Roman Cucina in other cities:
Roman Cucina is a consistently delicious hidden gem! My hubby and I enjoyed going here a few years ago when we were just starting to date and now we enjoy going years later after starting our family. The food is fantastic, atmosphere is always warm and inviting, and the staff always treat you kindly and with respect. Thanks for another delicious date night, Roman Cucina!
Portions are huge. Aside, you get soup or salad with an entrée which makes the price a great deal. The servers went above and beyond my expectations, much so that i felt compelled to give a bit more than the added gratuity for the large party. This will definitely become my go-to for Italian.
Stopped in for a bite after an exhausting wedding weekend! Two alcoholic beverages, bruschetta, and a pizza set us back $45, but boy was it worth it! The bruschetta was HUGE! It was delicious, loaded, and a surprising size for being an appetizer--we didnt finish half of it and ended up taking it home, simply because we knew a pizza was on its way. We did a custom pizza with three toppings, and it was the perfect amount for two people after the (free) freshly baked bread, bruschetta, and dinner salad that we had moments beforehand. We didnt finish the pizza either, so we managed to bring home enough food for both of us to eat a large lunch tomorrow... And trust me, my husband and I can put down food like theres no tomorrow.Awesome service (I didnt get the waitress name but she was so kind and attentive) and food! We will definitely visit again next time were in Allen. :)
Weve lived in Allen since 1998 and FINALLY tried Roman Cucina. We decided with the Covid nightmare our local businesses have experienced it was important to shop local. We, too, own two businesses in Allen and know how much we appreciate our clients choosing us so we looked at close restaurants and picked Roman Cucina because had never been. We dont often eat out at Italian Restaurants, not that we werent interested in Roman Cucina specifically. After having visited Italy a few summers ago we have developed a love for authentic Italian restaurants because it enables us to relive the memories. Roman Cucina did not disappoint. The food was delicious. The restaurant has a very authentic feel to it. The pizza was straight out of Capri! We really enjoyed our visit and have since returned several times. If you havent tried Roman Cucina youre missing out. Put it on the list and enjoy a taste of Italy right here in Allen with your own family.
The food is delicious!! Ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, added broccoli and pesto sauce on the side with chicken milanese. The extra charge was about 1.25 for the broccoli n sauce. Came with a refreshing salad that even my 20 month old ate from... finished up my order with a lemon cheesecake to go. And that was super yummy as well.
My favorite restaurant!! Everything is amazing, but my top recommendations are caprese or bruschetta for appetizer, rosa with fettuccine and chicken breast or aglio olio with penne and shrimp for main course, and of course a cannoli for dessert! Also, get an olazzo martini, you wont regret it!!Also, this is a great, family-owned, authentic Italian restaurant! Clean and great service every time!
Yesterday (02/20/2021) we ordered Calzone and it was completely burnt. very disappointed. Never thought you will serve burnt food to customer.Update on 02/24/2021Updating the review. Owner reached out and acknowledged that it was a honest mistake with a to-go order. Addressed our concern and changed it back to be a pleasant experience. Thanks David, will return back again!
We have visited Dallas once a summer for the past 5 years. This place is our family favorite. Everything tastes fresh. The servings are large and the price is VERY reasonable. The atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is attentive. We have been to both locations and enjoyed both. The homemade tiramisu was out of this world!!! We are every bit despite being stuffed from eating eggplant appetizer and wedding soup with our meal. Highly highly recommend this place!!!
My first time here.. What a amazing experience the food was great but the service that was provided to me and my family was top notch service.i was there for my daughters birthday we did reservation we were a little late do to the weather there was no issues on there part everything was moving smoothly i and my family appreciate you guys.our waitress Gracewas amazing she was on top of things with drinks being refilled making sure we had what we needed.and David was also so helpful the whole staff was great they were working as a team and the restaurant was busy.i wish all the staff the very best.. And i look forward to going back with my wife for a date night hopefully very soon
All around great Italian place. I got the pasta and sausage and it was great. Theres not much sauce but the pasta doesnt need a lot as the flavor was delicious. They give you complementary bread and butter, which was delicious. Each entrée comes with a side salad and as someone who hardly eats salad, this was outstanding. It kind of reminded me of Greek salad because it was light and had a olive oil vinaigrette. Id come back just to eat the salad if possible. Great atmosphere as the lights are dimmed and they have a great selection of wine and cocktails.
