI in our cat and were really trying to find a solution so that he wouldnt keep peeing on everything. I called around 8am on a Friday and asked about any open appointments- lucky for me they had one open just an hour later! We were taken to a room right away, and less than 5 minutes later someone comes in to start checking him out. We were there for about an hour and a half, but only because they did a handful of tests and gave him antibiotics- super thorough. They were super informative and helpful, and very friendly. And of course after a few days, our little guy was doing a lot better. They even gave a courtesy call after a couple of days to check on him (I missed the call). I really liked the staff at PAZ, and will for sure be going back if anything like this comes up again.
I absolutely adore everyone at Paz. We came to them due to a rather traumatic situation and they have been amazing and caring with our dogs and kind and reassuring to me and my husband. I hate that situation that brought me to them but I’m so grateful to have found this gem of a vet clinic.
If you want options, this is the clinic to go to. They will educate you on all the herbal & medical options as well as a number of devices that can be used to ease your pets pain (boots for hard floors, harnesses..). The clinics decor is very posh too. The pets can sit in the couches!
Wow - the service was first class. One of my Yorkies had surgery in Dallas (tumors removed on the shoulder, elbow and under the eye). The stitches needed to come out, but I was in Austin. I brought my babe to Paz and they spent a TON of time carefully removing them and charged me a nominal fee (even though they didnt do the original surgery). On top of that, while I was there and they were taking amazing care of my kid, there was an emergency that came in - not sure what happened to that dog - but the professionalism of the staff as that nightmare unfolded was impressive. TOP NOTCH CARE - DIDNT OVERCHARGE ME. You guys rock!
First class veterinary practice, friendly staff, spotless facilities, as holistic friendly as regular vet practice can be. (I was recommended to see Dr Lassin for that reason). They will pull titer tests to see what immunity your pet has before deciding on vaccination if that is what you prefer, and the rabies shot they use is the only Thimerisol (mercury) free one on the market (Merial Imrab TF). Of course as is generally the case, you get what you pay for and you will pay a lot here, but not more than other similar practices in Austin as far as I can tell from experience. If cost is your main concern go to Emancipet, or better still, find a good-ol country vet in one of the small towns at least 40 miles south or east of Austin where gentrification has yet to reach, if you dont mind the drive. Knowing how insane the taxes are in Austin, I cannot fault Paz on its prices, its just the cost of doing business in this city.
These guys and gals are in the process of saving my BFs life. We dont have pet insurance or anything, but PAZ had decent fair prices, compared to many places in Austin weve looked at. They care about your animals survival. Its been hard times for us all and they have me confidence that Melon, will make it.Thanks Jerome!!!!❤️
This Is probably the best place to go! I was getting so many negative things happening to me when I was trying to get a sweet kitty looked at because he had a high fever and was not himself. I called here and they had an opening! I was 10 minutes late but they were super nice about that. Dr. Roderick is so amazing and made me less anxious about the entire situation! This is the place I will forever go to for my sweet boys!
Brought my Boxer, Belgium in for a dental cleaning on May 21st. The next day he died at home. When we found him unresponsive we rushed him back to Paz. Me and bf stood outside crying as they tried CPR. The only person that came out was some hipster to give us free beers, and a technician to say sorry. NO DOCTOR PRESENCE TO LOOK US IN THE EYE AND SAY SORRY, NOTHING. Just a phone call asking for even more money for a cremation. Shame on you Paz.Stay away from here. Hold your pets tight. You might take them here and never see them alive again.
Really nice people, but also really expensive. Like the Vets/Drs but it seems like the place is overly expensive. When a trip to the emergency pet clinic is less than or around the same price as a regular visit to the Vet, thats when I consider it to be expensive - and thats the case here.
Don’t waste your time..,,they have zero interest in actually helping you but just want to give pills and not actually take the time to care and find a solution. Over priced and super high turnover!!! Terrible service and I would not recommend.. once Paz took over they are just a corporate money hungry company.

2022-01-15I was blown away by how assertively extra nice these people were in handling my dog (and me as well!). The doctor is professional and cool to talk to. He identified gingivitis in my dog and very softly sold me on a surgical procedure that is clearly in my dog’s best interest.Very glad I chose this place.

2022-07-19I became a customer at PAZ during the last year of my senior dog’s life and have now come full circle with the first year of my new puppy’s life. In both of these experiences, the veterinarians and staff at PAZ have been so great. They are truly special, gentle and caring vets. We can from years and years of care through Banfield. The difference in their temperaments is night and day. They went from whining and shivering at Banfield to wagging tails and licks at PAZ. Always trust your dogs.

2022-06-25Exceptional service and the doc really knows what he’s talking about. He took the extra time to draw out a diagram of something I asked about. Then a lady at the front desk took pictures of me and Truffle by the mural!

2022-04-15Dr. Kiefer was amazing. I honestly owe my dog (Rowan)s life to him. He was so calm and understanding of how much of a pain my dog can be. He was also so understanding of our situation. I cannot thank him enough. PAZ was also just a cool place to take my dog too.Thank you Dr. Kiefer!

2022-07-05Incredible experience. Dr. Kiefer was personable and affectionate with our pup, who was a little uncertain of his first visit to this vet. It was heartwarming to see how much Dr. Kiefer warmed Finn up to the experience and made him feel comfortable and safe. He was professional, super knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable to ask questions. I have recommended Dr. Kiefer and PAZ to all of my new to Austin friends because it is filled with doctors that cares for our pets like they are their own.

2022-02-16Great place it is a very environmental place and the service is friendly i high recommend to go to Paz vet but please do not go to animal hospital i had a very awful experience, i had to bring my old cat for emergency to the hospital because my cat had constipation already for a week besides i waited a hour an half or more i saw people that came after me that had pets that were not so bad which they left before me but i did complain and they wanted me to wait even more hours anyway i left with my cat very unhappy because how they treated my cat alone by herself for a hour and half or more she was scared and depressed. So i went to Pazz but it is not my first time i am a customer for a long time.

2021-12-09Wanted to put a note about how great my experience with PAZ, Dr. Kiefer and Tech Marissa was today!1. The space is super nice. They normally have cold brew for owners and its just a very pleasant office space2. Dr. Kiefer was awesome at not only considering my pets health, but scheduling and my wallet in my dogs treatment. He considered the cost for different procedures and the logistics of when I may need to come in for future appointments. There was zero rush and I felt he took as much time explaining as I needed.3. Tech Marissa was awesome at collecting info and keeping my pup distracted while he had his check up. I was shocked that he voluntarily left with her for some of the work!

2022-04-06If you want to deal with rude receptionist and Vets with out of date technology and training then I would recommend this place.Edit Reponse:You missed the point. When customers pay a premier price, customers should expect a premier service. E.g. a friendly staff and vets with access to modern surgical equipment such as a laparoscopy machine. Fortunately, there are places here in Austin that offer both at a similar price.

2022-05-17This is our go to Vet for our frenchie. They’re friendly and explain everything well. The aesthetic is great and the place is kept up nicely, which is telling of the quality of services!
