Sadly, this place was horrible, Ive lived in Austin my whole life, this movie theater was a staple growing up. We came here all the time. Now... its just pathetic, there was no AC in the movie theater, i was dripping from sweat for two and half half hours in this movie, it was so bad my wife and I got up and left at the end, we didnt even finish the movie. Then the popcorn was stale, they didnt have a good selection of snack at all. The theater itself was just sad looking, wallpaper was shredded towards the floor all over the theater. The walls we dirty and you could even see in spots where the wall looks damaged and wrinkled. For a theater thats been around so long, I was very sad to see it in such bad shape. Its sad to say I wont be back to this theater anytime soon.
Trying to contact the theater by phone for lost and found because I believe I lost my debit card there and no one is picking up. I’ve called 5 times and now the phone number is all of a sudden disconnected. Someone should always be available to pick up the phone when someone calls in
You can reserve your seats. And they are electric reclining lounge chairs to make it even more comfortable. They sell beer and wine too, but they dont have servers like Alamo Drafthouse so you have to go to the snack counter to order what you would like. Still, a much-improved and Incredibly comfortable way to watch a movie. And, they seem to always have good seats available when other theaters are sold out!
My sister fell down a step and hurt her knee really bad.. .the place is too dark for older folks to see. The path is lit, but the actual stairs are not. Thankfully she could walk out, but she can barely move this morning. Granddaughter loved Frozen 2. $24 for 3 waters and a medium popcorn was exorbitant on top of $28 to see a 10:45am show.
OK theater. Alright sound and screen. Was surprised few employees were not wearing masks. Employees were friendly though. LOT of people coming to the theater were not masked as well. I guess if the employees dont wear mask themselves, you cant expect management to enforce mask mandate on the people coming to theaters. So forget about the sanitization of the theater halls probably! We did have oil spots on seat , which we got cleaned.
This was the first time I have been to a Regal Cinema. Our family went to see Knives Out. The theater was nice. The concession area had some appealing choices (although overpriced as they are at most movie theaters). The reclining seats were comfortable and the entire theater, including restrooms seemed to be clean. The staff were all courteous. I would definitely go to this Regal again.
The screens are a bit small, but the seating is great. Leather recliners! By far the best Regal theatre in Austin. I have an unlimited subscription and this is the only Regal that I like. Would be a five if it wasnt for the manager who seemed to have a need to assert authority when it wasnt necessary. She made me turn off my phone and put on my mask when the only other person in the theatre was my brother sitting next to me. She really seemed to have an attitude, even after the movie she glanced at me with disdain. Try smiling, your working in the service industry.
Nice theater! The theater was very clean (even the bathrooms) and the reclining seats were pretty cool. They were wide and spacious enough to really get comfortable and I love the fact that you can recline to the point that you are almost laying flat. The chairs themselves need a little more cushioning though, they were a little hard, but overall I really liked them. Next time I go see a movie there, I will need to remember to bring my pillow :)
Wonderful spacious theater with plenty of air conditioning throughout the theater and especially the ladies bathrooms. They let you choose where youd like to sit in their huge plush reclining chairs with cup holders . Some theater goers think their popcorn and drinks is a bit pricey but youre really simply paying for more popcorn & drinks in advance. This theater has plenty of parking and a delightful staff. I give them 7 Stars.
Its good. Definitely a lot of people can fit in one theater, so expect at least a few rambunctious people/kids. A little sticky if you get the wrong seat. Also, dont sit too far back you may as well just wait and watch it at home. At the very least, lots of places to eat nearby and even shop.
Thank you for outstanding customer service. The Theater is clean, comfortable seating and accommodating. I truly enjoyed the Star Wars 🎥. Powerful and uplifting message Dont bow down and be conformed! Stand up for truth, what you know is right and let the reinforcements arrive! All my faith is in GOD!
Very comfy chairs! They serve popcorn and candy, small menu for hot items, beer, wine and combo specials. Lots of screens so they have a lot of movie options. Theres a rewards program as well where you can get free stuff if you visit often. Great theatre. Really enjoyed it.
