I made a mistake of not checking the items before I left the place, they missed a $5 item and when I called them about it, they told me that they will refund me for a $2.5 item in my order instead. I was hoping that it was a mistake, their resolution was insulting and I rejected their refund. Please be careful and check the items before you leave the place. Also dont believe the prices on the menu, $40 items turned out to be $48 when they placed the order.I am disappointed with this place before I could enjoy the food, I am sure now the food will taste bad too.
Food is delicious but tooooo much waiting to get the food on to our table even though there are few customers in restaurant. It took more than 45 mins to get a starter And other 1 hour to get biryani and other 30 mins to get check. Hope you guys will fasten your service. Too slow service with very less staff who’s struggling to serve food as fast as they can.
Pros - open late night. Good ambiance. Nice bar and patio, clean kitchen. They have a weekend breakfast buffet starting at 8am vegetarian only.Cons - unforgivable - serving lamb and calling it goat - then trying to defend themselves by saying lamb is boneless and goat has bones!!! Dosa is like a rag, but the potato masala is good. Tea is ok but not great.Saumia the hostess was very nice - high energy and attentive. But serving lamb and calling it goat is unforgivable.
Food was semi decent and when we ordered our first round it came in a reasonable time, but when we ordered more food we waited 20 minutes to find out they didn’t even tell the chef about our order and we planned to just leave the n we were told that our food was ready in 1 min just to wait another 10. Food was good but would not recommend because of bad service.
Worst experience. Not going back. There was hair in the food. And nothing they did about it. Top of that they overcharged for the kababs. When we told they are saying price changed which was not mentioned on the menu anywhere. After some arguments they refunded extra charged amount.
It’s the most horrible place. No service at all. We had to ask for spoons, water plates. And they took more than 30 mins to bring dosa and medu Vada. I don’t know how will the compete with the restaurants around and the service they give. Here at peacock they lack everything
I read the comments of the people about the food, how can people say bad comments on the food.I went here yesterday with my friend groups and I am lover of butter chicken and we order different type of dishes which was also tasty but I had best butter chicken in Texas.definitely I am coming back here and restaurant is good from inside too
We went for a light dinner to Peacock restaurant yesterday. The ambience, interior decoration and seating is great. Its a nice place to relax and enjoy the food. We ordered Gobi Thalaiva, Rava Dosa and Masala Dosa and Biriyani for take out. The Gobi and Masala dosa came out well and tasty. The Rava dosa was a disaster, it was not well done and we would not eat it at all. We gave the feedback to the server and she took it back and did not charge for the rava dosa. The biryani was spicy and tasty. Feedback: Restaurant looks great, the food options except the rava dosa is spicy and tasty, the outdoor seating will be a great place to eat out during spring / summer. The menu and options available does not match up to the ambience and top class setup (Menu looks like a left over / limited menu from the previous Peacock restaurant setup).
Wonderful ambience..the restaurant is spacious and customers will have family privacy when seated. Food was rich and delicious.. presentation of the food was excellent. Quantity was worth to what we pay for. As we are vegetarian Ordered cheese naan with makhani sauce, paneer chettinadu, paneer tikka kebab and garlic naan. Definitely worth to come back.
Waiting for a long time for this to open up again.Ordered Andhra Chicken Curry and Gongura Goat Curry - Both with Butter Chapati.Spice levels were pretty good - well balanced and just as we had ordered. And they have Taj Indian beer as well 😬Amazing ambiance … for almost any restaurant.Really well done, peacock.
Terrible customer service had me waiting over 15 mins looked at me confused about my order and did not tell me over the phone that the item I ordered was out of stock. they replaced with something else without telling me then refused to refund me for the cost of the missing item.
Peacock has now opened at a new location. Much bigger and much much neater. No longer a small joint. And the best is same great food. Now has a bar too. Limited options thoughOne of my top Indian restaurants in DFW area.Earlier review:Great food, small joint. Did not expect the excellent taste and food quality. Keep it up.5/5/2022: update Quality and taste of food is tanking. They better correct it fast.
