The Home Depot in other cities:
Had a great visit this time. Found the lumber that I needed and loaded it. Went back to look for closet door I needed to replace and couldnt find them and the employee Geneva saw me and asked if she could help and took me to where they were. Unfortunately they dont carry mine in the store anymore but she said she could help me order it online. Awesome to have such a helpful person.Update. Went in to get a key made. Went to the key move and ask one of the cashiers to call for someone. For some reason they did not come after 15 minutes so I asked a worker that was passing if they could call and they made a direct call to someone and said that they would be there shortly but a couple minutes later a lady came by and saw me and asked if I needed a key made and she knew how to do it so she helped me first. Unfortunately the key I required I already had a blank but they couldnt use it so I wasnt able to get the one I needed but they had a substitute that would work.
Worst delivery service ever. Rude unprofessional derviler personal. I would love to hear from Home Depot on how the delivery people asked my wife to sign the paperwork then after she signed they wrote all their comments on the paperwork. Bad additudes from the start. Even worse after they figured out the had to take our old refrigerator. Because we paid for the service. Not to mention the door handle fell off twice after they left due to not being properly installed. Also it took a month to receive our refrigerator.
Went to place an order like I always do at the pro desk to pick it up at there chosen time and usually I show up a few hours after the time the picked just cause I have other errands to run. Well this time they picked a time of 4pm when the order was placed around 1:30pm and I showed up after 6 and they hadnt even touched my order yet. I had to actually pick it myself and load it because they said it would be another hour for him to pick mine when I was the only one on that list. Took me 14 mins to grab everything and walk to the customer service desk to show them. Everytime I have done a pro order, they are never on time with my order even hours after the fact and have had to even come the next day because of it. Its getting really annoying and dont know why they pick times if they cant get those orders done by that time.
Called ahead & had Eric in the insulation department put some R30 aside for me. I had complications paying/ordering online. He assured me it was the material I was wanting &did as he promised, he put it aside for me. I drove from the Lake Jackson location & was very pleased with Erics help! Thanks again!
Terrible Service. Went to buy $3000 mower and it was missing guard. Only one there and I called for help. Kid was less than interested and then we called Manager. I pointed it out and he said yes and then said and whats the question I said I cannot mow without the guard the blade is exposed. He said Ill give you $25 off and you can go over to the local mower shop and order one, but there pricy. Anyway I did not buy after trying to work out a reasonable solution that didnt include me driving around trying to find one somewhere else. Home depot should be ashamed of these employees and Eric the manager.
They need more employees. Their motto its ask the customer if they need help before they have to ask. I waited ti ask an associate where the peel and stick type wallpaper was and they were with another customer so I waited. Finally got tired of waiting and left. Ridiculous
Friendly knowledgeable Associates ! Always willing to help with whatever you need ! If they dont have it ! It hasnt been made yet !! Great place for all of your Hardware, Tools and Home Improvement needs . From inside the House or Garage to the outside Lawn, Garden and Patio needs. Home Depot in Alvin, Tx. has got you covered !!!!!!!
I went in looking to buy another exterior lantern light to match what I had bought there previously. They no longer sold that kind. I was so disappointed. So I was about to walk away when your employee TAMMY walked up and offered help. Told her my problem. I picked a light that kind of resembled the kind I had but it was pricey. She was able to get me a discount. I was so happy and grateful. Great job Tammy and I loved your enthusiasm!!! This is one happy customer!!
Went to the tool rental department for a carpet extractor. Staff was very helpful and informative. Made sure I understood how to use the equipment. Additionally, he made sure I understood what penalty charges I might incur if the machine wasnt brought back clean and on time.
I have mixed feelings about the Alvin location because there are a few employees there, if they are still there because there is such a high turnover rate, that are not working in the right industry. They need to be working in the jails or day care centers. I mean really they are aggressive babysitters making me feel like Im doing something wrong.
I really enjoy coming here. The staff is great and knowledgeable. The only thing I didnt like was the lady from the tool room offered to do my credit check for a Home Depot Credit Card and she didnt know what she was doing and put me down for a 50k credit line and got declined. So I called and they gave me a 500 dollar limit, which is what I wanted. Other than that, one of the best Home Depots I have been to. No bad attitudes and laziness like in the city. Thank you Alvin Texas.
