These guys are AMAZING! They went above and beyond to take care of me. My car had been to three shops and no one could figure out why it was dying and charging an arm and a leg! Seymour’s figured out what was actually wrong with it and was extremely reasonable on the costs. WOULD RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE! Thanks again for all yalls help!
I brought my Porsche Carrera to have an electrical problem diagnosed and resolved. Seymours garage team worked persistently until they found the root problem. Their team is very professional, tech-savvy, and their pricing is very competitive. Highly recommend Seymours Garage!
The gearshift cable on my 2004 Corvette coupe had broken and my car was unable to drive. Their wrecker came to my home Wednesday morning picked up my car and took it to Seymours garage. They had it repaired and up and running the same day. Outstanding work and service in getting me back on the road.
On New Years Eve (Thursday), my family was on the way home to Fort Worth when our sunroof broke. We were going to encounter rain and storms along our drive and our sunroof was stuck wide open. We stopped by a dealership to see if they could help and we were told they could not get to us until Monday. Luckily, we found Seymours! They were wonderful! Since we were headed out of town, they werent able to make the repair but they were able to get our sunroof closed to protect us on the drive. They allowed us to borrow a vehicle, recommended a place for lunch, and fixed our expedition while we ate. Finding them was such a blessing! They treated my family better than we ever could have imagined. I cannot thank them enough for making sure we were taken care of and had a safe, dry trip home.
Our son’s 2015 Passat started to act erratically. We would see lights going on the dash for no reason. After going away briefly, they returned & this time the buttons on the steering wheel would not function nor would the horn – now we’re concerned about a safety & inspection issues.We called Seymour’s Garage on 2/18, in the a.m. Zane answered the call & said we could bring the car in that morning to be looked at. My husband took the car in & explained everything that was occurring, including the steering wheel buttons not functioning, the inconsistent lights appearing on the dash, & the horn being out. By 2pm we had not heard anything, so we called. The car had not been looked at yet, no ETAMon, 2/21 rolls around & we call at 8am for status. Zane indicates they have still not had a chance to look at the car. We were promised a call before lunch. No call. We called again & were directed to Matthew, who is “the best technician Seymour’s has.” Matthew is consulting with an “expert” on the issue. We never heard from them again Mon.We call back on Tues, 2/22. Matthew is hyper-focused on the alignment and there is a need for a new battery, ranging from $161 to $275. We had to pin Matthew down on details – super slippery. $148 for diagnostic fee, $170 for alignment, whichever battery “we” choose (you’ll understand why “we” is in quotes in bit), & $65 to drop the battery in. We remind Matthew to please not forget about the airbag light & buttons on the steering wheel.Wed comes & we call when is most convenient for us. Matthew is at lunch for “1.5 hours” & Zane indicates we call at the most inconvenient time. Matthew will call us back. If you’re seeing a pattern – Matthew in fact did not call us back. So, we called again around 3pm. Matthew assured me that the car would be ready “before lunch” on Thurs, 2/24.We call midday on Thurs since lunch time had come & gone. The woman answering indicated Matthew was out & Zane was on another line. We should wait for a call back; the hold could be long. We shared that we’ve essentially been on hold since Friday, so we’d wait. Zane comes on the line & says we’ll need to talk to Matthew. Matthew does call back & shares that the car was ready. Seymour’s Garage – not “we” selected & installed the $275 battery w/o our authorization, completed the alignment, & the bill was ~$680. We waited 4.5 business days for an alignment & battery change at a high premium. Also, Seymour’s put 60 miles on the car, stating it was for diagnostic purposes. 60 miles seems VERY excessive. Matthew did mention there could be a clock spring issue & that would run us $625-$650.A rep dropped the Passat at our home. We took the car to test it out. The steering wheel buttons & horn were not working & the airbag light was still on. We were given back a broken car that we paid $680 for.We called back, got Zane as Matthew as out getting a haircut. We told him what was happening & Zane said “my bad; I forgot to notate the steering wheel issue.” Absolutely a) unacceptable since that was a main factor for bringing in the car & b) nonsense due to us repeatedly surfacing it with Matthew. Zane said he couldn’t take the car until sometime in Mar & it’s “probably just a fuse or something disconnected.” We had, at this point, lost 100% faith in anything they had to say & knew we’d been had.We’re not mechanics. But we can google. Google is full of VW forums. All of which say the symptoms we were experiencing were classic clock spring issues. We thankfully called VW of Alamo. They got us in next day & right away said it’s 90% likely a clock spring issue THAT IS COVERED BY WARRANTY! When Seymour’s was willing to stick it to us for another $600+.And, women, watch out for the misogyny. It’s real – to avoid dealing with a woman they’ll send you away with a broken car and $680 bill.
