I enjoyed the spacious room with clean beds. also appreciate the modern look. Cons, no breakfast, but a short assortment of honey buns and granola bars. Stains in walls & showers corners.
My phone was stolen as I left to work from my room. We stay at this specific location because we are construction workers. Manager is rude. Always stalking the visitors. Can’t go to my vehicle without him coming over to see what it is We are doing. AC don’t work in some rooms and neither does the fridge. Horrible experience after we reported the phone and the acs. He said there was nothing he could do. And for us not to go back if that’s best for us. Even though we spent more than 3 weeks. And we had over 5 rooms. The eye looks on the door are broken so he can peak thru your door. Very creepy old man.

Receptionist was a piece of work, dont know if she was new but she was not informative, and unprofessional. She gave us our receipts and almost charging us a second day to cover for the lack of communication to us the customer. The place was clean and peaceful, thank you for being opened.
They hotel staff is five star, however the owner? Not so much. Very rude when things did not occur on his time table. The room was immaculate and cozy. The bathroom had an unusual aroma of some type of mold from drains. Kindness and understanding cannot be stressed enough for the owner. You have a great staff Sir you could actuAlly learn from them if you did not know everything already!!!
My wife booked 2 rooms,1 for us and 1 for mother in law..story short..mother in law was told to leave bcuz there was 4 people with her..room had 2 double beds, they left back 2 Laredo..I will never stay there again. Old man manager..was rude
Went to check in with my two queen beds at a rate of $90.71 and general manager ANDY PATEL tired to swindle me into an additional $20 because of the two guests I had with me. He also refused to cancel my reservation. I had to call the 888 number while standing at his counter to cancel. I then made a reservation at another hotel in town. After I left this Best Western, I decided to double check the rate difference between 1 and 3 guests with two queen beds, and sure enough, the rate was the exact same for three guests as it is for one. This review serves as a warning to beware of this individuals dishonesty
I never stayed at a surestay before. I have to say it was a nice place. Looks can be deceiving at first. But hey I will be back. The room was clean, the bathroom was spotless. Bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly. What else do you want? The breakfast was just like all the other hotel chains.Thanks for a great rest. Hope to visit again in the future...
We had been here several years earlier and were pleased so we expected the same when we , weary from traveling, deliberately stopped again. Oh my, what a change! My biggest problem was the horrible smell of the room.There was a protective covering on the mattress and the bedding appeared clean so we stayed.We will never go back and I suggest you skip this one too.
I feel like this review is warranted since there are people like me who come to South Texas often because of family (sometimes we don’t always want to stay with them though lol)-Stay here. If you have to find a room in Alice or any surrounding area and don’t want to drive to Corpus- Mr. Patel’s Stay Sure can’t be beat.The rooms are clean and spacious, recently upgraded, the property is well maintained and small enough that you can get in and out easily, the pool (although closed right now) looked well maintained and so did the cute little BBQ area. AC ran super cold and bed was firm but comfy.Check in was simple, Mr. Patel gets you in and out and gives you the info you need to know About breakfast, etc. Whole reason I stayed here was because I knew the Patel family has high standards when it comes to their properties. He did not disappoint.So, all in all, I’m still here now, probably going to extend my stay one more night because for Alice Texas, this ain’t too bad for the price.Just a heads up- this BW is on the older sign of town, so you may be a little sketched out getting here. But this property is set back off the street and has a slight secluded feel- the original Dairy Burger is 2 minutes away (heavenly burgers and steak fingers), and everything else is 8-10 minutes (WalMart, HEB, Chili’s etc).Hope this helps someone who, like me, needed somewhere other than a La Quinta or Holiday Inn Express. Glad I gave this place a chance.
Very clean and nice looking hotel. Front desk guy was pretty cool and helpful. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Great experience overall.
Breakfast is okay at best, service is pretty good, rooms are very clean, wifi is working well and the price is good to. Would stay here every time Im working in Alice, as long as they improve their breakfast because its really not worth it most of the times. If it werent for that this would easily be 4 stars or more
The picture is not from the hotel. Those cute little guys and probably at least 1 female. Were at a nearby gas station. Surestay was an ok experience. Ive stayed at better. But Ive also stayed at far worse places. It appears to be an older style Motel from the 70s maybe 80s. They at least it had modern conviences such as a small coffee maker, and a office style refrigerator. Wall mounted TV. The bed was pretty comfy and at least a queen size. Wasnt real impressed with the hubpillows. OH and the one kind of real dislike was the A/C unit, while it worked nicely. Its annoying to the point that it sounds like some one is washing dishes. Thankfully I was too exhausted for it to keep me awake. Otherwise like I said it was okay. I stayed there only because it was business related.
The Patel family who are the owners of the Best Western Surestay Hotel in Alice, always takes good care of their guest & we stay there any time we are in the area. This was our 4 time & as always they are there to greet their guest at check-in, clean rooms & hot breakfast.
I have stayed here multiple times for work great staff and great rooms. I have never had a issue
This place was great, the only bad thing was do not forget your personal properties behind. The cleaning lady took out cah from my grandsons wallet that he forgot in the room. She did turn it in but the cash was taken out. Other than that the room and service was great.
Business traveler - checked in at 7.45 on a Mon evening - the owner greeted me and got me my room - room is spacious, well appointed and seems very clean. Small town motel - it exceeded my expectations - 5 stars for a friendly owner, and very clean rooms.

