Great place for after church brunch. Their croffle is a new twist using crepe batter poured in a waffle iron. So dad and I had to try them. 👍😋👍 Glad we did. Dad had the Apple and cinnamon and I had the Banana Nutella. If you like coffee you will love their Segafrado coffee. As you can see, you can flavor-flav your bean juice.Katie was our server and she is awesome‼️She was very accommodating with a little customizations we asked for and walking us thru their huge menu.We will be back.
Decided to try this new place that opened close to my house. Arrived around 10:15 and we seated immediately. Placed our order around 10:30. It’s been an hour and we are still waiting for our food. I’m trying to be patient because it is relatively new. I must say that I am extremely disappointed that the manager never came over to address this or apologize for the wait. The 2 young ladies at the front did manage to drop off my $50 bill even though I hadn’t received any food yet. Not sure what the issue is since the restaurant isn’t very busy at all. The waitress was a sweetheart but management needs to work on their customer service. Very disappointed
This place is great! So cute, light, and lovely. Very soothing atmosphere. Decor is on point. Everyone is so friendly and hospitable. The employees work hard here and deliver exceptional customer service. Food is delicious, too! I fell in love with this place, and its conveniently located right around the corner from my home! I will definitely be coming here more often.
We usually expect that an establishment strives for perfection in its opening, even a soft opening. This is especially essential given the number of such places popping up. This is an extremely competitive space right now and there is no room for lackluster performance. We all know that you only have one chance to make a good impression. Our first experience here fell far below what we’ve experienced at the other Breakfast spots growing in the area. The staff was pleasant albeit clearly inexperienced. We’ve also been used to an owner being visible and engaged to ensure perfection and solicit real time feedback. If the owner was there, they were certainly invisible. It seemed like the restaurant was turned over to the kids for the morning. My wife is Vegan and the waitress helped her craft a skillet that was a slight variation on a menu item. Basically the meat and cheese were both removed, and a couple vegetables were replaced with others. Unfortunately what they served first was not what she ordered. They kindly re-made the dish. The second try had the right ingredients although was luke warm and swimming in oil. She was able to eat at least some of it. The real shock came when we got the bill. What she has ordered at many other breakfast spots for roughly $9 - $10 ended up costing more than $16 because most of the simple ingredient substitutions were priced individually on TOP of the cost of the menu dish itself and there was no consideration for ingredients that were removed like the meat, and cheese. Buyer beware!I always try the Eggs Benedict in a new place. The menu made a point of stating that they served Canadian Bacon in their Benedict. What came were two paper thin pieces of Ham. The eggs were done nicely however the dish was mostly cold, possibly because it was served on an oversized porcelain plate that itself was cold. The hash browns were clearly frozen, unusually flat, and lacking texture and taste.Honestly the most annoying feature for my dish was the large porcelain plate that was warped and annoying to eat off of. I’m used to using sugar packets to stop a chair from wobbling. This is the first time I’ve had to level my food plate this way. I informed our waiter but I suspect the plate will live on to annoy other customers.Even with the ‘soft opening discount’ we dropped more than $40 for a simple breakfast for the two of us, more than we have in the past outside of a Breakfast Buffet. We like to see new locals succeed but nothing less than perfection will survive.
Ordered from Talias for the first time today for brunch. Food was here on time, with a sweet personalized note thanking us for our order and wishing us a great day. Before the order arrived, they called when they noticed grubhub had forgotten the coffees we ordered, and they sent fresh ones immediately themselves! The food was phenomenal. (Try the salmon eggs Benedict!) They made the most wonderful first impression, and gained 2 new fans and loyal customers. :)
Great Cafe in Allen! I have had breakfast and lunch here a few times over the past month. Everything that we have ordered has been delicious!! The classic breakfast is great every time. I also enjoyed the breakfast burrito. The croffles are YUM! The staff is always fast, friendly, and attentive. The owner is very nice and always takes the time to greet us.
Called to ask about the early bird special. The person who picked up told me they discontinued the offer starting June. I don’t understand because I got this coupon in the mail on the week of June 5th and the coupon clearly said the expiration date is 7/15/22. Maybe next time spend your marketing budget on something you are actually going to honor??
