These guys are the BEST! My first visit they worked on some warning/engine light issues and basically fixed the cruise control problem at no charge! This time they had to rebuild my front differential and did some brake work and general inspection and repair and it was done quickly, thoroughly and at a very fair cost! Dan kept me apprised through every step. I highly recommend Foundation!!
The team and the work out of Foundation Auto repair is the best Ive experienced in years. I went in with a laundry list of alleged repairs my a dealership, and Shannon worked with me to identify real issues that needed to be fixed and in order of urgency. The cost for repairs and labor is beyond reasonable and they deliver for the time they committed to. Ive found my forever mechanic, and they can be trusted with new and used vehicles. I’ve been using Foundation Auto Repair since I moved to Austin 8 years ago. I knew for sure they were a trustworthy shop when I took my car in to get new brakes and Dan told me I didn’t need them. When I asked him to go ahead and do it anyway, he refused! I don’t know if there are many shops out there that would do this, but that one interaction spoke volumes for me. When my car did start having bigger problems Foundation was the first and only place I went. They totally had my trust!Now that I have a newer car I still prefer to use Foundation for anything my car needs. Recently I needed an oil change. They now offer a pickup and drop off service so I chose to use that. It was convenient and so quick. From the time the guys picked up my vehicle and completed the service that took a total of two hours! So impressive! Without question this will continue to be my go-to shop for any attention my vehicle will need in the future! Thanks Dan and crew!

The best customer service you can get. The quality of their work is remarkable. As a customer you can really see the values they profess in practice.I brought my SUV to check on the brakes and engine power, the car was not performing well. The car came out feeling as new. It is hard to find a place you can trust and Foundation has really gained my trust.I visit again on February 3rd and I just want to underscore the integrity in which they conduct business, we are all looking for a long term solution to our maintenance and repair needs, that give us peace of mind and somebody we can trust, Foundation just did it again, they are honest and professional in all the length of the word. Working in my car they found some difficulties and were able to figure it out and resolve the issue, they kept me in the loop and gave me updates on how the oil change was going. They took responsibility of the unusual delay ( acceptable time but they have very high standards) in completing the job and at the end they absorbed the cost. I highly recommend this business.

I got a tune up on my 2010 vehicle.The price ended up being lower than what was quoted initially, which was great!The place as a whole has a nice atmosphere.They are nice people who dont mind me sitting and waiting inside for my vehicle, even if it takes a few hours.

When my husband brought his car in for a battery issue that needed to be taken care of right away. The crew was able to fix it quickly right there on the spot, no wait at all, and wasnt costly like we thought it would be. Inspection service was performed. I have used Foundation auto repair for 8 to 10 years with various levels of difficulty. Our truck died at the convenience store a few evenings ago - thankfully, next door to Foundation Auto Repair. Immediately, a Foundation employee came to assist. He first tried jumping the battery which did not work. Then he proceeded to crawl under the truck in the parking lot and inspect. He found the starter was bad, tried a few tricks for quick repair but no luck. The next morning, truck still immobile at the convenience store, Foundation took over. They got the truck into their shop, parts ordered and full repair on starter replacement and sent us home same day with a fully functioning truck. Professional, prompt and clearly above and beyond expectations. Thanks Foundation Auto team!
I have used Foundation Auto Repair a few times already. Each time, they have been very honest, kind and knowledgeable. I will continue to use this place to service my Mazda. My friend recommended this place instead of the dealer. I am always weary of getting taken advantage of when my car needs service - but Foundation took care of my problem and did not give me the runaround or suggest I needed to spend a ridiculous amount of money on anything I didnt need. Its nice to know there is somewhere in my neighborhood that I can trust to take my vehicle when I have any issues.
Ive used this shop since before its current owner was there. It was good before and even better under the current owner. Having a mechanic shop that you can trust is calming during the stress of car repairs. It is nice to have all my car maintenance and repair history in a single place as well. If you are looking for a shop you can trust and depend on, this is an amazing shop to use.
Sun auto quoted me a pretty high price for a wheel hub assembly replacement, which was already a little unreasonable for the job. After I got off the phone with them, they then raised the total by 37% (several hundred dollars) and then falsely marked that i authorized said total on the invoice - just 21 minutes after I authorized the original estimate over the phone. Im flabbergasted. Their own invoice they printed shows that they raised the total precisely 21 minutes later, and claims to have my authorization for the increase. I never gave any authorization, because I was never called about it.Fast forward to yesterday, they call me up and give me the total with the extra 37%. They couldnt give me an answer for why it increased so much when I asked, and then lowered the price down to the original estimate.How many other women do they try to trick like this? Makes you wonder.
Foundation has been taking care of our vehicles for years. You will not find a better auto repair facility of the highest integrity anywhere. Their prices are competitive and their work impeccable. I live close enough to Foundation to walk there. And I have in past dropped my car off for work to be done and walked back and to. This time I dropped a tire off to be repaired or replaced. It wound up needing to be replaced. Commmunication w/ Daniel was great and I was kept well informed. Many of my neighbors use Foundation and everyone I spoke with speaks highly of their services. I highly recommend them.