This is my favorite theater in S. Austin. Primarily due to the seats, theyre so comfortable and they recline. You can also choose to pick your seats prior to the movie, and I usually get lucky and the middle two seats are almost always available for my choosing. The staff is nice, during the week its not packed. My only complaint if I had to find something, I cant drink the beers in the bottle they come in, you have to drink it in an average sized plastic cup, so you dont get the entire beer that you paid $5.99 for. Other than that, I love the coziness of this theater and its inside the Westgate shopping area next to Central Market so thats an added bonus.
The stadium seating wasnt stadium seating. We both literally couldnt see the bottom of the screen sitting straight up, because of people in front of us which meant we lost more screen if we tried to use the recliner. The concession stand barely added any butter when we asked for extra, and part of it was burnt. The bathrooms were clean. The aisles are wide and employees are nice, but this is the last time we go there.
Fun movie-going experience. Nice touch with the reclining chairs, etc. However, I wish I could have had flexibility with the chairs. The options for the foot rest and the back was either all the way up or all the way down - there was no way to settle on somewhere in the middle. Otherwise, a pleasant time.
Were from Houston, and we love visiting Austin! With me being the type of person I am (reading reviews and seeing how places are rated) I only like to go places that are the best! This theater had good reviews and a good rating, so we went to see the movie Peppermint. We experienced good customer service from the girl at the concession stand and the ticket taker individual. The place was clean! And it wasnt crowded when we went.
When visiting this theater, the entrance gave me a wow factor. But when I ordered my popcorn and soda, the popcorn was rather cool. I was already late for the movie so I went my merry way. When it was time for a refill, I got the same semi warm popcorn. The restrooms needed attention and the counters at the front needed allot of cleaning. Id give a 5 star review but cleanliness and hot food is at the top of my list of criticism. But I may not know if they will fix this as this was my first and last visit.
My favorite neighborhood movie theater!. Big, comfy, reclining seats. The employees have always been pleasant and accommodating - never been hassled for bringing in outside food (though I have always been discreet). And they now serve beer and wine - not as smooth of an operation as the Drafthouse, but you still get a beer in the end.
Like most movie theaters, the decor is energetic, the counter service is slow, and the theaters are cool-cold. They relatively recently updated their seats to the wide, recliner chairs that are comfortable and perfect for a nap during kid-requested movies. Throw on top a pretty good local beer selection, in draft and can/bottles, and this theater moves up a star.
I didnt like my experience very much at all. I was ready to go right after the movie. The popcorn they sold us was old and cold, and the butter was basically water. The womens bathroom was disgusting. Im talking toilet paper all over the floor, water in the floors and one toilet I went to had huge clumps of hair for some reason?? The only thing I likes was the chairs.
I love the assigned seating. The motorized reclining chairs I found quite comfortable and add to the experience. The popcorn is always at least good, but usually great (this odd course means unhealthy and high calorie, but that should be obvious). They dont have a full menu, but I always find it a bit annoying trying to eat at the other theaters in which dark conditions. This is not as upscale as other theaters, but it a worthy option and our familys preference all things considered being we live south.
The last 3 or 4 times I have been here, it has been awful. People on their phones, and management will NEVER do anything about it other than a blanketed statements. EX: Ok we will look...we looked found nothing. Watched Godzilla last night and the cinema doors to #5 were left open the whole movie, the sound was only coming from the front speakers. I still enjoy Regal, but would rather have stadium seats and great service than not. To note however, the food is OK and the kitchen staff is always friendly.
They did an awesome job and quickly. Some how are ticket confirmation got mixed up and was giving us the wrong seating row. It match someone elses. But at the theater it had a different seating the only thing is it couldnt have sold us those seats cause they are handicap ones. So they got other seating just in time before the movie started. Got to see the previews. Great job to the manager who was working on 7/20/19 @ 5:10 PM showing.
This theater was renovated a couple of years ago and is very nice while still being affordable. The seats recline at the push of a button until your basically horizontal! Its clean, the screens are large, and you can pick your seat ahead of time. While Alamo DH is awesome, this is actually a better spot for any movies that you need to see on the big screen.Snacks, soda, and beer are all crazy expensive... but you can certainly still sneak in some snacks or soda easily as there is no in-theater food service.
This theater has been redone, which has improved its seats a lot. Big, reclining seats that have to be reserved. Nice variety of snacks and drinks. They even serve alcohol. Wheelchair seats are available, which is convenient--theres a space next to a seat if you are going to the movies with someone in a wheelchair you can sit next to them.
