Pluckers Wing Bar in other cities:
Food is average. I do not understand the 5stars.. there was over an hour wait. But google says 15 minutes…Host had no idea on our wait. “20 more minutes”.Found out why when we got seated, turns out tipping the host gets you seated right away.Stay away if you got some sense and hungry
For the 2nd time ordering online where we order and drive to the restaurant and wait in parking lot to find out our order couldn’t be fulfilled. Pretty upsetting however Alex the floor manager called to apologize directly and explained why it couldn’t be fulfilled. (Will admit this tends to happen when it’s a late night on a weekend) Appreciated the call and really helped me understand the situation better vs. a default email saying my order was canceled unexpectedly. Aside from those hiccups the food and customer service are amazing!
I been going to pluckers for 9 or 10 years now. I always love it. The prices have gone up since the beginning but so have many other places. Wait staff are usually good which is cool. Food can sometimes take awhile but youll forget once your diving into it.The problem i had recently was that i went in and had a big order and i knew i wanted to scan my receipt to get my plucker points but at the time my phone was dead. So i went home and tried to do it but the points had already been redeemed. I was like no way thats impossible; unless the waiter who helped me took for points for them sleves. I called and spoke with a manager which she told me everything would be fine the points would be there by the next day. So i waited and got nothing. Then i called again and they couldnt connect me with the manager. So i called the next day and got a different manager who told me to call back the next day for her. So i called that following day and she was in a meeting and would call me back. I waited till the next day and got no response. Then i called again to try her and she wasnt available to speak. When i did talk to someone finally they just said well give her the message and shell reach out. Still no call 😕
Waited an hour for a pickup order. Servers let it sit for 15 minutes, before calling it out to me. Came out to the car and the entire order was incorrect, got told I could wait for it to be remade but it would be another 30 minutes. Host didnt offer anything to better the situation, customer service here is the worst out of any location.
I am from out town ,have never been having to wait almost and hour to be seated. Then to top it off ,other tables were being waited before us after seating down.Ridiculous to be like overlooked, not to say the least. The long hair guy at the front ,worstless. Was send to wipe tables maybe she was the manager ,I image . He walks like a turtle and then like he doesnt like to take orders. All I say poor management and not coordinate.
Best service we have ever received at a Pluckers, the food was delicious, the lemonade was that good combo punch of sweet and sour, but the frozen strawberry margarita was phenomenal, I have been craving a frozen margarita that meets my taste. Thank you to the staff that REQUIRED customers to wear masks and took our temperature, yall are the real MVPs!!
Food was delicious ...good drink specials...outstanding.. above and beyond hospitality...my waiter Ariel was very attentive, excellent server.......we came in to celebrate my wifes birthday and all the staff came out and sang ...good times truly made it special for her....
9 out of 10 times (no exaggeration), the side ranch and bleu cheese in the to-go orders will be incorrect, always with ranch in place of bleu cheese. I got used to ordering extra bleu cheese hoping the extra line item on order would yield better results. No luck. Tonight our order should have had 3 bleu cheeses and 1 ranch and we got 2 ranches and 1 bleu cheese. Miss them checking orders with customers to avoid realizing the error after driving 30 minutes home with a toddler; although, you’d hope they’d do this without prompting.
Great Pluckers location. As always outstanding wings! I typically get the 5 Wing Combo, but this time decided to branch out and got the Blue Cheese Chicken Cobb with my chicken tossed in Goldrush sauce and WOW - best, most filling salad ever! We also had the Fried Pickles and Totchos to start, all absolutely delicious. Shout out to Marley our server who was incredible, excellent service! This location is also doing an excellent job during COVID with temperature checks, plexiglass partitions between tables and sanitization throughout
I have been to this location multiple times. I like it because it’s not in downtown Austin versus their other Austin location.TIP: Use the ‘NoWait’ app to cutdown your wait time. You can put yourself in line before you get there.Since I forgot to use the app, we waited an hour to be seated. There were empty tables but it seemed like they were understaffed that day.I usually just order the boneless bites appetizer as my entree but I decided to switch it up. I ordered the ‘Bypass Burger’ which was a huge mistake. The burger had no flavor and some of the trimmings were missing. Our server Nina was phenomenal and was kind enough to take it off our tab because we weren’t going to eat it.Other then that, appetizers were good and service was awesome!
Pluckers is such a great chain. Gets very crowded. Use Nowait as a pro tip to avoid that line! Fantastic specials all week. Pluckers club card is worth it. Lots of tvs here with an awesome full bar. Another tip bar area extends to the back. Parking is good around pluckers and the main line heading all the way back to pep boys. Don’t get towed!!
Good drinks and great assortment of wing flavors, both sauced and dry. Expect a wait during busy hours if you are with a group. I went with a friend and there was plenty of room in the bar area for no wait! Service was friendly and food came out quick and hot. Excellent place to enjoy a game and some friendly conversation!
Waited 10 minutes and hi service, finally got a water and a menu, waited another 10 minutes. Costomer service is severely lacking. Spoke with the manager, Lee, and he was very responsive and have me a gift card for my next visit. (Didnt get to eat lunch) *Management seems to be on top of it.
Food came out fast and fresh however the customer service was poor. Sat at the bar and the lady who was hispanic and on the heavy side was running it came off very off putting. She seemed to pay attention to everyone else but me. Cant help but think if it was racially motivated since I was the only Black person sitting there. She greeted new customers very friendly cant say I got that same experience. Not surprised the manager literally watched me like a hawk. As a native Austinite they really made me not want to eat at another Pluckers again.