My car is a 2011 Toyota Camry Hybrid, it had 130,000 miles on it. A friend told me Foundation technicians were straight shooters and did quality work. I made an appointment took the car in and had several maintenance requirements to do. Foundation told me all the work, back brakes, fuel system, transmission system, tune up and systems recalibration would cost $779. It took the afternoon and two hours of the next morning, but everything was done and the total cost was $781. I will taking my car to Foundation in the future and I thanked my friend!

You can often learn more about the true colors of a business when things dont go exactly right than when they do. Long story short, I have used Foundation Auto Repair several times over the last few years for large jobs and small. Every time has been a good experience. Today however, I got bent out of shape when I thought there was an error in quoting the job that was going to cost me a couple hundred dollars more than I could have paid. Regardless of whose fault it was (probably mine), Shannon handled it like a pro and made it right with me. I value a business that values their customers, and I will continue to use FAR and recommend them.
Have taken multiple vehicles to Foundation Auto Repair multiple instances over the years, so Ive been able to interact with them quite a bit. As such, I know that this business is very professional and usually very punctual with their communication -- all the while delivering quality work. My only wish is that it didnt cost me *quite* as much to get certain work done or that they were open 24/7, but those things are a bit unreasonable to ask :-)

I brought them a used vehicle that I bought and it had many unknown problems. Shannon and Daniel up front were incredibly polite and helped me sort out the stress of fixing this vehicle. However as we fixed one thing a couple days later another problem would pop up. Every time I came back they treated me like I was their number one concern and were very timely on getting me back on the road. The prices were more than fair, the staff is incredible and my vehicle runs great. I don’t post a lot of reviews however in this case they need to be recognized. I’ll be recommending everyone I know to go here!
A few weeks ago I took my car into a Honda dealership for some warranty work and of course they said I needed a bunch of filters replaced, as well as my A/C system recharged and my brake fluid replaced.My general rule of thumb is to always decline and then consult my cars service manual and just follow the recommend maintenance schedule.It recommended the brake fluid flush every 3 years, and Honda had quoted me $200, so I called Foundation Auto who came in nearly 30% cheaper.Due to the pandemic, Foundation came and picked up my car from my apartment complex, and then took my payment over the phone and dropped it off. The turn around time was just over 24 hours.
I have been going to Foundation Auto for years and I don’t have one negative thing to say about them. They have always repaired my car expertly and on time. The most important thing about them is that they are honest and hardworking. They had recently done some work on the right rear bearing and in the process the technician damaged the ABS sensor. They called me and said that it was their fault and responsibility and then they repaired and they replaced it with a new sensor and didn’t charge me a penny. As a single woman I’ve never experienced such an honest repair shop! I highly recommend the owner Dan, and his staff Duncan, Thad and Daniel and the rest of his fantastic staff. You will be extremely happy with them!
I had a very good experience having my valuable 1994 Firebird Formula vehicle serviced at Foundation Auto Repair. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and performed a high quality repair on my vehicle. I trust the service managers to perform the required repair at a good value.
Will recommend to everyone! Best price of anyone in the area and top notch customer service and timely repairs. They also Guarantee EVERYTHING they do for 30,000 miles or 3 years. Had to get my wheel bearings replaced twice (one was faulty, it happens, nbd not on them) and no questions asked, took it right back and replaced it on the house, got my car back the next morning. Couldn’t ask for a better place, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Foundation Auto is a highly reliable local mechanic shop I would strongly recommend with my experience over 3 years with taking my car to them. The trust I feel after I leave my car with Foundation Auto is always great. Jeff and Dan are just wonderful, and I never got a suggestion to fix something imaginary and redundant for my car. The staff is skilled and know what is just needed to fix the issue, and nothing more to make repairs expensive as many others do in the market, including the dealer shops.