I shop here all the time. Its convenient in the fact that its close to home. They normally have what Im looking for and the employees are always helpful and friendly. The only problem I have with Home Depot is the front isle of the store is packed with product. Packed to the point that its hard to get down the front isle. I try to avoid the front of the store.
After waiting two hours to get help with purchasing a lawn mower the “manager” John would not honor the military discount for my veteran husband who had his ID. He told him they don’t offer those discounts on lawn mowers; yet calling two other close by Home Depot’s confirmed otherwise. The service was absolutely terrible and John should be fired for treating a costumer so poorly.
They are a great place to visit, when you need something for your home, inside or outside. They have an endless supply of tools and parts, from A to Z. People there will answer any questions that you have. They have what you need to put a beautiful fence around your house.
They sold me a lawn mower, the blade bends the first time I use it, and they dont sell replacement blades for the mowers they have. Went on a wild goose chase around Alvin looking for a compatible blade for this mower and it looks like Ill have to order one from Troy-Bilt and wait for it to get here. I hope I can fend off the HOA in the meantime
Great place to shop and my experience was even more positively enhanced with the great customer service from the night employee named Greg. Even though he told me he was new there he still offered to help, get another employee that could help me further, and while the whole time having a smile and positive attitude. Great employees working at a great company is what keeps making me come back to Home Depot in Alvin. Thanks Greg and Home depot.
I am a kid in a candy store at Home Depot. With a large selection of tools and accessories needed for everyday home use or for building. Allowing me to stay up-to-date with the latest technology in home repair and accessories. The customer service is always friendly especially at the Alvin and Friendswood Home Depots
As a former employee, Ive lost a lot of Interest here lately for The Home Depot. They no longer cater to the DIYers and aim more for contractors and businesses. The last 4 times I have been to this location the customer service is a joke. You have to chase people to ask questions. Then they look at you like youre interrupting what their pretending to do. Took 4 people to try to figure out where outdoor blinds were. Finally was told their seasonal, summer only. I bought them before in late September. Asked paint guy about black paint, said all paint has to be made.. then I pointed at a can that said black, he response was Oh, thats high gloss. Everything else has to be mixed. And then he literally walked away...Tired of wasting my time, leaving empty handed and in a bad mood. I give up. The store is dark and cluttered anyways. Now, I am a happy customer to Lowes.
Ben was fantastic help in the lumber department. Super friendly and accommodating. Issues between online inventory and store inventory but he found a solution so I could leave that evening with what I needed. So 5 stars and more for Ben and his help! The 3 stars come from the recurring discrepancy between online inventory and the actual store inventory. Managers and site administrators, please fix this! Quite annoying to drive miles to a store to only find out the items are not stocked as predicted on the Home Depot website! Plus I may be out of luck but it happens all the time with a couple of items I need that day; and no one likes wasting 1 hr + of their day due to inventory issues (online vs store)....
Waited for too long for requested help in the rope aisle, I decided to just grow my hair out and braid it into rope to save my day. Good store, but do your research and use the Home Depot app to find stuff. No cashiers which is fine, less forced small talk, but sometimes the self checkouts dont work. Spray paint? Wait for approval by lethargic orange smock. Super glue? Wait for missing attendant. Cut piece of trim board? Wait forever for depressed employee to verify length.Edit: oh and the sliding door was not working so i had to squeeze out
This Home Depot is very organized and their employees are so nice. Every time I go to the store, at least one person asks if I need any help. Their customer service is always amazing. Ive even had someone find a ladder, climb up and get a part that was out below. But this time, Id like to tell you about my experience getting a washer and dryer. I had trouble getting a washer & dryer with another company and told the appliance specialist (Lena) of the issues. She notified me of the current sales, set me up on her computer to look up reviews (since I prefer to do so before making a large purchase). I picked out the ones I wanted, she got everything set up in the computer and had delivery the NEXT DAY. Literally, less than 24 hours later, I had my washer and dryer delivered. Im a very happy camper and can now wash all my clothes!!
