I found this place a few months ago, I wont lie We were super nervous because we had a Chihuahua and we didnt know if we will find the correct person and we found her here!The best grooming for our Mix bichon /poodle and our nervous Chihuahua! We will miss you Kamri!! Thanks a lot for everything 😊❤
The employees here are the most amazing people i have ever met. They truly care about their job and what they do as well as the people and animals that come through. Dev(for short because ill spell her name wrong) is the most heartwarming human being Ive ever met. Shes helped me personally with countless questions and animals, because i rescue animals when im able to, for the last 3 years. I highly recommend coming here if you ever have any questions or need help with animals at all. Thank you to every single worker that has helped me at this location.
I didnt buy anything on this trip. I accompanied a friend who was shopping. I just browsed but that day they had cat trees on special. There were several I thought my cats would like so I will probably pop back in and pick one up when I can. I like PetsMart because the stores are always clean and well organized and they have a wide variety of each type of item to fit any budget and most pet needs. They had moved the grooming area to the back of the store. It was clean, orderly and well lighted. It looked like a place pets would like to go. A man was picking up his dog and walked past me. The dog looked so happy and proud of his handsome self! Good job PetsMart!
So sad! I have used PetSmart grooming for years and used to have Wonderful customer service. I made an appointment 2 weeks ago for last week and they called 2 days before and said my groomer would not be there could they reschedule and since it is so hot and my dog really needs a shave I said yes, so they rescheduled for Monday. Today (Saturday) they called again and said my groomer had an emergency and had to go out of town could they reschedule? I can understand once but not twice in two weeks. I will go somewhere else.
I am not a pet owner. My adult son just got a puppy and I wanted to get a few things for his new puppy but I don’t have the knowledge or experience of what to get or choosing between options.So I explained my situation and background to PetSmart associate, Andrea, and she took the time to stop what she was doing (unpacking product to set it out) and walked over to 2 different aisles with me and offered me excellent suggestions, advise and the reasoning behind her recommendations. She asked me questions to help her advise me and she answered all of my questions. Andrea did not rush through helping me. She came across as genuinely caring about my situation and pet related needs. I felt comfortable with what I purchased because of Andrea. Additionally, the cashier who checked me out was also very customer service oriented.I anticipate that I will be a repeat customer of PetSmart (in Abilene, TX and other locations).Andrea is a valuable asset to PetSmart!Sincerely,E.M.
We had a few training sessions with Justin in the PetSmart Training Center. He was fantastic! Our 3.5 month old puppy, Lulu, had a few mouthing and behavioral issues that we were hoping to address. Justin connected with Lulu in a way that we hadnt been able to before. During just a few training sessions, Justin was able to start to teach Lulu how to leash train, inhibit her bite, come when called, and play dead on command! As we watched him train Lulu, we learned a lot about what to expect from her, and how to communicate with her to reward her good behaviors. Lulu loved going to see Justin during our short time in Abilene, and we are so happy that Lulu was able to meet Justin! Without a doubt, a great investment in Lulus future. Thank you, Justin!
Clean store with plenty of stocked items. We took our rescue there the other day and met Alyse, who runs training. She was so wonderful with him and we cant wait to start obedience training with her. All employees were also properly wearing masks, which was a plus. Amazing store!
I personally have no idea what happened. I took my pup in and when I got there to get him he was trying to run out the door and he normally had the best manners. Then when I took him home he was suddenly scared of Fly Swatters now. He was not before and every time we just touch one to pick it up he ran and hid. Thank you Ashlee G, I will not take my pup back.
I love going in here. They always have what I need and Im always in and out fast. They have pretty good deals on cat food and always have specials on the soft food I use. Cashier are always friendly. Join their rewards program for some coupons on your receipt and to save more!
Made an appointment for my dog to be groomed on a Monday they said bring him in Wednesday at 10:00 I got there Wednesday morning from Blackwell Texas and they told me my appointment wasnt for another 2 weeks. Very very disappointed in the service I feel like they should have tried to work my dog in its not like I came from Abilene to them I came from blackwall Texas all the way to Abilene Texas to spend money at their business. Went around the corner to Petco they heard my story got my dog in that day I was going to have to cancel an appointment that I had that morning because PetSmart didnt get my dog in like they said they would I couldnt leave my dog in the truck for 4 hours in the Sun so Petco got me in did a wonderful job and for much cheaper than what PetSmart was going to charge I will not shop at PetSmart ever again. Petco here I come
This is an absolutely horrible place where their employees definitely do not care. We have tried 3 times to get our dog groomed. And this last times. Today we had an appointment at 12:30 we spoke to them yesterday about the appointment. Show up today for appointment no phone call or anything they closed for cleaning. Horroble customer service. Horrible pet service. Anyone and everyone should find somewhere better.
The staff was great. Becky went above and beyond to help my son get his bearded dragon. We called several times to make sure they had one before we made the trip. We were told they could not hold one for us and it would be first come first serve. We called when we were 30 minutes out and Becky was awesome enough to make sure nobody bought the last one. Thank you again.
Although that smart has more of a variety for my pets needs , however the service and the employees Lack Customer service. They have been rude every time I have visited this store. They will look right at you and not offer to help you until you get their attention . I always feel like it is a burden when I ask for help I received nothing but attitude from the employees no one is smiling doesnt seem like they injoy their job I am very disappointed in petsmart employees and service.