Dined in for the first time, ordered as normal in DETAILS. WE saw the lady server WROTE our orders, combo thighs, salad and philly sandwich. another server came back to ask for the flavor of the chicken. Waited for about 25mins, only to serve combo thighs and COLD waffle fries plus the drinks which was initially served. The rest of the order was not served. We asked for the salad only to find out she just punched it and another long wait, end up cancelling everything. Mind you we wait in the queue for 40mins. Not sure what happened since she wrote it. Left with annoyed and heavy heart. Happened today 01/17/2022, between 7-7:30 PM. South Lamar branch
Food is good, but they would add extra tip if you dont put a .00 after the total value. Also there is bad fake homeless person asking for food, and the guy would say dirty words to you if you dont give but nobody from the restaurant would help to make their restaurant environment good
This location is a hit or miss. When its not crowded, the experience is great but dont go on trivia/game nights if you want to eat in a timely manner. The potato chips can sometimes be super soggy and the wings can sometimes be dry. When its a good day, its really GOOD and their sweet tea is so refreshing ;-)
Pluckers big dogs management decided to cancel over $100+ of earned work credits for food immediately after my son gave 2 weeks notice and went on to a different job. We found this out when my son was treating his dad to a lunch. This is a childish unprofessional action.
Pluckers is a great spot to have wings and beer. They have a great selection of wing sauces and dry rubs. They even let you my flavors together. Ive been going to Pluckers for about 5 years now and its never disappointed. Sweet tea in a huge mason jar, nothing more Texas than that. I dont know their daily specials, but I do know on Monday nights its $20 all you can eat! Time to go get your grub on!
Pluckers is the place to go for great customer service, good beer, and delicious wings. It doesnt matter what location you go to youre gonna get the best of everything. This was the very first Pluckers I dined at years ago and still today its still great. Thanks to the Team for great customer service!
I go to Pluckers at least twice a month when Im in Austin today it took 25 minutes for me to even give the bartender my order and I had to have someone go get him. In the hour and a half that I was there I only saw him twice wants to take my order any other time when I had to go so have someone get him to give me my check. I even had to refill my own drink. Food was good
Our waiter whose name I cant quite remember. I believe his name was Genesis or Justice. Well he did the best he could with how busy it was in his section. 2 big parties and mine was one of them. He was still upbeat and very hospitable. For them being busy and understaffed and running out of food and drinks he did the best he could and it made me feel a bit bad for the staff there but ever since Covid most places have been severely understaffed. We always enjoy pluckers and this is usually the location we visit.
Placed a simple order over the phone- Only an order of the Holy Mac. Arrived at restaurant about 10 min later and parked in curbside. Called restaurant to inform them I arrived for whenever it was ready. Almost 30 min later an employee comes out and says no order could be found and she’d ask to get it made now. Then why did the guy that answered initially stated he marked my spot on the receipt?! Employee didn’t even apologize.Update- Pluckers did reach out and made it right
I would of added a picture except my friends and I couldn’t wait to dig into the food. The Holy Mac is 😮💨godly😫, never heard of it in any other place but I’m wishing every place had it. I got the 12oz boneless basket bbq medium, I should of gone with bbq hot but the amount of sauce was absolutely perfect!! Lastly, the fried oreos was just the cherry on top!! Our server, who I sadly I don’t remember her name, but she was super attentive and did amazing for a busy saturday night!! Next time I visit Texas I’ll definitely come back for some holly mac and the wings!!
Food was good, but our experience was sub par. The manager on duty (I believe her name is Lauren or Laura) seems to think it is okay to embarrass and belittle her staff in front of guests over masks. I understand it’s a serious issue, but I feel like those conversations should be done in private and away from guests. To make matters worse not even 20 minutes later we saw her out and about with no mask at all. Sounds like an abuse of power to me. I for sure wouldn’t want to give my best at a job if that was how I was treated.
Staff is either rushing to get the orders in to go hang out in the back or the place is never clean. The good news is its usually never both at the same time, at least that I have been there. Utilize those comment cards! Food is pretty standard havent had an issue with the quality. Still a good location amongst other Pluckers locations.
Typically bustling, but worth the wait for good wings. Now that they have the impossible burger it’s easer for me to convince the vegetarian wife to come along! Join the pluckers club for free appetizers etc. Boneless wings are my go to and they never disappoint. Spring for the Mac and Cheese over fries it’s amazing!
First time ever at Pluckers. For apps we got the fried pickles which were AMAZING! I ordered the fried oreos that comes with vanilla ice cream....DELICIOUS! My friend had the lil chicken pieces & fries from the starter menu. He wasnt impressed, and said next time hell stick with the wings lol. I took one star away only because the restaurant was so packed on a Sunday around 3pm that I felt I was literally sitting on top of the other 2 tables next to me...like there was maybe 1.5 chair width distance between our table and the other tables. Social distancing is definitely not observed at this place. Other than that, the food and service was decent.
Placed order at 3:50 and is now 5:20 and order is still not ready. Nothing big just two orders of monster boneless wings. Don’t ever order online or spend your money else where I called and asked to speak with the manager and I was placed on hold and then they hung up.
Favorite Sunday football spot. Been going 5o this location for years. Best atmosphere for game. Seen staff come and go, the manager last year was awful, then new managers are great though!! Really love the wings and drink specials. The only thing I dislike is their promotional TV running on a main TV during game time. Whyyyyy???? We are already here, I get ya gotta promo but on a main TV? I come here for the tv set up and you are just going to run a Pluckers promo video on loop instead of showing a game?? Yall crazy? Whats corporate thinking? No more Ginger oeach Siracha, gtfoh.
Had a really good visit. As always great service and great food. They required temperature check before entering which was appreciated. The restaurant itself was not very packed. We had wings, of course, which were really good. Their Fire in the Hole sauce is quite spicy but not terrible and it has good flavor.Had the macaroni appetizer and southwest cesar salads. All very good. My son had a tender basket and they were huge and very moist.Would highly recommend this spot and also if you can you should sign up for their rewards card. Totally worth it.
Great wings every time! Fresh meat, large portions! I love the garlic Parmesan dry rub! Their fries remind me of ChicFilA and dipped in their ranch is 😮💨 sooo good! Currently there is a $2 up charge per 5 bone-in wings due to the shortage just a heads up. Nothing they can prevent tho.
