Horrible place to work if you’re a caring certified nurse assistant. Scheduler for the CNA’s was horrible and very unprofessional. For instance, I spoke up for the unit, B hall, being that the residents have dementia and Alzheimer’s and have no say as to any of their care given. I was told we were “unstaffed” and there was nothing I could do and to not tell the other CNA’s about it, not to text about what was going on. But maybe something being said to other co workers could have helped the situation? Magna told me (days later after no response about the neglect) I was wrong for saying anything at all and to be glad there was even staff working. But what about the residents? Doesn’t their care ALWAYS come first. How is a resident NOT being showered for over a week and beds NOT being changed every other shift okay? Doesn’t matter if we were unstaffed or not there was always someone there, yet no one was being told anything because we didn’t have someone professional in charge and making sure things were getting done, it was always pushed to the side and never handled correctly. Not the place I needed to be in, would NEVER send a family member here.

My mother was placed in the COVID unit at Retama a few weeks ago. She was received very well by the nurses and staff. The director of nurses answered all my questions and even when an issue occurred with my mother, she didnt hesitate to find a solution and communicated with me throughout the entire process. My mother till this day raves about the physical therapist John. Thank you so much for taking care of my mother during a time when we werent the easiest family to deal with.

I have so many regrets placing my mother here, I trusted them and they failed my mother. May she rest in the arms of our Lord and savior. The management does not return phone calls and is never available to speak to.

At first I didnt want to come to the nursing home. I am glad I did. The staff cares and it shows. PT rehab department is great. The nurses try their all to help make you feel taken care of, and the CNAs show they care.

The nurses are good to me and all the other residents. The CNA’s show they care about me and the other residents as well. I love being here because I’ve made a lot of friends but most of all because I feel at home. Thank you to all the staff for all that you all do.

It is the worst nursing home I’ve ever been to. Before I went I called to notify the staff I would be going. No one answered the phone after numerous attempts. Finally after an hour of trying. A resident answered the phone and said they would give the nurse my name and time I was arriving. Upon arrival, a woman and her son were ringing.the doorbell and had been waiting over 30 minutes When I finally talked to the nurse I was not allowed to see my friend because they said I was not on the list to visit but told me if I wanted I could go to her window and see her thru there. Which was impossible because it had a dark screen. I traveled 250miles just to be sent away.. I’m very sorry my friend is in a place so understaffed and poorly trained

I really wanted to like this place, but staff definitely was lacking in training. My father passed away, last week and as his primary contact and responsible party I have yet to even get a phone call from A single staff member. I don’t even know what happened. My brothers and I even went by the nursing home the day after to gather my fathers belongings and not one staff member had the decency to come out and talk to us or even offer condolences. I regret sending my father to this place.

My ex husband had a wonderful experience at Retama Nursing Home. Nursing staff was very attentive and the Nursing assistance were always anticipating my every needs and followed through. Physical therepy were awesome they quickly got me to rehab and helped tremendously with my mobility. Thank you Retama Manor for an awesome experience. Keep up the amazing work.

This place is severely understaffed no training whatsoever this place needs new staff the people who work there are really rude. Really rude to the residence. And making fun of people who passed away is not a great way to show you care. I never will send my grandma there again.

This place is no good my mom keeps calling me and my sister to call up there so they can take her her medicine she is in pain she had back surgery and lay her down they dont answer her