Zane took care of me at Seymours. I’m always concerned making my auto mechanic appointments without my dads help because they may over charge me knowing I’m a young female . Zane and Seymours is a honest garage shop. They have integrity . They went above and beyond to squeeze me in the same day . I would highly recommend their customer service and integrity . I was highly over quoted at my Honda dealership . I will be coming to Seymours for future needs .
Id highly recommend Seymours Garage. Theyre honest, reliable, reasonably priced & extremely convenient. Our car died, (we suspected alternator/battery). They had the car picked up that morning & ran a diagnostic. They replaced the alternator & the battery. Seymours Garage went over the repairs & pricing in detail. The car was repaired beautifully, w/ a 2yr/24k mile warranty on parts & labor, & brought right back to our driveway. All in one day, & no need to leave the house!
I cannot recommend Seymour’s garage enough! We’ve gone to them for 4 years now and they are honest, helpful, and even helped pick up my car from a car shop that couldn’t repair free of charge and delivered my car to my house free or charge so I wouldn’t have to cart my 4 kids. They are the epitome of amazing service and will even tell me if something doesn’t need to be repaired yet or give suggestions of what needs to be repaired vs what can wait. If you’re looking for a reliable car repair place, look no further. They have fixed any and every problem on our cars.
This place is great! They take care of your needs so well. Ive always gone to the dealer to get my car worked on until I was introduced to this garage. They even loaned me a vehicle to use while mine was in service. Wow! The dealer never did that for me or offered it. You gotta try this place out. They make you feel like family.
Ive been doing business with Seymours for nearly 40 years.It is a family-owned business operated with integrity and empathy. They also know what they are doing when it comes to car repairs. Ive known Mark for that same 40 years, and other than oil changes, I never take any of my cars anywhere else. Seymours routinely fixes cars that local dealership mechanics cant seem to fix.Five stars isnt enough...there should be a sixth available for rating the very best.
I honestly can’t say enough good things about the people, service and workmanship. They were very honest and addressed every question and concern I had without hesitation. They even drove me home and offered to bring me my vehicle when it was ready. I still have some other upgrades/maintenance I need done and have already made a plan with Mathew from seymours to get everything I want taken care of in steps. I will be taking both my cars to them from now on for all my automotive needs and maintenance. Thank you guys!Mike
I had a check engine, ABS and traction light on in dashboard after taking it to another shop. Matthew and his crew found the problem a missing ABS fuse. I was so pleased with their work and their integrity and way of conducting business that I gave them additional front suspension work on same day. So refreshing to find a shop that is looking out for customers best interest. Highly recommend Seymours Garage.
I drive a 2006 Nissan Sentra and just want it to keep running. This was my first time here and the guys at Seymours were very friendly and quick to get it done. Matt was upfront about what would get me back on the road immediately and what I could wait on for a few more months.Parts cost was as expected/quoted but Labor was almost $100 more than initially quoted and that’s the only reason I took a star off. That being said, the friendliness and prompt service will keep me coming back for any future car troubles I may have.