Meh. You can go the Drafthouse and enjoy a movie for about the same price with AMAZINGLY better amenities. The food is terrible. The beer overpriced and undersized. The seats are fantastic but so what? The cinema itself is very nice but its such a dinosaur compared to what else is out there. Its like going to a movie in 1998.
Hiway robbery. For a small popcorn it cost $7,99 & for a medium soda it costs $5.69. This is unreal. And this theater is old and very uncomfortable seats. They are hard as a rock! I will never come back here. I will go to Southpark Meadow Cinema. Much nicer and better prices. Dont come to this theater. Regal Westgate.
Really cheap style theater. Reclining seats but not comfortable. Tethe theater is small and so is the screen. Cleaning crew doesnt wait for credits to end before they turn on the bright lights (and blind you) and start cleaning. Had to tell one to move so I could finish reading. Will not be returning!
Good seating and good service. My only complaint is that they hold your drivers license while you use a closed caption device. Other theaters Ive visited dont.UPDATE on 8/22 -- First, thank you for responding to my complaint. But more importantly, today we were pleased by two changes at Regal Westgate: (1) They did not hold the drivers license and (2) they now have closed captioning glasses (rather than the device that attaches to the drink holder). These worked so well--so much better than the other devices--that Im upgrading to 5 stars.
I bought my ticket one day before the show to ensure that nobody would be sitting in the seat beside me. I arrived at the theater 15 minutes early and see a couple sitting in my seat and the seat beside mine. This is the second time that couple has done this to me. I moved to another seat because the woman sitting in my seat wouldn’t sit still. Not happy
Im a regular first show in the morning visitor. Today, for the first time in many weeks, the theater temperature was warm enough to sit through the first show without a coat on. Thank you for that. Otherwise I have never had a negative experience at the Westgate Regal cinema. Staff is always cordial and place is always clean. Its hard to get decent help anymore and kids just dont want to work.
Seats were great - reclining and spacious and you can reserve them online. Apparently bringing your blanket to the theater is acceptable so you can be cozy while you enjoy your movie.Standard fare for snacks and some local beers available, too. Bulk candy dispenser was pretty fun, too. This is a popular spot for families and there were a good number of kiddos with their parents on a Friday night.
Location, location, location right by my apartments. Seriously, this is my go-to theater and has been my favorite for over 20 years. Its clean, no bad element, good police presence in the evenings and lately, very good customer service, which is almost non-existent in movie theaters. Theaters are small and intimate and I like them like that.
Went to this theater for the first time because Alamo Drafthouse didnt show Warcraft on opening week. I was pleasantly surprised by how awesome the theater rooms are. The lighting is so nice and it just feels like a movie theater. The seats are comfortable and recline a lot! The seats arent loud so you wont hear people around you reclining during the movie. The prices for food/popcorn are as youd expect. They do have reserved seating which I find is awesome! I dislike going to the theater without having an assigned seat so its great they have adopted that system. This also prevents people from movie hopping so anyone complaining is probably mad they cant movie hop. The only things that took a bit away from the experience is that the sound wasnt very loud and the screen wasnt very bright. The lobby of the theater could use a bit of a remodel to match those fancy new seats but great experience regardless.
I like the reserved seating and the chairs are nice BUT Ive found that the last couple of times Ive gone here it seems like they leave the lights on a little too bright throughout the whole show. Im not sure if someone just forgot to turn them off or if they meant for it to be this way. I prefer for the theater to be really dark to keep me from being distracted by other things. For this reason alone Ill be looking for a new theater home.
I love going here but today was just horrible not the service or anything like that. It was the AC that was the problem. We were watching Wonder Woman today at the 7:45 showing and at first it was cool not to hot but right before we started the movie we noticed it started to get really hot. At first we thought it was just everyone settling in to their seats but no. It was like instead of the AC on it was the heater. Everyone was trying to find something to use to use as a fan. Several people got up and went to let the manager know about the situation and the AC was still not on. Until after the movie a gentleman complained and the manager said let me go turn it on. That means that even though a lot of people complained they still didnt turn the AC on. Ridiculous! I didnt get to enjoy the movie like how I wanted to. I love going to Westgate to watch the movies that I like or am really excited to see, but today was just completely the opposite. I hope this never happens to anyone having to watch a movie without AC. I hope the Managers get the AC fixed if thats the case.