Great Atmosphere, pretty clean, crazy wait times. Food quality - well... It was decent..... The lasagna had tons of layers of lasagna noodles and micro thin amounts of ricotta cheese between each layer of lasagna noodles. The Italian Sausage was kinda like the sausage you might get on a pizza from Dominos Pizza. The sauce didnt have any real zest. When they asked if I wanted some parmesean I said yes and they handed me a parm shaker - LOL - I thought theyd at least have a lil parm shaver like the Olive Garden - The wine list - that was horrible - no decent cabernet or Merlot. How are you going to market yourself as an Italian place without decent wine?If you like American Italian then this is your place.... if you like real Italian - this is not for you at all.
Roman Cucina is absolutely the top Italian restaurant in Allen. The food and service is always outstanding and the ambiance is equally nice. My wife and I have been dining there regularly since it opened. However, this past Wednesday, which is half off any bottle of wine night, was the last time we will dine there. We are in our sixties and decided to order 2 appetizers and a bottle of wine. When the server took our credit card, a manager brought it back with the check and abruptly said from now on, we would have to order entrees to receive the half off bottle of wine.I understand that the costs of doing business are rising on everything, but if you are changing your policy for a weekly special, why couldnt your server explained it in the beginning or maybe a note on your menu where the special is advertised. We had no idea till the rude manager came to our table with the checkand spoiled what up until then was a wonderful evening. We called when we got owner hoping to receive an apology, but no such luck, neither the owner or the manager would back down or apologize , so sad to see greed has become more important to them than regular customers.
This place is wonderful. It is so beautiful and well decorated. Food is delicious. Everything is fresh and taste is amazing. Generous portions. Probably one of the best fried calamari I ever had. We came here on a busy Friday night and service was really good. Servers were very attentive and no delays with food . If you are craving delicious Italian food this is the place to go. Im so happy we have this place in Allen. Thank you Roman Cucina ! We will be back
Just tried Roman Cucina last night for the first time and it was the BEST Italian take out I have ever had! Jacob who took our order and brought out for curbside was very personable. The food was outstanding, ordered Chicken Fettuccini and Lasagna Bolognese with Mozzarella Garlic bread. Both were hands down a 10+. This will be our new go to for Italian, excited to try new items. Thanks for the great experience-Jill
Beautiful building, inside and out!Greeted and seated immediately!Haley was our waitress...outstanding, happy, professional and knowledgeable! My husband and I split the Lasagna with ground beef...my husband is almost 74 years old and said it was the best Lasagna he had ever eaten!Cozy atmosphere and loved all the pictures and wall decor! There was waitstaff constantly moving in and around the dining tables so every empty dish removed every glass filled and every need was met! Fantastic! We are visiting from Ohio so Roman Cucina was recommended by a friend and we are very grateful! (We even purchased two gift certificates.)To sum up in one word our evening, our food, the service and our total experience... that word would be:EXCELLENCE!Go and enjoy!
Stepped in & was greeted by Friendly staff. We ordered calamari. Recieved a basket of bread & little packaged butter while we waited. It was crunchy outside, soft inside. Calamari came with marinra sauce, it was good too. I ordered the fett alfredo with shrimp plus milanese chicken, was pretty good..needed a lil more alfredo sauce tho. The pizza was bomb we ordered the one with the meats. Both came with small salads nice crunchy & cold. Ill be back but Ill make sure to tell them to add sauce to my pasta
This place met the expectations after reading the positive reviews. Fantastic food, drinks, and atmosphere. We loved the round booth allowing conversation. The Eggplant Parm, Italian wedding soup and salads were excellent! I had the house drink (forget the name) that is their version of an old fashioned. It was very well made. Great job to the owners and employees!!
If youre in the mood for Italian food, I can say, you wont find any better than Roman Cucina. The absolute best Chicken Fettuccine Ive ever had. Their bread is to die for. Great atmosphere. Just an all-around wonderful dining experience every time we go. Highly recommend it.
Absolutely love this local restaurant! Our family celebrated our daughter’s birthday last night at the Allen location and couldn’t have had a better dinner! Fantastic service from our waitress, the food was awesome and they made sure to pace the meal. They got the kids food out fast so we could get them started, which makes a huge difference for parents.
Best Italian food in the two State area of Texas and Louisiana! The entrees came out hot and were freshly made. The spaghetti with meatballs and sausage was awesome. The pizzas were well made and delicious. Really, everything ordered by our family of 14 was very good. The complimentary crunchy crusted bread was also hot and was served with butter before and during the meal. The salad before the meal was made with fresh greens and in-house vinaigrette dressing. Before you eat somewhere else, try this place. The prices are very reasonable and the service was excellent. Thomas and crew were top notch and all were very polite. We will definitely be back.
This is a lovely place for a date night. Candlelight, with daily specials and very nice staff. I had the spaghetti with creamy tomato sauce with shrimp, very delicious, tasteful and a great portion. The atmosphere is so lovely, wall décor is unique and creative.Overall, I would recommend 10/10.
