You be the Judge.Salsas were mediocre at best. The servers were nice and quick, the location and cleanliness were also good. To speak about the food, the steak had some skin so hard to chew for some pieces. Was also upset for the following. Ordered Shrimp a la Mexicana, which menu has with side of beans, rice, Pico, onions (grilled at option) and guacamole. When I received my order, with 6 shrimps (not flavorfull), side of beans (topped with cheese) and rice, with Pico for 14 😳 I asked for the side of guac, server mentioned menu had changed. I asked again if I was to get the side nonetheless, she said she was sorry and it doesnt come with it, again because the menu changed. At no time during ordering did she mention this. This made me feel uncomfortable and the server had a I dont care face. The tips for my family, which is added automatically if 6 or more ppl, was over 30. This frustrated me, but did not mention anything.I will definitely not be coming back. The ratings on yelp is acrually more aligned with the flavor and service of this place than the ratings on Google maps. Definitely not 4 starrs, most probably 2 to 3 stars, not considering the food, which should be the highlight.
They messed up my order twice and thought it was funny. They were drinking and laughing at the bar while taking orders wrong. Ernesto the manager thought he should finish his beer before coming over and discussing how my order was wrong twice. In addition I sat there without tea over half of the time I was there. They called someone who was supposed to be the owner and he didnt really seem to care that his workers were running his business into the ground. Ive been to this restaurant probably a dozen times and it just keeps getting worse and worse. Guess its time to find a new spot.
We had the best service here. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The food was really good. And the margaritas were strong! This was a great choice after a long work week. We ate out on the patio. Unfortunately they didn’t have fans out there (which wasn’t bad since temps were low today) but hopefully they’ll get some because Texas heat is no joke.
So we got seated by the host and she served us. It was bad communication and make us feel like she is rushing us to order. I ask no rices and doubled beans on my dish. I got that correct but she brings a small scoop of beans on side. Charge me 3 buck. I ask why she didnt told me that she was gonna charge me when I placed my order. Her respond was I dont know. I aint coming back here. And really dont recommend to my friends. Tacos tortias where so dry .
My fourth visit, and it is consistently awesome. Find out for yourself and youll know as soon as you are greeted with a smile and get 3 salsas with your chips. As a Texan I loved their sweet tea. The 4 ingredient margaritas impressed me. Order something different every time and its always great.
The restaurant was extremely clean. We had a new waitress that was excellent. She made sure that we had everything that we needed. The only problem was my date was charged 3 × $70 for our meal. 1 was voided and I hope they straightened it out by now. The overall experience and food was 5 stars...
Well, when it first opened it was really good and filling portions. Now that the owner is expanding more restaurants he’s lost focus and doesn’t spend as much time that and the quality of service has decreased. The portions even got smaller. Sadly to say, I don’t plan to go back anytime soon. The owner needs to ensure his one place business is sustained before expanding to other locations. The food is good, but the wait was long and portions are smaller.
I was excited to try this place because of the reviews. Walked in the restaurant was very clean and was greeted with a warm welcome. I ordered a shrimp cocktail. The presentation was very nice but when I started to eat it, I noticed that there was no shrimp in the shrimp cocktail. It was pretty much a veggie soup. The server was kind enough to remove the cocktail from the tab.
This was a last minute stop, and we were very surprised by the taste of the food and the great service Victor and Valorie gave us. We ordered the cuarto leches cake and the kids loved it so much we had to order a second round. Overall we had a great experience and will go back with family.
Wednesday night fellowship with family & friends our first visit, and everything was excellent, atmosphere was delightful, our server Victor, has very good customer skills he was friendly made recommendations as to the house plates so we tried the three and they were amazing! The house wine was sweet and went well with the fellowship & meal.Thank you, for a friendly clean & elegant environment. They also have a patio to enjoy the breeze.