I am a regular customer of Peacock restaurant and have been waiting for them to reopen at their new location. Saw they are opening today (11/29/21) and ordered the peacock paneer briyani and it was just panner tikka gravy topped with basmati rice. One of the worst dish I have ever had at Dallas restuarants. Veggie 555 was semi gravy and kadai chicken lacked the taste. If this is the quality of food on a grand opening day, couldnt imagine going on any other regular day.Very much disappointed food from peacock. I am sure the standard has gone down and surely wont recommend anyone here. ITS NOT THE BEST ANYMORE. Please avoid going back.
Ordered Chili Gobi Fried Corn and received plain Fried Corn. When we called they claimed there was nothing they could do & that we should call GrubHub even though GrubHub didn’t do anything wrong. We double checked our order online & it was correct meaning they simply didn’t want to deal with us & were just trying to get us off the phone.
Ordered Chicken Dum Biryani to go through Grubhub, when i opened the biryani it smelled bad and when i checked it was spoilt and pieces were too dry. Called them and they had provided one more chicken biryani which was fresh and good. My question is how come you dont check the quality of the food before delivering to the customer ? Worst experience for trying first time in the restaurant .
All the food here is great and the prices are very reasonable. The curries and biryanis are fantastic. Many of the appetizers are also very tasty. This is a great restaurant to go and enjoy a filling and tasty meal in a relaxed environment. It has the hole-in-a-wall kind of vibe. However, the wait time is absolutely ridiculous. In addition, the restaurant smells like a restroom.
The food here is just marvelous! Ive been ordering Indian food from different restaurants around Irving since Covid, and this is by far the best among all! Excellent staff too, very friendly and understanding! Loved the veg biryani, baby corn manchurian and mirchi bajji that I had just now :) Awesome chef, keep it up!
If you value your time and say no to overpriced food. Stay away!! No bueno!!Me n my friend went for dine in.Took more than 50 mins to get my chicken curry out even though we were only customers. Meanwhile my friend is waiting for his food. The curry had more and bigger pieces of tomatoes than chicken itself. What ?? Could barely find chicken. For a sec though I ordered chicken. They use low quality fat Rice. No Basmati or Jasmine or decent quality for $13.99 order. #smhTook me n my friend 10 mins to devour my order while patiently waiting for my friends biryani. More than hour passed no signs. Not even waiter saying whats going with our order. later waiter says 2 mins . 2 mins turned to be 10 mins. We cancelled order n left .Bad experience!!!
I have experienced many different types of Indian food and I would say hands down this is the most delicious place I have ever been to. The staff is very nice and helpful. The food has such an authentic and home cooked taste. This is definitely my new go to spot for Indian food! 👍🏽👌🏾
The restaurant buffet is great and has a good selection. The a la carte selection also has huge selection, and all the food tastes amazing. I recommend you try peacock!Editing my post …. Went back again and was disappointed that I will not go backBreakfast buffet was almost empty…. Did not get refilled and dosas that were brought were just edible
DO NOT BUY from this place.. my husband just had food today and he got hives all over his body.. not sure what they have used while cooking, it was biryani, we often eat biryani from other place we never had any problem. Not sure chicken was not good or what they have added.
Peacock Indian Cuisine is a hidden gem in the Dallas food scene. The food here is really really good, its clean, not heavy, and the presentation is amazing. Prices are mid range and very reasonable. Its not loud or cramped, so its perfect for a visiting family or a business meeting. The people that work here are gracious and lovely, they make you feel welcome and taken care of and are very polite.Totally impressed with my first time here - highly recommend it!!!
Food tastes good, BUT service is really bad. We had 3 times in recent past when had to wait for 30 minutes for the food. One time, they did not even look at the online order. When we reached there, we were asked to wait because it was yet to be started. They realized about it only when reached to pickup the food. Kids love the food and that is why are going back, otherwise it is not worth to give another chance.
Menu is loaded with great food! I had the lamb korma and my wife had the Peacock Dosa. We loved it and will be coming back to try more dishes or to have our same dishes again. The prices range is $7-13 dollars (super cheap for the taste of the food). Staff is friendly and helpful in picking out food items. Overall 5 stars for us!
