Got chicken drunken noodles to go and it was incredibly disappointing. The dish was not flavorful enough and it did not have the right vegetables that would normally go with this Thai dish. I also think $14 for this meal was kinda pricey for a Thai restaurant in that neighborhood.
Appetizer was good, pad Thai was great, mango sticky rice was awesome. Great service. Nothing bad and would recommend bc Ioved it.BUTT VERY EXPENSIVE! I wont be going back. Ive only tried Tara Thai once, but I wont be going back. Ive never been to Thailand or anything, but Ive eaten at several Thai restaurants in several states in the US. My Pad Thai here was just...boring. Little flavor, no variety in texture (it lacked the usual bean sprouts or green onion), and just not what Ive come to expect and love about the dish from other places.
This place rocks! Ally and Chef work together to please the customer. Ive been eating out from here for several months and you can not beat the service, friendliness or atmosphere ( I have yet to eat in - but I am looking forward to it). I for this meal, I asked Ally to request from chef to swap the egg noodle for wide noodle on the Pad Bamee and Ive been hooked on the dumplings since I tried them the first time - THEY ROCKED IT!!! If you miss Thai food from the motherland, Tara Thai IS like the motherland. Thanks so much Ally and Chef!
Delicious and flavorful food! There was only one waitress on a Saturday night, which I couldnt understand, but she managed well. Just be prepared to wait for your food so dont go when youre starving, lol.
This restaurant earns a star for being one of the only thai places in El Paso. The food took over an hour to reach our table. We were only served one drink during our extended wait. This was not due to the waitress fault as the owners clearly understaff both the front and back of the house. The menus have gone from detailed books in the past to simple computer print outs. The food is overpriced for the quality. I am disappointed
Salad was very good, ordered two main menu and both of them were delicious. Waitress was very helpful, patient and very kind.
This place has great food!! I miss my Thai restaurant back in Alaska and this definitely comes close. The drunken noodles are yummy and so is the Thai tea. My sister loved the mango sticky rice and chicken curry as well.

This place is very authentic Thai Food! I have had Thai food in many of the big cities and this little spot in El Paso is right up there with the best of the best! I had the Thai Street Chicken with Medium Spice and it was INCREDIBLE. It had me sweating, but I like spicy food. The price was a bit high for dinner plates, but definitely worth it. The restaurant was clean and service was great. Overall, I would definitely recommend if you are in the mood for good Thai food!
I ordered the steamed dumplings, fresh rolls & Thai beef noodle soup. Everything was super tasty and great portions. Highly recommend 👍(theres a roll & dumpling missing in the pic because I was too excited to eat first lol)
Great things take time. Remember: at this restaurant food is made from scratch. It may take longer to get, but it is worth the wait. I had the chicken salad and my wife had the pineapple curry with chicken. We were both happy and we’ll come back!
I really liked the curries; I had the chicken & my hubby had the seafood curry. But was not a fan of the chicken satay starter.
Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles were both very good. The waitress was attentive. I do believe that they should warn customers about parking next door. Although lot next door was vacant and there is a vague sign (the sign just states for customers), it does not clarify which businesses the lot is specifically for. The booting company is Safety, Security, and Control Parking. We witnessed Safety, Security, and Control Parking booting two other customers within minutes of the customers walking from their car into Tara Thai.

The Drunken Noodles were good. I recommend medium if you like hot, but not stupid hot. Also recommend adding egg to the Drunken Noodles. (Pictures is Drunken Noodle).
This the best Thai spot in El Paso . I eat at a lot of authentic Thai places & they come the closest , i just recommend adding extra sauce to your order . Pad See ew beef my favorite dish
My husband and I decided to come here last minute and I am glad we did! What a great experience we had for our impromptu day date. The outside isn’t super appealing or welcoming but this restaurant makes up for that with the very friendly and attentive staff, delicious food and affordability. We got 2 appetizers which were both delicious. Try the fried tofu and dumplings. I also got the pad Thai which was pretty yummy. My husband got the curry fried rice. And we finished off with fried bananas which where a perfect finish! Wish I would’ve taken pictures but our plates were empty lol This restaurant has a relaxing atmosphere and we will definitely be coming back.
From the outside, this place is very unassuming and the inside very simple but comfortable.We arrived around 1:37 pm on a Tuesday afternoon so if there was a lunch rush it had already passed. Only one waitress who was very attentive and quick to supply you with whatever you needed. So the service was great.We ordered the coconut soup, drunken noodles and parang curry. All the food was very good although I wasnt really a fan of the chicken that they use. I think next time I will try the tofu with the drunken noodles and see how that turns out. Also, their Thai ice teas are very refreshing.I definitely recommend and will go back to try their other dishes. 😋
I would not recommend this place due to its inconsistency in food preparation. Its owned by the same person as Thai Chef Cafe on Dyer but that location has the better chef. The staff here is rude and the restaurant doesnt cater to food allergies or preferences so its kind of a luck of the draw what you will get versus what they show you on their website. If they do mess up your food, they blame you and will try to charge you for it. When you ask to speak with the manager, they will never come out. Luckily more people are opening Thai restaurants in El Paso finally and those places care more about customer retention. ***My apologies the second picture was of how the panang Chicken was supposed to look like according to their website not the first time they brought it out.***
If you are ever in El Paso. You really need to stop into the tie kitchen it is absolutely phenomenal. The flavors will burst in your mouth you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is very nice cozy not too noisy and in a good location. I definitely would recommend it and when I come to visit again I will stop there

