After using Service Wizard a few years ago for the first time, Ive never called anyone else. We are trying to get as much life out of our HVAC unit as we can; were not eager to replace it. An old system means some wear and tear items will need to be replaced over time, and Emilio has helped us at least 3 times - each time getting us up and running quickly at a great price.Weve had Service Wizard perform preventative maintenance checks, install new ductwork, and fix our unit a few times when there were issues.Absolutely the most trustworthy and reliable service provider around.
A few weeks ago I had called them on a Sunday morning during this 100+ degree weather were having in TX - my AC furnace kept going on and off and we checked everything we could (without being experts ourselves). I had called around to a couple places and called them as well on a recommendation on Nextdoor from one of my neighbors. They got me in that morning! David put me first on the list and within an hour or so of my first call, we were up and running again. David also showed me how to maintain it ourselves so we wouldnt need to call them for this particular issue again. I felt it was very honest and I appreciated it. I did have to pay the after-hours fee but I did not mind at all for having gotten someone to come out to help us so quickly.I recently called them again (today) on a separate issue with the furnace and were waiting for replacement parts...but I already know they are going to get a 5-star review from me for that as well. They were the first place I called because I had such a good experience last time, and they got me in again right away, despite not being a long-time maintenance plan customer (other places deprioritized me because I wasnt and it almost felt punitive - some places also just never called me back). Emilio was prompt, professional, showed me exactly what the issue was and ordered the parts, trying to do whatever he could to get them rushed! I really appreciated it. Now I see why they have over 300 positive reviews here. I plan on recommending them to everyone I know!
I love Service Wizard! Their entire staff is wonderful. They were able to come out very quickly and were able to fix my AC unit in less than an hour. They are very nice and professional. I highly recommend them.
Service Wizard came out for a regular pre-summer maintenance. The tech listened carefully to what I thought I needed done, then performed his tests to confirm the unit was working properly, then repaired some insulation that had come apart that I was unaware of but needed addressing. Responsive, professional, good work and good value. Will happily see them here again in the fall for the heating check.
My unit started giving me problems Saturday morning and these guys were open luckily being a weekend. Kevin came out hoping that it was a small issue but turned out my unit was on its last leg and not worth fixing. Before you knew it, the guys Mark and others inside were able to schedule me a new unit Tuesday. William and James, arrived and were professional, prompt, easy to get along with and had me up and running 4 hours later. Im so glad I called Service Wizard. Thanks.
Excellent customer service I got from Service Wizard. John Osgood, the owner, made sure I was taken care of. Emilio, the technician, was very knowledgeable. He spent time answering my questions. Their pricing is very competitive. I will definitely use them again and again and again....
It was a pleasure dealing with Service wizard through the entire process of figuring out what Cass Mechanical failed to fixed 2 times on my new home. David the tech who diagnosed the system was very friendly and thorough when detecting the refrigerant leak. James and William were very meticulous when replacing the evap coil 2 days later. This is the 3rd time its been replaced since 2018. I could tell Service wizard got the correct coil because I had pictures of the 2 previous casa had installed under labor warranty. I would suggest Service Wizard to anyone who needs a good AC company.
I got quotes from several AC companies before choosing Service Wizard to do our hvac replacement. They arrived when promised, gave a thorough and competitive estimate, quickly scheduled the work and completed everything as promised. Good work. Professional staff.
We needed to replace our 25+ year old air conditioner after it stopped working on a blistering summer day. The service was fast, cost efficient, and well done. They protected carpets and other flooring.
I had a great experience working with Service Wizard. They were able to accommodate me quickly when our unit went out on July 4th.Ended up with the Bosch BOV-B outdoor unit, and Trane furnace and its awesome. Previous unit was a 1996 American Standard that couldnt keep the house below 81 when it was 100 out.The energy consumption is 1/2 of my previous units consumption (at lower temps inside, too)I had some wiring issues with the initial setup, but they made sure it got completed right which i appreciated.

