Great food and lots of menu items to choose from. There was a little wait being a holiday. So we were say at the bar. Our waiter did an excellent job. He was tipped well because though if was busy he was very attentive. Atmosphere was nice too.

I’m going to be honest, who the in their right mind tries a Mexican spot in Texas lol. Food was okay. I was really just there to pass time at the bar. The Micheladas were GREAT so great that I had a dream about the bartender that night… if that doesn’t tell you something idk what will.

This place was great. My wife and I had The Trio Fajitas and it was down and gone before we reallize. So I took the pictures of what it looks like after the fiesta was over. This is a definite place to eat if you are in Amarillo.
We were seated right away. The menu was exceptional as well as the food. The portions were large and brought hot to the table. My husband had the stacked enchiladas and I had a half order of combination nachos. So be careful and enjoy!
Enjoyed eating with my family.and didnt hear anyone using cuss words or being too loud.we. Really enjoyed a nice quiet time.
Menu changes the last couple of years with lots of favorites no longer served. Met a friend for dinner a few weeks ago and a large table of people with unattended kids screaming and playing around the other table made it hard to have a conversation at our table.
Awesome food and environment was comforting. Dont remember the waiters name but he was trying too hard...he just needed to relax
We met some family in Amarillo and oddly enough, this time Mrs. Flip Out and I ordered the same thing. We both tried the Chef’s Combo that had a Chile Relleno and an enchilada. I chose ground beef for both and a jalapeño cream sauce for the enchilada. Mrs. Flip Out had ground beef for the Chile relleno and chicken with a sour cream sauce for the enchilada. I really liked it; I had never had a fried Chile relleno before and it was delicious with the queso. The enchilada with creamy jalapeño sauce was an excellent combination and it was so delicious. I really liked it. Mrs. Flip Out really enjoyed her entree as well; everything had great flavor. We both ordered Charro beans, that had great flavor. Mrs. Flip Out liked the side of veggies. The waitress brought out 2 spicier salsas than the one that comes with the set up. The red salsa was spicier than the green one, but both were delicious. Mrs. Flip Out had a sopapilla and she said it was light and fluffy. If you’re in Amarillo, you’ll enjoy the Plaza.
Such an awesome place to eat, Saturday night at 7 and got us right in. Probably doesnt happen every time but was really great. The food is amazing, were from Midland/Odessa and there isnt even a restaurant to compare this to! Mckayla was our waitress and she was great! Couldnt have asked for a better dinner. Thank you!

Its been a very long time since I have eaten here but I think the menu and quality of food has improved tremendously! I had the pork carnitas taco plate and it was so yummy!

I might be a little biased because I prefer authentic Mexican but If you like Tex-Mex then you will probably enjoy this. For this type of food I do prefer Abuelos. They have a nice bar in the restaurant.
The plaza is such a good place to eat. The food is always fresh and flavored great. I had my mind made up to order a quesadilla but I almost changed it for the salad pictured on the menu. Next time I am getting that.
Food was okay but really lacked the flavors that I would expect from an authentic Mexican food place. Mild was the spiciest taste on the plate. I guess if you like bland food this would meet your needs.
We come here every time we pass through town Cynthia was hands down AMAZING IN HER CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE MANAGER SONYA CAME BY to check on us and was VERY NICE AS WELL!!!! Good was very good and BIG PORTION SIZE. FAJITAS GREAT TACO salad good & cheeseburger is huge!!!!
I imagine this location is always busy. Line was out the door Friday night. Chips came out warm-my favorite! We were offered additional salsa. Wonderful customer service and they kitchen loves to get the food out quick & hot!! Our Midwest taste buds found the seasoning to be quite mild but a flavorful blend. At our table was Chicken and Carnitas enchiladas along with Shrimp Bruschetta. Both entrees were delicious!
It was okay but they need a better variety of options for salad dressing. Who doesnt have oil and vinegar in the kitchen? The raspberry vinaigrette may as well have been ketchup. Also, asada is not a topping. Their concept of asada at this restaurant is a ribeye (not a skirt steak) with asada topping whatever that means. I didnt try it, but I guess this is to be expected from a Tex Mex restaurant in a city that cant pronounce its own name properly. Possibly unfair for me to compare it to the Jalisco style kitchens in San Antonio. If you like Chilis or TGI Fridays youll probably like The Plaza. Clean place. Friendly staff.

