The Porch in other cities:
They must do a good breakfast because with the dinner we had was just bad. This food i would expect for a teenage kid would make. Ordered the French Dip with fries. Hardly any meat and meat was over cooked. The dip sauce taste like they just put some beef consomme in a bowl and too salty. French fries frozen out of a bag. Over all I can see why almost no one was eating there on a wonderful Friday evening
3.5-4 starsThis place use to be amazing but now it’s subpar. It looks the same but doesn’t feel the same anymore the staff is mediocre but food took a long time and when we asked for cheese on my sons burger we didn’t get it then when I asked he said it didn’t come with it even though I asked for it to be added on and my family member asked for no tomato’s on her omelette it came loaded in them when we asked about that he said it was just on top didn’t offer to take it back or anything. Tomatoes ended up all in it too as well as on top.
My hubby and I were headed home after a hot day at Scarborough Renaissance Festival. We decided to stop in and try The Porch. Its a quaint little place with a delicious homecookin type menu. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and a side salad. Its not extra to have a side salad as one of your sides. It is extra to have a side salad in addition to your sides. My hubby had the porch burger. That thing is huge. I hate that I didnt take pictures. I was too hot and tired to think straight. LOLDefinitely stop in and enjoy the homey atmosphere or the big porch if the weathers nice.
Please follow us at SNDTravels on Facebook and Instagram.Update!9.4.20 Back again for maybe the fourth time and once again we were not disappointed. We didnt get pictures because we dove right in and didnt think about it until it was to late. Mom had the senior salad with fried chicken and she loved it. Romaine lettuce was crisp and the chicken was tender and crispy as well. I had the chicken fried steak sandwich with cheese and the steak was as good as I have had, and I have tried thousands. The meat was so tender there was almost no resistance biting through the sandwich. The potato bun made a real good addition. Diane had the fried catfish and loved the flavor and the portion size of fish was filling. She also has onion rings and mentioned that the fish and rings were great tasting but could have been cooked just a hair longer to make them crisper. Mom and I both had the homemade potato chips which we love and they were great as always. Once again highly recommended and this time three-thumbs up. 👍👍👍First review. So its been a long time since weve traveled but having to drive to Burleson for tractor parts we decided to check out a mom and pop restaurant in Old Town called The Porch. Still not eating inside because my mom is a high risk person we sat outside on, of course, the porch. Rachel our server was very kind and helpful as was everyone we encountered that was staff. Mom had a senior sized chicken fried steak with house made potato chips, Diane had the daily special which was fish tacos and I had the BLT with onion rings. Well start out by saying that everything is handmade and hand battered including the taco shells and the hamburger buns. The senior size CFS was the size a lot of places serve as regular. The breading was seasoned well and the steak was exceptionally tender. The tacos shells were like a thin pita fried just crispy enough they were crunchy but soft enough they didnt break apart. Diane decided on grilled fish instead of fried and the piece of fish was the perfect size, flaky and tender. Both Mom and Diane had chips and they were crisp and good. Now for the only problem. When these two plates were brought out Rachel informed me that the kitchen had just said they were out of bacon. She apologized as the kitchen should have told her when the order was placed. I ordered the cheese burger with onion rings. The burger was decent size patty but very good and the homemade bun was a great addition. The onion rings were crispy and really really good. Overall the service was a little slow but the friendly atmosphere and awesome food made it worth while. We look forward to returning again when we are in the area. Three thumbs-up 👍👍👍.
BYOB. Tuesday morning not busy, attentive waitress. Reasonable prices. Place has American and Hispanic breakfast choices. See menu pics. Place is similar to our place seeing general clientele are of an older generation. Good coffee, was offered 1/2+1/2 or French vanilla cream. Wife ordered the SoS w/hash browns and I got The Hangover w/home style fries. Order hash brown crispy and they were good. Home style fries are delicious. Wife said the sausage tastes store bought. They used red onions on my omelet. Chili tastes like Hormel/wolf. Fried stuffed jalapenos are amazing. Warm syrup. Good pancakes. Over all very pleased.
