Sunset Gardens in other cities:
So I called and spoke to a young Lady named Marry Ann. She was very kind and was very helpful. I went in late June and bought 2 Fig trees. They was very helpful and the prices are very reasonable for the size of trees I bought!i had a young gentleman that helped me find them and was very helpful. I came back last week and they had what I wanted but it would fit in my car. So when I go back to El Paso, I’ll definitely stop back by! I would highly recommend this place. Thank you all for the kindness! See you all soon!
Great selection, knowledgeable staff, (IF you get the older crew), but pay VERY close attention to what the prices marked on products say vs. what they charge at the register. Worse, when called on it, they didnt even offer to honor the original sticker price. Probably offer more stars if they were honest about it🤷🏻♀️
I found this to be a hidden gem in El Paso. I live in the Dallas area and can say that Sunset Gardens has a greater selection of indoor plants than many nurseries in the metro. They carry a lot of hard-to-find plants and at a reasonable price. I stopped by twice during my trip to El Paso, and thats only because I discovered them on my last few days in town. The staff and owners are great and were a ton of help. Love this place.
Amazing customer service! I live out of state and wanted to get something nice for my mom and grandma who still live in EP. I asked if I could make an order and pay over the phone and they were so accommodating and helpful! Jazzy was so caring and helpful and even texted me photos of some arrangements and called me to make sure my requests were met. Just amazing!
Sunset Gardens has a great selection of pots and plants, potting soil, trees, and herbs. And they seem to stay well-stocked through the winter months. The staff is knowledgeable, so friendly and helpful, and its easy to spend time and money! With spring just around the corner, itd be worth your while to visit Sunset Gardens at least once!
Highly Recommend!! I live in Fort Worth and was in need of a gift for my Moms birthday and Sunset Gardens went above and beyond. They sent me multiple pictures of different plant and pot options until we landed on the perfect combination, they repotted the plant for me, and delivered it to the front door with a note. Amazing service!! Thank you!!
Poor customer service !!!!I bought some grass there I PAID @ sunset garden , the grass came from evergreen turf site but was mis identified they supplied fescue instead Bermuda , the fescue is dying , is not suitable for this region(hot weather) ,I call to Sunset Garden for the warranty/replacement the girls on desk sent me to call the evergreen turf ,because they at Sunset Garden ... we just place the order come on I bought from sunset garden Co. not from Evergreen; any way I call Evergreen turf the guy at phone told me this is a Sunset issue...We( at evergreen) did not make any business with you... and sadly but true ...So now I understand how they consume the fraud ....trying to save some bucks from buying the grass from HD or Lowes .I kept the lost .
For my grandmothers funeral, we decided to buy plants for each of my aunts and uncle to take home in memory of their mother. I was coordinating this from Washington D.C. and I received the most exemplary service from Lili. It was such a blessing to work with her. Thank you, Lili!Sunset Gardens was the only nursery that had lush, beautiful blooming plants. Everyone loved them and they added so much beauty to the celebration of my grandmothers life. We all look forward to them becoming heirlooms. Thank you!
This is my favorite plant nursery in El Paso! They have a great selection of outdoor and indoor plants and a lot of trendy houseplants that I cant find anywhere else. The staff is nice and will help you if you ask them to. Little tip: if staff anywhere asks you to wear a mask in these times, you wear a mask!
While the staff is pretty friendly, they seem to only want to talk to each other and their selection is both unhealthy and limited. They charge you 3.5% for card purchases no matter how much you spend. Too bad, besides Lowes and Home Depot, this is the only independent plant nursery within 10 miles of my house.
Bought 7 Star Jasmine plants. Great selection. But, they have about a 3.5% surcharge for payment but y credit card. I didnt notice the surcharge until 2 days afterwards. Did not notice any signage indicating a surcharge for credit card usage. To me that is a poor business practice.
This afternoon was my first visit. It’s a beautiful property with friendly folks. Great place if you need landscaping plants. Their house plant and succulent section was a little sad however. All of the succulents are stretched out. Some have rotted or are in the process (as were some cacti and African violets). The snake plants, pleia, and agave were healthy, but their string of pearls were a little etoliated and their burros tails were on the brink: wrinkly, bare, and probably suffering. This was concerning and kept me from buying.
So today my husband and I visited this nursery as we have in the past and to be honest I had the worst experience ever...My husband and I were looking at the plants and planned to buy a good amount but we were rudely approached by a female employee and she told my husband he needed to wear a mask...Keep in mind he has breathing issues and per the directive people with these conditions do not have to wear a mask...When we explained this we got attitude...Then we continued to walk around and noticed at least two of the employees not wearing a mask so I got frustrated and we left...I called the manger and mentioned my concern about being approached and and that it was a little unethical to question a persons medical condition...I also asked him how he was enforcing customers to wear mask but not the employees...He took attitude with me and said that all his employees are wearing mask... news flash if it’s not worn over the nose and mouth it’s the same as not wearing it...Needless to say he didn’t seem concerned with my disappointment nor was he concerned with me telling him that I wouldn’t be back...I truthfully have no plans to shop at a place that does not care about my business or not which really surprises me that every customer isn’t a priority especially In these trying times
Dont waste your time! They are super rude and wont ask if you need help(even if you walk the WHOLE property!) When you ask someone a gardening question they answer with such an awfull attitude and make you feel like your an idiot for asking questions and for wasting their time! Go to Casa Verde on love or Sierra growers in la vinya nm (its worth the trip!) Plus this place is OVER priced!