Absolutely the best Thai restaurant with the greatest waitresses in town! Chef prepares everything hot and fresh! We enjoy coming here and eating! Highly recommended. When family and friends come from out of town this is where we take them! They never disappoint
Went there with a few friends. We were seated promptly and the servers were polite. The food took a while to prepare considering we were the only ones there. I got the sushi and it wasnt that great. Ive had much better sushi at other places. Probably would not come back again.
This is my favorite Thai place. They have the best tasting Thai food in the region, hands down. Ive lived in many different states, and none of the Thai food has ever come close to this. I even brought my friend who did work in Thailand to get takeout once, and he agreed its the best Thai he has ever had outside of Thailand. Ive had the tofu pad thai mild, also enjoyed the penang curry medium spicy. The Thai iced teas are on point. I cannot wait to return.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in EP at this point! The food is amazing and the waitresses are incredibly sweet! Ask them what they recommend and you truly can’t go wrong with whatever you end up ordering !
I came in for a pick up order and was met with the most amazing customer service. Not sure what the name of the girl was who first took my order over the phone, but she had such an upbeat and friendly approach throughout the entire transaction from beginning to end. Thai tea and pad see ew were amazing!
Great food and wonderful staff! I ordered the Tom Yom soup and the chicken vegetable dish. Both were absolutely delicious and not overly salty like some other restaurants. They were busy at lunchtime so if you only have a quick half hour lunch, it may be wise to order to go. Samantha was the only server and she was awesome!
My first visit was amazing. Prices are decent. Second visit was borderline unpleasant. We were very much, not a priority. They had a large group and our food took exceptionally long to reach our table. Afterward to get the attention of one of the two waitresses caring for mostly the large group was near impossible. Both the food and service the second time were unexceptional. We tried just recently a to go order. The food was not as we ordered and the chicken wrap was near flavourless. It’s unfortunate because our first visit was amazing. The decline in food quality and service is a disappointment
Absolutely my favorite place to eat out at. Authentic Thai food and customer service is always on point! Absolutely love Ally she’s a sweetheart! My favorite part of coming here is they cater to everyone’s diet! From being vegan , vegetarian, pescatarian and meat eaters! My whole family absolutely love coming here! Where we all can enjoy our favorites!
An absolute hidden gem. The drunken noodles were just right, they were excellent. The pad see ew was also very good and had some really solid flavors. The Curried Rice had smaller portions but you could really taste the fragrance of the curry. Worth the wait!
Worth the wait!!! This was my first time here. There was only one server (Allyson) and she was AWESOME! Ran the whole operation smoothly with a full dining room! She was very sweet and was very professional even with some customer who was complaining about the wait and making a fool of himself. Food was incredibly tasty and fresh. Will most definitely stop by again. Highly recommend!
Excellent food but even more impressive was Allyson, our hostess, waitress and cashier. Somehow she juggled the lunch crowd all by herself. In an era when people have become used to receiving handouts from Uncle Sam, Allyson’s impeccable work ethic stands out. I hope Tara Thai realizes what a remarkable employee they have.
We are giving 2 stars because the waitress was really nice & we got seated immediately (but we were the only ones in there) & this was around dinner time…an empty dining room during dinner time is never a good sign lol. Where do I even begin…the 4.5 star rating is very confusing. Out of all the Thai restaurants I have been to, this place takes the win. The win for the most horrible experience I’ve ever had in my life. After craving Thai food for months, we decided to try this place out. This place was the first Thai restaurant we wanted to try since moving to El Paso from California. After all, the reviews looked decent…anyways. We were greeted by a friendly waitress once entered. We sat down & about 10 mins later she took our order. We ordered the chicken satay for an appetizer & I ordered the Chicken Pad See Ew & my partner ordered the crispy basil chicken. After about 45 minutes, the apps finally came out…Never have I waited that long being the only patrons in room lol! Then we waited an addition 30 mins for our main dishes to come out…I understand the Togo orders were a bit busy but come on, you can’t have paid customers wait a long time if there’s no one else seated! It doesn’t end there, my Pad see ew was sooo bland & the noodles were still clumped together & there was hardly any vegetables. I was appalled that this simple dish can even be messed up…it’s almost equivalent to cooking fried rice lol. Oh & my partners crispy basil chicken dish looked more like soggy basil soap. It was soaked in the sauce. We definitely will never go back & hope someone that’s looking to try this place out for the first time will really consider the low star reviews, cause they weren’t lying !! The food was over priced. I’m more upset I wasted my time when I could’ve gone & had some damn don cucos. Lol
We have been here twice in the last 2 weeks and they always leave us wanting to come back. Our waitress who always greets you with her friendliness, has made our experience even more enjoyable along with the DELICIOUS food.Dont miss out on trying their Thai Tea, steamed, home made dumplings, the Pad Thai and the Spring Rolls.We’ll be back soon!
“egg rolls” (that’s what the waitress called the fried spring rolls)which arrived completely burnt. The restaurant is under staffed which set the stage for a completely unenjoyable dining experience. The waitress was overworked. She was answering the phone which didn’t stop ringing, taking take out orders, getting them for the customers, chatting with them (polite) loudly, and cleaning tables on top of being the only waitress. So she took on the role of hostess, bus boy and waitress...needless to say the service / ambiance was horrible . (Tables were left dirty until customers arrived) She was very loud and messed up our order. My son’s curry dish was overly spicy 🥵 while mine was under spicy when we both ordered medium. My husband ordered his soup Thai Spicy and drank it like water. (Not spicy at all) My other son ordered trio soup and there was one shrimp and a broken meatball with a clump of noodles. WAY overpriced for the horrible service and ambiance. Food could’ve been good if it wasn’t burnt, correctly spiced and arrived on time; my food was delivered after the other three members in my party were almost finished. Horrible dining experience.
Their roti is SWEET!!! How is that authentic ?The som tom is cringingly sour !!! The green sauce is also sweet ( what the f...) I paid $ 25 for all that , very small portions too . My point is its not palatable, very expensive , a bad semblance of Thai food but I dump it all in the trash . Does the the cook just wants us to patronize Mexican being in the border ? I would have rated ZERO ,but for the nice wait staff
Great service and great food!! Loved the quiet atmosphere. Pad Thai and Thai tea were so yummy 😋 would definitely recommend and come back for more!! Servings are very generous as well!!

