Trying some bbq in Texas is a must for visitors.. The state of Texas has some of the best bbq in the United States, if not the world.. This Texas Best Smokehouse is about average.. The food is ok, but I cant say its the best in the whole state.. Several options are available to fit your hunger needs..The restaurant has a great set-up for the family, and that Texas traditional vibe.. If the food quality was just alittle better(tastier), maybe this would be Texas Best Smokehouse.. The ambience makes this a cool place to stop by.. Bathrooms are pretty clean, and kept up.. Overall I think its worth your time for a visit..
It was pretty darn good, it was my first experience wirh Texas BBQ and fried pies. Growing up in Kansas City it was weird eating BBQ without sauce but the ribs were delicious. I had a peach fried pie and it was delicious. The staff was very hospitable and kind as well.
Only in Texas will you find a Texas Smokehouse and truck stop in one building! Limited parking in back for semis. 4 diesel w/def fuel aisle. Nice inside! Bathrooms needed to be cleaned.
I love the breakfast burritos! Especially with brisket, but it’s hit or miss every morning whether the service is good or terrible. One time there was a two person team of ladies that were super fast and amazingly helpful. Every other time the cashier doesn’t care and purposely left out my salsa. I saw her look in the bag and she gave me a smirk, which was odd, but I assumed that the salsa was there. By the time I get to work I realize there was no salsa which is one of my favorite parts. I think she’s a manager or lead kitchen staff in the morning but many cashiers constantly have an attitude for no reason. I love the food but can’t stand the staff most of the time.
Great tasting BBQ. A little pricey but worth it. This is a travel center/truck stop limited truck parking that fills up fast. The staff is “Texas” friendly and makes you feel welcome. Clean restrooms, there is also a Sonic inside. Overall a fun little stop. One of my favorites

Worst customer service for a truck stop type setting they dont pay attention to the diesel side leave you waiting .for service and after service breakfast is not option scrambled eggs or nothing on the eggs side .
Pulled pork and bbq here is good. I really like their greens as well. Kind of a big place in a gas station, but it doesnt taste like cheap, gas station food.
Only stop here if you like pulled pork thats all fat and brisket thats burned. Had to go to the restrooms to get napkins.
3 meat combo add drink $26. Dine in.The sliced brisket was sliced with the grain from the point. I couldnt eat it. When I took it back and explained that they sliced it wrong.I was told that it was because their brisket is so tender that was the only way. I explained that the point of the brisket should be used for chopped not sliced. The flat of the brisket should be used for sliced. They said nothing and offered no remedy. I left it there not to return.The restaurants grease trap runs over and into the parking lot and pools in truck parking.....filthy.
If you want to spend $9 on a meal and not smile afterwards, go somewhere else. If you dont mind spending a little more for something that puts a smile on your face, I recommend you treat yourself to a meal here. I spent $18.62 on just myself, but I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I will stop again sometime. :-) *update* I had the spaghetti chicken special tonight and it was delicious and under $10 total! Try it on Sunday or Tuesday with a roll or cornbread and 2 sides with a drink! Recommended. :-)
Stopped in for a fountain drink, $2.91 for a large. This is not BOSTON, ITS EAST TEXAS!!!Avoid this place at all coast..THEY WILL RIP YOU OFFFFF.
Today’s visit was very disappointing. The servers didn’t know what was in the vegetable dishes. One was rude and the broccoli salad didn’t taste like normal. It had an extreme amount of salt in it.

Cant beat the best BBQ tasting.. one of my favorite is seasonal potatoes delicious along with macaroni and cheese hmm. My favorite to eat number 1# stop as Im traveling in Texas that cannot be beaten.
Weird saying this about gas station bbq, but this place has been fantastic for years.
Meat was good except for the bones in my chicken sandwich. Employees were more concerned with voicing how understaffed they are than actually taking care of the customer. One guy was standing around after taking orders while one guy was making all the sandwiches. I understand him standing around if there were more people in line and he had to take more orders, but I was last in line and stood for almost 15 mins while one guy was making all the sandwiches.
I bought ¼ dark chicken was no edible, smelled like dog food hard and dry.

