I also had high expectations for this store. I couldnt be more disappointed. The owner opened late, and he refused to tell me the prices of his products. It wasnt until after I separated the products I was interested in that I was being charged more than expected. The owner neglected to inform me that they did not do refunds or exchanges at all. The selection of video games was poor and overpriced, layout and organization was bad, and the prices are not even competitive with gamestop or any other gaming store at Austin for that matter. I recommend looking for another gaming store.
Loved the selection and garage parking for free. Wish there was hand sanitizer and maybe a cleaning process for the used items you buy. Spent hundreds in days back to back here even brought friends to do the same I just would think it would be greater customer service feeling more welcomed and grateful for a new customer bringing customers especially illy during the pandemic where businesses are closing...maybe its petty just thought I would be treated like its my first time everytime after all this. 5 if they can remember my name or face the tall black guy with the box haircut. Thanks regardless love the employees there the teens very helpful to the owner and nicer.
Checked out Resurrected the other night when a friend brought it to my attention. Overall, my experience was pretty awful. The employee on duty didnt say a word to me or even look up from his Highlander reruns played at an obnoxious volume. Why are so many of the game boxes sun damaged? There are a ton of boxed DS games and the majority appear to have faded art work like they were left in the song for too long. I noticed this problem with other games on other systems as well.Several items arbitrarily had no price tags (the boxed Genesis games in particular).Pricing on games was very inconsistent with what Ive seen at other used game stores or online—and not in a good way.I left feeling that Id wasted my time checking out Resurrected and feeling a bit disappointed that whoever takes all those games home will likely be paying more than they should and putting up with a bad shopping experience for the privilege.
Very friendly owner, lots of events, and a very good selection of cards and vintage games. The shop has a very interesting selection of older Yu-Gi-Oh packs and product thats hard to find elsewhere, as well as new releases. I visited from out of state because I was in town and felt very welcomed by the local players. Clean bathrooms and facilities added to the experience.
Recently bought a copy of Mariokart 64 that turned out to be a repro, an extremely convincing one at that. Brought it in and the shopowner swapped me with a new one no questions asked, and he verified the authenticity of the new cartridge I received. Merchant was friendly and understanding the entire transaction. Thankyou!
I wish I could be putting in a good review right now, because I love writing good reviews but unfortunately I had problems all week with this store. Ive been in search for a gameboy color for my son. Earlier this week on Sunday I called and asked if they would have any available. They told me they would have multiple in that next morning. I called the next day and they said they werent in yet and that they would keep me updated. I called yesterday and they said they were still not in and to call back the next day. I called today and they told me that they had received one and that they had not checked yet to see if it works and to call back in at least an hour. Keep in mind that I am on a time crunch with getting this game as I leave for Portland tomorrow at 4AM and need this for my son to keep him happy while he stays with his Aunt during the week. I call back 2 hours later for them to tell me now that the game does not work and that they wont have it ready for quite sometime. They wasted my time for days, as I waited instead of purchasing it from another store, and now I may not even be able to get one at all because of the time crunch. Had they been more transparent about the situation I might not be upset. So if you are looking for things that are already in their store than I am sure its fine, but if you are wanting to purchase something from them that is not there yet, be wary, they will give you the run around.
I am not from Austin and came into the business hoping to spend over a $100 in Yugioh cards. The overall customer service is the worst I have seen in a long time. I had to wait 2 hours to wait for the owner to show me the cards in the binder because he was playing cards with some other people. So the girl in the front had to help me out and was tossing binders in front of me as if she didnt want to do her job. I was extremely displeased with the over all experience and will not bring my business to this store. I will strongly recommend to people not to waste their time coming to a store where their business will not be valued.
This place has a good atmosphere and decent prices, but, my sole experience there was tainted by a very rude staff member. I asked a question about Pokemon cards and, after removing his ear buds so he could hear me, answered me. Then, as I walked away, I heard him start making jokes about me with someone who appeared to be a regular customer.
One of the few retro gaming stores left, and a good one! The shopkeeper is very nice and polite, you could spend some time with friends there, theres a restaurant next to the store, and you even have some tables and chairs inside the store to hang out talking about videogames and consoles!
In my opinion, this is a scalpers store. Not much organization so there’s no guarantee that your items aren’t damaged. I could look past that, but the prices were absolutely outrageous. As others have mentioned, a lot of the stuff is severely sun damaged. Staff wasn’t horrible but also not the best.
This store is great but has a few flaws that would wildly increase my enjoyment.1. The store has great selection, I pick up a ton of games for WiiU and they have games for it unlike other stores.2. They have pretty good prices. Nothing spectacular but a used batter copy of animal crossing is $55 dollars at Game Stop and the same game in much better quality is $47 dollars here.3. When I first came here they weren’t great with masks but now they are much better about it.4. My main quarry with this place is organization. It feels cramped and uncomfortable and I feel as if they could make things much nicer with a bit of reorganizing.
This is my second attempt at supporting a locally owned video game store after giving up on the rude crew at Gamerz Galaxy and I must say that the staff is just as bad at this store. On multiple occasions I have been met with indifference or downright rudeness. I am willing to pay a little more to support locally owned but they price certain items much higher than the worth of the item. Its sad to say but my experience at Gamestop on Anderson has always been pleasant and I have always been met with polite and knowledgeable staff. I have reluctantly made this my home store after trying to support TWO independent game stores in my neighborhood!
Resurrected doesnt have their own parking so I parked at the FedEx next door. That was mistake, I got a boot put on my car in the 10 minutes that I was in here. The store itself can only seat 20 people and you would be sitting extremely close to all of them. Their prices are a bit higher than other stores in the area, probably due to the location. Ive been to this store twice now and both times, no one greets you when you walk in or asks if you need help with anything (like if I were maybe trying to buy something). The vibe overall is very cliquey not very welcoming. I really hate leaving bad reviews but the negatives are really outweighing the positives here. Sorry Resurrected.
Most of the complaints are outdated. The store owner doesnt know how to play Yu-Gi-Oh for one, attitude hasnt been a problem for me, and I have been treated with respect every time i have come to this establishment. This place isnt a card shop. They are a game store who sells card game products, and runs events. They try to not make you wait to pay for the events to make sure they fire but they almost always do. I have not found another store with this kind of selection. I will continue to come here for a long time, making new friends and having fun, and recommend this shop to anyone who asks.
