Tandoor in other cities:
This is theeee best Indian place this far that I had. I have been craving some chicken tikka masala and naan. First time trying. I placed an order over the phone, the guy taking my order was very considerate and asked if I had any food allergy. I did a pick up and the restaurant is close to my house. Got there and seeing so many people there dining in gave me reassurance that the food is good. They offered me water while I wait for my food, so nice. They were fast and food was nice and hot (heat) got home and couldn’t wait to eat. I forgot to take pics. But everything was so good. Chicken tikka masala, basmati rice, garlic naan. So good and flavorful. I also got the samosas, which were good as well. I’ll definitely be back and a regular here. Thanks for the great customer service and awesome food, and prices were reasonable.
We feel like family when we come here. The owner, Gogan, has extraordinary hospitality and always welcomes us kindly. She even memorized my familys orders word for word from how often we come, and always makes an effort to customize the dishes to our specifications. I hope this restaurant thrives, its my most favorite Indian food out of anyone out there, hands down. 100/10
No !!. Do not eat here early. I have always been a big fan of the Tandoor. However, since Covid, they have migrated to a primarily takeout establishment. We ate here on a Friday evening around 6.00pm. Sat in our booth, while a steady stream of pick up drivers sat next to us playing on their phones and talking and playing music. Very unacceptable atmosphere. Either a restaurant or a take out. Or get curbside pickup like other top restaurants.
Honestly some of the best Indian food in Arlington. This is a family own business, and the service was 10/10. Everyone was so sweet, and took care of us. We had saag paneer, lamb curry, with garlic naan. The chai is perfect, add a little sugar if you need it. The whole meal was fantastic, and the bill was a lot less the expected. I will definitely be coming back to be a regular.
Worst Tandoor(Indian) food I ever have worst than usual buffet I order 2 malai kofta, chicken tikka tandoor, chicken saag all are so bad there is no taste at all malai kofta have rubber ball like kofta, chicken tikka have no seasoning I can’t even express how bad I feel after I open these food containers if you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine(Punjabi/North indian)plz do NOT eat in this restaurant. Hope owner will do something to fix there recipe. MEANS COMMON MAN WHAT ARE YOU SERVING
Some of the best Indian food I have in a lifetime. So delicious! So good! Went for the lunch buffet. It was hot and fresh so delightful. Had three plate fulls and still wanted more. Highly recommend it even you not in the area. Definitely worth the drive if traveling far away. You will not be disappointed. So much to offer at such a cheap price. Small place but wasn’t busy during lunch. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs.
Not the best one around town. It is not priced high but the food is average at best. Certain things like dal makhni are good. Garlic naan has weird sour yellow coating and almost like half cooked on the inside. The food isnt entirely bad but not worth a higher rating as well. They are a family run business and I wish them well, but they have numerous areas to improve.
This was my first visit to Tandoor, on a cold Saturday, fall of 2021. On a whim, I decided to see how far the closest Indian restaurant was to me and luckily enough Tandoor was less than a 20 minute drive from me. I went in for the lunch buffet but planned on taking my order to go. As you can see from the picture, my presentation of the food is not exactly the best (since I packaged my meal) but that did not take away from the flavor at all.Do yourself a favor and visit Tandoor for a flavorful meal. Ive had Indian food before in different cities so my expectations were high. I was not disappointed. I had a to go box of Chicken Tikki Masala with rice, Naan bread and and a side of chick pea soup. My meal was delicious. The one minus I have is the soup was a bit too salty for my liking but thats a personal preference. I will certainly visit again when Im in the mood for Indian food. You can dine in, place your order ahead for pickup or do what I did, walk in during the lunch buffet, grab your meal yourself and pay. The grab and go option I chose came with the option to add soup and Naan bread was included as part of my order.
The first Indian restaurant I got to experience. They wrecked my life making me an addict of saag paneer! Curses, Tandoor! Now I have to eat saag paneer at least every month or the Universe becomes akilter! Seriously great food, great buffet ... I love it! Make your life miserable as a saag paneer addict, too; good shizzizzle!
I usually do not write reviews, unless it is extraordinary or terrible. Went there today for Chicken Korma and naan. Not sure if the chef actually knew how to prepare food, or just didnt care. I didnt mind the dry chicken in comparison to doughy gravy, an absolute nightmare of a food. It was something I would eat only if I was starving for few days. When I eat outside, I know food will be slightly unhealthy. However, the food was distasteful. I ate couple of spoons, and my wife tasted some gravy. We couldnt eat more regardless of us almost starving. Our server did not even ask anything about the food, and simply took away the plates that were almost untouched. Later, my wife ordered some kulfi. It was at least edible.