We had a wonderful lunch at Rivieras today. The chicken mole enchiladas were outstanding and the nachos were extra crispy and excellent. We will be back soon. This is a family owned restaurant and it has a great vibe and atmosphere. We plan to come back during HH, which is from 3 to 7, Monday through Thursday. So nice to have a place in the Mesquite/Balch Springs area that serves cocktails at a great price. And outstanding food!!!
The food here is very good. I have ordered the same thing 4 or five times and I have enjoyed it every time. Their main problem is that they are not consistent with their presentation. Sometimes the meal will be served in a container where everything is in different compartments and the other way is they put the rice in the middle and everything else goes around it. I prefer the second way. Also besides that, what comes with it will change depending on who is bagging your order. If the menu says it comes with guacamole make sure that they put it in. They really need to work on their consistency but the food tastes wonderful
Incredible - Was just passing by, and took a chance, so glad we did! Rivieras took care of us like family, and the food was great. I love their unique menu, clearly a lot of thought went into their takes on some of classics and newer variations. No question there is an actual trained (brilliant) chef behind what theyre doing so well here. Well done, well presented, great staff and service. I would not hesitate to make this a go-to with friends and family.
We celebrated my cousins birthday at this restaurant and the service was amazing! The staff was very attentive and the owner came out to greet us and make sure we were well taken care of. The food was really delicious to say the least! I highly recommend! If you are looking for good, authentic food and great service this is the place to visit! Thank you to the owner and the staff for a memorable experience!
My wife and I were looking for a place to eat. Date night! We had seen Rivieras before, passing through. The outside patio first caught our eyes. The service was excellent and friendly, They brought out three different hot sauces for us to try😋. When we looked at the menu, the choices were great. My wife chose the brisket tacos with green rice and a cabbage slaw🔥. I got the chicken chimichanga with sour cream sauce rice and beans. The food was amazing!!! The service was top notch!!! We had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this place.
We should be able to leave a 0 star after getting my food wrong, they raked it off and took about 15 mins to bring me back the same plate. Instead of making my food over since it was their mistake! Will never come back and will continue to tell people how they do you. Also we were the only table in the restaurant. It was completely empty. I guess that should have been a big RED FLAG!
Not your typical neighborhood Tex-Mex, Rivieras quality and presentation compares favorably with upscale restaurants such as Mi Cocina. The menu is varied, and the tastes are excellent, from the three salsas brought with the chips, down to a variety of rices matched to the different meals. Staff is friendly and attentive. In two trips so far, weve tried 6 different plates, and all were excellent. Our teenage boys inhaled their meals each time, and didnt come away looking for more to eat.
Not often do I try a new restaurant and feel amazed. The food was great and presented very well, the customer service was also great! On my visit i felt a calm vibe where everyone was enjoying there dinner, the music was Rancheras y Corridos that felt authentic to Mexican heritage and not to mention they serve a variety of Tequila AÑEJO which in my opinion makes this a better Mexican Restaurant! I will say this isnt a cheap place to eat but it is definitely worth it! Will be returning for sure !
My family and I visited for the first time today after several months of wanting to stop in. Bety was our server and she was fantastic. She reviewed the menu with us and even allowed us to have a small taste of several items to make sure we liked it before ordering. The chips and salsas were fresh, delicious and beautifully plated. My daughter ordered the chicken tortilla soup and it was very flavorful and the portion was extremely generous with quality chicken. My husband ordered The Magnifica which included 3 different enchiladas, beef taco, beans and rice. This too was beautifully plated, fresh and utterly delicious. I had the steak fajitas...the best Ive ever eaten with awesome corns and flour tortillas. We did order a tres leches for take away and it looks beautiful in the container. I am so thrilled we decided to stop in today. I felt safe and distanced from other diners. We will be returning within the week! Thank you again to Bety for being so very kind and just absolutely joyful!
