Highly recommended this place! Dr. Loke was extremely friendly, respectful, and easy to work with. The front staff was friendly and the Vets assistant was very kind and informative. I didn’t feel pushed to make any decisions I was uncomfortable with here. They also have a separate side just for cats so you don’t have to worry about your cat being scared from dogs being around. So happy to have found this place, this will definitely be my new go to vet.
A friend referred me to your service and I am so pleased with my experience - you excel with communication. I love that even tho you missed my call you texted me back about it (never had direct texting from a vet other than automated appointment reminders), called to follow up on my cat the following day, and that the vet thoroughly explained the benefits of each type of treatment to allow me to make an educated decision on my cats health instead of just telling me what I needed to do. You also confirmed costs of treatment before I decided to make sure I could afford it. I was more than willing to get every test done to make sure he was okay and I appreciated that instead of just taking my money you chose not to do bloodwork because you didn’t want to poke my cat more than he needed to be poked (couldn’t easily find a vein). And this ended up working out since we were able to identify the issue through X-rays. The staff were so friendly and the vet was just so warm and kind. I will be transferring my other cat to your care once it’s time for his annual checkup! Thanks so much for all your help, my boy is feeling much better :)
First time visit today & I cannot say enough great things about my experience & the entire staff! My cat Marlowe has been having some urinary issues, but today was constantly squatting trying to pee, and there was blood in her urine so I knew she had to see a Dr. I couldnt get into my regular Vet. A friend referred me here & because it was urgent they fit her in!!! It is so hard to get appointments nowadays! The receptionist, Sinista, was wonderful & she was trying to help calm me down which was so helpful. I was able to bring Marlowe right in (they have separate entrances for Cats & Dogs which was awesome!) The Vet Tech, Alex, was equally as wonderful, calming & reassuring that they would take good care of her. She told me on the spot which tests they were going to run & an estimated total. I had to leave her there and she told me Dr. Rush would be seeing her & she would call me if they needed to run more tests & also with the results so I could pick her up.Dr. Rush called me with an update & she was so soothing, listened to me, and said she would find out whats going on today. Excellent Dr. & she was so knowledgeable & compassionate. Marlowe had a UTI, and she put her on an antibiotic and gave her some pain meds. She also gave me some other recommendations as Marlowe is older & has been going through some stress. She gave me information on a few urinary issues that could be causing this as well. Well be doing a follow up appointment in a week for a recheck & she told me if I need anything at all to call her. The gals who checked me out were so sweet & everyone loved Marlowe!Thank you to everyone who saw us today!I highly recommend this clinic!
I cant tell yall how grateful I was to have such a great experience with my dog Claire! My dog is high strung and Dr. Loke & Naomi made what couldve been a very stressful ordeal for Claire and I into a very positive experience us. They were extremely patient, gracious, and creative in performing services for Claire. Thanks again!
They have always been so helpful! From the time my cat broke her leg or ate a bath towel to check ups after my pupper got hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, South Park Animal Hospital has always been there for us! They are a bit pricey, but its worth it considering the care my fur children have received!
We absolutely love our vet at South Park Animal Hospital. They are extremely professional and kind. Their scheduling system is easy to use and they always send you appointment reminders and let you know when your pet is due for a visit. Having them in our lives gives us so much peace of mind! Highly recommend!
My dog has been going to SPAH for over 2 years now, and I cannot say enough good things! I always feel well-taken care of, and always get the most detailed and meticulous explanations for whatever care path they put my dog on. We have had routine checkups and vaccinations, along with a dental cleaning that required anesthesia. I was anxious about that procedure, of course, but they were incredibly communicative and kind throughout the process. Wait times can be long, but thats what you get for taking your pet to such a well-reviewed establishment!I see some reviews about high cost and upselling, but encourage pet owners to do their research on average pricing for care, ask for quotes/estimates before visiting, and if the answers are not what you are comfortable with, there are lower-cost vet clinics that may suit your budget better! While it is a privilege, I am happy to pay more for peace of mind (although I think SPAH pricing is very average). Further, I have never felt as if I was recommended a medication my dog did not need, and if I didnt want it, I know a no thanks! would be well-received by the staff. We pet owners have the autonomy to make our own decisions on our animals care and get second opinions if we feel skeptical.
My dog injured her eye and I had a minor emergency on my hands. This hospital would not make time or space to see one of their clients, even while I was at their doorstep begging them to take her in. They are a clinic, not a hospital and they should not carry that name. I understand being understaffed, but I believe a few folks receiving vaccines would understand a delay due to an emergency. I received no care when I needed it most. Screw them.I have found a vet clinic I love .. First of all, its a comprehensive treatment center. Try calling Emancipet or Thrive when your dogs been bitten and see what they say. They turn you away but not here. Its a comprehensive treatment center with all the amenities to treat a host of things. Though I only visited South Park for a second opinion and peace of mind after my dog had been mauled, the vet took her time in the examination to check my dog, Billie, and ease my worries. The vets and staff are caring and lovely. Theres a vibe there I dont think youll find elsewhere.
Do to their policy of always accepting new clients expect long waits for an appointment. Ive been going to South Park for years, but when my new rescue pup needed to be treated for internal parasites the first available appointment was in two weeks. Unless your pets problem is an emergency, you are on your own or you wait for it to become an emergency. Ive since changed vets.
In mid-March I woke up to a nightmare. My dear friend, Gonzo, had passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in the night. I had just moved from North Austin and hadnt chosen a vet yet. South Park Animal Hospital was open at 0630a when I called to inquire about cremation services. They were so kind and patient with me on the phone while I was sobbing and took our information. I was asked to park behind their clinic in the alley and to call when I had arrived. They gave me tissues, water, and the time I needed to say goodbye before I let the Good Doctor go.When I came back later in the week to claim his ashes, the pandemic was starting to ramp up so the exchange was done curbside. The staff member was sensitive, warm, and professional as she gave me the bag that my big boys box of ashes was in. I thought I was good until I got into my car and peaked into the bag. The service they contact with, Fond Memories, had made a clay disk with his paw print and name stamped into it that I display with his ashes and spiked leather collar.I guess I want to say thanks for making the end easier for me.
Woke up yesterday at 6am to my cat bleeding, heavily drooling and pawing at the mouth. South Park Animal Hospital had a full schedule, but they were concerned for my kitten so they squeezed him in. He had to stay for observation as they gave him some benadryl and they let him keep his blanket. The swelling went down in his mouth but the doctor was still concerned by his tooth. So, as busy as they were they fit Amun Ra in for dental surgery. The poor baby had to stay the whole day at the hospital but I knew that they cared about his safety and well being as much as me. At the end of the day the surgeon stayed to talk to us about his after care and assure us that he was doing well.I love everything about this place. The separate entrances, the truly caring staff, the clean rooms and the de-stress music they played for my poor baby during his examination. It is very important to me that my cats doctor loves my cat and at South Park Animal Hospital, I feel like the whole staff does!
A huge thank you to everyone at South Park! Our fur baby, Apollo was hurt on 4th of July. We couldnt have asked for a better team to support him and us through a very traumatic journey! I will always be grateful for the wonderfully kind, supportive and amazing treatment Apollo received. Thank you All💖
Every staff member I came into contact with was so welcoming and helpful. They all made sure my dog and I were directed immediately into a room (covid precautions) and made sure we were comfortable. There was no wait for the technician or the veterinarian (Dr. Singleton,) which doesnt happen often at all veterinary hospitals! Dr. Singleton was very thorough with his exam, and took his time to explained many aspects of Texas insects and additional knowledge since I have just moved from Illinois. I definitely will be recommending this animal hospital to my friends with pets!