All six of us ordered different meals.... and all six of us were very happy. I had the fish tacos.... and I think you should have them too! The Plaza Rocks :)
Pardon the photo quality*Had the most wonderful experience here! Took my mother out for a lunch before wife and I had to leave town! Our waitress Makayla (sp?) Delivered some of the best service weve received anywhere! She was super sweet and helpful and even suggested some amazing desserts and drinks to us.The food was absolutely delicious, wife had the stuffed avocado which was delightful very flavorful and stuffed full with meat!My mother had the chimi and she loved every bit of it! I had the plaza special and was some of the best enchilada and Chile relleno Ive ever had.The star of the show however was the desserts, we had chocolate and regular trea leches cake both of which were dynamite! But the Mexican style cheesecake was absolutely to die for!!! Ill order it Everytime I visit from now on. Do yourself a favor and eat at this amazing restaurant!Stuffed avacado and Mexican cheesecake! Youll thank me later!
Newer Tex-Mex place. Nice decor, well executed, standard Tex-Mex fair with a few unique offerings. I had a double order of stuffed avocados so I could try the chicken and the beef (I recommend the chicken). The coffee was a lot better than expected. Friendly and attentive servers.

When here for lunch and was seated quickly. Ordered the new taco special and it was amazing! It was honey sriracha grilled chicken with mango salsa, cilantro, and Cheyenne mayo. Absolutely delicious!!!
Went today after noon, they said an hour wait. They never called so we left. And it’s now 7 pm and they still haven’t called my phone or texted to say our table is ready.
Plaza used to be one of my favorite restaurants. But the past year the food quality is not good. Wait staff rush you and give you very little time to eat any chips and salsa before they bring your food. The food taste like it was made the night before and reheated. For the price the food it should taste like it was freshly made.
Enchiladas were great. I love this Mexican restaurant. Only get to go once a year on our way to Arizona. Large menu, great drinks, reasonable prices, and nice service.

Great choice for my sisters 60th birthday party . They were crowded , even at 4pm- which is a good sign. They gave us great attention , singing to her and making a big deal out of everything . The food was delicious , and apparently you have to be attractive to work there . Just kidding - I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.
Our first time to eat here on our way through Amarillo. Delicious!!! I encourage you give it a try. Tortillas made in house. All the ingredients of our dinners were hot and fresh. The service was friendly and as should be. Prices are very reasonable.

Good Mexican place in Amarillo. The queso was good and the enchiladas were delicious- I got the spinach and avocado enchiladas. They also have fried ice cream but I didn’t have room in my stomach. If I hadn’t been for lunch, I would have tried a margarita. I’d recommend this place.

I got a gift card here for my sisters birthday. She lives in Amarillo. They were very nice. They mailed her the card, didnt charge me a fee for doing it, and she got the card 2 days later. She went with her husband and son. She said the food and service were excellent and they had a great time. Thank you very much for your kindness. I cant wait until I can travel to visit her and go with her to thank you all in person.
Wait wasnt too long for a party of 17.. about 30 minutes on a Friday. Our waiter was great!
Loved it! I had the Stuffed Avacodos with chicked. My husband had the Tacos with Encinitas and enjoyed his very much! The service was fast and the waiter and staff were all very helpful and polite.

Always a great place to eat. The experience is great, good service and equally good food. Pro tip if you like spicier salsa ask for the hot red and green. These two salsas take it to the next level. And if you are looking for a lighter take on Mexican food order the Avocado enchiladas with the jalapeño cream sauce.
The only improvement would be to season salsa more, other than that food and service were great!!

Whatever female was working the bar area between 2&3 today was awful. She didn’t write our order down before putting it in, came back to ask me what I wanted again and then ran off before I’d even finished my order. She got my husbands side wrong, and my entree wrong. It wasn’t something either of us wouldn’t eat, so we dealt with it. Then, no refill of drink was even offered except for my husband. She dropped off the ticket, I asked her to pay half with card, half with cash so I would get $5 back to tip her. Instead, she put all of the cash toward the bill and the remainder on the card and therefore did not get a tip. She needs to slow down and pay attention to what her customers ask and want. As someone who waited tables for 11 years, I have NEVER not tipped a server, but this one legitimately put her own tip toward my bill by not paying attention to what was asked to be done. I was shaking I was so mad when I left. Not impressed. Will not sit in the bar area again.