Love kids eat free night. I love this place anyway, however, this past experience was less than I expected. I believe pur server was new, she was nice, but Ill informed. I ordered my favorite a fuoco because of the lobster...Lobster... I add shrimp. My food was delivered and no lobster...Lobster... shrimp. When I told our server, she said she forgot to tell me they were out! To be honest I would have chosen a different dish had I known.Still good though...just need some more training.
One of the best Italian restaurants in the area. If you are an Italian sausage fan like me, you cant go wrong. Several dishes with whole sausages. Their calamari appetizer is prepared perfectly, light, delicious breading and no rubbery pieces. Can be a bit of a wait on weekends, but worth it.
Still the best Italian restaurant in the area. The pizza is good, but the pasta runs circles around all other places in DFW that we have found. Great service, management, and food. Absolutely our go-to Italian restaurant. Get there early though, since it fills up fast.
Very enjoyable. Excellent food, especially good lasagna, with options. The staff and barman now remember us, perhaps do to my somewhat unusual cocktail orders, making the experience something like you see in James Bond movies where they meet him at the door with Welcome back Mr. Bond. 😉
This is OUR PLACE! I liked it from the first time I went. Now it is where my wife and I always want to go for a quick bite. The food AND service hit different. The ONLY bad thing I can say is that they dont take reservations. I would have probably eaten there twice as often if we could always get a table.
I usually do not write reviews unless a place really stands out..and Roman Cucina definitely did! I had passed this restaurant while driving several times over the past few years and finally decided to give it a try with the family. Everything from the wait staff to the food was absolutely amazing. The girl we had waiting our table was very peppy and cheerful, very knowledgeble about the menu and accomodating for my daughter who has lactose intolerance. I am not a salad person, but the house vinigerette they use was so good I asked if I could purchase a container to take home which they let me. Food portions were pretty big and we will definitely be going back again!
I saw great reviews on it and decided to try it out since my go to place is closed on Sundays. Walked in and the place was dark and romantic looking. Great for a night out with your significant other. I went with my family and as I walked in, already thinking shoot, I didnt make reservations. Was greeted by the hostess and she ask how many people in my party. I said 6 and she came back with a manager who said, they had lots of huge parties tonight and if it would be okay if he sat us in the round booth. Of course it was okay and the 6 of us fitted comfortably in that booth. The manager seated us and said that our waiter is with a large table and she will be right with us. But he went ahead and took our drink orders and told us the specials they had. Gave us a few minutes and the waitress came and took our orders. The drinks came and bread came together. We started with the Calamaris which were delicious. My boys loved it. My husband and I ordered each of the specials. Sorry, forgot what it was but all I remembered is that it was good. Lots of sauce and very creamy, that is how I like my pasta. My brother got the lemon cream sauce and shrimp, my boys got the pasta bolognese and sausages and peppers pasta. Everyone said theirs tasted really good. Just a fair warning, the portions were huge.Overall, everything was great from the decor, to the manger, waitress, and food. Oh and the price is very fair for a great Italian restaurant. We had a great experience. The best part was that the waitress was awesome. She explained everything to us and was so attentive to us even though we saw that she had a table of like 20 right next to us but still came and check on us. I wish I remembered her name. Will definitely be back. Sorry for not having any pictures. Next time, there will be pictures.
We gave this restaurant another try after a takeout order was subpar and are we glad we did!! Service was super attentive and very helpful. We were with another couple and everyone was very pleased. Shrimp Scampi was very good, eggplant parmigiana was good, sautéed mushrooms and the meatball mozzarella with ricotta was phenomenal!! Chose a Cabernet that was excellent. All four of us will definitely be back. Thank you soooo much for an enjoyable evening!!
Good food. Friendly staff. Got sat in a booth in the very back corner. The corner seat is sweltering hot. No air movement at all. Sort of ruined my meal as I had to ask my entire family to move so I go outside into the summer heat and cool off. I came back in an my wife swapped me spots. She was unable to bear the stagnant heat for just so long. We got our foods to go.Everything was well made. Timing meals is a bit of an issue. Each meal was brought out individually with about 20 minutes between the first and last of 8. We did go during peak business ours after the quarantine release though so not going to hold that against them. Will be back. Hopefully not the the hot seat though.
Went with a party of 13. The food was a mix of different plates. Overall the food was good. Some things were great and some just not to our personal liking. The pasta is al dente. The sauce was a good tomato sauce, not sweet but not spicy either. The portions are big. I ordered the meat lasagna. The meat was placed on top, its not cooked in the lasagna and I would have liked more cheese but, it was really good. I would order it again but, just cheese lasagna next time. The staff, fantastic. The service, outstanding. The restaurant was really nice looking, clean. Just fyi, its a bit dark inside, which personally I liked.