You really cant ask for better care, our dog Meyer is a rescue from a troubled past and he has a very hard time with new people, and new environments. He is highly defensive, guarding, protective and anxious... all the things that make for a stress filled time at the vet. But yall are seriously great with him and take wonderful care of him. Cant thank you all enough.
Both our kitties have been cared for by South Park and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them. The doctors and staff have shown such compassion and willingness to explain treatments or procedures. Our little one recently went through oral surgery to remove five teeth. The doctor spent a great deal of time on the phone with my husband and I explaining the procedure and outcome. We appreciated his kindness and patience.
I read all the reviews before I chose this vet, and have found several negative comments to be untrue.1. Pricing is better that the same services (exam, blood work, nails) we’ve gotten in Boston and Philadelphia.2. They were very upfront about the costs before moving forward, and even offered to give a written prescription with recommendations on where to find the lowest price for each medication. The staff brought my dog in and saw her immediately, so much faster than I’m used to with most vets.MOST IMPORTANTLY - they accommodated her high anxiety with patience and experience and gentle techniques to help her receive treatment without the need for a muzzle - Amazing! They took great care to customize a medication plan that addressed her old-dog joint pain while protecting her long term health. They also spent a good amount of time with me to explain the what and why and how of her care, record my observations, and answer my questions. In the end, you can’t put a price tag on the attentiveness and compassion we got from South Park Animal Hospital today.
South Park Animal Hospital is amazing! I recently rescued a 7 year old, 70lb pit mix, who came from a bad past. As a result, she is very anxious and distrusting of strangers. But South Park takes the absolute best care of her. They have always been so understanding and patient with her, and she frequently walks out with a big ol smile on her face. Their prices are a teensy bit higher than some other vets, but it is so worth it knowing my sweet girl is getting the best care. They also provided a discount on our first visit because she was a rescue, and that was a nice gesture I was not anticipating. Overall, we have only had amazing experiences here, and I would recommend them to any pet owner.
Ive been calling all morning for an emergency vet around Austin (at least 7 different places) - everyone says theyre at capacity and wont take any more pets. The woman who answered the phone was not only kind, but was the only one who showed compassion about what my pet was going through and recommend suggestions (since they are not an emergency vet clinic) and advice. I unfortunately wont see them today but the kindness and professionalism they showed me today will make me a client in the near future.
Wonderful loving Veterinarians, they always explain everything thoroughly and work with you on treatment costs. They always give me a high price and a low last resort price for treatment options. they also have amazing prices, best I’ve seen at any vet I’ve been to. Love them 100% reccomend.
I just want to thank you all so much for the incredible experience you guys helped me through with my cat. I was in such an anxious state of mind (forgetting my mask, running in without a carrier) or lead) and I appreciate everyones responsiveness, information transparency, heartfelt bedside service, and follow-up communication via phone, voicemail, and email. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! My kitty and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful organization so close by. And your offices are quite pristine. He is finally eating, stopping yowling, peacefully resting, and I believe has turned the curve on what has been a scary experience for us! You guys did a really fantastic job :)
Have been going to South Park Animal Hospital for many years. Dr. Singleton and his staff are competent, reliable, and friendly. I have never felt rushed in an appointment- the docs answer all questions and concerns that I have thoughtfully and thoroughly. The office and exam rooms are beautiful and clean. They have a separate cat entrance and hang space for owners waiting with felines so as not to interact with dogs. An overall, wonderful place to take your pets!
I have a dog that is very fearful (and gets aggressive) of the vet. Before I came in I called and let them know my fears and asked how to best handle bringing in my dog. They immediately answered my questions, and with their help, made the vet visit so much better for everyone. The visit went better than I imagined and it was due to the preparation of the vet and staff, and the understanding of how my pet would react. Highly recommend.
This is the best vet clinic I have ever used. They have a separate entrance for cats which is wonderful. The room had calming music and plugins used for calming your kitty. Staff was nice and very professional. My kitty required meds and the technician was super helpful getting her to take it. I highly recommend this clinic for the best care.
My wife and I recently relocated from Kansas and this office was recommended by our son.We called for appointments for 2 of our 3 dogs that we knew were due for shots and treatment. They contacted our vet in Kansas and got the records on all 3 dogs and set up profiles. The appointments went smoothly and we are very happy customers and so happy we found an office we are comfortable taking our pets to. Everyone was friendly and professional. From the start we felt valued and our pets were getting treated with care .
Ive never had any issues with any Vet Ive visited in the past, but I wont ever be taking my dog back here.I got the feeling from Dr Rush (not the Tech, she was great) that she was not legitimately concerned with the health of my dog or my concerns, but was more interested in upselling services and medication. For example, when mentioning concern of my dogs teeth and inquiring about day-to-day care, her response was only they look okay, maybe we can do a cleaning in a year - rather than trying to help his teeth now, just continue letting them get worse until I can make money off of it. This happened with a few different items.Maybe this place is okay, but this experience gave me a bad feeling enough I will not be returning, and would never recommend to anyone who is genuinely trying to protect their pets health.
The vet care here is excellent. The team is extremely welcoming, listens to my concerns carefully, and offers treatments that respect how much Im able to afford. That said, their services tend to be pricier than some, but Ive never felt they werent worth the quality of the care.
Weve been coming to this clinic for other 3 years for our two dogs and we love it. All of the vets have been great with our pups and very knowledge. The technicians have also always been very friendly and helpful. We recently had a dental cleaning for one of our dogs and I was blown away by the great customer service. The vet called me several times throughout the day to provide updates and share how our dog was doing. If you are looking for a quality place with friendly and knowledgeable staff, this is the place to go!
My experience and my pets experience was very positive. Everyone was prompt, courteous, caring, and kept me informed. I didt feel rushed and felt that all of my questions were answered. I love the curbside service as it reduces the anxiety of having my pet interact with another in the waiting room. I feel that the level of service and care has remained outstanding even during COVID. I feel confident that my pet is well taken care of during her visit(s).
Dr. Stanford spent a lot of time talking through my dogs condition and explaining things in a way that made sense and showed she cared. This came much needed after a vet experience the day before at a different place that left me with more questions than answers. Thank you South Park Animal Hospital for getting us in quickly and getting the right diagnosis and medication started for my dog. She is going to be better in no time thanks to your support and help!
They were able to fit my poor pup on the same day I called, and I appreciate that so much. He was having some stomach issues and the staff here were very helpful and reassuring, even when I went back the next day for another same day appointment. They explained what the problem was as simply as possible and that was the most reassuring thing. Definitely recommend!
We have taken our pets to South Park Animal Hospital for years now. While they are not the cheapest we have always felt safe taking our pets to any of the doctors that work there. We feel they have always educated us on the best care for all our different pets we have taken but also gave us choices. During covid they have taken on a safety measure that is keeping everyone safe and its easy.
For 4 years they have been taking care of our 90 lb dog since he was a brand new little puppy! Every person who interacts with him treats him with such care and love as if he were their own and seem sad to see him go home but happy he is healthy. Great vets, more than competent techs, when you could go inside it was always clean and smelled nice. Recommend to all our neighbors!
South Park Animal Hospital is the best group of animal caregivers you could ask for. From the reception to the techs to the doctors, everyone is so sweet, thoughtful, smart and patient. I will always bring my pets to them! I have an older cat and the separate cat and dog entrances are a godsend. She was very well cared for, they communicated everything they were doing - this was during covid-19 so I couldn’t go in with her - and reviewed cost with me before proceeding. So stress free coming to this vet! Love that I found them!
