Service was good, but expensive. AND, on top of an already expensive oil change and wiper blade replacement, they tagged on a $30 (about 15%) “shop supplies” fee. Supposedly for “rags, fluids, etc.” A 15% markup for NO services seems high and inappropriate, in my opinion.
I have 240k miles on my 1999, Toyota 4 Runner. Scotts Auto Repair, has serviced all factory maintenance & oil changes since I bought it 22yrs ago. It’s still running great & should last another 200k miles. I attribute that to the owner, Scott Strait & his team of professional auto repair experts. Everyone there is ready to assist and give great customer service. Scotts is a trustworthy auto shop, in a great location on Memorial & always provides me with excellent service. I won’t take my cars anywhere else. Jan Riley
I have taken two of my vehicles to Scotts Auto Repair and have had excellent experiences during all interactions. Most recently, Ive been dealing with a nagging check engine light as Ive readied one of my cars for sale. Eric specifically helped me diagnose the issue, was incredibly patient working through all of the options and helped guide me through what was best for my aging car. He could have easily recommended I fix about 10 different issues but was incredibly honest and transparent as he steered me clear of that path. Ill be going to Scotts exclusively in the future and plan to send all of my friends and family as well. If youre looking for honest, reliable and timely service - stop reading and head to Scotts Auto Repair. If you have a choice, ask for Eric - hes the best.
Had extensive repairs to my truck braking system. After repairs it still wasnt working properly. Took it back and they owned up to improper installation. They fixed it and there were problems a third time. Took it back again and they jumped on the repairs and gave me a loaner for my inconvenience. They are very concerned with customer satisfaction and doing things properly. Always courteous. I give them 5 stars.
Just wanted to give a huge thanks to Aaren taking care of my vehicle today. I went in for a lil change and had some other issues with my car and be explained everything to me as I don’t know much about cars. He was very professional along with the other e employees as well. I’ll definitely be using them again and would recommend 10/10
I’m not sure if they scammed me, but they charged me $917.69 to change my spark plugs and a coil after I told them my check engine light was on. Many people afterwards told me they took advantage of me being a girl that’s unfamiliar with cars, which I definitely feel like they did. On top of that, my check engine light came back on two days later. I essentially paid nearly 1,000 dollars for nothing.
I had a flooded car and the engine was hydro locked they ended up replacing the whole engine. We mostly waited on the insurance to get back to us but once they received the new engine they had it ready the next day. The whole team took really good care of my car and as of today I have no issues. Special thank you to Erick for the constant communication! Highly recommend :D
4 stars for speed of repair.2 stars for professionalism2 stars for pricingCar was towed to Scott’s by AAA because it was the closest on their list of providers. When they got back to me on needed repair & pricing I felt the pricing was high. I did my homework and priced the part and cost at nearby repair shops. I was correct - a very reputable shop just a couple of miles away could do the same repair for about 40% less. After declining the repair and letting them know I would have someone pick the car up to have repair done elsewhere, someone followed up and negotiated the price bringing the cost of repair down. It was still higher than the other quote, but when the cost of towing and the high priced diagnostic fee were factored in - it made sense to let Scott’s do the repair. The bright side here was that they did have the repair done quickly. If you want the job done quickly and price isn’t a concern you may be happy with Scott’s. As for me, I prefer a reasonable price up front and I really do not want to deal with having to negotiate a price after a day that was already complicated enough.
While driving today, I noticed my temperature gauge rising. Noticed I had a coolant leak somewhere, as there was next to nothing in the reservoir. The staff at Scotts walked to my car and added some additional coolant so I could drive it to them. Being a Saturday afternoon, I didnt expect to get my car back today - but I did. They replaced the water pump and the thermostat, and provided a 3 year warranty as well. Additionally, they drove me back and forth from my house so I didnt have to sit and wait at the shop. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. To me, this is how the car repair experience should be. Couldnt be happier. Thanks to all who aided in my experience today!
I love this place so much. The people are so sweet and helpful and would never be the type of auto shop to try to swindle you. Theyre all very hard-working and reliable. They dont make you feel like just another customer oh, they make you feel like youre part of the family. Im really glad that I chose to start coming here!