Finally found a mechanic I feel that I can trust! Over the years I have had many bad experiences at other shops but was very impressed with the professionalism of this one from day one. The first time I was at the shop I witnessed one of their employees willingness to show and explain a customers problem her. I appreciate the honesty, openess and professionalism of this shop and will continue bringing my car back and recommending them to others.
Foundation Auto Repair is very near my home and has, twice now, gone above and beyond, to help with crippling repairs. Both times were electrical-related and they made it seamless and affordable. Id highly recommend at least getting a quote from them on your future auto repairs to compare cost. They were $300 less than another place Ive used in the past.
I have been taking my cars to Foundation Auto Repair for 5 years. They have always explained things to me so that i can understand. They are patient and polite about scheduling repairs and maintenance. They are great about reminding me that oil change and check up might be needed soon. When they say my car will be ready by certain time--it is. They call me and let me know if they find something that needs attention that i have not noticed. In other words, I recommend them highly.
We have been extremely happy with the work that Dan and his crew have performed for us since they opened up their first shop in northwest Austin.We have had experiences with automotive chains where we would bring a car in for some work, even something simple like an oil change, and within a day of getting the car back, a new problem would pop up like the battery is drained. I get that this happens, but I find it troubling when the receipt says BATTERY: GOOD. Worse is when I talk to the chain shop, they say that it is against the policy of the company to check batteries. What?? Then why is it printed on the receipt??I get we are all human and mistakes happen -- thats part of life. How you respond to those mistakes makes a HUGE difference to me. I can probably count on one hand with fingers left over where the outcome of Foundations work had unexpected results. How have they responded? Usually if it is clear that there is a risk of problems popping up while performing the work, they say it up front. I can think of one case where they removed a part and accidentally damaged another nearby part in the process -- they owned up to it and replaced it for FREE without me finding out about it while driving on the road. This happened **once** in at least 10 years of taking our cars to Foundation -- I think that is a fantastic track record. More importantly -- how they responded to the error shows me that the trust Ive put in Dan and his crew for the safety and well-being of my family is well earned. If you are looking for a new mechanic, I strongly recommend and endorse Foundation Auto Repair!

What can I say, they do great work and they charge me reasonable prices for it. I always do price checks on parts and Foundation charges me the same amount as it would cost me to buy them myself. No up charge, ever. As long as Im in Austin, theyre who I recommend you take your car to.
I have been taking our autos to Foundation Auto Repair - Dan Murphy for at least the last 12 years. You wont find a better, more ethical and just great auto repair center to work with. Dan and his staff of mechanics are simply the best in the business in my opinion.
The people here are soooooo incredibly nice and considerate.I hit something on the road which tore up the thin metal covering of my engine under my car. By the time I was calm, I looked up this places number, as it happened to be nearby, and called them to see if they could take a look at my car and assess any damage. When I called it was one minute before closing and they said it was fine to stop by and they would keep the garage open for me until I could make it there.Thankfully my car didnt have much damage and they were easily able to remove the engine covering under my car that had been shredded. Regardless, they still pulled it in and did a full check of the car for me to make sure everything was okay.They went above and beyond and I could not thank them enough, especially since they stayed beyond regular hours to help me.I am going to recommend everyone I know to visit here for any car needs they can help with and I will definitely be going back for more regular needs like oil changes and the like.I just can not stress enough how nice and considerate they were.

