The Mansion at Colovista was a really great venue. My Wife and I got married there last May and Julie, Bob (owners) and Jennifer (day of coordinator) took really great care of us.From the beginning we loved the venue, it was first and only place we went to see. The mansion it-self was beautiful and the amenities it offers Provided everything we needed (rehearsal space, bridal and grooms suits, dinning room, upstairs dance hall). The grounds are also amazing and not only provide an insanely picturesque setting for your ceremony but also the amazing photo opportunities on the golf course. in my opinion, Being able to take your photos without having to jump on a bus and drive around to take photos was a huge plus.As previously mentions Julie, Bob, and Jennifer were amazing.Julie ws easy to get a hold of and help us find a way to work out whatever we needed. Bobs the man, and was super fun and whatever we needed he was a call away. He was also a great bartender for our rehearsal diner that we held in their restaurant space, and they were super accommodating. And Jennifer, she was so awesome. I was a little worried that we never really met her before the day of (we were able to speak with here via phone, and im sure we could have met with her if need be) but she was a rock star and on top of everything. Work so well with all of our vendors. We really had nothing to worry with her and Julie behind the scenes. And did i mention that Bob was the man?The last things id like to mention are the bungalows, the mansions ability to handle inclement weather, and food and alcohol.We rented out all the bungalows and a few golf carts for our wedding party which i suggest everyone do. it was probably one of the best parts of the wedding be it let us basically stay at the venue and have the best after party there after the wedding. It was truly amazing.In regard to the weather, it was supposed to storm the day of our wedding and they made sure that we knew we could move the weddings indoors with no issue. They had a plan and were ready to execute. Luckily it didnt, but it was very reassuring knowing that they could handle it if it did.In regard to food and alcohol, its pretty simple, we got to provide the food and alcohol. was great and saved us a good amount of money.In summery, wed definitely recommend this venue. Stay on top of your stuff, make sure you understand the mansions terms, and trust in the system. It was a truly great experience and i will never forget it.

On the morning of our wedding, almost every vendor cancelled, but Julie and Bob were there to help in any way. Not only did they cater to our every need, but they did so in a loving and helping way.Us and our guests were trapped at the venue for days after due to the ice storm, and they didnt skip a beat, they provided us with warmth and even fed us while we were there!I got so many compliments on the beautiful venue and how accomodationg Julie and Bob were, I will recommend The Mansion at ColoVista to every couple I know!