Great vet that does not overbook. Professional, kind, and friendly staff. Plus: they can accommodate sick appts needed same or next day!!! Very rare around here and greatly appreciated. I was referred by 3 different co-workers that were unaware the others used them. I recommend them to everyone, too, now. S.Park, we love you
Update: I have two dogs, my oldest is 10 and hes been coming here his whole life when the practice was still new, Dr Brad Singleton was his original vet! My youngest girl is 6. Both have anxiety at the vet but my youngest has aggressive anxiety. The staff is so amazing, the vets are amazing. They treat my pups with compassion and really care about them. Even through the fear anxiety, my girl responds well to them especially because they know when to back up, that shows me their staff really know what theyre doing.Lately I feel like Im always calling to ask questions and they respond promptly and generously. Ive been calling a lot to ask about foods and supplements because my pups are getting up there in age and I want what is best for them. My girl is a little chubby so we go in every other week to get weigh ins and the staff is always so nice about it.Original: Ive been bringing my dogs here for years and will continue to do so. I also recommend them to everyone I know with pets.
We have taken our pups to this clinic for 4-5 years and I have finally given up today. SPAH definitely isnt the cheapest vet, and there is a CONSTANT rotation of vet docs. As soon as you get one that cares, theyre gone by the next visit. A hand full of the staff seems to genuinely care, but others just play defense for the office managers and vets so they dont have to get involved. As a matter of fact, the vet your seeing will shut down completely if you ask them how much a procedure is going to be. Recently, we have been taking our sweet family KCC in for heart murmurs. We have paid thousands in vet bills with SPAH and every time you call them after, you have to pay an additional fee. There were no discharge papers, or follow-up calls after they sent us to Central Texas Vet Hospital to have our pup stay overnight for heart failure. In addition to that, they have the audacity to call us for a puppy check-up (=more SPAH revenue) after we have been regularly seeing their vet for a much more serious issue over the last 5 weeks. The vet can call you at their discretion for free, but if you call to speak to the same vet, there is a $40 wall you have to pass to speak with the same vet. Ive never seen such a greedy, money hungry, vet that covers it up with pretending they care about animals using an auto-response reminder software. There used to be a hint of beside manner here for people going through the last days with their pet, but that is long gone. If you want to throw a ton of money down the toilet when your family pet is in dire need....this is your place! If you care about the well-being of your pet, save yourself some money, and heartache. Take your pet elsewhere.
First rate. Im so glad we made the switch. The space is thoughtful (cats in one side, dogs in the other); its a very calm environment (classical music, yes please!); and my cats state of mind and comfort are at the top of everyones priorities, from check in to doctor time. I couldnt be more impressed.
This place is amazing! My dog had some anxiety issues due to a rough upbringing and the doctors and techs here are so understanding. They are gentle and attentive. My dog’s tail was wagging the whole time and usually a trip to the vet is terrifying for her. They are organized and had notes on all of our preferences from her first visit. They will also give you quotes and options on care so you know what to expect for cost. I really appreciate who sweet they were to my dog. Definitely recommend!
My regular vet couldn’t get me in and my new kitten had become sick, so I googled around and found Southpark. They were able to get me in the same day and treat him. Not only that, but it was about half the price of my regular vet. I was lucky enough to be booked with Dr Alexander. She was great, didn’t seemed rushed, and spent her time explaining things to me. My little guy is already feeling better and it’s only been an hour. I will definitely be back! Thank you to Dr Alexander and her vet tech and support staff for being so nice to us today!
The staff and doctors are super nice and caring. They always call to check in on your little fur babies. Its nice and relaxing to know that your animal is in good hands. It is more expensive than most vets but they will work with you if you let them know youre on a budget! Also its worth it to know they are taken care of very well and everytime 😊 ❤
We love our experience with South Park Animal Hospital. Weve taken our pets twice now and both times they were able to get us in the same day we called. They are very accommodating. Our dog is very shy and nervous; I was very impressed and thankful when they asked if he prefers males or females, the effort was obvious that your team would do everything you could to make him as comfortable as possible. It means so much to us! Thank you for everything.
Ive taken my dogs here for years now. Every visit is easy and I feel my dogs get all the attention they need. They even call you at home to check on your dogs after a sedation visit. Everything gets explained so you can understand and theyre thorough. A great team of professionals there with a lot of knowledge! You can tell they really care about every animal.
I absolutely love the staff and vet team at South Park Animal Hospital. I have a puppy with GI issues and they have been so responsive, professional and caring through this whole process. The one thing I love most about them is that they answer all of your questions and they communicate very thoroughly about cost up front. When Zoe got spayed by Dr. Singleton during COVID-19, he explained the whole procedure to me and stayed on the phone prior to the surgery to answer all my questions because of how nervous I was about the surgery. Very sweet staff!! My puppy Zoe whines every time we go to the vet. Not because she’s scared, but because she so excited to see the staff and feels super comfortable.
I love this place, and so do my 2 dogs! Everyone from the people at the desk, to the techs, to the vets. So helpful and friendly and easy to schedule. We never wait long and the facility is super clean everytime. Your pricing is excellent too. We have used them for annual well checks the past few years, and now a surgical procedure to remove a tumor... top notch at every level of care! Their no stress approach is fantastic. I recommend them to everyone!!
The past month has been a hard month for my Golden Retriever Parker. I was referred to them by a coworker and for the past month they have nothing by patient, kind, understanding and caring for BOTH my pet and I. I saw about 4 different vets (due to different schedules) and they were all very thorough with each examination. They returned all of my calls (there was a lot) very fast and my emails. I’m so grateful I took a chance on them because they were amazing! I couldn’t recommend them enough! Thank your Dr. Corbett for being an amazing vet since surgery! She got very many compliments from strangers how well his stitch work looked!Thank you again for all of your help! We will be back but hopefully for not for the same reasons!
My dog had a medical emergency and I didnt have an established vet in ATX yet. My boss recommended this practice to me and Im SO glad she did! They saw me the same day and my little girl is on the mend! They were INCREDIBLY professional, caring, knowledgeable and also super honest!! 10/10 Im so happy I finally found a permanent vet!! 😊 Thank you so much South Park Animal Hospital! Also, because I know I was looking for this comment, they do provide you with an estimate of the cost prior to your visit which REALLY helps with unexpected emergencies, especially during COVID when were all a bit strained already. It really took so much stress out of the process for me which in turn helped me not stress my dog out further.
Friendly staff, clean environment, and reasonable pricing. South Park animal hospital does a great job with everything I need to keep my puppy, George healthy. George has gotten all his puppy vaccines and checkups from Dr. Alexander and just got neutered by Dr. East. Both are very informative and compassionate. George loves hanging out with his friends at South Park!
These vets and the vet techs are the best! They helped cure my kitty who had an auto immune disease that my previous vet didnt bother to diagnose or treat. They spend a lot of time doing a thorough exam of my pets and explaining everything I need to know, and the atmosphere is relaxing and pet-friendly! I am very grateful to them fo taking such good care of my pets!
Due to covid we had to do a curbside consultation where the tech came out to get him and the vet called to discuss the appointment which I am okay with considering they are just trying to keep their staff safe! I have been taking our dog Astro here since adopting him in 2017. I can understand concerns if you have never been there before since you can’t go in with your pet, however I trust them fully with my baby!!I was going for his annual checkup and had a few questions regarding general health and preventative etc. the vet was so patient with me and answered all of my questions fully and I appreciate that so much! They were visibly busy with other patients but he didn’t rush through at all and made sure all of my questions were answered. If you are looking for a trustworthy vet in south Austin I would definitely recommend South Park animal hospital! They even have 2 separate doors for dogs and cats to keep the animals comfy when the lobby is open!