I visited this place for breakfast after church, it was good. They give plenty of food, the wait staff seems pretty inexperienced but still fine, everyone has to start somewhere. The coffee was lukewarm like it was made and not kept on the burner, as soon as I added creamer it was cold and I could not drink it. I will definitely be back hopefully the staff has had enough time to gain more experience.
Went during soft opening. They charge $12 for a waffle that doesn’t come with any sides. I thought it was little overpriced for a waffle I can easily make at home. I was expecting special sauce or something that makes me want to say “wow” but I can easily make it at home. The service was super slow. All the ketchup bottles were empty when we went and they never refilled our water. Will spend my money elsewhere.
New place in the area. We were seated quickly. We received prompt service and it did not take long at all for our food to show up.Overall it was as expected but I can’t say it was anything out of the norm. I am sure they just need a little time to refine processes and their menu. From what I understand it’s family owned and I like to support local businesses.
Simply not good. We were surprised that there were only a few people there at 8:30 on a Saturday morning, but after the meal, it became quite clear. The eggs had a strange green color to them and they were so over cooked that rubber would be easier to eat. The hash browns were smashed as if they were hit by a steam roller. Their pancakes are made from something that is not pancake batter so they dont resemble or taste like pancakes. The only thing I can say was enjoyed was the ham my wife had on her plate. Even when the disappointment in the experience was relayed to the wait staff, no one bothered to come by to check in.
I am happy that I found a good breakfast place next to my home area. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was crispy enough. The food and coffee were good, and the staffs were very friendly and welcoming. I will come back next time for sure. I highly recommend this cafe to my neighbors.
The staffs were very nice, and I got a discount for the soft opening. I will come back when it is grand opening. My skillets were amazing too. It was a great experience and a good atmosphere. The bathroom was clean too. I dont go to a place if the bathroom is bad. Overall, 5 stars.
Honestly , this place is really disappointing. We were so excited to have a new brunch spot so close to home. If I could leave 0 stars I would. The service is awful. We sat at our table for 30 minutes before we ordered. What they charge and what their menu shows does not match. They didn’t bring out all of our food. The food is mediocre AT BEST. We will not be returning.
Food tasted pretty good, but some items on the menu were not good values. I had the meat-lover waffle, which was way overpriced at $12 a la carte. It was literally one waffle with tiny pieces of bacon and sausage sparsely sprinkled in the batter. The freshly squeezed OJ was $6 and was noticeably sour and had almost no pulp. Clean and spacious dining area.
I had high hopes for this place but it seems like the negative reviews I read from the soft opening still haven’t been addressed. We arrived at 9:30 on a Saturday, there were two families sitting with drinks. We were promptly seated and given menus and water. At 9:50 we stopped one of the staff members when we would be able to place our order. 10:00 an elderly gentleman came to take out order (same person that gave us the menus) and explained that he was new and staff was short. My wife ordered a talias latte with ice cream. He asked if she wanted it hot or cold. After a pause she explained she would like the cold version. Five minutes later he came back to inform us there is no ice cream. 10:20 still no food and watched another couple that came in after us leave. Our server was clearly trying, I watched him work the register and to go orders as well. It wasn’t packed at all, the ratio of of staff to customers was almost equal. The staff clearly hasn’t been well trained and there is no one leading the kitchen or wait staff. Very disappointing and worst service I’ve had in a very long time. We eventually just paid for the coffee and left.
Today was my second time coming to Talia’s. Admittedly, when going the first time, the wait was significantly long, however, after tasting the food there was no denying how delicious it was so I figured I’d wait a few weeks before coming back knowing they were just opening and settling in.Complete turnaround, for the better. From the time we entered to the time we sat down, it only took 20 minutes to get our food and it was just as good (if not better) than the first visit. THE CROFFLES have me in a chokehold because they are so good along with the veggie omelet and their perfectly seasoned potatoes. Magnificent! And to top it off, Joy, the owner spent quality time with my family and I and she is truly the sweetest and invested in the feedback to truly make her place one of the best. I believe that Talia’s may become another staple for the Allen area as they have well-crafted dishes and now have the staff to maintain their growing volume of customers.I’ll be going back within the week.