After dealing with another local A/C company for the last year and half and getting nothing but aggravation with their new equipment that they installed I called Service Wizard and they sent Emilio to my home.I explained to Emilio that my A/C equipment is new but the evaporator coil kept freezing up forcing me to turn off the unit until it thawed out. And that this kept happening repeatedly.My old A/C company was making me feel like this was somehow my fault and it caused a lot of tension with the companys representatives and myselfEmilio came on time, took readings and diagnosed the problem within a half hour. He made the proper adjustments and didnt bill me until several days later to make sure that he got it right! Service doesnt get better than that!Now the A/C unit works like it should, it doesnt freeze over, the humidity is down in my house and I couldnt be happier. Highly recommended!
Woke up to a broken AC system on a Saturday morning where the high was 104 degrees. Service Wizard was able to come out same day and fix the issue within an hour, that morning. Their service was excellent and they took the time to fix what was broken rather than calling the compressor a total loss, saving me >$1000.
John and Charles Osgood have never let us down. As a business owner we have used Service Wizard for years and always been very happy with their work. They also did the units at my home and the Trane brand they sell is the best.

I called Service Wizard for an emergency repair because my AC went out. They were able to get someone to my house that morning and communicated when someone was on their way. They let us know what the issue was and were able to fix the problem when they were there.
In 2015, one of my ACs failed, so it was time to buy a new one. I called all the local vendors in my area and received insane pricing for an AC unit. I stumbled across Service Wizards and found the best quality, honest service, and lowest price. Beware the companies with fancy iPads, matching outfits, and wrapped trucks. All that cost is being passed on to you, the consumer, and its not cheap. This month, they serviced the same unit again and gave me honest feedback instead of upselling me. So glad I called Service Wizard for a second opinion of my AC system. They did a thorough inspection of the unit, and kept it running. So thankful the Osgood family is still in the AC business. Wish I had found them sooner.
Shane came out to diagnose a foul smell. He did a complete examination of the air conditioner and determined that the evaporator coil was the issue. Very professional and understanding of our concerns. Spent time to thoroughly explain what he recommended. Cleaned the coil and checked drain and pan.
Ive used Service Wizard a few times now. They are super responsive, quick to make it out, friendly, good at diagnosing and fixing issues, and not overpriced. They are there to help you and not make a quick buck.
In the middle of this terrible heat wave, our upstairs A/C failed. Terry arrived on Saturday morning and quickly replaced my capacitor and fan motor. Sadly, the fam motor failed, but Emilio was back the next day with a fast repair. Thank you to Terry and Emilio for their responsive service.

After the first big cold front of the year, we realized our 21-year-old furnace was not up to the challenge. Erik responded quickly with a clear and thorough bid, and answered several follow-up questions we had after receiving multiple bids. When we decided to move forward, we got a very quick installation date. That day, the installation crew worked efficiently (and VERY neatly!), removing the old system and installing the new in a tight space. They walked us through the new thermostat and left no trace of having been there... just in time for the next big cold front the next day. Its lovely to be toasty again! Thank you, Service Wizard! We have had good experiences with Wizard on several occasions. Once, an HV/AC replacement came in, as I recall, about $1,000 below the estimate, because a difficult task in the process, as estimated, turned out to be unnecessary. We would never have known that last fact. This most recent service amounted to a quick determination that a mildly noticeable AC noise is not indicative of a problem that needs attention.
I was very impressed with this team from the time I met the salesperson who was in-depth setting expectations for new HVAC system to be installed into my house. We had some of the coldest days of the winter and my HVAC system was broken. The team was very responsive and had a new heater installed the next day. The technicians that came to my house to install the system were orderly and professional. These guys are top notch and I highly recommend them.
I have used Service Wizard twice now, starting last spring when another company (whose name is the same as an ancient bead calculator) tried to sell me an expensive new system by showing me things that my later research taught me were not problems. I called Service Wizard for a second opinion without telling them about what the first company had said. David let me follow him through his entire examination, taking the time to explain everything and answering all of my questions. He found nothing wrong with my system (HVAC and heating), and I have had no problems this summer. This fall, I signed up for Service Wizards annual inspection plan, and was surprised to see David again. It seems that Service Wizard tries to keep a customer with the same technician - a great policy from my point of view. Cannot recommend Service Wizard highly enough.
David was great. Took time to do a complete and thorough assessment. Did a fantastic job repairing multiple issues. I would give high ratings for this company. Only one slight negative was the 4 hour window. Beyond that I would definitely recommend Service Wizard.
I have been a Service Wizard customer for a long time and I am continually impressed with the service. They installed my AC/heater. Most recently the technician that installed my new thermostat took the time to thoroughly explain all of the new features. He was also more than willing to answer my questions related to cleaning the coils on the exterior compressor. I learned a lot and would highly recommend their services.