Yum! Guacamole was excellent; very fresh! I ordered the chicken quesadilla rolls (small order which had two) and they were very good! All the portions were extremely generous and our entire party enjoyed their food. All tasted very fresh and was just as described on the menu (important when you have picky eaters)!
The food was awesome. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. We didnt try anything new. My daughter had the steak burrito and i had chicken enchiladas with a beef taco. We had plenty of food on the plates. I even had leftovers for lunch . Lived the chips and hot sauce. My daughter says the jalapeno hot sauce is killer. Love this place.

The food here is awesome! We were passing through Amarillo and stayed the night close by and decided to try this place. We were not disappointed! The carnitas were delicious and the shredded brisket enchiladas with the spicy tomatillo sauce was to die for. Loved it.

If your looking for a place to go eat delicious Spanish food at a great price well this is a great place to eat the food is very delicious and the prices are good you wont be disappointed they also make fresh homemade tortillas there as well, we have been here twice for lunch & dinner and the food was delicious its real mexican food not like those other restaurants that claim their food is great mexican food, I would recommend this place to anyone. Overall its great 👍

The food was incredible! The best food in Amarillo. I had and enchilada and Carne Guisada dish with beans and rice. The plate was extremely hot and the food was a little to hot to eat. But after it cooled. It was delicious and thee service was excellent. I visited for lunch and ordered dinner to go. A best keep secret right off I-40. A must eat when visiting. I know I will when I come back!

Food and service was amazing. I had the tacos caribeños and although I understand the dish is not for everyone, it is an amazing plate. It hit all the high notes the sweetness of the taco was no overpowering but more of a compliment to the shrimp, the spicy mayo was subtle yet elevated the overall flavor of the taco. The rice was fluffy and tasteful cook to perfection. Which is rare since most mexican restaurants rice is stale and oily and overly seasoned. The black beans I will say were a rare treat, they let the flavor speak for itself and they were not overcooked like in most places. The service was great and prices were very reasonable. Perhaps one of the best mexican restaurants in town.
The food was very good with large servings. The Ranchero beans with the green peppers were delicious! The chips were perfect consistency The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was my personal preference for salsa, I thought it could use a little more flavor. Worth the visit!

We love the Plaza! The food quality is very consistent with something for just about everyone. The complementary chips are thin and great and theres a green salsa available upon request. Top shelf margaritas on the rocks are my favorite (try them with jalapeño and red salt on the rim)

Place was inviting! Atmosphere typical Mexican restaurant. Waitstaff friendly and quick. Tried the stuffed avacado. Not typically an avacado fan so you know. Friends highly recommended so I ordered it. So amazing and fantastic!! I had chicken in mine. Definitely will order again, when I get back to Amarillo.

Amazing atmosphere, it was just getting busy when i arrived so service was a little slow but everyone worked together to satisfy the customer. The food was amazing as well. so many dishes caught my eye so I decided to go with the sampler lol no regrets it was delicious. Great vibe, great food, try it out
I went to the Plaza on the recommendation of someone that I know when I asked her what her favorite restaurant was. I thought to ask her what does she usually order that she likes the best and she said the crispy chile relleno so thats what I ordered and it was very good. So are the rice and beans that came with it and the guacamole salad. I would not hesitate to recommend this place and hope I get to go here again sometime before I leave town. Prices are not as cheap as a little taco shop certainly but I feel they give you a great value for the price and a good quantity as well as quality. The service was excellent and so was the margarita I ordered.

The food was by far sub par. My daughters hamburger was so overcooked that it was extremely dry. My cousin didnt even get the right food. Taco salad was just shredded lettuce with questionable meat. It just wasnt for us. Staff was very pleasant.
Ive been coming to Amarillo for work a lot of years never heard of the restaurant called The plaza oh my gosh friend took me here said it was good Mexican food the menu is loaded I seen there was burgers on there but I had stacked enchiladas with flour tortillas with hamburger brisket and Monterey and cheddar cheese covered with green sauce with refried beans and rice oh my you better be hungry and it is so excellent this will be one of my new staple places in Amarillo to eat and its not far off interstate
There are probably better Mexican restaurants in town, but it is quick and convenient. Also pretty good tamales.
Typical TexMex, but really big menu. Sopapillas were good, salsa not too hot. Seevice was good - very attentive waitress. I had the Skillet Trio Enchiladas and it was really good. Chips were slightly stale. 4 stars for being a solid place, but chip quality dropped it a star.