My friends came in and loved the food and friendly staff so I thought Id try it out. It did NOT disappoint! The food was great, FRESH, hot and the service wonderful. I was a bit hesitant bc it was super busy but my food came out hot and I cant wait to tell all my friends. This is my FAVORITE CAFE!!
We were in the area and saw that this place just opened. We tried it out and it was pretty good. My gf and I both built our own omelet and shared a croffle while we waiting for the entree. Everything was pretty good. The omelet was a pretty good size and seasoned well. The biggest surprise was how good the coffee was. It wasnt watered down. I would come back.
If I could give zero stars I would. Sad thing is that we were excited for this place to open, our mistake. First time there and they couldn’t seat us. Hostess and told us it was around an hour wait, and hour and a half wait to get the food once seated. No care, she was on her phone while speaking with us. There were at least 10 tables open maybe more. Looks like they opened too soon and we’re way understaffed. My suggestion is to be better prepared when opening. As a business owner this was very disappointing to see.
Our waiter was very kind, but clearly overwhelmed. Visited on a Saturday morning around 10, was promptly seated but had to wait a long time for service. Only one waiter covering the entire floor on a Saturday morning? With no help from management? (Some kind of manager was in house, but not helping the staff). Unacceptable. Food was above average for the price, but not incredible. Had the veggie omlet and eggs Benedict. They have a lot of potential here, but if they dont figure out how to help out their staff and improve their workflow theyre not going to make it.
I came in this morning because I excited to see there was a new breakfast place in my neighborhood. I asked my server, Talia to make some recommendations. Everything came out quickly and the food was delicious! The place is beautiful, clean and is definitely my new breakfast place. The staff is kind and friendly.
Group of 6 went to Talias Cafe for breakfast on a Sunday around 9am. I had the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. I didnt think the salmon worked on it, but the eggs were cooked perfectly and the hollandaise was good, so I imagine the traditional eggs Benedict would have been great. Others in the group had traditional breakfast, strawberry croffle, breakfast burrito, and biscuits and gravy, and everyone enjoyed what they had. Our server, I think her name was Natalie, was very good too!
This place is absolutely wonderful. I came here on a Saturday and this place was pretty packed. I only had to wait 15 minutes (which was understandable because they only had two servers). For being short staffed, the servers delivered care with a smile on their face and with patience. Being a previous waitress I am more than aware of how hard they must be working. Another reason I came to this place was because a friend recommended their “Croffles” to me. I was so glad I listened to her. Good- 10/10, service- 10/10. Will I be returning? Absolutely. Come to talias cafe if you’re looking for some good breakfast, you won’t regret it.
Oh my, such amazing and flavorful brunch and that too so close to home. We had the chicken and waffle, the egg Benedict and the buritto. The egg Benedict, the hollindase sauce was good! The buritto was amazing!! We went on a Sunday for brunch. It was crowded but the service and food was just excellent. Waiting to go back!
Used to be great. But clearly they are falling apart. Last weeks breakfast Uber eats order was partially missing. I had scheduled a bunch order last night. Per the app they started it and halfway though the process they cancelled the order because they suddenly ran out of sausage. How to do you run out of sausage in the middle of breakfast hour on a weekend? Do you make “fresh” sausages every night?
We went for breakfast this morning and enjoyed the amazing spread. Ordered croffle with nutella, froffles, French toast and crepes , along with coffee. Very delicious though a bit disappointed with too much cream inside the crepes, and slightly warm coffee! Would recommend this place for breakfast definitely!
We were looking forward to it opening since we can walk there, but the $12 Traditional was awful. I didn’t realize the basics could go so wrong: oddly tasting Cajun-like hash browns that weren’t supposed to taste Cajun, ash-like bacon, overdone biscuit... I hope this restaurant makes changes soon. Upside: friendly staff. To the Owner: Check out the quality food of your competitors and you’ll see what I mean: Eggsquisite Cafe just down the road and Fairview Farmers.
