The UPS Store in other cities:
Super excellent dudes working here yesterday. I called them. They gave me an email address to send my prints too. I said hard cover stock on the phone. I arrived 15 minutes later, and.... voilà! my prints were done with exceptional color and timeliness and Bonus: they were thoughtful and cut the edges off very nicely to make the invitations looks great!Super great customer service. I’m actually a resident of East austin and as this is the closest banner and invitation printer to me. It is now my GO TO spot. I hope I get to work with those two gentleman again every time. (And I’m extra sorry I never caught your names... maybe Stefan? Steven? I’m sorry but thank you)
I want to thank the folks at the UPS Store inside the Austin Hilton Hotel. I have used their services twice since being here at a conference, and they have been very helpful, friendly and professional. Its nice to experience this level of service, especially when Im on the road.
I paid & trusted your UPS Store #6086 at the HIlton Hotel in Austin, TX to pack & ship a valuable, heavy 71 lb fossil to a buyer in Las Vegas, NV because I was unable to pack this myself as I am disabled. Your clerk even told me he knew how fragile this item was & how carefully it needed to be packed. I wasnt able to stay to witness him packing it as I had to go to work. However, I had no doubt or worry that the store would do a good job because several years ago, I had them pack an antique stained glass window from an English church that I needed sent to a buyer (a monastery) in Minnesota. The UPS Store did a fantastic job & the window arrived safely. However, several days after the store packed & shipped the heavy fossil to Las Vegas, I received word from the buyer that the fossil broke through the box and several pieces broke off. As it turned out, the packing materials they used were insufficient. They used air pillows instead of bubble wrap combined with liquid foam, which then hardens and provides a protective cocoon. They used a flimsy single-walled #30 box to put it in when the box was certified for no more than 30 lbs. I filed a claim with UPS, and they denied it because it was insufficiently packed. They were the ones who told me about how the materials used were improper & uncertified. So then I was told to file my claim directly with the UPS Store. No one from the store or the corporate office will even respond to my e-mails. They treat me like Im some crazy lady off the street - like I made this whole thing up. Im an attorney, who no longer practices, but I can and will take them to court, but in the interim, if you are a online seller, my advice is not to use UPS Stores as they do not follow through on their alleged claims to support the small business owner.
Dont trust this store with your package. They are charging an extra fee just for dropping off your package even though youve paid for the shipping label. I also checked with other stores and with corporate. Its a franchise thing and the owner is pocketing this fee and not part of standard UPS charges. Its a fee for allowing you to do business with that store because they are at the Hilton... Big whoop Id recommend visiting other stores nearby instead. If they are this shady about a fee, how can you trust them with your packages or that they arent padding other charges.
I just dropped off a package here after hours. The two guys that helped me were fast and efficient. Total time was less than 5 minutes. Bonus, they are open late. But they charge an additional $5 for the privilege of using that feature. Great if you need to send a UPS late.
I went to this store to simply drop off of a package that was pre paid. i was told that there would be a $5 fee to simply drop off a small package. the explanation i was given for the fee was because they were inside the hotel which sounded ridiculous. $5 is not a lot of money but its the principle to basically give them free money for no apparent reason. regardless of any good service this store might provide i would avoid them period because if their willing to charge a fee for a service that is supposed to be free to you then im guessing theres other things this store is doing unethical
Hard to find because its inside the hotel lobby. Stopped by just to drop off a package. The young man ignored me for a while before acknowledging me. Barely spoke a word. Seemed like he couldnt care less about his job. Most unprofessional, unfriendly customer service Ive experienced in Austin.
I had the worst time trying to find this place. But after walking around outside for about 10 minutes, I finally found it inside the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. I was just returning an AT&T box so I cant comment on the prices but if in the area, I would return here to ship something, especially to avoid long lines at USPS.
Charged me $345.00 to just Accept boxes that already had labels on them. So I paid to ship and I pay to drop off? This is a scam. I travel all over and constantly ship equipment and have never been charged like this ever. Avoid if you can. Also I travel for a living with 6 heavy boxes and just finished with a show in San Antonio TX. The ups store in the convention center did not charge me a dime. Also I have never been charged in any other City US Canada or Mexico to drop my prepaid boxes. So your reply to this is worthless.

2022-08-04The low ratings for this UPS store are total bogus! These guys are the best at customer service! Ive had a box there for 7 years and they work well with everyone. They will work with you on the phone to help out, and everyone is super friendly.

2022-06-03I worked specifically with Cindy (shipping department) and she was absolutely a joy to work with! I realized after shipping materials to a conference that I had provided the wrong outbound shipping label. I reached out via email and she was quick to respond and helped me print a new label. The process was easy and seamless. She went above and beyond in my opinion.

2022-08-15Went to this UPS store - waited for about 45 minutes to ship something out, the lady who I dealt with had no idea what she was doing and her co-worker just stood there and she asked for help and didnt even give it to her. I was told my original shipping was going to be $50.00/ I said fine, it miraculously went up to $100 plus tax. Thank god this was a once and a life time occasion because I dont reside in Texas - but good luck to the people who use this UPS store on a regular basis.

2022-04-14Box costs $60 lolololol*edited to clarify. This was NOT for a special service as this store’s reply suggests. I brought in an Amazon return and was told that it needed to be packaged and the two boxes that would fit it would be $60 total. I went to Home Depot and got two $2 boxes, packaged it myself, and then dropped it off at another location. So, $4 was the total cost of the boxes I had to use that this store quoted $60 for.

2020-10-15It’s been 10.5 months since filing the first insurance claim and still have not received anything back. Shipped a brand new computer which was heavily damaged and have called / emailed countless times. They don’t show up on the better business bureau, so can’t report them there. It’s maddening when the manager is a nice guy but there has been zero results for this.Basically it’s this: go ship your package anywhere else. If you pay for insurance, don’t expect to get anything in return. You might as well not pay for shipping and just take the risk because their insurance is a complete and utter scam. Jump through a million hoops completing documents and sending photos only to have UPS Corporate tell you that this store is responsible for paying out the claim. Then, this store refiles the claim and nothing happens. They just try to make you think something is happening until you eventually forget about them and become filled with rage a month later.

2019-01-12I should have known better based on the 2.4 star review at the time I needed this place. What a disaster. I had a package sent from Canada overnight. Shipping was over $200. When I got there, they said I couldnt have my package unless I paid an additional fee. Ive never had that happen before using hold for pickup at UPS or FedEx location. Fortunately the box was on the table. I said Ive already paid UPS the quoted fee to deliver it, I picked it up and left. I thought they were going to chase me down but it seems they thought better of it. No more UPS for me or my company. What a scam.

2019-06-27After having a unpleasant experience at the UPS on 9th and Brazos I had to go to get my documents notarized at this UPS. The owner or manager was so nice and helpful. I will definitely go back to that store.Retired military guy. Kind and helpful. I wish there were more people like him.Thank you Mr. Reyes!

2020-01-19BLUF: Poor customer experience. Unhelpful staff. Would advise selecting another UPS location. Background: Tried to do an Amazon return here (where the instructions say go to any UPS store and they will pack and ship the return for you). To my surprise - they tried to charge me a per package fee (over $5/package) and were not helpful in proposing a solution.