One of the best Hispanic restaurants I have been to in Amarillo. My absolute favorite and go to. The alcohol drinks are very delicious and they are NOT stingy with the alcohol and the customer service is always great. I highly recommend them.

We got a takeout for 3 tacos and when we got to our hotel literally 2 minutes after we saw the tortillas were extremely soggy and tasted absolutely horrible. The tacos werent exactly cheap either. Not a pleasant experience to say the least...
Terrible Experience, we have family in town and went here for our family dinner. This has been a go to restaurant for us for years. I ordered the stuffed avocado with ground beef, sour cream sauce refrained beens and potatoes, this is my favorite and have ordered it many times. My order came with Charro beans and steak stuffed avocado. I asked the waitress if it could be fixed, she confirmed it wasn’t what I ordered and left to fix it. The manager came back with another plate; it had refried beans, no potatoes, and nacho cheese sauce and a steak stuffed avocado 😳😳. I again explained that I didn’t order steak and the sauce was incorrect ( at this point I didn’t care about the potatoes).The waitress told me the manager explained to her that the avocado only came stuffed with steak. I disagreed and told her I had ordered it before?? The manager then returned with another plate, it had the Avocado and cheese sauce; no beans and no potatoes ( still wrong sauce). He told me they don’t ( prep) the avocados with anything but steak. I now had a stuffed avocado with the correct meat but the wrong sauce and no sides. Everyone was done eating when I received the last and correct Avocado, we paid the bill ( which included my meal they did not take it off the bill) and left the plaza for the last time. The manager should be ashamed of his lack of caring,
Very happy with our first visit here! The food here was delish! We are from Houston and have a plethora of Mexican restaurants available. You’d could say we are kind of Mexican-food snobs 😂🤪. Very picky! From the chips and salsa, to the fajitas, enchiladas, margaritas, and flan...ALL were superb! Not one complaint. So happy to have found this little gem and can’t wait to return again!

We had a delicious dinner here at the Plaza! It is our 2nd time here in three days!! We absolutely enjoyed it! The food was perfect! I got the fish tacos which were the best in town!! Our waiter, Marco Flores was the BEST!! The first evening we dined here, he had to take pictures of us with our guests, etc. He was very friendly & didnt mind at all!! We will request him every time we return!!
As always the best all around Tex-Mex food in town. Some entrees are a little pricey but all around really Great flavor. Of all the years Ive eaten at one of their restaurants Ive never had a bad meal or experience.

We were excited to try out The Plaza when we passed through Amarillo last night. Its been on our list for a while. Perhaps we are just accustomed to our Dallas Tex Mex favorates, but we were a bit dissapointed.Frozen Margaritas were really sweet and packed with lime/lemon but light on tequila. Queso had that Rico Nacho cheese color and the ground beef add on was more like overly shreaded beef to the point of mush. I think the oil was old and the chips had that burnt oil/stale taste. We were there late so that may be the issue.Cheese and chicken enchaladas were great as was the fried chile relleno, although the relleno was filled with that pulverized beef so I should have ordered chicken.Service was good and the place was clean. May just boil down to personal tastes...

Came through Amarillo from Arizona, great Mexican food...great Hamburger taco meat, also the avocado enchilada and fried Omelet renllo were amazing. Friendly service too.
Not very impressive. This is the 3rd time I’ve been to this restaurant and it seems to be declining each time. -Our appetizer was never delivered and we ordered one meal from the lunch menu, but was charged regular menu price. I ordered a side of steamed veggies which consisted of very over cooked broccoli. I also ordered Mexican papas which were mashed potatos with cheese on them? Ew. Guisada was terribly over seasoned with cumin. The rest of the food was bland. I think they try to cater to the elderly crowd that was present over serving authentic Mexican food. Friendly environment and staff though!
I grew up eating Tex-Mex in Texas. I lived in San Antonio for almost 25 years. Did I mention that I love Tex-Mex? This place is good. Enjoy!