I placed my order online for the Purina One Sensitive dry dog food and a box of Fortiflora. Its hard to find the Purina One Sensitive in alot of the stores & Fortiflora is almost impossible to find except at PetSmart. With placing my order online, I know they are putting these 2 very important things my Furbabies are needing on hold. And with Curbside pickup, it just so easy. PetSmart lets you know when you order is ready, you drive up there & park in the designated place, push the Im here button on my phone & an associate brings my purchase right out to my car. Just love it!!! I highly recommend using this service to everyone! 😊😊
I love this PetSmart store. The staff always greet me when I come in and they have products stocked at all times. As for the pet selections they have they always seem to have empty rooms but of course people are adopting them. So thats understandable. But this is a very good PetSmart. I recommend it highly.
Rolled in there with all of 10 mins to spare to buy everything to make my daughters dream come true. Staff was beyond helpful, she gave me great advice and knew exactly what to do!! Whoa!! Amazing!! There are still places that have great customer service that will go beyond the basic need.
This has nothing against the employees, they are always really nice and helpful. But they need to learn to shut down their fish tank area anytime the fish has had an outbreak of ich. We bought a fish here once and didn’t notice it was sick, as we were in a hurry to get home. We put it in our tank and the sick fish wiped out our entire 100 gallon tank. We had expensive fish in our tank, even a fish we had for 2 years. It was very sad. Ich is very easy to see its white dots on the fish. We understand it happens, because this sickness spreads really fast. But do not sell your sick fish!! We came back every weekend after that for about 3/4 weeks, and nothing had changed. Haven’t visited sense. We just warned the customers every time we went in.
I came in to the grooming salon to get a nail trim on my puppy, I called earlier that day and they said they required proof of rabies so I was sure to bring my paperwork with me... When i got there the lady at the front was not wearing a mask and was sitting on her phone ignoring me. She was extremely unprofessional and said that it would be a bit before someone could get to my dog. I believe her name was Jesse. I walked around the store for a bit and when i came back in the same lady was yelling and cussing at a dog that she was working on... i figured at this point I should just leave and try somewhere else.
I worked withMari, Wendy, Carson , Geishaand Dev.I have an 11 year old daughter and and 8 year old son. During this crisis I wanted to do something special for the kids. I didnt want them to look back on this time in their lives and say That was so scary or I was bored and sad. So, I decided to start with a small aquarium. Then decided to upgrade to a 20 gallon tank. And for over a year my daughter has wanted a beardie. And we had bought the tank last summer. But, felt she wasnt ready for the responsibility. So, we had been thinking we would get her one for her Birthday (April 25th). However, when I came into the store a few weeks ago. You guys were all out and didnt know when you would be getting more. And I thought oh no not another disappointment for her on her birthday. So, I have been in and out of the store probably 5 times throughout all of this. And I came in late Saturday evening and to my surprise there were 3 bearded dragons. I was so excited for my daughter. So, I picked out one for her and have been buying all kinds of things to get started. And from the beginning through today. I have spent soooo much time there. And the staff was WONDERFUL (5 Star). I had no idea what I needed and which things were best. I asked question after question and no one ever made me feel like I was bothering them. In fact they would ask if I had any questions. So, thank you all and I just want you all to know WHAT YOU DO may MEAN MORE to your CUSTOMERS than YOU even KNOW! It definitely did for our family. 😍Thank you!Brandi
The employees are always friendly and knowledgeable. They suggest quality products and services for your pets based on your pets need not a brand or promotion. They are always excellent with their service and they understand your pet isnt just a pet but a family member.
We always love going to petsmart. My daughter adores playing with the adoptable cats and seeing all of the exotic creatures. We bought a chinchilla from here during Christmas time and have had zero problems. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and make it a pleasure going in. They were having a dog adoption event when we went last, I love the support they provide the community.
The customer service was awesome. I ordered something online, I had called about my order and was told they were out of stock. Later I receive some calls from the store, call back and turns out they found what I had ordered. The guy that helped me didnt have to go above and beyond but he did. Because of that I will continue to shop here for my pet needs.
They always did a terrible job on my dogs nails. The last time I was in the store the woman working the cash register was extremely rude. She made such a negative impact that I left think Im so glad they opened a Petco around the corner and I dont have to come back to this place. Im a regular at Petco now and they do my dogs nails perfect every time!
Desiree was a huge help today.My daughter wanted a hamster and couldnt decide which one she wanted, so she let her hold them until she decided. She also held a rat... Much to my surprise he was calmer than I thought he would be.She finally picked one, a dwarf hamster.Everyone was very curtiois and had smiles on their faces.I was 1000% satisfied today.
Ive been going there off and on for years, and last time (maybe time before last) that I went in there, I was standing in line to checkout. Nicole Carrol, really big chick, that is an employee there and has been for years, had her register light on, then as I get closer in line to checking out, she turns her register light off and just stands there talking, then while Im checking out, turns her light back on and helps customers that were behind me. The employees there are super rude and disrespectful. PetSmart needs all new employees. No wonder they only have a 3.8 rating and they had to bring a PetCo to Abilene.