Took my 03 corolla CE in for an oil change, came back, courteous workers, well mannered, and they musta done somethin cause karliah the corolla just keeps on kickin. During shelter in place they were able to come to my house and pick up my car. As they worked on my car they stayed in contact with me and gave me updates during the day. When it was done they returned my car to my house. I didnt have to go anywhere. They handled everything. Very easy and professional.

I had a minor but huge safety issue with my car making it so the brake lights wouldnt turn off even if the keys were out. Turns out its a disc that fits on the brake pedal that broke. Went to Suns Automotive and they helped me fix it but the part was really hard to find. I ended up driving to Round Rock to get it. They were able to fix it same day even though they were extremely busy.
Great service, knowledgeable about VolvoI have been trying to find a good auto repair shop for my Volvo XC 90. The maintenance schedule showed i was due to change the timing belt at 155k miles, but Randy searched info on the vehicle and let me know that since it was a chain, it should last the life of the vehicle.I also asked them to check the brake pads and was told they were fine and didnt need changed. They could have easily sold me brake work and changing my timing belt and I wouldnt have known the difference.Really appreciate the honesty, the shop is very clean, and the people are knowledgeable with great customer service. Foundation Auto has won my future business!
Getting in to get the oil change is a struggle especially with this whole COVID crisis happening. I had such a great experience with Foundation recently. I was working and called to set up an oil change with some extras and the offer was extended to have someone pick my car up from my job and drop it off later that evening. Everything went smoothly and I had my car back just in time for me to leave work. Talk about going above and beyond. I have relied on Foundation for 7 years now and plan on using them in the foreseeable future. Thank you for what yall are doing!!!!

