Shower does not work in room 220... Plug cover is gone off the wall so if you have a child and they stick their finger in there they definitely will get shocked... that plug cover is right next to the bed! If you are 6 foot or over it is a long ways to sit down to the top of the commode!! That commode is for little people only!! However the morning desk clerk and Hostess for breakfast was marvelous the food was good coffee very weak! So if you dont mind those conditions get a room there!
Stayed for 4 nights , not one time did they come to clean room . The fridge stunk bad. Made a complaint after first night and they didnβt take care of issue. Had to ask for more toilet paper. When complained when checked out. Never apologized about my bad stay. Stay away they are rude staff and doesnβt care about there guests !!!!!!
This hotel was dirty. There was lots of hair in the shower area, with dead crickets all over the bathroom. The bead sheets were clean, but the towels were stained gross. The floor had what I hoped was dog food scattered about. Location was the best part of the stay. I would not stay there again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone else.
Was a great stay. Talk to a nice young man name Vincent at the front desk. I am traveling all over the US since July 4th and he was the nicest front desk so far. He also has some really pretty puppies. the room was comfortable and i enjoyed the rest. Was quite other then the highway but also was not very many people saying that night. overall it was a nice stay and glad I stopped here.
The good parts about my stay were that the staff was friendly and the hotel was in a great location. The bad parts were that the room needed to be updated or at least painted. The toilet was not attached to the floor, the mirrors were dirty, the bathroom door had stains on it, the baseboards had not been cleaned in a long time, dust on top of everything, and some kind of gunk was on the ceiling above the bed.
Nothing wrong with the motel itself. Front desk staff were great. Housekeeping not so much. We arrived to 1/4 roll of toilet paper and 2 towels for a room for 4 people. Was woke up at 8 to housekeeping knocking on the door after traveling and arriving late the night before. Put the so not disturb sign on and they were knocking again at 9. Please wait until I check out! Especially since you didnt so much care the room was stocked the night before!
Iβll start by saying the bed was fairly comfortable. That was the only positive thing. For $120, we expected a lot more. This shouldβve been more in the $60 range. The black hair in the shower and the roach on the wall is where I draw the line. Plenty of other complaints, but thatβll give you an idea.
It was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed at. The bathtub was rusted and the grout around the safety bar was black and moldy. There were several black hairs floating in the tub and paint was chipping off the walls in the bathroom. The tub had been relglazed and was pealing. I will never stay at this place again.
That is not a current/correct picture of the location on East Overland Trail in Abilene. Some guest(s) trashed the pool before we had a chance to use it. It was closed indefinitely. It was the reason we canceled our reservation at another hotel because their pool was being renovated. The water in the faucets have a foul smell. I had to kill a couple roaches and spiders. Besides all of that, the desk attendant, Aiden, was mannerable and patient. The complimentary breakfast was good.
Disturbingly dirty, stinky, and just upsetting. The room reeks of old stale cigarette smoke. Dead cricket on the bed, filthy fridge, paint/finish peeling off of the bathtub, ants in the bathroom/tub, layer of dust and crumbs under microwave, etc. Use caution if you decide to stay here. I would inspect the room BEFORE you check in or better yet, stay elsewhere.
Just dont! Our room, 115, had a terrible odor and further inside we found out why, there was dog poop in the floor and the room had not been cleaned. There was hair in the tub and on the counter. And to make it worse, I was supposed to be getting a refund but ended up with two $132 hold on my credit card on a holiday weekend at 730 pm. I have never been more disappointed in a Choice hotel.
We are Choice Members and our stay was September 29, 2020.The front desk staff and the breakfast staff were great! They certainly deserve a 5 star rating. The food was good. The bed and other furnishings good as well. However, the room clearly HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED before our arrival. It appeared cleaned at the first glance with fresh towels and a made-up bed. We were very tired from our long day of travel and didnt notice the filthiness until we pulled back the covers and saw that the sheets & pillow cases were soiled and wrinkled from the previous guests. Then we noticed that the floor had not been vacuumed or spots cleaned up. The desk chair was soiled and had items from previous guests on it. The bathroom was dirty and there were hairs from the previous guests all over the shower walls and floor and their items left in the shower. (Shame on the Housekeeping staff that did such a lame job of cleaning. You clearly did not do your job correctly on room 220.)With covid 19 still a concern, were wondering what precautions are being taken let alone housekeeping cleaning the rooms properly. The hotel was full, it was late, and we we were ready for bed. So we turned the sheet inside out and used pillows that looked like they had not been slept on and tried to get a good night sleep. Housekeeping dropped the ball on this room. We will definitely not stay here again and will seriously consider before we stay at another Quality Inn. On this two-week trip, this is also the most expensive hotel we stayed at with a huge charge for our little 10 lb dog that is much cleaner than the room was.We are extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with this hotel.