I absolutely love their chopped beef sandwiches! They always have a variety of sides to choose from and Ive not ordered anything that I wasnt pleased with. The only suggestion I could make, and this had nothing to do with the taste of the food, instead of taking sausage patties and breaking them in half for the breakfast burritos, scramble some up so you can line it out and have a little bit in every bite and not most of the burrito with everything but meat! But I love thos restaurant.

The employees talk to each other and paid little attention to us. As we ordered breakfast and then I ask if I could get a breakfast toast. They gave me a funny look. But I would think they would have better customer service skills but i guess not.
I do not like barbecue sauce on my meats which was a plus. The ribs were falling off the bones yet lacking in taste.
LOVE their beef jerky that the sell at the counter!! Nice that they will let you sample before you buy!!!I have also had their egg salad sandwich which was very tasty and a ham sandwich and chopped beef that were really good too.The staff has always been friendly and helpful when I have had any questions!I love this place!!!

I stopped by wanting some BBQ and got the 2 meat plate with chicken and sausage and not only was it $20 with a tea but the chicken was so dry they don’t make enough BBQ sauce to help it! Luckily the sausage was edible but my 2 sides went in the trash along with the chicken! Never again!

Officially the food was excellent I had a two meat with sliced brisket and sausage. The only problem was that most places I have been to the brisket is sliced cross grain,Here they have shredded brisket instead of sliced, I guess you have to request cross-grain.
The food is great, no doubt, but the service is slow and you often stand in line 10 to 15 minutes just to find out they’re sold out of the food you wanna order. This place needs to get some signs up to list what they sold out of so you don’t waste your time. They also scrape off all the exterior fat and seasoning rub of the brisket, So it’s often and dry and flavorless

Most of the time I’d give it 5 stars, but tonight I walked in at 9:30, they close at 10. All they had was lasagna, sausage, and chicken. All the sides were put up. Why be open if you’re not serving the menu? Close at 9:30 if that’s when you guys wanna put food up!
One stop for all and trucking parking in the back which was awesome! The food was good I got the ribs mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole. The smoked ribs were delicious! I loved the women restroom nice and clean. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Im an over the road trucker from Ft Worth. I thought the food was OK and wanted to make this a regular stop. I bought 45.00 worth of food but was double billed. I have texted screen shots to the manager. Its taken a week and multiple.phone calls only to be promised a call from the GM, Amir. He still hasnt called me or refunded my money. At this point Im doubting if I ever want to stop here againUPDATE. He called back later than same day promising to follow up the next morning and make it right. His promise to call me back and his commitment to correct this were both lies. I change my rating to ZERO
Being a truck stop food snob, I was totally impressed with this great little find. Absolutely delicious BBQ. The ribs were so tender that they fell off the bone and were perfectly seasoned on the outside. They had the perfect fat to meat ratio for fantastic flavor. The sausage sandwich was also delicious. We had the regular sausage and it had a wonderful spice to it. A little BBQ sauce was all you needed. Id plan to eat here again for sure!
Ive been here 2 times 2 years apart. Both times were excellent. The BBQ great, sauce great and the service is exceptional. I believe he is the manager/owner there but you can tell he loves his job. I distinctly remember his from the first time 2 years ago. The last time my wife and I got the loaded baked potato. Definitely recommend.
I agree it is a nice place to stop but I do have a few complaints. The bathrooms are usually dirty and smell terrible. The staff is always friendly but the food is mediocre and over priced. Well actually everything there seems over priced. I work In the area and stop quite regularly so I hope someone actually reads this and takes a look at my remarks. Those of us who try to live a healthier life style would also appreciate a more friendly, low carb choice.J/S...
The staff was professional and friendly! They were kind, helpful, and good conversationalists. My kiddo ordered mac n cheese (it looks amazing), roasted potatoes, and blackberry cobbler. She is chowing down. She says the potatoes are amazing!I always enjoy shopping here even though Im a local.