This was my first experience with Foundation and I could not have been more impressed! I was actually bringing a friend there who was having her car fixed. There were some issues that delayed the car being ready (NO fault of Foundations). Daniel went above and beyond to help us work through some details, even staying after closing on a Friday evening to make sure my friend could take the car home that evening. Daniel demonstrated incredible care and commitment to customer service. I wouldnt hesitate to bring my own vehicle there in the future or recommend Foundation Auto to others. Ive been taking my 04 Toyota Sequoia and 05 BMW to Foundation for years and they are always fair and truthful about needed repairs and solution options. Ive never once had to return for something that needed to be re-done or anything they missed. They have my highest recommendation!
I had bought a lemon of a car and took it in to get it assessed. Daniel had every opportunity to take advantage of the fact that I was prepared to make as many repairs as needed, but took the time to break down which repairs were critical and which could wait, even items that on the surface seemed critical. At no point did he pressure me to me to get more than what was strictly necessary to get the car operating. With the repair work the car runs beautifully now, he really did fix what was ailing it.Such honesty is incredibly rare in this industry, and for that Foundation has my business for life. Great group of people working here.
I went in for an oil change. i hadnt been driving much, but the oil was 6 months old, and i thought i probably needed changing.They told me i really didnt need to. But they would check all the fluids and tires: the things they do normally when they do oil changes. they refused my offer to pay. Ive been going to foundation for years. this is why.
Took the car in for some work recently. I did have to leave the car overnight but they did a thorough job and I am really happy with the results. Car is running smooth after a really long time.
Dan and Jeff at Foundation know how to run a tight shop. I googled local auto repair shops in Austin because I dont always trust the big names like Meineke, and I was not disappointed in what I found. They are just honest, down-to-earth guys who love working on cars and have extensive knowledge to back it up. They dont explain issues to you like youre a five year old trying to read Aristotle. They level with you on your knowledge of cars and explain things in a way that is neither too watered-down or too complicated. They also only address the issues that you brought your vehicle in for service for. If they noticed something else is wrong, they will mention it to you. But, they will not push you to get those issues serviced unless they think it is absolutely necessary to the point where you might die if you were to drive your car down the road 2 miles to Jack in the Box. In other words, they will not try to jack up your bill by attempting to service things you didnt ask them to service that you could either fix on your own time for much less or simply arent necessary to fix in order to use your car for your daily I-35 or 183 grind or where ever you like to spend time in traffic on. The same cant be said about other auto shops who may even service these issues behind your back leaving you completely unaware until you get a bill back that is five times what you were promised to begin with (see aforementioned chain store above). Foundation also hires people in the area who are down on their luck, but also ensures that these employees are trained to an exceptional level of service. In short, Foundation treats you like you are a human being with a brain between your ears, they have honesty, they have integrity, they love what they do, and theyre a great option to choose if you want to support an excellent local business in your area.
Foundation Auto Repair, The few, the proud, the honest mechanic, tip a good mechanic and if you find Foundation Auto Repair you have a good mechanic. I went here for 2 front struts,not only did they beat my previous quote by $300 they threw in the alignment for free as I though it should have been included with struts but understand most mechanics try to charge separate fro alignment, but also they fixed my electronic driver-side rear-view mirror probably a fuse or something. But I realized this on the way home. Just wow. Thats service. Just on faith I tip these guys. Inviting someone to keep your car is special. I mean you dont just invite people into your home that you dont trust and a car is probably the second most valuable thing you own. I have faith in Foundation Auto Repair. I know it sounds cheesy. But I wouldnt have sold some of my previous car had I know there are actually honest mechanics out there. Stay away from chain mechanic stores like, well you know, they are known to actual leave your car worse off. Foundation is the way to go. They are also busy which is a good sign.
I was referred to Foundation Auto Repair through a friend. I recently moved to Texas and was looking for a solid mechanic. These guys were clear in what the work in involved. I took two cars. Each one I thought might be bigger issues. Each time they found smaller issues and fixed the actual problem and I came out not paying as much. I have been going to Foundation Auto Repair for many years and I always receive great service. The staff is very friendly and they answer all of my questions. I trust them for my car repair and maintenance needs.
I will say that I loved the atmosphere, however, I was displeased with the actual service. I was there to take care of an electrical issue, and drove away with the same issues, and had my car alarm removed(per request), but not returned. Tires very underinflated when I left. While not required, it would have been nice to see them take the initiative to put air in the tires to make sure I drove away safe. Good people, but I wouldnt go back.

When we moved to NW Austin from Fort Worth, we dreaded finding a new mechanic/repair shop that we could trust. We didnt have to look far when we discovered Foundation. They have worked on our Toyota, our Mitsubishi, our Ford, and our Infinity. Daniel and Jeff are outstanding professionals who truly know their business. They have assisted my daughter and myself many times while my husband was out of town and even offered to show us how to perform some basic maintenance. Car repairs and costs are no fun, but at least we dont have the hassle of worrying if were being taken advantage of. They are fair, steady, reliable, and a pleasure to work with!
This is my go to mechanic, in Austin! When my car started to overheat, I took it in immediately. They found a faulty fan and, since I was already there, I had them look at my rear wheel bearings, because I heard a noise.The cost of each was entirely reasonable and they had me out, within the day.
Their customer service and work quality is top of the line! Thanks to them, our fairly old car is still running in a great condition! I highly recommend Foundation Auto Repair!!
They were very friendly and honest to tell my last sevice from aplace in round rock forgot to pull a gasket on my oil change. It was leaking oil. They even picked up my car at work and brought it back . They are practicing socially distancing,gloves and mask. They are great. I will be back.not very expensive and fast service 🤗