We stayed 4 days, rooms were decent for the price and breakfast ok. Cleaning crew could do better. Last morning of our stay we awoke to bedbugs on the comforter. My 7 year old daughter had a huge cluster of bites on her thigh. Sent pictures to hotel management, they refunded only one nights stay and sent it to the wrong persons card(sent to our friends card in the room next door), not even to me. Our king bed had a major slope to the middle, and dog hair all over it. There were silver fish in the bathroom and our friends one room over had blood spots on their bedsheets (typical of bedbugs) as his profession is pest control, it was brushed off as rust stains from the laundry machines by the employee. They also found baby cockroaches in their bathroom sink/coffee area. Our coffee machine just looked gross inside with old water from God knows when. Given the chance to stay here again, we will pass.
Two stars for the old, tired facility which really needs some cosmetic surgery. However, Five Stars for front desk staffer, Aidan, who worked so hard to get the electronic lock working so we could get in our room. With no maintenance staff on-site (due to the late hour) he persevered in replacing batteries and reprogramming the lock (which took several tries).
We didnβt even stay the night the room was so bad. There was mold in the shower, dirt on every surface. We cloroxed every surface and still couldnβt get it clean. They even gave us dirty towels. The last straw was my sister coming out of the bathroom crying because it was so disgusting.
The staff was kind and courteous. The room was good except for the bathroom. The sidewalk was dirty. Trash and litter were all up and down the sidewalk. There were spots and stains all over it that could be removed with soap and water. I informed the staff when I went to breakfast there was a pizza laying on the sidewalk. Someone went to pick it up but did not pick up any of the rest of the trash. We stay at Quality because it is usually a quality experience especially for what we have to pay. This time was not really the case. My kids wanted to swim after a long day in the car, but the pool was green.
The front desk employees are very kind and considerate. The hotel room itself is disgusting. The rooms are outdated, the air conditioner doesnt work well, the smell is so bad they use plug in air fresheners and the floor is constantly sticky. We considered taking a loss and going across the street but were unable. Dont stay here. Large price for an awful experience
I loved staying here the rooms where very nice I did my own cleaning now they can do better on that. I enjoyed the breakfast every morning the waffles are wonderful.. They have a front desk clerk that works in the evening at times and overnight she needs to learn how to keep her personal business at home and not bring it to work with her are her girlfriend needs to learn work ethics. .
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us find the local tourist spots and had great suggestions. The hotel is located in a good area with a lot of resturants and stores. It felt safe even though its an older design with the doors on the outside of the building. The rooms seemed to be recently remodeled and were clean and the beds comfortable. The sheets and towels were all good and room was decorated in a western theme for the area. They had a small frig and microwave also. The bathroom could have been better if they would replace the caulking in the tub. The breakfast was also good with eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, cereal, muffins etc. The breakfast lady kept it stocked and clean and also was very nice and helpful. I would give it a great review except for the tub. A nice stay with great service!
I received a call from a someone that apologized and could only offer 2000 points. Is that even a free night in points? I was charged $124 for this nasty room and the price posted online was $105. Getting poked on the price wouldnt have been bad if my room wasnt so dirty. It was a last minute booking because we were too tired to drive. I shouldve slept in my truck.
We are fans of Quality Inns and always try to stay there (as long as a pet is allowed). This one had great beds and delicious hot breakfast (with an attendant who made sure we had a good experience). However, we couldnt get the shower to work, and there was no stopper to allow us a tub bath instead. Turns out the front desk should have shown us a picture that explains how to work the shower. The new faucet is very different and how to work it is not at all obvious. Also the bathroom needs updating. I feel the price was $15-20 too high for the condition. Otherwise, a very nice stay.
For some reason on the night we were here the whole city was booked up. It wasnβt our first choice but it was very nice. Everything felt clean, we did not use the kitchen appliances though. There was a couch in our room that made a great place to sit and read. The pool was open even at the end of September witch I loved because I got to work out. The staff was friendly and the area felt safe.
The hotel in general was really nice. Clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and ready to help in any way they could. However, the room was not up to snuff. Beware of damp and sticky carpeting, and appliances that may not be in good working order. Otherwise, it was a very nice place to stay.
The room was comfortable and nice and cool. Bed and pillows were perfect! Wifi and cable worked great. The breakfast was great and a full breakfast! We stayed a week and we never had a problem. The manager Nicole was amazing and helped us with anything we needed and was so nice! There was a housekeeper Renee and she was so wonderful, always making sure we had anything we needed. The pool was great as well! The price was at a great rate! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice peaceful vacation or for business!
Staff was welcoming and responded to our concerns. The room was generally clean, but sheets/bedding werenβt clean. Requested new sheets, which we had to pick up at the front desk. We did arrive later in the evening, so maybe housekeeping wasnβt on duty at that time. The second set of sheets were so worn, you could see through them. Be sure to bring earplugs since the place is right off the highway. Ice machine didnβt work. Breakfast was typical of a free hotel buffet style breakfast: eggs-ish, sausage, waffles, yogurt, fruit, cereal, etc. I thought it was overpriced for a motel style accommodation. We stayed in Fredericksburg a few days later, and for the same price, we got a brand new, spotless studio apt. In a cute little cottage a few blocks off Main Street.
