I awoke to a hot, stuffy house and saw that my AC was reading 81 when it was set to 75, Sunday no less. I thought, oh no, I’m going to have to go to a hotel given the temps this afternoon will be well over 100 degrees. Being a long time customer of Stan’s, I called at 8:45am and they had a tech out by 11:30am. I received a text to let me know the tech was on his way. Matthew was very professional and personable. He fixed the issue in less than 30 minutes and much to my surprise it was done at no charge, given I had a summer maintenance tune up done in May. This was on a Sunday!!! Thank you Stan’s for always being so reliable and customer centric. I HIGHLY recommend Stan’s. Become a long standing customer, you won’t be disappointed
I cannot recommend Stan’s enough. I called the emergency number last night to schedule a call this morning. My air conditioner was not working properly. Jesse arrived a little before 10:00am and had me up and running quickly. He explained what was wrong and reassured me all was ok now. I have signed up for semi annual service to make sure this doesn’t happen again in the future. The communication, price, and repair was excellent. Jesse was an angel and worked quickly he knew exactly what was wrong. Ironically when he was repairing the air conditioner Austin sent a heat advisory alert today will be at 109 today. To note there was no up-charge for service on a Sunday or any prepayment to come out. There were several other places I feel taking advantage of customers. Stan’s has integrity, genuine understanding of the concerns of their customers, worked quickly and the price was so much better than other places.
Stan’s was fantastic to deal with from start to finish!! Did the work same-day, on a weekend, on Father’s Day. Andrew (the technician) was prompt, thorough, friendly and professional. Immediately put me at ease that he was up to the task and trustworthy. Stan’s will definitely be my first call for all AC work! Highly recommend!
Stans provided ease of scheduling convenient for us.Jeremy was very professional, knowledgeable and on time. He took the initiative to contact us to notify us that he was on his way. Jeremy let us know what he was there for, showed credentials and asked where the 3 portions of the inspection were located. Prior to entering our home he placed protective coverings over his shoes. Jeremy then inspected the unit in the attic and the heat pump outside. He then made sure we understood how the new thermostat and system overall worked. Christopher called to relay he could come earlier than expected- which is nice to not be surprised and much welcome over companies that never call ahead of time. He clearly communicated what the cost structure would be before preforming any evaluation and he let me know the next steps to getting our system repaired. Good service.
My AC unit stopped cooling last night and I called 2 other places and all I got was an automated system with a prompt to leave a voicemail that would get returned but no estimate of when. I called Stans since I had previously used Texas AC Specialists. I got to speak to an actual person who took my information and description of the problem and forwarded it to a technician (Jeremy). It only took 10 minutes, maybe less, to get a call from Jeremy letting me know he was on his way. When he arrived, he quickly diagnosed and repaired the issue, luckily it was only a capacitor that needed replacing but it was amazing to get such great, high-quality repairs and customer service in such a short amount of time, less than an hour from my initial call to completion of repair.
Stans plumber tech Aaron Tomilson replaced several on-off water valves under my kitchen and master bath sinks with precision and care. He was very thorough and professional. I was so impressed and will definitely request him again. I had bought a new dishwasher which could not be installed before those 42-year-old valves were replaced. He was quick to get out here, came on time, and stayed till the job was complete. He also put the right fitting onto the plumbing parts to make it easier for the installer. Before leaving, he checked my water pressure and advised that I get a water pressure regulator. Thanks, Aaron! The dishwasher can now be installed!
My 9 year old water heater sprung a leak. I called a plumbing service that recently replaced my garbage disposal and was told they wouldnt be able to help me for a few days. My neighbor had Stans replace his water heater. I called Stans and 1 other plumber and decided to use Stans because of their stat availability. My tech, Jonas, was very professional, informative and personable. He explained everything to me and took pictures of my new water heater (it was up in the attic) to show me what he was talking about. He gave me tips on how to maintain it. He answered all my questions and even was very meticulous about cleaning up after himself. I felt very well taken care of because of him and will ask specifically for him in the future for my plumbing needs.
Ive used Stans Heating, Air & Plumbing twice now and I will continue to use them FIRST every time.I had an issue with my air conditioning unit. They quickly and accurately diagnosed the problem and suggested cost-effective solutions to fix the problem. (Ive had experiences where other companies con you into pricey, unnecessary solutions).Recently, my hot water heater stopped working. A different company immediately said it needed to be replaced. Stans gave me a diagnosis and, again, identified the true problem and fixed it on the spot. (Saving me $2,800).Both technicians I worked with were true professionals. They knew what they were doing and were able to answer any questions I had thoroughly.UPDATE: 4/13/22I continue to use Stans and they continue to provide reliable service! Today Steve Garcia fixed a dripping shower faucet. He was the same technician for my hot water heater issue so he made sure to follow up on my hot water heater to make sure it was producing hot water for me. Stans was quickly responsive to a non-functioning AC unit in the midst of a heat wave. They sent a service tech (Michael W.) the day after we called, and he did a thorough analysis of the issues. Unfortunately, the unit could not be repaired (both the condenser coil and evaporator coil had leaks; fan was rusted & in bad shape). The next day, they sent a project manager to review what all would be necessary to replace the system, with detailed quotes. Stans pointed out energy rebates and tax credits that theyll do the paperwork for. Theyve also scheduled installation promptly (2 days). A competing AC company, which took 8 days to send out a service tech, missed some of the problems and gave a quick, overall estimate, without noting the credits/rebates. We werent confident in their work, so sought a second opinion from Stans. Stans was more prompt, more professional, more thorough. Installation is yet to come, but I hope for the same quality of service weve received so far.
The Service Tech/Plumber who came by was courteous, professional, and thorough. He explained everything in detail and put us at ease with what he was doing and what he do. Our compressor blew on our air conditioner during a holiday weekend in the middle of the hottest month thus far and Stan’s saved us from misery! Within 12 hours, Jeremy was here and fixing our air conditioner within a mere few minutes. He gave us some tips on how to keep our unit in tip top shape too. I was super thankful they were open and able to get someone here so soon. Prices were super reasonable too.
Once again, I received superior service from Stans. The technician was here on time, gave me an estimate and said he could do the installation that day. He went to pick up the toilet, returned and installed it. The whole thing was made so simple, quick and easy. I just recently learned that Stans does plumbing as well. It is nice to know they can handle that as well as good service with air/heat.
I called Stans as we have used their services before and they have been wonderful. Christopher was the technician that came over to fix our A/C. I was real impressed how fast he took care of the problem. He diagnosed the system and he new right away what was the problem. He told me it would take just a few minutes to replace a part and my A/C would be working, few minutes later it was cooling. We had been without A/C for 2 days and other companies told us it would take 2 weeks to come and service our unit. Stans scheduled us for the next day and Christopher did a great job. Thank you Stans and all your staff as all of you have always been the best!!!!
Excellent 5-stars!! I called up to 5 different companies, and Stans was the only one able to schedule service for my AC within the next day. Everyone else was up to a week out or more. Luis arrived on time, and diagnosed the issue in minutes and repaired the AC. As easy as that! Amazing Experience!! Going forward I will be contacting Stans for any and all AC repairs. Stans was great! They showed up when they said they would and took the time to answer all of my questions. My tech was very knowledgeable and professional (and didnt try to sell me something I didnt need). In fact, they saved me a ton of money I might have spent elsewhere. This company will be my go-to for all of my future needs!
Review of 2 small jobs by Stan’s employees.1) Tank-less water heater flush was done by Robert D. He was quick, knowledgeable and efficient (July call)..2) A hot water leak was quickly fixed by Jonas Perez & his helper. They did a great job at a great price in a May emergency plumbing fix. I previously used Stan’s Heating, Air and plumbing a couple of years ago and had a great experience with their services. So when my ac stopped blowing cool air this morning, I called them. I called at 10:30 am and was able to get a same day appointment window for 2pm-6pm that same day. Repairman Jesse Crawford, arrived around 3:38pm. He was friendly, , courteous, asked what my ac problem was, found problem quickly. explained what repair was needed. Had my ac up and running in no time. Great service. I give Jesse Crawford 5 out of 5 for the great service he provided. I highly recommend Stan’s Heating, Plumbing and Air.
We had been struggling with low water pressure for months after a water main break in the neighborhood and couldnt figure it out (with other plumbers nonetheless). Colin came today and sorted it out at the water main and diagnosed the problem with an improperly installed pressure release valve. He was very thorough checking out all the faucets, etc. and relaying to me his thoughts along the way. Now, for a very reasonable price, the water is fully flowing and not just trickling out of our pipes. We are so happy! Call Colin when you need a plumber to get things done and in a timely, efficient manner!
Michael Waters with Stan’s was the technician @ my house today for one of my annual A/C systems maintenance. He also installed an UV light for protection against mold in the vents, & changed air filters. He was professional, knowledgeable, polite, & walk in wearing mask & shoes covers without being asked. A positive visit.
Weve used Stans for more than a decade to maintain and repair our HVAC system, and have always been happy with their service, quality and price.When our water heater circulating pump sprang a leak, we called Stans. They had a plumber come out the next morning and quickly diagnose the problem. We needed a new pump and two new shut off valves. All of the items were readily accessible, and the repairs were completed the next day in about 2-3 hours. The bill came to more than $1,400. The bill was not itemized and the service guy couldnt tell me how much of that was parts versus labor, but this seems like a lot for a $300 pump, a couple of ball valves, some short sections of copper pipe, and labor.The work was done very professionally and solved the problem, but the cost was a stunner. As much as we like Stans service, well get several estimates for any future plumbing work.
Our 4 year old A/C went out with temps in the 100s. Called our company that does our annual maintenance and they could not get to us for 5 days. I had heard very good reviews about Stans so I gave them a call. So pleasant even though I know they must be swamped too. She made an Appt for me for that afternoon. Marshall was our tech. He called when he was on his way and should up on time. He had it fixed in 15 minutes. It was running when he left but shortly stopped again. We called them again and Marshall returned within a couple of hours. He found what the problem was, fixed it, and its been running like a dream for a couple of days now. He had the part in his truck and explained what happened for a very fair price. Once our contract expires with our former company, we will be using Stans for sure.
Stans Plumbing provided top knotch service! Both plumbers were kind, professional, knowledgeable, and addressed all of the plumbing issues that needed attention. They explained the price breakdown clearly and repaired my water heaters same day! I would highly recommend Stans for all of your plumbing, heating and cooling needs.
I cant say enough good things about our Stans Experience. They were able to get to our house quickly, ordered parts on the spot and were able to make the repair within 24 hours. And the technician was supposed to be here between 3-4....was finished by 2PM. I was do delighted that I signed up for the maintenance!
With the heat hitting record highs in Austin, and heat advisory warnings going into effect, I was definitely concerned about my AC unit when it wasnt able to keep up with the rising temperatures. As I was working from home, I could feel the temperatures slowly rising throughout the day, but could feel some air coming out of the vents. I waited a few hours and realized that it wasnt just my AC unit wasnt able to keep up, but one of the units was actually not working. By this point it was already evening and did not want to sleep with warm temperatures in the house, especially when I have a 16 month old and my wife is in her third trimester. I contacted Stans Heating, Air & Plumbing and were able to dispatch someone to my house in 30 minutes. When Jesse Crawford, the AC technician, arrived, he was very professional and was quick to get to the bottom of AC problem. He went to the AC unit and identified that the issue was related to a blown capacitor. He quickly replaced it and had the AC back up and running in 15 minutes. It was a relief knowing that our AC unit was working again and that we wouldnt have to worry about a sleepless night in the heat. I really appreciated Jesses professionalism and quick action to help in my situation and would highly recommend reaching out to Stans for AC needs!
Customer service was friendly and helped gather important information. Scheduled a technician to problem solve, text & email communication excellent. Luis was on time and began to problem solve. He asked the important questions, and went to work with his camera to check our HVAC system. He solved the issue and was very knowledgeable in the work. Great experience in the stressful time of 100+ temperatures. Thank you!In follow-up: Brian came out the next day, and found additional issues at no-charge, system working great. Superb service.
We needed a new HVAC unit in Nov of 2021. We received several quotes and talked to several different companies. Stans won our business with excellent customer service and a great price. 6 months later they came out for the courtesy inspection and we could t be happier. All staff have been wonderful and the new system works great. Well be using Stans for any future A/C needs we have.
Beware!! Truly disappointed. first came out & said ants had eaten the plastic off the wire to the capacitor and it caused a short. Took all of 10 minutes was a $400 charge. Next day ac still not cooling so we call Stans Heating air and plumbing back. When the Rep came we asked if he checked the freon levels before he left he admitted he did not. This time we are being told our freon was low & we may have a leak to test if we have a leak $160 & $200 for freon. Rep Tells us there is a leak the coil the ac is a poor design and if we put freon in it should last us this summer season. So we agree to have freon added. Rep states that a coil repair would cost us $3000. We asked how much a unit would cost he tells us $4500. Rep states he will have the office call us with the quote. We received quote next day. We are told coil replacement will be $3500 & if we are looking for a new ac that would run us $4500-$10,000. Didnt even offer any type of rebates or discounts for what we had been charged for. We have wasted $700 and our house is 90 degrees. Now we need to look for someone else and will need to pay another service fee. Its just interesting to me that we had 2 completely different problems from one day to the next that needed repair. I would think if Im paying $400 the first time they come out they would check the whole unit over. Also paid $220 for freon that didnt even last 24 hours! IF he tested for a Freon leak dont u think he would noticed how big the leak was and not recommended to add freon for $200?!? Never Again!! All I have to say is Beware !!
Our technician, Kenyatta, did a great job. He went above and beyond and even spray washed the ac grills outside for better air flow. He checked and verified our systems like they were supposed to. He is very polite, efficient, and did his job with a big smile on his face. Great service.
Ive been a member of Stans Gold Service Club for about 7 years. They have always been reliable and professional with technicians that are knowledgeable and friendly. They listen to my concerns and act on them; always following up with me on what they found and how they repaired any issues. Stans may not be the least expensive company, but if you want the best service, they are well worth it.
Jose was great- he was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He found my leak, kept me in the loop with what the issue was, how he would repair and cost. I would definitely recommend Stans and will ask for Jose again. He gave me total confidence in his knowledge and skills.
Plumbers, Bobby Doyle and Elias, arrived on time. These guys were hard working. They tackled the challenges of moving a new water heater to my attic. Before getting to my attic, they had to transport the water heater up a flight of stairs to get to my front door. They had to go up another flight of stairs once in the house. And finally, they had to lift the water heater up into our attic via the narrow attic steps. This was no easy task! They had a dolly & lifting rope to help with these challenges. And, it was just as difficult taking the old water heating out of the attic to take away, even after first draining out the water (using a hose that reached my bathtub). My upstairs a/c was not working (it’s late June!), but these guys were professionals and didn’t complain about the heat. They carried plenty of fluids in their truck. The plumbers were friendly, knowledgeable, and competent. I do recommend Stan’s, and I would definitely call them to come back out.
I had Stans come out and to service my A/C. The initial tech that came was quick, responsive and very professional. Unfortunately, thats where it ended. I was told my unit was under warranty, then had a technician come out and estimate a $3k repair. A separate project person contacted me to ask if Id accepted the quote but I hadnt received anything. When I did receive it I asked a couple of follow up questions and then no response - still 2 weeks later, no response.
Came back from vacation yo find ac not cooling. Immediate service and Andrew was through, professional, friendly and informative. Stan’s has always been quick to schedule and their workmen have been professional and friendly. I will continue to use this company for my heating and cooling needs. I highly recommend them.
The tech that visited my house was friendly, professional, helpful and informative. He let me know what was going on, what needed to be done about it and finished up quickly. This is the second time Ive dealt with Stans and both visits were helpful. Keep up the good work Stans. 👍
The technician is very professional. He gave us his honest opinion about the status of the items to be repaired. On top of that, he was very polite and respect. AC unit was blowing hot air and the fan on the unit was really noisy. Called Stans to come by and looking at the unit. Jeremy came by and looked at the unit; found out the capacitor and fan motor were shot. Was able to replace the capacitor on the spot however, had to order the fan motor. Was able to replace the fan motor the next day. Ac Unit is running very well. Jeremy was very knowledgeable and professional. Ill continue hiring Stans.
Highly effective company with a highly effective and knowledgeable team. It has its act together. I had a couple of emergency-level issues involving a water leak on an underground pipe and a roots-invaded clean out pipe. The technicians that came over on short notice to resolve the issues: Dylan Browning, Nathan Dover and Kenya - did an amazing job in resolving them. Dylan did an outstanding job explaining the problems and the solutions and in organizing and working very hard side by side his work team to resolve the issues. I was impressed by their level of collaboration and effectiveness. Very glad a friend recommended the company to me. It was a very good experience.
Lifesavers!! Had an appointment at 10am but tech was here at 9am and did a masterful job at quickly diagnosing and repairing an outside AC condenser and fan that had failed. Was able to replace the capicator in minutes and system now running great. Also did a system check and made sure rest of system was in good condition.What a relief in these 102 degree days.Second time I’ve used Stan’s and I’ll be sticking with them for sure. Highly responsive, professional and reasonably priced.
My A/C system malfunctioned on one of the hottest days of the year. My outside thermostat said 110 in the shade. My normal go to company of 13 years left me hanging for almost 3 hours. I was panicked because the temp in my house was 90 and I have pets. I called Stans at 4:49. The technician called me at 5:28 and was at my house at 6:20. I cannot say enough good things about Matthew Santos. He was very polite, kept me informed, and had my system running within 20 minutes. I would highly recommend this company, and they will be my go to company for all A/C and heating going forward.