The ticket prices were higher than a regular theatre because they have larger reclining seats. The lady at the ticket window sold us a ticket for a show that had already started vs. The later show we asked for. We didnt realize this until after we spent 50 bucks on snacks for everyone (kids included) and there werent any seats left in the theatre we thought we had bought tickets for. There was a 3d version of the movie we wanted to see at later time so they gave us tickets to it, but we had a 3 year old with us who would NOT wear the glasses so it really wasnt a fun experience.
Love love love the recliner chairs!Parking lot is a bit gross at times but other than that, such a fun place to watch a movie. Central Market, Amys Ice Cream, Bath & body works, & a pottery painting place all close by if youre doing the date thing & want to mix it up!Every summer, they do dollar kids movies for charity - a great chance to see movies from a few years ago, on the big screen again!
Regal Westgate is a nice theater that has reclining seats with leg rests. They also serve beer and wine, some of the beer is on tap, other in bottles. Theres a lot of space between seats with a decent amount next to each other and lots of space in front and behind. If I lived in the area it would be my theater of choice. One note though there was a little rattling when the bass got crazy in blade Runner 2049 but that was probably only that theater and BR has crazy bass anyway.
Its a nice theatre. Although the seating arrangement is stupid!!! I think people come out to enjoy a movie and sit where ever they feel like. The assign seats is just going to cause a lot of chaos and trouble. I didnt pay $23 for the movies and another $40 on a Icee and popcorn to be told where i can and cant sit. I dont think Ill ever be back to this theatre. And the manager and cop there are trash!!! Cant even do their job right. Pathetic. Id rather go to Metropolitan.
Great service. Usually the concessions people attend quickly. Only downer is the people in front who sell the tickets. Theyre always on their phone and will barely look up when a customer is trying to buy their tickets.Ive resorted to buying mine on Fandango instead. Otherwise, a pretty good theater.
I have thoroughly enjoyed living close to this theater. The place is clean, and never that packed, even on the weekends. I first came here to watch a Studio Ghibli movie as part of a Fathom Event. I was impressed with the food and draft beer. I had some tacos and a Blue Moon and both were delicious. It is expensive, but what movie theater isnt?I have come back on several occasions and at several different times of day and am no less impressed with the place. In fact, I will be returning this weekend.
Whats the point of reserving seats if people sit in the wrong seats and make it an uncomfortable situation for YOU and having to ask them to move ? There was a snuggled-up-cozy-looking couple taking up my seat and I didnt want to go through the awkwardness of breaking them up and then the theater filled up and people had to tell me to move and they were rude about it . I went to management asking for a refund and they told me I should have told him to move in the first place , maybe so . . but is it too much to ask for a relaxing experience without having to confront anyone or have any drama ?
My favorite place to see a movie with the family. They have the most comfortable seats of any theatre around. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the theatre doesnt stink of everyones food like it does at the one theatre down the road...you know which one Im talking about. The one where waiters are walking in front of you the whole time.
Best place to watch a movie. You earn points. The seats are comfortable. Its clean.Amys ice cream next door. Central market in the same area. Yoga. You can run errands, exercise then relax and watch a movie in a safe, clean place.Maybe they could add fruits or healthy chips or baked fries to their menu.
We bought tickets for this theater on Fandango. Once we arrived, we were told that our tickets were for the previous night, even though we clearly bought them for the night we went. We got kicked out of the theater, even though it was not full. We were told we had to buy tickets again. Thoroughly disgusted, we threw away our full (overpriced) drinks and left. No help from the theater, no help from Fandango, no refund. Needless to say, that is the last money I will ever spend with either company. Have fun with the money you stole from us - you are losing more in the long run. There are tons of other theaters to patronize.
Solid movie theater. Reclining leather seats. Intimate theaters. Clean. Serves food and beer / wine at the counter for you to bring into the theater. Food choices are just OK but convenient. There is also an Amys ice cream next door that stays open late for a post movie treat!!