Was regular at peacock and their food and customer service was great, but this location though it looks gd but the food and customer service is very bad, even though there are not many ppl at the restaurant, on asking how long will it take to get the food they say it will take time 🤯
Their Biryani, beyond doubt one of the best in Irving area! Usually order to-go food so won’t comment on ambiance and service. The food tastes awesome. Recently tried veg kofta (to go), and it was so delicious, few guests left their non veg to eat more and more of koftas. The serving portion is good.
Best, Gongura Mutton i ever had in USA until now.I never dined in here, so can’t say anything about service. I always order togo from this place. Taste has been so consistent since the beginning. Keep it up Peacock!!!I would definitely suggest this place. This could be a great go-to place on weekends.😀 Def. give it a try if you haven’t been here.
I held a company lunch party of 12 people for 12 pm and made reservations. We arrived around 1145 am and started to place the order to be ahead of the orders for Chef. There were no customers in the restaurant. except us at that moment. We ordered appetizers and lunch. Horrible service, it took between 35-50 mins to bring the food out. Few of my team mates left and i had to cancel my order since it was 70 mins already since i had placed the order. Mis-managed and unorganized and staff did not even apologize for their poor service. Definitely do not recommend anyone to go there with family/friends or coworkers. It was an embarrassing experience.
I absolutely loved the food here. Ordered for my friends wedding anniversary. The list includes Vijayawada chicken biryani, veg555, chicken mandhakini And especially Big shout out to guthivankaya biryani. Food is extremely superlative and delicious. Thanks for the wonderful food.
This place is NOT at all Consistent in their Foods.Earlier I have written good feedback about their food but just yesterday again we had some Non-Veg item and it was really really over spicy. Also in terms of Goat pepper masala they gave us all bones. We were NOT able to eat at ALL and almost having diarrhea.I will NOT GO BACK again and not refer anyone.
The dishes are all fresh, flavorful, and served hot. The Biryani was especially good, with large chunks of chicken throughout. Medium spice is actually medium, and the sauces are each unique. We also tried the chicken curry and aloo gobi, and both were excellent. Good service as well. We will be back for more!
Today was my first visit to this restaurant and it was awful experience. We went to this place by expecting the same food and service from Bay area, but it was not even comparable. We ordered for Goat biryani(spicy) and we got chicken biryani (Microwaved & mild). We do not consider it as Biryani at all. They should improve a lot. All the best. They Should remember first impression is the best impression.
This restaurant had become by favorite over the last 2 months or so. All the biryani were really awesome. Recently, ordered chicken and goat biryani which was very bad. No taste. It looks like they have used the same rice for both and just added meat on top. Not sure what changed but it was the worst biryani I have ever had. Hence reducing the stars and not going back
Very bad service. Poorly organized. Unhiegenic place. Overpriced. Not going here again. I reached 30 mins after my scheduled pick up time they said my order will be ready. They hadnt even started. Many diff staff members asked for my order details again and again until they got my parcel ready after 40 mins of waiting. Order was missing the sides for which I had to go back again and get it fixed. Very disorganized messy place/service/staff for such overpriced food.
Worst food in Irving. We were there for a birthday party and everyones health was upset the next day. What ever food you order you will get same biryani with . None of the biryani tasted good and infact we were able to notice a bit foul smell in chicken lollipop. One good thing is their chicken masakkali and goat biryani was okay. I never recommend this place and also going to complain to health department on them.
We were the first group to arrive for lunch. Im so glad they were playing Bollywood musicals on a loop or we wouldnt have noticed them serving our food an hour after we arrived. The entire lunch crowd was already finishing up by the time our table started to be served. We had to ask the server several times wheres the food? When we did receive responses, the music blaring from their televisions was so loud, nobody could hear his response. The incessant blaring of the 130 decibel level musical being played made me realize how this restaurant got its name because it was so high pitched, one could easily mistake it for a peacock being mangled to death in a wood chipper. I really wanted to like this place but the only way some of us was able to eat was to finally accept taking it in a to-go container. Unfortunately we wont be back.
This place has zero management skills, we went for lunch and suprisingly first one to enter and place the order. It took 40 mins for them to serve appetizers, and another 25-30 mins for the remaining 5 orders. But it was still missing 2 orders. So we ended up cancelling them and left. Long story Short they need to work on how to give better customer service.