Had a check engine light on my truck that I couldnt diagnose. I had some ideas as to what it could be and shared them with the technical advisor Ryan who was not offended that I sometimes like to work on my vehicle myself. Anyway the part turned out to be the O2 sensor and it was replaced along with a brake flush. Ryan did recommend some services for the future but they were not concerning at the moment. Thanks Scotts Auto for getting my truck in working order!
I dropped off my vehicle at the agreed time, and later received a call to recap for me all items of work to be done, the charge for each, and the total. I deleted one item, agreed to all other items of work, and received a call when work was completed. No hassles, no surprises, and work and parts are warranted for 3 years.
Car was towed to Scott’s by AAA, and within two hours I had a full diagnosis, cost estimate, and approximate time my car would be ready. I also received photo and video evidence of the problems they found. The next day, the team gave my car a full inspection and found a couple of other fixes and repairs they could make, should I prefer. I was sent all the info via text, which is incredibly convenient. I picked up my car about 24 hours after I dropped it off, and it looked, felt and sounded great. Very grateful for the prompt, comprehensive service Scott’s Auto Repair provided. They will be my first choice from here forward.
Arren was exceptional. He was friendly and prompt. He explained my vehicle’s issue to me and really took the time to explain things. Not only that, he got me in and out very quickly. The facility is well maintained as well. I have no complaints whatsoever. Thank you Arren! You made my evening!
My experience was excellent! I needed my fuel pump replaced and some diagnostics done, and Rodrick was very informative and courteous, and patient with me. It was a little more than I had anticipated but well worth it, and they were able to get the job done in a matter of hours. There are a few items left to be done on my vehicle, and Ill definitely be taking it back to Scotts Auto Repair!
I couldn’t be happier. I called and asked if they had times to do a registration inspection, and they said yes and for me to bring the car in. I drove over immediately and they got to work immediately. I asked how long it should take and they said it would be ready in about 30 minutes. I did a quick bike ride and 35 minutes later they were calling telling me my car was ready for pick up. Ive been taking my car to Scott’s for years. I highly recommend them.
Aaren was superb! I came there to get an inspection done and it only took 20 mins without an appointment! Then I asked him to see if he could change the cabin filter and he did after making sure that he had a filter in stock. He also reset the warning message and showed me how to do it. I will definitely do more business with them all.
The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. Some places take advantage of woman talk over their head and try to squeeze more money out of them. Scotts auto repair is not like that. They also have a courtesy service that took me home and picked me back up! There service a 10, Office staff a 10! Price and work a 10! My repair also came with a 3 year warranty!
The service provided by Scotts Auto was amazing. They were professional, diligent, and supportive while dealing with unnecessary red tape in getting final approval for the transmission repairs.I was told by Katy Nissan nothing was wrong with the car (even with the engine light showing); Scotts auto kept working until they found and diagnosed the problem with supporting documentation. Aaron and Big Mike did not disappoint the level of customer service of a top-notch auto shop should provide.I highly recommend them to family and friends. My supervisor, Dr. Ruth Simmons, shared with me, it is key to build good working relationships. Thank you Scott’s Auto for our working relationship!Delphia Esters
The staff at Scott’s were a thorough and knowledgeable group who ensured I would have the beat care as well as my vehicle. They were able to make the necessary repairs as well as identify some additional items that had been overlooked. When I went to pay they were able to include in store coupons to reduce the cost of my repairs. I highly recommend them
This place was awesome! I was driving around my neighborhood looking to get my inspection done because it was expiring that day. I got there at approximately 5:30 and they close at 6. They were so courteous and welcoming, even though it was the end of the shift, and immediately got to work on my car. I was able to wait in their very clean and comfortable waiting area that had cold water bottles available (in this heat!). Even the restroom was nice and clean. Certainly glad I stumbled upon this place and will surely be recommending!
As usual, the service was excellent. I had the regular six-month oil change and summer travel checkup and maintenance on my 2011 Subaru Forester. It was a nice low price of $158. They set my mind at ease that nothing was wrong on the car, and they didnt try to find some bogus repair for me to spend loads of money, like other auto shops do.