The staff were accomodating, pleasant, and helpful. We had adjoining rooms which made our trip very comfortable. We all got a good nights sleep on the beds, they were really comfortable. We got a laugh from the bathroom trim along the floor. It was stapled to the wall. The breakfast that was provided was pretty good, much better than we expected. Good variety of foods. Overall a wonderful experience.
Road noise was so loud we were kept awake all night. Bathroom was large room but no counter space. Door would not latch unless slammed hard. Not enough parking spaces. While we should have been able to park directly in front of our room making it easy for my husband to get in we had to park a long ways away.
Its very accessible from the highway and you can hear sounds from the road. At night, it dies down though . The breakfast, for the room rate we got, was very impressive. They served fresh fruits (apple, bananas & oranges), hot food (eggs, biscuits & burger), coffee (decaf & regular), bagels, waffles, apple & orange juices. The breakfast staff was very nice as well as the front desk staff. The general manager was very friendly and accommodating. The downside was - the room we stayed in was not that clean though. Theres a little smell in the room. Its livable for an overnight stay.
This is a good hotel at a reasonable price. This is my 3rd time staying at this location. My room was clean, well lit & spacious. There were a couple of minor issues, but nothing major. The toilet kept running. The breakfast was good. They also have a outside pool & a inside fitness center. The only problem I had was with house keeping. I told the front desk I needed a late check out (12:30pm) but house keeping knocked on the door at 11 am, and proceeded to let them selves in. I hope this review helps. Till next time stay Frosty.FNHUSA57
Great location for the Western Heritage Festival. Modern room styles. Very friendly staff. Nice complementary breakfast to get the day started. And cookies anytime you go in the lobby! Was a nice surprise to see an βoutside room entranceβ hotel offering modern and higher quality services. Felt safe and parking was well lit. I would definitely stay here again. The price was great.
Staff was very polite and efficient. Breakfast was really good (my kids loved the waffle maker) and the coffee was way better than most hotels. Beds were very comfy and we actuallu had plenty of pillows! Only con was that the bathroom didnt seem super clean and was a little crowded.
This hotel is older but very well kept. The bed is comfortable and the sheets smooth. We slept very well. I need and AD accessible room and that is where the older hotel becomes the better choice. Some newer ones leave off some very important features for those of us with a few challenges. I would update the shower but otherwise it was great. The room we had is on the I-20 service road. But the blower on the AC unit covered all the traffic noise. The breakfast bar is small but beautifully presented and very tasty. This will be our first choice when we visit Abilene again.
The staff was accommodating and the price was fair. It was an older hotel but fairly clean. Our first room had a very strong cigarette smell and one of the staff members often went outside to have a cigarette. After complaining about the cigarette smell they happily gave us another room which was fine.
I called to let them know we would be very late checking in, very helpful. Room clean, no weird smells, bathroom clean-toilet seemed to run excessively, but no issues. Breakfast was good. The employees were very helpful and nice, greeting everyone with a Good Morning. Have booked another night stay.
The hotel is well located, the facilities are so clean, the rooms are of a good size, the breakfast is healthy and plentiful, the staff in the morning is attentive and helpful. We recommend improving the personal attention of the staff during the afternoon / evening, in our room there was no telephone and the TV did not work, the weather was cold that afternoon and I had to leave the room to go to the lobby and ask for help, the woman who assisted me did not bring uniform and was not very friendly, it seems that they had not checked that the room had a telephone and that the equipment was working, which does not speak well of the staff. They never installed the phone or apologized.
This fairly new/refurbished property offers good value and a pleasant stay. Our handicapped provisioned room was well designed and comfortable with a very good king bed. Breakfast bar was well stocked with many different offerings to suit any taste. Staff people were very courteous and helpful.
I stayed here with my nieces & nephew after driving halfway across the state of Texas and I couldnt drive anymore. We booked online at a great rate and were pleasantly surprised by our experience! The desk agent handled our check-in efficiently and was very polite and helpful, she made sure to recommend the breakfast in the morning, and was as chipper and speedy helping me check-out early the next day. Our room was modern, clean, and had plenty of towels for the 4 of us who stayed in a double queen non-smoking room. Great stay and loved the price!
We stayed here in town while attending some events at the expo center. The hotel is very close and has a trailer parking for our truck. The rooms are clean with a polite staff. The hot breakfast was better than other hotels I have stayed in the past. Overall great experience here. Will be back in June!
Since we were limited to places that would take our dog we did not know what to expect but the rooms were very clean, no pet smells and very pleasent. We were only there for one night for a break on our way to Ruidoso and it was perfect. Breakfast the next morning was very good with lots of selections.