I was very upset that although a sign is posted outside of door that a Mask must be worn to enter store, because I saw 2 ppl that chose to Not wear one, plus another that had his mask Below nose; I told the Young employee about the obvious Neglect, she didnt enforce anything to these pl. How shameful this store is, no regard for lives!!
Normally I have a pretty good experience here but today a manager imelda was so rude. My daughters and I were looking at the big tool boxes. We liked one that was $900. When I asked if they had any new in the box ones she said rudely. Um no ppl dont buy these in boxes. Then I asked if they had any that were not scratched up as that one was. She said nope thats the only one..... ok well it will end up with scratches eventually so I asked who do I talk to about buying this one discounted due to the scratches and a couple of dents. Plus one hinge was broken. She said again so rudely um me Ill give you $40 off. She barely looked up from her phone the entire time. When she was finished talking she just turned and walked away. I wasnt even finished speaking. Lol wow.walked back by her desk and she was still just texting on her phone. Wow.
I have been to many a Home Depot but the customer service and organization here, is superior to all other locations I have visited. I bought appliances for my new home here and they were friendly and delivery was on time and everything was in perfect condition. I probably visit this location weekly and have never left irritated about anything.
I waited in appliances for about 15 minutes. I wanted to purchase a washing machine. I looked at other appliances hoping someone would arrive. I finally gave up and proceeded to look for my wife. After I found her, I went back and there was a gentleman at kitchen remodel desk with a customer which is located in the appliances area. I asked him to call someone. A girl came over and said the person was busy. I was left with no help and no one else coming to help as he did not bother calling anyone. I ended up loading the washing machine on a cart myself and on my trailer after purchasing it. I would have left the store with nothing but my wife needed it as I was going out of town on business for a few weeks.
Usually get what I need here, today looking for a washer but none in stock. Was shown a used one that was more than a new one and it was filthy and had blood in it!! I was very upset and told front desk about it, since I touched it and asked for hand sanitizer. That should never have been out on floor, very disappointed!!
Went to find a few needed items and found an employee to help. Employee, Robyn, remembered my brother and his son by name from over 5 years ago. They went to Saturday morning workshops for kids years ago. Robyn helped us with everything we needed help finding. People like Robyn really make a huge difference!
This well light store and awesome product placements makes for easy shopping every time. The staff seem to always be friendly, resourceful and attentive; usually always actually walking with the clients to mechendise location to assure the customer not only finds what they need, but also have no reason to ask again what they need. I think its quite cool the classes Home Depot offers teaching the community how to do it yourself, and i think even for free. Home Depot, its a pleasure to have and see such admirablely, well thought and proven skills and professional place of business that is needed, enjoyed and prepared for their customers needs.
Had to return twice after initial purchase because the products werent working. Third time, had to spend an extra $70 because they didnt have a third of the original product. Wouldnt have been an issue if the customer service lady from my third visit wasnt so incredibly rude.
So often these home improvement places are so unorganized. This one has more workers working and has better customer service than most but like others everything is scattered with no real sense of organization why must you have 3 different places for something on different places in the store that should be together .
You can NEVER find someone that knows anything about their departments, if you can find an employee to begin with. And if they have the item you want in stock, they only have 1 or 2. Most of the time, they dont have what I need. The spot is empty. They need to train their employees for the departments they are working in and they need to hire some more employees. Their hours are great.
Stopped carrying the filters for my fridge. Also needed potting soil, tag price on the shelf said 9.97. At check out rang 10.47, told the cashier it was wrong priced. Said the tag was 9.97, she checked the computer, says price is always in the computer. I finished my order and retrieved the tag, proceeded to customer service. Everytime I go to Home Depot, always have to track down someone to help.
This home depot is the worst contractor service Ive ever seen. Pro service desk was closed. The regular check out could not make a phone purchase. And customer service could not help us! I do a lot of business with Home Depot. But after this situation Im thinking I will not come back. Its worth it to me to pay a little more for service somewhere else.
This Home Depot has an easy to get into and out of location at Hwy 36 and Hwy 6. It is reasonably staffed as I can usually find someone to answer my questions and to help find items. We have purchased many items from here and when something I bought was wrong I have never had an issue with returning the items.