It is nothing to awesome about this place. But fast food BBQ food that they sell to the traveling person. If anything they should take pride into this food and make it tasteful so folks who stop by to eat this food can leave with a great taste of East Texas. But it is average food. Could use improvement. Prices as well are little to much, the BBQ joint down the road that is ranked #4 in the state, their prices are much more better.
Where to begin with this place. First time I ever stopped, I thought the lovely smoke smell was gonna carry me away. The beef jerky is the best. If you arent sure you will like it, they will let you try it. And I have yet to be disappointed. Lots of little places inside whether you want lunch or just want something for dessert. Friendly staff always. If Im traveling through, I always make a point to stop.
Fried pies!!! Yum. I bought 3 dozen for my family. The sweet cook (Cristina) custom made 4 of them for me. Omg. Amazing!
I was pretty disappointed with the quality of food here. I ordered a biscuit with eggs and one choice of meat. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich with eggs, meat and cheese on toast. I ordered grits and breakfast potatoes. I am pretty accepting when it comes to food but this was probably the worse I’ve experienced. Everything tasted old and the potatoes were rock hard. I do not recommend this place for breakfast.

Omg the food is soo delicious & they give good portions also. Truck parking out back but fills up quickly, fuel also... Treat yourself you deserve it... I got the half rack of baby back with two sides and sweet tea, I ate there and still had some to take home with a full stomach. Had to take a nap after.. :), friendly service, check out different samples.
PLEASE SEE UPDATE BELOW. I really liked this place,......... they have good food, but their BBQ is not all that. No smoke ring and tastes more like it was done in the oven in a water bath then low and slow on a smoker. But if you want good food with excellent customer service, this is your place.11.27.2017Two nights in a row I was served cold food that was suppose to be hot. Since I didnt know how long it had been off temp, it went to the dog. $30 worth of food to the dogI spoke to the manager about it tonight and was told she would talk to her crew and make sure they didnt turn off the steam accidentally in the future. No offer to reimburse for the previous meals or even tonights meal. With that attitude, I wont be back and have down graded my review to reflect their haphazard care of the dining public.
There service was great there food even thou it was almost closing time tasted and look so fresh and they was so kind and look happy to serve me even thou it was Easter and they could of choose to stay home but they choose to come serve people

Exit 596.. Longview. We found this great place to stop while traveling HWY 20. On the W bound side. Very clean gas station, convenience store, gift shop, fried pies and other desserts, Sonic and the Texas Best Smokehouse- Smoked meats and fixings. I was very impressed with the large portion of succulent, smoked chopped pork. Sides were fresh and delicious. I got the slaw and the broccoli salad. But it was a tough decision because everything looked so delicious and fresh. The bathrooms were beautiful and spotless. Each stall had a hand sanitizer dispenser. Soap dispensers at the sinks were full also. Hand sanitizer at every register also on the convenience store side. A sink basin with soap and paper towels on the restaurant side by the coffee station. The sauce bar has the bbq sauce to satisfy whether you want smoky sweet or smoky and 🥵 hot!
We stopped to try lunch today as we always get our gas here when passing through. They use styrofoam plates and the plate broke apart as I was walking to the table. Food hit the floor and it was a huge mess. A very nice gentleman suggested that they give me a new lunch since their plate broke, The lady at the counter didnt agree so he bought me a sandwich. I thank him for his kindness. The food was okay but not great so I wont be back.
Super nice, clean place to stop and get a bite to eat, grab snack food from store or for a bathroom break. They also have gift items in the store. The food that is there is barbecue and a Sonic. I have never eaten the barbecue but have heard positive comments from friends who have stopped and eaten here. We grabbed some Sonic food last trip through and all was good. The store also has some of the fancier chocolate, great selection of jerky, fried pies and your standard convenience store type items. I drive I-20 a good bit between Texas and Louisiana and this stop is one of my favorites because I know there will be clean restrooms that I dont have to wait in a long line for and a nice environment to take a break at. Overall, it is by far one of the nicer places you can stop at as you travel through Longview on I-20.
Great Texas BBQ conveniently located right next to an I-20 exit. The value for the money is unbelievable, I had plenty to eat for about $20.The ribs were moist and yet melting tender and the smoked ham is just delicious. They lost 1 star when they chopped the brisket instead of slicing it, next time I will try is sliced and give them all them 5 stars
They say everything is bigger in Texas and that is true here. The portions are larger than normal. I ordered the rib eye and it was really good. Frys werent that bad either . I would recommend this place. 10/10
We LOVE this place! My sister told us about it. She stops every time shes passing through. Now we stop in every time too. Clean, friendly, great food and unique gifts to choose from. But be warned, youll be there longer than you thought you were. Time flies when youre having fun. :-)
We were road tripping back and stopped for a coffee and potty break. Skipped coffee. Smelling that BBQ got the whole gang hungry so we stayed for a dinner of real food. Everything was excellent including chopped beef, ribs, pork sandwich, fried okra, Mac n cheese, fruit cocktail and friend pecan pie. So glad we found this place. I’ll add this to our favorites when we pass this way again. Get the bbq.