We have been to the Allen location many times and for the most part the dishes have been very good. The pizza to me is the best around with my favorite being the margherita and the piccante. Service is mostly very good but on occasion we have had some slow service during the dinner rush. No surprise, right? To be expected at most if not all restaurants. The wait time can be long on Fridays and Saturdays but well worth it.
We love this place!!! The food is delicious and the service is excellent. This is honestly one of the most well managed restaurants in DFW. Seriously, my husband and I are always amazed at how well the servers and manager take care of us and the other tables. I order meatballs with a side of ricotta almost anytime we eat here because they are simply the best but everything else weve eaten here has been so good too. Highly recommend!
Great Italian food! You can tell that they use fresh pasta which tastes nice and fresh. They have some basic Italian dishes but always listen to the specials. I had the special which was lobster ravioli and it was delicious. Plus when I went they had half priced bottles of wine!
This is a fantastic Italian restaurant! We took my mother-in-law there for dinner last night and they provided great food and service, even though it was Mothers Day weekend. My brother-in-law recommended this place and now will be one of go to for Italian cuisine. Thank you Roman Cucina!
Went for a party as they have a big room in the back for parties. This area isnt my stomping ground. The service was very fast and efficient. Pre-fixe menu of chicken Alfredo, Chicken Parmesana and Lasagna were all excellent. Best Italian food Ive had in a long time. Not a fan of Chicken Alfredo but I went back for a second serving! Loved the tribute to famous Italians on the hallway to and in the bathroom 😂. Not many places have Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA on tap and this was my go-to for the night. The only finger wag I will give here is that, if youre going to serve Italian wine that is THAT good, at least have some Antinori wines (Peppoli is cheap) on the menu, or a Brunello or an Amarone or at least some variety of Italian whites and reds for those who are wanting to spend a little extra. This was a wine distributor set list and it showed. One chianti option didnt even taste like a chianti. All in all though, the experience was awesome, and if this place was 15 minutes from the house we would probably be here just about every weekend!
Amazing food and takeout experience. As good as the hype surrounding it - takeout was amazing!!! Everything was clearly freshly made and with care. We had a sampling of multiple pastas, a sandwich, the salads and appetizers and literally no complaints for anyone! Fresh bread was a plus and quick and friendly service.
We really enjoy the food here. The owner has stopped by our table personally to share his recommendations and they were excellent. We love the chicken Milanese and chicken parmigiana. The calamari is great too. The staff is always polite and the ambiance is great for a date night or out with family. This place is a gem and a total must try in Allen!
This place has the best margarita pizza that I ever had. All the dishes I have tried have the freshest ingredients and are cooked to perfection. These days I get take away more than dinning in. However they have implemented all the COVID safety measures to make dine in safe.
This place is true Italian food and simply delicious. The three men who own this place are very hands on and always in their restaurants. They rotate between the Allen and Richardson restaurants and they take care of business. So service is always good. The food is delicious. They will tell you their menu/recipes come from their Italian mother and it’s good food. I love the Mozzarella garlic bread, the Gianna and the Italian wedding soup. Drinks and wine are also good. Love this place.

This is my favorite place to go when craving Italian! The food is excellent! One of our first visits there the manager came to ask about our meal, and we discussed the wedding soup; I make it every Christmas. He sent me home with a container of soup and a loaf of bread so that I could try it. I prefer my Wedding soup with Italian greens, not spinach, but it was still good. Love the eggplant parm! I take everyone who visits there for dinner.
Wow! Great Service every time. This is our close to home go to. Wait staff keeps the glass full and empty plates off the table. Food is some of the best Italian you can get without a passport. Decor is nice and comfortable, bathrooms are clean as is the rest of the restaurant. I will keep going back and I tell my friends about this little get away.
Ive heard good things for a while and finally gave it a try this evening. We were seated in Thomass section and he was great! For starters we had the sauteed mushrooms and the pepperoni cheese bread, both were amazing. I had the Ala Checa added shrimp as the protein (may be spelling wrong) and its literally my new favorite meal/restaurant. Hands down. Hubby had the chicken milanese and alfredo pasta, he was a fan!Forgot to talk about the $5 martinis on Thursdays -- LOVE! So good. Everything! I cant wait to go back!
My friend and I loved dining here. We hadnt been before and it was close by the nail place we came from. They seated us quickly. Our servers were attentive, friendly, and fast to take care of us. We loved the fresh hot bread, and were pleasantly surprised with the bruschetta we ordered. They were thick and delicious! Salad and pasta portions were just right and according to my friend, the tiramisu was *chefs kiss*.Next time, Im bringing my family!