During a recent trip to pick up a Christmas tree, we noticed that the selection of trees is nothing like it was previous years. However, even with a smaller collection of trees, they seemed to be a slightly better quality than usual. The price of the trees could be a little better, but they are about in par with what everyone else is selling them for.
What is there to say? It is the Walmart of home improvement and hardware. Big, boxy, and lots of moderately cheap home improvement stuff. They usually have what you are looking for, though sometimes no one knows where it is. You usually can also find the cheapest prices, or at least comparable prices, for what you need.
I came in to get a mower that online said Alvin only had one in stock with 100 miles. I found it outside and noticed it was worn, was missing a discharge guard, and sounded like it had a weird transmission noise. The manager, Jason, came and took a look. He found out they had another one sitting inside that was BRAND NEW! He got me hooked up with the new one and kept me from feeling uneasy about an expensive sale. He was truly professional and I cant tell you how much I appreciated his help. He saved the Kickball Tournament for this weekend now that I can mow again 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Todd was super helpful and let me borrow a drill to get the battery terminals hooked up too. Buncha good guys here. Thanks.
Unorganized, unreliable, and incredibly frustrating barely begins to describe every experience Ive had at this location. Ive purchased several appliances and had flooring sub contracted at this location, and regardless of who I speak or work with the results are never what is promised. If you are told anything, you can safely assume the opposite is true. If they quote you a delivery day, it will be late. If there is an issue, dont expect a phone call because it wont come. When you call the number in an attempt to speak with some, they will simply start a chain of putting you on hold or transferring you to a different department until the phone goes silent forcing you to start the process again. The atmosphere of complacency and apathy are evident in the demeanor of the employees, but when the manager on duty makes the shoot myself in the head motion by putting his hand up to his head as if it were a gun firing, I know that any amount of professionalism is completely out the door. I dont see myself purchasing any appliances or other services from this location again and would strongly recommend that others do the same.
I bought a freezer and refrigerator as a donation to a rehab place in Alvin, Texas because they lost theirs in the flood due to hurricane Harvey. When delivery was attempted, both were scratched and horribly dented. The delivery is through someone Home Depot contract to do so. The appliances were rejected. A second delivery was scheduled. Again the appliances were dented and scratched but since I was not there to examine them, the refrigerator was accepted. I am definitely not happy with it because it was damaged, too. The freezer was, again, unacceptable due to dents and scratches. A third delivery is set up for another freezer. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS HOME DEPOT! While the person who sold me the appliances was nice, they have no quality control and apparently do not inspect items sent out for delivery. Either that or the delivery company they use is totally incompetent.I will NOT ever buy anything from Home Depot again!
After waiting 30 plus minutes for someone to help me in the power washing area and having two different services center (customer service/paint associate) call for someone to help me and having waited patiently for someone to help and still no one came. I give up Im going to Lowe. 4/16/18 2:35pm to 3:05pm
Home Depot is my main place for building supplies and home repairs. Depending on where I am and what direction Im going, Ill usually go to this one or the one in Pearland near SH288 or the one in Lake Jackson. They are all laid out in a similar way, which makes it easy to find what youre looking for. However, some are mirror images on the layout.
I called ahead to confirm they had the lumber I needed just to find out they really didnt, the guy in the paint department was no help whatsoever but he wasnt busy doing anything else, they quit doing military discount except on special occasions where as Lowes still give it to you everyday.
Been becoming unhappy more and more since Harvey. After Harvey could not find a single staff person to help load tile on buggie or truck If shopped after 6 no help to be found. Now Black Friday. I stood in line at 6 this morning to get in. Went directly to what I wanted took the customer service card as required for product. I knew limited quality but had 5 more cards in slots. I picked up a couple more items when to service desk to find sold out. I asked if you only had 2 why did you put 10 cards out. Kinda misrepresenting product. It didn’t say grab card and go immediately to customer (un) service. While I was asking why no product a gentleman had paid for his and was coming to pickup. Oh sorry got to refund. If you have two then display two cards or say rush to CS to see if you get your prize. CS staff oh well that how we do it. I wanted two because was less cost and could use both. I picked up two cards. Somehow this seems to be false instore advertising. Asked if they were coming removing cards now....no. Don’t understand.
