I was very impressed with the level of service and professionalism from the Romays team. Paul kept me informed daily, if not twice daily, with the progress of the services required for my daughters mini copper. I would definitely recommend Romays to anyone that needs repairs or preventative maintenance on their vehicle.
Before visiting romays, I visited another competitor down the street and was told there was only appoints available on Monday, mind you I went in on a Friday. I walked into romays and they were able to assist me right there and then. They also offered shuttle service to and from my home once the diagnostics was done. I came in with a blower motor issue for my ac unit and they diagnosed the issue, sent the paper work out to my extended warranty provider and was able to get an approval for parts and labor all within the same day. Great service, friendly staff and knowledgeable mechanics. Highly recommend for any needs you have for your vehicle.
My air conditioning was giving me trouble. Romay’s could’ve told me anything because I don’t know anything about cars. They found it to be an easy fix and charged me very little. Same day in and out. It’s cooling great now. Romay’s fixed another car of mine years ago. Broken timing chain. They charged a fair price, and it was a flawless fix. Ran great. These guys are my go to. Thx Romay’s.
Honest, honest, honest!. I had troubles with my Jetta and brought it in for a diagnostic. After approving the repairs it needed they called the VW dealership for parts and found out that the parts were still under warranty. Romays let me know about the warranty and recommended I take it to the dealership for the free repairs. I will defiantly be back for all my maintenance and repairs
I bought a Car through Carvana and everything seemed fine with it except a clicking noise. Took it in to Romays and they did their diagnosis and found multiple problems with the drive train bad bearings bad bushings but the worst the Under carriage carrier bearing that holds the drives haft in place it was toast you could move it all around with your hand. They fixed everything and fast and they kept me up to date touching base with me every step of the way to let me know what they found what parts they ordered and when it was being fixed. These guys are #1 dont waste time going anywhere else.
The tech who worked on my car did not put items back. He left the glove box inside compartment and paperwork on the floor board. He left the cover off the OBD cable boxHe installed the fuel pump pigtail. And did not run the wires through the plastic cover. Nor did he put the seat backI now have to unassemble the fuel tank wires and install it correctly.Not happy with the Tech’s work.Paul who worked the front desk was and excellent person to work with.
I paid them $177 to misdiagnose my problem and do a vehicle inspection I didnt ask for.I came in for an EVAP leak code, asked them to do a smoke test. After an hour, they said my EVAP leak was in the fuel tank (quoted $1650 to replace it). I took a closer look myself, saw that the leak was actually coming from the rubber hose that leads from the filler neck to the tank. I suspect they didnt actually do the smoke test, and rather spent most of the time on that routine inspection that they do with all vehicles they receive.Two stars though because the vehicle inspection found some problems I hadnt noticed when I bought the car. It was helpful and now I have a short list of things to fix myself.
Experience was great, customer service were very respectful and courteous,would call to give me details on present repairs , updates on when work would be done . I was very impressed very professional and helpful. Repairs were finished fast . I would recommend Romays to anyone .
The staff were all very friendly to us, while they performed some expensive maintenance with mediocrity. When I returned because of an increasing rattle that started after they had worked on the suspension, they denied that something was left lose and recommended more expensive repairs. I took it to another repair service and they found the bolts holing the frame in place had been left lose. With those tightened the rattle is gone!
I wrote a review a few days ago that is inaccurate. I made the statement the fuel pump pigtail was not installed correctly by the Tech. After looking a little closer at the pigtail install, the Tech did in fact install the pigtail correctly.I apologize for the inaccurate review.
The staff were very accommodating and got the work done on my vehicle in a timely manner. They provided a driver to take me home, while waiting for my car. I would specifically like to speak about Taylor Lewis who helped me through this whole process. He was extremely considerate, kind and informative. I told him I would be driving out of town and I wanted to be sure all was was working well. When I picked up my car I felt confident that it was well taken care of. Thank you so much! I’m relieved to know I have an respectful Auto service company such as Romay’s to go to for any vehicle issues.
This is my go to crew! Hands down, they all are very professional, and take care of my car’s needs fast & efficient. I was without a car for a day or two, and they went as far as providing a loaner for me to drive in the mean time. They’ve dropped me off at work, brought paperwork to me to sign, and have even delivered my car ready and good to go. Talk about top notch service!! These guys know what they’re doing, and I’ll keep using them. Thanks again, Romay’s & TC Auto, for getting me back up and running! It’s definitely a work together, team effort between these two shops.
My car took longer to repair because the part did not come in on time so it was there over the weekend. I did ask that they take off the $159.00 diagnostic scan for the inconvenience, but they only removed $50.00, but they did do a good job on the repairs, although it was a bit expensive.
Paul is knowledgeable and helpful. Repairs were done quickly and he communicated every step of the way. This shop was one of the shops to choose from under my extended warranty plan and now they will stay my mechanics of choice because of how well they treat their customers. Thank you Paul. Romays has excellent mechanics on staff.
Ive used Romays in the past as well as twice this week. Everybody is nice and polite, happy to explain all points of the services and incidental fees, diagnosis and prognosis. The waiting area is bright and clean. The restroom is much cleaner and better supplied then some restaurants and stores. Ive used their shuttle to get me home and back sometimes but this week I waited in-house for just two normal service items, nothing worth going home for to wait. I was a walk-in customer both times and lucked out with getting an oil change and brake system flushed and changed each in about an hour. I wouldnt have known that I needed to get the brake fluid changed out had they not checked all my fluid levels as a courtesy while I was getting my oil changed. As long as I can remember I have not had that done so it was definitely time! I also got a wheel alignment check which thankfully it passed 😊I highly recommend Romays Auto Service!🏆💯🥇
The owner was very friendly and willing to talk with the customers every detail of car repair and what to expect during the entire visit at his repair shop. I personally was very impressed with his knowledge and understanding of the situation.Very nice experience.Thanks!
Misdiagnosed the repair that was needed. Shop went above and beyond to right the issue. The staff is so unbelievably friendly and they really make a connection to entice customers to want to come back again and again. What started out as not a very happy experience, ended with a smile on my face. My vehicle was running top notch also. A day later a friend had a vehicle issue, we immediately called them; AGAIN, the shop performed quickly leaving another happy customer.
Very quick, not over priced, and my mechanic ROBERT was super great! He actually went above and beyond and actually fixed a few minor things he noticed and my air intake hose was torn and i was just gonna tape it up but i was informed he spent his own money to replace it for me. I was deff surprised. I knew i had some other issues but due to money havent gotten to fix them but i got my car back and my cars in much better shape than expected. I read lots of other shop review before i picked them and they deff have earned my 5 stars. Ill make sure to send my friends and family their way