I ordered a vegetable scramble and it was delicious!! Super filling and healthy. The staff was very friendly and the owner Joyi came by the table and greeted me.I brought some books to study for a couple hours while drinking tea. This is the perfect place to work on your laptop. They have free wifi and some tables have a plug under the table. Joyi said she welcomes people to come here and hangout to have a cup of coffee to work, study or read. Its a perfect place to get away from the home office for a change of scenery. Will come back again next week. Thank you.
SUMMARY: I would give a NEGATIVE 10 STARS IF IT WERE AN OPTION Service was horrible, attitude even worse and the food was not quality for the price. A small glass of Orange Juice was priced at $5.49We were greeted by a hostess and seated immediately. I asked her what a Croffle is, and she did explain that it was her first day and didnt really know; however, since it is one of the top breakfast dishes she should have been better trained or at least offered to ask someone. We waited over 10 minutes for a waitress to appear with two glasses of water and curtly ask if we were ready to order. I asked her what a Croffle vs. a Froffle was and she answered very brusquely without making eye contact.I ordered Earl Gray Tea with cream to drink. She took our order and went to another table for over 8 minutes therefore delaying my tea. The tea arrived and was at best, lukewarm. I had to ask for cream again. She brought it back and did inform us that she checked on our order and it would be 5 more minutes.Almost six minutes later our order arrived. My French Toast was prettily arranged on an oblong plate with two large dollops of whip cream, and their idea of a dusting of powdered sugar was a tiny bit in the middle of each triangle. I had to ask for syrup. I ordered the combo with eggs over hard and bacon crisp but not burned. Eggs were barely warm and I pointed out burned bacon and she said oh yeah, Im sorry. No offer to get me more to my liking or to adjust the check. I could only eat a small amount of 3 slices as it was burned.By the time I ate two triangles of the toast I asked for more powdered sugar. She disappeared to the back and came back with things for two other tables, no powdered sugar. I was down to half of the last triangle when she said oh yeah, you wanted powdered sugar. I said well its a little late now. Again she tossed out a half-hearted Im sorry, and walked away. She got a 10% tip and in my opinion did not deserve that.My husband got a skillet that looked good, but was small for the amount of money. He said the eggs and meat were hot, but the hash brown nest it was in was soggy and lukewarm. For your money and quality of food, Starwood is a better bet.
I would not recommend this place to nobody. Especially if you hungry it’s takes 30min just for them to get a simple order out which is ridiculous then at that the eggs are barley edible and hash browns are so salty & the food is way to over priced for the portion you get. the owner has no clue of how to run a restaurant very unprofessional & rude . the so called “manger” has no experience in the restaurant industry, has no good customer Service is very rude. I would be amazed if the place last a year
Waited 2 hrs for our food after ordering. It came out burned and cold on half of our order. The other half we were told the cooks didnt know how to make them so we had to re order . Finally when we had some food in front of us the flavor was horrible . Over all if I could give 0 stars I would. Not a place to come if youre hungry.
There was some good, some average, some a bit less than average things about Talias.Good - Friendly attentive waitstaff and time from order to food on the table (great). Eggs were fine, hash browns not greasy, hot, and actually had some seasoning in them, perfect, a rarity. Coffee was fine.Biscuits were soft, kinda doughy. Pro tip - just buy some frozen Mary Bs Buttermilk biscuits. Taste like homemade and less than $.20 each. For an $11 traditional breakfast, I expect a decent biscuit. I also expect better than average bacon. I got 3 VERY thin slices of supposedly applewood smoked bacon. Couldnt taste the smoke seasoning. Owner, go to Darrens in Springpark and see what good breakfast bacon should be like. Nothing wrong with your bacon but to get a loyal, devoted following, you need something to bring people back. Baconll do it. Ask Homer SimpsonAll in all, a touch above average. Ill go back if, for no other reason, to try the Croffles. Ill also give the traditional another try. I can live with a subpar biscuit but, if the paltry bacon issue remains, Im done.
Restaurant in soft opening. Friendly staff clean restaurant. Liked the food presentation; however, the eggs (Over easy) were over cooked & the breakfast potatoes appeared to be of the frozen sort & fried, not fresh potatoes, Sausage patties were OK - pancake was good. May give them another try in the future.