We come here regularly on weekday work lunches. Everyone loves what they get; the food always seems fresh and made to order. The staff is very friendly and it’s been a great experience. My only negative is the place is a bit cold in winter due to the large glass windows but that’s what jackets are for.
This place has an amazing food but i think they can do alot better on the tandoor.ordered a few items .one was the tandoori Cornish chicken which was burnt .they told me it is because that it didnt have alot of meat on it.but it is mostly because it was over baked or pre baked then thrown in the tandoori very dry. very nice atmosphere to dine in .comparing to others in the area .the resturant isclean. Some service issues which are minor mostly i think new waiters that do not communicate properly.they forgot to put one of my orders in.i am dying for an Indian resturant that can get all. Clean.good food.goos service.and an awesome atmosphere.they are new so we will see next few month how they will do.
I visit this restaurant mainly for biryani. Today for an order for lunch, they gave me stale food which must be cooked at least a day before.I gave my feedback to the owner. I guess he instructed the staff not to repeat this again. Hoping to have a nice biryani again.
Tried Peacock for the first and last time tonight. I ordered online, which i initially thought was convienient. Food quality was above average, but I believe the portion size was lacking, given the cost. Also, I was not given rice with my carry out order. When I called to check on this, they said since I didnt ask for rice they gave me extra naan. I had already ordered naan with the meal so not sure why they assumed I should get more. Ive never ordered Indian cuisine and not been given rice with my entree. It never occurred to me to even think I needed to ask for rice. Maybe its my ignorance, but I will not be giving them another try.
Visted this horrible place on last Friday with a colleague and honestly never waited for food so long at an Indian joint in the recent past. We sat for almost 40 mins waiting for the food and got cold response from staff when enquired about food. The Staff attitude is really bad and also a big negative and also very arrogant and least empathetic. The ambience was horrible and I felt like I am entering typical mess or kaka hotel in Hyderabad and thus not suitable for some one who wants to visit with family. I am pretty confident that this place is going to be wasted soon if they dont fix the staff attitude towards customers and also food delivery.IF YOU HAVE 2 HOURS of LUNCH TIME and HAVE PATIENCE TO WAIT for AT LEAST 45 MINS to 1 HOUR for THIS GOD SENT FOOD (not sure how it tastes), THEN YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO VISIT THIS PLACE. PERSONALLY I AM GOING TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE as I COMMIT MISTAKE ONLY ONCE and LEARN FROM IT AFTER THE 1st INSTANCE.
I ordered Chicken Dum Biryani, with Small Pieces. The actual biryani was totally different. It was dry. Also, had very big pieces. The price of the biryani on website menu wS $8.99, but they charged me 12$. When I asked the reason, the answer website prices are not right.Taste was ordinary. I wont recommend this restaurant.
UPDATE: they have had their Dosa Machine BROKEN for over 4 months, yet they owner is TOO CHEAP to replace it or fix it. Also, after they changed their menu, THEY RAISED the prices on the Paneer dishes by almost $2 and the quality and quantity was the same if not less._____________________________________________________________Wonderful Food and amazing service. This place is a Gem hidden in a strip mall across from the Valley Ranch Library. If you have never eaten here, go eat at this place. I assure you, you will not be disappointed. My Wife, our Son and our Daughter frequent this place often. We were there this past Saturday evening and again, the food was awesome. We ordered Spinach Pakoras for appetizer and they were crunchy and VERY TASTY. We ordered Plain Dosa, Paneer Butter Masala and Chole Batura for our main meal, and again it was very good in flavor. They also brought the food out in a timely manner, even with a big catering order going out. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner Prasad, very nice and humble guy.Folks, if you are wondering if you should try this place or not, take the chance and try it.We will surely be back soon.
I wish I could have given a half star but Google wont allow you do that..I am a regular customer to Peacock but lately their food taste /quality has gone south ..They cant maintain the top standards what they used to do an year ago.For example, one of my favorite item that I have recently ordered was boneless chicken biryani was dry, super spicy and top of that they had two small pieces of chicken in the box (to go order). So I decided to try one more time and it is the same when questioned they come up with some weird/non sense explanation.. Seriously Peacock restaurant has to get their act together before they are shutdown by their poor/pathetic services..
