Tarpley Music in other cities:
Ive been going to Tarpleys for a long time. Ive shopped other stores and have always come back to give my business to them. Thier prices are competitive, employees friendly and knowledgeable, and theyve been around for near a hundred years. They have quality instruments, and equipment at affordable prices, usually cheaper than other national chains.I really feel that they are in business because they love music and want to help other music lovers. They really try to meet the needs of the community they serve.
David and his staff have always been very attentive to my wife’s guitar and general music needs. I could not ask for better service. Locally owned and operated. Just good old handshake type business the way it used to be. We won’t consider the big box stores where it’s only about the money.
I have shopped at Tarpley/Tolzien my entire life and believe in supporting local business but it is getting very difficult to do. I was in Tarpleys twice this week for 2 different items. Early in the week I stopped in and and Andrew greeted me immediately and asked me what he could help with. I was looking for a particular guitar and he was very helpful. They ended up not having exactly what I needed and he offered to help me get it ordered. Thumbs up for Andrew! Today I stopped in to browse acoustic amps and there were 4 employees(?) up front. One at the register and 3 people at the guitar tech counter . They all saw me walk past them. No greeting. I went to the guitars section and browsed around thinking someone would eventually come see if I needed anything. The 3 people at the guitar tech counter were laughing and joking and having a great time. After 15 minutes I walked out without even a thanks for coming in from anybody that worked there. Seems like a great place to work. Laugh and have fun and dont help any customers. People like Andrew keep me coming back. People like the other 3 will keep me away.
I have seen tarpleys an never had visited, my thougjt of this place, at first glance was these are probly some higher society people an I just wont blend in, That was judgemental of me An i say sorry for that, as soon as I walked in not even 30 secs i was greeted an made conversation with àn led to the right guys to help me ,they got cool stuff@! are cool also regardless of skin color,,in this day an age that means alot..i dont ikow much about music , from wht i seen Tarpleys knows musiç an fœ I wana say thañks for your profesionalisim
Changing my review because Tarpleys went out of their way and contacted me to try and fix the issue I had with them. They called me and offered to replace my shirt, capo, and strings. I am out of town until Monday so I’m unable to come and grab them right now, but there must have been some sort of mix up because you said that the lady put my shirt and capo into an accessory section of my guitar case, but the thing is, is that my guitar case does not have any sort of accessory section to put things into. So my guess is that maybe she put it into the wrong case, but I took a video to prove that my case does not have an accessory section in it. But anyways, I am very appreciative of Tarpleys for going out of their way to try and fix the issue. It’s shows good business practices, and that they’re willing to go above and beyond to keep their customers happy.
Ive been coming to this plase sence 1974, always courteous and well informed. Sorry to say Bill is no longer with us, but the family has kept up the same caliber of service that Bill had and if they dont have what you need they will go out of there way to get it, or let you know where you can. They also rent equipment for school bands, and give lessons for beginners to pros.

2022-04-27Tarpley has been serving my familys music instrument needs for about 15 years, and every location with which weve done business is expertly staffed by contientious, dedicated professionals. These musicians deal with band moms, yall, and we can be a demanding customer group at times.I trust my guitars to the techs at Tarpley because I am a giant chicken who wont even change her own strings! But I like knowing Im helping to pad the pockets of these home grown musicians, too.If you need band instruments for your budding Jr. High marching band student, or you want to upgrade your guitar, they have the expertise to start you on a solid path.Try local. The conglomerate big stores may have more extensive choices, but Tarpley can get you what you need and deliver a more personalized after market service as well.

2021-08-28The staff are always polite and helpful! On our latest visit, they were super busy with the back-to-school crowd. The staff still provided everyone with outstanding customer service. This is THE place in the Texas Panhandle for all your instruments needs.

2021-06-19Great customer service as always. They rearranged since last time I was there, but it was nice. No more island in the middle. It felt a lot more open. Sadly they didnt stock the brand of instrument I wanted anymore so I settled, but thats just a personal thing.

2021-01-04They had the electric guitar we were looking for at the right price. We were in and out quickly and able to support a local store without having to wait for shipping from Amazon for the same price. They also follow CDC guidelines, another plus!

2020-12-14Local favorites!!! Great people to do business with. I’ve done business with them since the 70’s. They match prices. I’m glad to pay state tax to keep them open for the great after the sale support by local long-time friends.

2021-04-26I have been going to these guys since I was just starting out when I was only 10 yr old. Unfortunately they closed their doors in Pampa, Tx quite a few years back, but the experiences I hold onto throughout my journey makes me happy that this Family owned joint has not subcombed to the corporate machine.
