I love the sausage at this place. They have my favorite breakfast blend sausage, and also have some other killer blends for grilling including potato sausage, pepper jack sausage, jalapeno cheddar sausage, and many many more. The staff is very friendly and the selection is fantastic. I personally think they are more friendly than Bolners and because of that I drive from the far North East side of San Antonio to Pruskis to do my shopping for meats (over 30 miles 1 way!).
Best meat I ever had, beef, pork, chicken, I dont care what you get, you wont be disappointed. Make sure to try the armadillo eggs, shrimp or chicken diablo, pinwheel, chupacabra leg, amazing. Let the friendly staff tell you all about all the different kinds of fresh sausage made daily and the beef jerky, turkey jerky, beef sticks, jalapeño cheese beef sticks they even make a beef jerky dip its awesome 😊
Very nice lady there. Treated us nicely And the guys at the meat market... But I cant say the same thing about the teenager casher .. She could use a better smile.. Just for future reference ...
I have been going here for years never had a problem until just now at 11am April 6th I ran into my first called out the lady at the register trying to steal $10 off me. walk back 3 times in the store and then it took them 30 minutes to figure it out how to turn the pump on very upset all they had was excuses (she is new we were busy the computer was messed up) no solution I left my name and number behind for Mr. Peruski himself to call me. I will keep updated.
Placed order on Thursday morning for Saturday morning pickup. Saturdaymorning the order isnt ready. Plus the t bones increased $4 in 2 weeks. Buyer beware. Cattle prices in South Texas havent increased. Price gouging at the very least. Was a frequent customer. Not anymore.
Pruskis is the secret ingredient for local barbecue kings. We have to go out of our way to Adkins (from Floresville), so we buy meat here a month at a time. But its worth the trouble. The smoked sausage is awesome..Their extra-lean stew meat is literally fat free. If youre looking to make groceries, theres a nice HEB a few miles down the road in La Vernia. But they dont sell anything to match Pruskis meat.
Sun.am. was waiting to open...lady with baby goes in..shops. Registers out.as she leaves i try to enter & am told we are not open yet. Both women replied she/ i work here. So i ask the time am told 8: 53. 7 min. To go. Weather bad .so i asked if i had to stand outside the door or go to my vehicle. Well we are closed. I am elderly and handicappedI didnt say anything. I had been waiting for 30 min. Prior to 1st shopper entering. So again the employees impact your business. Just needed meat .
Love this place!! Meat is always top quality. Cheeses and Jerky are the bomb!!! Everyone that works there is very friendly. I highly recommend this market.

We order our meat for our freezer here. We get it vacuum sealed and labeled and pick it up frozen. It is great for us! And the meat is fork tender
The Prepackaged Beef Jerky that they sell there and at other Texas businesses is the only jerky I have ever had with literally ZERO taste. It is tasteless!! I grew up making jerky in a sheet metal smokehouse with a fire and just rump roast cut into strips with salt and pepper and just hanging it up with a fire beneath (in the winter so it doesnt spoil before it is preserved) and then letting it hang until its dry. Even that, the most basic of jerky tasted better. How did they succeed in removing the taste of meat from beef jerky? It tastes as if they intentionally tried to remove the taste of meat from their jerky. It is astounding especially at ~5 dollars for 1.75 ounces! RIPOFF

A very nice and clean meat market with many delicious meat items; this is about the only place I purchase meat. On most days, this is where I get my lunch...the tacos, and other prepared food are so good and the service here is exceptional.

My wife and I love stopping here on our way through San Antonio and have always enjoyed their thick cut steaks, chicken diablo and the armadillo eggs are a must have!

Cool mom and pop meat market good variety of meat. You have to try the armadillo eggs and the bake potato salad.
Their food is always fresh and the employees are always friendly. I travel a little extra just to go there and have a great experience!

I ordered meat for a gathering from them they comfirmed yesterday that they have it and I go in today and they sold it and it wont be at least another week before I can get any more of it so I had to go over to Coopers Meat Market to get what they said they have for me. I wont be going back there anymore.

2018-11-18Came here about a month ago to buy meat in bulk for our deep freezer.... I have got to tell ya, it is amazing quality!!! The bacon is to die for, steaks are very good quality and the ground beef is so good that I hardly even season it!!! I previously bought meat on my military installation because prices were good... but pruskis has them beat in quality AND price. I will forever be a return customer... oh and did I mention how friendly the employees are!!

2019-02-16This was our go to place for top quality steaks but not anymore. I purchased certified Angus Beef for a special Valentines dinner for my family and in-laws. They were grilled to medium. They were chewy, had gristle running through them. I was embarrassed and dissappointed. I spent a pretty penny on the steaks too. Never going back......

2019-12-19This was our second trip, and it’s been lovely both times! A great selection of beautiful meats, and veggies including the pre-packaged seasoned selections, as well as other premade delights ( wrapped and stuffed chicken and beef, quail eggs, stuffed jalapeños etc ) as well as that much needed cooler in multiple sizes, for when you end up buying just a liiiittle too much! Love Pruskis, see ya in six weeks!

2019-10-08It took a bit to find..The staff is very friendly 1st thing I noticed...about 60% meat market the rest a gas station,Not a bad thing .I got there 20 min before closing.The guys at the meat counter very helpful. They showed me there meats .The Ribeye and Tomahawk looked good. I got 3 racks of Pork baby back ribs .$45 for 11.2lbs.Now they are meaty and tender to the touch and cooked up well.Customers are regulars and like there meats.The lady at the frount told me they cook Ham ,Turkey ,ect.but when she said Pies and she makes em I Wana try and will..Ill be back.... Well I came back for Some Ribeyes and at $16 a pound for CAB I was hoping for a tasty steak and we did not get that.Very flavorless and not tender when cooked them medium, Just 3 bad steaks.The usda Choice steak at HEB at $10 a lb fell apart and had great flavor. I will not be back for ribeyes ever..

2016-09-13Of All the places I have bought my barbecue supplies, Pruskis is the best! they make their own brand of sausage, ALL KINDS! They always have the freshest cuts and the best shrimp Kabobs wrapped in bacon. I dont review a lot but I had to for this place because every time I go they have something new to try. I send everyone that way.

2017-02-26Awesome little butcher shop. Great cuts of beef, pork, pre-made bacon wrapped shrimp, and all kinds of great stuff. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Its a little pricey but its worth it for the quality.