I really love this restaurant. It is unassuming from the outside, but quite chic on the inside. The food is great- my favorites are the special dosa, and the tawa fish (phenomenal). Dont miss their bakery. We have catered with them as well, and it was phenomenal service and food. We had rave reviews.
Ordered Paneer Makhani and biryani for to-go at irving branch. Rice/roti was not provided with curry. Folks were not even apologetic when called to complain missing item.Paneer makhani was very sweet :( and biryani gets only 2.5 points. Cant compare with california branch!!!
Cost and quantity is comparable to other restaurants in the area but the quality is lacking overall (same base sauce across a bunch of dishes that overpowers any attempt at uniqueness) and very much so when it comes to fried dishes like Chicken 65 - turns up as a bunch of very oily refried batter encasing tiny driblets of meat. Very sad. Id like for them to improve as they are so close by. I end up driving further south on MacArthur to get consistently better food at Swadeshi.
Hands down best Biryani in Dallas. Ive been living in Dallas for almost 12 years now. For a small party I ordered family size paneer biryani and 20 samosas yesterday. It was tasty and authentic, everyone was praising it. You wont believe the quality of the Chutney Samosa and everything so so good. Far far better than Hotbreads, bawarchi, paradise and patels.
Went to this place last Friday (07/01/2016) and ordered for a Mutton Thali and almost waited for 35 mins and still there are no signs of delivering the food and left with empty stomach to a Chinese place near 635. The horrible thing is that the staff (seems that they are employing those university students inside the kitchen and also at the counter) are really rude and their attitude towards INDIAN Customers is really bad. NOT sure why these stupid people run behind some customers who visit their restaurant once in 6 months and dont care about some one (Indian customers) who are providing bread and butter by supporting their business. Personally I feel that these people should be taught a lesson by avoiding these places. The same day, met some other friend and incidentally he had the same issue at this place and they also left without eating anything.PERSONAL and SINCERE SUGGESTION IS AVOID THIS PLACE and GO EAT at SOME OTHER PLACE where YOUR TIME is VALUED and YOU GET SOME RESPECT.
All Vegetarian people - please do not go to this place to eat. They do not care about veg, non-veg thing. They keep the same fryer to fry any non-veg item and also fry veg item in the same oil (typical mentality to save on oil!!) When you ask any this kind related question - they get frustrate and behave rudely. Also other food is also not good - like Manchurian - they do not make it as they suppose to. Not a good experience. Try out some other places in this area for Indian - chinese food like Bombay Chopati, Saravanna Bhavan, Our Place Indian Cuisine.
The restaurant is better suited for non-veg. Vegetarian items are worthless. Service was very bad. A long wait time to get a place, though half of them were empty. Then the time to take and order was another 15 mins. Staff just keep rotating between the cash counter, taking orders and cleaning the tables.
Ordered same variety as I have taken in past but for last couple of times I have seen quality have come down and when we ordered for chicken variety we saw tiny/small pieces of chicken (unlike what it was supposed to be) along with unexpected visitor of potato pieces.
The food is good... sometimes great even... but their service could use more work. Usually they are slow taking out food orders and taking care of basic costumers. I see 5 tables occupied but they do not even have drinking water. I waited 1 hour for 1 dosa togo since i ordered over the phone. I wouldnt come back if it wasnt so close to my home.
Highly disappointed with the food ,Chicken biriyani was damn blend in taste okay in quantity but very cool while serving and we ordered batura it was half cooked dough was not even fermented ...very rubbery couldnt even eat .prawn 65 more fried onions than prawns....Very poor service ...we have waited for more than 20 minutes for the food to be served and more than 15 minutes just for checkout...
Nice and good biryani place the Irving locations doesnt have a restaurant ambience but food is damm good for the price you pay and in no case its a fancy restaurant but more of like mess you find back in India but dont let it fool you because food is way better than some Indian restaurants you find in Irving
I used to be a regular.. atleast 3- 4times a week I take home food from peacock.. had worst chicken masakali on 31st dec order at night.. I had to just throw it after taking a bite.. disappointed.. my next visit I tell them about the food the staff doesnt even acknowledge with a sorry.. was only concerned on whether I was paying cash or with card for current order.. no matter how good you are.. attitude towards your customer matters.. had it been a American restaurant i bet the experience would have been different.. I guess this would be my last visit ..