Jessie has been my dogs groomer since forever she is an absolute dog whisperer and a very patient groomer . I do have a difficult dog to groom and there have been times Jessie has just had to do her best but she always stand by her work and will get it right even if you have to bring the dog back the next day to give the do g a breather. I have even moved towns tried other groomers that cant get it done and when I call her she is always willing to fix it . Shes come in early to accommodate my being from out of town and stayed late . She is my PetSmart face of excellence . She will love your animal as if it is hers . Ask for Jessie at Abilene PetSmart she will not disappoint you. Went in to take a look at some of their fish. I usually dont buy fish from them, mostly because I dont think theyre taken care of that well, and the staff know next to nothing about proper fish husbandry. Today I took a chance anyways, and went in looking for black kuhli loaches.First off, the service was eh. I waited for over 20 minutes before being acknowledged. People who got there after me were helped before I was, until someone pointed out I had been waiting longer than they had. Im a very patient person so I let it slide.What happened next had me very upset. The employee who was helping me with the loaches tried scooping them with a net, and after a few unsuccessful tries, started using her hands!!!! It was disgusting, and its very bad for fish to touch them (it messes with their important slime coat). She got one fish in the container, and the second one she actually dropped onto the floor. She dropped the fish on the floor!!! She spent the next few /minutes/ trying to pick him back up, and when she finally did, she put him in the container like nothing was wrong, and handed me the bag. I told her I wasnt comfortable buying a fish she had just dropped onto the floor but she said just bring it back if it dies and I could get a refund. Ive never seen someone treat an animal like that right in front of my face. How dare you let your employees treat the fish like that. I will never shop at PetSmart again.
They are very friendly, but they do NOT take care of their fish. Their fish all look horrible. Most of the bettas have fin rot and a bunch are dead. Most of the tanks on the walls are filthy as well as the betta cups. A lot of the fish on the walls are dead as well. The employees dont do their jobs and take care of the fish properly. I would encourage you to not buy your fish from here.
If youre looking for a certain type of food for your doggy then this is the place to go. We are limited in Abilene but Petsmart has just about everything. We have a large gluten free soy free husky and hes hard to buy food for. The staff is also very knowledgeable and good with pets (they were able to calm our giant friend down enough to clip his nails). However, items in this store can be a few times more expensive than at a Wal-Mart or Amazon.
Went to go get a tank mate for my gold fish. I could not find a single employee. When I finally found one, instead of doing their job, they told someone, that they admitted was new, to do it and learn how. She then proceeded to DROP my fish I had picked onto the ground from a good three feet up. When I had asked to get another fish instead, incase that fish died, I was argued with about the fact shed took the time to get the fish and that it was fine. I ended up leaving, terrible customer service.
Received horrible customer service..went to purchase food for my 10 year-old dog with a chicken allergy. She will only eat Castor and Pollux wet food. There was not much on the shelf had to find employees in corner of the store 4-5 of them chatting and asked if they had any in the back..was told probably not. I then had to ask them to please look..2 of them reluctantly went in the back and came out with one case saying that was all they had. Mind youthey charge $3.50 a can for this stuff..I would expect a much higher level of customer service! Will never shop there again. Now buying what I need online for a dollar less a can.
I wish there was a 0 starts button. my brother got a cockatiel bird from here and they gave us a SICK BIRD didn’t even last about a month!!!!! we had a horrible experience and a very sad death with the bird. and the workers are not friendly at all. never coming here or getting pets from here AGAIN
PetSmart groomers have obviously became too successful. When I first started taking my dogs to be groomed, they used to come out with pretty bows on their ears, now the price has gone up, you cannot get an appointment until a week after calling and NO bows anymore!!!! We pay too much for two small dogs, a maltese and a poodle/terrier to not even get a complimentary bow! Time to find better service for the price:-(
Went in today asked fpr help twice at the furry pets area and no one came after 25 mins of waiting. I saw 2 employees just walking around as well. My kids were totally upset. Whats more another vendor that was in the store from blue products had them page someone as well aand they never came.
Busy, and I just never know if product is really good, dog very allergen sensitive and its very frustrating, even after talking with folks that work there, they kind a d helpful, yet really not sure regarding products. Didnt have what I went to get, found it at Petco
Went to pick my dog up from being groomed.There were 3 groomers standing back there and not 1 offered to help me.Just stood there.Finally 1 asked me if she could help me .I told her I was there to pick up my dog.About that time another employee walked up and she asked him if he could go get my dog and he informed her that he was going to lunch.I had to leave and come back because they wouldnt wait on me.Worst customer service staff I have ever seen.They are rude,unprofessioal , incompetent, lazy.I will never go back
I adopted two female kittens from Petsmart in Abilene 10 years ago. They were from the same litter and to this day remain part of our lives and best buddies. I wanted to write a review because they are having their 10th birthday on the 4th of July and we couldnt be more please that they are in our family! We are a military couple with three children and have moved all around the country..still our sweet kitties are going strong! Thank you, Petsmart for the adoption of these beautiful cats that my children have grown up with..
Bought a bird and accessories for it lady didnt have knowledge on how to catch a bird stressed the poor thing to death been a week its still scared I live alone so it should be ok by now not a lot of help or knowledge and cashier was rude cause I couldnt remember my cards phone number but said cards not valid anymore ????