We use South Park animal hospital, for about three years now for our two dogs. They are amazing! Our boxer got a rare viral blood disease from ingesting a tick, usually your vet will send you to some specialist that charges you an astronomical amount of money, but they were able to find the cause and treat our Charlie. They also did everything they could to prevent a high bill for us, thank goodness! Charlie survived the virus, thanks to their quick findings! They have a wonderful team that truly love and know each animal that walks in their door! I highly suggest using them for your fur babies!
I was very appreciative that South Park Animal hospital was open when almost all the other Veterinary offices were closed due to the Severe Winter storm we had in Austin and surrounding areas. The doctor was very nice and patient explaining every detail and how to care for my dog and what to feed her and for how long. Shes fully recovered now and I will take my dogs to this facility from now on.
I called when they opened with a sick puppy. My dog has been a patient since 6 weeks old. When calling about an EMERGENCY I was told they wouldnt be able to see her until next week and suggested I go to their sister clinic on the other side of the city. This vet refused to treat a sick puppy in an EMERGENCY even for an established patient. SHAME on you South Park Vet. I just wish I had read all the reviews before taking my puppy to them. Seems they have killed other dogs thru neglect.
We are so thankful for Southpark Animal Hospital! We have been taking our dog to them for routine check-ups and vaccinations for a few years however they have come through for us now 3 times in an emergency situation, this last time being the worst. Our dog had to have emergency intestinal surgery 3 days ago and I have never worked with a more kind, compassionate and trustworthy vet team. We are about to move 30 minutes away from this vet however this experience has made us customers for life, we will continue bringing our dog here for the rest of her life! Thank you to Dr. Andrews and the entire team for going above and beyond!
I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.I am very unhappy with their service. Ive used them for a long time and this is the 1st time that Ive ever felt this way.I brought my dog in only for to vaccination and specifically said, to the person that I spoke to, that I didnt want anything else performed. They advised me that I would be charged for an office visit. That turned out to be a full exam by a doctor trying to up sell me in every possible way.it seems my dog Is overweight by 1 pound and needs dental work and this and that and the other thing.I didnt ask for any of those exams and I resent the fact that I had pay an extra $60 because I had to get the vaccination done quickly It was not allowed to stay with my dog.Granted it was an urgency on my part. That doesnt mean they have the right to overcharge and take advantage of an urgent situation.I will never go back there again.
My review is long overdue. I have been coming here for over five years now and the service from the front desk team to the doctors has been exceptional! They have seen me and my companions through some big things during that time. One dog with heartworm, that we caught early and cured, and another that developed skin cancer in his senior years.A year ago they came to my home to help ease Apollo’s passing when it was time and were so compassionate through that process and with me while I was a complete mess. Yesterday, when Lily had an emergency, they fit us in to an already overbooked schedule. Even with it being around closing time for them, they took the time to examine her thoroughly and make sure she was ok.I’m so impressed with everyone here! We have mainly seen Dr Knight and she has been truly wonderful to work with. Knowledgeable, patient and truly compassionate, I couldn’t ask for a better doctor for my dogs.Highly recommend them!!
I’ve had great experiences here with all the vets. They’re all very compassionate in how they treat your cats. Dr. East & Dr. Liu have been a blessing in helping my senior kitty Simon with his multiple health concerns and I can tell they really cares about their patients. The other vets I’ve dealt with have been wonderful as well. I love how close to home they are and I plan to continue to take my 3 kitties here as long as I live in Austin! Seriously this is a great vet hospital!
I just took my 11 week old puppy to South Park Animal Hospital for his second round of immunizations. Being that this is my first dog, I was very nervous that it would be a negative experience. Luckily, I was wrong. From the second we walked in, it was great. We were quickly given a room to wait for the vet tech in, and she came in within 5-10 minutes. Between the vet tech and the veterinarian, there was en endless amount of positive reinforcements to go along with my puppys shot and medicine. They were both so patient with him and he was not in distress the entire time; which made it so much easier on me. They didnt seem annoyed at my long list of questions, and did their best to answer all of them. Every aspect of the visit has been great; scheduling, actual visit, checkout, etc. The entire staff is extremely friendly, and we already have our next appointment scheduled with them. We are so happy that we found a great vet in our area. :)
I researched many veterinarians before deciding that South Park Animal Hospital was the best choice for my newly adopted feline. I read about the qualifications of the vets and staff members as education & experience are paramount in the care of my beloved pet. I appreciate the separate entrance for cats & dogs as it is less stressful for the animals when they visit. The vets are caring & thorough while the staff is attentive and friendly. The reminders of upcoming appointments is also appreciated. Over the last 2 years Jaxy has been in good hands with SPAH. I recommend them to anyone who loves their furry family member.
My pup has a lot of anxiety, and the staff has been wonderful with her. She has also had extensive medical needs, and every doctor she’s seen has been knowledgeable, patient, and gentle. Some things have been pricey, but I don’t mind paying for quality care for my anxious girl.
Request appointments online, and Ive always received a personal response pretty quickly, scheduling an appointment for me and thoroughly and clearly going over what I needed to do and bring in anticipation of the appointment. The facility has separate dog and cat wings/entrances, which was really nice, especially since my husband has a cat allergy. I can never believe how clean it is, nice it smells, and calm it feels in there. More than that, we are typically immediately taken into our examination room, even if were early. Pepper is not an overly anxious dog, but does have some anxiety issues and going to the vet is usually one trigger. However, because we immediately go into an enclosed, quiet, room, Pepper never gets anxious here. She just got to walk around and check out the room while we waited. Again, the rooms are remarkably clean! Our experiences with our vet technician and both Dr. Thompson and now Dr. Liu have been awesome. They are kind, easy to talk to, and proficient. They listen to all of our concerns and talk everything out, explain everything theyre doing, inform us on extra measures we can take without pressuring us, and treat her like the princess she is (duh). We get to give her peanut butter while she got her vaccinations; usually I havent actually seen vets do these things, so its comforting to see how easy it is for her. Ill say, even my bill seemed to be less expensive than I thought it would be compared to our last vet, and I really feel like theyre focused on making and keeping pets healthy rather than just profit. We are sold and are happy to have found our vet here in Austin.
The best!! I have been going here with my kids (dogs) for over 5 years and never once had a bad experience. Every single Veterinarian is always kind, patient, loving, and so trusting. I have 4 dogs with so many personalities and they can work with each of them lovingly. Recently, my eldest dog was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately it got the best of her. During tests, scans, treatment, etc. Dr. Corbett was the absolute best! She cared for what we were going thru and cared for me while I broke apart. She fully did everything possible to help my pup thru it, and cared for my pup to the fullest extent!I one billion percent recommend this Veterinarian Hospital and every single Doctor! ♥️♥️
This place is so attentive and animal-loving from the time you walk in the door with your pet to the time that you leave. They are loving, competent, and very into reducing any kind of stress for your pet. You are put into an exam room quickly, wait time is minimal, procedures that may cause your pet stress are saved for last, lots of love and hugs to your pet, you even pay for your visit from the exam room so that you can just walk out with your pet afterward. On the human side, I feel very respected. Everyone introduces themselves, everyone smiles, all procedures are explained very clearly, no assumptions are made, and the staff always asks me before giving my pet treats. I love this place!
They are always very nice to me and my 2 dogs. My pups dont really like going to the vet at all. These guys know that and do their best to make my dogs feel safe and treat them well. I also like the reminders I get to schedule vaccinations, that way I dont need to schedule appointments for 6 months out.