One of the Worst Catering food i ever ate in U.S , you name any dish they disappointed ( of course they didnt spoil papads /Raitha . A lot to improve looks like they are more more money oriented than service . For a party of 50 people the fact that they told 9 serving spoons are sufficient proves their saving attitude on the cost of customer pain

2021-12-20Food was okay and didn’t find anything it to be great.Ordered Paneer and Gobi Thalaiva Biryani. Both these dishes had the same base including the rice, all we understood is they differed by paneer and Gobi lol. Malai Kofta was great, with the right spice and sweetness:).It took them really long time to attend to us, gets us seated and take our order.I’m not sure if we might come back though and would recommend this.

2022-03-06We like Indian cuisine and have often eaten in the many Indian restaurants in Valley Ranch. As Peacock is closer to home, we decided to try it. Big mistake! We arrived at 8:00 PM and were impressed with the decor. The restaurant seemed to be busy and most of the tables were occupied. We were promptly seated and thats when the fun began. We placed our order and waited for something to happen. The server brought plates and silverware but nothing else. After about 15 minutes, we asked for some water and she brought us bottles of water. After another 45 minutes, we were still waiting for food...any food...even a couple of pieces of naan. The server was apologetic and suggested our food would be ready in five minutes. At 9:20 we decided that we had waited far too long and left without as much as a bite of food.It appeared that the servers were understaffed and were trying their best. The kitchen was clearly unable to fill orders in a timely manner. In all likelihood, the kitchen was understaffed, incompetent, or both. As for the quality of the food, we have no idea.In my opinion, the ownership and management of Peacock deserve to get the Bird!

2022-04-18We doubt!! This isnt the old Peacock ( that used to be near Bombay Salon ), sorry but food is terrible (specially Biryanis taste like a mix of all left over), Apologies for sharing the honest feedback!! This is our personal experience!! Good side is we were impressed with the decor and the ambience. Thank you.

2022-07-04Wide varieties of Indian breakfast options. Most of them are tasty. They are delicious. It’s a good option for weekend brunch. Serving team is very good. They are attentive and always there to help us. Option to put on high calories.

2022-06-16I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. The food was served hot, and the abundant use of spices made this dish flavorful and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend checking this place out for Indian food. It is especially great to check out if you want to eat Indian food in an elegant and classy atmosphere. There is also a nice patio with outdoor seating, and the ambiance and interior design is beautifully put together.

2022-08-15I dont think the new manager and receptionist know about customer service. I am a long time customer(20+ orders). Today, I placed an online order and went there for pickup they said they need id or physical credit card in order to give the food. I showed them the name on the order, square order#, email, phone number and still coudnt get the food. Even I showed them my card number from the phone. Waited for 10 minutes while the food is seating, becoming cold and couldnt get it and had to leave the place. Later when I called for refund the receptionist says we didnt recieve the payment. How illogical and dishonest can you be? The manager seems he didnt go to school.I give the place 2.5 stars because it was a good place before. I will never come back again or recommend it to anyone.

2022-05-07Very slow and unpleasant service. I had a To-Go order from this restaurant, I went in to pick up the food after half an hour of placing the order at 9.39 PM. I was greeted immediately by a lady but they said that my food is almost ready and will be out in 5 minutes. I waited patiently. Then after about 12 minutes at 9.51 PM, another guy who had his specs on and looked like maybe the manager, came in ask whats the order in the name of? I replied and he said it would come out in 5 minutes. As I am writing this, its been more than 21 minutes already and I still havent recieved my food yet. Would never order from here. Very bad experience.

2022-04-15This is hands down the best Indian food me and my husband have ever had!!!! The chicken tikka masala is to die for! The bone in chicken biryani was phenomenal and the chicken is so tender and falls right off the bone! Staff is respectful and so kind! Great experience!

2022-07-24Real south indian restaurant.. only drawback is the chef is using excessive oil/ghee in fry biryanis etc.. and the rotis are definitely frozen and bad taste..please also keep the customers health in mind. Other than that food is exceptional..