It was very clean when we first checked in. House keeping made sure we had enough towels and didnβt need anything cleaned almost daily. Everyone at the front desk was so polite, and very friendly. The woman who was running the breakfast station was very polite and was a joy! Everyone who worked there made our stay so easy and comfortable! Canβt wait to visit again next year!!
Table leg was completely broken, but they had darn good cookies. I really enjoyed the breakfast that was offered, particularly the biscuits and gravy. The motel is rather small, so breakfast can get busy. It is certainly a quiet and quaint place to stay when visiting Abilene
I traveled from Oklahoma and drove as far as I could. I pulled into Abliene Texas and had a few options available to me. Since I stay at a Choice Hotel regularly I decided to stay at the Quality Inn. Check in was quick and the night clerk was very cordial and informative. I checked out early and the morning clerk was just as cordial. She offered me breakfast but I was anxious to get back on the road. I would recommend staying here the people were very accommodating and it was quiet. I was very impressed with the bed more importantly the pillows, they were the best I have slept on in quite some time even better that home.
We were travelling back home from a funeral in New Mexico and decided to stay the night at this hotel and go the rest of the way the next morning. We had made a reservation and got into our room without problems. The issues arose when we got in. The room was neat, clean, and well equipped. The problem was that it smelled strongly of pet urine. I used spray room deodorizer several different times but it helped very little. I suspect the smell was in the carpet and it will probably take new carpet and padding to get rid of it. Problem number two was that there were quite a few people sitting out on the walkway smoking an drinking beer. Three or four of them were gathered right outside our door. They had brought chairs out of their rooms and were gathered in small groups all over our side of the hotel smoking and drinking beer. I never saw the other side so I dont know about that. I like a beer now and then too but I would drink it outside of my own room, or better yet, inside my room and not outside someone elses door! It gave us a bit of anxiety about security plus the smell of smoke through the A/C unit. I would not stay at this particular hotel again.
The reviews talked of all the positives, but there were some negatives worth discussing. My two problems were first the room was clean and neat, but the bathtub and area needed to be remolded. The tub we moldy enough that my wife would not take a bath. Second was the constant noise from Interstate 20. The trucks and car noise seemed to funnel into our room. We both awoke around 3 a.m., and left early from lack of a quiet sleep.
We were traveling on I-20 when we hit icy roads and very slow travel. We were able to get on line and make reservations. When we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed and our room was ready. The staff was very helpful as we needed a crib for our young Daughter and they had one waiting for us in the room. It was a very relaxing rest after fighting the ice and snow for hours.
Over all, the room was very nice. there are, however some cosmetic things that should get attention. The sink has a series of cracks in the bottom around the drain that have turned black over the years. Very unsightly. The carpet has a couple of deep stains in it. One in front of the toilet/shower area and the other in front of the refrigerator. There is also an area beside the tub where apparently water has saturated the wall and the paint is flaking loose and somewhat soft behind it.Otherwise, I was very pleased with my room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was presented well and the attendant was careful to keep everything refreshed.
I probably wouldnt stay here again. Not overly impressed. The room rates and the staff at the front desk were the best part of the hotel. Overall, it was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I just prefer to stay elsewhere. I would give it a 5 our of 10 - 1 being lowest / 10 being highest. Ive seen worse, but Ive stayed in much better.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! PAY THE EXTRA MONEY AND GO TO THE OTHER HOTEL NEXT TO IT.On 5/27/16 we checked into this hotel for two nights. Stayed in room 212 with no issues. The staff was extremely friendly during our stay. We decided to stay another night to keep from making a long drive. During this time the area experienced a bad storm. We were originally put in room 129. As soon as we opened the door we were met with a very offensive odor. The carpet had a tear at the door entrance and duct tape was put offer it as a βrepairβ. I touched the carpet in front of the door and it was soaking wet with water. We immediately called the receptionist that was on duty for the night (I canβt remember her name but she was very helpful). She quickly relocated us to the room right next to us. It didnβt smell but it still had water damage. We then moved again to our 3rd room for the night to room 210 since it was on the second floor. In this room we had a drying towel that looked as if it had old blood stains and the knob for the hot water in the shower was broken. It looked as if someone just screwed the knob back on. We called the receptionist working the night shift to tell her about the condition of the room. She then moved us to our 4th room for that night and gave us one room key. We asked to get a refund or a night for free. She told us nothing could be done before the manager arrived. In or 4th room at least the shower worked and there were no blood stains but there were dead roaches on the window seal by the a/c unit. On 5/28/16 we checked out and went to the front desk to speak with Paul, the hotel manager. The manager told us that we could not get a refund because we were put into a room that we could at least sleep in then gave us a $20 discount. This is unacceptable and by far the worst experience we have ever had with the choice hotels chain. First we were booked into 2 rooms that had water damaged, then moved to a room that we couldnβt shower in, then we were moved into a room where we slept with dead roaches all in one day. We will NOT be staying in this hotel again or next visit to Abilene. And if youβre looking for the manager heβs the one wearing a baseball cap and blue jeans. Youβll be pulling teeth just to talk to him.