I REALLY wanted to like this place. At face value its a nice looking, local car shop with plenty of employees and a very knowledgeable owner. But my experience here was poor, mired by deceitful automotive industry practices that seem to be present at far too many shops.Went in for an oil change, told them Id leave my car there and to give me a call when they were done. I was clear on needing just an oil change and nothing more. The oil change took 4 AND A HALF HOURS. Normally if a shop is THAT busy, theyll give you a heads up and try to schedule you into a better time.Once I arrived to pick up my car I was presented with a list of recommended repairs, 2 of which stood out like a swollen thumb. Transmission flush and coolant flush, for a total of $400 combined. Now my car was at 65k miles so on paper nothing seems unreasonable. But the transmission in my car was brand new, literally put in by the dealership 6 months prior to that. And the carfax showed the previous owner had a coolant flush done right before trading it in.They were clearly betting on me not having this info. To top it off, they added on an $18 tire rotation I didnt ask for. I cant say I drove off happy.Im not done yet....My 62 year old Mom went here as well to get her oil changed, on top of a pump needing to be replaced. They quoted her 2 hours and 5 hours later her car STILL WASNT READY. On top of that, they recommend literally the exact same coolant and transmission flush to her. But the most egregious thing they did was to her brakes. They told her the brake pads had 3-4mm left and they needed to be changed out shortly. Less than a month went by and my uncle (whos a mechanic) took a look at them and told her the brake pads were beyond 100% worn and she needed new rotors because of the damage the lack of brake pads caused. This is scary for 1 of 2 reasons. 1st reason - they didnt actually check the brakes and recommended getting them replaced anyways. Or 2nd reason - they did check the brakes, they knowingly lied to her about what was left on them and once something catastrophic happened shed go back to them and spend even more money than originally quoted.Like I said, I REALLY wanted to like this shop. But unfortunately it became just another poor mechanic experience. Houston has plenty of shady places wholl overcharge and recommended unnecessary services. Only difference between those places and Scotts?Their storefront is prettier.
I went in during, what seemed to be a very busy time for them, and asked if they could take a look at my tire as I believed there was likely a nail or screw in it. The extremely friendly staff took care of it, immediately. They located the screw, plugged the hole, visually inspected all of my tires, topped all of them up with air and were finished in twenty minutes. Most importantly, they didn’t try to sell me any new tires. The only reason I did not give them the 5th star was that I was surprised by the $20 charge for the service. In my 25 years of driving, I have never paid a penny for the same service. In actuality, I will likely return for other services but they could have ensured that by either not charging for that simple service or by charging $10 or less. Overall though, I had a pleasant experience in a safe, socially-distant, mask-wearing environment.
Very poor service so far. Went in for a State Inspection but immediately afterwards when trying to start the engine, it would not fire up and threw a bunch of CELs. Pushed back into shop and after a bunch of diagnostics was told alternator was going bad. Saw the output and agreed to swap out alternator. On picking the car up at closing time car is STILL not firing up. Throwing CELs and blowing a fuse repeatedly. They still have the car right now but I’m wondering if something got shorted during inspection causing computer problems. Either way even if they fix the car I won’t be going back..
Arren Bunch (who I recommend to ask for) helped me out beyond what I expected. From the moment I called Scott’s Auto Repair Arren was so professional and me being a woman by herself in an unfamiliar city just his voice alone made me feel secure about bringing my car to this repair shop.Upon arrival I was greeted by Don at the front desk and just the overall experience with that was very welcoming.I arrived about 3 hours from closing time. And as I stated, I do not live in Houston. Once I received the diagnostics... I went back to my car and immediately went into a small panic attack because at this point I’m thinking about how willI get around, I hadn’t eaten, and I had to consider finding a ride and a place to stay.Arren Bunch took his time and noticed that I was in a wreck over the situation. In that moment not only was he a mechanic but it felt like a father. He first addressed my emotional state. He did not tell me what I wanted to hear but what I needed to hear. I could tell he was a very very very genuine man. As always there’s a waiting area at most shops and as he calmed me down and BEFORE leaving me to tend to my car he allowed me time to process my thoughts. Mr. Bunch offered me water, a nice clean spacious waiting area to wait. Once I looked up at after he said “wait” he smiled and said, “Ms. Keri you do know you will be going home today.” I couldn’t believe it. He told me to hold on because what I thought would be an overnight job, he confirmed that it would be ready in TWO HOURS! 🙏🏽 AND YES, ARREN DID NOT TELL ONE LIE. I was back in my car by closing time! This post wasn’t meant to bring them business, but to truly display MY PERSONAL APPRECIATION for Scotts Auto Repair. Arren has a gift! And although he may be a mechanic, his gift is truly caring and helping others. So as I sit here in my newly fixed car I couldn’t drive without leaving a review on not just my car but my gratitude for the IMPECCABLE service I received from Arren. Everyone deserves to feel safe and secure when it comes to your livelihood. And Arren went over and beyond to insure that what he and the business had to offer was nothing shorter than amazing.Arren, I will always remember your kindness, your transparency, and your patience.100/100 recommended ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Incredible experience! I’m so happy I brought my car here. I needed a major repair and they completed it very fast! They even detailed my car. I’ve found a reliable repair shop and will continue to use them in the future! Thank you Scott’s Auto Repair! If you’re looking for a reliable and honest mechanic this is the place!