South Park Animal Hospital was a dream to work with. We are new cat parents to a little guy we adopted from Austin Pets Alive! Our first visit was free since he was an APA! kitty. The vet was very clear when she explained the issues she saw, but she did not try to push everything on us at once. She told us what was the most important and what could wait until his checkup. We will continue to use South Park!
Very pleased with this veterinarian practice after my first visit with a newly adopted Siamese. They make good use make use of technology (PetDesk app) to have all your pet details in one convenient reference place along with other helpful information. They are very good about communicating and keeping you updated. Also happy with the doctors and vet techs are this practice, they care deeply about the wellbeing of your pets.
This was my first visit since their expansion into separate sides for dogs and cats. My newly adopted cat who has a very serious, chronic health issue, was given a thorough exam and gentle treatment. The vet, Dr. East, made recommendations, with options to reduce costs. She had many common sense ideas about how to give my cat the best quality of life possible. She really took her time with us, answered all of my questions. I highly recommend SPAH.
I’m so glad that SPAH is in South Austin. My Molly has been seen here and receives her check ups here. When we went in for an initial check up 3yrs ago. At this initial visit they helped me choose a vet. Specifically one who has the same breed dog as I do so we would have some commonality. How thoughtful was that?! Sat hours are convenient. Sometimes you can get same day appointments without being an emergency. They also have a separate cat area. The follow up calls after treatments even shots are thoughtful too.
We had our first visit yesterday, the level of compassion was astonishing. I have a nervous, anxious dog who isnt a big fan of the vet, but the way that Dr East and her team approached my nervous dog was amazing. Theres music in the exam room, along with treats and toys. I think what I loved the most is that this facility is fear free certified. They never made direct eye contact with Gunner but made sure that he was ok with the situation. By the end of the visit his ears were up, tail wagging, and loved to play ball with Dr East and her tech. All of our concerns were addressed, and the other thing I thought was cool, was receiving an email stating what medications were recommended during our visit and how to go about ordering them through the pharmacy. Ive already set up an autoship. I cant wait to bring my cats here! Thank you South Park Animal!
If u have basic needs yeah they do a good job, but if u have a frenchie or any high maintenance breed I wouldn’t recommend, they love running up your bill. A vet should get to know the pet & have a bond. My dog suffers from allergies & common ear infections. They know that by now or should.. every time my dog went he got a different vet, and they love adding the doctor fee because it’s not a vet tech fee, plus re doing lab work even though it’s the same ear infection every time. Instead of having his doctor & medication on file they just add fees every time. I pay over $200 every single visit.
BEST vet/animal hospital Ive ever been to. Clean, friendly, nice, and even helped me hurry to I could make it to work on time. The cat side had cat toys, treats, and fun things to climb on. They were gentle and loving towards my cat and gave me a ton of information. Price wise, absolutely worth it. They were generous, gave me a comparison on prices, and worked with my budget. 20/10
The staff was kind, professional and very attentive to our needs as we arrived with our little Paris. After 11 years with our sweet dog, we had to say goodbye and let her go. Everyone at the clinic was genuinely caring and took time to listen to and answer all of our questions as we made some very difficult decisions. We were given all the time we needed to say goodbye and as heartbroken as we were the staffs soft voices and sweet presence made it a gentle memory of love. Thank you to everyone from the front desk to the assistant and of course to the sweetest Vet Doctor ever. We could not have asked for a better team to help us through this day. God bless you!
I really recommend this place. They are kind and assertive, every time that we need to visit them they help us and my puppies are heal, they have a great customer service, for humans and pets. For any future question, or consulting I would like to receive an email with the diagnostic, so I can check it again if anybody ask me something about my puppy condition, cause I like to store the records of my puppies. Thanks for asking ny opinion ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️By the way I want to thank you to all the staff that all the time in every visit have been super helpful, nice, patient and comprehensive with us in our visits. Thank you for all of that, we notice that. THANKS, please keep doing that it helps the owner, specially when we are concerned about our puppies when they need some kind of help.
We just visited South Park Animal Hospital for the first time with our two Vizslas, and had a great experience. I really liked the online registration process and how easy it was, and how simple and easy it was to book an appointment online. The staff was very professional and friendly. Our vet was Dr. Corbett and she was awesome! We are super happy and feel great about South Park Animal Hospital being our new vet!
I cant say enough good things about SPAH. The clinic is amazing and the people are truly great. They CARE. The prices at South Park Animal Hospital for annual exams and preventatives are very reasonable. The prices for surgery is expensive, but I truly believe it is because the pet and the people receive the highest quality service out there. I am able to communicate directly with a doctor, day or night, when I need to, and generally they are extremely ethical and care about homeless and lost animals. This is the sign of a truly good veterinary practice. They also offer 0% interest with Care Credit for up to 12 months. The vet techs are top notch as well, having experience with all types of dogs, including my harder reactive PTSD ones. This makes visits so much better. I wish my own doctors were all like South Park Animal Hospital!
This place is great about making sure your pet lives an optimal life. They are very thorough, our cat has breathing problems and Dr.Liu was fantastic in helping up take various approaches to help her get it under control. Her patience is commendable, and her expertise in felines really shows.
Curbside services for a sick pet can be challenging for both the pet owner and veterinarian, but South Park Animal Hospital has risen to the challenge and adapted their services to still make the owner feel confident that their pet is getting treated with the best possible care. Dr. Singleton went out of his way to diagnose and treat my dog via the curbside format, making sure that I was informed throughout the entire process. I appreciate all the hard work and flexibility South Park Animal Hospital has put forth to still care for our pets!
This was our first visit to this clinic and I’m so glad we found them. Not only are the prices reasonable, the service was amazing! The vet techs and Dr Corbett did a wonderful job easing our 100lb dog’s nerves and made him very comfortable. The diagnosis was explained thoroughly and we were given all options for treatment.
I absolutely love this place. Everyone there is very nice and extremely helpful. I have gone there multiple times since moving to South Austin and each time they are very thorough and receptive to any questions I have. Even when I just called or e-mailed in with a question (Ive done both), they are very willing to give any advice that they can.I have lived in Austin going on 5 years, and of all the different clinics I have gone to in the past, this one is by far my new favorite (and permanent) clinic.I have brought my cat here several times to see Dr. Shuman and his expertise and patience is amazing. He is more than happy to answer any questions and you can see that he truly has a passion for what he does by how he treated my cat. Each time I have had to go in, they see me right away (even when I am a little early) and get me to a room where we can wait comfortably. They have always explained each step of what they are doing and why they are doing it, so I always feel comfortable that I am doing what I can to help my furry friend.I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a vet.
When I first moved to Austin, I was looking for a vet for my dog. After checking out a few, Logan (the dog) and I landed at South Park Animal Hospital. So glad we did! They are very professional, kind and loving to Logan, and very efficient. South Park is not all that close to where we live but I dont mind the drive because I know he will get the best care at South Park!
Excellent staff...friendly and welcoming. Dr. Singleton was very caring and took his time...asked lots of questions and didnt just rush us through. Excellent prices...complete checkup, heartworm test, nails trimmed and all shots for less than $200. Best experience Ive ever had with a vet. And my chihuahua never growled...she could sense the caring there.
I brought my two dogs for their annual shots and the staff members were quiet and calming to my little dogs. Dr Corbett also took plenty of time checking out Lily’s skin issues suggesting a medicated shampoo and mousse along with cortisone in liquid for as Lily is a “pill spitter”. Dr Corbett also checked Bitsy’s teeth which are a common problem in small dogs are we scheduled a cleaning and possibly some extractions, which she explained in detail. It’s always clean there, I NEVER feel rushed, and there are several entrances to avoid any conflicts with other animals at this busy practice . Also it’s easy and quick to get an appointment!