Wanted to post pictures of our fresh food but after the first bite we forgot to get a good pic! That’s how good the food is! The owner himself was so welcoming made us feel like longtime friends right at home! Brought us extra salsas to try (the GUERA salsa) absolutely delicious! We ordered the Chilaquiles and the Enchiladas Magnificas, love all the options and diversity they have, literally have delicious Mexican food, burgers and fried rice y’all! Highly recommend! They have a nice little patio and looks like they have a good drink menu! So will definitely be returning! We are locals to the area so we have definitely found our new spot to eat at! Thank you for being here and bringing great food to the community!
A flyer was taped to our front door, so we thought we’d give it a try.The patio caught our eye! 3 TV’s & covered! We were a party of 4 and all order different items, just to “make sure” the food was good. The food was amazing! Not one complaint. The margaritas were on point! The staff was very welcoming and attentive! This IS our new GO TO spot!Riviera’s is a MUST!
Let me tell you about their MENUDO!! Its awesome!! I took my pickiest son to eat a late breakfast, 10 of us total. Everyone enjoyed their food, my 2nd pickiest LOVED their queso variety... OVERALL a great experience, great customer service they treated us like family and really tasty FOOD.. well definitely be back again
My husband and I were recommended to try Rivieras. I have to say that the staff and food was excellent. Our server, Victor, did a wonderful job and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He was very attentive and his service was the best. We were very gracious to the owner who sent over a queso sampler which was amazingly delicious. We ordered the botana platter to try multiple things, and everything was top notch. I ordered the las tejanas and my husband ordered the micos plate - it was scrumptious. For me, I am not able to handle the spicy food like my better half, and they had great options for both of us. Their salsas were great and we both enjoyed them. They also have their own pickled jalapenos and they were most enjoyed by my husband. We will be coming back with our parents to share this delicious food. I am excited to come back and see Victor again!
OMG! Just went here for lunch today with the hubby, and it was FABULOUS! All the staff was great. Victor kept us laughing and was so helpful. Fernando, the chef, was friendly and came out to make sure everything was good. We will definitely be back. LOVE THIS PLACE. You should give them a try for sure.
Such great service 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Family owned and operated. Drinks are done right. Food is fresh and made to order. This is a gem in Balch Springs that nobody really knew about and happy we stumbled on it. Coming back over and over again and taking people with me to spread the word😊
Gave 4 stars due to no greeting, probably supprised to see an African American lol. Walked to bar, asked a lovely lady could I sit myself at the bar, and she gave me a drink menu and chips and salsa. Ordered a chimichanga with mole chicken and mole sauce on top( wasnt on menu but they honored my request). It was great as well as the rice and beans and the mangonada margarita was to die for😍😍( if they add a lil more liquor). Over all I would be back again.
First time trying Rivieras tex mex! I was so satisfied with the presentation of the appetizers, drinks and our dishes! Waiter Julio attended us. 10 out of 10 over all experience! Definitely would recommend to all my family and friends! Will be becoming back to enjoy another great meal!!
A house Margaritas that may gave been no more an 8-10 oz glass cost $8...taste like water!! The food came out cold for most of the party, we were never offered refills on our drinks in the 2.5 hours there. We tried to address several issues regarding the service and the food with management and she did not seem at all concerned. Serving sizes for Chips & Salsa for larger parties or in general should be reevaluated.
Oh my God! Dios Mío.This restaurant has the best of both world and truly Tex-Mex.First, the salsa and chips are a twist of the traditional in that they come in individual cups very well decorated. The salsa selections are out of this world from mild to spicy. If you like spicy, try the creamy guacamole salsita. The main course meal was also remarkable and out of this world. I had the chicken enchiladas with white rice and beans. Outstanding!!!!The dessert was also very tasty. If you place this restaurant in Downtown Dallas or Fort Worth, this place will skyrocket.Thank you
This place was amazing! Food was great and the help was even better! Victor went above and beyond to make sure our experience was amazing. The quesos and salsas were awesome and the magaritas were exquisite. I had the cile rellenó and my wife had the caldo de res and both were fantastic! We cant wait to go back
Riviera’s Comida Tex-Mex is a welcomed addition to Balch Spring. My family and I were greeted by one of the owners which paved the way to their excellent service. Our server, Magda was more than pleasant and made us feel welcomed. The food is without comparison to any Tex-Mex restaurants in Mesquite. We will definitely will be coming back!