Scott and his whole auto team were absolutely amazing from start to finish. They were prompt and very informative, they sent explanations about everything they were doing to my vehicle and made sure it was ok to move forward before automatically doing so. Very friendly and reliable, I would strongly recommend them to anyone for their automotive needs!-Hannah
I can’t say enough about the high level of professionalism displayed! Lowell was awesome! The shop was extraordinarily communicative throughout the entire process and I felt that their assessment of the issues I was having was honest. The entire staff, Roderick in particular, was extremely friendly, courteous and kind. I’m so glad that I found them. I highly recommend.
Scott’s auto repair and Lowell went above and beyond to help me. They provided wonderful help in getting new tires and alignment including texting me a quote before the work started and coordinating a drop off time (which I find extremely convenient to text) and offering me a ride home or a loaner after I dropped it off. They care about their customers and it is clear. Great auto shop that makes your life easier in today’s busy world. Highly recommend!
I recently took in my vehicle to be looked at by Big Mike as I have been following him for many years. At his newest location, Scotts Auto Repair, he runs the show with complete professionalism and honesty. The customer experience is what matters and with Mike and his crew, they are second to none. From being greeted by Arren, and then working with Mike and Theo, these guys are fast and efficient. Your vehicle, and peace of mind is in good hands at Scotts Auto Repair.
MUST READ!!!My check engine light came on at approximately 4:10 PM on a FridayI called around and NO Shop was willl to help until the following week. I happened to call Scotts To my amazement they said come in for FREE diagnosis. They took my vehicle in and performed diagnosis. I was extremely concerned this was going to be very expensive given I had California plates and it was on a Friday afternoon.About 35 minutes after they took car in they said my car was ready!!!I was shocked! They said they repaired the problem. Now comes Why Scotts and the team is the BEST!!!They changed me ONLY $48.75!WOW These guys are Experts and HONEST!AMAZING POSITIVE Experience!
After taking my truck to another mechanic shop that quoted me $4,600 for a transmission rebuild, I decided to get a second opinion at this shop which Ive never been to before. If I was to get quoted for the same price and the same issue, I was just going to sell my truck.5 days later(with daily updates) and $3,000 LESS than what the other shop quoted me, which wasnt even a transmission issue btw, my truck is running brand new again!Theyve gained a new customer for all my future service needs.
I have been going here since I moved to Houston and let me just say I am going to miss this place! i have never been more happy with any auto repair shop! Scotts is amazing and his team is just as great I am moving from Tx but they will always make sure they find the right problem to fix it and even if they no they made a mistake they always go above and beyond to fix it! I am very please with there work and again will miss having the security of knowing my cars are in good hands! Thanks for everything guys!
For the second time now, I am pleased that the team at Scotts Auto Repair allowed to bring in my vehicle immediately and they repaired it while I waited. I had to wait 3.5 hours for some major repairs but, it was worth it. I always appreciate the way that ERIK and DON communicate about the OPTIONS and costs of the repairs. I will continue to use this shop and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it. They also offer AAA discounts.