I highly recommend Romay’s Auto Service to anyone who needs work done on their vehicle. This was my second time here at Romay’s and Rey is super helpful and kind. He made sure I understood what needed to be done on my car before I had left. I was even sent pictures of everything needing replacement. I was very disappointed with the service for the reason that I was told different stories by a couple of employees there. I was told to pick up a loaner car and then I get there and they dont have a car for me. They tell me it was a mistake that they got me confused with another customer. Then they tell me they have a car for me and the license plates are expired since July. I just felt that they dont communicate with each other. I finally pick up my car a week later and my passenger seat has oil stains also my drivers side door panel also had oil stains. Im very surprise by the service because they were recommended highly.
I requested replacement of 6 coils and a suspension check. 2 of the coils were previously replaced at this shop under different management. A test was performed and found the #2 coil wasnt functioning. This wasnt conveyed to me or my wife. All the receipt recommended to replace spark plugs.Car running really bad when it was picked up. Had it checked the next day, coil not functioning at all. Really disappointed in this situation.I want to say that Romays had rectified the problem. And we will be taking our beloved Volvo there in the near future for repairs. I appreciate them reaching out to us and going above and beyond to correct the problem. We want them to be our go to shop for car repairs.
Over priced. Charges $160 for diagnostic, which is for nothing, just to look at car. Other professions dont charge to looking, quote, or find out if any work needs to be done. Slow and over booked. As a business owner myself, I feel their just chasing the dollar. Corpus Christi labor should not cost 100% more than most of the country, seeing that the work isnt that good.Personally would not recommend.(Let me add) RESPONSE TO OWNER..... although my vehicle was looked at by a mechanic, that I did talk to, No Work was actually performed as mechanic said noise of my concern was of no worries, so work was not needed nor was any done. Payed $160 for WHAT? Vehicle dropped at 8am ,not available for pick up until 3pm.
They went above and beyond to help me through all issues with my truck. Provided transportation to and from home while car is being worked on. Work was done in a timely matter. Communicated with me the whole time to let me know every issue. Knowing the work was done right is priceless.
I went to Romay’s because they were in my network of facilities that will perform repairs while my car is still under warranty. It turned out that I actually have to go to the dealership for the specific repair I needed done, but the entire time I was there the whole staff was very kind and kept me updated on everything that was happening. While I didn’t end up getting any services done with them this time, I will definitely be back in the future and will certainly suggest them to anyone looking for technicians that not only provide care for vehicles, but care for their customers as well.
Had an issue with my ac. but after some confusion on what the problem was they were able to assist me after finding out it was more than that. Due to finances they were able to help me and work with me to get my car fixed.I would definitely recommend this place as they are empathetic to my issue.
The kindest people ever. we popped a tire and had to stop at the gas station next door. my boyfriend and i know nothing about cars and the owner came over to coach us through changing a tire at no cost. such nice people, i can’t say enough good things about this company!
Told them there was a failing bearing noise coming from one of the things on my serpentine belt and I was pretty sure it was the idler pulley.... They tried to sell me a used transmission with more miles than my current one and a new clutch kit. Picked up the car after they babysat it for a day for only $107. Noise still there and very obvious. They never even checked the belt. Took it back the next day to check my belt area and they said it sounded normal - again.The next week the noise was so bad I was like, Fine, Ill do it myself. I changed the idler pulley and put a new belt in cause I had the old one off anyway. Wasnt that so I changed the alternator. Sound is gone and she runs smoothe and silent.Thanks for all the help! Next time someone who knows their car well walks in dont try upselling them.
I highly recommended this auto service for anyone that needs their car worked on. For Someone like me who knows absolutely nothing about cars. Rey the service manager was so kind and understanding. Even tho I just had a flat tire lol. Big thank you to the tech mark for fixing my tire. (^.^)/
Took vehicle in for a noise that was coming from the vehicle. Mechanic placed the vehicle on the lift and drove the vehicle. Stated that the vehicle needed plastic rivets for some that had become dislodged. Went to Advanced Auto Parts, installed the four that were missing, and the sound REMAINED. I took the vehicle back and then the mechanic suggested the sway bar link was the issue. So which one is it? Im unsatisfied because it was not properly diagnosed and it cost 80.00 for them to misguide me.
We have been customers of Romay’s Auto for 18 years and will never return since the shop was bought by TC Auto. It’s no longer a family business and I no longer have trust in the repairs suggested or pricing. We trusted Fred and Freddie Romay fully but not any longer. TC’s “up sell” on repair work has driven us away as customers. We will miss doing business with the Romay family and feel the Romay family name should be removed.
Years ago I brought them a 2002 Ford excursion, I had broken a spark plug and they were able to extract, replace, and did not charge me for the ones I had already done.More recently I was looking for a state inspection station and while they do NOT do them, they were very pleasant and had an immediate nearby recommendation.
Just left here not too long ago talk to the super helpful gentleman yesterday Taylor about fixing my truck Told me to be there at 8 AM the next day by the time I got back home He was finished with it super awesome service and very fast and professional definitely recommend I’ll be back
Had the dreaded Check Engine light. Dealer wanted 95 bucks just to look at my 06 Odyssey. Took it to Romays, and spent half that to diagnose and make the simple repair. They were very friendly and very quick, about a one hour turn around. Granted, it was a simple thing, but I was very pleased with the service.
They were able to get my van check the same day I took it in, due to my insurance my van was in the shop a little longer than expected but they help me as much as they could and never complained I had there phone ringing constantly, Thank you guys for putting up with me.
In regards to Randal Benders negative review. Mr. Bender brought his truck in and said he was having difficulty starting the truck. He said by shaking the steering wheel it would start. He asked us to try it to determine the problem and it would not start. The customer commented he had the problem for quite some time, so we asked him to please start it for us. He was unable to do so. He then hired us to check and located the issue. We charged 199.50 to disassemble the steering and electrical and determined that his ignition switch was no longer functioning. At that time we replaced the ignition switch for 89.03 with an actual Delco part, not a mock auto zone and charged him no labor to install it. All of this was done under his supervision and request.
Ridiculous! They wanted to charge me 200 dollars to see if my wiring harness was broken. I told them I was in a accident and I will not be dealing with cost only the other persons insurance. It was like I was talking to a brick wall. They were adamant on me paying for the full cost. This auto shop is ridiculous! DO NOT GO HERE. TERRIBLE ENVIRONMENT
Years ago.... Dave mote used to work for Fred. Rene came in and took over Daves position, business went to down. Why? Rene was stealing and took advantage of an opportunity to fool Fred. We ALL knew it, but unfortunately Fred did not believe it. Now, it is obvious that a lot of customers left. We wish Dave would be working.... Also, pedro was one of the best mechanic, too..... We are one of customers left and found the better mechanic.
I drive a 07 Accord. AC was working intermittently. Romays ran a diagnostic, said Condenser Fan Motor was bad. Charged 427.90 to replace...OK. AC worked for a day then stopped, so I took it back, another diagnostic, now wants >$1200 to replace Compressor. NOPE! BEWARE!
I took my car here because it was over heating and they would not even look at it, after driving all the way from Rockport....told me some bs and sent me on my way....not even a diagnostics....took it to a place and my fans werent coming on ....$500. I guess they didnt want at romays....bs