My fiance and I absolutely loved our evening dining here. The staff were super friendly, and always checking up on us if we needed anything. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere of the place is really nice. We will definitely be back, so give them a try if you havent, you wont regret it! 👍
This place is AMAZING. The staff is so friendly, attentive, and makes sure everything is perfect. We literally had 5 different employees refill our drinks during our dining experience and check in on us. The food is affordable, tastes absolutely amazing, and the dining atmosphere is so nice. I highly recommend coming here, you will not be disappointed. This was our first time and we will definitely be back soon! Thank you so much for the amazing food and service.
This is our familys favorite Italian spot. Dining in or taken to go, the food is always on point. We love the bruschetta-- fresh bread (and NOT like a crostini that breaks your teeth), perfectly melty cheese, fresh-cut tomatoes... delicious. Our favorite pastas are the Gianni, the lasagna, and the sausage bolognese (try it with a side of ricotta *chefs kiss*). Their raviolis are also excellent, as is the chicken parmigiana. Dont even get me started on the desserts. We always enjoy great service here, but the food, yall. The food is so good.
YUM. We came in around 5:30-6 on a Sunday night and were seated right away. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. Great space and ambience. Enough noise so I didn’t feel stressed about having my 1yo boy with us. Waiter was cool. They brought out warm delicious bread my husband took down and the house salad was fresh and tasty. He had the chicken Alfredo and I had the creamy lemon sauce and shrimp. Came out fast, hot and pretty. We both devoured our entrees. It was SO good!! Thank you.
Best Italian food I have ever had, and I have been to Italy! Ambiance is straight out of Goodfellas, service is magnifico, prices are very reasonable. Get the pasta and meatballs (their way!) with spicy Italian sausage and a dollop of Ricotta cheese on top. You will not be disappointed 😍
Its been awhile, but I am so glad I came back! The service and food were impeccable. The bread is amazing. I ordered fettuccine alfedo w/ chicken & musrooms, great flavor. My friend ordered pasta gianni, great flavor with a kick! The portions are plentiful, so ask for a box.
This place always is great! They were able to accommodate 40+ take out orders for a dine at home event for our organization - with just 1-days notice; even accommodated some food allergies! Food & atmosphere is always amazing - it tops our recommended list every time. THANK YOU!
This is a great family run Italian restaurant. The staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable, the quality is too notch and the chef, team and management make a great teamMy favorite things on the menu are- eggplant parmigiana- Aglio olio pasta- Calamari fritti- Caprese salad- pasta and meatballsIf you haven’t tried it yet then please go ahead and try out Roman Cucina. They are excellent for take out or dine in and fully ensure that all COVID19 protocols are followed.Kudos to the Roman Cucina team!
Ladies and Gentlemen I bring you a tragic story of the forgotten pizza. Here I am, enjoying my fabulous meal, dimly lit by the fake candles probably purchased at the dollar store. Me and my fellow seniors in our homecoming group decide to order a pizza, not no ordinary pizza. This pizza contains Italian sausage, basil... and lobster. This pizza arrived and our mouths began to water. The aroma coming from the pizza brought us back to a time of happiness. That happiness quickly ended as the check came, but we had hope as we planned to take this pizza to an after party and indulge in the lobster goodness. We then sign our checks and prepare to leave and as I leave I see my friend looking at the pizza box. I think, ahhh hes got it sadly, he did not have it. We reach the after party and we greet him with open arms until we come to the realization of, there is no pizza. Our hopes and dreams were crushed. We no take a moment of silence at the beginning of everyday for the forgotten pizza. Thank you for your time.
Great food every time. Good size portions. Great service. They open at 5 PM but they get packed fast. I live in Houston but I always try to go to Roman Cucina when I visit the Dallas area. Ive known Roman Cucina since before they moved from California. This is one of the best Italian restaurants, period.
Nice newer building and furnishings. Very clean and well maintained. Service was very good. Staff was very attentive and professional. Food was very good. We had margherita pizza and Italian sausage lasagna. They have multiple varieties of lasagna. The base noodles are all the same, different sauces are added on the top to make the various menu items. While still good, this doesnt allow them to be as good as they could be. Recommend.
Absolute worth the wait when there is one. Appetizers are delightful, had the calamari perfectly cooked with just the right chewiness. Bread comes with the meal and it is a perfect crusty bread. For main meal had the mushroom ravioli, the filling was perfectly balanced. The sauce was decadent and wonderfully flavorful. I look forward to the next time I am fortunate to be in the area again so that I can eat here.
