Summit Climbing, Yoga and Fitness in other cities:
Was looking forward to climbing (usually go to plano) and working out in FW! Sadly was met with a dirty gym. The upstairs floor and yoga mats were dirty. I had dust all over my clothes. The treadmills are not clean, dust underneath equipment. The weight rack was dusty. It’s such a tiny area too...needs a deep clean! Not a pleasant workout experience
This is a bouldering only rock climbing gym. There is no top rope climbing. However, the frequency of routes being changed and shear number of routes keeps it fresh. All climbing comes with free workout and yoga classes as well. Everyone here is super supportive too, you could not ask for a better staff of folks. You can make the same claim for the patrons. This is truly a great community.
Summit Fort Worth is my all time favourite climbing gym. The employees are incredibly friendly and knowledgable, the problems are always a blast and are changed often enough that you always have something new to work on and the community is just so helpful and welcoming.Adam (who Im assuming is the manager) helped me get set up with gear once I was ready to get my own and made sure I had what was right for me. Their gear packages are a really good value as well and come with a month of climbing. If youre just renting gear, they include chalk which is something I havent seen at any other climbing gym so far.I havent had the chance to go to any of their special events yet but I hear they are a blast. Recently they had a late night climb with a slack line set up which Ive seen more than once and they have an upcoming class on route setting.Overall, I couldnt recommend this gym enough. Whether youre someone whos never attempted to climb or have been for years, theres something for you there along with a community of people who are excited to help and will cheer you on.
First time at the gym today and I was very impressed. Staff is super nice and laid back, but caring. Everything was very clean and nothing was over chalked. Met some random people and we did a little hard line contest. Great music, staff and like minded people. Only thing I could suggest is installing a shower in the men’s locker room. We will be back for sure! 👍🏻
The staff are very friendly, professional, and accommodating! Johhny B was our go-to guy, he made our visit memorable and exciting! The gym itself is gorgeous! There are 6 wall faces to climb, with tons of challenging and demanding routes. There is no top rope, no need for a harness! This is a great gym for beginners or experienced climbers alike.
Very good for beginner and advanced climbers. Everything seems well maintained and the staff is friendly. Even on what they said was their busiest night it was still easy to find something to climb. They hold free classes of various things throughout most days and if you go on Tuesday its only $10 each for two people. Also, bouldering only, no harnesses or belaying.
Fun, friendly, & helpful staff. Incredible team of route-setters. They keep the routes fresh & update the entire gym over the course of something like 5 weeks. Fitness area is barebones, but plenty. Yoga instructors are fun & it’s not intimidating for people that don’t know what they’re doing (me).
I love the Fort Worth gym, but unfortunately its quite the trek so I dont get to go out as much as I might like. I find that the FW gym never gets that busy that you feel claustrophobic on the wall. Since this gym is all boulders, its nice to feel like youre not too crowded when coming down. While I am not the biggest fan of bouldering (Ill stick to ropes), I still appreciate this gym for everything it has to offer. Always friendly staff and always a good time.
Seven year old son has been a member here for months. No one remembers us, we’ve been hassled at check in virtually every time we show up. Aloof and aspy staff act like their protecting a bank vault, not a climbing gym. 10 minute wait while they research whether or not we should be there.
Summit Fort Worth is probably the best gym for bouldering out of the DFW summit gyms (it’s a close match to Plano). There’s LOTS of bouldering here. That’s actually the ONLY climbing they have here. There are no ropes at all. I personally prefer top rope climbing so I prefer to go to other summit locations. Each of the summit gyms has strengths and weaknesses. Fort Worth is a great location (for me) but it doesn’t have ropes which makes me sad. If you prefer bouldering then you’ll be happy here. I gave this 4 stars in comparison to Plano, which is the best gym.Summit as a whole is a good gym. I have been a member for nearly a year and I haven’t had any problems with them. Membership is pretty expensive but if you climb often enough it’s worth it.
Bouldering only. However, they change the routes consistently enough that you need something new its always there, but if youre having trouble with a problem you also have have time to work on it. Staff is super friendly and so are the other patrons. Also has lifting/training equipment upstairs and a circuit room. All around great place to spend time. Expect to walk from your parking spot, but youre going to do physical activity so its really not worth complaining about.
The manager, Adam was awful! Did everything he could to embarrass my family. We have a membership for my family of 4 and after last night I am considering cancelling and climbing elsewhere. The climbing itself it very fun and great for the family just sad that employees are harassing the paying customers. Even my young kids said they felt uncomfortable going back if he is going to be there. After reading some of the other comments on here, clearly this is not an isolated incident.
Staff here is so friendly and helpful even to climbers who are only just beginning. Their upbeat and fun interaction with customers makes this a really cool and comfortable place to go! Be sure to take advantage of their TRX class, which is included in the day pass, and is SUCH a great workout.
The staff is awesome, the gym itself is so clean and entertaining. I would have given it five stars, but the parking isnt great. There are only 12-13 legal parking spots for the gym. Ive gone to climb on two separate occasions and there is no parking at all, except two blocks away. Im pretty small, and have anxiety about walking by myself. It sucks when my boyfriend is at work and I cant climb because theres no close parking at night. Other than that, summit is amazing!!
Summit is a great gym to experience. Its all bouldering, but they also have yoga and fitness sessions available for members. If you go on Tuesdays after six you and another can get in for $10 each to climb. There is a good community of climbers there who are willing to help you out if you are new. A nice place to be! Parking is the only iffy bit about it.
At the beginning of this year, I wasnt even aware Bouldering was a thing - And now I consider my time at Summit to be one of my top pastimes here in Fort Worth. Staff here is excellent, with a particular shout out to Michael - his welcoming attitude and attention to detail make me and my fiancée feel like were in good hands every time we walk through the doors.Theres no reason to wait any longer if you havent already checked this place out.
I went in to buy a pair of shoes and Michael was so kind and helpful. I’m a beginner, so he took a ton of time explaining things to me and helping me find the perfect fit. My husband and I plan to get memberships since we had such a great experience- the staff was so nice and not intimidating at all. Looking forward to going back!
The guys at Summit Climbing Gym (Fort Worth) are top notch. They run a tight ship and are on top of their game in fitness in general. Ive spoken with Adam, a mgr there numerous times and you can tell hes a master of his craft. No matter your skill level, the staff will get you where you want to be. Do yourself a favor and check them out.
Excellent place to climb! Staff is super firendly and helpful. I needed split sizing in climbing shoes and they made an extra effort to help me try on different sizes in the gym even though I would have to buy them online and not from Summit. Shout out to Paul for the extra help. Thanks!
My husband, son and I were visiting family and wanted to introduce them to the sport. Unfortunately for us, when we showed up to climb we were turned away because they don’t allow climbers under age 6 and we weren’t going to climb and have the little ones, 3 and 4, just watch. There was NO information of this listed anywhere on their website. It seems all of the locations have different rules and ways that the gyms are run, but the website doesn’t share this and lumps all the gyms together as one.
Upbeat, fun, and clean environment. Every staff member is super helpful and climbs at a high level and will comfortably dispense climbing help if inquired. This is a very cool and special place. Lastly, we canceled our Y membership and joined here because it also lends itself to a fun and easy way for the fam bam to kick it. 5 STARS IN MY BOOK!!!
Excellent bouldering gym for first time or experienced climbers. BOULDERING = no ropes. Routes are changed weekly so there always something new. Yoga is included with the day pass.PARKING!This is a big issue here they have additional parking in Farrington field. Go behind the gym on Bledsoe st and turn right onto Foch st. Foch will take you under the bridge where the parking lot gate will be open on the right. 3rd row is considered part of summit parking.
If it werent for the manager, Id probably give it 4 stars, or maybe 5 if the price was better. He was extremely bossy with employees and rude to paying customers. His very vocal beratement made the whole experience something Id rather forget. Fort Worth has so many better entertainment values for the money. I wont be back.