Charles Osgood came out to clean the flame sensor on our furnace 30 minutes after we called on the worst weather day in central Texas (so far this winter). He diagnosed and got it working in 10 minutes time. We have used them in the past and have always been perfectly satisfied with their work in all aspects.
I asked the company for a second opinion on an issue with the furnace that wont go off. The previous company said that the system is too old, and needs to be replaced. Shane immediately found the issue with a temperature setting, so he saved me thousands of dollars. I highly recommend Service Wizard simply because they are extremely professional and honest, cannot ask for better. For sure, i will use them without second thoughts, if Ill have HVAC problems in the future!
My condensate line for my AC was clogged. I found Service Wizard to be highly rated on Yelp. I entered my service request online through their website and someone called me soon after to confirm the appointment. The Service Wizard staff is very professional, responsive and courteous. Service Wizard recognizes COVID safety procedures. On the day of the service, Emilio from Service Wizard arrived and was very courteous and respectful. He wore a face mask the entire time he was at my home. I appreciate not having to ask him to wear one. Within an hour Emilio had cleared the clog in the condensate line and was very thorough to make sure it was actually unclogged before he left. The price for the service was very reasonable. I would definitely use Service Wizard again.
When I saw that Service Wizard is owned by the Osgood brothers, I expected the service to be great and wasnt disappointed. I called for a fall checkup and they had me scheduled for the same week. David, the technician, called and said he could come early. He came, did the checkup, and was out in less than an hour. I had a bunch of questions about using the HVAC systems with a standby generator and David was happy to answer all my questions. Service Wizard will be our go-to HVAC company from now on.
House furnace stopped working just before a cold front was expected to come in. Called another company and was told we needed to replace the whole system at significant expense. Called Service Wizard for a second opinion - they mentioned replacement of the system was an option, but said we could also replace just the broken parts. Went with the latter option. Had the new parts installed the following day. Honest company, A+ experience, would recommend.
Our six year old AC stopped cooling on Sunday afternoon. We called four HVAC companies in that service the Wells Branch area. Service Wizard was the only one to get back to us the same day. Emilio came out first thing Monday - before anyone else even returned our calls! He diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts. Even with the current freight situation, Emilio pushed to get the part and we were up and running less than 48 hours after our Sunday call out. From the time it was diagnosed, two of the other companies bid the job based on Emilio’s diagnoses. We might have been able to have gotten it done cheaper, but not faster. Plus, Service Wizard used all OEM parts. The Osgood name has had a great reputation in Austin for many years so we trusted them. We were not disappointed.

Service Wizard earned my respect immediately when the dispatch office recommended their cheaper maintenance package as a means to clear my AC drain line instead of making a service call specifically for the flush. My technician (David) showed up promptly, was very courteous, wore a mask, and did a great job. He also talked me through how I could maintain and clear the drain line clean myself going forward. Service Wizard has earned my loyalty for future service calls!
I have used Service Wizard for the seasonal maintenance for my HVAC system in the past and they were great. When it came time to replace my system, I called several companies, all have great reviews on Google and Yelp, for a quote. One company quoted me a price for the 2nd best Trane model that was 33% higher than another company that quoted me for the top Trane model. Yikes! They tried to tell me the difference in price was due to their superior service and warranty.Service Wizard is owned by a family who has been providing service in Austin for decades. They have great reviews online and, I have received great feedback from friends and family who have used the Osgoods’ for decades. They do not advertise as much as some other companies which may be why the number of reviewers is not as high. But, if that keeps them providing great quality products and service, at a great price, that is personalized to my needs, I’m thankful for it.Service Wizard listened to my needs in a new HVAC system and provided a proposal that was unique: an energy efficient and eco friendly design with limited dependency on propane. I couldn’t be happier with my new system and will continue to use their services in the future.

Service Wizard was fantastic! When water started dripping from a ceiling at 5 pm on Friday evening, I called Service Wizard. A technician explained it probably was an airconditioning problem and to turn off the unit. We did and the leaking stopped. A technician arrived on Saturday morning, told us our 24-year old unit needed to be replaced, recommended a new unit, and fixed the problem well enough to last over the weekend. On Monday they called and scheduled the installation. Throughout the process all employees did an excellent job of communicating. I particularly appreciated their sending a photo of the technician before his arrivial so I could intentify him.
Service Wizard replaced my 23 year old HVAC system with a new Trane system. I got several quotes beforehand for comparable systems but Service Wizard offered by far the best value for one of the best brands of central AC systems (check Consumer Reports). The installation team arrived on time and worked efficiently and courteously. I really feel like I got my moneys worth! Thanks Osgood family.