We either dine here or order to go about once a month. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is great. We have never had to experience a wait for a table which is always a plus. Best dish is the Gianni if you like spicy but you cant go wrong with any of their menu items. The staff keeps the drinks filled constantly and are a pleasure to talk to.
We love the atmosphere and the service. The staff is always so courteous and attentive to customer needs. Food portions are large and kidz menu covers a variety of choices for Italian. Love that we always get a follow up call on our reservation. I do recommend a reservation if you have a party of 6 or more. It always has a wait, but its SO worth it.
Service was excellent and the food was wonderful. I would also like to send a big shout out to my server Cheyenne, she explained the menu items with great knowledge. My recommend dish by my server was to try the sausage mozzarella. I have got to say it was one of the best things Ive ever had. Ill definitely be coming back for more.
The atmosphere is great. Makes you forget youre basically in a strip mall area. The food is pretty good and huge portions. The service was pretty rushed though. My wife and I just wanted to catch up, while enjoying the food and felt like we were being rushed along to flip the table.
Best kept secret little Italian restaurant with personal family feel, but also a nice atmosphere and nice furnishings. The wait staff is very nice and seems that theyve been trained to be very attentive and concerned with patrons satisfaction. The food is very good and has some aspects that are from scratch and homemade and they typically have some very tasty specials. Collin has been our waiter a few times and he does a great job!
I went here a couple of months back hoping that it would be a mind blowing experience. I was wrong. The place is just an average Americanized Italian joint. I was disappointed with the quality and taste of the pasta I got. Their menu is what youd find in most places. I got the fettuccine alfredo. The service was average at best it has a really dark decor feeling to the place. Kind of romantic kind of vibe if you need that kind if atmosphere in Allen.
About as good as it gets for food quality and service! We sampled many restaurants before we decided on Roman Cucina to host our rehearsal dinner and as soon as we walked in for the first meal, we knew it was the place for us. For our first visit, we had the calamari for an appetizer, and the beef lasagna/chicken alfredo for our entrees. For desert, we had the cheesecake (I dont even like cheesecake) and it was outstanding. If you are looking to host a large party, I HIGHLY recommend using them as they have a huge room that can seat up to 90 people I believe (we had 50 people for a rehearsal dinner). They serve family style and we chose the lasagna/chicken alfredo again + a meatless pasta. We also had 8 orders of calamari and served wine on top of it all. The servers for our dinner were outstanding and made all of our guests feel at home. They also had a great sound system which set the mood nicely.I cant say enough about this restaurant and how good they are. I will continue to be a customer and tell everyone about them!
Attended a wedding rehearsal dinner here. Service was great. They couldnt have been nicer to us. They even made special arrangements for a couple of people who had special food needs. The food itself was good, not great. Im not certain about prices since I didnt have to pay for anything. The ambiance of the restaurant itself was nice. Overall, I enjoyed the experience very much.
My Favorite Italian restaurant! The staff is usually friendly... usually. There is generally a wait even on weeknights so go off peak hours. The chicken parm is so good! So is the shrimp pasta and the bruschetta!! Everything tastes fresh, and the atmosphere is nice! Great for a date night or a night out with the family.
Great place....its my wifes favorite restaurant. I see some reviews about not being authentic Italian. Im not sure about authentic, but its great American Italian.I love the bread, possibly the best lasagna anywhere huge portions, full bar. Great staff, very busy on Fridays and Saturday.
The food was absolutely delicious, the portions substantial, and the prices very reasonable. What really stood out for me beyond this, though, was the quality of the staff. The hostesses, the bartender, our waitress, the manager, and others were courteous, helpful, and simply outstanding. If you appreciate superior service and an enjoyable dining experience, you should definitely give Roman Cucina a try!
The restaurant building itself was really nice inside...the food was really good, huge servings, so take home for lunch... But we had 6 at our table and was served one small basket of bread that I think was cut into four small pieces. We asked if we could have two baskets of bread but were still served only one... And we had to ask for more bread, several times. We listened to Conway Twitty as our background music, which didnt really set the tone for Italian food... So thats why the three stars... it was just off... I would possibly visit one more time to see if its a different atmosphere.
There is a wait usually about 10 to 15 minutes even though they may tell you about 30. The food is good that is for sure. Authentics Italian and it is such a plenty that you end up having to take some home. The atmosphere is a little loud a little dark or should I say romantic evening light. So make sure you take your reading glasses. Other than that everything else is just fabulous and the servers are very friendly and knowledgeable of their food products
This was our first visit and the food was too notch. We ordered the Gianni and Spicy Italian sausage Lasagna because of the reviews and let me tell you that the food arrived hot and you could tell right away that the ingredients were home made.Well be definitely returning with friends and family.