Their service is awesome; its the fastest snack line I ever go through at a movie theatre... the horrible part about the facility is the seating. I took my 5 year old to see Monsters University and she couldnt see. If an adult since in front of your child, your child will have to sit on their knees the whole movie and will still barely be able to see. It wouldve been great had they had updated seating...
Im not a movie lover. I always feel like after 2 hours im trapped in a dark box that Im stuck in until the movie ends. And the idea of eating a $40 meal or drinking $30 away in the dark to then have to drive home like some theaters offer sounds like Ive got all the money in the world that I dont. And I dont know about you guys, but hearing people eating and rustling around is super distracting to me as it is, in a quiet theater, well, some of yall seriously need to close your mouths when you chew(nothing but love♡).Im disoriented when i come out of movies, especially when I went in during daylight and come out into darkness. (Seriously, I know yall all do as well so hush now.):)So youd probably ask by this point, what is this woman reviewing a movie theater for? She needs her own magazine column!! And I thank you for your question and your compliments! So the point is. Im the worst person to ask to go to a movie. Im picky, and usually if its not a comedy, Ill probably be in a mood on the way there. But Regal Westgate is legit the ONLY theater I go to when I take my son to see a movie, or with my family, or any naive date that hasnt read this review yet. It is a clean, spacious, easy to navigate space that offers run of the mill snacks& drinks& even beer now, but not mango chutney grilled eggplant frittatas for $20. I can go online and reservd my seat prior to the movie so im not having to stand in line for a good seat. There is ample parking, stadium seats that recline, hard wood floors, and the movies start on time, no problems, perfection. In fact, I love this theater so much Ive been there 3 times in the past month& a half!! That is insane yall!! Go now!! Enjoy your movie!
Made the choice to go here because I downloaded the Regal Cinema App and was told Id get a free small popcorn upon my next visit. Well, turns out the offer was only good for 7 days after downloading the app. What a crock of malarkey. I decided to settle for a $7 12oz beer instead. Then, the date and I get to our theater and sit down and recline our fancy chairs. Turns out there was free popcorn all in the cracks of the chairs! However, much to our dismay, our pants now had butter stains and whatever else may have been on those sexy chairs, all over our pantalones! Next, while watching our amazingly bad movie Insidious, we got to hear bits and pieces of the movies playing in the theaters next to us; hurray! It was the best $35 Ive ever wasted in my life.
This is the only theater I go to. Friendly staff, clean theater, fast service. One time a 3D movie was not showing correctly and I notified the manager. He came in about 5 minutes after my complaint and turned the lights back on. He said he was sorry for the showing and they would play the 2D version for us, along with passes for another show. I mean I was not upset about the 3D version not showing well, I just wanted to see something watchable. When he gave us passes as well that was over the top. Thank you for that! Love this theater.
The recent upgrade just doesnt make this complex any better. Less seats per theater, added alcohol, blablabla... just makes it cost more. This is not a premium theater. I have come here many times and either the projection or the audio was not checked before flipping the switch. Give me seats that rock and a a good 20 leg room, cheap popcorn and Im good.
If you are looking for a next level movie experience this is it. The chairs are amazing. I am 68 tall and I feel like a king in the seat. I can fully lean the chair back and my legs are not in anyones way. That is saying alot for a tall person like myself. Say goodbye to the days of cramped uncomfortable movie seats. Yes you cant order custom food like Alamo or Flix but they more than make up for it. If craft brews or wine is your thing they have got you covered. The Regal rewards club also nets us a free ticket every 4 trips to the movies. Dont wait a moment longer, go enjoy the movies like never before! Five stars all the way!