2022-05-14Big enough nursery to find a good amount of everything from indoor plants, trees, cacti, bushes and flowers. Largest selection of indoor plants in El Paso and are located inside a cooled building. They also have pottery and soil for sale. They do accept credit/debit card but with an added 3.5% charge to your bill. I would definitely recommend this nursery even just to browse.

2022-01-31The selections are good but the plants are a bit overpriced. Pothos are about $25+, a nursery string of turtles were $20, etc. I saw a variegated SOH for $120 and it wasnt even trailing or anything. Some plants you can buy at walmart for $10 is double the price here. I mean maybe they charge that much because they really don’t have any competition out here in El Paso and Alamogordo NM. Also, the plants are obviously well taken care of. If money is not an issue for you, this is a great place for plants. I would definitely go back when I have the $$$

2021-07-26Love this place! We usually cant keep plants alive, and are from the pacific northwest, so we have lots to learn about gardening here. Jazzy was so knowledgeable about plant and plant-care recommendations. Really appreciate their help!

2022-05-26Its a pretty place and although its a little pricey they plants look in good condition. My issue was I was looking for some plants and trees for backyard and asked two different people that worked there. Felt like they really didnt want me to ask them as they gave vaque answers and began to walk off after the answer. Definitely didnt feel like a welcomed customer. Typically I go other places and they answer my questions and give insight. Not here. This is second time Ive tried and same thing. Will look elsewhere

2022-08-09Picked up some cotton bur (soil conditioner-breaks up the clay we have in this area and makes the ground more penetrable for the roots to take). This nursery is the only one that I know that carries it locally (I could be wrong). The lady at the register was very helpful with assisting to locate a specific breed of tree I was looking for (Hackberry). Unfortunately they did not have it but she went the extra mile and even called a couple of other places in the area to see if they had any in-stock.They have a good variety of inventory and service was excellent on this visit.

2022-07-25Large selection and you can find a few good deals, but most of the indoor plants are unfortunately overpriced or have outdated pricing. Additionally, I had a bad customer service experience the last time I went here.

2021-09-29Visited over Labor Day weekend just to look, ended up finding 2 taller bushes that I was wanting at a good price. Staff informed me that they had a sale for 25% off which made me purchase a Palo Verde tree I had been wanting as well Theirs was bigger and fuller than the only other place selling them and the sale price clinched the sale. Two weeks later I returned and got a good looking purple leaf plum. Everything is looking great at home.