Im not even going to attempt to put into words just how incredible this brisket is! The first bite almost brought me to tears. Ive never had anything even close. Those who rated 1 star clearly dont have souls. Thank you to the morning crew, yall were as beautiful and kind as the brisket tasted.
I am rating the Smokehouse only, not the store as a whole. I work just down the street and have eat here lots of times. Recently the food has become so expensive I dont eat there as much. Today I went to grab some lunch and got the 2 meat plate with ribs and sliced beef. Wow, how this place has changed! The meat had no flavor I had to soak it in sauce to get down half of it. I also noticed a charge on my receipt that said $1 rib upcharge. I got only 2 ribs and there was an upcharge? At least my dogs will have a nice snack when I get home. I will not be eating this again. Do yourself a favor and go 2 miles north to Carters, they have better food.
First time being there..i love it..GREAT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Whenever my family and I travel back to Texas, we will definitely stop by again..The butcher was great and the cashier Alicia was perfect. She explained the prices, she was very patient with us.

If this is Texass best I will pass everyday without ever stopping again. The brisket and pulled pork tasted like it was boiled and very little smoked flavor. When I cook these on just a regular grill mine has more flavor then this. And the prices are out ridiculous for the poor quality of food.
This place will hurt you. Flippin awesome barbecue we will no doubt become regulars at this place.
I love this place. My family always makes a point to stop here in our trips to Dallas. There is always so much to look at and interesting things to buy. They have a wonderful bakery and smokehouse that serves chopped beef sandwiches and other smoked goods. They also sell a variety of jerky. Make sure to stop in and visit their Where are you from? World Map and put a pin in your home town.
Very excellent food. You get your moneys worth. The ribs were amazing. I couldnt even pick them up. They were fall off the bone good. Im wanting to make a 200 mile drive just to eat there again. Its that good

Brisket was super tender as was pulled pork. BBQ beans were great just the right kick. Their potato salad was delicious just like home made if mama could cook.
Be very careful just had lunch here ,I had the baby back ribs and Mac and cheese with some bake beans and corn and a dinner roll with someone hair wrap around one end of the dinner roll the ribs was dry enough to choke a goat never again will I spend forty seven dollars like that again
I didnt leave feedback last time due to being so frustrated. BBQ is natrually expensive and I am okay with that. However this place was above average prices for BBQ and had the dryest, unflavored meat I have ever had. I read further reviews and people love it. I potentially should retry this place and change my rating if it improves.
Wanted to try some ribs, so we chanced it with this place because of the name “TX Best” we figured they can’t claim this unless it’s true, boy were we wrong. The ribs were mediocre, and needed to be dunked in sauce in order to give it flavor. The beef tacos were bland and smelled to me like B.O. the sides (potatoes, and zucchini had no flavor, very bland and zucchini over cooked and greasy. Even though there was semi truck parking in the back, its not convenient to pull out of the spots because of the fuel pump stations and the fueling trucks had to back out of the pump station after pumping instead of pulling forward. Not coming back and “Do Not Recommend” this place.
We ordered the sliced brisket and the chicken. The brisket looked and tasted like your typical roast and chicken was petrified and not editable. The broccoli salad was very tasty but the Hello Dolly Bar was another petrified item and not editable. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone I like or care about.