Since it has been 4 years since I wrote this, I wanted to add more:Scotts has always been there to help us. They take pictures of the problems and texts them to me so that I can see the issue and decide if the repair is needed or not. They are very helpful and I trust them to do a good job and not do more work than needed!Original review:Scotts is great. Just before leaving on vacation, my A/C stopped working. Someone stayed late to get fixed before leaving. The air was very cold all vacation. After a few days, I noticed water leaking into my car. I took it back to Scotts. They explained that the problem was unrelated to my repair. Regardless, they blew out the drain tube, (drained a gallon of water) in less than an hour for no charge. I have also been taking my RV to them for pre-trip checkups. They have done a great job keeping me on the road without costing me a fortune. I trust Scotts.
I had a flat tire this morning my friend and I couldnt get my tire off and a break light out. They helped me quickly no words exchanged and no charges. For a gal in distress, their service truly brightened my morning! If their major repair work matches their customer service, Ill say youll be in good hands!
Scott runs an honest, straight shooting repair shop. He always treated me well and took care of me when I was in my old beater car. Id highly recommend him for any work you need done. Hes so good, Id drive clear across town just so my car would be worked on by Scott and his crew.
Once again, had a great repair experience with Scotts. These guys always give me an accurate diagnosis along with a realistic expectation of the cost. Theres never any surprises from Scotts. Thanks guys for helping me keep the old truck on the road for yet another year!
I was referred to Scotts Auto by a close friends father, and since then I have never been elsewhere for repairs, or regular maintenance. Scotts Auto Repair has been a blessing for me. The customer service is outstanding! When I walk in the door everyone greets me and knows me by my name. Scotts auto will go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of! When I take my car there, I feel like I am taking it to someone in my family, who I know will do what is best for me and not take advantage of me. Terrence has been amazing on my last few visits. I feel like he treats me as if I were his own daughter, and has bent over backwards for me on several occasions to make sure that I am safe on the road. Scotts Auto wont give up on a finicky car. Like good mechanics, they will work on a problem until it is fixed, and sometimes even absorb the cost. I highly refer Scotts Auto! They are almost too good to be true, and in this day and age, they are the diamond in the rough of auto mechanics.
Theyre really friendly there, but they took almost two hours for an oil change when I was the only customer in the waiting area. Also, I had my oil changed and a new filter put in and it cost me almost $60. My old place does the same thing for less than $45. Ill stick with my old mechanic. Thought I would give these guys a try but I would definitely not go back.
Scott’s auto repair services was second to none! Mr. Lowell Wilson was very nice and give a lot attention to every customer that arrive and answered every question that was ask with all honesty! I will be coming to Scott’s every time I have any issues with my vehicle! Thank you to Scott’s Auto Repair!!!!!
Im always concerned about getting my car repaired because I am a single woman and many mechanics have taken advantage of me in the past.I had a car that was only 2 years old when the AC died in July of 2014 so I figured it was something very minor. I took it to two mechanics who both told me that the compressor would need to be replaced and quoted me a minimum of $1000.I found a 3rd mechanic who did it for $500 since I purchased the compressor but just 6 weeks later the a/c was not working again!!I was livid and I continued to take it back to the mechanic 3 times over the next month before he advised me that the compressor I had purchased was faulty and he would have to take it out and have me go exchange it then bring a new one back and get it installed. By this time it was winter and I had a 1 year warranty on the compressor so I decided to wait until February to go through all of those steps. In February when it was time I decided to get one last second opinion I searched for a free a/c check on Google and came up with Scotts.I was ecstatic that they were right near my house. I scheduled the service right online and went in on a Saturday Morning. The facility is nice, they have coffee, a big screen tv, a couch, and wifi with the password posted in case you need to work while you wait.I dealt with Don who was so friendly and knowledgeable, I dropped my car off and expected to wait all day. I got a call back in less than 2 hours from the owner stating that they cold not fix it but that the compressor was not the problem.I proceeded to return to their shop and got a detailed explanation about what they found. It turns out my compressor was never bad in the first place, but the first 3 mechanics either didnt know or didnt care to check everything. The problem was a very small connector, which they told me they did not have in stock, but that the part was so cheap that if I could find one they would fix the a/c for free.I looked high and low and could not find the part at the dealer, a junk yard, or online. I finally ordered the part for my year make and model but