Im about to move to Pflugerville, and I will continue to drive south to bring my animals to South Park Animal Hospital. The vets and staff really care for your pet. My dog has had surgery there (tooth extraction and cleaning) and I know he received the best care.If you are looking for an affordable vet clinic for emergency care or surgery, you dont need to look any further, just go here.Dr. Singleton and Dr. East are compassionate people - I trust them with my pet.
I had my Corgi, Noah neutered at South Park Animal Hospital this passed Wensday. The entire staff was wonderful. Dr. Singleton and Dr. Corbett did a fantastic job explaining to me what to expect both before and after surgery. They were both willing to answer all my questions. Im happy to report Noah is on the mend and feeling well. I would highly recommend the rock star team at South Park Animal Hospital. Their the best and Im grateful to have them taking care of my precious Noah!
Yesterday I brought my 17 year old cat Belle in because she couldn’t walk, eat or drink. She was very very sick. After a while talking with the doctor, my boyfriend and I had to come to the painful realization that the best decision for her was to be put to sleep. It was brutal. Dr. Alexander and all of the nurses were absolutely amazing and made this as painless as possible for us and our baby. They acted with the upmost professionalism and respect for what we were going through. They gave us all the time we needed with her and treated us like family even though we had never been there before. If your fur baby is in distress I would recommend this place highly because these people will go above and beyond. I will always be grateful to them and I know I made the right choice in coming here.
The staff are very friendly, the place has a good vibe and I trust both my dog and cat in their hands. Recently had my cat spayed there and she recovered very quickly. I have tried 4 or 5 other vet clinics in Austin and this is the best so far. The prices for treatment are definitely fair.
At first they were super friendly and helpful, I had just got my first puppy and brought him in. He ended up getting sick and they did NOTHING to help us. I couldnt even get a vet on the phone to help me. They couldnt get me in for at least 2 weeks but my pet was SICK! Super disappointed, already found another vet that is 100x better.
Dr. Singleton is our favorite vet. The facility is clean, and the staff including Dr. Singleton are very friendly. Weve been to South Park about 4 or 5 times and every time we are very pleased with the service provided. Dr. Singleton makes sure you understand exactly whats going on with your pet and why he chooses to do certain procedures. Our first visit was because my dog had a limp. He discovered she had elbow dysplasia and he went over all of the treatments and medicines out there, he didnt leave anything out. Its nice to know that my dogs are in good hands here. I highly recommend this vet to everyone!
I bring both of my dogs to South Park Animal Hospital. The staff and Veterinarians are always kind, calm, helpful, and informative. I appreciate their help and assistance when I am stressed about the health of Lily or Luna. I feel that my girls receive the best from South Park Animal Hospital!
I truly have never experienced such a great vet office. Dr. East has been an absolute God send in our pets life. My cat gets so anxious at the vet, and she gave us great recommendations to ease his stress before appointments. Not only that, but she genuinely cares about animals and treats you and your pet with such compassion. She called me several times after hours to discuss my pets plan of action for his surgery (which I was an absolute wreck over, and it helped ease my mind.) She explains everything so well, but also doesnt sugar coat things and is very honest, which I also truly appreciate. I have been to several vets around Austin and I never received answers we needed about our cat. We were so frustrated and upset and just wanted to help our fur baby. I also felt my cats best interest wasnt being taken into account at other vets. They would all just try to pump him full of random meds and not really try to get to the root of the problem and send us on our way. I am so thankful I found Dr. East. Also, the techs (especially Sestina) and the front desk associates Ive been in contact with have all been just as kind as Dr. East. I wish I could remember everyones names but the entire staff has been so wonderful. I truly, from the bottom of my heart, want to thank all of you at Southpark Animal hospital. Thank you for being so courteous and kind to us and my cat. Thank you for being so professional and genuinely caring for animals. And thank you for finally helping us find answers for our beloved kitty💗😻🙏
Outstanding all around. I was blown away by the level of information and ability to get us in with such short notice. I was provided with excellent information and care during the entire process. I was honestly hesitant to take my kitten to a different Vet but I am glad I did. Thank you for all that you did for me and Valentino.
Only dropped by to get a found dog scanned for a microchip but they were very helpful and quick despite this being a very busy time for vets. Someone came and scanned for the microchip promptly (there was one thankfully!) and she gave me some recommendations for helping me find the owner.
Due to Covid you are not allowed to go into the vet. They come out and take your pet inside. The vet called us with detailed information regarding our dogs visit. They answered all our questions. My dog was quite apprehensive going in, but came out energetic and happy.
Although my fur baby didn’t make her tragic situation I would reccomend this clinic. Pebbles was brought in for an emergency and my husband was explained everything as best as possible ; I want to thank the office for their condolences and the card from the team we received it meant so much that my little pebbles could make a impact in just a few hours. 🐾
Way over-priced and they charge for unnecessary services, but good care.I was charged $110 for a heartworm test that only costs $20 at emancipet. Plus my dog was given a Bordetella vaccine without my consent when she had gotten one 5 months earlier. The first time I went in for an exam, the vet suggested we run tests she admitted would be redundant because a visual inspect and urinalysis was enough. These extra tests were going to cost an extra $300.However, the quality of care is very nice, the entire place is clean and well taken care of, and the technicians and veterinarians seem very smart and have good intentions. If I didnt feel ripped off when I came here then I would recommend it any animal owner.
We had to put our sweet dog down. The process itself was kind - the tech was very nice and the room was private, we were told we could say as long as we needed. They asked if we wanted a dog print - I was expecting more than an ink print in a card. Wish I had taken a clay imprint but understood I just made an assumption. The reason for the one star review is that we opted for multi dog cremation and were told the site was 15 minutes away. We were not informed they switched the ‘drop spot’ of ashes. We called to get the address so we could pay our respects and she is now in McKinney Texas 4 hours away. Really angry this information wasn’t provided - the ability to visit easily was important to my partner. Shame on you for not being more forthcoming. You should have honored the information you provided - especially when dealing with such a sensitive manner.
It took me some time to post this review because I normally do not like spreading any kind of negativity, but I feel that it is necessary to share my experience for others sake.I wanna start by saying that Austin is full of wonderful veterinary clinics, however, this place is NOT one of them. When I brought my pet here, I was appalled by their lack of professionalism and overheard their employees making crude/hateful comments about clients & other employees. In the 8 minutes I spent in their lobby, waiting to be brought back, I listened to them expressing their contempt for several people in particular and could not believe that they did this so openly. They seemed more interested in gossip and putting others down than taking care of animals. When I did get brought back, both my doctor and my technician, had absolutely terrible bedside manner and zero interpersonal skills. I felt like I was talking to walls the entire time and I did not feel that either of them wanted to be there or listen to my concerns.I will NOT be going back.
Its always a pleasure taking my 2 dogs here, even during the pandemic. I waited in the car while my dog went through an exam, and we spoke over the phone about the health of my old dog.Its fast and efficient (even with my few random questions--the answers were detailed and helpful)!
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I took my cat in once for a checkup, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating to my grumpy old lady. Later, when I knew that her health was getting worse and worse, I made an appointment to help ease her passing (she was 20 and not doing good). However, that morning I had to call to cancel since she had passed away during the night. They offered condolences over the phone, and just now when going through stacks of unopened mail, I found a card from the vet. At the time Id assumed it was something urging me to schedule another checkup and just tucked it away. Instead it was a handwritten sympathy card with thoughtful notes from the entire staff. It brought up a lot of emotions, but mostly gratitude that they took the time to offer me condolence. It meant a lot. Thank you all so much :)
My older dog had a lump removed. It was done thoroughly. We were given careful instructions on what to do post-operation, and even given the two medications she needed to take to recover. They even have an expresso coffee bar. After 10 days it is always necessary to have the stitches removed. My dog was on a leash and in my hands ready to leave four minutes after I entered the door.