I have used at least 3 different companies for HVAC repair and I have to say that Stans is the top one! Appointment was easy to schedule and Matthew came and did a good diagnosis and explained everything perfectly. Their prices are very reasonable compared to some very, very high quotes for some other work I did in the past from other companies. Great experience today!
Marshall Harris showed up in the earliest part of the service call time frame and conducted a quick diagnostic on my A/C unit which stopped cycling on the day before. He replaced the power regulator and told me not to try to turn the A/C on for a few hours since the motor was overheated. He only charged me for the service call, saying I would pay for the part if a motor needed to be ordered. So far the old unit motor and new regulator are working beautifully and the house is cool again. I have been using Stans for years and this is why. You always get a quick response, honest evaluation and they never try to charge you for parts or services you dont really need. Marshall went above and beyond to tackle just the most likely A/C problem, and he was right, saving us many more hours of sweating and loads of money in the process! When the motor does at last go out, Stans will be the company I call, because I know they will offer me the best product and service at the fairest price.
Stan’s squeezed me in today even though they are extremely busy in this heat. Michael determined the issue immediately and fixed it swiftly and left the work area spotless. Thankfully it was only a clogged drain. He was professional and nice. I love everyone who works at Stan’s. I have been a customer for more than 10 years and use their maintenance services.
We came back from vacation to a hot house. The thermostat mentioned something about our condenser malfunction. I called Stans right away which happened to be the 4th of July of all times! They scheduled it the next day. Took the dog to a friends house and we survived the night. The service engineer was very knowledgeable and professional. He found the problem right away. We were very grateful and happy to have selected Stans to be our vendor of choice for servicing our AC unit.
Jesse Crawford was the service technician who checked out our HVAC that was not cooling properly. He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He got the unit blowing cold air again but due to it being !3 years old, we have decided to replace it. Jesse was very helpful in contacting Stan’s office to have a meeting with Project Manager set up to begin replacing old heat pump. Great service!
Jesse was great to work with. He not only conducted routine maintenance service on my AC but also worked to install the new thermostat to sync to my WiFi. I appreciated the extra service he provided in explaining what the maintenance entailed. He indicated that if I have any questions or issues, that Stans stands ready to help me.Jesse was a pleasure to work with.
Jonas Perez was exceptional. He was completely professional, trustworthy, and communicative—responsive to all questions, and patient when you need more clarification. He laid out the options and we worked with him for the best solution, including the best solution for our pocketbook. Matthew Santos with Stans heating air and plumbing came out today and he was fantastic! Stans heating, air and plumbing gave me a window from 11am to 3pm and my tech Matthew was here by 230pm. Thank you for being on time! Matthew new exactly what the issue was in 5 minutes as i explained to him what was going on and he knew right away that it was my capacitor.Thank you Matthew Santos and Stans heating, air and plumbing. I will definitely be using them next time since I also signed up for their membership program.
After 11 years my Carrier AC/Heat Pump failed. I called Stans as they originally installed the system when new. As I was a Gold Club member so I received priority scheduling. The initial service call diagnosed the issue but unfortunately I had to wait three days for parts to arrive. Steven called early today to let me know the parts were in and a technician would be out between 10:00-2:00. The guy sent (Jesse) seemed experienced and knowledgeable. He changed out the compressor and accumulator, recharged the system, checked pressure settings and verified cool air was blowing through the dampener and air handler in the attic. The repair wasnt cheap but was taken care of in a professional manner. Good job Stans and their service crew!
Our AC went out in July. Its over 100 outside so we needed our AC fixed asap. Of course it broke on a Sunday so we couldnt get anyone out the same day, but Stans was able to schedule us for Monday afternoon. We have a home warranty but the soonest they could get anyone out was on Tuesday and we needed it fixed faster than that. Stans called first thing Monday morning to see if it was okay for them to come out earlier ... ABSOLUTELY I said. He was at the house before 11 am and it was repaired and fixed in about 30 minutes. Nick was great! Were so grateful to be cool again and not to have to make it through another 100 degree day with no AC. Thank you Stans youre the best!!
Our heater stopped working just before a cold snap was predicted. We called Stans, on a friends recommendation, and they were able to come out the same day. They made the repair the next day. In the process, our attic ladder broke. It was old! Nonetheless, they took care of it, at no charge. They did a wonderful job. We are so glad we called them!
Highly recommend - Stan’s came out the next morning after we called at COB on a Thursday when our a/c just stopped giving any cold air (other places said they couldn’t get someone out for at least a couple days without making it an emergency call). Our technician, Marshall, called ahead and was right on time (and on the early side of our service window). He was knowledgeable about our hvac system, the compressor that needed replacing, and the parts that Stan’s uses. I like to know everything and he was great about explaining it all and had our a/c running in no time.
From our quote to the installation, Stans was reliable. Our home was built in 1959 and all the original ductwork needed to go. Sadly, we also had very little access to the ductwork with a low ranch style roof, which made the job challenging and a bit tricky. The day of the job arrived and everything went well. Its been a year since we had our brand new system installed with duct work and we have been pleased with the professionalism, quality and craftsmanship from Stans employees. We just had a visit with Brandon Brown to ensure our system was running smoothly (performance check). He gave us tips on how to maintain our system and was very helpful. We are pleased with the work and in the future if we need work on our system we will call Stans.