I love the fresh salsa, fajitas and atmosphere here. Everything I have tried I love. The waitress was fast, courteous and made sure we were always happy with what we had ordered. This one is better than the one in Lubbock! I like the indoor gazebo in the room too.
Was traveling and found this place near my hotel. I wasn’t expecting much, but it turned out to be very good!Ordered the crispy queso relleno and shrimp quesadillas. The relleno had a great subtle flavor and the queso was surprisingly robust. The refried beans were tasty and the portion of shrimp in the quesadilla was excellent! No skimping here.The only downsides were the house tortilla chips and the rice. They were okay but could have had a bit more flavor. The salsa roja however was very good, so throw some on the rice and you’re all set.Overall, if I were ever to pass through Amarillo again, I’d stop here to try more of the menu.

It is pricey...but has a lot of menu selections. Comfortable atmosphere for just because or to celebrate w family...there was a wait time but I thought it was fairly worth it (for a table of 8). Everyone enjoyed their meal.
Friendly staff and great food, excellent management staff. Jessica was my server tonight and was totally awesome. She was very attentive without being overbearing and made sure everything was OK. The food came out quickly and was completely right. Management was noticeable on the floor checking on guests. The food there is great, the have the best Mexican food in town and the prices are very reasonable. Its the only place in town we go for Mexican food and I recommend it for anybody.
We were on our way through Amarillo and picked this restaurant based on the good reviews. It did not disappoint! They have the best tortilla chips Ive ever had! The salsa was excellent as well. We ordered fajitas which was excellent. Our server was Marco and he was exceptional. He was very attentive and gave great suggestions. If we are ever back here, well certainly stop.

I never write reviews but this was so out of character.Celebrating my daughters birthday, we decided to go to the Plaza. It was almost 7 on a Saturday and we knew it would be busy. We gave our name and sat down to wait. And wait, and wait and wait.Finally after we were the only people left in the waiting area we went to ask when we could be seated. They had accidentally marked off our name.They seated us immediately. Our waitress was a sweetheart but totally overwhelmed. It took a long while before she took our order. Then we seamed to wait a long time for our food.The food was delicious as usual, but it was 9:45 before we got out of there.We will always choose the Plaza but I sure hope it doesnt take 3 hours next time.

02 Aug 2020 6:30pmOPEN FOR BUSINESS.First time at this establishment and it was awesome. I asked for a platter that wasnt listed on the menu and COURTNEY was able to get the kitchen staff to prepare it. Kudos to Courtney, the food prep staff and to the manager they work for. Highly recommended.
I had the Santa Fe Chicken Salad. It was excellent. It was so delicious it couldnt have been as healthy as I was hoping but no regrets....

Me and my husband choose The plaza for our 16 years anniversary, and boy were we satisfied!Customer service with Zachary was awesomeHe was on it! Made sure he catered to us!!!Food was delicious we got the stuffed avocado and built your own burrito with the sour cream sauce over it! With Refried beans And rice was delicious! The temperature was even hot 🙌🏽The owner was nice also, I had to stop him to let him know how pleased I was❤️ Bathroom was clean, restaurant was clean highly recommended to go! Price was reasonable!
One of my favorite restaurants in Amarillo. I usually eat here whenever I go to Amarillo. It is a great place to meet friends to have a meal and catch up with each other.
We absolutely love this place. Decided to stop on our way to Denver. Our server took great care of us and service was quick and on point. Everyone of the workers had a smile on their face. Not to mention the food was amazing. Flavors were amazing and I enjoyed every bite. And they make there tortillas in house!!!!! The building was beautiful. Bottom line if you ever pass by The Plaza in Amarillo, TX make sure you stop in.

Christian is one of the best bartenders in town. Always knows our drinks and orders! Will gladly wait for a seat in the bar area anytime. Great food and a nice place to dine for Sunday lunch!
One of the few places in town to get a real chili rellano. These rellanos are not egg battered pablano peppers. These are traditional rellanos that are hatch green chilies that are roasted, stuffed with choice of meat, battered, then deep fried. Served with queso, beans and rice. Sooooo good! One of my go to places to eat when in Amarillo. Staff is friendly and makes sure you have plenty of chips and hot sauce. I love love The Plaza for lunch or dinner.
Have long-loved this place since they were in the shopping center off Bell, and will continue to forever love this place I am sure! The food is always great, the owner is present so often which shows he really cares about the overall care and quality (even remembers most of his guests), and the employees are always phenomenal. If you are splurging, I recommend their Spicy Cheese Sticks appetizer by the way; I always order them even though I never order appetizers from anywhere else.