Good food just not 3 exceptional. Friendly generally attentive service. Less than pro in clearing course dishes as meal progressed. Entrees over an salad clearance. Parmesan cheese was a shaker dropped off, not fresh grinder. $14 price of entree admission. Ok. Average.
This will probably be my favorite Italian restaurant... The food was excellent, presentation was beautiful, portion was perfect, service was superb, and the price was... well, I cant complain. On weekend evenings, you will have to wait for you table unless your dinner is at 5pm... Our family is coming back real soon...!
Based on the reviews, we had really high hopes for this restaurant. Unfortunately we were disappointed in both the food and the service. We actually had our waitress roll her eyes out at us when I politely asked if we could have more time to look at the menu. This was indicative of what the rest of our service was going to be like. We werent offered any recommendations or told the specials. As far as the food, it was very bland. The pasta and meatballs were dry and lacked flavor. The fettuccine and shrimp was good with a decent chesse sauce.
Retired friend returned back to the Dallas area and we dined at Roman Cucina. Started with house bruschetta, generous portion. Great starter, house salad was included with entrees and it was very crispy and dressing was tasty. Margarita pizza was thin crust, very beautiful presentation. Pasta was cooked to perfection and wine selection was deep. All in all a good time was had by all, did not hurt the pocketbook either
We went here (Allen location) for my wife’s birthday and ordered 2 pizzas, lasagna and chicken parmigiana. All dishes were HEAVILY over-salted and the sauces in both the lasagna and chicken parm were far worse than the generic sauce you can buy at your local grocery store. It is understood that the red sauce tends to be on the salty side but it tasted like someone just dropped a salt shaker in the plates. I do want to note that our server was professional and handled the situation very well and the manager did the right thing and compensated us for the meals. Based on other reviews, I’m assuming this just might have been an off-night but we won’t take the risk and visit again anytime soon.
Our 1st time here, so brought the family. Monday is kids eat free, so a bonus before we even sit down! Typical kids stuff, pepp pizza, spaghetti with big meatball, and buttered pasta. All goes down smoothly. Wife had eggplant parmesan, which she took home because she didnt finish. I had special ravioli, which was good, but too many mushrooms. Garlic bread was good. Overall, good. Not great. No surprises and we probably would return.
Unbelievable food and service, not to mention the crazy cheap prices for the quantity and quality of food they give you for those prices. Being a business owner myself, Its amazed how they can make a decent profit on those low prices. My family and I go there once a week and cant get enough of the spaghetti and meatballs. The calamari is the best Ive ever tasted and Ive been to all the best Italian restaurants in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
I loved EVERYTHING Ive ever had there, including drinks. The owners come and say hi and the workers always recognize us/ me. If she is still there, make sure you stop at the bar and grab a drink from Becky. She remembers our names and what is going on in our lives. True blue bartender and VERY good at what she does. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try!
Best food in Allen!!! Ive enjoyed the Dallas location for a while but its nice to have one closer to McKinney. The food is amazing to say the least. Ive eaten in Italy before and this is just as good if not better. The atmosphere is also a great! Staff is very friendly and welcoming to you from the moment you walk in and they take care of you no matter what you need.If you in the area I highly recommend this place, You wont be disappointed!
I was really looking forward to eating here we brought friends from out of town to what he hoped would be an amazing Italian meal, the salads were very crispy and well seasoned, their table service was attentive however we were just not impressed with a few things for example the pasta and sausage dish was dry and the sausage was not spicy as advertised. My daughter had fettuccine alfredo and it was extremely oily instead of creamy overall I wouldnt recommended because their prices just font match the value of their menu
Great bread, good soup, great pesto, great alfredo; and months ago I think I really liked the creamy marinara (Rosa). Highly recommend. Even kids cheese pizza was great! In laws liked the calzone and pasta marinara with meatballs.Monday nights Kids eat free (with adult purchase)Tuesdays BOHO adult.Average price per person....$15? Truly enough pasta for 2nd day leftovers.
We have been in Allen for 17 years and had never been here. I dont know why. Every time I look for a new place, this place is always at the top of the review charts. I am a picky Italian food person as I grew up in NYC and dated an Italian girl for a very long time and Sunday supper was an occasion, not just a meal. This place lived up to the reputation. Sometimes the little things make a big impression. The bar is ready to move your check to the table so you dont have to tab out 2x, that is not common and its great. The food was fantastic. Got the pepperoni garlic bread which is basically like getting an Italian bread pizza for an app but with great ingredients. Save room for desert. I know, youve had tiramisu before but you havent had THIS tiramisu, trust me have a glass of Presecco with it, you can write me to thank me. The only thing I am sorry about is that we had not tried this place sooner. The staff was wonderful. Thanks Tiffany!