Good Indian food option for foody people. A family run shop next to indian store. So u go in area order food, and by the time u complete grocery and household purchase grand food is ready to be served or take home. Paneer dishes were awesome. Biryani rice was good. limited deserts available. Nice place to eat and quite reasonably priced. On line orders are accepted. also cater for functions at home catering.
Absolutely loved the food it gave exactly what it supposed to give I wish I would have taken pictures but it was so good I couldn’t help but to dig in . I had the chicken tiki massala so good with garlic naan and my boyfriend had the chicken noorjani it was delicious and some veggie samosas 10/10 will definitely be coming back quick service as well
The food is not at all good. We specifically asked for spicy food but the curries were completely tasteless. Paneer pakora was also below average. The service was okay. But if the food is not good, then it does not make sense for anything else. Please improve the quality of your food. Also, they served a non- vegetarian appetizer to vegetarian guests. And the staff did not handle it properly. We are definitely not going back after seeing it.
First off, G( owners daughter) is amazingly friendly and provides great customer service. The food is amazing, real authentic Indian food. Saffron in the rice and cardamom! Also, it is very well priced, walked out the restaurant with 2 meals for 24 bucks! Keep up the great work G and staff.
Never disappointed. Short handed out front but the food is on point and fast and fresh. Love this place best Indian food in townCame backNo longer short handed. The staff is newer and still learning. The new server is on point. I had so much food tonight Im gonna burst. Had the Kashmiri Naan, chicken korma spicy and the chicken pakora. All tender all fresh so good
Such a wonderful restraint with an amazing staff and ownership. My mother had fallen in this restaurant and they ALL went WAY out of their way to take care of her until we were able to come get her. Thank you to all of the wonderful customers who jumped up to care and assist my mother. This is much more than a great restaraunt to eat at. They care about their customers. I cant thank them enough. Thank you again Tandoor.
So my wife and I lived in the Middle East for 2 decades and experienced some really fine Indian cuisine during that time. We finally found an Indian restaurant that rivals some of the best Indian food weve ever had. Was our fist time trying Tandoor and so glad we did. They got the spice levels perfect and their side dishes and sauces were near perfect. Cant wait for round 2 and beyond as there are so many great dishes served there.
Tandoor provides an awesome dining experience. I ordered the chicken Kadahi with rice and enjoyed the dish.Staff were nice and attentive to customers.Restaurant atmosphere: Nicely decorated and we were able to get a bigger table to accommodate a medium size group. The restrooms were nice and tidy. The last time I dined there alone, A mystery person paid for my meal. Thank you to that person! It made my day.
We live nowhere near Tandoor, but we make the twenty minute drive for it because it is so freaking tasty! As a matter of fact, this Christmas we got stuck in some line for Christmas lights while going to get our food from here, and I actually got out of the car and walked to go rescue our food! :-D It is just THAT delicious! And of course, the service is always wonderful.
Overall great experience, it tasted better than most indian restaurants that i have tried in the area. We ordered the mixed platter and dal makkhani both of which were great to taste and fresh however i did feel that the quantity of the mixed platter was less for the price they charged for it. I am comparing this wuantity to big popular american restaurant chains like cheddars, or red lobster because at the same price their dishes offer more quantity which would fill you up to the brim.Other than that everything else was great , even the naan was fresh which we had ordered. I hope the continue to serve fresh food unlike one other popular indian resturant that we had tried few days back which is popularly known as Bawarchi and has multiple chains , which served us stale food made few days back.If only the quantity was a little better i would have given it all 5 stars.Thank you for the good food.
If you havent eaten here, and youre even mildly adventurous, you should try to come by now and again. Newly remodeled, and super clean, it never disappoints. The curries are sharp, the meat tender without being overlooked, and the vegetarian and salad options are solid. Too often, Im disappointed with anything international in Arlington: its most often just good enough but not outstanding. This is just a wonderful little place so show it some love.