We attended a wedding at the Mansion this weekend. The venue is beautiful and we really enjoyed it. The food was good and the service was friendly. They even served breakfast at the end of the wedding and it was delicious.The wedding ceremony was held outside and the weather was perfect , so that helped. They have a small gazebo overlooking a high bluff above the Colorado River. The backdrop is stunning.The wedding party stayed in cottages onsite. The guys were able to play golf the day before and the morning of the wedding, so they really enjoyed it.I was impressed and would definitely use this facility for a wedding or special event.
My brother not only got the dream of a wife but the dream of a wedding at The Mansion at ColoVista. We got dressed in the north wing of the Mansion in two large beautiful rooms with fireplaces and gorgeous furniture. We had our own private bathroom and large walk in closets. There was even an extra room to use for our breakfast and lunch. The staff brought us ice, coffee and water and we used beautiful wine glasses for our mimosas. We all felt pampered. Highly recommend this incredible place
My husband Ian and I got married at this beautiful mansion in March and all i can say is it was magical experience. The couple that run the mansion, Julie and Bobby, are the nicest, most accomodating hosts ever. They catered to my every need/whim and never made me feel like it was any trouble at all. All of their recommendations for vendors were superb. At one point during the reception we ran out of alcohol to serve our guests and i didnt even know it because Bobby took care of it. What a doll! His customer service was impeccable, as he ran the show since Julie was out of town the saturday of our wedding.For the wedding we rented out all of the cabins on property for my bridal party. BEST DECISION EVER! Not only where the cabins super cute, they were secluded and we were able to keep the party going well after the actual wedding was over.I am not a planner at all but I was able to pull off the most beautiful wedding (the wedding of my dreams) thanks to Bobby, Julie and the entire mansion staff. The service was top notch and the staff was so friendly. Not to mention the mansion was half the cost of all of the other venues we considered and included so much more.I would highly recommend the mansion to any couple needing a place for 250 of thier closest friends and family. You will not regret it! People are still coming up to us saying that our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to and we agree. Thank you Julie and Bobby for making our day one we will remember forever.
This venue is beautiful. The staff is helpful, and can help you have a fabulous event with friends and family. Everyone will fine their favorite room in the mansion, because the decor is suited for many tastes! The bridal suite is so special, and the elegant windows let in plenty of light for great pictures. The views over the valley are breathtaking, and would be a photographer’s dream. My favorite touch is the delicate “resurrection moss” hanging from the huge live oak on the back lawn. It reminds me of the antebellum mansions in the south.The staff is accessible, but not in the way. Bastrop is a great destination for your wedding or family reunion. The cottages make this a wonderful place for wedding parties that want to stay in close proximity to the venue.And, as a resident of ColoVista, I must say that we have the coolest neighbors and the best golf, so leave enough time to catch a quick 18 before heading home!
Last month my husband and I got married at the mansion at Colo Vista. We both were very pleaaed with our experience. We highly recommend this venue and the wonderful staff that made our big day perfect. From the first time we went to walk the mansion and met Julie and Bobby we knew that she was the one and that was the place that we wanted to have our wedding at. She was very upfront and transparent about everything from the beginning. She and I met probably a dozen times prior to the wedding to go over every detail from seating to table placement to rummaging thru the walk in closet of decor she had available for us to use. The amount of decor I borrowed cut down on the amount I had to buy tremendously and saved me alot of money. The day could not have gone more perfect. Every thing went off without a hitch. Julie and her staff did an excellent job making sure all we had to do was enjoy the moment. She paid attention to every little detail for us and I am very grateful for that. Again we would highly recommend Julie and her staff. Thanks again guys.
We had our wedding at the Mansion in March. Julie and Bobby were so accommodating and the wedding was everything we could have ever imagined. The photos speak for themselves at how perfect this venue is! I could not have asked for a better venue to host my wedding.
Me and my Husband just had our wedding here and it was wonderful. The owners are the nicest people you could meet. They really work with you and answer all your questions. They made my wedding day run smoothly and keep the stress off of me. The place is so stunning that you dont really require many decorations to leave you in aww.