Went in for a late diner at 10 on the clock and when talking to the hostess looked around to see if they ever had tables available (which they did a good amount of them) it was only for two but was told it’d be a 2 hour wait. If I had chosen to wait for 2 hours then I would’ve came back at closing time. It makes me wonder if they even caught on that or if they purposely said that to stop bringing customers in. I’ve been to pluckers many times on BUSY days and big game days when I can’t even find a parking lot and it’s never been a 2 hour wait. If you don’t want to take in customers then maybe you should just blatantly state you don’t want to take customers because it’s after 10 (which then defeats the purpose of staying open until midnight). It just felt silly to be told this and having to leave because of course nobody is going to want to wait 2 hours especially us that would’ve been back at closing time, it makes me wonder if they would’ve even taken us in or would also tell us that unfortunately they’re closed now at this point it doesn’t surprise me after what I’ve been told. It’s really unfortunate this happened since we go here at least once a week whether it’s done in or to go.
Pluckers is constantly giving you the wrong food. Dont even bother ordering through a delivery service because it will show up wrong. They charge a higher price than any other wing restaurant and cant even bother to get your food right. If youre going to charge me 2 dollars a wing, you better get my order right...
My husband and I were trying to have a night out. (Long overdue) We dont get out as much since all this COVID bizz. So i was going to be very sad if I were to have the experience it started out to be. What started out as a 2 star experience at best, was quickly recovered by a nice gentleman named Noah. He was very professional, knowledgeable and had mad customer service skills. He was sure to take care of any issues we had. Had it not been for Noah I would have given this location 2 stars. So...thank you very much sir.
Your prices are insane even given the chicken wing shortage. $2 a wing is not acceptable, and being a long time Pluckers fan of almost 15 years, I wont be back until yall have gotten to your senses. You then added a $14 dollar hot dog, you guys are off your rocker. Nice try.
On a busy 4th July weekend Im working delivery and the guy handling Curbside says to me that the cashier had disappeared for more than 15 minutes and he had no clue where my order was. I had already waited 45 mins plus another 30 mins elapsed and I get youre busy but come on we all got busy schedules not mention money to make. I walk into the place and feel like Im bothering someone instead of being a easy transaction. Also the last time I came here the food quality has gone down, go to Tommy Want Wingy instead.
Horrible experience. Waited 30 minutes with two other guests to be greeted. When we placed our drink and food order, it took about 20 minutes for us to get our water and the bar drinks were wrong and had to be remade. During the time of waiting for the bar drinks the manager came over and interrogated my friend about her ID. After she realized it was her real ID, the manager was rude and didn’t come back to check on the table though we had no drinks. The food came out wrong and was extremely greasy. Another server had to jump in to help, and she forgot some of the things we asked for as well. When we received the bill, there was charges of drinks we didn’t order. The manager still did not come by to make sure we were alright. No one seemed sincere and I felt ignored and not taken care of. Terrible service and terrible food.
Pretty average experience for a wings bar. comparable to buffalo wild wings with no extra bells and whistles. I ordered the doctor pepper wings and waffle fries and they tasted a lot like what you could get at a bunch of other places. props for the huge mason jar of lemonade though
Good food and friendly waitstaff. One of my husband’s go-to places to eat, we prefer dine in rather than to-go. Use the waitlist on yelp to avoid phoning in or waiting for a table! A great place for dinner after a day at the park. We can’t wait until they’re open at full capacity. Always busy, so you know they’re good.
Good Food! When they get your order right, when. 1/3 of the time they’ll get your order right. My pick ups have been completely wrong for the last month. I get pluckers one a week at least, I like it it’s good. But this my order today 4/21 was completely wrong from what I ordered not even close to it. I’ve been patient, I worked in the food bizz for 4 years so I know how it can be. Get better management pluckers @south Lamar. Kids make terrible managers!
Upon arrival was told it was a 15min wait. After giving my name&# I received a text saying I was on the waitlist. After 15min I proceeded to ask about my place in line and the host said oh I think you guys were notified and you missed your place in line. She told me to hold on and went inside then came back out and said we were notified and missed our place so our spot was given up. I asked her how were we notified when all I had was 1 text saying I was on waitlist. She said we were called, I checked my call log and showed her I had no missed calls so how were we notified and asked her what # was called, she couldnt tell me and then said we can have a table outside if wed like. We took the table since we had already been waiting longer than expected in the hot sun. I feel like the host kept repeating we were notified, we were notified as to insinuate that I was wrong when in fact WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED. There was no apology given just accusation of being notified and missing our spot. I did ask our waitress to notify manager but no one ever came to our table for the miscommunication hence my review rating. If youre going to accuse me then prove me wrong!
Went here about a week ago for my birthday ironicly and received the absolute worst service at the bar. After ignoring us for over 10 minutes I attempted to get her attention and was basically yelled at. She simply stated you can see Im busy cant you! I understand that at times it can be really busy but all it takes is 10 seconds or less just to acknowledge my presence. Wont go back ever again and Im a pluckers club member but that will go to waste now. 💯
Good food, but decent service which is usually a surprise. The host seated us in a section which I guess the shift lead was in charge of but she was barely there since she was doing closing duties and had other servers attending our table. Which I get but poor seating decision since there were obviously other servers available and could have left her to do her duties. She was very sweet and tried to be attentive but she had too much on her hands the night we went. Food wise, it was okay, the quality at this location has gone down since I first came but I’ve come to realize that its the expected at this location now.
I have never had such a horrible experience at Pluckers in my life! I have never been the South Lamar Pluckers before and will never go again. I order catering from Pluckers for work, I have hosted private events there and I eat there often with my family but the service at this location was slow, the restaurant was dirty, they were out of macaroni and cheese. My server was nice but clearly not trained. She gave me 2 receipts, one for the appetizers and drinks and the other had our tables food and the table before ours food and credit card payment on it. We waited 30 minutes for a table and the table we were sat at was empty the entire time then we waited another 40 minutes for food and 25 minutes for our check and to go boxes.
I really wanted to enjoy my second visit as it was only my second visit. Unfortunately, not the case. First, does anyone like working there? The girls as hostesses were just rude. Our waiter was nice. We ordered wings. After waiting over 40 minutes to get them, they were barely warm. Best thing of the visit, the ranch dressing! One would think with the corporate office in Austin things would be better all around. Disappointed is me being kind.