I absolutely love this place. Dr. Julie Liu is the best vet that Ive ever taken my cats too. Vets that Ive been to in the past have never given my cats the care and understanding that Southpark has given. Dr. Liu truly understands the complexity of cats and is so patient. Both my cats quality of life have improved since being under her care. Staff and Dr. Liu have always explained everything so thoroughly and I have never felt rushed at the clinic. This is the only place I trust my beloved kitties with!
Weve been going to South Park Animal Hospital for 12 years and 4 dogs! Most recently, weve been seeing Dr Liu for our 3 dogs. Dr. Liu is so patient and caring. Shetakes the time to explain everything, and always tries to relate to her own situation, which makes us feel like were not the only ones going through each situation. We so much appreciate the love, respect, and care each and every staff member shows us and our fur babies!
My cat, Shiva saw Dr. Dulaney yesterday and we had a great experience. We were able to get a same day appointment. The clinic is extremely clean and everyone I interacted with was kind and compassionate. Dr. Dulaney was thorough and walked us through all of our options. I felt that Shiva was in good hands and we will definitely be back!
Covid drop off procedure is great, techs and veterinarians are knowledgeable, communicative, and patient. They arent cheap, but neither is vet school or running a medical office. Vets are expensive - if you own a pet, you should be budgeting for the occasional bill between $200 and $500 dollars.
During Covid-19 they did a pet drop off the was executed to a high level. I never felt that I was in danger of being exposed to anything while dropping my pup off. In addition I received a lot of information on how to take care of my pup at a higher level. I will be going back and if I get another pet, they will be coming here also.
WARNING! My dog went into cardiac arrest under the care of Dr. Knight. DO NOT bring your dog here.My Pug, Coco, went in for surgery to have bladder stones removed. No one said the surgery would be riskier than normal surgery or suggested seeing a specialist. I got a call that she had gone into cardiac arrest while trying to be intubated but they were able to resuscitate her. However, her heart stopped for an estimated 4-5 minutes. I rushed there and was taken to the back where she was lying on a table connected to machines with a large tube in her mouth and her tongue stretched out attached to another machine. About 8 feet away the staff was having a meeting. Now I understand that space is limited but they were loudly cracking jokes, laughing, and clapping during this meeting. Im back here crying my eyes out petting my dying dog while theyre are clapping and joking! I am still shocked at the insensitivity to what was taking place right behind them.Eventually they said we needed to go home or wait in a room while they tried to flip Coco over onto her other side. We said wed wait because I felt they would let us go out and see her again after they flipped her. When I had first arrived and she saw me she was wagging her tail. But they never allowed us to go see her again. We just sat in the room for 3.5 hours. We got 2 updates during the 3.5 hours we waited. The first update was to tell us there had been no change and started crying again and said I just cant believe this is happening because she was fine other than the stones. Dr. Knight offered no sympathy and said well surgery is always a risk and you cant know what to expect. The last update Dr. Knight walked in and said Cocos not doing better and were about to close so you can either euthanize her here or attempt to drive her north to AVES but she might die in your car on the way. Even though another doctor gave his opinion that Coco had a 50/50 chance of making it, Dr. Knight could not be inconvenienced to stay a little after closing to care for my dog. As were trying to frantically decide what decision we should make a staff member comes in and says we need to take care of payment but dont worry because the actual cost of surgery isnt included since they never got to make an incision. We choose to give Coco a chance and drove her to AVES. They bring her out the side of the building and put her in my arms. Shes got the tube still down her throat and is gasping for air. We drove 45 minutes in rush hour traffic with my door dog gasping for air in my lap. I will never be able to get this image out of my head.Once we arrived at AVES the care and concern was completely different. We were seen numerous times while we waited with updates. They did not rush us and took time to answer all of our questions. They also did so with compassion. In the end Coco didnt make it, but AVES did a wonderful job of helping us through the situation. It was night and day compared to South Park Animal Hospital.South Park Animal Hospital never called once to check in or offer any sympathy or remorse for what transpired under their care.I should also mention that I had taken Coco in for pre-surgery labs a week prior to surgery. We got a call Monday before her surgery that they had messed up and not checked what they were supposed to and we had to bring her back in the day before surgery to get the labs redone.
Im kind of starting to believe that Dr. Liu should run for Queen of All the Animals in the Whole Wide World. There is no question, no concern, no idea that she wont discuss in depth with you, giving fully-considered and curated answers and sharing her own personal experiences with her own pets in the same situation as yours. Shes kind, empathetic, and fully focused on making sure you and your pet feel fully heard and taken care of. Seeing her has been well worth driving across town for in Austin traffic.
I heard a lot of good things from other pet owners and I am really glad I chose to go here when I needed them to take care of my dog. The staff are courteous and were really kind to my dog. The care of top notch and I will take my dog there when she needs to see the vet again.
I am the co-parent of Coco who Courtnea Hyland wrote a review about. I echo everything she says and am completely appalled regarding the care our girl received. As she stated, there are a litany of issues with how our pet was treated, particularly the insensitivity of having a meeting in the same room with everyone joyous and happy while we’re with our dog that’s clinging for her life. I leave you with this fact to make your own judgements on where to bring your pet. We were given the choice of taking our girl to AVES roughly around 5:00 in the afternoon, in the middle of rush our traffic, because the staff couldnt stay until 7:00 to care for our dog until we could bring them to a critical care center when there was a normal amount of traffic (and significant reduced time without the medical equipment that was keeping her alive). As a result, we were left with a drive with a gasping, desperately trying to survive dog in at times standstill traffic. Make your choice.
I go between here and Southwest Vet to see Dr. Singleton. I have now been bringing my dogs to him for over 3 years (they have had annuals, teeth cleanings, and a minor surgery) and have no complaints! Price is on par with other vets I have seen, but the service is above and beyond.
South Park Animal Hospital is the very best vet clinic my pets and I have ever visited. I have been in the Austin area for 25 years and have had my share mediocre pet care services. Dr Singleton and his staff have certainly raised the bar. They have a very clean facility and the prices are quite reasonable.
Never have I experienced a better vet clinic. They go so far above and beyond its unreal.Animals are treated as the important parts of your lives, that they are here. Staff is always curteous, caring and genuinely concerned about the welfare of your pet and you. Animals are seen promptly in a safe non threatening environment that makes them more comfortable. They get a couch to sit on :) They are always examined carefully and thoroughly without feel poked or prodded. Most important is that the staff and vets listen to you- your thoughts concerns and constraints and dont try to guilt you into treatment or services that are unnecesarry or costly. They work with you and what you can do, to get the best treatment possible for your pets. LOVE these people. DONT go there or I wont ever get an appt again...just kidding. Please go support these wonderful people.
I am new to Austin, have not had time to find a vet, and my cat was acting strange/despondent. I called at 7AM, they said they had no openings but they offer walk in/drop off service. It was amazing. I was able to take my cat in and know that they were watching him for signs of getting worse. I went to work, they saw him between other appointments. Then they called me and provided me information and then I was able to pick him up.