So I was reading through some of the reviews, and found some negative reviews. I definitely wanted to share my thoughts and experience there. First off, let’s me start off with customer service! OMG! They are so good, helping you out with any questions that you might have. They completely understand that if your getting married, your stress level is pretty high sometimes. So, having the customer service that good definitely helped calm a lot of situations, especially Bobby! He is such a great guy in going the extra mile for you in any of your needs!I got married on May 19th here, and right away I felt like family with Bobby, Julie, and the rest of the other staff there. Me and my now beautiful wife can say that we had our dream wedding here at cola vista.I would definitely giving this venue a chance, and if you’re on the fence about it, I’d encourage you to come, make an appointment and check it out. I was iffy at first when my now wife asked me if we could get married here, and after meeting the great staff, Julie and Bobby, they make you feel like it’s there wedding also, so they work that much harder for you. And don’t get me started with the view and the beauty of the mansion, I said yes to the decision in getting married here quick!... btw, quick note about our cottage!It was clean, with a beautiful view, and had a awesome little refrigerator that housed our leftovers from our wedding to eat in the morning :DThank you Julie, for all the help you did for us! *anyone that leaves a review with the last name Browne is Julie’s family.*We booked colovista for our wedding day. The first contract we signed was for August 10, 2019 but they “forgot” that they had some annual golf event that day so we had to move it back to August 17, 2019. We got $300 off for their mistake.Then we were told about a bar fee in April that wasn’t in our contract. Then at that time she wanted to charge us $35 an hour for each bartender when we were told $25. The day of the wedding we found out that her husband was one of the two bartenders, which by the way he couldn’t pour keg beer.The week before the wedding she lets me know that the day of coordinated had quit. All of these great reviews revolve around this coordinator which I was really hoping and she’s what I paid for, so honestly didn’t get my money’s worth there. She took it upon herself to take on the role. Julie bossed every person around including myself, my husband, our bridal party and my parents. You get one chance to do your wedding. Here is just some of the stuff that happened. Look on their Facebook for the full list.-didn’t hand out any of our koozies. Our guest didn’t even know we had them.-we never got to eat the bridal party because Julie told us we were too behind on time. Instead, my bridal party sat in the bridal room. My husband and I didn’t get to eat anything that night.-I bought a $40 vase I bought for my wedding and Julie lost it. It wasn’t until the end of the night when I asked her for it that she found it in their decor closet!-my mom found my memory sign for my dad, my ceremony sign all outside Sunday morning. They left them outside all night.-she refused to open the side room that we paid for! We had a 250 guest count and had 120, so a lot of our guest Julie sent upstairs to eat. Which as a resolute I had a lot of family leave because they felt left out.- while we were taking pictures she put my bridal party (which was 14 people) in a room and had the lady she hired block them in and she told them Julie told her to stand in front of the door and not to let them out like they were caged animals.-Every wedding I’ve been in they do a countdown 1 hour, 30 minuets, so on to let the parties know when it’s starting. I had no idea and no track of time that we were about to start until my bridesmaids were yelling to keep the door shut because my husband was lined up right outside the door about to walk down the aisle, Julie never thought to tell me that when she knew we were going in and out of the bridal suite. My husband almost saw me, not sure if Julie did that on purpose or not. But he was very close to seeing me right before the ceremony because Julie failed to tell me he was outside my bridal room.I can’t stress it enough. Please stay away from them. They don’t care about your wedding day. They care about their money and that’s it. I wish I knew before how horrible they are. It breaks my heart. You have one day and it’s suppose to be amazing and mine was everything but.
There aren’t enough words to explain how grateful my family and I are to have chosen this venue for our recent wedding. Julie and Bobby Browne are the most humble, accommodating people I’ve met. From start to end we always felt taken care of as an extension of the Colovista family. They are the real power couple, trying to make others dreams and visions come true. Any bump in the road (which happened to only be the weather) was handled with grace and with close attention to our needs. I will shout to the rooftops and recommend these lovely hosts and location again and again! We will defiantly be visiting soon! Thank you a million + for all ya’ll do! I couldn’t have had such an amazing wedding with out Mr. & Mrs. Browne!

This elegant southern mansion with views of the Colorado River valley is a real jewel and a convenient venue for weddings between Austin and Houston. As an event professional, I can really appreciate all the extras that come with the rental like plenty of hours, plenty of space, beautiful lawns, attentive staff, nice chairs, tables and linens all included, and ceremony and reception setup handled for our brides, both indoors and outdoors making this venue a real value.
My husbands job held their annual holiday party at Colovista this year and the venue is absolutely amazing, and the food was incredible! This was a fantastic treat for a group of hard working individuals! what an honor it was to celebrate with them at such a beautiful venue! This place is absolutely stunning!!

What can I say, Im back at the Mansion again. Here for a wedding. The scenic overlook is incredible. Sun is setting and its finally cooler out. The staff here is awesome. I feel like Im on vacation. Definitely worth checking out. 😃
I had the most amazing experience! Julie and Bobby are the greatest! The cottages are very clean and feels like home. The pool is great and amazing view.
Attended a cocktail party recently and liked the locale and the facilities. Only issue is the location and not enough Street lights at the entrance.
Attended a weekend getaway wedding (April 18th) that was fabulous! The owners were so accommodating and the venue was perfect!
I love this place, its so beautiful. The staff and experience with the service was top notch. Bob at the golf shop was super helpful and the greens were clean and well manicured. I cant recommend it more. Definitely worth the drive from Austin.