I went there today and spent $72 dollars worth of food just to get food Poisoning when I got home. I will not be coming here again.Update: after speaking with the general manager Brian Power, we have spoken and resolved this situation with the upmost professionalism and great customer service he provides as a manager. We will be giving them another chance.
The service is good, but the food never really impresses me. Ive been here multiple times now, and the major frustration is that I enjoy the appetizers and the dessert, but the main meal is always disappointing. My last trip I had the Buffalo Bites Plate, and the best part of the meal was the fries. My chicken was fried too much and not sauced enough. The holy macaroni and the brownie for dessert were both great, but I dont go to a restaurant for that. I go to a restaurant for their entrées. Honestly, I cant recommend actively seeking out their cuisine, but if friends really want to go make sure to stick with the appetizers.
The wait for a table was reasonable. Once we sat we waited for 3 minutes to give our drink order. We gave our food order and waited 22 minutes for our food. The hamburger I ordered was cooked very well done and was hard as a rock. The waffle fries were cold. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Wasnt as good as a visit this time. The waitress was very nice and polite. When she asked if I wanted my mushrooms before my meals I told her yes. A little while later they brought out my meals wasnt as good as a business is time. The waitress was very nice and polite. But when she asked if I wanted my mushrooms before my meals I told her yes. A little while later they brought out my meal and then a few minutes later they brought out my mushrooms. So my food sad theyre and got cold why I ate it my mushrooms. I did ask her to make me a fresh meals and she very politely did.
We waited for over an hour to be seated. No problem. Then we waited over 50 minutes to receive our food. The food was obviously ready , because our food came out cold. The taste was good, tots and waffle fries were room temperature, along with the wings. Very disappointing.
Ive always go to this location because Ive had great experiences in the past, but this last time Ive went wasnt as good. The wait time took longer than usual, no biggie. It took well over 15 minutes for us to get our appetizers, keep in mind Pluckers wasnt that busy. Then another 15 minutes to get our entrees. My wings looked kind of dried, there wasnt that much sausa on them. Then we ended up getting a different server(due to shift change) this server didnt once come back to our table to serve us refills or asked us if we were ready for the check. We had to flag him down. Overall, the food was good, the service and wait time could of been better. I would of understood the wait time if Pluckers was slammed, but they werent that busy. Hopefully my next visit will be a better one.
Awesome customer service! We got there & told them that we needed a table for 6 on the patio, and they told us that it would be about 20 minutes. Even though there were at least 2 tables open (away from others by the way so “social distancing” wasn’t an issue), but we said okay since it was only 20 minutes.50 minutes later, after 5 of us asking what the status was, the guy up front told us that all of the servers were on a break & it would be at least another 15 minutes.Needless to say, we left. Outstanding experience and I would definitely recommend this place if you have time to waste!!
We ordered the family wing combo for pickup today. $70 worth of food and I can say I’m so disappointed in the food I just came home with. Fries, tots, and fried pickles are cold and soggy. Boneless wings are ok but not hot and little sauce.. the bone wings are terrible. Food was suppose to be ready at 4:30, they brought it out after 5. Everything has obviously been ready and just sitting there for awhile because nothing is even warm anymore... we typically love pluckers but I don’t want to have to recook things when I bring it home. If you want pluckers eat there because the to go food isn’t worth it!
Came here for lunch with my wife. I love pluckers, but this one was awful. Took forever to bus the table for us to sit down. Waitress was very slow to get to us. Food took forever to come out. When it finally came out it was lukewarm, and the seasoning was in a pile on top of the food. It seemed like they forgot to finish it and served it to us. The waitress then took forever to get us the check so we could go back to work. Terrible management, terrible experience. I expect much better from Pluckers.
I definitely will recommend going to this location. I enjoyed the great customer service especially from Michael he was amazing!! If you want great service definitely get Michael making sure our food was good very communicative and great personality with my kids!!! Good job guys!
Take out was terrible.... charge me a $3 packaging fee for take out (60 wings) and you include ZERO napkins? And you send us home with only 50 wings. Terrible job. Spent $106 on chicken wings and the wings were average at best. Had to go all the way back to your store to get what you owed us.... while the first 50 wings were getting cold. Not so much as an apology. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. These guys dont care. They’ve grown too big and just don’t care. Too many other options in Austin.
Been too 4 other Pluckers and have given 5 stars at each of these locations. But the one on S.Lamar, wow your staff has done the impossible. You have split the food atom and merged Pluckers normally great flavors with Lubys. I didnt go in the kitchen but I am pretty sure you have the same machine that takes the flavor out of everything and replaces it with Bland. I mean if flavor were a color this one was beige, I cant even describe it. Maybe it was the absence of flavor. So picture eating a rough textured tofu, no thats not quite right, those little Styrofoam packing peanuts. Yeah thats it, I must have ordered the packing peanut sauce chicken sandwich. Except I didnt and I waited an eternity (possibly less but it seemed long) to get it. How do I know this while sitting at a dirty table awaiting my food I watched the entire life cycle of a Mayfly. Pluckers while you are definitely a favorite of mine I will never darken the doors of your S. Lamar location. Corporate if you are listening you might want to investigate this location as it is an unholy blemish on your up to now spotless reputation in this humble customers eyes.
Absolutely awful service. Our waitress was never to be seen - she came by twice the entire time we were there. We have been sitting at our table for an hour and a half and still have no food. Our fried pickles showed up cold and we waited for 30 minutes to get even get an appetizer! Our drinks were never refilled (our waitress forgot our drink order and we had to get the manager in order to even order drinks), and when we finally got our food almost 2 hours later, it was also completely cold to the touch. Plus we had the manager take our drink order and they servers still werent even able to deliver the drinks to us in the timely manner. We left before they even delivered them! Highly disorganized service and absolutely awful experience. We walked away not even eating our food because it was so cold and now have to go to another restaurant to eat dinner! The manager was a nice guy about the whole thing, but the food was a bad experience especially for my husband who had never been to Pluckers before.