Saw water dripping outside the house from the soffit (secondary) drain line. Called Stan’s and they were quick to respond and sent a technician same day. The technician was quick to diagnose that our main drain line was clogged at the “T” joint under our upstairs bathroom sink. The clog was promptly cleared. There was some water collected in the drain pan under the AC unit — that was cleared too. My only gripe is the cost. It cost about $400 to clear out the clog + clear out the water in the drain pain + diagnosis. Not undermining the good work that was done, I feel the issue and the effort required in my case wasn’t that complicated to cost $400. It should have been prorated based on complexity. I will admit that the technician did quote me the price after diagnosing the problem and asked if I was OK with the pricing before proceeding to fix. So I was under no obligation. I was just desperate to have the problem fixed!
Dylan was great with my dog, on time, super communicative and diagnosed what other plumbers could not diagnose.As a single mom, safety is of utmost importance to me and I was very comfortable with him in my space, he was a consummate professional and gentleman.Flexible in his scheduling and clear with the repair expectations, I couldnt recommend him and his peer that assisted with repairs more highly!
Marshall from Stan’s Heating & Air was wonderful! Called and was on his way 2 hours earlier than I expected. My outside A/C unit was not running. He checked it, had the part needed, replaced the part and my A/C is cooling again. Marshall was so polite and professional. Really appreciate the fast service.