The pictures on the website make it look much nicer than it is. The staff were nice and friendly. Key did not work returning late at night one night....but they quickly resolved it. Biggest complaint was that the room smelled horrible. It was a non smoking room....but it smelled like smoke. When I got home my suitcase and clothing all smelled like the room. I couldnt hardly sleep the first night from the smell. It is an older hotel....can deal with that....and was clean....but the odor was just almost unbearable.
Stayed here to meet family from Lubbock. Staff went the extra mile for us to have adjoining rooms. Room was very clean and breakfast was good. The only problem we had was a slow draining shower. Notifed the front desk and they were there to fix it in about 5 minutes. Truly outstanding customer service. You can tell the staff takes a lot of pride in there job. Definitely will be staying here next time were in Abilene.
Great accommodations at a reasonable price. Easy check in/out. Tasty breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean inside and out. Comfortable bed made it easy to rest. Hot water shower all hours.Only issue was hard to find entrance to hotel as no directional signs off interstate (hotel entrance is on one way street). GPS or printed map a must.
$65 for what was supposed to be a single bed room. Our room had two broken lights and two queen size beds. Went back up to the front and they traded it for a single king size room. No extra charge so that was nice. However when I got up neither of the keys with open the door. Went back down THREE times with THREE separate sets of keys it wouldnt open the door. They eventually had to come up here and open it for us. Nice people, nice hotel, not the greatest service. Adding a star cause the breakfast was great. Too many things to choose from. Omelette and sausage stick out.
Great Location, Very Quiet, Beautiful Atmosphere, Awesome Breakfast. If you are traveling to Abilene please give them the opportunity to book your stay. You will not be disappointed. Everything works in the room. Very clean linen and appearance. The breakfast is very hot and good. Parking was not a problem.
The hotel room was clean. But had lots of cracks in the sink. Swim pool outside with nice but no hot tub. Breakfast ended early youre traveling along ways and you actually want to sleep in a little bit and and go for breakfast at 10 oclock the breakfast is already over. They should serve till 11 but the woman was nice and microwaved frozen egg And piece of ham and one toast. I thought that was very nice of them. Also there were children playing out in the breezeway till 1130pm I called the office told the lady and they took care of the problem right away
DIRTY AND NASTY!!! Friendly fella at check in. Walked into room and found dirty beds. Dirty and stains pillows. Shower had curly hair in the bottom. Toilet had dryed yellow urine on the seat and rim. Went back to the front desk and the clerk politely stated he couldnβt give us a refund and I need to speak with the manager. I called and left a message for the manager twice with no return phone call. I donβt recommend this particular Quality Inn.
This Hotel is worth the money.. the staff is awesome.. rooms are very clean.. only drawback we have had is people taking up all the parking spaces!! Just flat inconsiderate!!! And The breakfast is not good ..like it used to be.. food taste old!! Maybe you need to look into a new cook.... oh yeah.. there is no ice machine.. that sucks..
We always stay at Choice hotels when traveling and this Quality Inn at Abilene met and exceeded our expectations! It was very clean and comfortable with an exceptionally good breakfast. The only downside was getting to it. When I put the address given to me on the website when I booked it into the GPS it was wrong and took us all over town before we finally just stopped where we saw A Quality sign and sure enough that was it (we had passed it 3 times trying to follow the GPS directions). The girl at the desk apologized and said it was due to construction in the area.
Room was updated and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Was not able to eat breakfast due to medical appointment, but upon check-in, clerk informed us of next morning menu. Clerk stated that on top of standard continental breakfast that they would serve a Mexican style breakfast which she described as a breakfast burrito plus potatoes, onions, peppers, etc... We checked out at 6:00a.m. (when breakfast was first served) and we were amazed at the number of clients lining up for breakfast! It appeared that breakfast is first class and top priority! Highly recommend!
The hotel is adequate but nothing spectacular. The main surprise was that the rooms are not made up daily, even to empty the trash. This was a new low for us in hotel stays. Bath towels thin and scratchy. Commode was not fastened securely to the floor. Light on desk lamp burned out. Door had to be slammed to get it to shut.
We chose this place because its pet friendly & good price. The staff is friendly and helpful the Room was spacious and comfortable the breakfast was done well.My major complaint was the exit off the I20 West was very confusing and we ended up overshooting for miles and having turn back feeling very confused. Make sure you take a good look at Google maps or call the hotel for the best directions.
I have stayed here twice, I will not stay here again and would not recommend anyone to stay here. Both times the rooms were filthy, hair all over the bathrooms, trash on the floor, old food in the refrigerator, stuff splattered in the rooms, cigarette ash in the sink, didnt have the coffee cups in the room. Definitely not worth the money you pay.