First, we were from out of town, a party of five, and went between 6 and 7 pm. So I had the Honey BBQ Burger. I am told you can get anything anyway you want it here so I switched it to be on toast minus onions, waffle fries with ranch seasoning (should have went with the spicy ranch that the server, Ash, suggested but thought it might be spicy...its not), strawberry lemonade, and a side of ranch to dip with. Burger came out medium well just like I like it without me asking. It was so DELICIOUS! I should have stopped at half given I was full by then but it tasted so good I couldnt stop myself. Two of my co-workers had different kinds of wings. One had a side of spicy ranch tater tots which proved the spicy ranch wasnt that spicy. Another had a side of macaroni and cheese. We are sharers so I got to try their sides. Both were good. My coworkers said they loved that the wings were slightly crisp because they hate when the wings arent since its a sign they may not be cooked all the way through. Another coworker had the Bypass Burger. She loved it. Like me she ate too much. Be prepared for a LOT of jalapenos. She took half of them off. She had a side of sweet potato fries which may have been better hot. Seemed like they must have finished cooking first. Our server, Ash, was on point!! She checked on us regularly, came back timely with requests, topped us off with drinks as we waited for our meals, and let us know she had been sat with a large party towards the end of our meal in case she was delayed coming back to us. Great job Ash! The only tip I would suggest are to the hosts. After seeing the wait would be long, we opted to eat in the bar. We told a host to tell the hostess that took our number to take us off the list (the call you when your table is ready), we still received a call more than 30 minutes after to say our table was ready. Since we were a party of 5 hungry people eating after a conference, we would have probably left if we had to wait since we were only told 15-20 minutes. We were nearly done with our meal before getting the call.
Dont normally write ANY bad reviews, but feel this was worth the time. We went to the Lamar Pluckers in Austin. Got there around 3:30 or so. No full at all, in fact it appeared there were more waitstaff and managers than customers. Ordered sampler platter, and 4 meals. Platter took 25 min to come out. It was very good, the issue was, our food came out 2 min later with the waitress telling us there was a training issue in the kitchen. On top of that, took forever to get a second drink. We didnt say anything, but clearly she forgot. If it HAD been a training issue I would hope the manager would have told them to remake our food so it was hot. Looks like a cool atmosphere, just poor service that day I guess.
Our total sit time was 1 hour & 50 minutes. Took 55 minutes to get our food from the time we sat, ordered our drinks and put in our food order. The place wasnt jammed pack, it was busy, but not that busy. And for the second straight visit, I had 2 wings that were overcooked and tough. And for the most part, there wasnt much sauce on them. To make it worse, 2 tables arrived about 20-30 minutes after we did, and both received our order before us. Those 2 tables had a different waiter than us. Not very happy with the our last 2 visits.
I dont like giving negative reviews but this was my experience. Our server was not on a good mood. When we asked her if she had sample platters she looked at us like we were lost. She recommended a plate that was not tasty at all. Our two order of wings were cold and tasted like if the cook was experimenting with condiments. The only thing we enjoyed waa the cold beers. Over $80 dollars and was not worth it. Again, this was my experience during my last visit. If I visit again it would be just to drink, the food gets two thumbs down.
Wings are great! Our favorites are the hot buffalo (it really is HOT though, you’ve been warned!) and the vampire wings. The fried pickles are hands down the best in Austin and the holy Mac is everything you could want from deep fried Mac and cheese.I’ve ordered the salad with crispy chicken twice and that’s the only item we’ve been disappointed in. They toss the chicken in so much sauce that the whole salad is soaked. I always get my dressing on the side— I can’t imagine what this salad would be like with the dressing tossed in... soup probably. This location is always busy and always has a wait. Service is usually mediocre but, given the volume of people there at any given time, I can’t blame them. With that said, sitting at the bar or at a table waited on by the bartender our service is usually a lot better.Be sure to join their pluckers club if you plan to come in more than once. It’s $20 but it much more than pays for itself! Free app every time. Bonus free app when you sign up. $5 or $10 off for every $100 you spend (you accumulate points, can’t remember if it’s 5 or 10 off). Plus a free meal for you and a significant other on your birthdays. Seriously one of the best membership programs you’ll find for a restaurant!
Pluckers in general is great. Just about any location is great to go to except this one. Dont get me wrong, food is awesome, but the service is so bad, that I can honestly say a team of trained monkeys would probably do a better job. I think a good place to start would be to fire all staff who are not cooks (again, the food is awesome) and fire the whole lot of them. Management too. If fact they have to go for allowing this crazy to occur in the first place. Nuff said.
They know me. I am a regular: 10 wing combo, all drums, 5 spicy ranch, 5 mango habanero. NO STYROFOAM. They will use the to go salad container upon request, but you have to call in the order. Website doesnt allow for special instructions. Oh, no ranch or blue cheese for me. I like the chutney for dipping.
Man... they are understaffed first off. But secondly there is no rhyme or reason to what they do. We tried to get a 12-15 person reservation at 7. Some of us showed up at 5 and offered to sit at the bar. Granted throughout this experience we saw open tables... when everyone shows up at 7 we get yelled at by management that they have a bigger party with a reservation coming. We were told no reservations... at no point did we stop ordering or drinking. We had servers double up tabs and slow service. Ridiculous.
Im big on service I was told that if you sit in the main area the service is good. We sat in the outdoor bar area and the server was trash. He couldnt even remember what he wrote down and the food runners didnt even know there tables they kept bringing out the wrong food. When I finally got my food it was good. TO TOP IT all the dude told me they wont charge me the $2 more for flat wings because they messed up so bad, I tried not to laugh So 2 stars for all of that mess. Still go check it out.
My family and I always she to go to this location and the service was okay but nothing to write home about. The food was always great and was served hot. Now the wait is always long which is understandable or would be if the service and food quality didnt take a dive. Last 3 time we went the food took about an hour from the time of ordering to get to us and it was cold. When we told the waiter the problem he looked as if I said something stupid. I wish they had better because we love going there but Im going to spend my money where someone actually earns it.