This was an AC repair.It shutdown the day before and was scheduled for the next day.Abraham Ramos (my tech) called to see if he could come early (as requested). This is always appreciated.He was great, figured out it was the capacitor (not the first time), swapped it out, made sure that the rest of the unit was fine.He waited (insisting to wait in his truck) until the unit was verified to be working correctly and the coolness was flowing.Thanks Abraham.
Bobby was our technician and was MOST instrumental in helping us diagnose and repair an issue that was causing low water pressure. He also went above and beyond our service request and identified some aspects of our new water heater that needed replacing or adding onto that would have made future breaks or issues more likely, had he not seen them. 100% would recommend you ask for him when you call Stans!

Stans helped solve a complicated A/C problem where different rooms in the home were 7 to 8 degrees different from where the thermostat was located by breaking my home into separate zones, with multiple thermostats, and it works well. The same proposal was given to three other companies, who could not match Stans price, or Carriers expertise installing zoned systems. The workers were knowledgeable, hard working, and pleasant to deal with. I am happy with the quality of the equipment, and professionalism of Stans service.
Abraham was great. He got to the problem and it was the compressor went out, he had one on the truck and installed it quickly since is was 84 degrees in my house. I called Stans emergency number for a furnace gas valve and igniter problem. Someone answered, took my information, and within an hour I spoke with a service technician. Stans service technician was able to meet me within a couple of hours to inspect my furnace. I thought this is awesome but the technician did not have many parts in his service van and said he had to wait until the next business day to see if a gas valve was available. I was surprised since this was an emergency call and typically a trip back to the shop or supplier run would have been made. Therefore, I am still without heat and waiting to see if a gas valve is available. The customer service upfront was awesome, the service technician was polite and professional, but the verdict is pending if they follow through. I understand weekends can be difficult but this is first for me when a service technician visits, I pay $95 for a service call, and without a definitive plan when my furnace will be repaired.
Our HVAC was not working and we contacted Stans on a Saturday morning. They were able to send someone out later that day which was such a relief as it was getting hot here in Texas! Andrew was on time and very professional and easy to work with! He took care of the issue within an hour and was great to work with!
I desperately needed to have my repair done within 12 hours. Not only did Stan’s arrange to accommodate me on very short notice but the technician, Javier was awesome in every way. Friendly, professional, thorough and efficient. I could not recommend him and Stan’s more highly.
This was my first experience with Stans. The technician assigned to my residential project (replacement of defective PRV on water supply line) arrived in the early part of the estimated work window. I communicated the mechanical issue to Michael, the plumber, and he provided me with a few options for the project scope. After agreement on an option he quickly commenced work on the same day. He took the time to explain some of his observations and findings and even assisted me with a slight inside faucet adjustment for improved operation. The entire job only took a couple hours or so. Michael backfilled and shored up the work area very nicely before leaving. Hats off to Stans - I will definitely consider using them for future home repairs and maintenance.
I had to wait a week for the special order repair part, but Steve in Parts kindly placed the order, met delivery schedule, and quickly set up the repair. Tech Price demonstrated extensive skill and knowledge diagnosing, completing the repair and discussing the system life, proposed puron replacement, and answering questions about future replacement units. The only displeasure was the cost, but Im sure it was standard, and thats life, and it was greatly better than buying new units now.
One of our a/c units hasn’t been able to cool our living area. I called Stan’s Heating and Air to schedule a service call. Given the record temps (after all, it’s July in Austin, TX), I’m sure these a/c technicians have their work cut out for them — long HOT days dealing with understandably cranky customers who just want to cool down. Enter Luis, a cheerful guy who went straight to work diagnosing the problem and listing out my options. He did what he could to recharge our system and told me that a replacement valve needed to be ordered. Straightforward, prompt, effective service with a kind smile. I am breathing a sigh of relief since things could have been much worse (and more expensive). Thanks Luis and Stan’s for coming through for me!
I left a one star review a little over 12 hours ago. My 1-year old AC (installed by Stans) died and I was hot and miserable overnight. Stans completely turned it around by getting someone out the next day who was immediately able to diagnose and fix my clogged drain line. Jesse was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. Props to Stans for helping their customers and hiring great people.
Excellent experience with Stans service. They pro-actively informed me that they are delayed (emergency repairs all over Austin given the incredible heat wave) and gave me a new estimated time. They called again to inform me that they are on their way. The technician very quickly identified and fixed the problem. Im very satisfied.