Not ready for customers. Need different or more experienced cooks. Food was cold even though there was only 3 or 4 other tables w/ customers. I picked my whole bowl of grits up w/ my fork. Wifes pancakes were gritty like cornmeal. Will try again on 3 or 4 months when hopefully some of the issues are resolved.
For a new restaurant, worst service I have witnessed. Ordered breakfast to go, receptionist did not understand the menu, took at least five times to enter my order in the computer. I waiting over 25 minutes for my order, order I received was not what I requested. I spoke to the owner and told him this was my first visit and my last visit. They offered me a refund, I refused the refund but would share my experience with my circle of friends and ask them not to eat at this restaurant. When I arrived home and tasted the food; eggs were dry, toast was soggy, fruit was warm, all terrible. The owners of this restaurant failed to train the staff on what quality customer service looks like and what quality food taste like.
Hostess and server were great, very nice and pleasant. Server took our order and appeared to understand that I wanted a veggie omelet. The menu did not say it had cheese on it, nor was I asked if I wanted cheese. When the order came out, I cut into my omelet and it had cheese and ham in it. I pointed it out to our server right away and she was very concerned and apologetic. Twenty minutes later my replacement omelet was served to me. It was hot and very tasty.I expected to have the omelet comp’d since I had to wait so long, but it wasn’t. When checking out the cashier asked me how everything was, I told her it was ok because I had to send my omelet back because it wasn’t vegetarian. She was obviously not trained on what to say because she just plugged on and made no comment. We went during the soft opening when only limited items on the menu were available. We may go back someday when we’ve hear better reviews.
I’m not a picky diner, but our food was average at best and slow to arrive. Service was substandard and the menu is overpriced in comparison to the quality. I will give it another chance but am disappointed with my first experience. Hopefully I just caught them on a bad day.
I’ve been meaning to come since Talias opened! Finally got the opportunity today. I ate the eggs Benedict and croffle. They were both delicious. The croissant waffle is a very interesting idea, and I def need to bring my kids to try. The Eggs Benedict tho.. I LOVE eggs benedict in general. I order it at every brunch restaurant and it is very difficult to come by a good one. Talias is now my favorite eggs benedict in the frisco/Plano/Allen area.
Overpriced and exactly like the 30 other breakfast joints in town. These restaurants can’t get creative and copy each other. Whether you eat here or at Sunview or eggsquisite it’s all the same.I don’t give this place to long before they close down they are always very slow
Limited menu, says gluten they have GF but they don’t. Was one of the reasons we visited. Ordered and had a 45 min long wait for food and fairly slow and mediocre service. I know the staff are young and new but we won’t be returning. I understand it was a soft opening but still had to get food from another restaurant due to limited menu for some of our family. Sorry for the bad review just honest feedback.
Our waitress was very attentive and sweet! She had patience with us as it was our first time, and was helpful with the questions I had. The French toast waffles are seriously amazing! The vanilla latte was good. The cafe itself was nice and spacious. I will most certainly come back!

2022-02-27Today I passed by and noticed Talias Cafe was having an soft opening. I love trying new places and Im glad I did. Every one was super nice and gave exemplary customer service. I ordered 3 dishes. The French Toast plate, the Fish and Chips and the Chicken and Waffles. The Chicken and Waffles was hands down the best of the 3. Perfectly cooked with a dash of powder sugar. On a final note, the manager/owner introduced herself to me. She was so friendly and professional. I wish them the best of luck in the future. Give them a try if your in the area.

2022-05-06I’ve been here multiple times over the last few weeks since opening for both breakfast and lunch. The food has been great. Typical diner food with some surprises. I’ve had most of the sandwiches and they are all solid, the BLT with an over easy egg was messy but good. And the Reuben was awesome. Really good fries that are always hot and crispy. I’ve also had some of their omelettes and really like the one with Chorizo. A friend of mine had the chocolate crepes one time and they were great and well presented. The staff is friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The owner is very nice and always comes up to say hi. Bathrooms are clean and well kept. Really lovely little place, I recommend it.