2022-05-27Ive used Service Wizard a couple of times for my AC unit (different years). Theyve been able to come quickly and have great communication. The technicians were able to fix my issues quickly and get my unit working again! Im planning to purchase their annual service package as a preventative measure for my AC and heating system health!

Our AC went out and Service Wizard were not only able to make it out the same day, they quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it at a fair price, and just in time to save us from the 100 degree weekend that followed. 2022-07-16We had a wonderful experience with Service Wizard addressing an issue with our HVAC. After I scheduled online, they called and were able to come out several days earlier. Shane was excellent- he explained a minor issue he had addressed and immediately our house was cooler. This is our 3rd time to use them and every time has been stellar. Highly recommend this company!

We bought a new HVAC & compressor from Service Wizard 7 years ago and the few times weve needed service they are incredibly responsive, professional, and affordable! I highly recommend them!

2022-06-23Our AC started to act up and wouldnt run for longer than 10 minutes. I was dreading looking for a company to come out and do maintenance since we were new in this home and knew they would likely not have availability as quickly as we needed.Not only did they have availability, but I was able to schedule it ALL online in a breeze and they came out 2 days later. Right after I scheduled the appointment, I got a call to confirm the appointment by the company. They were swift, polite and easy to talk to. I bet if I would have requested a sooner appointment and explained the situation, they likely would have worked with me on that.Communication from first scheduling the appointment to the very end of the appointment itself was INCREDIBLE! The person that came out to complete the work was incredibly polite, explained everything to us in a very clear and respectful way and was very quick plus efficient about his work!This over all is a wonderful and pleasant company to work with and Im so thrilled to have contacted them and will continue to in the future!

2022-07-23We have used Service Wizard for a few years at multiple properties now. They have been continually professional, punctual, reliable and easy to work with. We appreciate that the technicians give us honest feedback, whether that be to make a repair in order to keep an old system functioning for a few more years or that its truly time for a new system. I would recommend them to homeowners and real estate investors.

2022-06-03I feel the need to post a good review because I find there are not a lot of good honest contractors out there anymore. After hassling with other contractors, I called Service Wizard to come look at a leak coming from my AC unit and David came out the next day was very knowledgeable and jumped right into the issue. He gave me a rundown of the pricing before he did any work and worked with me to better understand my system and how to keep it maintained. I really appreciate the upfront honesty and quality work from Service Wizard, will definitely call again if in need of help!

2022-03-18These days it feels like a rare experience to be completely happy -- impressed, even -- with an HVAC company, but our experience with Service Wizard was truly wonderful. Setting up an appointment was easy and there was plenty of availability. We had them come out for maintenance and to check on our upstairs A/C which didnt seem to be functioning. They actually showed up on time both times they came out! We ended up needing a new condenser (which was not surprising) and Service Wizard was able to get us a quote for multiple types/brands the same day. The unit we chose happened to be out of stock, but they were able to work with us on the price of the more expensive one which was probably the better solution anyway. A few days later, they came out and installed it and helped us change some of our ducts to get more air to a few rooms. The install was so fast! And everything is working like a dream now. We definitely plan to use them in the future for all of our HVAC needs.

2022-07-22I wish I had found them sooner. I can see why this company has consistently good reviews. Its family owned by 2 brothers who seem to know what they are doing.Tech Heath gave advance call with ETA. Arrived on time. Knowledgeable. He was happy to answer all of my questions. He didnt criticize competitors previous work, which is a huge plus for me. Trip fee was only $49, and with crawling in the attic and evaluating unit outside, total visit fee was only $80.I asked for a quote to replace the whole system, including an upgraded compressor and attic work, and it was HALF of the competitors quote from last year. I agreed on the spot. If this review is unchanged, it means the install went well.

2022-06-04I have been a resident of the Round Rock area for decades and have, in that time, owned three homes. I have used several HVAC companies during that time and can assure you, Service Wizard and the Osgoods previous company are by far the best. I bought a new A/C unit from them and also use their maintenance service. I have referred dozens of neighbors to their firm and assure everyone of the excellent service. No one that I have referred has ever giving me negative feedback. The Osgoods are honest, reliable and well educated/trained in their field. Best of all, when I was purchasing my new unit from them, they did not try to upsell or sell me something I did not need. They truly care about their customers and go above and beyond to help.