2022-06-18The store was so nice and clean. We originally went in for flea chews and dog toys, but they were out of the chews we needed. The cashier was great and even told me about an alternative method we could use that also works to ease inflammation on our dogs skin since she is white. This store is an hour away from our house, but it is so worth the trip.

2022-05-19We love pet smart! My youngest loves to look at all the live animals. They had a good assortment of food pouches for senior cars. I found an interesting frozen treat for my dog and he loved it.

2022-05-15The fish we bought came with a disease called Black Spot that killed them off within days, we were only able to save one. We do frequent water changes, and make sure they get fed the normal amounts. We also change out our filter. We also make sure to let the fish adjust to the tank temp before actually letting them in. We are doing anything we can to make sure the fish are good, but most just kept dying off. Everything else is fine, but the fish is just 😬

2022-03-23Has good deals on stuff mainly for treats members. I really wish they would improve their fish care and it would be cool if they gave costumers care sheets for the animal theyre purchasing rather then just having them available on hidden corners not near the pets.

2022-06-20PetSmart is like taking a trip to the zoo. It has small animals, fish, birds, and occassionally adoptable dogs and cats. They even carry dog clothes and other cute items making my visit fun for all. The groomers are well educated and take great care of my two yorkie mixes.

Ive been to all the pet stores so often recently with being a Fish owner, Doggie, and Cat owner and she has been By Far The Best Employee!!! 2021-10-31We get our Dachshunds (Tyrion) nails cut here. No appointment is needed, just walk-in. We find it so difficult to cut his nails as his legs are so short and he wont hold still for us. The staff at PetSmart do a fantastic job.

2021-11-29Clean location. This visit was probably the best visit I have had here. There was one of the associates walking by and she made a point to stop and talk with me. She was very friendly. I was able to ask her lots of questions. She was great. The cashier was fast and efficient so I didnt have a long wait. The store is usually very clean. There is rarely more than one cashier so the lines can get super long and slow but this time was the opposite. Great experience this time around.