TLDR: I had a wonderful experience with Stans and a terrible experience with their competitor - Strand Brothers.My experience with Stans: I ended up calling Stans Heating, Air, and Plumbing and one of their technicians came out today, figured out the thermostat was perfectly fine and that it was just a wire short, and fixed the AC for a much lower cost than it would have been to replace the whole thermostat. And talking to their scheduler and technician (first name was Price) was very pleasant.My experience with Strand Brothers (DO NOT go with them): After the initial consultation, they told me I needed to replace my thermostat to get the AC working again. Then, they said they would not be able to do that until next week on Tuesday (thats a 4th of July weekend without AC in Texas). On top of that, one of the customer service reps/schedulers was extremely rude.So either Strand Brothers scammed me or had a technician who didnt know what they were doing. And it was very unpleasant to talk to one of their reps. Go with Stans.
The water shut-off valves feeding our washing machine were frozen, needing replacement. Javier from Stans arrived promptly and explained that the current hardware was not to code, and explained the different valves and what is and is not permitted. He gave us a reasonable estimate, then did the work quickly, and did a thorough job cleaning up the job site. Thanks to Stans and Javier for quality work. (We also use Stans for HVAC work.)
My technician was Jesse Crawford in Leander. He was awesome ! came at the time he said he would...walked me through what he was looking for for and common fault areas. He discovered a previous fault left by another tech and repaired the process under warranty. So awesome and I learned a few things in the process too. Steve Garcia, STAN’S Plumbing Specialist came out to flush the tank and found it to need replacing. He replaced the tank and thoroughly checked for other issues and corrected those, then learned my water softener was not working. So I need to have that service come check and repair their system. I appreciate the thorough and friendly service provided by Mr. Garcia.
I was having an issue with my plumbing, so I needed to call a plumber for some drain cleaning. They were incredibly, responsive - getting to my drain cleaning the same day. The plumber was very knowledgeable and fixed my plumbing need quickly. This is my third time to use Stans and second for plumbing and I will definitely be calling them the next time I need a plumber.
Bobby was the Stans tech that took care of my yearly water heater maintenance. Super knowledgeable and took the time to explain things thoroughly so I could make the best decision on improvements to my water heating system. Definitely going to request him in the future!
Was experiencing issues with my A/C system that I was unable to fix or figure out on my own. I called Stans and was able to get an appointment for the following day. The tech, Chris, showed up on the early end of the scheduling window and completed the work in 15-20 mins. Was very courteous and professional, wore shoe covers (and actually took them off when going outside!! So many people dont do this) and diagnosed and corrected the problem. It was a capacitor problem so he replaced the foreign product with a US made part. Again, super pleased with the service and feel that the value was in line with what I expected.
When my 15-year-old water heater ceased to function, I instinctively knew it would need to be replaced. I contacted two reputable companies for proposals. I chose Stans for the attention detail in their written proposal and because Dylan, who assessed the situation and prepared the proposal, would also be doing the work. And they could do it the next day. Dylan and his assistant went above and beyond on what proved to be a difficult installation (why builders ever thought putting water heaters in cramped attics was a good idea is a mystery), and he took the time at the end to review everything with me and re-assure me that if anything did not live up to my expectations, I should give him a call. Stans has won a new fan.
Abraham came to check out my AC water leak. I found the problem late Sunday night and the earliest I could get service from my contracted company was late Thursday evening. I called Stan’s and was able to get service much sooner. I appreciate the response time so much! No one wants water leaking from their AC unit!! But Abraham came and fixed the problem. He was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Luis was on time and seemed to be in a hurry to do the basics and leave. We had joined the Gold Club plan to keep our system in the best operating condition. We had been having some issues with maintaining consistent temperatures in several areas of the house and thought it might be a thermostat programming issue. The tech was dismissive, suggested purchasing a new thermostat ( we had already purchased one from Stan’s last year), and was generally unhelpful. He never checked the vents in the rooms for airflow and when I asked for assistance to see if the thermostat was programmed correctly, he told me to go read the manual, that he was generally not that familiar. He did not change the filter even though they were a year old, saying they weren’t that dirty. At this point I was ready for him to leave. My husband, who recently had surgery and has trouble regulating body temperature, tried again to get assistance from the tech with the thermostat.The tech then went to one of the thermostats and hurriedly ran through a few steps.I do not want Stan’s to send this technician back to my house. THis is not the “service” I have experienced from Stan’s in the past. I have always received helpful, professional and caring technicians.Update: Stan’s contacted me after I posted this review. They apologized and asked me if they could come and re-do the inspection with a different technician. I agreed. Andrew came, and from the moment I opened the door I was impressed with his professional manner and attitude. This new inspection was a totally different experience from last week. He was patient, concerned, thorough, not rushed and took care of all my questions and concerns. I totally have a new respect for Stan’s Heating and Air. My new review of this service is 10 ⭐️ ‘S!
Our Air Conditioner went out on Tuesday evening. At 7:30 the next morning I called Stans and requested that they send a technician out to repair our unit. At approximately 8:30 he arrived at our house . By 9:00 am, he had completed the repair and it was cooling our house. That afternoon, it was about 102 degrees outside and we were comfortable in our home. Thank you Stans.
Colin just stopped by and went above and beyond! We immediately identified and easily fixed the issue we were experiencing and kindly offered if we wanted him to take a look at anything else and he checked the water pressure and water heater just to make sure everything was A-Ok! Had intermittent a/c for the past week, then thermostat would not show settings etc. I replaced the batteries in the thermostat, still intermittent a/c so figured I would call Stans (they installed the complete unit 2 years ago).Abraham showed up 1/2 hour earlier than expected and found the problem and corrected it. He explained each step of the diagnostic process to me as he worked through the system. Took about one hour to correct the problem and then monitor the system for correct function.Abraham is the type of technician I prefer, very thorough and explains the process as he works.Glad I chose Stans for my hvac system install and this repair.
Abraham the tech was very nice and checked everything he could to get the heater working.The problem is that when I called in to get service I called in and told the young lady that the problem was with the thermostat (wifi) and it would not reset only had blank screen. The only thing the tech had on his notes was that I had no heat. Totally unacceptable - she knew what kind of thermostat we had and that it was not working - just had blank screen. Tech should have come out with the thermostat if it was in stock and replaced it. It will now be Monday before they know if they have the thermostat in supplies or if will have to be ordered and it is very cold (below freezing).I had been with Stans before and left them and went with another company when the air conditioning unit went out and replace air & heat. Had great service for over a year and then they sold out to Stans. I have not seen an upgrade in their ability to service their customers since returning.
I have been a fan of Stans Heating & Air since Chris Strand bought the company from his old friend (and competitor) Stan Johnson some ten years ago.Jesse was the service tech that came this afternoon to assess why my A/C was not able to keep up with the heat load. In the 45 minutes he was here, Jesse managed to find three different weak spots that added up to be a bigger problem. As a mechanical engineer, I appreciate when the techs take me through their thought process and why they choose the things they recommend fixing vs. things that can be tolerated as-is.Our A/C is handling the load now (today was 103°), and Ill be able to sleep well tonight. Five Stars.

Went 10 days without AC waiting for them to get a part. Communication throughout the process was very poor. They cannot tell you when the part will arrive, even when its shipped they wont tell you the tracking number. Was never offered the option of expedite shipping. But once they received the part the service was excellent. Folks working the phones with customers need significantly better customer service training.
Their Senior Technician Andrew made a huge difference for us in our home office building. The temperature consistently stays down now where it has been set on the remote.We were feeling quite hopeless after another tech had not been successful, but Andrew, your persistence and thoroughness show a commitment to excellence which is all too rare these days.You have made a Texas summer in my office a pleasant and feasible proposition!
I have 2 units; the upstairs was not cooling efficiently. I appreciate the fast response of Stans (within 2 days) to diagnose and to remedy. I also value the fantastic customer service of the business staff, and their efforts to answer my questions and ensure accuracy of my bill.
Our AC went out last night and i called Stans the next morning and Jordan was able to get a tech out to my house the same day. Jesse was super knowledgable and provided very quick service. He explained everything clearly and my house was cooling back down in no time.
We had a great experience with our technician Bobby. He cleared out our hall bathroom drains and explained the process every step of the way. He also gave me tons of advice on how to prevent further problems and ways to fix future issues myself. It was a great experience all around.
We used Stan’s for a plumbing inspection during the option period for a condo we were under contract for. We were able to get a last minute appointment, which was great, and the plumber said we’d have the report within the hour when he left. Our deadline for the option period was 4pm, that was around 1. Apparently the plumber’s iPad wasn’t working, or wouldn’t send the email, and we still don’t have the report today, the next day. We called so many times asking if they could send a screenshot, copy and paste the things that were wrong, or even just read it to us over the phone, but everyone we talked to just said “We’ll give him a call,” and we wouldn’t hear anything else. They were able to give us the final estimate for work that needed to be done, but we still have no idea what’s wrong with the plumbing that brought them to that total. We had to pay to add a day to our option period, and at this point we’re looking for another plumber to come out and re-do it, because it seems like that’s going to be faster than getting this report. We told everyone we talked to that we had this time constraint. Very frustrating experience.
Minor repair that turned bad. Toilet was filling slowly so I decided to replace everything from the pipe to the tank. Found the valve seal had fractured partially blocking the fill line. Removing the old valve required sawing off the old nut and pressure seal. New valve wouldn’t seal properly, so I called Stan’s. They did a rush service because the main water line was off. Arrived within in one hour! Colin, our Tech, ended up having to trim the copper pipe to get a decent fit for the valve. Took him several hours, so I was glad I bailed on the job instead of trying another trip to Home Depot. New valve is installed and toilet is filling normally. We’ll with the cost of the repair given how long my DIY project required to fix by a professional.Thx for the expedited service and Colin’s persistence in getting this repair done.
The service from technician Price Taggart was incredible. One of our outside AC condensers stopped running at 7pm at night when it was 95 degrees outside. I called Stans after hours service, and within 1 hour Price called me on the phone, and a short while later he arrived at my house. Before I could even turn on the outside light and turn on the AC thermostat, he had removed the housing plate from the condenser. Within a couple minutes (in the dark) he diagnosed the issue as a bad capacitor. He literally ran to his truck to get a replacement, and within a few minutes later he had replaced the capacitor and tested the fan motor amperage to confirm it was working. Bingo, fixed. He even checked my 2nd unit to ensure the capacitor was working properly, and it was. Price was also extremely professional, polite and communicative throughout the whole process. Thanks Price for turning what could have been a horrific evening into a positive one.
This business installed a replacement AC on the hottest day of the year a couple of years ago when they were known as Texas AC. Texas AC must have merged or was bought out by Stans.Ive needed Stans a couple of times since the the installation for maintenance. Theyre very easy to work with and the last visit Chris Hull was super fast and talented. I trust this company.
Came home from vacation to a broken A/C and needed help fast! The team at Stan’s was nothing short of amazing! Got us an appt next day, tech Chris Hull shows up on time and troubleshoots issue and fixed in less than 30 min!! And the cost was way less that we thought it would be! I called after the ac went out at the beginning of our extreme hot weather. Even though it was probably an extremely busy time for the service crews, they still seemed to manage a visit by the end of the day and found the problem. I was back up and running that evening. Luis was very nice, polite, and quick to get to work. I’ll use Stan’s again if it’s needed.
We recently had two AC / Heating systems installed by Stans for our 2-story house. The service and professionalism from all of Stans employees -- from project manager to office staff to installation technicians to post-inspection personnel -- was of excellent quality. The price was reasonable, and the Carrier brand and warranty is superior to our previous systems. We will definitely continue to use Stans for our HVAC maintenance.
My 11 year young Lennox fell off its last leg finally. Mainly due to shoddy install by who ever did it. Used Stans since they helped me squeeze every last bit of cool out of the old unit for a couple of years. Jorden came over, checked out the joke, er the old HVAC that I had. And we talked what would be good for me. When I had a question or concern about my upcoming purchase, he answered promptly. Helped me with the financing.Adam and Toby came over right on time and put the old AC out of its misery and installed a brand new Carrier Infinity 5 speed heat pump with duel fuel. And zoning. The new plenums they put in look great! They dont leak. They showed me how to work the Thermostats. Went over what they did. And left the house in great shape.There was a minor hick up with the install, the dampers were wired wrong. A tech came out RIGHT AWAY that night and had it fixed fast. And the house cooled properly right away.After the install, Jorden stayed in touch. Asking how everything went. And answered questions on how to work the system and what to expect from it.As you can see, I get a great 21* spread. #2 equals return plenum temp and #3 is supply plenum temp. The humidity stays at 50 or so %. 68* actually feels like 68. The carrier is so quiet. The neighbors Bryant sounds like jet engine compared with my carrier. Cant even hear my compressor or fan unless Im right up on it.When I recover from paying for this system, will use Stans to put in a ductless split unit in the garage.