2022-09-14Its our first time here and were somewhat disappointed. The cheese croffles have a slice of plastic-y American cheese on top with a bit of dry parsley, and neither are all that flavorful. For the price a piece I wouldve at least expected a slice of melty cheddar. The spicy chicken and waffles tasted great, but the chickens breading was soft instead of crispy, and it was completely falling of the chicken which was dry. One of our plates of eggs were fine, the other were still raw-ish on top, the egg whites were not fully cooked. The place is cute and cozy, and it has so much potential. You just gotta address those details that prevent it from being great.

2022-09-10I love to go and try different brunch places. I was looking to try something new for mommy and me date with my daughter. I decided to give this Place a try and I am glad I did. The place has really cute vibe, beautiful ambience, great selection of food,( they also have GF items) I loved their Croffles. Prices are very reasonable too. Our server Natalie was so sweet and did great job in making sure we have everything we need like condiments , refilling coffee etc. They did charge me for extra coffee by mistake but the owner immediately apologized and took care of it.We are Definitely coming back.

2022-05-21Update: went back today because we enjoyed our food so much and wanted to try other things on the menu. It was a bit busier but not packed. We got seated right away but the table was dirty. Our waiter took another tables order before taking ours and they came after us. It took a really long time to get our food which wouldve been fine if the food was worth the wait but it really wasnt. We noticed another table that was there before us had been sitting there for a long time already before they got their food. When we finally got ours, my husbands patty melt came on white bread when its supposed to be rye. He said it still tasted good but it wouldve been better on the right bread. My eggs Benedict was less to be desired. The eggs were not properly poached. They dont have the right technique. It just came out as watery, stringy egg whites...like a slop of eggs. The yolk wasnt creamy. The muffin was soaking wet (posted second pic) like they just dumped dripping wet stringy eggs right onto the muffin. It was way too wet to eat. The Canadian bacon was 2 very thin slices. I really couldnt enjoy it and eggs Benedict is one of my favs. Disappointed but Ill still give the place another chance. They still have some kinks to work out. The hostess apologized for the wait which I appreciate being acknowledged. Honestly, I dont mind waiting for food if told in advanced and if it came out right. The food has to be worth the wait for it to be acceptable and for me to want to come back. Theyre really trying so Im hopeful this place works out......Decided to come here for brunch on a Saturday since its new. It wasnt busy at all so we were immediately seated. Our waiter Logan was very nice and attentive. My husband and I both got different skillets and really enjoyed them. The meatlovers was full of meat which my husband was pleased to see. I had a custom skillet with sausage and jalapenos. I would have liked to see a bit more hash browns on my skillet but it was actually enough food since I didnt come in starving. So in the end, I didnt stuff myself. 😂 Lots of folks stopped to check on us. Overall it was a great dining experience, and I recommend giving it a try.

Both have been positive.4/10/2022 was their Grand Opening, and I stopped to enjoy breakfast. The staff was attentive, prompt, and knowledgeable.I ordered the Biscuits & Gravy, two eggs over easy with bacon, and a black cup of coffee. The service was prompt; the food was excellent and fast; the coffee was great.I will be back to try more entrees from the menu.Great Job, Talias Café, and the best to you.

2022-09-08After reading the great reviews I was anxious to try out this new café. If you are a regular carnivore who enjoys normal breakfast/lunch foods, I guess this might be a place for you. As a vegetarian, I am always hoping for a restaurant with least two or three dishes that could be considered vegetarian meals. I didn’t see much/any attempt at this. No veggie burger, grilled cheese sandwiches, and so forth. There was a bit of Korean influence so a kimchi pancake would have been a good dish to have on the menu.I ordered the omelette with grits. The omelette was fine especially with some of their red salsa on it, but the grits were almost cold. Husband’s chicken fried steak and eggs over easy were OK, but he said the meat was too bready and the gravy too thin/watery.Waitress was super nice and helpful. This is a standard diner w nothing much to set it apart.I almost forgot to take pictures so pardon the half eaten meals. 🤦🏼♀️
