If you are looking for a dedicated patient advocate, Nikki is your girl! From obstetric to gynecological care, she he is the most compassionate healthcare provider I know. Ive had the pleasure of working alongside Nikki; I received invaluable instruction that has greatly contributed to my growth as a womens health nurse practitioner. Nikki not only exceeds all standards of care, she genuinely cares about YOUR desires and facilitates an optimal birthing experience for each family.
Nikki was an absolute joy to work with. We have nothing but positive things to say about our birth experience. She is extremely thorough and took the necessary time to answer all of our questions. Nikki always goes above and beyond in her work and it truly shows. We will definitely be using San Antonio Nurse Midwife for hopefully a future little one.
Nikki is the best midwife is San Antonio hands down! She’s got such a positive attitude and cares so much no matter what time it is or how how little of concern she there she takes her time and every appointment was at least an hour. This was our third child but our first home birth and Nikki was there to guide us in every way. I seriously couldn’t have done it without her amazing knowledge and support.
Nikki is an excellent midwife. I have had the privilege of working along side of her off and on for the last five years. She treats everyone with the utmost respect and compassion. She is well respected in the birthing community by doctors, fellow midwives, and most importantly by her clients and their families.
There are literally no words to describe how happy with Nikki and Tracy I was! Every prenatal appointment was fantastic. We felt informed, never left with a question unanswered and we would just laugh hysterically. Nikki was always gracious with my thoughts and opinions about pregnancy and delivery, and when it was time for Liam to be born, she was level headed and efficient. As a side note, I have a slightly increased risk of having a baby with CDH, a severe and potentially life threatening congenital condition. I felt 100% confident that Nikki would have been able to handle that, as evidence by our numerous discussions on emergency protocol. I am not saying this to freak anyone out- I am trying to convey the fact that midwifery care is safe under many unique circumstances- and Nikki is more than qualified to handle just about anything because of her expirience!
I LOVE Nikki! If you are looking for a compassionate, professional, and attentive midwife then look no further! She is the only nursing midwife in the San Antonio area that does home births.Arent pregnant, but still have a uterus? Nikki does paps smears too, so you can enjoy this lovely lady without having a baby. ;)
Nikki is an outstanding midwife with years of experience in both hospital and out of hospital birth. She is up to date on the research, open to individualize care to each patient’s unique needs, and is truly compassionate. My personal experience with her was for GYN care and I couldn’t have been happier, so if I get pregnant, I know who I’ll be calling!
SANM is a place of empowerment for women and families. As a fellow Midwife, I’ve had the pleasure of attending clinics and births with Nikki! The positive Interaction and relationship Nikki has with her clients reflect the trusting and safe environment of her homebirth practice. Nikki is kind, nurturing, and uses her knowledge to educate and give back to the community through public service. She gives back to the Midwifery profession and has been a great mentor! I am thankful for the opportunities, experience, and that there is a safe option for low risk women who desire Homebirth.
Nikki is simply the greatest! Ill start by saying that I didnt have the opportunity to have her as my Midwife, however, she is one of the most sweetest, compassionate and genuinely caring people I know. She was my neighbor and still a good friend!I was diagnosed with preeclampsia with my son and was readmitted to the hospital 1 week post partum due to extremely high blood pressures. After a short stay at the hospital, I returned home to recover. Although I wasnt a client of hers, Nikki took time out of her day to walk nextdoor to check my blood pressure when I had some concerns. This goes to show just how truely amazing she is!If Im ever pregnant and living in the San Antonio area again I would trust her 100% with my prenatal and post partum care!
Nikki provided compassionate care throughout my pregnancy and was my pillar of strength during birth. I looked to her for guidance and support, and she held my hand every step of the way. With Nikki at my birth I was able to do whatever it took to birth my baby, knowing that I had her unwavering support.
Nikki was our Midwife for the birth of my baby boy in July 2017. We switched from a highly rated obgyn to Nikkis care after speaking with her and getting the impression shed spend more time with us and where we had the birth we wanted for our little guy. She cuts no corners. Shes incredibly talented, caring, and thorough. She doesnt a ton of time with us with every visit and endured every question was answered, helping us prepared for things we were totally blind to. She also was incredibly proactive on getting testing done and referring me to socialists when needed, always following up on how everything was going. Even now, nearly 2.5 months after my sons birth, Nikki is my go to person with questions about nursing and post baby life. Shes a complete Rockstar. I highly recommend her. Not only is she an incredibly knowledgeable professional, shes also a good person with a great personality. ❤️
This review is going to be from a different perspective than most reviews you’ll read, because I’m a midwife myself.I’ve had the privilege of watching Nikki serve women in her community with limitless compassion and grace. It’s so evident that her work is her passion. Her knowledge and wisdom is an asset to our community and I am thankful that she takes the time to share her gifts with anybody willing to ask. 5 Stars just isn’t enough.
Wow - I had a wellness visit today with Nikki and she was just amazing!!! Very easy to connect with and super funny, which made me relax, which is really important during these check-ups! So blessed to have found a midwife for these appts. If I ever find myself expecting #4, Im definitely going to her. :-)
I have used Nikki for the past 3 years for standard well-woman care and the births of my 2 children. She has always made me feel so respected throughout my care. She answers every question clearly and thoroughly and WANTS me to feel well educated on any side of any question I need answers to in order to make my best decision for any care I receive. Shes incredible!!
I am truly sad that I cannot have Nikki as my midwife. I am searching for a midwife or doctor that does VBACs and have been turned away multiple times. I just now called Nikki and was surprised with how kind and personable she is. She did let me know that she cannot he my midwife as I have had two csections, but then she gave me 3 great options to contact on my natural birth voyage! Thank you so much Nikki!
SANM cared for me and my last two babies resulting in a beautiful home birth for both of them. I can’t say enough about her professionalism and good bed side manner. I felt thoroughly taken care of and at the same time empowered by my role and desicison making during my pregnancies and deliveries.