The staff was very kind, they supported the big group of family we had. We had an engagement and a birthday party. The waitress was very kind and served us well. The staff also checked in and so did a manger. I love how all the staff makes sure the tables are being served even if it wasnt their original job.
Amazing food and wonderful service. Ive honestly never been a huge fan of Mexican food. The Plaza has consistently delivered hot dishes on all my visits. Even when they are completely packed, food service is pretty prompt. I can say that the Plaza is one of my new go-to Mexican food favorites.
I stopped here every time I go through Amarillo. Really authentic Mexican food prepared with a lot of love. I enjoy watching the ladies making the tortillas right there in the front of the store. Everything is so fresh. The manager Sonya does an excellent job and bartender Katie is excellent at recommending good anejos.
Good food, friendly service. But very lax in regards to masks. Staff wore masks, customers walked all around me without a mask. Also they had a private party and those guests came into the dining room without masks. Bottom line ..if you are concerned about safety...dont go.
Every time I go I get something new and its very good. Caribbean tacos this last time. Very tasty and very filling. Paired up with a CoronaRita and I was a very happy compadre.
Stopped in for dinner Sept. 28, 2019. This a Big restaurant with a Big menu with plenty of choices. Got seated right away and had super service from our server Courtney. Food was excellent. Enjoyed the busy family atmosphere.

Eaten here several times. Excellent Mexican food with a large variety as well as some American food. Great mixed drinks too! Very decent prices. This time I decided to order American food and got a chicken fried steak. This was a very good portion with 2 sides and was only $11.99.

Showed up 20 minutes before closing time with kids in tow after a long day on the road. Expected glares from the staff that was likely ready to go home. They were so nice about it! The food was delicious and the waitress was so kind my kids added to her tip from their own pocket money
Did not disappoint. Coming from a very Mexican family, I am picky when it comes to Mexican food but this place was good. Hubby had the fajitas which were a good portion. Mom had the tortilla chicken soup and that had a very good taste to it. I had the smothered spicy chicken that came with a enchilada. We then had a tres leches chocolate cake and a sopapilla. Best part was the flour tortillas. Needless to say we brought home tortillas.

Chips and hot sauce are really good. I got the Chicken fajita chimichangas. Dont get it. Was mostly onions, un cooked onions. However the service abs atmosphere were great!! Im ordering something different next time. Everyone else in my party really liked their food.
We LOVED this place. We are from Arkansas but grew up in central Texas. Best place Ive ever eaten. We are hot sauce connoisseurs and have never found a hot sauce we like as well as this. Food was excellent, service was excellent and prices cant be beat. Was going to try the Big Texan since this was our first trip to Amarillo. So glad we didnt. Well be back thru here on our way back from California and will definitely stop here. Thank you
Came in for a work Christmas party with 35 people and booked a private room over a month in advance. The entire staff had a terrible attitude from the get go. From the lack of food to the lack of service (our only waitress disappeared for over an hour and a half and we had zero service), the Plaza made our Christmas party stressful and hectic. Not to mention the fact that they started pulling our tables out from under us and seating new people in our private room before we were even finished. Seriously, who does that?! For the insane amount the company paid and tipped the server, we should not have been treated so negatively. The entire party was stressed out about the blatant disregard from the staff and the fact that we were being treated so poorly. So sorry to inconvenience you with our business!! Won’t happen again.
WOW! What an amazing and wonderful restaurant.. Texas sized portions and the food is just fantastic! I come from Las Vegas where we have endless amounts of buffets and restaurants, but Plaza Restaurant is head and shoulders above them.. Service is so welcoming! Thanks to the great staff!
Definitely a great welcome to Texas stop after driving from the west. Their Michelada was refreshing and made with clamato (how it is supposed to be made). Vanessa, our server, was amazing.
Good Mexican food with a wide gluten free menu. Can be really busy with long wait times but we got in fast for a Friday night. I had chicken fajitas and they were very good. The guacamole was fresh and tasty but a tad too much raw onion for my taste, yet I still ate it!