The overall appearance of the room was good. I suggest cleaning the carpets more often, perhaps a deep shampoo cleaning. I normally walk around a hotel room in my white socks without them turning filthy black. I was very disgusted at how filthy the carpet was. I have visited Abilene many times, and have stayed in your neighbors rooms (Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express) and my socks may turn a little dirty, but never a thick, oily black color.
Worst hotel experience Ive ever had. Hotel was alright as far as cleanliness but worst staff Ive ever encountered. They accidentally overcharged my credit card 4 times and put my account in the negative. I waited 4 days for the money to go back in my account and it never did. I ended up having to dispute the charges through my bank to get the money back. And also instead of charging your card when you first check in they wait till you check out and charge your card for the whole amount of however long youve stayed. I stayed here for 30 days while working out of town and when I checked out at the end of the 30 days they charged my card for the full 30 days amount which was $2200. Overall worst experience Ive ever had with a choice hotels will NEVER be returning here or giving anymore business to quality inn or their partners.
This place needs to go a little farther with updating the rooms. The faucet leaked, molding in the bathroom was re-stapled to the water damaged wall, and the sink was straight out of the 70s, shell shaped. Worst of all was the bed sheets that had hair all over them. The one redeeming quality was that breakfast was decent.
This Quality Inn is right off the freeway, so it is easy to get in and out of. It is fairly quiet, though even with traffic noise. You can set the A/C to constant fan and not notice the traffic at all. There are several dining options nearby. Everyone is friendly and helpful- the staff is a definite asset. Comfortable beds and a lot of space to relax in the room.
This is the worst hotel we ever stayed at. They do not practice due diligence when checking customers in and the manager was very rude. He came to our room after two others knocked and he banged on our door demanding to know how we got in the room. I told him to check the registration and I called a few minutes later to give him our registration confirmation number. He said he found the registration and that there had been a mix up and blamed the ladies who checked us in. He offered no apology at any time for disturbing us and accusing us of not registering for the room. My husband is not very well and this disturbed our sleep for the rest of the night making us very upset at how we were treated.
This quality inn was a perfect spot for me to stay after 9 hours on the road. Have stayed here a few times. Room was extremely clean, and quiet. Price was good. Location was good too. Only thing, when you leave hotel getting back to it is a little tricky. Frontage road in front of hotel is a one-way street so you have to navigate a little to get back.
Due to a corporate marketing decision to retain the Interstate 20 address in the online system even though the correct address is not on I-20, the GPS maps cannot find the hotel. This is a problem that should not exist, simply enter the correct street address in the online system. Over all the stay at this hotel was very nice, the room was large and clean as was the bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
This was a GREAT hotel. I was so surprised at the very modern bedding and furniture, super clean! It really seems like it was underpriced for the room! I did not expect the accommodations and staff to be over the top. I would recommend seeking out this hotel in Abilene if you are traveling in the area!
Wonderful service. Just wish that we could have stayed and enjoyed our beautiful accommodations! Within 2 hrs of check in my wife became violently ill and had to be rushed to the ER, the staff of this hotel could not have been more helpful in calling the ambulance, and also checking on the status of my wife while awaiting the EMS. Kuddos to this hotel and staff, and Quality Inn is the best!!!
1. Clean2. Did not notice any maintenance issues.3. Breakfast reminded me of field feeding when I was on active duty; solid hot food that made you feel like you were ready to handle anything that came your way. However, shoulda had fried potatoes to go with the creamed beef gravy, not just biscuits.
Would not advise you to stay there, the carpet in the room was filthy, the bathroom not cleaned, the tub had hair in it and the toilet lid was dirty. The sink looked very old and half way dirty. Had to park way away from our room on the other side and as women traveling alone it was creepy walking past a bunch of men visiting and having to carry suitcases up two steps.
We were very pleased with our stay at the quality inn. I would say that the chair in the room was not comfortable, maybe a recliner or a footrest would have worked better. I have back trouble and I cant stay in the bed for more than a couple hours at a time. I tried to sleep in the chair but was not successful. This was the main problem that I had.All other services and amnenities were satisfactory. Nothing else to add
We found this quality inn to be a gem of a hotel. Very clean rooms and ice cold ac. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Good location with several restaurants and bars which made dinner easy. Morning hot breakfast was free unlike other hotels you have to pay. Will come back again.
If you have smoke free rooms, then your customers truly expect them to be smoke free. On two different stays our room reeked of smoke. The staff was kind during our most recent stay, and apologized and did move us to another room. The previous time we were told that the person in the room next to us must have been smoking. We were not offered to move rooms. It was ACU homecoming weekend and all were booked.
Overall hotel is good. The bathrooms are outdated but everything worked. Checked in and out quickly. The breakfast was a surprise as I was expecting continental breakfast instead of a hot breakfast. Seating capacity is limited as there are about 4 tables with 4 chairs to a table. Breakfast was typical for any hot breakfast, waffle, sausage, eggs.
