I enjoyed the Broken Sprocket food truck park. They have a nice selection of craft beers but the beer prices are steep and range about $5 a can. The food is good but not great. The black bbq truck needs to perfect the cooking process because the meats have a bitter chemical flavor. If going for bbq I would go to experienced smokers like Rudys . For a unique outdoor experience The Broken Sprocket is a fun stop.
The atmosphere is a cross between outdoor festival and indoor bar. The music was alright, nothing special and so was the food, nothing spectacular. What made it all worth it for me was the selection of beer. Another low point was parking. It was very muddy, my friends and I had to get out and push the car out of the mud.
Tony -Best place in town to go to for a nice cold beer, music and great food.Tony brings in the best local bands and definitely provides the best possible customer service - so if your in the neighborhood stop on by and enjoy the atmosphere. If you don’t see your favorite beer in stock, let Tony know he does the best job anywhere around of catering to his customers!!!
This place is a large outdoor area with several food trucks. The food offered is a good variety and what we had was really good (street tacos, guacamole and chips, nachos). The tables are socially distanced and the bar is open air and has a good selection of beer and wine drinks. Live music finishes the place off for a nice atmosphere that feels pretty safe during these times.
We were from up north staying a month in South Padre Islands. Noticed this place had outdoor music. We checked it out on a. Sunday night and it’s the best place for those that love live music from original artists. Outdoor venue, plenty spaced out, lots of TVs with games if you want to take a quick peek at game score during concert. The stage is surrounded by food trucks (great idea): Lots of good locally crafted beers.Awesome wait staff that are also super cute. This place is a win win! I will return every time I am in town.
Great place to hang out. All outdoors very family friendly. Plenty of food to chose from with an outdoor bar. Lots of space. Had a great time with the family. Definitely be back to try the other food trucks. The only negative was the restroom situation... May need to be reevaluated sometime in the future ....no cleanliness issues at all.... But the demand really outweighed the facilities available. Still, definitely be back to visit.
My favorite place to hang out in the Valley! You won’t find anywhere else like The Broken Sprocket. All outdoor — perfect for the current situation. They also have live music almost everyday, TVS, the best food in Brownsville & the largest craft beer selection! So glad this hidden gem is here
This place has a great atmosphere. Definitely unlike anything in Brownsville. We came here and ate some food then watched the live music and drank some beer. Theres a great selection of food. My wife got some tacos and I got some BBQ. Both trucks were delicious. The BBQ was pretty pricey but it was delicious. I recommend the chicken or the brisket sandwich if you decide to visit the BBQ truck. We will be coming back here again!
If you are ever in Brownsville, TX, and are looking for a great place to eat and have ice cold beers, then The Broken Sprocket is the place to go! Family and pet friendly too! Can you beat that? This is no rowdy bar type. Its very chill with good people just enjoying life and great live music. Go to The Broken Sprocket. These guys just recently upped the atmospheric setting of their bar, as well as added a playground for kids to play at. How cool is that?! There is plenty of room and food trucks if you would rather have your family sitting away from the bar setting.
Casual and cool, the food is fantastic, we had The Texicans Brisket Sandwich and Beach Paws Burger. Both were outstanding and worth revisiting for. Live Music started at 8PM, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the beer was nice and cold. If you enjoy happy hour drinks and a casual dinner on a wednesday because friday and saturday is too crowded out, check this place out.
The only thing was the sitting, they are using picnic tables but I couldnt sit down and eat because they were taken by groups of people who were not eating, they saw me looking for a table but they would not move so I ate at my truck, They have an area with six tables but an average of only four people sitting on each of them, just a waste of space. they need more chairs or small tables close to the bar and need to move the tables close to the vending trucks. 4 dollars for a beer and no place to sit down and enjoy it, it could be great but until they improve on the sitting situation Ill be in a chair elsewhere.
We need more community-centric establishments like The Broken Sprocket. The atmosphere is super chill, its a great place to unwind, and everyone I meet has a smile on their face (staff and locals). The Sprocket has some of the best local food you can get in the valley. Im all about Habaneros blackened fish tacos and anything on the menu at Mikes Come and Eat It Texas BBQ. Im still working my way around to the other food trucks and from what Ive tried its all tasty. The beer and wine garden has a great selection---theres always something new to try. Tony and the gang are doing it right!I highly recommend you come check it out.
This place reminds me of Austin, TX. Brownsville really lacks places like this, a place to hangout and have some good food and listen to live music outdoors. Ive only had tacos and lemonade from one of the food trucks but those were delicious. Id much rather come here to eat tacos rather than a restaurant elsewhere in Brownsville. Not many people know about this place, but hopefully it does stay open for a long time. This will definitley be my hangout every friday night!