Stayed here because Kingsville was packed after the hurricane....I wasnt impressed. Room had a smell to it of old cigarette smoke as well as mold, bathroom is super cramped as well as the room. The parking lot is terrible! If you are handicap, forget it, you will be walking.....just not the friendliest place youd expect, either. Certainly will reconsider any BW stay from now on!!!
The place looks great inside but the first night I would find bugs in the whole families hair bed hugs and lice. I’ve never had this problem. Now I have to wash everything when I get home. Who should I call to report this?

We checked in, immediately saw cockroaches. Started looking around and very clearly the owners dont give a damn about this place, because it is run down and dirty. Staff was ok, but rates are too high for the quality of this place. 1/10 would not stay again...

Location is okay, kind of in the middle of nowhere. Beds are comfortable and room is clean. I think there is some mold growing on the bathroom ceiling, Im going to notify the owners tomorrow.
Just wanted everyone to what a top-notch pair of employees that work in the mornings at Best Western Alice, Tx. The problems I was having with an employee of my own, plus his spouse, the two stayed very calm, courteous, and professional . My appreciation to the staff there. Thank You very much.
Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was a little light, but it was a complimentary feature. Overall, a decent place to spend the night in the Alice area.

Through out my adult life I stayed at various hotels around the world. I stayed at 3 different BW hotels before this one in Alice Texas. This was the BEST BW hotel I ever enjoyed. For the price and it being a BW Hotel, NO OTHER HOTEL could come close to it. Ive stayed at Holiday Inns, Marriott hotels, Hyatt hotels. etc... this particular hotel BEAT them ALL. TOTALLY AWESOME BW ALICE, TX.
Descent place to stay. Would recommend this B Western to friends and family. Clean rooms,refrigerator,and microwaves. Quiet and peaceful place to stay. Also has a outdoor pool.
No frills. Bed was comfy. Only issues were the ice machine not working and the wifi was slow but that could also be the Internet as a whole in the area.
Owner was confrontational and called my boss a liar and a cheater only because he was trying to negotiate a better price since it was a group of 5 people and would be staying for approximately 3weeks.
It was very nice except for that funky, musky smell in the room. Kinda wanted to go buy Febreeze for the room.

Stayed there one nightand got a bad infection of bed bug bites. Management nor corporate office cared when informed. Will never stay there or in any of the affiliated properties.
They gave our receipt to some other person then they opened our door at 10 saying that we were already checked out!

I want to go to work as a front desk clerk I was made to kill a dog and also was discriminated against and told by was not wanted to work there because I was disabled I witnessed these people keeping credit card receipts information and not giving customers the reward points please dont go there send it to Uranus and the safety standards are not up to par and these are racist people who do not want disabled or black people working for them
After having left items there, the management worked with me to get them back to me, after i was hours away. The service was superb.
Well I experience total bad service plus they even took pictures of my siblings while they went to go visit me.Never in my entire life will I stay there.Plus you think u have privacy and you sure dont cause becarefull the owner is usually standing in the window just looking.

2021-11-27Stayed 7 nights. The price was decent. The rooms are okay. The AC was broken The first night and left a musty smell the rest of the nights. Breakfast was alright. Cold mostly and cereal was stale. The phones in our room didnt work. They made us bring our dirty towels to them in the front office before we could get more clean ones. They didnt have extra sheets or blankets when we needed them. They left cleaning products in my room sitting on the counter I had 2 young children with me. So that was upsetting. They mixed up our night and we had re rent the room for a last night. Staff is super nice though. I wouldnt recommend staying here for long periods of time but would be suitable for a night or two at most.

2022-07-08I was here at 12:10 am and no one answered me I spent a long time ringing the bell and no one answered it seems to me that if it is a hotel that is next to the road people are supposed to come to rest late, the manager or owner should check that because the hotel seemed quite empty and they stopped selling two rooms due to lack of attention

2021-09-21Positive: The beds were great. Negative: I have been all over the united states and stayed in various hotel chains, even Best Westerns. This place was a robbery. $50 more than any other night. then arrive early and want to charge an extra $30 to check in early. Never experienced that.

2021-05-05Best Western sets high standards for any hotel that bears their name. The room cleanliness and comfort in this place meets and exceeds those standards. The rooms was clean, well-maintained, well-equipped, and very comfortable. Thats all I want from a hotel where I am just staying for a night or two on a business trip. Good place

2021-03-25Decent and clean, but not the cleanest. I stay here 1 or 2 days out of the month, every month. Breakfast is a 2 star out of 5. They dont have breakfast due to the covid, but they do offer snacks and coffee, better than nothing. Pool is a 3 out of 5. Front desk employees are mostly not there when u arrive takes a while for them to attend u, but the guys are polite. Always get ice from the ice machine, nice to have that around in hot days, for my cooler. Over all good place to rest.

2021-07-01Checked in as a last minute stop around 11:30PM. Place was clean, bed was comfortable. A/C worked great which is a big plus for me! Would definitely recommend if youre on a budget and just need a place to unwind for the night.

2020-07-27The hotel & rooms were nice but the front desk guy was crazy. He called me everyday for 2 days because I rented room & did not get there till 3rd day. The day rent was due, he must of lost my phone number. He talked to my 13 yr old son. He screamed, yelled & cussed my child. When my son called me, crying & scared to stay there then we checked out, but not before he charged me $40 for late check out at 12 pm. This man is crazy. DO NOT STAY HERE. Its not worth your safety.