These guy are great! I took my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in for some transmission issues. I thought my Jeep was a goner for sure. To my surprise they quickly diagnosed the problem and got my vehicle back to me the next day, running like new. This is the only place I trust with my family vehicles if you are looking for honest professional mechanics you found them. Thanks
I brought in my vehicle for a diagnostics check to figure out all the problems wrong with the engine. I cant afford to fix everything all at once so I wanted to figure out the priority issues and get those fixed as soon as possible. A few hours later I was contacted back and told they couldnt go any further until I paid to replace two parts in the engine. The parts cost $140 but plus tax and labor he quoted me $380. Thats $240 for a job that I ended up doing myself in 30 minutes. Since I refused to pay for the parts he refused to continue the diagnostics check. So in the end I paid over $100 for them to look at my car for less than 30 minutes. The service rep (Randy) was very friendly but In the end the process was completely useless. I feel as if I got ripped off in a major way.I took my vehicle to this shop because of the stellar reviews I read here on Google. Specifically one about them going the extra mile to get to the bottom of the problems. I definitely dont agree that they did that for me though.
Foundation Auto got my state inspection and oil change done within 20 - 30 mins from drop off to drive off! I am satisfied with their quality of work.
Foundation Auto Repair was recommended to me by a neighbor about 10 years ago. They have been a great blessing to me & my whole family through the years. I grew up in Leander, TX back in the 1960s. There was one mechanic in town. He knew everybody & everybody knew him. Nobody ever had any second thoughts about taking their vehicle to him. His repairs were always guaranteed and done with the utmost integrity & honesty. If he found something else wrong, he would dial the phone (yes, the phones had round rotary dials on them) & talk to you about it before he did anything that would cost you money. Sometimes, things were hard to fix, but he always made sure it was fixed right. Foundation is just like that guy.
Dan is amazing! He cares for the people who come through and never fails to treat everyone with respect and kindness. Foundation Auto repair is a quality business that really goes the extra mile. We always bring our cars here for assessment and repair.
Brought my 2004 Ford Ranger in with an oil leak. Dropped it off in the evening and by 9:30am the next day they had it diagnosed. Very reasonable estimate. And then they really floored me when they said it would be repaired that day and they would call me towards the end of the day! (I did not even ask for such a quick turnaround).Sure enough, called just after 5pm and picked it up. Thanks to the Foundation repair team! Great job! Highly recommend this shop!
Absolutely Outstanding! From start to finish, they were great. I walked into a clean, stylish front office, met a polite representative, told him I needed my brakes checked, gave him my keys, and sat down in their comfortable waiting room with AC and WiFi. Whereas most places would tell you that everything (brake pads, rotors, etc) needed to be replaced in order to help their business, Foundation was honest (even though they knew I was from out-of-state) to tell me that I had lots of miles left on the brakes and they didnt need immediate replacement. And they checked them for FREE! It gave me real piece of mind on my next interstate drive. I just wish we had these guys in my hometown.
These guys are absolutely amazing. I went to the competition prior to visiting these guys and got quoted one thousand dollars more then what I paid at Foundation Auto Repair. The guys at the desk are some of the nicest guys I have met and Dan, the owner, is super friendly as well. These guys will be my go to guys from now on. I normally hate when people say they feel like family but for these guys I will say, they treated every customer that walked in as if they where family. Many people that walked in while I sat in the lobby where returning customers, the employees knew the guys names as well as vehicle from memory - even the ones who had not been in for months.

The ac on my chevy 1500HD would only blow out of the defrost vents. I stopped in about 3;30 pm and by 4:30 they diagnosed the problem and gave me a quote and said they would order the 2 parts needed. By about 10 am the next day it was ready. Great people to work with!

