If you are into gardening and live in the city this is perfect for you. Mom, Dad and I went to check it out, and several gardeners gave us some freshly grown veggies to take home. The parents loved the experience.
We take our kitchen compost here. They have various kinds of compost piles. People who rent garden space grow some beautiful veggies and flowers.
Such a cute place! I love that they accept composting donations since we live in an apartment and cant get curbside compost pick up.
Great neighborhood garden where you can rent your own plot and grow next to other gardens and learn more about Texas gardening from other Texas gardeners. They also have plant sales here every now and then for your own home garden.
Beautifull little community garden in Austin. I went with my sister to water her garden and the garden of another person who was out of town that week. Its really nice, how the gardeners do favors like that for each other.
Plant sale was very exciting, kind of like the black Friday of gardening without the craziness. Great local community garden and friendly people.

First Sat in March is annual garden plant sale. Dozens of varieties of Tomatoes and peppers, plus herbs and music. Bring a wagon!.
I attended their annual plant sale and it was great. A fantastic selection of plants that have thrived since I got them home.

Spring sale is a great way to get local organic plants. Proceeds go to a good cause.
Plant sale gets picked over very quickly. Not sure about garden space.

There usually is a wait list but I think its most people just have to wait a 6 month season.

My best friend is part of this community garden. Its a really unique garden located in the middle of the city. Pretty cool concept, I wish more cities did this.

2022-03-05Came here for the spring sale - beautiful plantings for $2/each! The volunteers were really nice, it was crowded and lots of lines so plan accordingly.

2020-09-28Our apartment doesn’t collect compost, and we found SCG on a website called Compost Coalition. We are so grateful they allow everyone to drop off compost and will find more ways to connect with their many offerings. After you park, there’s a walkway that leads to the compost pile. Easy parking, kind gardeners, breath of fresh air in the heart of Austin.

2020-03-07Amazing space and wonderful people. Whenever there is an event to support this, or any other local community garden, definitely go out and spend some money, the produce is wonderful, the plants are well cared for and youre helping to keep this green space in the city limits.

2019-09-09Nearly 30 years in Austin, and tonight was the first time I visited Sunshine Community Gardens. What a lovely place! I want to replicate everything and do the same thing in Leander. So thoughtfully laid out, an oasis in the city.