Customer service is lacking intelligence as well as a friendly face. The cashiers look put out that actual customers come in. Will not be back. No coffee in the morning...didnt even bother with the restaurant. The snotty look from the cashier was enough to leave. Will go down the road from now on...

It is perfect. Dont listen to the Portlandia Health nuts review. It was not at all too greasy. It is BBQ. The sides will have the home-cook style. Warning: portion sizes are big. Their Mac and Cheese is the perfect comfort food.
This was an amazing gas station! Quite the respite after hours of driving and driving and driving and...you get the point. We didnt get any barbeque, but the sandwiches they made there were fantastic! My wife said it made her happy being there.
Homemade food is great! And they have in-house prepared fresh sandwiches, salads, pies and pudding cups. Nice large restrooms, lots of gifts and also their own lable of canned pickles, salsa, etc. Love this place. Friendly staff too

BBQ was good, but be sure you want your veggies southern style (with pepper sauce cooked in them) before you order a plate lunch.There is a sign posted over the register, that says We sell Coke here. They dont. To get Coke, you must buy your drink at the Sonic, to the left in this food court.Sorry guys, but I take my Coke very seriously and certain places I dont go because they think Pepsi is equal to Coke.To them I say Monopoly money ok with you?.
Not bad but I wouldnt rate it the best. Went because everyone else had food things to say. Got the brisket chopped and it was ok. $11.99 Meat was a little on the tough side for Texas brisket, smoke flavor was not to heavy and could have been increased but I believe thats because it was probably rushed hence toughness. Mac and cheese/beans are my classic bbq necessity. Sides were ok. Service was good .
Good choices for food. In the top truck stops Nationwide. These people need to take over TA, Petro, and many other tired old truck stops. Would improve trucker and traveler quality by huge margin. Only needs more parking.
Must stop if youre traveling through. Nice big and clean. Restrooms are top of line. Food and snack choices for everyone. Yummy treats and food at the smokehouse was top notch. Plus they were open on Christmas which was a life saver for us. Thank you guys
Brisket was dry. Ribs were tough and dried out. Sausage was sub par. Potato salad and baked beans were simply okay. Sorry, I was looking forward to giving a good review after reading the others saying how good the food was.
Large, well lit gas station/rest stop. There are always people here, definitely feels safe for families. Decent BBQ, and a Sonic attached. Restrooms are very clean.
Not exceptional, pulled pork wasnt bad, meat was clean and lean. A couple of complaints though, not enough bbq sauce unless you ask for for it, no bottles around, they put it on back in the kitchen. Same with napkins, they give you one, you have to ask for extras, but with bbq, you know youre going to need more than one. No dispensers at the tables or the counter, and if you want more you have to ask the counter person. Shouldnt have to for a fourteen dollar meal. Sides werent too bad, though the mac and cheese cheese was rather bland.Correction... They do have sauce and other condiments on a table off to the side, I thought it was part of the burger place adjacent.

I did not try the BBQ. So this is about the other food and items. This place is very expensive. Kind of a typical tourist trap. So bring a bucket of cash when you come in, you will need it.
Very disappointed in the Fried pie area. Ordered a fried Cherry pie and a scoop of Vanilla Blue Belle ice cream. Well the scoop was curled up and wasnt even a half a scoop and cost $2.15 (RIP OFF) while across from that area was a container of all types of ice cream which contained a 1/2 pint of Vanilla Blue Belle ice cream for $2.59. We had already paid before she handed us the so called scoop of ice cream. She didnt seem to care when questioned and told us we would have to by the 1/2 pint at another area. We just handed her back the so called scoop. (Even though we already paid for it). Just be sure to check out what you are getting before you pay!
Terrible service, terrible food. I thought I was going to a real restaurant, not an over-priced gas station with insufficient space for any sizable group. The meat was hard to chew, the sides are bad (except the Mac and cheese), and the banana pudding tastes like Laffy Taffy. Stay away.