Exceptional service by Victor as I learned deep-fried chili relleno to be old style as served a delicious creame sauce over a heated [un-deep-fried] relleno...Margaritas en estilo de Victor zoned this no-longer-HANGRY downtime!DElighted to enjoy this venue, bringing tude|atmosphere of Uptown to The Grove ~ Check it out, late nite to 10!
The only thing disappointing is the title “tex-mex” it’s NOT that, this is AUTHENTIC MEXICAN food. If you like Mi Cocina, Fernando’s and Mesero then you will love Rivieras because it’s all those restaurants but at a better price. This is a gem in Balch Springs you will leave only to want to return again.
They need to pay more attention to their dishes and food, Monday night what a great disappointment I was left thinking that because I was visiting the kitchen it would be a success but not the cold food for more than one hour so that the appetizer will arrive to you endless things .... greetings !!!It is not about opening a restaurant copy your concept is also neededHaha nice try Rivieras Tex mexAtte Arturo Addeniwe HernandezThe cheap copy of (Waiter)Waiters wait people from highland park in Balch Springs the play went wrong the waiter thought we were not going to say anything because we are HispanicIf you dont believe me, the owner can check his recording of 11/01/21That we left all the food cold and even the cheese was cut from how cold the plate was

2022-04-01Found this hidden gem in Balch Springs. This place served authentic Mexican food. Plates are not big so you can’t share with someone else. LolThe chicken mole and flautas were savory. The staff was welcoming and super nice. The place is big. It can host big tables. There is also large tvs to watch soccer or other sports.

2022-02-20Good authentic Mexican food served here for sure! Staff is great, food is always hot an tasteful. They also bring three different salsas and chips to the table. And if you like a beer with your meal this is the place to try! My only complaint might food is a tad pricey.

2021-07-02I was blown away by how great of an experience I had at Rivieras. Incredible!!First off, the restaurant was clean, had great tables, and great background music. We were sat right away and given chips and a salsa trio to eat at while we looked at the menu. The staff were very helpful and nice. We felt like family. It was hard to choose what to get, but I decided on the Magnificas. It came with a cheese enchilada, beef enchilada, and chicken enchilada, with taco, beans, and rice. The flavor was insane. I think Rivieras puts incredible attention to detail to their food, and makes it stand out. It certainly is better than your average Tex-mex. these guys are legit!Everyone at my table cleared their plates and were constantly saying how good the food was. We finished off with a cuatro leches cake, which was devoured in less than 10 seconds.Thank you to the all that helped us tonight! We look forward to coming again

2021-02-04Rivieras is a hidden gem! You are treated with great hospitality and the food is made with so much love & so delicious!! They will literally make it how you want it. Not to mention the fresh handmade margaritas! The owners said we were their first customers since 1pm.. its 7pm now.. Please help support local business & spread the word! They have an outside patio area as well.

2021-01-27Place was extremely clean, one thing I really like was the customer service, the two waitress were super polite and very friendly.. Food was really good, I like their plates presentation very nice, where food looks really tasty. Food temperature was on point cant complaint about that.. A very nice casual / semi-formal place, very affordable.. the only thing I would recommend is to place sings saying Please wear your Facemask at all times when you are not eating so customers know.

2022-07-07We went in at around 7:30 on a Wednesday. It was empty which I thought was strange. When the food came it was even more strange because it was great!! 3 salsas came with the complimentary chips and the queso was pretty good too. Please visit this place if youre a local or just passing through. Fresh tex mex at a reasonable price. Loved it!