This is the 2nd stay in a little over a month where there is an HBO guide in the room, but no HBO channel(s) on the TV. Last stay a little over a month ago I reported it to the desk clerk at checkout. The hotel info binder in the room states that HBO is on a certain channel (with a 2 digit extension) but that particular channel doesnt appear on the TV when changing channels. Availability of breakfast items was a little on the sparse side - lady behind counter was also having to run the front desk. I heard her tell another employee (who was just about to leave after her shift ended) someone didnt show up for work and she was having to do it all. Nice to let customers know the staff status for the morning and what they thought of them!
First impressions are everything. That being said, why would a hotel have a receptionist with Tatoos all over their body and a stud in her lip and eyelid? If this is a professional establishment-at least have a somewhat professional appearance. Additionally, greet the guest that has achieved a certain Choice Hotel level with respect. I will not stay at this facility again. This review is not without thought, I have waited and given consideration to my response. Good Luck Abilene-you are going too need it.
We stayed in Abilene for 2 days and stayed at the Quality Inn hotel off of I[-20. It is near a Walmart Shopping center. The hotel was clean but if you stay on the side facing the West, be warned.............the metal doors get very HOT!!! Overall a good hotel. Courteous breakfast staff that provide a good, hearty breakfast.
Very nice accomodations. Guest rooms have refreigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows. The only issue that I had was while outside in the evening trying to get things straightened out in my car did I keep being bothered by a male guest thst was also stating there. Continental breakfast. I would stay here again. Hotel easily accessible from a main road. Wifi passwod provided. Can access room from outside.
Its an old facility hotel. Dont expect too much on the facility. Mangers are always friendly. And I got a free upgrade on the room for my diamond title. Lets talk back about the ants. The ants are really good at biting! I can still feel the itch here in my right foot after 4 days. The room is on 1st floor and ants can get in without any problem. If you dont like ants, keep away leaving any candy on the floor. I AM NOT BLAMING QUALITY INN for these ants. Actually in Australia you would not surprised if a python is hanging in your floor. Not kidding LOL. Im sorry to have take the territory from ants. This place may be there home for the past. The ants will not climb to bed sheet. So, Dont be afraid. Pick the 2nd floor rooms if you are afraid.
We stayed at the Quality Inn Abilene for one night on a leisure trip. The beds were comfortable, there was no noise from other guests, there was a fitness center which I appreciated, a breakfast with lots of protein (which I also appreciated) and the showers were warm with lots of warm water. And coffee. I had a bunch of coffee.
The house keeping staff needs to learn how to read and to not rush just got get done and leave for the day. The hotel was mediocre at best, but the house keeping staff is the worst Ive ever experienced. I stayed at this hotel for 8 days and every other day it seemed as if there was something. The light above the sink hardly worked, and the light by the door did not work at all, and when I checked in the floor (carpet) was dirty. I stepped on an old Cheetos. Thankfully maintenance fixed the light by the front door when I asked; the one above the sink there is no hope for. I also asked house keeping to vacuum, and that was an ordeal. They knocked around 9 am and I clearly told them I would be gone in an hour and a half and asked if they could come back then. When they knocked I asked if they could please vacuum. Simple right? Come back in an hour and a half and exchange towels and vacuum. No...not at all. They came back three times before 10:30 asking if I was ready yet. This was annoying, but not terrible. The next day another house keeping crew was on duty and once again knocked around 9. On this particular day I was sleeping late because it had been a long night the night before. I wake up and told them no thank you, and that I do not need any housekeeping today. Problem solved I thought. Boy was I wrong. 30 minutes later not only did housekeeping knock, they opened the door! She hurriedly closes the door and I thought I would get a little more shuteye. 30 minutes later, house keeping called before I even really fell asleep again to see if I needed housekeeping! At this point I was highly annoyed, but said no thank you, not today. How hard is it to just go away when I politely said no thank you the first time!? Fortunately, housekeeping did not come by again, but I didnt get another ounce of sleep. The next time I slept in a put a Do Not Disturb sign on my door and they actually didnt bother me, but no such luck on the following time I hung a Do Not Disturb sign. Before I go any further let me clarify that this is the hotels own do not disturb sign...not one I randomly created... Around 9, I hear a knock. Ive only been asleep for about 5 hours and plan to sleep in...but the darn house keeping CANNOT read, or listen for that matter! I say yes? when I hear the knock and rather than saying something back they just open the door! I then ask if there isnt a Do Not Disturb sign hanging, but apparently shes too embarrassed or just didnt care to respond because she slammed the door without saying anything. I was so rudly awakened and wide awake that I didnt even attempt to go back to sleep at this point. If you plan to stay at this hotel and have an odd schuedule dont expect to get much sleep.
Room was OK. Had to get a suite because of an event in town that weekend. Suite is a bit of an overstatement.Room had a Jacuzzi tub stuck in the corner separate from the bathroom. Bathroom walls were cracked and shoddily repaired, carpet was torn and frayed entering the bathroom. Jacuzzi tub had cracks and hairs in it. Room was overpriced due to the event.Plumbing i.e. toilet flushing and pipes were slow and extremely noisy and loud...including the neighbors.