I have used Foundation Auto Repair exclusively for the last 18 months with most of the 20+ cars that I have obtained then given to people in crisis. Most cars needed some repair. FAR is always honest, accurate and timely.
Besides routine maintenance, Ive had front-end suspension work, rear axle work, and now A/C work done here. Great communication, quality work, close to home, pleasant attitudes. This is the kind of shop that earns your trust to keep your business.
I took my car to this place which only needed a new thermostat and two hoses. The price for the hoses are no more than $20 each, and no more than $10 for the thermostat ($50 approx.) Those pieces are easy to put together, and I was going to get charge $482. I refused the service, and they did not even try to negotiate to solve the problem. When I went to pick up the car they did not even say anything to me. It is a pity that they treat a client in this way, since not only do they lose a client, they lose more than one.
My wife and I have taken vehicles here several times and have always been treated professionally and with honesty. We will often mention what we think is the issue to them and they have many times come back with no issue there, turned out to be something simpler/cheaper. Refreshing!
Called very last minute but was still able to get my well overdue car serviced! They were so nice and friendly, and super conveniently located to my home! Im a new regular now!
Ive been taking my cars to Jeff here for years now and have had nothing but great stories to share. When my car was undrivable due to a rusty break line his team did a thorough investigation and gave me all my options. When I decided to replace the car they didnt charge a thing and let me store the car there until a tow truck could come and remove it.Theyre always incredibly honest about what work is needed to be done and wont try to upsell on unnecessary fluid changes or anything. I bring my car here for everything including inspections and oil changes. This is the way that all auto shops should be.Oh and their waiting room has comfortable couches and free WiFi.
Ive been taking our cars to Foundation since I moved to the Parmer/McNeil area of town in 2005. The staff has has always been straightforward and courteous to me, and the quality of work has always been great. Ive never felt like Ive been swindled or overcharged for anything. In fact, on more than one occasion, I was surprised that I still had spending money after having work done on my car!My only minor complaint would be that there are no weekend hours.
Try to make this short and sweet. Using them for 3.5 years and very happy. They are extremely trustworthy and will be transparent on when they think the work should be done. Theyve actually talked me out of doing something because they think it wasnt warranted at that time. It really speaks to their level of service and customer satisfaction. 10/10 I will continue to use them.
I have been looking for an honest place to take my SUV. As you know that can be hard to do. Dealerships are the worst. I have taken two cars to Foundation and they have done what they said they would do in a timely manner. Also didnt feel like my wallet was missing when I left. I hope I dont see them any time soon, but know its inevitable. At least I feel comfortable knowing where to go.

These guys are GREAT! Dealership said I needed thousands in repairs. (NEVER believe what a dealership or one of those box stores tries to convince you is needed!) I was terribly anxious about finding a shop where there are honest/trustworthy people. (Actually found these guys thanks to the NextDoor app.) Surprise: I needed only 2 things of the things on list the dealership gave me; and those two things were just about 1/2 of what I was told it would cost at the dealership. I found the customer service to be kind, considerate and very nice! . . . overall they made a pleasant experience out of something I was absolutely dreading! THANKS GUYS!!
Foundation has always taken good care of my car. However, I had to wait an extraordinary amount of time to pick up my car while the representative behind the desk argued over the phone about not agreeing to accept a shipped item that was broken upon receipt.

Brought my car in for an electrical issue. I was having a hard time getting a hold of my warranty information but just needed my car fixed. They went above and beyond not only running tests to find the problem but helping me make phone calls to the dealership to get my warranty info. It made my day having someone care for my small problems in such a meaningful way.
I initially took my vehicle here at the recommendation of a friend. I took it to them three times over the course of a month. The third time was because the engine was knocking after the 2nd repairs they did. They initially insisted nothing was wrong but when I pressed the issue, they said they would test drive it again. The next call I got from them is that the vehicle stopped during their test drive and that now I need a $7000 new engine. No compassion, no admission of culpability for destroying a fairly new vehicle. I am still reeling from this experience and now have no transportation as a result.
The staff was friendly and kept me up to date on the status of the repairs. They were able to locate the problem on my car that another service station was unable to diagnose.
Cannot say enough good things about Dan and his team. Always friendly and helpful. They are honest and effective. I have had things I thought were going to cost a fortune come out to almost nothing. His guys have plugged a flat on the fly for my wife at no charge. We will always take out vehicles there and recommend them to anyone!

Poor customer service. Just got off the phone with a guy who didn’t provide his name so that I could post it. But he was extremely rude. I just called in to get a quote on repairs I need. The guy asked questions that doesn’t even matter because I already know what I need repaired. So he goes on to say well I can’t give you my type of quote without the info.