I personally would say it was a magnificently successful outing at the local Home Depot. As i soon discovered upon entering this establishment, that they had stuff. I swept in the broad passages and well lit signage indicating what stuff was where, that I indeed needed stuff. After meandering through the veritable cornucopia of varied stuffs i ventured into the outdoors. There i was greeted by a pleasant chap whom i tpok to be my guide. But to my disappointment he was politely informing me of the mercantiles closure for the evening. Before departing i was able to obtain two things and the very hospitable ladies near the exit persuaded me to leave them some of my cabbage and pocket weight in exchange for a piece of paper. They then told Goliath that He should lock the door behind me. I will go again tomorrow for another round and see what stuff i might gain during my expedition.
After spending 3000.00 dollars we had to wait an hour and a half to get loaded. Gay one of the loaders are receipt and he disappeared with it gave it to somebody else and we had to hunt down the receipt. The guy that was supposed to be pulling the product and bringing it to the front just left and didnt tell anybody but the product needed to be pulled. Then while customers were still waiting to be loaded everybody that could use the forklift whats gone. Me and the boss had to load 54 cases of laminate flooring by ourselves. Over a pallet of product.
First time ever I left unhappy.I was told that were not selling any Halloween or thanksgiving decorations this year because they wanted to give time to people to rebuild after Harvey. This sucks because this is my favorite time of year. Oh well. Oh yea I was also told that next week they will start selling Christmas stuff. Guess all the hurricane rebuilding will be done by then.
Its home depot, lots of inventory but not employees, and they are strange how they hire people, wont hire someone who knows most of what home improvement is because of disability but hire and train workers who know nothing about home improvement, so make sure you know or Google what you need to know so you get what you need, then if it seems high in price shop Lowes and see, one is always better than the other you just have to look, but all in all its ok.
Use to love this place until the updated auto pay lines only 2 cash lines rest is card but worst of all if u need some special item u cant even look it up but gotta hit the help button and still gotta wate for a real person to come help so its stupid its supos to be all your own check out but you still need to be baby sat basically fills like Im 70yrs old needing my grand son to check me out at the counter sadly Im 25 so its more like mommy needing to hold my hand as i talk to the ice cream truck driver this place has become very frustrating just trying to pay and go its almost like i want yo throw my money on the counter scan nothing and walk out middle figure in the air and if they say anything ill yell keep the change!!!!!
Leaving a review because of HDs associate, Clay. As a first time home owner and newbie, Ive been to HD dozens of times. Clay always asks if I need help finding anything or if he can assist. He uses creative thinking and always directs me to a solution to my problem. He is my go to guy at this store. Thank you HD for hiring people like Clay!

2022-03-29Honestly been to this store for years never had a problem. Till today my wife asked for a military discount an the cashier Beatrice in self checkout area in lumber. She smacked her gums an told my wife i cant help you you have to do it online. Now i get an understand changes with things but she said they were doing that for the past 4 months an i was there 5 days ago an a brand new employee in self checkout dialed in a military discount an said to my wife thank you for your service. This lady Beatrice wanted nothing to do with us being costumers an showed no respect for us or any other costumer. An also no respect for our veterans.

2022-05-10Competitive prices, worst service, long lines, but usually always have what you need. Easy returns and if you can find someone for specialty orders they tons of options. If any other similar business was near I would shop the other place.

2021-12-15I went in looking for some bulbs for the walk-in pantry and was completely lost because the bulbs that needed to be replaced wasnt there. I took a guess but still was unsure and then I was saved by one of the sweetest and nicest employee. He was so helpful and patient with making sure I had the correct bulbs, he told me not to worry if they dont fit, just bring them back and will find the correct ones. Didnt have to go back because they were a perfect fit. So my experience there yesterday was excellent and pretty much every time I go to this location, the staff is ready and willing to help, with superb attitudes. I highly recommend this location if youre in this area.

2022-06-08They are good for sale. To respond when you have a complaint they are the worst. I WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING AGAIN AND DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

2022-05-19I just went too get flowers, lol. Nothing more, they do have everything you would possibly need though ! Other than food and drinks.....