Absolutely horrible experience—but great management. Its 7:50 at the time of writing. We just got home from a two hour movie that started at 7:15. Why, you might ask? Because we were being harassed and pulled into a dramatic scene between two very rude patrons (led by an old man in a black fedora, for anyone playing at home) who walked in five minutes late, and, upon being unable to find their seats, began to accuse my wife and I of lying about which seats were on our tickets. They continued to make rude comments and make a scene until we finally just walked out. There is a possibility that this is in part due to the placement of the seat numbers, which is confusing. Many of the numbers are placed on the armrests between seats. So its possible the entire half of the row we were on was off by one seat each, causing the discrepancy. But the extremely rude manner coupled with the lateness of the pair meant that there was no way any resolution would be reached. So we walked out of a movie. On date night. For Valentines Day.No. The worlds not ending, and no, Im not so entitled as to believe that this of all problems is any more grand than so many other more important issues. But theres no way to come out of this sort of thing without a bit of rage. Karmas a—well, you know. That said, the manager (I forgot to get his name, but I recall his badge said his favorite movie was Green Room. Good pick!) was very professional and very polite. He offered to re-seat us—which we declined, not wanting to aid in causing more of a scene—or issue a refund. A few minutes later, we had a refund issued and a receipt in hand. The manager was very sympathetic and understanding, and Im genuinely grateful. If the rest of the experience mirrored the management, this would be a glowing five star review. Maybe next time, if there is a next time.
This is now are good to spot for movies which is probably kind of rare considering that Alamo Drafthouse is also in Austin. A few years ago Regal updated their seats and now you can recline and still have 3 to 4 feet of space in front of you for other movie-goers to pass to use the restroom or leave the theater. It also has an online booking system so you can choose your sheets before you go and you can use Movie Pass.
It had been years since coming here as we live further south, so we decided to give it a shot again. I got tickets to Avengers End Game the day it came out, and then Shazam and Hellboy shortly after. For all 3 movies there was confusion on seating. The numbers are not marked well enough to tell which seats are which especially into the higher numbers. After the 1st time we made sure to take note of the seat order so it wouldnt happen again, but we still had to ask people to move as they were in 2 of our seats. Tonights situation was the worst experience because there was a young man trying to get the whole row to shift down 1 seat to make room for his younger sister. I am 8 months pregnant and arrive to find people in our seats again and the guy mis-counted leaving us with 2 seats instead of 3. Movie is about to start and my family cant sit down because he was scrambling to figure it out. This almost lead to an altercation when we wanted to get a manager. Hellboy also wasnt the best experience as lights were still on and sound had an echo or speaker out. Seats are comfy and everything else was great. Tonight was enough to never return.
This theater is one of those hidden gems. Due to its location it tends to never be full especially when it comes to major motion picture releases. You can usually pick up midnight showing tickets the same day of for things like the newest Star Wars or Marvel release. Beyond that they have some of the most spacious and comfortable seating in the Austin area. The food options are the only downside but if you’re in the mood for something to fill you up for 2 hour then they have your standard variety of snacks. There is also ample parking so it really is probably the best theater in Austin. Best be sure to sign up for Regal Rewards to get some nice benefits too.
Theater number 5, was on the last seat. The seats were great but the lights on the left were so bright and it was on the whole time. Tried lowering my seat a little but there was a tall guy sitting in front of me. So it was either head or light. Next time Ill remember to sit on the right side.
Most embarrassing experience and just plain terrible service! We had asked for second row seats and were given the wrong ones even after we were there first, bought popcorn, drinks and candy! We were in the middle of watching the movie and we had to get up and leave because we were given the wrong seats! I use to love this movie theater and now I will think twice before ever coming again!
This was not a good experience and I felt like I couldn’t even enjoy my movie because of it. One woman was working the ticket booth alone last night while a large line formed and she started to work 2 registers when a delay would pop up. I called ahead of time before i arrived and even asked about the procedure of claiming a movie pass time on my app that was incorrect due to movie pass not allowing anything outside of a regular admissions ticket to be purchased, hence my frustration. On the phone I was told show up with the claimed ticket, the payment would be processed on my movie pass card and then my ticket would be changed to the 3D showing I was trying to get into and I would pay the difference, simple enough. Due to the one woman manning the booth by herself she didn’t understand what to do, I tried to explain but between her trying to help me and others at the same time and getting flustered, I was fed up and didn’t want to miss the movie so I paid full price for the ticket unnecessarily. I am EXTREMELY annoyed that she was by herself and was allowed to remain that way even after a manager came out to help with another customers mishap. After the movie NO ONE was in sight for me to talk to as the movie got out after midnight. I’m upset with this theater and it’s management. I would like to speak to someone about this issue and demand a refund.