The hotel is located right off the freeway and just down the street from Cracker Barrel and some other food places. The room was cozy; had a fridge, microwave, the AC was quiet. The pool is small and located right in front of the hotel (just off the freeway). The breakfast was okay, it had the typical waffle maker (Texas shaped), eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruit, coffee/tea.
Printer did not work upon check in. Poor breakfast service (staff had not shown up for work). Had to look for plates, had to tell clerk at front desk there were no forks, ran out of regular coffee. Every food item was in short supply. Clerk at front desk (Jennifer?) was on phone to manager? and very loudly was telling this person that she was leaving at 10:00 and someone better be there. This comment was said several times and loudly.
I always stay at this hotel when in Abilene. I hadnt planned ahead this time; it was a spur of the moment thing to go to Abilene. With the hotel only having an accessible room on the ground floor that was smoking I should have gone elsewhere. I was disappointed there were no eggs to eat or places to seat.
If you need a comfortable, simple place to stay, this will do. Its clean, and the beds are comfy. For a few bucks more you can stay at the Comfort Suites next door and get an interior entrance (with more security) and more amenities. Thats where well stay next time.
Upon arrival, clerk stated that she didnt have a room on first floor, which is what we requested. She didnt acknowledge our Diamond Elite status or act like she knew what it was. Finally got us a room on 1st floor but said it was right around corner from office. The key opened a room which was full of storage. Our room was at opposite end of hotel. It was OK but needs updating.
The person that checked me in( I believe his name was Shaun) was very helpful. I needed a certain room and after a few minutes, he was able to get it for me. The staff respected my wishes about not entering the room. This is important because I am a private investigator and have confidential files in my briefcase.
This room was not up to standards at all. Dirty, ragged. They told me hotel is going to be renovated soon -- I can see why. Make sure renovations are done before you stay. Also no elevator to upper floor rooms. I didnt know that when I booked with my big suitcase....
We take an annual trip to a Ranger game in Arlington and stay in Abilene going and coming back. We tried this hotel on our first trip and have not changed our place to stay with each subsequent trip. We are always extremely satisfied with the entire experience. Thanks for making this part of our trip a dream

2022-05-02Ive been on the road for 50 years. Never have I had such a poor experience with the condition and cleanliness of any hotel. The main mirror in my room (RM 120, Abilene, TX) was broken and fractured across the middle of the mirror. Shower parts were held together with masking tape. Huge stains in carpet. My companions room was filthy.. pubic hairs a plenty in the shower.. Bathroom had not been cleaned. We couldnt wait to get out of there. Will probably post my experience on travelers websites. Will never stay in a Quality Inn again.

2022-03-28Positive: The front desk clerk warned us that the room had been occupied by a woman who smokes for 3 months & if we wanted to, we could get a refund. However all hotels were booked. I have asthma and smelled smoke all night.Worst hotel experience ever. Negative: Smelled of an ash tray. Bathtub with orange and black stains. Pony tail holders on bathroom door knob, black smudge marks all over bathroom door. Completely nasty. All hotels booked due to an event, so had no choice but to stay or sleep in car. The worst.

2022-01-15Typical fleabag motel. Priceline got me on this one, and Ill never use them again. For $30 more, there is a nice looking Holiday inn Express across the parking lot. It appears this place was subject to a budget remodel, when it should have just been torn down. It is a non smoking hotel, but as a non smoker the place smelled like an ashtray that was sprayed with an air freshener. From the outside. The inside is dirty. Not the worst place Ive ever stayed, but certainly in the bottom 10%. If not for the fact that I just drove nearly 2k miles non stop, I would have changed hotels. I was so exhausted that you could have given me a piece of cardboard and cleared out a spot beside the dumpster and I would have accepted it. Speaking of cardboard, the mattress was terrible. There was a rusthole in the tub, I assume thats where the ants were coming from. I only saw them in the shower. As typical with cheap motels, the neighbors were loud. I did wake up a few times to them slamming car doors and car alarms chirping. Only once did they try to get in my room. The lady politely beat on the door to yell sorry to me. π. No need for an alarm clock, as housekeeping will be beating on the door like the police by 9am. I was frightened and would have slipped in the shower if someone hadnt spray painted over sand in the bottom of the tub. Nice touch. In summary: cheap motel that has the price of a nicer place without the comforts. Lots of other choices nearby.

2022-06-26I was told there was an ice machine in the breeze on ground floor, so I get my walker to get some ice and no ice machine, so I get a soda and go to get a snack out of vending machine and the slot for money was missing, go back to room and call front desk about the ice machine she said oh its on the 2nd floor and no elevator, great no ice for me. The chair had stains on it. Bedspread as well. Dead bugs on the floor, and loud music playing outside and people gathering .