it was on back-order and I called Scotts 3 weeks later when it arrived. Again Don was very friendly and honored his offer for me to get the repair done at no cost, he told me to bring the car the following Saturday.Long story short it was the wrong part and my 7 month nightmare looked as if it would never end. I was so dreading the return of 100 degree temperatures! I found out that my manufacturer does not sell the part that I needed individually and that really only Ford, Audi, and one other automaker do. I spoke to Scott and he said that the mechanic suggested an alternative that would only cost $140. I returned the following week and had it fixed and over a month later my A/c is perfect and ice cold.My only con is that I was not advised that there would be no warranty on the alternative fix. I found out 2 days later when I read the receipt, but thankfully I havent needed it.The staff at Scotts was friendly, professional, fast, and honest and those qualities are GOLDEN in auto- repair. I dont think Ill be taking my car anywhere else for a long time to come.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Liars, crooks. If I could give no stars I would. First they told me they could fix my car for $3,000 then they told me $4,000 then the guy calls me back and says $10,000 for a whole new engine. We finally come to an agreement after them still swindling me $4757, I would take my car away from there but it wont even start ... when I brought them the money they said $2,000 to get the car started and it will be ready in a week, two weeks Max, then if I see that the car is running good I will give them the remaining balance...I paid $2000, called a week later after I had already given them $2000 , just to ask how it was going and they said it wasnt even started yet because I owe them more money. So now they want $1,000 more just to supposedly get the car started, then I have to wait another 2 weeks...supposedly...I doubt the car will even be ready by then. These guys are cheaters, crooks, and liars. Especially if youre a woman like myself. Tell you one price and then when you get the car there, theyll tell you a different price once its stuck there. I feel so helpless and Im just stuck here with a 10 year old son by myself, single mother and still no car. And now I hear from all these other people that when you leave with the car all kinds of other things will start going wrong with it. Ill keep you updated on if I even get my car back or when. My car is a 2015 Chrysler 300, with only 27,000 miles on it, and as of right now I have no car because they have it just sitting out there, in the burning sun on their dirty dusty gravel along side a bunch of dirty ashy broken cars in the sun.
Johnathon was our Service Adviser. The diligent high level of customer care he provided is much appreciated. He is extremely professional and provided us with overall ‘White Glove’ Customer Service experience. My family will be back with any automotive needs. Thank you!
Wow! 50% less than Mbenz of TX and same level of service! They wash your car and call you to update on status. Sure they dont have a great waiting room and they are a little bit hard to find since their entrance off Harrison street is a little confusing, but the guys are great and the pricing is incredible.
Watch out for up-selling! Sent my son in for a simple oil change for our 2014 CR-V. He comes home with a $244 bill.I stopped by Scotts to ask how this can happen and they were defensive, combative, and most troubling of all - unapologetic. Yes, they DID ask my son for permission to do the extra work... a simpler, customer-friendly solution would be separate offer for the additional work that can be completed on a different day. The up-sell work involved flushing the brakes (not urgent!). We just bought the car certified preowned last September (after our original cars flooded in Harvey) - the brakes did NOT need to be flushed.By the way Scotts charged us $75 dollars for the oil change. The tech at Scotts said that the car uses synthetic oil (not so, I subsequently checked the user manual and the car accepts synthetic oil but it is not required). My advice it to stay away from these guys. I will never go back.
The people that work here are great. They didnt swindle me at all. confirmed to me what I needed, didnt try to get me to get things that werent urgent, drove me home, worked on my car, drove me back, didnt charge over the top (in fact they were very generous), and they resolved every issue I had. Im never getting my car worked on anywhere else.
By FAR the best mechanics I have ever done business with. They do far and above what typical companies do. Fixed problem every time If something went wrong they worked on the problem till it was fixed. Even if they had to fix on their dime. Would never use any other mechanic from now on.
Well I was changed 600.00 for spark plugs I have called around and boy was it chear idk but I think it was a very poor experience oh! And a course I was given a paper saying I need things that was put on a day earlier and was told oh my tech was being lazy when I addressed the issue very poor indeed and I used to work as a state inspector smh!
I LOVE SCOTTS AUTO REPAIR!!!I have been going to Scotts for over 20 years. I am always treated with the utmost respect. They are very knowledgeable and always eager to explain what needs to be done and why. The owner spends a lot of time with each customer, catering to their needs. I would recommend Scotts to anyone!