Its a cozy little restaurant with very amusing decor and the staff are taking precautions by wearing masks. Service is great and they check up on guests pretty frequently. Saw a lot of takeout orders being picked up too!We ordered the sampler appetizer and enjoyed their complementary bread. Not sure what it was but it was crackery and had cardamon served with a fruity red sauce and a spicier green sauce. Keep in mind you can choose how spicy you want your curries and if you want it hot be sure to let them know how hot. American spicy and Indian spicy are two different things. We ordered a vindaloo and curry with Garlic Naan and they were phenomenal. I will be going back to try their other breads especially since they actually have a tandoor oven! If you look towards the kitchen you can see the chef make the bread. I get hungry thinking about my next visit.
This is the best Indian restaurant in DFW. When I lived in Fort worth, I made the drive out here, now I live in Dallas, and I still make the drive. Gagaan and Harpal uncle are some of the nicest people ever, and are always so accommodating! They really get to know you on a personal level! Love it here!!!!!!
We loved this place. Ordered takeout and everything was well packed and labeled. It was also delicious! We had mixed grill and lamb korma and both were really yummy. I was also super glad you could choose the spice level. My favorite was the keema naan....it was so good! Portions were large too. We will definitely eat here again!
- Location of the restaurant is nice- Restaurant is quite spacious- No need of reservation- Decent place to go with friends or family- Food is also good- Ambience is okay- Buffet is affordable with adequate amount of variety- Staff is friendly- Service is also adequately fast
Ive been coming here for ten years, and for ten years every meal has been perfect. This is my favorite restaurant. The food is always delicious, the service is always friendly and efficient, and the chai is literally the best Ive ever had. I treat myself once a month and i always go home happy. I am so, so grateful for Tandoor! If you havent tried it yet, you definitely should!
I’ve been living in DFW for about 20 years. I’ve had Indian food in Richardson, Dallas, and many Irving locations but nothing is as consistently good as Tandoor. The parking is no issue. They share a lot with a Tom Thumb and several other shops. The food is fresh. You can view the nan being freshly made in a windowed room behind the buffet. I love that the food here isn’t too sweet. They got a wide variety of vegetarian and meat dishes and always offer two well made dessert choices. Like most Indian restaurants they are open for lunch buffet until 2:30 and then dinner again at 5:30. The lunch buffet is offered 7 days a week but the dinner is ordered by the plate. No buffet. This is a great place to take someone who is new to Indian cuisine. They will be sure to find something they love.
I love this place! The food tastes fresh and delicious and they have a good, but limited selection of Indian food to choose from. The choices are limited I suppose because it is a small restaurant, but the limited selection is more than made up for by how delicious the food is. I know its just bread, but the naan is noticeably better here than at other restaurants Ive visited. One other thing I love about this place is that the food isnt super spicy, which is perfect for a heat wimp like me! Im not a connoisseur of Indian cuisine, but I do love this restaurant!
This is a very nice place to eat and get some of The Taste of India. I dont remember the names of the dishes, but they were very tasty and not overly spicy where you could not enjoy the taste of the food. It is some foods that are vegetarian friendly as well as other choices for those who are not vegetarian or vegan. I went to the lunch buffet so you can get as much as you care to eat. It was reasonably priced! Love it and will come again!
I love this restaurant! They prepare first-rate food, their menu is nice, The chief cook in that restaurant is an expert, I like a lot tasting all their dishes. The food is consistently good, the attitude towards the guests is very good too. I go often to this restaurant and I not even once was unhappy. I highly recommend it.
Omgggg this place is so amazing!! We ordered delivery through favor and when it arrived to my house 15 min away it was so hot and fresh like it just came from the kitchen!! By far the best Indian food I have ever had!! I cant wait to order again next week!! I am now and forever a regular!!
After being told the wait would be about 40 minutes, I ordered paid and waited in my car. An hour later I called, the response I received did not make it clear to me if my food was ready so I went inside. The food was ready but needed to be bagged. No apology for the wait just rushed along, I literally felt invisible...learned a lesson and will never return. Id rather spend my hard earned money where I feel appreciate or at the least thanked!
This was our first time to try this Indian restaurant and we thought it was very good. I had the Tandoor chicken and my friend had a curry chicken entree. Would recommend trying their lunch buffet if you have not been here before, since there would be a wide variety of their offerings. Service was a little slow, but since we werent in a rush, that was not a problem. Would recommend.
Unfortunately, my visit wasn’t the greatest. After waiting over 50 minutes for my food, with only a group of two being there before me, and with friends of the bartender receiving their food right away (before me) … I’ve decided not to return. I wasn’t a priority by any means & was forgotten about even though I was sitting at the bar.