Thought we were in for a treat as we were passing through, however the food was dry and cold and the cleaning girl decided to come out of the restroom to make my illness public. Will NEVER RECOMMEND OR SUGGEST this place EVER! How distasteful can one be.

The sides were bad. its all the pre made crap. the bbq was not near as good as it should have been for the price. way over priced. and the black guy that works back there is always rude. maybe because im white.. so your self a favor and go right down the road to carters bbq. they have great prices and good bbq.
Food was ok.... it was overcooked and pretty tasteless but couldve been worse. The prices are a few bucks above reasonable for this quality of food.
Every time Ive shopped there I have spent $20 to $50 @ a time! 9:00 AM. Dec. 24th. I sat waiting @ The Oringal Fried Pie for 45 minutes-as it was opening. I was step on by a large Mexican Guy that was said to have Own The Establishment! He kept coming through asking the young lady that was preparing my order if she was alright? A White Gentleman with his Wife came in and he began to ask them what they wanted to order? (The Gentle said oh know they were just looking!!!) So with a smile I ask the Mexican Guy-said to have owned the place, why was it I sat there for 45 minutes yet you turned your nose up to me(Im Black)but when a the white guy came in your hospitality was welcoming and friendly-he was buying nothing... He said that that since my attitude had become hostile HE WANTED ME TO LEAVE? My question to him was because I noticed that you, tried your best to make me feel uncomfortable-as I waited for an order of 6 Pies-by asking the young lady making my order-whom I speak with as I do EVERYONE that works there @TX Smoke House, the many times I have vi$ited! But he had to be told by the young lady that I frequented the place all the time and was waiting for THAT ORDER-in order for him to change his RACIST MODE with me. (...but this has become a very popular antic/ tactic that racist-people use throughout The U.S., in means to ostracize Black Men in public! Then will call the Cops to forward the racist tactics-and attacks that WE HAVE SEEN THAT DO LEAD TO THE MURDERING OF INNOCENT BLACK MEN, WOMEN & Children from State to State!) I asked this so called Onwer ju$t before I removed my Per$on, how is it when a Black Man speaks passionately about his disposition, it becomes an hostile act? After having shopped there since 2014, I will NEVER $PEND ANOTHER BLACK DOLLAR in that place! Im destroying my loyalty card for fueling and Im going to post on every social media site about these racist tactics and nasty behaviors Eye-Experienced/ We black Folk must remove our dollar$ economically once we are treated a$ $econd and third rated (Citizen$!) ...if we makevit out alive?
Little pricey on everything especially that fried pies and chocolate but have several variety coffee drinks on top of different foods to choose from