Absolutely the best service and quality consistently when dining in...EDIT I absolutely will NEVER do a call in order again. While we always get great quality and service inside, our call in order was cold before being outside and it had just been brought to the front. There were errors in that same order. When you order three enchiladas the same way and one of them comes out with a totally different meat and sauce, its wrong. When chicken feels as if it were stored in the fridge and then slapped onto a taco shell and put in a box with the cold rice....disappointing to say the least. My advice...if you want quality and great service, dine in. Otherwise, youll probably get something halfassed

They were incredibly busy and there was some confusion as to who our waiter was and someone asked for our drink order twice (not the worst thing, they were just busy so there was a lot of chaos) My sister has a weirdly specific allergy to pickled jalapenos and we made them aware so the manager came out and explained what all the jalapeno was in so that we knew what might expose her. They were so busy but so fast! The bus boy also was very understanding when we explained the allergy and our waitress (who was not the one to take out actual order) came out to apologize about the mistake of the jalapeno on our nachos.The food was really, really wonderful and even though they were incredibly busy, the service was above and beyond. I would recommend it on the service alone. It was a really great experience and it is one I look forward to repeating.And their desert gave me the giggityshivers. 🤤🤤

I had the combo enchiladas with cheese and avocado enchiladas covered in red sauce. They were really good. Hindsight I should have ordered all avocado as they arent something a lot of Tex-Mex restaurants serve. The sampler platter was huge and 2 people shared it as a meal. They said the jalapeno poppers were wonderful They also really liked the taquitos. My other dining companion liked his fajita enchiladas but he said he wouldve liked them better if they were prepared with flour tortillas.The Plaza restaurant has been an Amarillo staple for several decades and its easy to see (taste) why.
There is a great atmosphere, excellent service, the food came out fast and hot. Most of all, the food was the best Tex-Mex Ive ever had. I normally dont do reviews as much as I should, however, the first thing I wanted to do after my meal is to write a review. Hopefully it will help someone else discover this great food too!
They have a special margarita right now for Valentines.. it is soo good! I ordered the salmon and thought it was delicious. I will have to come back.
One of our favorites in town. The menu is so big and varied that its hard to choose what to get. The drinks are amazing and decently priced. The atmosphere is delightful and its a good place to bring kids. All around, just an enjoyable experience. The staff was all excellent and made our visit wonderful

Seems like our server was more attentive to the other tables around me and my wife and daughter. My cup sat empty the entire time we ate. We never got asked if our food was right or anything. They didnt bring out my wifes complete order. Busy dosent sacrifice customer service. I know the assumption of Black folks dont tip exists due to my experience working in a restaurant years ago but this wont happen again because I wont be visiting again anytime soon.
Love the food, great service. A little crowded, Amarillo knows a good restaurant when they have one. Staff was on top of everything regardless of how busy it was. It was worth every penny. Our waiter was Rosa she was excellent.

2021-07-14Good food, great prices and service. The queso was a bit ruuny but had great flavor. We both had brisket in our dishes and it was good. The salsa tasted fresh and they gave us a large bowl with the chips. The margaritas were good and for a small they were large.

2022-05-11Usually its great. Sometimes you get waitresses that are great and some not.We ordered a shot and it came half full and asked what was up with that. She carried it around the whole back kitchen and the whole restaurant and brought it back trying to say it was a double shot glass.........it wasnt. Even if it truly was I dont think thats proper restaurant code of conduct.Ah well better luck next time.

2021-07-11Came back home on leave and brought the man. Told him this was the first Mexican food place we had to eat at. Again, it was amazing. I get the extra hot sauce (not really that hot) to dips chips in. I really like how they offer interchangeable sides instead of just rice and refried beans. I got veggies and charro beans. Service is consistently prompt and staff is kind.

Big truck can get in next to the old Furrs.Hubby had the build your own enchilada plate and I had the taquitos.Suggestion: Less cilantro and a little more kick to the salsaLess lettuce and a couple more slices of advocadoes.A little too much peppers and onion in the charro beans.Bring flour tortillas to table with the meal.Meats were all great flavors and a real cheese sauce on the enchiladas! Rice true aromatic and no carrots.Think we will try that Chile relleno next time.Bathrooms and restaurant super clean! +++

2022-05-28The Plaza will always be our go-to for our big family because they never fail to try to accommodate us. Our server, Mateo, was super busy with other tables and other big tables and he still did his best to be friendly and attentive. It was graduation night on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and it was CRAZY, but it was also my daughters 20th birthday and we wanted to surprise her with a family dinner and cake, etc. The food was great, even with complicated orders, and the mangonita (i think thats what Mateo suggested?) was delicious!! Thank you, Plaza!!