2022-04-29Excellent Customer Service. Very professional management and staff along with knowledgeable, experienced technicians. I was very impressed with the engine replacement done to my 2012 Cadillac CTS 3.6. The work was done in a very timely manner. I firmly believe that Romays Auto Service went above and beyond the extra mile to exceed my expectations. Very confident about their guarantee on parts and labor. 2022-07-14My experience was great. They were able to take my vehicle in right away and a few hours later I had a full diagnosis. They sent over the documentation via the web so it was super convenient. I agreed to the repair and by midday the next day my vehicle was ready to go. Professional, efficient and convenient is how I would describe Romay’s. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs repair. Almost forgot to mention my repair has a 3 yr/36k mile warranty to boot.

2022-04-25I’m extremely grateful for these guys. They took care of my vehicle and called me every day to give me a status on it. My Dodge Challenger car is working great now. They let me know what they recommend fixing next. They are honest, professional, respectful and just awesome! They will go over everything and give you options before making a decision without pressuring you to leave your car with them. I will definitely be bringing my car for all repairs needed. 2022-08-16I had issues with my truck and was informed by another auto repair shop that my transmission was in need of a $7000 repair, so I called Romay’s and asked for a second opinion because this auto shop has done a wonderful, truthful job repairing both my vehicle in the past. They did a thorough inspection of my truck and it was not my transmission but other issues with my truck, thank God seriously for these mechanics, not only did they save me loads of money, they save my sanity and repaired truck which has been working perfectly. I just want to say Thank You guys for being wonderful mechanics.