2022-08-04I came there with an A/C problem. Facts only. My car was there in total 2 weeks, I must call them every day to figure out how is it going (because no one thought it necessary to inform me) and about more than a week it was under investigation. A/C repair costs me about 1000$ and the back seat was torn open like it was gnawed by a rat after I got the car back. After about 2k miles A/C doesnt work with the same symptoms as before repairing. Totally not recommend this place if you value your time and do not want to pay big money for poor quality work.

2020-07-22Highly recommended. Fair, honest, and good to their word. I run a diesel shop in Houston and broke down while visiting Austin. I was able to diagnose the problem myself, but did not have the tools with me to make the repair and needed to get back on the road asap. I did not tell the shop I knew what the problem was and just dropped off the truck with a check engine light complaint. The shop diagnosed the problem correctly, bid the job at a fair price and even worked with me on getting the truck back early so I could get out of town on time. The guys kept great communication during the repair and upheld every commitment they made to me. When I picked up my truck I also overheard a discussion they had with another customer about repair options on their car. I was very impressed to hear the exact same advise I would have given the lady that knew nothing about the car she had, and was very impressed to see he was giving good advise even though he was recommending to not spend any more money on her car.Very impressed all the way around and I will be using them again in the future.

2019-10-10I came here for my wife’s car inspection and they got the car in and out in less than 30 minutes. They are really laid back and Shannon who helped me was super helpful! The waiting area has a very homey feel, with comfortable seating and nice AC. The music was really uplifting, and the vibe was just great!The car needed a bulb replaced and they did it at a very reasonable price (no extra $$$ for ‘labor’ as most auto shops would charge).I was so pleased at the service that I decided to return for my own car inspection the same day.I’d definitely recommend this repair shop for any of your car repair /maintenance needs. They do great work. 👍

2022-07-06I took my truck at 9 in the morning to have it checked and it was 3 in the afternoon and they didnt call me. so I personally went to see what was happening and they only gave me a very expensive diagnosis because I took it to another workshop and it was a very basic thing, tremendous thieves who are here 😡😡😡😡😡

2022-03-02My driver side back blinker went out and I called to see if they could fix it. Shannon on the phone was so sweet and said they did and just to bring it in anytime. I went up there and within 8 minutes they had installed the new light and told me there was no charge! I was too stunned to speak 😂 but finally blurted out thank you. Ive never been there before so they didnt know me. Now I feel like playing the lottery tonight 😂

2022-08-16In January I went to have my car repaired told Shannon I had taken it to Pep Boy and was told the gas tank needed to be replaced. He quoted me $1700. I went back to Pep Boy who said $1400. I called , he matched but on pickup charged me $1500. 2 months later still smelling oil, took it to Mini dealer and low and behold I am being told the housing is where the leak was...call and recorded Shannon saying they did what I told them to do...seeing I am not a machine not sure how that makes sense. They had my car all day, with oil leaking all over, took my money and not fixed the problem...No single woman should go here...pretending to be Godly, yeah right!! RIP off. People should not be fooled by the FAKE reviews...….stay away!!!!! I dont know where the lying is coming from, BUT STAY AWAY...U WILL GET RIPPED OFF!

2020-05-28Foundation always does a great job at a fair price. I have taken multiple cars there for many years. They demonstrate a high level of integrity and I never worry about whether I’m having something done that is unnecessary. They also provide very good explanations of the issues...much better than I often get from the dealer. They are better than going to the dealer in pretty much every way.

2021-01-13Really great service at this place. I brought my old Ford into Foundation because it wasn’t running right. I replaced the carburetor myself and my shade tree mechanics weren’t up to par. The guys up front(Shannon and Daniel) we’re honest on their prices and had my truck running right in 24 hours. The hourly on labor is real fair there and they got it all done with the one hour of diagnostics they quoted me. The mechanic(Roddy) even came out and told me everything he did. A couple of vacuum leaks fixed right and a gasket I forgot to put on and it’s a everyday driver again. I will definitely be bringing it back for my rear end work I need to get done.Shade tree mechanic humbled. Thanks Foundation!