I finally found a great machnic. The owner&staff make you feel like family. I loved the everything about this family. They did a remarkable job. They fixed my car like if it was their car. I just want to say to Seymours Garage. Excellent job to all the staff. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Guy that helped us was REALLY nice!! I come from Houston not knowing this place really good & I bumped into the best help when facing mechanical problems before heading back out to my town. They offered us drinks while waiting and the job was done in less then 1 hour! Friendly staff. Really good job 👍🏼
My father always said that once you find a good mechanic, hold on to them for as long as you can. A good friend recommended this place to my law partner, who in turn recommended it to me. I have had nothing but great experiences over at Seymours Garage and will continue to use them and recommend them to any and all of my friends who are looking for a reputable mechanics shop.
I noticed a broken window upon receiving my vehicle, and they tried to hide it by unplugging the window motor. When I asked Mark (the owner) to pull the footage, he was rude and tried to belittle me, but I could not have any of that, so I stood my ground. Somehow the garage bay footage mysteriously disappeared during the couple of days my vehicle was at his shop. Thats when Marks attitude changed, and I was no longer a liar fabricating the story about my window. My window was eventually fixed. Please note that I was a loyal customer for many years and ALWAYS recommended this shop to family, friends, and colleagues. Lack of communication, transparency, trust, or respect is the reason for this rating. Please save your money; it is not worth the headache and disappointment.
Being relatively new to the San Antonio area, I was having issues with my 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. Not knowing where to take it, I went to a dealership and paid the diagnostic fee.Not liking the outrageous quote, I found Seymours and Matthew, the GM, took the time to speak with me, honestly. He said their labor rates were higher than some in town.Still i had them fix the most pressing issues and today took my truck back to resolve what was remaining.2 year, 24k mile warranty on parts and labor AND as an added service, not only did they give me a ride home, theyre delivering my truck home so I didnt have to go back out.The max Google allows is 5 Stars, but if I could, Id give them 1,000 stars.I wouldnt take my truck anywhere else.David ChubbSan Antonio
Seymours has been taking care of my cars for over 20 years. I always feel like I got a fair price for the repairs and never felt like they did anything that wasnt necessary. I appreciate that they tell me something is on the horizon so I can budget for the work. They recently did a repair that was 20% less than the other 2 places I checked (even after all this time I still price shop) Great Customer Service!
So tired of trying to find and work with a reasonable dealership, I have been going to Seymours Garage for over 20 years. They do the work that is needed, they do it right, and they charge a reasonable amount for it. I have never had to go back to try and get something fixed that was not done correctly. It is a pleasure to walk in and be greeted by people that have worked there forever. These are car people who know cars and like to work on them. Ill never go to a dealership again.
Ive had Seymours Garage do some really big repairs for me, and I walked away from the experience extremely satisfied. When I had questions about which route to take, and whether to install a particular part or to use refurbished, the owner (I think Mark?) got on the phone with me and really fleshed out my options. Each time Ive used them, Ive had my car towed there so Ive never actually physically been to Seymours Garage, but even over the phone they made such a great impression! I would recommend them to anyone in the San Antonio area.P.S. They were really knowledgeable about my Prius, which is something you dont see in many repair shops.
Seymours Garage “rescued” me in a parking lot near their shop about 3 years ago. Because they were literally blocks away, I had little choice at the time. They were at skeleton crew because of their annual retreat for the staff. Despite that, they jumped started my car and got it into the garage. Since then, I have had nothing but excellent service from them.The main reason I go back is because I trust them. Matt will not recommend nor push unneeded services. When I do have a problem, Seymours has always worked me in. They may not be the cheapest, but they are reasonable and will standby their work.