2022-01-31These guys were amazing. The service was great.It was late in the afternoon, I had to leave my car.Luckily my daughter was in the area so she was able to pick me up and bring me home.And the next day when my car was ready kelton went out of his way to come to my house in Portland Texas to pick me up bring me back to the shop so I could pay my bill and pick up my car that my friends is true customer service.For sure I will be using these guys again and again for all the work that is needed for my Volvo.

Professionalism and communication was excellent. Fast and accurate work done. Definitely coming back here if needed. Would highly recommend this place.

2022-04-21My experience was very good. The repairs were done in the amount time they said it would be. My vehicle is working really well. Very professional staff.But when I checked out and took my vehicle, I asked for an estimate on fixing the sensor on my tire. I have not received an answer yet. I dont know the individuals name but I guess he trying to get an estimate.Thank you

2022-08-08Romay’s hooked us up when the other local places couldn’t. We had one shop suggest that we drive hours north to San Antonio for the replacement of our brakes because they couldn’t get a certain part down here… luckily we called Romay’s instead and saved our time and money. Also they have a shuttle service which I thought was awesome: super convenient and just another way to show that they care about their customers. The inside/reception area of the shop is very clean, and every employee I interacted with was friendly and professional. I can’t recommend them enough.

2022-03-29I don’t leave reviews ever, but I felt like I needed to. I always have great customer service. I’ve taken my 20+ Jeep Cherokee and my BMW X3 here or their sister store, TC Auto. I’m in the middle of moving and the guys had to get in the trunk and I totally forgot I had all my things thrown back there, oops. The guys put it back even nicer than the found it. Really appreciated that. 10/10 place