Awesome for dates. So so fresh. Good Italian food. The server we had was in a huge rush had to tell him we be there a long time so please slow down. The table behind us had to do the same. Wouldnt base that on a return trip. Excellent. Wish they had chicken picatta though. :)
Good, welcoming atmosphere for this Italian restaurant. Decently-priced, delicious items on their menu, friendly staff, and plenty of conversation pieces on the walls.Possibly the one weakness of this establishment? The wait time for a table at dinner time and the wait for the food to be delivered.
Just okay for us. What I didnt like is thr option for cheese, beef, or sausage lasagna, and all it was was pizza toppings piled on top of cheese lasagna so you could call it beef lasagna. Just not a classy way to do Italian. Either do or right or just offer one kind in my opinion.
We have visited this place 5 or 6 times, even though it is only a few months old. Every meal has been very good. The chicken parm is huge, and good. Wednesday nights is half price wine bottle. The menu is not well laid out, but if you take the time to figure it out, the food is all good.

2022-01-04The ambiance was gorgeous and inviting. We were seated very quickly. Our waitress was top shelf. The music was eclectic but not disturbingly so, in fact, it was very pleasant and appealing. Then we ordered. The food service was quick and delicious. I loved everything about this restaurant and to top it all off, we were celebrating our 28th anniversary and they hit it out of the park. Thank you for such a wonderful evening.

2022-02-15Been coming here for years. The food has always been great. They do accommodate for those with dietary restrictions, so talk to you server. Also, the service has always been great as well! They are attentive without being “in your face” the entire time. The drinks are great! A bit strong, but I’m not complaining. The interior is pretty as well. This is my favorite Italian restaurant to go to, I prefer this location over the Dallas one.

2022-06-14Enjoyed our dinner for 2! Great martini selection! Ordered the Bada Bing which was a little sweet but very good. Fresh bread was warm, soft and not too scrunchy on the outside unlike some Italian breads served. Calamari was splendid, no unnecessary breading or salt. My dish was exquisite, A Fuoco! Generous scallops and spinach with sauce so delish I could eat it by itself. Hubby enjoyed his sausage lasagna also with generous amount of sausage. Best part of this gem, was 4 different servers offered to refill our beverages, this is telling you they work as a team to take care of customers. Before we left, our beautiful server (forgot her name) mentioned all the weekly specials and said “please come back” which we will.

2021-09-15Had a great experience at this restaurant. The wedding soup was delicious and so was the special of mushroom ravioli. The ambiance was great and the staff was friendly for new customers. Will do again when I visit Texas.

2021-10-11Service was great and the food was delicious! The only thing that I wasn’t crazy over was the tiramisu, it was just ok. But everything else was yummy and they give you large portions!

This is a great restaurant for date night as well as family friendly, as well as a good private event location. If you havent tried it yet, I highly recommend you do soon and it will quickly become your go to feel good, tummy satisfied Italian eatery.

2022-02-15After being told this establishment allows 1 free kids meal with an entree purchase every Monday. Verified online and called in today to ask before making arrangements to take the children there for valentines. After waiting an hour and a half after being told 45 minutes, when my check arrived, I found out tonight that they do not do that on holidays. This place is considering Valentine’s Day as a holiday… The “nightly specials” do not specify. Pasta was alright, I’ve had better at Olive Garden. Pizza was not good at all. The only hot food I got was my appetizer which the plate felt like it came straight out of the microwave. The waitress was very dry and acted as tho she could not be bothered. Very snobby when I asked about the Monday special too. Kids liked it tho🤷🏻♂️ I’ll go back to Sicilys in McKinney.

2022-01-07I like this place a lot. Id describe it as New Jersey/New York Italian. Thats probably not a thing but it accurately describes the type of food. Another good description is homemade and delicious! Their dinner specials are always something amazing and I also love the veal parmesan. Its is a great value for the money especially if you can take advantage of the daily special deals. Finally, Id like to say I always feel comfortable with the staff and customers here...like its a hug from family. Congratulations to the owners and staff for a job well done. Go and check it out yourself.

2022-01-07Loved the food! They have a wonderful white chocolate martini that is only $5 on Thursdays! The only downside was there is usually a long wait for a table. Overall worth the wait (by the bar while drinking the martinis). The portions are large and the prices are affordable.

2021-08-15Beautiful restaurant with very good food. Very romantic lighting and curved booths for a dinner date. Also suited for families. Shrimp fettuccine was perfect with homemade sauce. The stuffed ravioli in white sauce was delicious. We did feel a little rushed, but there was a waiting list. Overall a good experience.