2021-12-07Great authentic Thai food. I love Thai fried rice. It has a unique flavor so much different than Chinese, Korean or Japanese fried rice. It’s hard to find that authentic flavor but I’m so happy I found it here. All of the appetizers are amazing as well. Very comfortable setting too. Jazz music does throw me off and makes me feel like I should be at an Italian restaurant. Parking lot sucks too. All that aside, I think it’s it’s worth it coming to Tara Thai.

2022-03-20The food was good but the portions where a little small. Especially the seafood ones. We waited an hour for our food but with such limited staff I understand waitress handled her job by herself but you could tell they need another person at least for diners. Flavor where great. But again a little expensive for the portion sizes and the price being asked. But hey thats inflation for you.

2022-01-24Bad experience. Lunch took about 25mins to be served after we ordered. Small portion. Had the Cashew Nut Chicken. Food was tasty but not much of it. Asked for some more rice since only came with about a tablespoon full. Gave up after 10 more minutes of waiting. Asked to pay wanted to charge me for the extra rice that had never come. Removed that from receipt. I got bill and then when paid they added a credit card fee. No where was that mentioned beforehand.Would never go back. I love Thai food and have been to many all across the country. This one sucks!

2022-01-29The server was friendly though its obvious she is overworked and doing everything herself. I really wanted to love this place because Thai cuisine is one of my faves, but the food itself is not very authentic, not very flavorful, and takes forever. My pick-up order took about an hour when I was quoted 35-40 minutes. The portions are tiny. Both noodle dishes barely had any sauce, protein, or vegetables. The beef in our panang was gray, as if it had been boiled; the curry itself was very thin, and tasted watered down. Everything was underwhelming, sadly.I understand that restaurants are totally different after the pandemic. But I dont like to be greeted with silly signs telling me to be patient or that they could refuse service. Its tacky. The fact remains that if you dont have staff, restaurants must think outside of the box and make it work when its failing.

2022-04-23I like the food from this place, the fact that it’s so distinct from any Asian flavors in El Paso encouraged me to continue visiting. My daughter and I ordered the cashew nut entree. It was aromatic and flavorful. The cashews were a bit scarce, but the few I got were crunchy and complimented the dish very well. On another note, the veggies were perfectly cooked and so was the tofu. However, the reason I am giving a three star review is because, I was charged to do some substitutes on my meal, for example the dish is originally served with chicken but I ordered tofu instead, my daughter requested noodles instead of rice and I was charged about $2 to pay with a card plus tip. I don’t mind paying for what I order, the issue is that it took me by surprise when I got the bill. The waitress didn’t even tell me that I’d be charged to substitute ingredients. In summary, with 15% tip and all the other charges I ended paying $57 for a lunch for two. The ambience is okay but the place is not that clean. I feel that for what I paid I could have gone to a higher end restaurant instead and have a better experience.

2022-02-15Best Thai food!! Me and my wife used to live in Jersey before moving to Texas and we always missed good Thai food. We were so glad we found this place. The food was delicious, service was exemplary and rh ambience was rejuvenating. They catered to our vegetarian preference which was an added bonus

2022-01-21I ordered a dish and stressed not spicy. When picked up the order it was extremely spicy. It was almost closing time when I got home. I called and manager said theyd replace it. When I showed up to tge restaurant and reminded them, they treated me terribly. Made me wait excessively for my order and didnt replace it. Cook/owner was totally unfriendly as if she looks down on her customers. Made me wait almost 1hr for my food and had to pay first as if I was stealing something from her.