I wish I could give this location 0 stars. Came here on a Sunday afternoon so I wasnt surprised there was a wait. We were told 30 minute wait time. After 45 minutes the yelp app said it was our partys turn. We go to the counter to ask for our table (since the app told us it was ready....) they said they were waiting for a bus boy to clean our table so we expected to wait maybe a few minutes more.Nope - We waited another 20-30 minutes for someone to CLEAN A TABLE. Throughout that entire time there was NO staff to be found cleaning tables or even attempting to quickly seat guests. There seemed to be a manager on the floor who was simply chit chatting with coworkers instead of handling the situation. And the restaurant was not even that busy to begin with. We only had a party of 5 but got treated like it was a party of 25. After going to the counter a third time, we finally got our table. Waiter took forever for everything and was not attentive. The fries werent hot/warm. The ONLY thing that saved this experience is that the wings were good like always. Other than that this was a TERRIBLE eating experience.Do yourself a favor and go to the Round Rock or San Marcos locations - they seem to have a better idea on how to properly manage a busy afternoon.
I didn’t even know Pluckers had hamburgers but thank god I came here and ordered that. Lately, I’ve been a little burnt out by eating chicken, so I wanted to get a burger. I have never tasted something so well cooked and well put together as far as some restaurants go. Every star has been earned here. Great job, Pluckers! I would highly recommend this place, especially for a great burger!
Had a good time. We ordered extra sauce for our dry wings. But our waitress forgot. She disappeared for a while. Saw her tending other tables and bringing food out. Waiting some more while our wings got very cold. And it was cold inside. By the time she came to our table, she acted as if we needed something. Yes our sauce. Oh snap. We ordered our food to go. It was stone cold. We waited for almost 20 minutes for food and 10 minutes for our sauce. We tried to make the best out of our date night but Kayla ruined it for us. We had bad service but for the amount we paid here, it was ridiculous.
I had heard wonderful things about pluckers previously, but my first experience was not great. Extremely long wait which is understandable because they were busy, but once we were finally seated after 40 minutes of waiting, the server took forever to attend to us. Food took an extremely long time to come out and was not the greatest quality. Id stick to a buffalo wild wings or other wing place if youre just looking for wings, sports, and bar food.
I have a long time going to this location. But today was my last. I got an order of wings for me and one for my wife. My wifes plate had a hair. Went back to ask for a replacement, only to have the manager tell me that it would be impossible for one of tu he cooks to have done it. Basically saying I did it my self. Definitely not going back to this location
Food is always really great but the staff other than the waiters are never attentive and aren’t proactive about cleaning tables or attending to drink orders at the bar. Our party of four was told we would wait 30-45 minutes as the restaurant was full and there were a number of groups ahead of us. About an hour later, at least seven open tables were empty inside with waste and dirty plates waiting to be bussed. We requested an update on our wait time and the front staff said it would take at least 15 minutes to clean any tables. We were waiting by the front doors and overheard that the front staff began turning away groups of people coming in one hour before closing despite our party being the second to last group seated for the night.
After dining your establishment.....🤮🤮🤮🤮💩💩💩I got food poisoning last night and been suffering all day today. That chicken can go bad easily. From not being refrigerated properly to undercooking or just in a warmer too long.If the manager is reading this... you should manage your food products properly. Thanks.
Ordered food to go because of Covid, arrived right when the website said to pickup the food. Took a good while for someone to pick up the phone for me to notify them Im here. Called back 20 min later to get an ETA on when the food was coming out and turns out only 2 people are working the to-go orders during a pandemic?! Yea not sure what Management is thinking.....I dont recommend ordering takeout from here if you value your time
We really love Pluckers food and usually go to the location up North. Unfortunately, this location feels as though it is poorly managed. Mainly with the seating of guests. It seems that the host will put people on a wait no matter how many empty tables there are and there are about 10 staff members crowded around the front station at any given time. We were put on a wait immediately and stood next to an empty table in the front for 20 minutes, only to be seated at that same table. So ridiculous.😒 We observed this trend with each new table that came in and watched as the bussers moved at snail speed. Then a table would sit empty for another 30 minutes as new guests crowded the front and overflowed into seating areas. But I will say that our server was exceptional! She was friendly and quick to take care of us. The food itself is consistently delicious and thats what keeps us coming back. We will just be sure to head North next time!
The quality definitely went down after they revamped the look of the menu and increased their prices. They have decreased the size of their wings and their portion sizes. I love Pluckers food, but this shift in quality is really making it hard to want to keep coming.
Pluckers in general is good, but this location is pretty sad. The service is always extremely slow, even on the off chance that theyre not busy, and the last time we were able to get a table, the breading on our boneless wings was soggy as heck. We didnt send them back because we werent sure if we would ever get our meal back.Just now, we went and tried to get seated. The wait for 3 was 45 minutes to an hour because they had multiple large parties that were seated at 4-tops pushed together. There was a vast amount of empty floor space, so it seems like they would be able to accommodate more customers with additional tables, and they werent even seating people at the patio, which seemed strange. We ended up leaving disappointed and hungry... yet again.
If youre a wing lover, then look no further. Wonderful, hand-crafted sauces with perfectly cooked wings. A great variety of sauces will make it difficult to choose what to order.Open patio , great staff, and comfortable atmosphere. If youre a wing fan, this is a must!
Potato chips were super salty and stale. I liked the chicken but I recommend getting the sauce on the side as they put way too much on them. The service was ok but the place was very busy on Sunday. They play all the games so its a great place to watch your sports. Apps were pretty good and love the sweet tea. Experience was ok but I recommend not going here if you have a hard time hearing and wanna talk. Very loud!
Used to frequent here once a month or so. Now that we moved to Slaughter area, this location is the still the closest Pluckers for us. Last time we went they forgot to put in our order so we waited 1 hour for food. Now we just tried Curbside pickup during the COVID-19 lockdown and I put in order at 6 for 730 pickup. Food still wasnt ready at 8 and they said probably another 20 min. So my wife was sitting in the parking lot with 2 crying children for 30 min. Which is a shame, cuz I love their Hallelujah sauce so much....its just not worth risking going there anymore.