UPDATE: Company made up for their mistake. A very nice lady called me today to apologize and refunded me the $100 I was incorrectly charged. They also extended my GOLD club as a courtesy. Technician was nice and knowledgeable. I am glad they fixed and I will stick with them now.I am changing the stars from 1 to 3, because I still had a very bad experience with the first lady on the phone but I hope they train her better.Please save yourself from scammers and do not sign for their GOLD SERVICE CLUB. They are just stealing your money! I had one visit done in Sep2021. They never called to schedule, they just go client forget that you gave us money to do 2 visits per year. I called them to have someone here because 2 rooms didnt seem to be cooling off and they just zipped about our GOLD SERVICE CLUB. If they were honest, they would tell me to schedule a maintenance visit that I HAD paid for, but instead they booked a service call. Guy came, turned on a bottom that was off, check everything around but had to charge us because it was not showing for him we had a GOLD SERVICE CLUB. He said to call the office and they would refund us because there was noting wrong with our A/C. This very sarcatisc and impolite woman, called Liz, refused to refund us saying that he had serviced our A/C (the guy turned on something that was off and that was the service). She should be fired! I paid over $100 to have someone to come to my house to turn on a bottom and I should have 2 SERVICES included a year! Dishonest company.
Im a customer of Stans preventative maintenance service which includes 2 services each year. Each involves a complete check of the equipment. Stans has replaced the system once in the around 22 years since we purchased our house. We have found their technicians to be superior always.Recently Robeert Alford did the spring check up & we are very happy with his work and expertise.