My experience was mostly positive with one hiccup at the end. I was greeted warmly on the phone and received a very good impression of the company. In-take was quick and efficient, and the work was completed in the promised amount of time. The office and the shop give an appearance of expertise and professionalism. The work (installation of after-market accessories) was performed very much to our satisfaction.The “hiccup” involved an estimate over the phone that turned out to be unrealistically low: the estimator did not ask enough questions about the work to be done, and I did not ask enough questions about the “too-good-to-be-true” estimate. In the end, however, the final price was easily in the lower portion of all the estimates that I had received.Seymour’s is the kind of business that you really don’t want to need again, but if I do, I’d go there again without hesitation.
I would never need to send my car anywhere because my husband is a technician. But I had the joy of dealing with Seymours Garage recently when they called my place of business. The gentleman was very rude when he did not hear what he wanted to be told. He may have been the owner which is even worse in my eyes. Too bad money cant buy manners.
I was appalled by the behavior of the owner. My air conditioning stopped working and their solution was to drive my car from San Antonio to Junction without my prior consent to recreate the conditions where my AC stopped working. My mom and I ended up picking up my car and just wanted to express our complaint. Mark was immediately hostile when we asked why he made the decision to drive my car to another town. He was yelling, kept insulting my mom, and brought up other customers situations and his philanthropy work instead of addressing our concerns. He was so irate that I ended up asking him to take it down a notch. At one point he stated that he would be sure to write about us in his book and said we are just a different type of people that he could not work with. We were not questioning his integrity or work ethic like he kept repeating. Instead, we were only questioning his decision to drive my car out of town without permission and a simple apology or explanation would have sufficed. We will not be taking our cars to Seymours Garage.
Friendly, experienced, knowledgeable individuals that make you feel right at home. The entire staff was extremely helpful, honest, and understanding towards my repair needs & questions. My cars struggled with repairs for years now, and it seems that I finally have it running the way I want (for now!), all thanks to them. Mark Colaw and his crew have been awesome. Very happy that I stumbled upon this auto shop just a couple of months ago. Being in business for almost 50 years, you know theyre doing something right.P.S. Nelson loves Pat Benetar.
SG is the undisputed best garage in San Antonio. Three things about Seymours Garage separates it from all the other places.1. Communication - Ive never had a mechanic explain to me the reasoning behind their diagnostics and services like Seymours does. Being a layman to automobile repairs, I really appreciated how they broke it down for me into easy to understand language that allowed me to make informed decisions on the care for my vehicle.2. Expertise - I had been taking my BMW to the BMW dealership for this recurring problem I was having involving the crank case valve where they had me replace the same parts over and over again. After thousands of dollars in wasted money, I took my car into Seymours and they were able to correctly identify a problem further up in the circuit that was causing this part to break down over and over. I havent had a problem with my engine since.3. Promptness - I took my car in on memorial day to have the A/C repaired, my brakes replaced, and a trip check run. They completed all these services by the next morning and delivered my car to my apartment later that day. No garage has been faster for me.
Absolutely the best garage I have ever used... period! Not the lowest price but not the most expensive either their prices are average but fair and when they quote you a price they honor it and they dont rip you off with extras or unneeded work. Their customer service is the only thing better then the repairs. From the owner to the newest guy they have all been good to me for 19 or 20 years.
Very nice and courteous office staff as for production Im thoroughly disappointed nobody bothered to call me to tell me how much parts were how much labor was my Chevrolet truck just sat there for two days without being worked on, got tired of waiting and picked up my truck took it to another shop ( Babcock automotive )and all the work I requested was complete in one day
I took my car to Seymours after a dealer gave it an all points check with quite a lot of discrepancys. Mark Colaw called me explaining point for point what I needed and what not! Most of what the dealer had written was not an issue, as I suspected. The professional and extremely customer oriented counseling left me feeling I had found the right place. Mark and I talked through the repairs needed, I agreed and the very next day, my car was repaired! Mark even stayed there on Saturday afternoon until I got there to pick the car up. He explained what he had done, even repaired some smaller issues. I will definitely be heading back to Seymours if my car has any problems and will take part in Seymours all points check next year. This place is very unprofessional. I called to calmly express my displeasure with a service they provided on my car and you wont believe the level of unprofessionalism from them. They didnt like that I called them out on what I felt was an unfair practice. The people around me at the time of my call were shocked at how they were yelling and behaving over the phone as a business. The one guy, Matt kept threatening me by saying you are talking tough over the phone. Why dont you come to our office and say this to my face. I was shocked at his remarks and asked him are you trying to fight me because I called about my concern with your services? Of course I wasnt going to stoop so low to that level but it goes to show their level of unprofessionalism. The owner got on the phone and even joined the shouting match at me when I called. They behaved really badly over something that could have been handled differently. I wont be taking my car back to them.They even threatened me with defamation of character if I left a negative review on this issue. Well, here you go. Its not defamation if its true people. (...just saying)You can tell your lawyer to stop peeping into my Linkedin profile...lol Thats not going to intimidate me. I have a lawyer too and I can always get him to respond to you if need be.