The owner plays in a draft tournament instead of helping his single employee handle customers. A large line of customers takes a backseat to his entertainment. This is a very poorly ran business far beyond words can explain. Its almost like his goals are to hustle the kids that come in, rather than running a respectable game store. Dont come here if you want to spend money, or trade anything in.
One of my favorite places to hit when Im in Austin and looking to get a game of Magic: The Gathering in. The stores staff is knowledgeable, eager to help and fun with play with!Great prices on singles (probably the best priced in the Austin area), great prices and prize support for draft compared to other stores in the area and plenty besides just MTG to browse in the store, Resurrected Games is a hidden gem that you should take the time to explore.
I was told that I wasn’t allowed to view the singles because there was only one employee on shift. That is a totally reasonable excuse aside from the fact that it’s 6PM on a weekday. I feel that they should have at least one other employee on. After returning to the store on another day to attempt to view singles, I was told that they could only be viewed online. After being unable to find them on the website, I asked for assistance in pulling up the proper page and was told that the employee didn’t know where it was. I want to support local business, however at this point ordering the cards online would’ve been cheaper, it would’ve saved me money in gas, and i would have them by now. It used to be a great place to kill a few hours going through cards. Now I’d rather work an 8 hour shift at a Walmart than shop here for 5 minutes.
I have mixed feelings about Resurrected Games. When the Xbox One was released, they sold me one when i couldnt find it anywhere for a reasonable price. Thats a plus. This place is popular with Yu-Gi-Oh players and is one of the few places in town i know of that does tournaments for the game. The store itself feels a little small, wish they had some more store space for tables and such.I play alot of Magic: the Gathering and i have been to alot of stores around town to check them out. They keep their good cards in binders, and others into boxes where you need to search though them if you are looking for something else. They have a decent selection of cards and boosters. The reason i gave it a 3 star was because of this one sketchy moment. While I was browsing though their cards, I saw they were selling a gold bordered City of Traitors for the price of a normal one (Gold bordered cards are not tournament legal and are only used to proxy cards in casual games). I informed the person working there that the card was way overpriced due to the fact its not real. The person told me that a co-worker bought the card for the buy price of a real one, so he had to sell it at the price of a real one to not lose money. They were knowingly trying to sell a fake card for the price of a real one. The store staff could of changed since then, but that experience made me loose trust in the store.
Way overpriced, horrible customer service, never on time to open the store. The owner knows nothing about the market, or pricing of vintage games, or is just shady. One of the two. Its a shame because its a great location, with some really hard to find stuff. Avoid this place.
Parking is tricky (Non-existent) to say the least in this area. Once you can get past most parking spots being 2hrs limit getting to this shop on foot the trick to remember is its right to the left of Torchys.Going inside the new location does have room to (barely) squeeze in about 32 players ish max comfortably to play MTG Magic which they host sanctioned tournaments for with fair prize supportLots of MTG Magic packs for sale from years ago give this store though something others dont. Also has Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon support, lots of playmats, some singles, and a store owner with his son who really went all out to make this place work and make people feel welcomed from my experience there.Clean spacey restroom in the back helps tremendously. Also has vintage video games spanning Nintendo and more. Will definitely keep this location on my radar for future events.Fyi get dropped off if you can to avoid having to find parking and avoid the parking garage if you can because there is constantly people coming in and out!
Dont go here for MTG events. Went to FNM last night and it was the worst tournament Ive ever been to. Ill give a short list of examples: the booster draft started 30 minutes late, the owner of the shop bought in to play, there were no tables or chairs so we played in the cafeteria of the mini mall, throughout gameplay the owner would continuously get up and go back into the store to ring people up (sometimes for 15+ min), no time limits for rounds, no judges or any rule enforcement, I could go on and on. Essentially, only come here if you enjoy bad customer service, long wait times, and disorganized play.
This place has every thing! Old games and consoles and new movies and board games. Will definitely be coming back when I have more time to look through everything. If you are a gamer in Austin and want to support local biz this place cant be beat. Really good prices from what I could see too.
Store never opens on time. Has probably the worst customer experience of any store I have been to. Staff is so rude, all they do is watch TV. I tried talking to one of them, and they would only respond with unhelpful one word responses and even rolled their eyes at me when I kept asking questions. One of the other employees who was watching TV was saying sexiest vulgar comments through the whole store. Never had a worse store experience in my life.
Does anyone actually work there?! You walk in and any questions (after you have found someone to help you) you have they make you feel like an idiot. All they do is play those card games made for kids. Sorry .I just want a dang video game a the reasonable price you advertise. Is it that hard?!
You haters need to realize that this store, ressurection games is a ICON. and I took the mega bus just to get to that store and have my mind blown away with the awesome merchandise and it was an even bigger awesome time, to meet and chill with the staff crew and owner. great staff by the way. and as for the owner of the store, cool dude and cool familys god bless ressurection games for their hard work and effort fundind special events at weekends with prizes and food drinks bringing kids all over Austin TX for a fun and relaxed time...so back off haters...
As a casual fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, this place has everything I could ever want and need. However, it doesnt just stop at childrens card games. Movies, video games, toys, other geek accessories, you name it, theyve got it. Plus their buy-and-trade policy is second to none; youll always get a fair deal for what youre offering.
Not for serious mtg. The owner is usually too busy playing YuGiOh to be of service, the drafts tend to start upwards of an hour late, and the last time I went there they were out of RTR packs so they arbitrarily decided to draft DGM-GTC-DGM after I registered and paid. The basic lands are not separated, so you either bring your own or dig through giant boxes of cards until you scrounge together the lands you need. Theres also no judge on hand, and they do everything you dont want as a player: cross-pod pairings, arbitrary pod sizes, no round timers, and more ridiculousness than I can get into.
Amazing collection. Two kinds of employees here, 1) One of the employees couldn’t be bothered to help or search for cards we needed 2) the other one literally spent hours showing us binders and even looked on the computer for cards in the back and helped us search through them
This is a pretty great store with some good buy 2 get 1 free deals, very unique employees there, heavy amounts of old school game gear stuff like NES and Atari, watch for when they do their back to school sales you can get some super cool t-shirts and hats for around like $12
Opening hours are at 10amI ended up having a mixup with megabus tickets and was unable to transfer the ticket because they decided to show up at 10:32amThis isnt the first time theyve opened very late either. Dont expect this place to stay true to their opening and closing hours.
Would give no stars if I could. Showed up at 1pm on a Sunday as posted- not a single soul in there. They’re never on time with anything they promise, and quite frankly the only reason they must have a business is through some messed up inheritance. No manners, no service, no follow through, no one even there.