Amazing place with really great service. Its surprisingly cheap. The dollar symbols are the same as most places like Cheesecake Factory, which charge like 13-17$ per plate and 4$ for a drink, but this is unfair imo. The plates are around 11$ and drinks are about 1-3$ even for specialty drinks. The server was super attentive and friendly (he even rushed out to bring me my headphones I forgot!). Food was brought out fast. But the food. Oh my God it was amazing. The sauces were delicious, but what got me was the meat underneathCooked to perfection and actually seasoned.
Babes has delicious fried chicken and chicken fried steak. For the two of us, the servings are enormous. We have found out that we can picnic and enjoy Babes with just one take out dinner. We had chicken fried steak with all the sides and loved it. One half the normal serving is truly enough, money saving, and delicious. Just use your imagination as to where you will have your picnic
Never again. Bad food and bad service...Unfortunately we didnt even got past the appetizer...my friends and I just finished our first day of our flag football tournament. We were starving and craving good Indian food. We had a place close to us but we drove out to Tandoor because of the reviews. We sat down at 7:10pm and placed our order by 7:20pm. We placed about $120 order. We waited patiently for 45min and only after asking for an update, at 8:10pm, did they finally bring our appetizers, 2 orders of Tandoori shrimp. The shrimp tasted like they just heated some shrimp real quick and threw it out to us as soon as they could. It had no flavor, is an underestimate. After watching couples and larger groups receiving their food they ordered after us, at 8:20pm, we paid for our appetizers and walked out...
Weve eaten at or ordered from Tandoor at least twice a month for the last 20 years. This is our favorite restaurant - the food is great and the people are friendly. I travel a lot for business and have eaten at Indian restaurants across the nation. I have yet to find any that beat this one.
The food was delicious and they have a diverse menu. It was by far the best Indian restaurant Ive ever been to. The staff were on top of everything, and I never had a glass of water that was less than half empty. The VEGAN options were great too. The have alot vegetarian options, but they also have vegan options...no animal products in some of the dishes.
I love this place. The food is so good and very flavorful. Not sure why they get bad reviews. The staff is always extremely nice and on top of things. They never let my water get below half and clear your plates fast. The selection isnt huge but it is enough. Definitely recommend.
Everything Ive tried here is really good and authentic. I have tried the chicken tikka masala, chicken gobi, fish curry, aloo gobi, and all of their paneers. The prices are also reasonable for an Indian restaurant. Ive been to other Indian restaurants in DFW but always come back to this one. They had one of the best buffets in North Texas but due to Covid they had to stop it. Ill still keep coming here for dine in and take out. If you want to try Indian food come to this place and you wont be disappointed!
I and my family have been coming to Tandoor for about 15 years. The food is always amazing! The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a great lunch buffet where you can try different things if you are new to Indian cusine. If you havent been to Tandoor, you really should!
This was my first time trying Indian food. The atmosphere was chill and family friendly. I loved the big window where you could watch the cook at work. I was delighted at the wide variety of vegetarian options. My friend got the lamb curry and loved it. The bread was flavorful and perfectly cooked. We enjoyed the whole meal. We will definitely be going back.
I have been going to this restaurant off and on since 1996. They have been consistent and their lunch buffet for the price is just astonishing. Sometimes I also order take out in the evenings. Their service and food has always been positive. I highly recommend this place.
To be clear, I have eaten their food several times but never dined in (not that I think that matters, but wanted to share). I found them through DoorDash, they had good reviews, so I ordered. My husband had never had Indian food (and it is one of my faves). Tandoor was his first experience, and he was hooked. The flavors are full and consistent. Their meat portions are plentiful, and he even had leftovers (which doesnt happen for him...lol). They are worth the try!
My family has been going here for 4 years. The food is always delicious and it is fun to try something new every visit. We love the staff, who are very kind and knowledgeable, and always glad to see us. Just thinking about the Navrattan Korma makes my mouth water. Yum!
The butter chicken is very creamy and light colored. (Which is weird to me and tastes bland) I have tried many dishes here and the food does not reflect the atmosphere and theme considering the variety of possible Indian dishes. This may be purposeful, considering their statement on the menu highlighting the moghul inspiration. Be prepared for a limited experience focused on one specific style of cooking. (Its tasteless compared to almost any other Indian food.)