PLEASE READ FOR YOUR OWN SAKE.To see photos you must be in the google map on a browser looking, then click photos.Im a 30 year old male, with my wits mostly about me. I went in for a simple inspection, dropped my car, and walked to a friends house a few hundred yards away.I get a text message shortly thereafter, See first photo. Two filters, engine...kinda dirty...ok...Second photo...a filthy cabin filter, with a leaf in it mind you. I respond with no, that I would not like him to do that.No big deal, he doesnt. I return to pick up my car, and immediately go look at my cabin filter.A. It is only mildly dirty, not anywhere near as dark as pictured.B. It is a completely different filter. At this point I am concerned and go to save the photos this individual has sent me, as they were taken on an iPhone the timestamp is saved. When I save them to my phone, clear as day like in the pictures, one is 10:55 a.m., and the other where it is actually my filter is 2:52 p.m. (THE CORRECT TIME OF THE INSPECTION.)The last two photos, of the cleaner cabin filter, are actually what is in my car, before and after the inspection. It is a completely different architecture, the ridges do not come to a point, as mine square off/flattened ridges. While I said no and walked away because I knew better, the chances of something, anything similar to this are going to be high. Likely even higher if you are a female, unfortunately. I went in for something simple because you cant really mess it up, but after something like this, would NEVER go for anything remotely serious. Thanks for reading and looking!Technology will be the death of you.
Crooks! Simple and plain. Went in for oil change, left here with no ac. Strange since ac was blowing cold on the way there and had no issues with my air ever. Routine maintenance, only brought car here since I was pressed for time and didnt have instruments to do oil change properly. Ac diagnostic done, charged me to recharge system.. now oddly enough the cans of r134 in trunk disappear? Management is clueless, well I did that on purpose even had camera setup to catch crook. After I confronted management and then showed the footage the offered me a coupon on services. Wait, ac still not working tho. So I took my car, inserted dye and what do u know a massive leak from a puncture..... crazy dont go here.... they overcharge and dont have trained mechanics!!! One of THE best things about living on the west side is having Scotts Automotive right around the corner! Having them as a resource is like having a seasoned, trusted mechanic in our family. ALWAYS there when we need them; on time and for the cost projected AND with faster, friendlier, more professional service than we have ever had at ANY dealership. Our son also swears by Scotts. He lives near Tomball but right after getting their car serviced elsewhere, he had car trouble flare up on this side of town so we referred him to Scotts. Scott himself rode to our sons rescue; found what the other shop had done incorrectly & refused any payment, telling my son exactly what to tell the other shop to do so they could rectify it at no additional cost to our son. We are grateful Scotts fans for life!
I stopped in for an estimate of what I believed was going to be a costly repair. Terrence met me with a smile and a firm handshake and addressed my problem immediately. What I thought was going to be expensive ended up being the best deal you could possibly get. Terrence would not allow me to pay him for the work they did. Unreal that you can still find people like that in todays world. FIVE STARS FOR SCOTTS AUTO REPAIR!!!!!!UPDATED REVIEWScotts continues to be the most ethical and honest repair facility I have ever been to. As a business owner myself, the people that use groupon, coupons, and things of that nature are the people who spend the least amount of money and end up being the biggest pains wanting something for nothing. It chaps my ass to read the poor reviews that people have left for Scotts. I FULLY ENDORSE SCOTTS AUTO REPAIR FOR ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED ON YOUR VEHICLE!!!!!!!!!!!
Service at Scotts is so professional! Ive dealt with Betty on both of my visits and she does a great job of communicating the services done on your vehicle. As a female Ive been intimidated in the past when it comes to having my truck seen by a mechanic but Scotts has taken away this itimidation away!