This was my go to theatre for years, mostly because it’s about 2 min closer to my house than the next one. I’ve easily spent several thousand dollars here over the years but those days are over now after my experience this evening with the general manager. I can’t remember her name but she’ll be the 50 something bleach blonde with the permanent grimace. I’m not sure how a person can be both condescending and a robot at the same time but she nailed it, and for that I have to hand it to her.Sooo... I purchased tickets online, which is the only way you can get a decent seat so it’s pretty much necessary, but the website wasn’t working properly so I had to re re retry for two days (granted, not continuously) which we all know how frustrating that can be but eventually I find a way to make it work, and when we get to the theatre it turns out I accidentally bought the tickets for the day before... ooops.... but they have the skew so they know I wasn’t there and I’m here now with my wife and two kids... I’m obviously not trying to scam a free movie... the assistant manager says I need to call corporate to get a refund, he gives me the number I call and they say “oh yeah it’s fine we can’t give you a refund but the manager at the theatre can give you passes, this happens all the time”. Great! “ Well, not great because the assistant manager says HE can’t do that only the Manager can... he gets her and she says... “no. It’s our policy to not give refunds or passes.” And when I try to explain what corporate said, or what happened, or anything at all, she just kept interrupting me and repeating... “it’s our policy not to give passes or refunds” I say I understand the “policy” but... “it’s our policy...” “yes, I get that, but I know you have the ability...” interrupts me again “it’s our policy...” again I start, “ I just got off the phone with corporate who said you can and do, do this all the time”... “it’s our policy...”as annoying as this story was to read it was much more obnoxious in person. It just seems crazy to me to look at a person with their wife and children, all ready to see a movie and spend another $50 buck on top of the tickets I bought, on snacks and drinks and say basically “we both know I have the ability to let you in and help you with this simple common, mistake. And I know you’ve already paid, and I know corporate just said it’s ok... but no... you and your wife and kids are gonna have to pay again”.I know this post will accomplish nothing and matter to no one but it’s my only recourse at this point so I guess I’ll just call it “therapy” and be happy with that.Good customers permanently lost.
Worse Management and customer ServiceWas the first to purchase tickets on Fandango for the opening night of Dr Strange. When I arrive to check in, the manager Alex Haugen informs me the management had to move my seating. I ask who changed my seats, he informs me its his general manager Ann Osche. I ask for her number to have a discussion with her. Alex was quick to tell me he cannot and is limited to providing a dead end Customer Service 1800 number (which goes straight into an infinte que). When I ask Alex how he was going to make the situation right, all he was willing to do was to refund my tickets. I prompted him to at least comp me and my daughter a soda, but said that was not possible. We reluctantly went into the theater, and on the way in he had the audacity to tell me that if I stayed beyond 15 minutes he would not refund my purchase. While sitting in the less than desirable seats, we watch as our original seats remained unoccupied for the entire movie. We informed the night shift manager of the incident and Cody was equally unimpressive with his customer relations skills. Having lived in this area for over 20 years, there are many other local theaters that you can patronage. Highly recommend not going to this theater. Go to Alamo Draft house, recently upgraded Barton Creek theater or upgraded South Park Meadows. Stay away from this theater. you will be disappointed.
Had a wierd experience trying to get in after purchasing tickets online from their Regal website. I didnt get the confirmation email and they had no record of my purchase at the ticket booth but I verified that my credit card was indeed charged and they let us in after I showed them. However, the seats we reserved were taken by another group of people and we had to find other seats. Good people working there but they really need to fix the online ticket purchasing. I cant believe Im even writing this. Its like, Oh really? Regal Cinemas cant get the online ticket purchasing to work in 2017? I was buying tickets online with no issues at all from Alamo Drafthouse since the 1980s.
Dont waste your money coming to this theater. Horrible movie experience, horrible manager.Went to see Pet Semetary on Saturday 4/6/2019. The lights were left on for the entire movie. I informed the manager afterwards and she said lights are left on 24/7 for security reasons. That wasnt true. I just went to see Us the previous weekend and the lights were dimmed. I told her that wasnt true based on my experience the previous weekend. She then said lights are dimmed upon request. So I asked if I had to miss some of the movie to request the lights off? She said yes. What? Which is it? You either have the lights on for security reasons or you dont. One star is too generous. I would give lower rating if I could. Never going back again.