2022-01-06My daughters wedding was at The Mansion at Cola Vista and it could not have been more perfect. The venue itself is gorgeous. Additionally, we had Katherine and Becky as coordinators who took care of every tiny detail. Katherine even stitched up the officiants pants minutes before the ceremony! We highly recommend The Mansion for any wedding or party.

2021-07-20Truly a hill country view wedding destination. Spectacular view all around. The backyard has big mature trees 🌳 a platform to get married. Golf course, pool, cottages that you can rent and a rose garden. The staff are wonderful as well. Its very romantic for a wedding. I love love love

2020-03-15My wife and i got married here at the end of February on a Saturday (leap year!) and while this phrase is often over used, i can promise it fits the occasion: it was perfect. we had planned it out for about a year and from all the vendors who we found (catering, video, photo) to the ones Julie recommended (DJ, bartenders) were just awesome. both Julie and Bobby really are the best. they were always on-point with meeting prior to the big day, getting access, day-of (thankfully weather was beautiful) into the evening, and even the next day helping make sure we left with all our belongings. the venue space itself is such a great find and getting married out on the back area overlooking the hill country.. again - it was all we could have asked for. the cottages were a huge plus as well since we had so many people coming from out of town and wanted to keep people central to one area for the days leading up. theyre like basic hotel rooms that back up to the golf course and we put on an after-party down there after our wedding. i cant recommend both the venue and Julie + Bobby highly enough. meet them once and visit it and you will understand.

2019-01-16Julie, Bobby and the staff were terrific from coordinating to execution as well as accommodating. Their relationship with the staff only helps to highlight their professionalism and attention to detail. Our sons and new daughters wedding in December went off without a hitch due to their experience. The cottages are a major plus. I would not hesitate to recommend the Mansion for any event.

2020-01-06A beautiful, vintage-feel venue with fantastic owners. Julie was available to help with my every question and request all throughout the wedding planning. Day of, she and the coordinators were on top of everything and made our special day an absolute breeze. I also particularly like that the venue has so much to offer: same place ceremony and reception sites (outdoor/indoor ceremony options and upstairs and downstairs space), lodging just down the hill, tables/chairs/linens, and an entire closet full of decor you can use!I had my wedding here in December and the views are still spectacular out on the back lawn. My family and guests had nothing but good things to say about the mansion and how lovely it is.

2019-12-27My husband and I got married at the mansion back in November and it totally exceeded our expectations! The venue is gorgeous and has some amazing views -- we decided to go out to the 15th hole to take some pictures at the last minute and Im so glad we did because they turned out AMAZING! Everything was so beautiful and the whole event went off without a hitch thanks to Julie, Bobby, and the rest of the wonderful staff at the mansion! They made some great recommendations for vendors and helped us walk through our ideas for decorating the mansion... it really made that part of the planning process seem so much easier! Julie worked tirelessly with me in the weeks leading up to the wedding to get the tables/seating EXACTLY how I wanted so we could maximize the space and seat all of our guests downstairs. They were so accommodating and even allowed us to come a day early to start setting up so we didnt have to worry about it all on the day of, which was a HUGE relief! It was also super convenient being able to rent the cottages on-site so our wedding party could stay close by and continue the celebration after the reception ended! Our day truly felt like a dream and Im still amazed and so grateful that everything went so smoothly! I highly recommend this venue -- you cant beat the views or the people!

2019-11-23Julie and Bobby were amazing to work with. They made sure we were taken care of in all aspects of the wedding. We cant say enough good things about both Julie and Bobby as well as the Venue itself. These two make sure everything is in order and having the included day-of coordinators really helped with making the entire day run smoothly and efficiently. Also having the decorations closet to add to our own decorations made things simple and kept the venue elegant. Their level of professionalism was only exceeded by their hard work and flexibility to help make our special day (weekend with the onsite cabins) amazing.