Excellent stop for fueling up the car and your stomach. Clean bathrooms and multiple food choices available. Would definitely recommend stopping by if driving along I-20 route by Tyler and Longview.
Total Disapointment. Brisket was so dry it fell apart when the guy picked it up to slice it. Why bother bro? Just pull off a chunk. Pulled pork was a little better, but it had very little flavor and it wasnt smoke.False advertising. Texas B̶e̶s̶t̶ Smokehose. Best, Totally subjective!
Bathrooms are great, good place to stop and stretch your legs. Gas is always cheaper 2 miles down the road. BBQ sucks and WAY over priced.
Horrible customer service. There are other places where I can spend my $15 on a plate of food and feel appreciated. This truly is the place where customer service means absolutely not a thing. This is at the Longview location.
This truck stop has plenty of big truck parking. Lots of clean pumps to get fuel. Bathrooms are super clean. They have alot of pretty things to buy in there as well
Just had a egg sausage and cheese buritto that was cold and I asked the guy twice if the tortilla was home made and he said yes. It wasnt. Your better off going to whataburger across the street.
The peach tea, which they havent had on my last 2 visits. But the watermelon tea is good too. Always get the vegetable plate, cant go wrong with that.
Huge BBQ store and resturant. I ordered the bones out rib sandwich for $5.99. It was awesome. This is great BBQ at a great price. Will be going back again.
If you are looking for a one stop shop this is your place. Grab something to eat, pick up a souvenir, and fuel before hitting the road again. Just looking at all that there is to offer will give you enough time to stretch your legs. Lol
Normally its great survive but today was terrible 1 cashier actully doing her jib the others gathered in the office stuffing their faces and talking about their weekend . But other then that this place is one of my favorite stops. But today only 3 stars...
This was my third time here...both the other times we were in a hurry...too many cool things to look at and eat to hurry thru this place..a little pricey but i got my grandsons some really odd things that will thrill and amaze their friend because they cant buy it where they live ..something i love to do for them...really odd boys ..lol...its a must stop and see for urself place ....definitely 5stars....warning...ur kids will want EVERYTHING!!
Got the loaded baked potato for $5- it was HUGE. I split it with a friend, we both got drinks and ended up paying just under $5 for both of our meals. It tasted great, and left us both stuffed.
New big truck parking policy sucks I live in longview now I gotta park in Kilgore or face getting towed away after 48hrs. lost my business for sure I always fueled up here before leaving town but now Kilgore will get my business

Sides are pretty good BBQ is terrible I have eaten good barbecue in this is about like eating a hot dog compared to a T-bone steak if you want good barbecue go down the road westbound to Bodacious BBQ 20 times better

The store was clean & well stocked. The staff was friendly & upbeat. My only complaint was the lack of adequate large signage for the restrooms.

The food was not good. I paid $8 for a bbq sandwich that I couldnt eat because it was not cooked well enough. I will stick with Carters and Bodacious.
We stopped during lunch for the BBQ and it was worth it. Very small parking area so dont wander in late expecting parking. Grabbed brisket & ribs with the fixins. Not cheap.
I ordered the half rack baby back ribs and they are a little too dried than I would prefer. Other sides are good.

Its a great place but for whatever reason today they waited until I got up to the register to say the card reader isnt working.

2022-04-08Rating only the bbq, probably the worse Ive had. Bland brisket and weird flavor on sausage. The person serving didnt take off his gloves to turn door handles and disappeared to the back room for a bit then came back to handle my food so that really ruined my appetite. The brisket was already chopped and wrapped in bundles in cling wrap so who knows how long it was there for. False advertising this isnt Texas best smokehouse. The store was nice and had a bunch of sweets

2022-05-06Nice truck stop facility thats reasonably clean with a good selection. Stopped in for some BBQ while on a road trip back to Houston. Service was fast for a 1 meat plate of sliced brisket and 2 sides, not overly expensive, but not cheap either. Only negative for me like other have mentioned in their reviews is that the meat is VERY dry, even a moist cut that I specifically asked for due to a personal swallowing difficulty. Sadly had to throw quite a bit of it out.

2022-05-31Worse BBQ ever the brisket has no flavor nor the chicken the sauce was runny. The sides were good, I dont recommend the greens were blend. The baked potato it self was cooked properly but again the brisket had no flavor.

2022-05-12Always clean and staff is great, the food is decent, well cooked, but the food lacks seasoning like everything else in this state. If you are looking for light, easy to eat road food with great service you cant do better, but if you want good barbeque then the only place in this state to get it is Josephs Riverport in Jefferson.

2022-07-14Horrible service. Never greeted, rang up my purchase without saying a word. Cooler for bottled water was broken and I told him, never said a word. I was a huge inconvenience even after spending a lot on gas. Next time I will keep driving to the next stop.

2021-01-31Absolutely delicious you can pick your sides with the brisket meal. Sides like mash potatoes, mac and cheese, corn bread, veggies. This was a hot meal that was desperately needed on the road. You can take it to go.

Everything you wanted a bonified one stop shop.Did I mention the fresh dessert selection, just look at my pics.You have got to try the BBQ second to none. Thanks for the great place see yall soon