My car was making a clicking noise by the front wheel and a family member told me I had a bad cv joint so I decided to get the repairs done at Scotts. Once I brought my car in they told me this could be a couple of hours to finish but it really took the rest of the day and half of the next before someone called me to inform me if something was wrong or not I was told that both cv joints and the axel needed to be changed as well as all four brake pads and drums over $1500 worth of repairs. it took another day after that untill I could get my car back. Imediatly I know something was wrong because the car was squelling horribly down the road. I called Scotts to inform them and they said the noise would go away after the brakes wore in a little bit but it never stopped. The day after that my car started to stall out while I was at red lights. When I opened the hood I saw that my plastic belt case looked all chewed up as if someone tried to open it with a screw driver. I went back to scotts and they said that the whole thing needed to be replaced another day and a half later and another $1500. At this point I paid for a full diagnostic of the car to know exactly what all needed to be done with the car so I could drive it again with zero worry. I was informed that my water pump needed to be changed so I had that replaced as well as buying there oil, oil filter, and tire rotation package. One day after that my raidiator icon appeared on my dash, followed by my car smoking and stutering. I then decided not to go back to Scotts but to go to the dealer instead, on the way my lug nuts fell off my rear driver side wheel causeing the wheel to fall off completly driving on the feeder road !!!!!! I had my car towed to the dealer. An hour later and paying for another diagnostic I found out that a piston had broke on my car and totaled my engine. I no longer have a car to drive. Before I went to Scotts my car drove smooth and it was working just fine with no icons on the dash or problems of any sort. Thanks alot Scotts repair you stole alot of money from me and now I dont have a ride to get to work. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

2021-08-20Scott’s Auto Repair found that Cristian’s left my oil plug loose and my oil leaked out nearly completely. I had a very slow AC leak so they thoughtfully put dye into the AC and asked me to bring it back in a week or two. So today I bring my wife’s car in to get the oil change. These guys do great work and do not try to rip off women nor men. They send a message to your phone if they find anything else needed done so you can say yes or no to each item. I know what to watch out about my car. I will also soon know everything about my wife’s car. This is a warm and honest place to trust your car repairs. I highly recommend this business.

2022-05-23Stay away if you drive a foreign car or need electrical repair. My Volvo was towed to this shop because it would not start. Upon inspection I was told my car needed a new starter for $950.00 with a 2 year warranty.(A new Volvo starter has a lifetime warranty. A used one is 2 years) I declined the service and had my car towed to a Volvo dealership for a second opinion. They said the engine needed to be repaired /replaced at an approx cost of $6000. They showed me my vehicle and pointed out the causes that led to their diagnosis. I got a third opinion from a highly recommended independent auto shop. After their diagnostic, they concurred with the dealership. I went back to Scotts and talked to the service advisor to ask how they determined it was the starter. He was very arrogant and said because its what you asked us to check. He was unaware of their own diagnostic results (if they even performed one). This advisor was rude and condescending, changed the subject, and proceeded to tell me how I had not maintained my vehical by changing my oil every 5k miles. I informed him that my car only required an oil change every 10K miles, which is something he would know if he had knowledge of my vehicle. They were willing to take $950.00 for a unneeded repair. I feel they are not trustworthy. I called the owner to let him know of my experience, and he was not available. I left my contact information and he never called me back.

2022-06-13Scott’s Auto repair is a very welcoming shop! They have an excellent team and the environment is unlike any other. I have a lot of work that needs to be done on my car and Arren and I made an action plan for the most pertinent items to be completed first and a timeline for the rest. Arren explained in detail what things need to be fixed, estimated costs and time required. My first service was done last Saturday and we were even shuttled home by non other than Scott himself! Their customer service is amazing and I highly recommended them for any of your auto needs.

2022-04-28Very courteous and professional service. They did everything they said they would. They addressed the problem that I came in for, and they didn’t try to upsell me or provide any unnecessary recommendations for more services. This place has the frontage and ambience of a big chain, but the personal treatment has a “small town” feel. I highly recommend.

2022-05-05These guys were so helpful! I drove onto their lot with a flat tire which caused me to be late for a meeting. Not only were they able to find me a matching tire, but they even delivered the truck to me later that afternoon. Fantastic service!

2022-05-18I know its their job to UPSELL, so they should UPSELL not stress the customer out by stating had any trouble with starting your car? Well you need a new battery, do you want me to go ahead and take care of that, itll be around $ 200 they quoted correct price I just forgot what it was. Anyway it started out great and ended with me having to come back to get some part put back in my glove box which seeing that on floor board stressed me out even more than needing a battery, for $200. Very courteous, and helpful, for sure the staff that handle my vehicle was. The employee that put the piece back into my glove box was awesome as well. But I still got that feeling of SEE HOW MANY UNNECESSARY PARTS I CAN SELL TO HIM/ HER TODAY. Thank you.