2022-06-03I urge anybody who is thinking of going here to buy video games to please look elsewhere. For one, they sell repros. Now personally, I dont mind if game stores sell repros. As long as they are clearly labeled as being fake, and are sold for a cheap price. This store does not do either of those things. Instead what they do is sell repos for as much as legit counterparts. The kicker is that the people working there are fully aware of which games are fake and real, but dont seem to care to let any customers know or at least label the faked games in some way.Luckily Im somewhat experienced at spotting fake games. Unfortunately I bought a game there that was a repro. I didnt realize it was fake until I was in my car looking at it. So I went back in to tell them, all the while trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because I know people make mistakes sometimes. But when I talked to a worker there, he already knew it was a fake. But they did have two other copies of the same game, so they let me swap it out for a real one. I would give them credit for that, but since they were already aware they were selling repros, I cant even give them that.Secondly, everything in the store is wildly overpriced. Ive seen other reviews saying that GameStop has better prices, and theyre 100% right. Thirdly, the store is just very unorganized. Most games dont have labeled prices, and when you ask them what something is going for they look it up online (Im assuming they look at eBay prices). Plus a lot of the games are on the wall behind the register, so you cant even get a good like at them.In my four years of collecting video games, I have never had a bad experience at a video game store... until now.

2019-11-23I had higher hopes for this store. But it felt packed due to very little floor space. The selection of video games is poor, the layout and organization is bad, and the prices are not even competitive with gamestop. If youre looking for a place to buy games, there are better places in town. If youre looking for a place to chill and play board or card games, there are far superior places not to far away. The only thing plus side this store can offer is the fact that its clean.