I love Regal theaters due to their rewards club. Come here on a Tuesday $2 popcorn. They also have other discounts during the week. Theaters are clean. Staff is nice. This is probably the main reason I come to this location. Oh, and the plus is theres an Amys Ice Cream right next door.
My family and I love this cinema, mainly because it is between all 5 of our lives but also because it has a great setup with lots of room for seating, and even more if you get their prime seating. We watch all of the marvel movies here and afterwards go eat out at Amys ice cream.
A nice alternative to the South Lamar Drafthouse for those times certain showtimes are sold out or only undesirable seats remain. Speaking of seats, theyre the main reason Im giving this place four stars instead of three; theyre large, comfortable, adjustable, and spaced out enough where you dont feel as you could sit on the lap of the occupant next to you. I just wish this place or Regal offered a bigger selection in food. Wish they served fries.
Movie tickets are expensive these days, so when I actually plan a night out and Purchase tickets. I had a family emergency and wasnt able to attend my original date .I reached out to them.and they made it right by sending me 2 complimentary tickets .Not to.many places have awesome customer service and go out of there way to make theres customers feel great again .. Thank you guys :)
Comfy seats, recliners are awesome, great atmosphere, only thing whats up with the concessions ppl they hardly smile and make me feel rushed and look annoyed to be there... but hey they did not purchase my ticket and i wont be sitting next to them so dont let that stop you from this theater
Was a 10/10... Till yesterday when I went to see the Avengers infinity wars, and the guy at the food stand, ripped me off by not giving me what I ordered. I asked for the combo that comes out to 9.99. Instead he charged me $19... If my date wasnt so afraid of confrontation I would of said alot more then, thats not what I ordered.... Thats the kids combo he said.... Mr. Buzzed on the sides, hair slicked back, goatee.... Looks like he just smoked a joint and didnt really want to be there. I hate bad customer service. What a dirtbag. Other than that, theaters great... Just be ready to call out the ppl at the food stand. This is how they make thier money, so u would think they would get ppl who want to work.
Surprisingly there aren’t too many theaters in south Austin.I’d drive further south to regal in the past and the experience wasn’t goodThe tickets are expensive, the theater rooms are dated and on two separate occasions, the screen cut out mid movie and didn’t come back on for 20+ minutes.I no longer go there.

2022-04-04Always good family time! This location is well kept and is staffed by super courteous people. I recently had the embarrassing displeasure of having a full drink knocked over by my company and they were extremely kind and understanding and they even refilled my drink! The young man that cleaned the spill was very patient and professional and did not get upset. Great job team!

2022-09-13My wife and I are visiting Austin for the Iron Maiden Concert. Today we decided to see the Beast movie at the Regal Westgate. The theater is very clean and very beautiful inside. Mark at the concession station was very fun and attentive. Seats were very comfortable and quality of the movie was great!

2022-08-24I have been going to this theater for years. Like 15. Tonight I am done with them. I bought a ticket for an 8:15 showing on their app. When I arrived at 8:28, running into the theater, the front doors were locked. I had to bang to be let inside. Concession shut down. This wasn’t fun. I asked for a refund of my ticket. They can only refund to the card the ticket was purchased with and the card has to be with you. I have a card saved on my app I don’t carry with me. You cannot get a refund through the app. So my only choice was to email regal for a refund. Are you kidding me?? I just walked out, out one ticket. The last money they will get from me. I *will* go redeem my 90k loyalty points before I defect to Alamo permanently though. 🤣

2022-07-25Watched NOPE here. Bought the tickets online. Recliner seats and pretty good pizza. Our theater was clean and the movie watching experience was pleasant. Would definitely visit here again.

2021-09-21So sad, there isnt a Dr Slice option at the drinking fountain... We are die-hard Pibb and Dr Pepper drinkers. Please consider making it an option, it definitely is a decision factor when choosing a theatre on movie night. This theatre has really improved! They now have reclining, reserved seating. They use coconut oil for their popcorn, Yum!At times, I have issues with signing into the Royal Crown Club.

2022-08-15Well whatever people say about popcorn I can say for me even it was cold I still loved better than pooping a bag of popcorn but I’m still glad I still had time after getting off work to get some popcorn maybe they should pop corn frequently so it can stay warm for the last showing but overall I’m still glad I was able ti get some ❤️🥰