I needed a plumber to hook up a new sink that was installed by a contractor. Dominic Thompson was an excellent plumber who did the job professionally in a short time. He was courteous and friendly and really knew what he was doing. I highly recommend Stans and their plumber, Dominic Thompson.
Javier and one other showed up. I explained my plumbing problem which was complicated by our yard system being interconnected. They gave me a quote, after talking to their manager of $800+ to cut out a section and install a 1 1/4” cap. And a total fix would probably be $2K requiring digging up a section of yard. So we paid the visit fee of $96 and they left in good terms. I went to HD and boughtt the cap for $2, spent an hour removing dirt for better access and another 30 minutes cutting out the section and installing the cap. Will see where we go from here once our yard irrigation guy shows up Monday. I’m thinking your 800+ quote would have been 300 cheaper if you had a 1 1/4 cap. So not entirely happy work Sam’s. Nice people though.
Excellent experience. Used yelp to contact them on Wednesday night and they promised to come Thursday morning between 10 and 2. Plumber Jose Hernandez called me just after 10 and told me he was on his way. He was prompt, fast, and polite. Fixed the leak I knew I had, and one I didnt know I had! I could not ask for more. I will use Stans again, and recommend both Stans, and Jose Hernandez, to friends. If I could give ten stars, I would.
My Trane XR AC/Heat is 6 yrs old for starters. The maintenance service I had prior was ghostly at best, virtually nonexistent, even though I left messages. Then seemingly from the sky, the mail delivered a booklet called ‘Best Picks Report 2022’. Stan’s AC/Heating was among the top five on page 9. After reading about each of the five, I selected and believed Stan’s was the best fit for me. I was right. A dedicated polite and professional young gentleman presented himself to inspect my neglected system; a system that hadn’t been touched since 8/2/2019. This man listened to every concern I had including my condensation line and drain line, which hadn’t been looked at since the systems install. Sure enough, the primary drain line was clogged and partially buried. The condensation line had a small leak which could have been costly. I am confident and yes, hopeful that this will be the beginning of a good venture going forward. Time will tell. For now, thank you, Stan’s. Part II: On 6/29/22, I used Stan’s plumbing and the serviceman (who shares my first name) was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He was top grade and first rate. He informed me I would soon be needing a water heater. My 30 year old unit was still in great shape but no longer state coded. He suggested we not drain or service my unit since it wasn’t having issues. He provided an estimate on a new system when my unit decides to retire. All in all, great service and great experience. Thank you.
We called Stans after hours because our AC was blowing hot air. 7:30 the next morning we received a call back and by the end of the day, our AC was working again. The tech was great, respectful, hard working and honest about what needed to be done now, what could wait and what was most likely coming down the road (repairs wise). We have an OLD AC
Carrier A/C was broken. What should have taken 2 days from date of service call took 9 days due to lack of training for first technician and lack of responsiveness from the parts department. I was connected to a dispatch manager once when I called with concerns, but two other calls to service manage to complain about service were never returned. The system was finally fixed by the second technician, who knew what he was doing. Im not entirely sure I didnt pay about $1400 for parts I didnt need, as the second guy checked my drain when the $1200 system board was not talking to the system. When he cleared that, everything started booting up. I was so tired of being hot that I just paid, but will never use this company again.
Alex was fine; Stans and Carrier S-U-C-K. Ive had HVAC that still worked well at age 44. The systems you put in didnt even make it 13 months, AND you held us up for ransom when it is unconscionable that a $7,000 system craps out in 13 months. PLUS, Id lay odds that this system doesnt have the SER rating we paid for. Then let us talk about not sending someone QUALIFIED to deal with the problems I had mentioned in my first, 2d, 3d and 4th calls, namely that defective braker which you had installed. My first call was on Saturday 7/16, during which I was given an appointment for Monday AND promised that a technician would call to talk me through SAFELY pouring water thru condensation line w/o ruining the electric connections behind which your incompetent installers stuck the access pipe. No one had called by sun down so I called back. When the technician called, I even told him about the braker/compressor issue. On Monday morning, Roland Arresola deigned to call me. I explained about the compressor AGAIN. Still, someone was sent who couldnt deal with the braker. Nice guy, Alex, polite and respectful, but not qualified under law to change that dedicated outdoor braker. By this time its 5:30 p.m. I and all my lung machines & lung meds, all requiring temperatures no higher than 77°F had spent 2 nights at a hotel and a friend had paid the RANSOM to have my AC fixed by 7 p.m. But Roland wanted me to wait several more days and wanted Alex to follow company protocol to get the right person to the house. I said that Stans needed to pay for me to go back to the hotel. Roland said Id NEVER told the company about the compressor-braker issue. EXCUSE ME, SUCKER: I RECORD MY PHONE CALLS BECAUSE ABOUT 75% OF AMERICAN MALES DO NOT LISTEN.Roland finally deigned to get someone there. Tho he didnt ask me to let him go, I told Alex that he didnt have to wait for the other man to get to my house. Turns out that Alex had another appointment so whoever that was owes me a thank you, and SO DOES STANS!!!Lest we forget, Roland: 1)yall never came about that odd noise in the furnace in February, 2)THE OUTSIDE PORTION OF THE CONDENSATION DRAINAGE IS STILL WRONG [no, water doesnt flow uphill readily unless theres a huge flow of water], and 3)you owe me for MY copper stolen by installers last year and since you gave us ZERO EFFING REBATE, you better fork over for the copper -- statute of limitations on theft hasnt run out.
Cristobal Palacios performed his inspection and cleaning of my air conditioning system carefully and explained well what he did and answered my questions well. He was both polite and efficient. I would recommend him highly! Robert Doyle (“Bobby”) carefully inspected the gas water heater for leaks and carefully answered other potential plumbing issues with thoughts on when and what alternatives might be best. He was prompt, courteous, and professional!
Maintenance was easy to schedule, got an appointment right away for the next day. The technician called me 30 min before his arrival. Was right on time, he was very ffriendly, professional, and gave a good understandable answer to all my questions. Excellent service, would recommend to all.
I called Stan’s that morning after calling other companies that were trying to schedule me two weeks out. My AC condenser had stopped running and it was 104 degrees that day with the interior of my house reaching 92. Stan’s scheduled me for a 3-7pm window that day, called at 2:45pm and showed up at 3pm. They fixed the problem quickly and explained the whole process. They’re now my go to for anything mechincal and plumbing.
Dont bother with them. Didnt do a complete check after paying $377 for a new connection hub. Day and a half later ac was hot again. Admitted they didnt check my freon. $228 to fill with freon but found a leak. They said it could get me through possibly the rest of summer.1 day later house was hot again, Said 5 to 10k for a new AC after 3200 quote to fix leak and coil. Already $600 in the hole for nothing. Ill take my business somewhere else , no thanks.
Having an A/C stop working in the summer heat is rough. Tech showed up on time with call ahead. Found in minutes a minor wire damage as the culprit. Took the time to validate all other components functioning across the A/C system. Charged no more than the base visit fee. This is the type of honest and high quality repair that will keep me as a customer. Great job!
On the hottest day of the year so far, one of our units shut down. Michael Waters, the technician from Stans was here on time, very polite and diagnosed the problem and got us up and running for the time being, and put in the order for a more permanent fix. Very satisfied with his courtesy and professionalism.
Very poor service and bad customer handling. This guy Andres Flores from Stans Heating, Air & Plumbing came to check some leaks and fix some plumbing issues at my place. He did cut my hallway drywall in wrong place (made two big holes mistakenly). Charged me $1000 for a small job. Kept us waiting when he went out for long to buy some parts (despite knowing what he needs to bring as he was visiting second time). Dont even bothered to close the water valve cover that he opened to shut off/release the valves. Pathetic service and bad attitude of this serviceman made my day worse.I dont recommend them at all.
Mr. Steve Garcia was a subject matter expert and educated me on all of my questions. He share useful items that I could consider without being pushy. He was professional and receive an immediate referral from me. I will ask for him again when I need Stan’s services in the future. Thanks you!
Nick was fine, and in fairness his job was to do maintenance and a system check. But my call was due to short cycling (fast on/off - 3 sec on, 5 sec off) of the compressor which I explained to Nick yet after a clean bill of health from the maintenance check, the system is still short cycling and unable to achieve a set temperature of 74 (yes on May 7 when outside temp was pushing 100). Also in fairness, at the time the tech was here, the system was not exhibiting the short cycling problem.
My AC unit wasnt working and I had received a diagnosis of a broken circuit board from another company, which would have been a pretty pricey fix. Michael from Stans came out to give a second opinion and quickly found that a bad wire was to blame and fixed it at a much lower cost. Now the AC is working fine.
I received horrible service today from the technician, Michael, from Stans Heating. The technician ran one test then pointed out I had an issue and issued a cost for the fix. He then advised that I had a leak and there would be an additional cost to find it and then a cost for fixing it. He provided no recommendation and asked what I wanted to do. I thanked him for his time and paid the cost for the visit, then hired another company for a second opinion. This other company went over the top and found the actual issue to the problem in my attic next to the system where the Stan’s technician did not check. I would not use or recommend Stans Heating. Thanks.
The A/C would not cool when turned on in the afternoon of March 8th. The compressor was turning and fan running but no cold air coming from vents. After turning off the system and letting it sit for a while I would try again with the same result. I called for service and Jessie came out at 11:ooam the next morning. When he tried the unit it worked fine - much to my amazement. He spent some time checking and rechecking the entire system and found it to be running smoothly. We agreed that the problem the previous afternoon was just a fluke and had no reasoning. Service was much appreciated.
Jeremy came to our home to repair our leaking AC. He identified and fixed the problem within 5 minutes; he also showed my husband how to prevent it in the future. We are so grateful for his affordable and professional help. We will be not be sleeping in 90 degree heat tonight, thanks to Jeremy!
They were really helpful in the phone, but when the tech came out he unplugged our unit in 90 degree weather to defrost and said he would be back to fix it this evening. He took our service charge payment and never came back. Called and the lady on the phone just took our info, but never heard back. Its hot and my puppies are panting like crazy. I would not recommend this company. Now I have to probably pay someone else ro come out and actually fix it. Grrr
AC went down over the weekend. Stans was able to fit me in first thing. After an initial communication issue with the office, Stans dispatch worked with management to help secure someone to come in the same day to address the problem. Price came in and did a fantastic job diagnosing the problem and fix it even though he was not the tech that came in earlier in the day. I will work with Stans again
We had Stans install a new heat pump system in April 2021. Service call 1 - In July they had to come out and make an adjustment for high humidity levels in the house.Service call 2 - Early March the outside unit froze over when the outside temp was only 30F.Service call 3 - June 24, 2022 not cooling, low freon.Service call 4 - June 27, still not cooling. Tech did not have leak detection equipment.Service call 5 - June 29, tech found leak in evaporator coils inside unit.Because the unit is 2 months past the one year labor warranty they charged the service fee plus the detection fee $251.16. Stated that the coils would be warranted by the manufacturer but they would have to charge for the labor to install them. I disagreed with them and emailed and talked to the phone bank to let them know that they should cover the cost since this was a new unit. I never got a reply from them. Stans finally called back today 7/6/22 to schedule my warranty coil replacement at no charge. I told them not to bother, I have already scheduled the coil replacement with another company. I will not be using Stans for any service or products in the future.
This is a terrible company! They have poor customer service and they charged me $775 for job they didnt do. I called for a refund so that I could fix the AC and now we are at a week after and still no refund! I called and asked for the manager and was told to wait or they could give me a call back. This was Monday and now its Friday and no call back. I called today which is Friday because they said the refund would be in my account today and nothing. I called again and asked for a manager and they said they would call me back and I said no, I would wait for a manager to answer the call but was then sent to a voicemail. Now they say refund wont be in my account till Monday or Tuesday. I had to stay with my sister so that we wouldnt have to be in the heat and had to ask a family member for a loan to be able to get someone to fix the AC. Dont call this company!
Chris came over last night to repair a leak coming from our air conditioner. It was leaking from the ceiling and dripping on the pool table. He took about 10 minutes to find the problem and fixed it right then. He was very polite and easy to talk to. Thanks so much Stans.
Alex notified me when he was on his way, in addition to a phone call I received from the dispatcher. This was very helpful, since I was trying to decide whether to leave to run errands. Alex was professional, prompt, and explained what he was doing and what he found. He checked the system, found a minor issue, explained the problem, quoted the price for fixing it, and then asked if I wanted to get it repaired. The problem was taken care of, and the entire encounter was polite, professional, and efficient.
Upon calling, I was met with an incredibly friendly rep at Stans. She was happy to assist with my request. She told me her first availability was in the afternoon and I told her that we could not wait as our house was already at 90 degrees from the AC going out. She made a call to dispatch and had them prioritize coming to our house first thing. I made sure to mention that we have a home warranty company that everything would need to be handled through and she said it was not an issue, just to let the technician know what I needed to send in. The technician arrived around 10:00 am and within 20 minutes of diagnostic was able to get the AC working again. I asked him what the issue was and he said he had to manually start the fan blade and once it was started, it began cooling the house. The technician told me they do not work with home warranty companies and I would be reponsible to handling the service fee directly with the home warranty company. Well here we are an hour later and the AC is not working again due to the same issue. I am not out almost $100 for a bandaid solution that worked for about an hour and with a company that will not work with my home warranty. I wish the rep would have advised me of this when I first made the phone call and the technician had not made a bandaid solution that only lasted an hour but instead would have made an accurate diagnostic of what the real issue was. Looks like I will be having a technician from a DIFFERENT company come back out to diagnose the problem. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because everyone was very friendly and eager to assist.
I had smelled gas that was very strong after the heater had stopped. The smell continued for some time (a few days). Then I started to get headaches for no reason, and the gas smell remained. So I switched to the Air Conditioner and opened the doors to the house to air out the house. Then the smell went away.This was done late at night around midnight. Then in the morning the gas smell was still there. So I called Stan A/C to have someone come out and check it.Jesse Crawford arrived and was informed of the problem. He checked the heater in the attic and checked around the house outside and inside for readings of carbon dioxide. He only got a reading of three outside and less than that inside the house. The heater was turned on and later after it stopped another reading was taken and reading kept coming down. Then he went upstairs again and checked all of the pipes and the heater for any leaks again and found zero emissions of gas.I was happy to learn that the heater was not the problem in the house. However, he did recommend that if gas was detected again, to call Stan A/C for a plumber to do a pressure test on the gas lines. I am satisfied and the immediate attention that was given to my problem and would highly recommend the company to others. I have been using Stan A/C since I bought the home back in 2010. I figured that Stan A/C put all of the heater, A/C etc in the home they would be the right company to maintain the systems here. Thanks again.
Our central air stopped cooling over the weekend.I called all around town and struggled to get someone willing to come out.Stan’s was able to come out the next morning and send their HVAC technician, Marshall.Marshall diagnosed our system and found a few issues that combined to give us the problems and fixed them all. I really can’t say enough, Marshall was professional, courteous and honest.I couldn’t ask for more.Thank you!