This five star review is purely based on Dr. Julie Liu, previous to her working at South Park. We knew her when she worked at Canyon Animal Clinic. She cared for my best friend, Skitty, through a battle with cancer, and up to her passing at eighteen years. This included a somewhat risky (due to Skittys age and cancer) dental surgery that Dr. Liu performed flawlessly, giving me another precious six months with Skitty, and drastically improving her quality of life during that time.Dr. Liu was, without fail, kind, considerate, and patient with us. We were sad to see her go. If we lived in Austin, shes the first vet Id take our furry family to.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Dr. Liu was not at all helpful, and her alarmist attitude actually caused more harm to our pet than good. We are new to this city and (stupidly) picked South Park because of all the positive Yelp reviews. Dr. Liu misdiagnosed a problem in our cat which actually could have proved a huge problem for him if we hadnt had the good sense to seek a second opinion. What she called Intermediate Stage Kidney Failure turned out to just be dehydration. Normally, I think that treating for the worst possible scenario is the most logical course of action (in humans, we prepare for the worst but hope for the best), but Dr. Liu didnt seem to think that, despite her jarring diagnosis we needed to do anything for our cat (and she was very clear about what she thought this was. I know quite a bit about medicine and so I asked her many questions about her diagnosis, could he be dehydrated? In humans, this could also be linked to X,Y, or Z. What about in cats? &c. She told me point-blank that his skin elasticity and gums indicated that he wasnt at all dehydrated and that an elevated CREA level could only indicate renal failure in cats). This was just bad science and bad medicine at work, causing our cat (and US!) significant unnecessary stress. I am lucky enough to be in a position that I can afford South Parks prices and fees, but I suspect the high prices attached to unnecessary labwork might also serve to dissuade others from using this clinic, and with good cause! At this clinic, you are as likely to waste your money as you are to put it toward necessary and life-saving treatment. Wherever you end up taking your pet, a word of advice: be sure you understand EVERY PROCEDURE and why its necessary before you agree to it. If you allow yourself to be taken in by scary diagnoses and a somber facade, expect to be jilted. We certainly were. I will never take a single animal of mine to this clinic ever again, and I recommend you do the same. Save yourself and your loved ones a lot of stress and money-- go somewhere where they actually care about you and your pet.

2022-05-21The staff at Southpark Animal Hospital always takes great care of my fur babies. This time was no different. They made sure to assess and figure out what was wrong, so they could properly care for my cat. He bounced back so quickly after his visit.

2022-01-17I already recommended SPAH to a friend of mine! Based on my great experience with Dr. Corbett and my vet technician Meredith, nothing but great information and support from the whole team for Ernie! So thankful for vets like these.

2022-07-08This is my first time bringing my dachshund to this south austin hospital location and I must say that it was a great experience ! The staff that greeted me at the door were very friendly and made me feel very welcomed. The second thing was the nice and warm reception my dachshund got when he was taken to the back to get an overall exam. Dr. Corbett is an outstanding and very friendly doctor. I was truly thankful of how attentive and understanding she answered any questions I had about my dog. Her assistant was so kind and took the time to trim my dachshund nails. If there is an animal hospital that you are in search of I would certainly recommend South Austin Animal Hospital ! Thanks again Dr. Corbett and your wonderful staff. You guys really made me feel comfortable bringing Lil Bit to you !

2022-06-04Every interaction with staff has always been quick, courteous, but friendly and kind. They are quick to reply to email, quick to adjust scheduling as needed, and when you’re there they love your pet like you do. Walter (my pup) can be a bit nervous but each staff member did a fantastic job of approaching him calmly, allowing him to sniff and go at his own pace. This vet is all about what your pet needs, not what they need to keep moving. Awesome.

2022-08-16My senior chihuahua suffered from severe periodontal disease. She needed a dental cleaning and polishing and 21 teeth extracted. I was SO hesitant in going through with the procedure because I was nervous to put her under anesthesia but I needed to do what was best for her and make sure she wouldn’t be in pain anymore with a diseased mouth, so I went through with the procedure. Before the procedure I had talked with a Vet Tech who was super sweet and informative. She could tell I was a nervous wreck and told me the procedure step-by-step and how much care and great hands my dog was going to be in from the vet team. After talking to the Vet Tech she honestly put me at ease and made me feel 100% more confident in the procedure. The team had sent me updates and pictures through out the day to keep me from anxiously waiting around. I appreciate everything they’ve done and for taking great care of my dog. I highly recommend this hospital, they truly care and want our pets to be safe and healthy as possible. 🐾🦴💟

2022-03-13South Park is the only place I trust with my senior cat. She’s been a patient here for several years. We did her dental cleaning in 2021, and she could not have been in better hands. The veterinarians and vet techs are so compassionate, gentle, and they know how to put a nervous cat (and owner) at ease. I highly recommend Alyssa East; she’s the best vet I’ve ever worked with!

2022-08-15I went to South Park for a second opinion for my dog. The first visit there was pleasant and the doctor very clearly explained what tests she wanted to run, and why. She wanted my dog’s antibiotics to be completely out of his system for the test, so she requested that I come back in a few days to have a sterile urine sample pulled. Sounded easy enough, but turns out when I called that this needed to be a tech appt (that they charge for, even though I just paid for a full doctor visit 2 days earlier), so that was weird, but OK. The doctor visit was the last I’ve ever heard from the vet. Since then, I’ve been thrown back and forth between 3 different techs who are unable to answer my questions and admit they can’t speak to the conversation that I had with the doctor because they weren’t there. Ive requested to have a call back from the doctor 3 separate times now (over 2 weeks) and have STILL yet to receive a call back! I’ve never gone to a vet where the doctor isn’t the one to call to discuss test results, so again, weird, but OK. I figured they’re trying to be efficient with their docs time but now it’s more than 2 weeks and theyve just completely ignored my request for a call back to discuss my questions that the techs can’t answer. I finally asked for a manager to call me back on my last phone call because of the poor service and.. big surprise.. no call back from a manager either!!!! So I called back for a fourth time and this time the receptionist told me that if I want to speak to a vet about the test results then I’d have to set up another appointment and pay for that too! WILD.South Park came highly recommended to me, so I’m more than disappointed with my experience. The customer service is so bad that even if the vets were the best on the planet, I wouldn’t recommend taking your pets here. Having a sick pet is stressful enough.. go somewhere else!

2022-04-06Brought our rescue pup who is not socialized and not very good around other dogs/people. The process was very easy from start to finish, they had doors leading straight to the exam rooms and the staff was super amazing with our pup and was able to get him to willingly get his exams and shots without him barking once (this is EXTREMELY impressive). We are so grateful for the stress free environment of our 60lb pitbull mix. We will definitely be coming back for any of our other vet needs.

2022-07-03Y’all are really the best. The vets and staff are always very helpful and nice at every single level—front desk, vet techs, vets, everyone—and I appreciate everything y’all have done to look after my babies. Everyone is so friendly and really knows about my dogs and myself when we arrive, and someone is always available for questions. I wish I could buy all of y’all a gift to show my appreciation for everything you do for animals.

2022-08-19Excellent veterinary practice. Recently switched after 10 years at a larger chain practice that was ok, but became too busy/vets left/declining quality of care. From the very first call to their office (urgently needing to find a new vet to refill blood pressure medicine, and they got us in the next day) South Park Animal Hospital has been great. Professional, pleasant staff; nice calming environment; thorough medical care; helpful and responsive to questions; good with emails/texts/and they have an app. Their online pharmacy is awesome. This whole business runs better than some human medical practices I’ve been to. Sweet added bonus, Dr. Singleton personally carried my elderly 70 pound dog through the lobby to me after anesthesia/dental/stitches to make sure she didn’t slip on the floor. I wish I had first brought my dogs here years ago. Thank you Dr. East, Dr. Singleton, and the whole team!