2022-06-17The best feature of the shop is the vast selection with various collectibles, board games, and TCGs available though the play space leaves a little to be desired in the prices arent as competitive as consumers would like both in terms of online competition and other storefronts

2022-01-15I am reviewing as a seller - I sold 6 ps2/ps1 games here and walked out with 100 bucks. This is the place to come to sell games. I got absolutely ripped off at Game Over, which unfortunately have multiple locations.

2021-09-02If you want or need anything trading card wise then they most likely have it, and the manager there is very patient and really helpful also very up front, loved the visit I will definitely go back if Im in the areaP.S. they have one of the biggest selection of yugioh cards that Ive ever seen in a shop

2021-10-19I ordered a few Magic The Gathering cards from them. Unfortunately the cards were lost in the mail. However, Resurrected Games was kind enough to mail me replacements - amazing service and I will be buying from them again!

2021-09-30WORST SHOP EVER!!!! The owner is very rude doesn’t allow people to look at singles during the weekdays. He always low balls you if trying to sell something and the over price everything especially on YUgioh tins selling them for double the price when they first come out. Playpackets is so much better

2021-10-15Doesn’t honor sticker price of games, don’t bother even looking at the sticker, they’re going to look up every game you want to buy on eBay or whatever and make you an offer.Besides that annoying (and I’m pretty sure illegal) practice, decent selection, really bad value.

2021-09-02Ordered a game off of Amazon that was coming out of this store, unfortunately the 2 copies they had were sold before they could fulfill my order. They were very prompt in letting me know and offered alternatives to find the game. Very professional and more than many places would do these days. This is a place I would look into in the future.

2019-02-08Great location and a quality games selection. The store is small and cozy but they still manage to fit a lot of essential games for every system they offer here. The prices are fair but some games here I see for $15.99 go for around $6.99 online. Your paying for getting the game the same day, I suppose. Popular titles from franchises like Pokemon and Mario are at fair prices.