2022-08-16Honestly really great. Staff are all helpful and nice. Fantastic bouldering walls. Well kept gym overall. Short but informative orientation you have to take on your first visit. They tell you what you need to know and let you start climbing fast.

2022-07-02Great vibes. Staff is friendly and helpful, excellent range of routes for all skill levels, and patrons are generally friendly as well. Some of the regulars are happy to lend advice or just chat on the features/techniques for particular routes if asked. One note for veterans - this is a bouldering gym so if you’re looking for rope routes the Grapevine location is a better fit.

2022-09-07Sick gym. Great beats always spinning. Great people. Excellent routes. Day passes and rentals if you need em. Membership is well worth it because they have a weightroom too, not to mention full access to all the other summit locations. Bouldering only here so if youre afraid of heights you can start workin that out here. It is a lil gym and it is bouldering only so its mostly chillen. Anyway. Go climb.

2021-07-27Friendly and knowledgeable staff, fun climbing environment.Update: Ive been climbing here 2-3x a week for almost a month now, and my initial 5 star review still stands. It would be 10 if I could give it. The community is awesome, I cant count the number of times Ive gotten tips from other climbers that have drastically improved my climbing. The staff are always friendly and willing to help out. Id recommend Summit to anyone who even sort of thinks theyd enjoy climbing.

2022-09-12Has all sorts of Bouldering and has a top out wall. Its a good mix of overhang and slab setting. The workout area upstairs is geared almost entirely towards making you stronger at climbing.

2020-10-22This place is fantastic! I travel for work and have visited many different gyms around the country, the setting here is some of the best I’ve sampled. The moves are thoughtful and well placed rather than the “be stronger or jump further” you find at some gyms. I found myself flowing through the easier grades and really enjoying working for those higher ones. Thanks for a great gym!

2020-12-15Im not much of a boulderer. Im more of a top-rope kind of girl, but the atmosphere here is awesome. The staff are extremely friendly and I love that they have a workout gym upstairs and a yoga studio on the main floor!

2019-08-05Huge & best Bouldering!!!! Park across the street for free parking, super easy! Biggest bouldering gym ever, its the biggest of the summit gyms and the routes are technical and there is the most variety of them here at this gym. Ive been climbing for 5 months consistently and I can climb most reds here! Other gyms have harder routes and not that much variety in routes. The staff here is awesome and the boss is super cool, providing a super cool and happy staff and happy and clean gym! No top roping!
