The Gardens Apartments in other cities:
I have lived at this complex for one and a half years. The first unit I lived in was not prepared when I moved in. The bathroom was not usable, and I had to stay in another unit for the first night. After two weeks, the toilet leaked from the bottom. I also experienced electricity problems from time to time. Then I moved to another unit, which does not have any problems with the electricity or the bathroom. But I saw roaches on the first day I moved in. I called pest control several times, but it didnt get better until the weather gets colder (I even saw roaches in my bedroom).Today the maintenance said there was a leaking pipe in my wall. They dug two holes in the ceiling and the wall in my bedroom to fix the pipe, and left. Now I have to sleep with the holes on my ceiling.I think with the price I am expecting a little bit more than this. I am feeling super tired.
- Very close to campus, and shuttle buses come around the clock to get you to campus in a timely manner. Be sure to apply early, because if you dont get the premium apartment you will not have a washer/dryer in your unit and youll have to use the community laundromat (sucks if you live on the 2nd or 3rd floor).- The rooms are pretty spacious but very dorm-styled bedrooms and the the patios on the first floor dont have a gate.- The staff is pretty friendly but they lacked in communicating important information to me: I moved into the apts this past January and wasnt aware that I had to renew my lease for the following year at the start of this past February. I only had 2 weeks and never received an email to inform me to renew. Didnt find out until a couple of days ago(July) and now they no longer have rooms available.- Maintenance is slow and I had a pretty bad gnat problem.- Find another apt for the same price range if you can! More amenities at other properties.
I havent been here a week and already have problems. AC wasnt working when I moved in. The cabinets along with the counter tops in the kitchen were sticky the dish washer had some black stuff inside I had to clean out the furniture was not move in ready the shower/bath tub sink looks nasty and moldy because of the previous tenant the cable only works in one room not in living room or my room which is frustrating the offices only solution to anything is place a work order wasnt informed on where the mailbox is located and was not even allowed to write the damages already done because apparently if they are minor they dont care to write them down the floor was sticky upon move in the carpet in both rooms at the door was ripped with a string of carpet hanging out along with stains in the carpet I just hope I dont get charged since I wasnt allowed to review the paper before giving me my copy what a joke.
Glorified dorms. The rules are too strict for an apartment complex - they wouldnt let me keep my little electric grill, among other things. Also, they do not have enough recreational facilities. For the same price, you can find much better living options around college station. Avoid!
Easy access to school by walking (15-min) and 2 bus stops on the property. It is considered on campus, so you will be obligated to follow university rules. Quite friendly environment for internationals students and welcoming place for family as it it quite next to Becky Gates daycare. Sound isolation is below average specially if you are in 1st floor. There is game room, free kitchen and ball rooms available for residents without any charges; plus, a kids playroom.

2022-02-02Moved out last semester. Let’s start off with the good parts first: mostly clean (well sorta), proximity to main campus is great, bus stops are neat, and you can order in maintenance whenever for whatever.Ok now let’s see what’s not so great: cockroaches that fly and infest and are the size of two giant almond M&Ms stuck together (I admit this isn’t really the apartment’s fault but boy do I hate these critters),sometimes very slow responding or even rude maintenance/front desk, really obnoxiously loud ventilation system that seriously had me waking up most nights, neglected during the summer (when I first moved in, the stove, bathtub, and lights all had major issues that took a long time to be fixed, NOT cool),and probably worst of all they even censored residents who complained about such things to not lose any other residents to better apartments (yikes!).It does its job mostly but there most certainly are better options out there.

2022-07-26Never live here. Bad service, rules like dorms, rent is high, maintenance sucks. My apartment hasn’t had water for the last 5 hours. There was a scheduled water outage till noon, but it has lasted till 5 PM. The office doesn’t care. They’re just brushing us residents off.

2020-03-02The apartments are very near to the Zachary and ETB buildings. Very close to McDonalds and taco bell.Convenient for engineering students, but far from the west campus. The rooms are very good. Apartment service is also good. Has an open access lab for students, volleyball court, basketball court etc. Fully furnished. One bed per bedroom, sofa set, table and chairs, refrigerator, oven , dishwasher etc are included. Common laundry.

2019-07-10Do not live here if you are an American student. These apartments do not have dehumidifiers so during the summer months the apartments become moldy even at 70F, a very reasonable temperature. I called the office to ask if they would provide a dehumidifier, as I am already paying this place $800/mo. They flat out told me No. You must set your thermostat within the recommended range. This place was built for international students who prefer their apartments warm, so if youre an American I recommend looking elsewhere.

2017-08-16Fully furnished apartments, perfect for families and graduate students. Excellent facilities include: gym, meeting/activity rooms, computer lab, pool and table-tennis playroom, kids/toys playroom and outdoor playground, basketball and beach volleyball fields. Complex is quiet, and feels safe. Perfectly located near university campus, in walking distance to engineering buildings, and university bus 4 runs until late hours.

2019-05-17The good things of this apartment is just location close to campus and furnished. However, the bus route is often late. For international student and family, it is very expensive ( increasing every year), the contract is unfair, they asked us to do renewal on december to tie us on the next year( probably that is our fault because we lack of informations, we are new, that the fact is many other better place so I write this review for you). However, usually on summer and spring, there are a lot of offer from other better place. Trust me, if you are international students and have no idea about apartment, just look from off campus area first because unfortunately in America there is no such close place ( walking distance) so you still need to go by bus and a lot of apartments are in the bus route. For the same price, you can get better facilities from others, such as swimming pool, better fitness facilities, bigger room ( from the same price even lower you can get 2 bed 2 bath rooms and in gardens you only get 1 bed and 1 bathroom), also you have to pay extra for car parking ($320 ish per year and it may increase every year). If you want to buy furniture, you can get from facebook marketplace and it is quite cheap so you do not have to worry because at least the other apartments have refrigerator, oven, and stove. Also, some of the maintenance guy here is not polite, they come quite fast but they nag during working on his job. So, I WILL NOT recommend you guys to live here because there are a lot of better places outside which have better facilities and much more cheaper with flexible and fair contract.

2019-06-06The mattresses and box springs offered in this apartment are the worst. Two years ago, when I moved in, I asked the maintenance team to take the worst mattress, and the worker just took it without saying a word. But two years later, after receiving inspection to move out, there was a call to charge for the mattress. If I had heard or had known I should notify the housing office, I would have had. However, they do not believe my words at all, and they are only saying that I should prove it myself. There is no advantage to the school except that it is close. If you already own a car or plan to buy a car, there is no reason to live in this apartment.

2019-05-30My first few weeks, I had to be so patient waiting for my student ID to be activated to be used in accessing all facilities (laundry room) at the Garden. I had to go to SBS for more than twice. The rent also expensive $649/room/month with shared bathroom not including utilities for spring 2019. But they have the flexible contract (per year or per semester).

2017-08-01I lived here for two years in two different apartments (a two bedroom and then I down sized to a one bedroom) and both were wonderful. Both had A/C issues, but they were always prompt about fixing it the day after I sent in a request. Theyre a nice easy walk from campus which was amazing and with a bus right here for rainy and lazy days. They do however have a very dorm room like feel. Not a downside per se, but it was a bit of a negative for me. Nice furniture, nice apartments though, a wonderful place to stay for the price. Very quite, good atmosphere.