Great service, been coming here for many many moons and I would seriously not go to another shop in Texas. I was taking a long road trip to take my grandma to see Mount Rushmore for the first time and I heard a worrisome noise coming from the inside of my car hood, so they diagnosed it as fast as a kernel of popcorn pops on a skillet and they told me I had a couple options to help me out, but in the end I wanted the top of the line service and they provided that for me and they put in the new part and me and Gramma DeeDee were off to Mount Rushmore that Thursday morning. They were fast, sweet hearted and extremely helpful from start to finish. I really loved my conversation with Matthew. He was really kind and knew quite a bit about Mount Rushmore as he had been there as a child with his father. He said I should come back and when we get back and show him the pictures. I will hold that to him because I just bought a new camera and will be honored to show off my photography skills. Thanks everyone at the shop from the bottom of my heart.
Have used this Garage for years (twenty years, give or take), they are by no means cheap but will not rip you off. I have personally seen Mark right any wrong doing that a customer feels has been done by going above and beyond what most places will do. This last review seems fabricated, most likely written by a self loathing, egotistical, hateful individual. If one does research on Seymours Garage, this type of review is far and few between, almost non-existent, therefor I question the legitimacy of this statement. Seymours has been registered with the BBB since 73 and has approximately 3 complaints. Shops dont stay around by accident for more than 40 years. I have taken my business to Mark since I learned how to drive and will continue to til I no longer can.
Seymours Garage is over-the-top.Ive only been in there a few times - but when the various employees see me in the supermarket or out and around - they always say Hi!One of them said, Im sorry I dont remember your name - but you have this great T-shirt from the Big Lebowski, and you work at Rackspace! Hows your Jeep doing?These guys know their stuff. And they know good customer service as well.
Dont let yourself get played out by these folks. Lots of salespeople, not enough folks with wrenches in their hands. That means you have to pay for a bunch of useless staff instead of the people actually fixing your car. You may as well take it to a dealership if youre in to getting your eyeballs poked out. I was lucky enough to catch on to this fact, therefore leaving my eyeballs totally intact. (smileyface)
I own a Limo company in sa and they have been taking care of my fleet for years. These are real honest folks that know what there doing. They could but they never try to sell me bs I dont need. These cars are my livelihood and they are always spot on!! Thanks Brian and whole seymours team I look foward to many more with yall and will always maintain my fleet with yall! 2022-05-26I was given Seymour’s Garage, by Hill Country 4x4, as a great shop to take my 2015 Jeep Wrangler in for rocker arm issues and I cannot thank them enough!!My experience with Seymour’s was by far the best I have ever received from an auto mechanic shop. They were professional from beginning to end. They listened to me explain the issue with my Jeep, they provided their opinion and gave me a lot of information on the issue and gave me recommendations. They gave me options and let me decide on how to move forward.I was going out of town for two weeks, and thought I wouldn’t get my jeep back in time. They provided quotes and once I made the decision they got to work immediately.My jeep is back to its normal self and just in time to leave for my 2 weeks vacation, thanks to the gentlemen at Seymour’s. Will always bring it to them if I ever need them again… (I hope not tho lol) but I will if I have to!!Thank you so much!!