I cant begin to describe to you how much I love this place. The owners and staff are the most amazing people in the world that could be amassed in one building, at the same time, like the Culinary Avengers. You can sense their awesomeness as soon as you walk up to the door. Dont worry about spending too much money, because even though you would be willing to sell all of your assets and drain your back account for one bite of their chicken tikka masala, you dont need to go to the trouble. Their prices are very reasonable and the portions are very large. If youre looking to try different menu items, I recommend the buffet on the weekends. Give yourself a two hour nap window when youre done, because I promise, you will experience the best food coma of your life. Go hungry and with an open mind. You will love this place and if you dont, then we cant be best friends. Ill still say Hi to you and be cordial, but we would both know that it would never work out.
We went in for the lunch buffet. The service was great, servers very attentive with drinks and picking up plates. The food, while tasty, was less spicy then we expected and felt watered down for the community it is in. Granted theyve been open for a long time so they must know what they are doing, but if we return itll probably be to try regular dinner service instead.

2022-06-08First time here and it was an ok experience. Food didn’t taste fresh or quality for me. The flavors were not my favorite. For a buffet style there are only a few options to choose from, not enough variety. Prices are ok.

2022-02-26I really liked their curry options but their Mughalai biryani isn’t mughalai biryani at all it’s not even a traditional biryani. I have been to India several times and have knowledge about all the biryanis found in the subcontinent but this biryani was Americanized biryani. As y’all can see in the pics that I uploaded below the rice in biryani was overcooked and meat was embedded with tomato texture in taste.Gangan (owner) was super polite and addressed my issue really well by providing me a replacement on the biryani. Their staff is very energetic and would never take much time to take your order as soon as you arrive. The theme of the restaurant is pretty amazing and very rare in itself especially the Turkic-Persian styled paintings, ladies in saris and mini arches reminding the peak of Indian civilization during the 15th- early 18th century. The green lighting with a deep wall paint reminds me of the parts of India that I have visited. The true essence of the Punjabi culture could be found pretty well here in most of the options that I have tried. They have an excellent korma and a really good chicken tikka masala options. Their naan has got a very high quality taste and it gives you an amazing feel when you dip it into the korma.Honestly after trying them for almost a week now I can rate them as one of the best Ind/Pak restaurants in the Texas and undoubtedly best in Arlington and nearby areas as far as their quality & service goes.Looking forward to having more options in their menu including the mustard soup with real countryside bread (Sursu saag with Indian pita).

2022-06-19First time here. Its one of my sons favoriterestaurants and he highly recommended it. Indian cuisine is different and more spicy than I expected. It was very flavorful and the servings were generous. I want to go back and try a few other menu items. I did enjoy the iced chai tea. The lentil soup was quite tasty. I cant remember exactly what I ordered, but I would recommend this family owned restaurant for their authenticity of food and flavors!Another visit for my sons birthday dinner. Again, we enjoyed the authentic dishes with their superb flavoring. You are served with plenty when you eat here! I added pics and will try to get the names correct on the dishes we had!

2022-04-24Myself and 2 friends wanted to try Indian food for the first time and I am so glad we chose Tandoor to be that first experience. Jennifer was extremely helpful in explaining how Indian food is prepared, what to expect with the dishes we ordered, and even brought us some other options to try. The staff here was on point, we never had an empty glass. They were so polite an hospitable that I felt like I was eating at their home. The food itself was the most flavorful dish Ive eaten in years. We cant wait to go back and try more.

2022-05-08I absolutely LOVE this Indian Restaurant! The staff is always super kind. The food is super yummy. I extremely suggest the vegetable samosas. My husbands family has been coming here since before he was born, and we have kept the tradition alive by continuing to eat here. Through 3 generations (his parents, he and his brother, and he and his brothers kids) we have always had a wonderful experience eating here!

2021-08-21First time for Indian food and definitely not disappointed!! Very good food. Had the buffet and tried many different items.Didnt take any stars off for having absolutely no waiting staff wait on us at all. We received water and silverware from young man that set us. When another couple (must have be there before) went to buffet we got up and went too. Never had anyone ask if food was good, drink order taken was never taken and at end plates were taken and bill given.

2021-08-23My wife and I decided to start a tradition and go to new restaurants every other week. First place was Tandoor Indian cuisine on Fielder and Randall Mill. Waitress was so helpful and recommended dishes for us to try, she was wonderful, very sweet and very personable!! Was a great place to eat!!!! Wonderful food!!! I told her she know so much about the dishes to recommend them, she said she was the owner!! They were constantly walking around to refill your glass. Service was the best Ive experienced in a long time!!!!