2022-05-27Extremely impressed with Abraham and his assistant. They were both very knowledgeable and fixed our ac issue quickly. Abraham took the time to explain exactly what they did and also suggested recommended routine maintenance on both ac units. Extremely pleased and would highly recommend both of these techs as well as Stans Heating and Air Conditioning. We will keep them in mind for all of our ac needs in moving forward. Thank you very much! (I was also very impressed how Stans got somebody out to repair our ac unit so very quickly!) Office staff was excellent as well. 2022-06-01Stans replaced our A/C system. They explained the work that is needed and what was done. They arrived early on the day of installation and cleaned up nicely. Stans did not pressure us on a high end system. They provided us with options and explained each. They were thorough and professional. Im glad we chose them after getting estimates from several others. I recommend Stans highly.

2022-03-31I called Stans to get an AC unit fixed and serviced. A competitor told me the unit would have to be replaced, but I strongly suspected it was just a wiring issue. Sure enough, Michael Waters, my tech, fixed a lose wire and assured me I didnt need a new AC unit. Honesty and good work are important to me. I got it from Stans. Id strongly suggest asking for Michael Waters as your technician. Hes prompt, smart, kind, and honest. He was nice to my wife too. Overall the best experience with an AC tech ever.

2022-06-10Johnny, Julian and Collin did a terrific job with the plumbing on our house. Installed new PEX pipe and replaced our 75yo cast iron pipe/sewer lines. Also did a new tankless water heater which works great, big upgrade. Workmanship and quality were excellent!

Abraham was the technician who came this time for our annual a/c systems maintenance. He was on time, courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions in a manner we could easily understand. It is no wonder that with this type of service that we continue to be Gold Service Club members and recommend Stans whenever possible. We look forward to seeing Abraham again.

2022-08-14Excellent service. Andrew was prompt and thorough when troubleshooting our A/C issue. He found the problem quickly and fixed it and went above and beyond in mending an issue with a filter. Andrew was respectful and nice when explaining the problem. All of this was very much appreciated and more than anything I found him to be very trustworthy. Andrew had our A/C working quickly. 2022-04-07So Ive been using Stans for many years now, from installing a new big heat-pump, to simple maintenance, but this is my first review. It is overdue. Stans is the model that other service companies should follow. They always communicate. They always come when they say they are going to. They always do great work when they are here. They are always friendly and professional. I know Ive used a lot of always. Thats because they are ALWAYS great!

2022-07-11I had Stans do the maintenance and service of my system in May and June, on the house I bought in January. About 2 weeks later, I decided to go ahead and replace the AC system and redo the ducts which were nowhere near big enough to circulate enough air through the square footage. Within 4 days including a weekend, Stans guys were back at 8am, polite, professional, and friendly.... I left my dog in the bathroom and I decamped to a Starbucks for a couple hours. By 2pm the system was replaced and all the old ducts and the old AC were removed and tucked into the Stans truck. New programmable thermostat set up and my house was comfortably cool. New whole house filtration system too! Much more efficient now, and with the bigger ducts, Ill never have to replace those again. Im setting myself up for future affordability where at worst I only have to replace the AC unit every 15 years or so. Plus the financing, for 0% over 3 years, made it very easy for me to afford this process and thank you Landon for your patience in figuring out the freeze Id placed on my credit report. Ive been using Stans for many years with 3 houses and counting, and Im always happy with their efficiency, low cost and professional installation.

2022-08-04Thank you. We came home to learn about a leak that had water flowing down the street in front of our house. We called the city of Austin who came out promptly to check it out. After learning that it was our responsibility to have the leak fixed, we called Stans AC & Plumbing the following morning. Stans had installed our AC system a year or so ago and we were happy with the service. We were equally happy with the work that Stans and Colin in particular, provided today. We were told someone would come out between 11-3 and that wed get a call 30 minutes before the technician would arrive. Within an hour of making my initial call, I received a call from Colin who arrived within 30 minutes. He was prompt and professional and explained everything before starting his work and explained what he did once work was completed. We are happy to have had this work done so quickly so we could resume using our water again.

2022-08-04Called Stan’s on Saturday about AC blower motor not working. Price the technician came out before the end of the day to diagnose and said, yes it was a bad motor. It was literally shaking the whole house before it completely died in 100+ degree heat. Actually one of the mounting bracket welds broke. He had the part ordered and it was delivered to my home before 2pm on Tuesday.Marshall the repair technician showed up shortly thereafter to install the new motor. Took less than 30 minutes. But said that the blower fan was also in bad shape probably because of the loose motor and recommend to not run the AC until the fan was replaced.Will call as soon as received to schedule install. Marshall was professional and knowledgeable and said that he usually recommends both motor and blower be replaced together when one goes out.We’ve been using Stan’s for 17 years and they have always been responsive and courteous. I would highly recommend them.UPDATE: Thursday, the new fan wheel arrived before noon and Abraham showed up within a few minutes. Installed it in about 30 minutes and now the AC works like a charm.Thanks Stan’s you guys are AWESOME !!