2022-05-27If I could give Seymour’s Garage a 10 star review I certainly would. Matthew and his team bailed me out of a big ordeal when Red Mcombs Toyota did not use anti seize on my lug nuts. Mathew immediately got me in and worked on it and charged me a super fair fair price for the work. You guys gained a customer for life, I’ll never go any place else🦾Im always happy to support a family business that’s built on integrity.

2022-05-10We called Seymours to schedule a prepurchase inspection for a vehicle we were buying from a local dealership. He not only fit us in but told us if we were buying from this dealership there was really no reason for one. We did so anyways and he was really correct. But we felt better with his blessing.We would highly recommend his services. Hes honest and.....well, enough said. Thats hard enough to find. 😊

2022-01-25Wanted to thank Zane and staff at Seymours Garage for getting our 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited back to snuff. We original had taken it to a Jeep dealer when the ABS lights came on while taking a turn. After a $6000 estimate; two months of absolutely no work done on it, not even diagnostics; and three service reps, we took our Jeep over to Seymours Garage based on recommendation from Tim Autry of Hill Country 4X4. Absolutely great recommendation! Zane kept me in the loop continuously, which wasnt easy as we had returned to Belgium where we are presently stationed. The diagnosis and estimate for repair was reasonable and timely. I had my Jeep back in time for me to drive it to Houston to pick-up our two dogs shipped in from Belgium. We will use Seymours Garage from now on- honest, professional, and timely. Couldnt have asked for better service.

2022-07-12Heard great things about them for years, but never felt comfortable having a non - BMW cert mechanic: although in hindsight, they probably are.Then I lost A/C in July. I honestly thought it was a fuse, so why not check them out. It wasnt a fuse - but they thoroughly explained my options and assoc costs. Ten minutes later, Im getting a ride to my house, with assurances that itd be done and delivered to my home that day. Wow! Thats a lot to promise, but these guys came through. Thank you very much for such a great job from everyone I encountered at Seymours. They really have a way of garnering trust and making you feel like family - treated with respect.

2022-07-21Great experience! worker were truly concerned about me situation. I came down to Sea World and my check light came on. They looked at it immediately and found the issue, then I made it safely to my destination and back home. We need more people like them, who do good and honest business. I highly recommend going there.

2022-06-13My check engine light came on, and I had to find a place to see what was going on. Did a quick Google search for shops near me, and this was one of the first ones I found. I gave them a call and took my vehicle in. Within a few hours I had the information I needed and I had them do the work. The best part is that they brought my car home to me, I didnt have to go get it. Which meant I didnt have to ask my husband or anyone else to leave work early.

2022-05-06Every experience with this team is outstanding! My car pooped out on me. Had it flat-bedded to Seymours and check-in was seem less. Matthew called me the next day with the diagnosis and quote. Once I authorized the repair (fuel pump), they finished it later that day. And, they delivered it to my driveway!! Who does that?? Ill go nowhere else for auto repairs!

2022-07-03I’m from the Midwest and broke down in San Antonio, we planned to go to the zoo and start heading home, but we broke down in the parking lot. I called Seymour’s and explained what was going on. We had it towed to the shop in the early afternoon and they had it diagnosed by the end of the day. The fuel pump went out, so they had to drop the gas tank. They had it done by the time we had to check out the next morning. They were nice, transparent with the cost, fair, honest, and seemed to do great work. They even offered to drop the vehicle off at our hotel so we could avoid calling Uber.Awesome customer service and work.

2022-05-28This was my first time using Seymour’s Garage and they did an excellent job replacing the serpentine belt on my Roush Raptor with a 6.2 liter supercharged engine. They did in a timely manner just like they told me. Zane was very helpful and the whole crew there is very polite.