We love Pluckers! Wings are perfectly crispy with a large variety of flavors. The boneless are really just chicken tenders but they are nicely sized. Cant go wrong with any appetizer here. Only reason I cant give 5 stars is because sometimes the wait is amazingly long, the waitstaff is hit or miss, and it seems this location always has a looonger turnaround time for the food to come out. Still we love Pluckers and the club membership perks are also an added bonus.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED IN SERVICE OR DRINKS... 1st our waitress didnt bring our appetizer out and then our food finally came out after about 45 min fries were cold and hard pluckers is usually busy but this place was dead compared to its usual, probably due to the decline in customer service trashy restrooms and lack of alcohol in the drinks.😑😑😑 I dont think I will return to this location. Not to mention the waitress who neglected us had the nerve to come by and ask us if we are ready to take care of the check 🤣🤣🤣 nah you can wait for it just like we waited for cold food!!!
Pluckers is always one of my favorite places to visit for any occasion. The food is always great, the beer is ice cold, lots of TVs with multiple games to choose from. The staff has always been friendly and fast. I have an all around great experience with each visit.
Ive been a patron of Pluckers since the original original store. There was a time where you couldnt find anything but 5 star reviews, but those days are gone. The food has crept up in price yearly, while the quality has not. Once they began focusing on opening stores outside of the Austin area, inevitable given the popularity, Pluckers completely betrayed its roots and has adopted a totally corporate mindset, and you can tell in the lack of originality in the new stores. Now, it is basically the TGIFridays of chicken wings. Playing at being irreverent and unique, with bean counters as executives.
Its been a long time since we came to this location. Service was great and food was delicious. The points and challenges for points on the app still need work. Manager had to get involved to make sure I got my points because app wasnt registering them. No one knew if it took a 24 hour time period before it showed up. Mgr was really helpful so hopefully hell fix that problem.
I consider it still pretty early in the evening hours, but yet they ran out of certain sides from the kids menu... The only healthy sides they carry. I was ok with that.... But, what i wasnt ok with was that half of our food came out cold. I really hate cold food. From the time we sat to the time we got our food, it took an hour... And they werent even that busy. Our waiter NEVER checked on us after we were brought over our food, until it was time to pay. I had to reach out to another waiter to get a refill.
Have been here multiple times but have had more and more disappointing service EVERY time. I had heard trivia nights were slammed but a regular weeknight took 45 MINS to get a take-out order for two dishes with no sides whatsoever. 2 pieces of celery and 2 ranch dressing.Servers are always back in kitchen which you can see clearly if you sit on the outside bar, which ensures hardly any regards for service.Unfortunately, it seems like they concentrate on large groups and people ordering in house which will ensure bigger tips.Have seen eaten chicken bones fallen on kitchen floor and roaches roamly freely on floor, which is sticky enough to take off your shoes once you step on it.Way overrated place for low quality wings.
We make wings for people who know the difference: The difference between fresh and frozen; between hand crafted sauce recipes and something squeezed through an industrial tube; between layering on flavor instead of trying to cover it up. We use fresh breading on fresh chicken for a fresh, cooked-to-order meal. If you’re fine eating wings out of a cardboard boat, go for it – we think you deserve better. Give our wings a try. We’ve been developing our craft for over 20 years. If these aren’t the best wings you’ve ever had, let us know, because that’s what we’re trying to accomplish here at Pluckers. This is what Ive always come to expect from Pluckers, and what my experience has always been. So much so that I paid for the pluckers card, and I didnt regret that purchase. The customer experience last night really has me questioning if I made the right choice.I show up around 11pm, an hour before closing, with a craving for some delicious wings. I know it was late, but when you have urge for some of the best wings in Austin you have to follow it. Also, Ive never been let down by this location so I had no reason to believe my experience would be anything but amazing. We sit down order fried mushrooms, the app special blue cheese chips, a 32oz beer, and an order of 15 wings. The waitress seems some what attentive, and lets us know when our order arrives (around 11:30ish) that the blue cheese chips are going to take a little longer for some reason I cant recall. I ask for a water refill, and when it comes the cup is slammed down a little aggressively.I only see her twice after the food comes. First out is the magic mushrooms, which was delicious. Then the wings, and finally the blue cheese chips. When I started to dig into the wings I found six out of the15 were left to long in the fryer. This made the chicken wings dry, blackened in parts, extra crispy, and well over done. Around 11:45-ish she shows up and I mention what I found with the meal. She mumbles about getting a manager and I wait till well past 12am. I eventually flag her down and ask if the manager was still coming over. To which she rolls her eyes and states oh you still want them. Its now 12:15am and the Manager shows up with a slight attitude. She opens with You wanted to see a manager. No introduction, no empathetic opening, just a cold intro. I mention the wings, and that everything else was delicious. She then states Did you mention to server so we could correct it.As if its my fault the wings were over done, and I should have done what I could to make my experience better. Mind you it was 11:45ish pm and I wasnt going to make them drop another batch with the hope it turns out better.I stated that I did and the manager never came over. I then said Ill pay for this food, but all I wanted to do was bring it to the attention of the manager so it can be addressed with the staff.I didnt yell or get angry, but it made me feel as if I was bothering them for eating at the this location. So, in the abhorrent customer service and sheer lack of simple customer resolution I will not be bothering this location again. She did offer me a $10 Gift card, but It wasnt about getting something in return. It was about the very statement that pluckers placed on their Google page. The very statement that I quoted at the very beginning of this way too long story. Thank you for reading this.
The wings taste fine, but dont dare order them to-go. I dont know if its just this location, but EVERYTHING comes out cold every time, and we live literally across the street. Weve complained before but they never offer to remake or comp the order. The wait for to go orders always takes longer than the 20 minutes that they estimate on the phone, and the staff never knows whats going on. It also takes about 37 hours to get the beer you ordered. Its crowded, and people are pushy at the front. Weve stopped going. Its not worth it.
Such a fun place!! I went on a Thursday, Trivia Night. Great music, lots of energy and still appropriate for kids to join. I didnt want to wait so I sat at the bar.Food was delicious; I a 10 piece combo with dry rubs. Awesome server very quick and attentive despite of all the energy in the room. Will be returning soon!
They would not let me pay for my to go food before I received it. Why would I want to wait another few minutes while my food gets cold for them to go and run my card. When the customer asks to pay up front, I can’t think of a single reason to say no, unless they plan on giving the food away for free.