2022-06-22I would give a 2.5 stars, but not able to select that. I love what they are trying to do here, and women definitely need spaces outside of hospitals to give birth. There is some disorganization and scheduling problems. I would say they need a good office manager, and the primary midwife should have a partner midwife to rotate with her on-call, so she isnt always on. As it currently is (or was, when I gave birth 9 months ago) you run the risk of a grumpy, dismissive midwife if your labor starts late-night or middle-of-the-night, and their policies arent always well-communicated (or communicated at all). Interpersonal communication could be improved. After a very long labor without consistent progressive dilation, I was considering transferring to the hospital, and some of my medical counsel consisted of no one is keeping you here. Not the professional support you need in this type of situation. Wishing all you birthing parents the best of luck on your journey!

2018-02-03I am a REAL client, not like these made up people who are leaving 1 star to be hatefuland i cannot begin to tell you how I would HIGHLY recommend Nikki as your Midwife. Super compassionate amazingly caring and thoughtful throughout the whole pregnancy. Highly educated and it shows that she truly loves her craft. Nikki was the reason we chose a home birth for our baby. Never did I feel like we were unsafe in her care. Nikki is extraordinary and very meticulous and It shows in everything that she does. My visits with Nikki never felt like just another appointment. We always had a great time and she truly takes the time to get to know you, your family and your wants and needs. She’s so very encouraging and engaged in the process. I am thinking of having another child, my blood pressure has been a bit elevated and i have been taking the steps necessary to help bring my blood pressures down and get into better health so that I may birth my baby at home with Nikki and not in a hospital. If you chose any other midwife your missing out! She’s fantastic in every way.

2018-02-03I have attended multiple births & several prenatal visits with Nikki over the last few years, and have had the privilege of watching her interact with clients and their families. Every encounter exudes compassion & wisdom. Nikki is attentive, caring, professional, fun, & supportive. As a midwife myself, Ive gone to Nikki for advice & counsel - and she has always picked up the phone. Her support & love for the birthing community is evident, and I am so thankful we have her here in the San Antonio area!

2017-05-20When we made the decision to have a home birth, my wife and I had a lot of questions and concerns, Nikki was able to walk us through the process and make us comfortable with our choice. She was encouraging, comfortable, and wonderful throughout the entire process from prenatal care, birth planning, and postpartum. We will always be grateful to Nikki for supporting us and being there as a guide through our first birthing experience. I have a feeling she will remember us for sometime as well. If we decide to have a second child, we will use her again.

2020-08-30Where do I even start?! I could cry just thinking about Nikki and her amazing impact. She LISTENED TO ME. For the first time, I felt heard. Nikki is worth every penny AND THEN SOME. It’s a shame more women don’t have access to a Nikki. I’m so blessed! Nikki gave me the birth experience I wanted but never thought I could have. She empowered me to do the darn thing, and I DID IT! She’s so smart, kind, FUNNY, patient, and just down-to-Earth. She doesn’t sugar coat things. But she’s sensitive in the same breath. She truly LOVES what she does and it shows. You won’t find a better midwife in the SA area! If you’re in the fence, take the plunge. You will not regret hiring Nikki.
