First of all let me make it clear I am not staying here nor do I have a relative here seems like a great place would probably wanna be placed here if im being placed somewhere !! I called in my clients food order ! Came down to the cafeteria at 20 after 5 pm her order was not on the shelf so I got at the back of the line the guy at the beginning if the line asked if I was here for “name of client” i said yes he said ok itll be a minute ! Then the next person in line a hispanic lady said who are you here for ? I informed her of who i was here for and she rudely said you need to wait outside !!! It is 5:44 there is no one in line and i am still sitting outside waiting in my clients meal !! She is a fall risk therefore she is upstairs alone in her apartment right now !!! At 5:46 she came out with the meal said here I’m sorry it got really full

My great grandma loves this place! She says friendliest people, great environment and friendly staff members. She says this is the best thing she ever did, was moving here.

My husband an I moved here almost 3 years ago. We have not regretted it for one moment. During the pandemic, they certainly watched after us, now that things are lightning up, theyre doing wonderful things for us. I rec livi g here to all.

No stars if I could. While I was out of town they dragged my mom around in a wheel chair with no foot supports and a broken hip for 2 days. I had to request a medical check up or we wouldn’t have found out when we did. She died 4 days later. I’d had to keep a close eye at least once daily prior to that. The care was very minimal for Alzheimers care. Would not recommend to anyone.

My Dad happily lived here for years. He complained more and more about the food. After we moved him out they dd not fulfill contract obligations in a timely manner. I have heard they have dragged their feet in fulfilling financial obligations with other former residents as well. 2 stars only because the cafeteria staff were very pleasant. Management is terrible with communication.

The administrator at Windflower is terrible! Since she took over last year, this facility has gone from a 5-star rating to a very poor reputation in Amarillo. She does not care about your loved one, she cares about money in her pocket. She will make promises to you about your resident but will not keep them. I’m hopeful the owners read reviews and will take action. State is in/out of this place all the time because of her poor management. If you care about ethics, integrity, and a fully staffed environment for your family member, this is not the place. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve walked into Memory Care and there’s not near enough CNAs for all the residents. Also, the Windflower administrator couldn’t tell you the names of many of the residents and has no idea about them. Horrible place, horrible management, horrible morals.

My grandmother lived there 18 years, 17 & 1/2 independently. Those years were great--lots of events, activities & socials for her to be as involved as she wanted. However, when she developed dementia & needed more help, thats when things got bad. Assisted living has about a 2 to 15 patients ratio, and at no time there did she see a medical doctor. The nurse practitioner prescribed meds for anxiety that made her dopey, & she fell 3 times & needed to go to the hospital. The last time she broke her neck & they brought her to nursing unit after the hospital. They didnt want her there because of wandering so then transferred her to memory care. All these changes in location, from independent down to memory care--four in all plus hospital visits within two months---are very hard on a patient with dementia. Plus, its astounding to me that a medical doctor never saw her while she was there. There are good people there, but the care she needed wasnt given to her. It was a bit of a blessing when she had a strep infection, and the medical doctor transferred her to a hospital where they specialize in infections. Now she is done with the Craig and Im glad. Great for Independent living, but I cannot recommend their higher levels of care.

Medications are not given on a timely basis. Saw one nurse charting meds before administering them to a resident. Loved one was not given very important Iv antibiotic one morning for cellulitis. I walk in at 11am and noted empty iv bag hanging dated for the prior day. Response from nurse was that she was too busy to give it. It was three hours past due.Loved one went in weighing 245 and the day he was discharged weighed 267 verified by in home nurse. No way this should have happened if patient protocols were followed. Patient has unstable knee and was unable to walk 2nd day there after a physical therapy session. Had to remind staff to document as no one seemed to address issue. No x ray taken to see if there was a problem. Volume overload on discharge. Patient could not breathe upon arrival at home.Meals sit in the cart getting cold while aids stand around doing nothing. Unsanitary practices serving food. No gloves worn taking meals to patients. Brought this to attention of administrator at meeting. Next day sad to say same thing happening. Attendants putting silverware on table with bare hands, I took very good notes. All is documented!I am not sure what is going on there lately but it was not a good patient experience.

Terrible place to work. They dont care about their employees. I lost 3 family members in one week and was told I no longer have a job when my grandpa passed. I love my residents and miss them but I dont recommend living or working there. Worst work place Ive ever worked at in my 20 years of working.