I have been here multiple times, over several months so this isnt just based on one off experience. To sum it up, these wings are overrated. The jalapeno poppers were really good, but the wings were just ok (those are the only two menu items we had). I had several different flavors (including hot buffalo and gold rush - I dont remember the others) and theyre not terrible, they just arent great. This place is always so busy with such a long wait its not worth it to go back here and deal with all of that for a mediocre product.
My waiter was supper great. He did smile. Some of the employees looked tired did not smile much . But we still got great service. I will come back cause I love plu kers and I love this location.. oh and the manger was on top of every one.. in a good way not a hectic way.. thanks Pluckers for making a great dinner night for me and my family
If there’s a con about Pluckers, it’s that they’re not in Seattle. One of the best things about Austin that I miss so dearly. Fried pickles like no other, paired with garlic Parmesan wings = true match made in heaven. Sweet potato waffle fries are also incredibly missed. NBA games are much more fun at Pluckers. Can get rowdy sometimes but that’s part of the whole experience. I’ll be back soon
I asked for a booth and they told me there was no booths available so I point out one booth that was empty and was told there was no server for that booth. Those hostesses need to go to a customer serves class to teach them all about service and customer skills because all 5 or 6 that were at the front lack those skills. This is the third time I go in and the employees are always rude or in a bad mood. And when you get that time of service your food is less enjoyable. Im never going to that place again.
Absolutely loved their food, but my boyfriend and I ended up with some vicious food poising. This was during the Superbowl, so maybe the chicken was rushed out undercooked? This was our first time here and it sucks that this was our experience because we really wanted to love it!
UPDATE: I gave it an extra two stars because our server, Ashley, was a rockstar, and the manager threw in free desserts also. He was very attentive to our table and made sure we were taken care of. They both really helped turn the situation around for us. Our food came out fast and fresh and we all left happy. Im sure well chalk this up to one of those one-time experiences and be back after a while.Weve been here before but its never been this bad. Today our party of 6 was told our wait would be 30-45 minutes. After 1h 15m of waiting, repeatedly asking when we would be seated, and told multiple times we were next we were finally seated. We were even told one of the reasons a party of 2 that arrived after us was seated in a 6 person booth before us was because the waiter was having an emotional time and could not work with a large party. 10 minutes after we sat we still had yet to be greeted by a server. A really nice lady that was not designated to our area came and took care of us because her manager made her. She was awesome, but was not wearing a name tag so I cant cite her name here. The only compensation we got for our wait time was a free appetizer sampler, which in my opinion is not sufficient for our troubles. If we would have known it was going to take this long we would have gone somewhere else. I wont be back to this Pluckers.
Never got seats after two hours. The manager told me I was 2 in line after my notification came up. I had 7 people then 2 more showed up. I waited 30 more minutes. And then the manager came back telling me that they were getting our table ready for 9. Never came back. After 2 and a half hours we didn’t get our seats.I think the manger should get fired. For not attending us customers waiting to eat for 2 and a half hours. I was patient and so were my friends and family. So we left. I’m very disappointed.
Not impressed. The so called cajun dry rub was so basic that it hardly had any taste to it. The ranch dressing was so watered down that it would run off of the food. The locals seem to like this place though. I guess they dont know any better. Customer service was good.
I have been to pretty much every pluckers in the area. I dont come to this one often but when I do the employees always treat me nicely. I have pretty regular items I get each time but being the rewards members I get to try new appetizers when they offer them. I have never been disappointed in anything I have gotten. The ranch is my favorite and I can never pass up a sweet tea or strawberry lemonade. I even get one to go! I always get a monster basket and take most of it home and even reheated its good! Thats rare when it comes to restaurant food. I will always stop at this location when I am in the area.

2022-06-06What a huge disappointment! First off, I payed extra to get the wings extra wet and I got extra dry. Wings were dry and bland as well😡. They use the cheapest to go containers available and still stacked the wings on top of each other separated by foil paper. The fries were cold, soggy and bland no seasoning whatsoever. This is not the pluckers that I remember. Not only was this not good but it was very expensive. Food quality does not match the price. Thank you for making it easy for me to not go there again. ✌️

2022-05-24I flew into Austin today for business and couldnt wait to visit Pluckers. I ordered 10 hot wings and the blue cheese chips. What I got was 10 dry wings and a handful of chips for $22. This is by far the worst Pluckers I have been to and I wont be going back to this location. Im in town for several weeks so it will be several visits to Hooters.I still cant get over selling a handful of potato chips. I dont know the price since receipts dont list what you actually purchased but I know they werent cheap.

2021-07-26Havent been here in a while but theyve updated their menu for the better. New sauces and rubs, and all the ones we tried were pretty good - Vampire Killer (favorite), Bakers Gold, spicy lemon pepper, spicy garlic parmesan, spicy ranch and spicy BBQ. Also had their stuffed jalapenos which were decent. They have TVs everywhere so a good spot to watch sports. Nice place to meet up with friends if youre in the mood for wings.

2021-10-27Been coming here for years! It can get busy but the staff always does a great job. Half and half BBQ/Hot with Mac n cheese for the win! Also try the psychedelic frog if you need to destress 🙂

2022-01-28Love the food. Although servers are friendly, the service is very slow (sat in the bar area) and server not very attentive.

2022-05-15Can find better “boneless wings” a lot of other places for much cheaper. Only gave me like 6 waffle fries… the two stars are coming from their fried pickles being decent. I don’t really feel like I need to come back.

2022-05-24Not mad, but won’t ever go back. Nothing like Pluckers used to be back in college. Parmesan on the salad was stale, the food took so long, half the order came out cold, table next to us got there much later than us and got their food at the same time, the wings were absolutely nothing to write home about and dried out and cold, there was so much trash on the floor, several tables had large chunks of food on them like they were bussed but not wiped off. Our waiter was very kind which is the only reason why we still tipped him very well. Based on this experience, this location should close.

2022-03-06The waiter started off nice. Then I called out that it had been 45 min to an hour before I got my food, the waiters demeanor changed. Not apologetic, but we got ignored more and helped even less. The place is nice and clean.