Best coconut chocolate cream pie Ive ever had! The grilled veggies were perfectly cooked, still actually tasted and looked like seasonal veg. In-house baked popovers with honey butter and REAL mashed potatoes! The food was excellent! The decor could use a little brightening up, but I think its really a rustic style , that Im not partial.Go here and eat,The Porch is delicious!
Total comfort food. We had pot roast with mashed potatoes and a cucmber salad (I dont recommend the cucumber salad. It was very soggy.) Hubby had chipotle chicken sandwich, onion rings/fries. We also decided to take a piece of pecan pie which was delicious. Id go back and try another one of their star signature dishes.
As a family band we travel all over the United States and even though we try to cook home meals in our RV, sometimes our schedule will not allow it. At that time we look for LOCAL restraunts that serve home cooked food. They are there if you look and youll find they have excellent food and great service too! THE PORCH is a great example. Food = 5 stars, service 5 stars, bathrooms 5 stars, prices 5 stars, so you see why we rated it 5 stars. A gem in the middle of the Old Town area!
Sat for an our with someone coming to our table one time. Finally had our drink order taken after 40 minutes, drinks brought out 10 minutes after that and were incorrect. Tables that arrived after us had been served. If I could leave no stars I would. This is really disappointing.
Just so darn disappointed. Just left there and not sure I’ll go back. We ordered wings and onion rings. The wings were mildly warm at best actually closer to cold. The onion rings were worse. The server did offer to take them to the kitchen and “see what they could do. Then asked if we wanted a to go box, really? I told her “ not eating this just bring me the check”. We did ask for a manager, and we’re promptly brought the check which I did ask for. Paid the $30.00 and left. The first two times we were there it was very good. Just don’t think we can overcome this horrible experience.
This little diner has been around for a while and I had totally forgotten about it. I wasnt disappointed when I found it again and had breakfast. Everything I ate was delicious - the breakfast tacos, the home fries, the biscuit and sausage gravy. Even their coffee is great. You cant go wrong here.
Already passed a bunch of breakfast spots to eat here, and Im not a coffee drinker, and I was already set off by the hot drink options. They offer coffee, no hot tea, but they have iced and sweet tea. We sat at a sticky table and the service was slow. I didnt even get silverware, pretty evident I shouldnt come back.
The Porch is one of those places that just has solid food with a relaxed hometown atmosphere. At breakfast times several tables are usually occupied by the town old-timers groups, all of whom are some cool old guys with a wealth of knowledge about the town and area in general.
Restaurant had that nice small town country feel to it, the omelet I ordered came quickly and was delicious, all the ingredients tasted fresh and everything was cooked very well. The staff was very nice. Reminded me of my grandmother since she had worked in a dinner just like this for most of her life, and to me that was priceless.
As usual, the food was delicious and our server was super friendly! We even got to hear a story from an elderly lady that had been sitting at a table nearby. She was so cute and enjoyed entertaining us all. Thats the kind of atmosphere at The Porch that keeps us going back!
Hometown food that tastes like its all made from scratch. I always get the Texas Scrambler and its not greasy, the gravy is thick and creamy and the eggs are delicious. My husband gets the French Toast Stacker and he always says how delicious it is. This place is a tradition for us. For the price, feel like you got your moneys worth and wont be snacking in an hour!
Wanted to try this place thinking it was close to home cooking, I was sadly mistaken. My husband & I were seated quickly, got our drink orders in a timely manner, but our food took waaaayyyyy too long to come. We just sat at the table twiddling our thumbs ( other patrons were complaining about the wait as well). When our food came our potatoes and biscuits were warm, but my husbands turkey bacon was soggy, my eggs were very cold, and my steak was cold, dry, and very chewy. We then waited again for our waitress to check on us & bring our check. Very disappointing experience.
We enjoyed lunch outside on a TX day not made for outdoor lunch dining... we had a dog!!😒 The three kids 6-13 ordered short stax as big as their heads. No one came close to halfway but they were delicious! I had a delicious salad with pecans and dried cranberries with a lovely raspberry dressing! Well plan to visit again in sweatshirt weather, if we must take the dog again!
Loved sitting on porch. Very active downtown and people casually walking around. The bathrooms were really dirty which in my opinion brings the whole rating down. Toilet wouldnt flush. Grime everywhere. Visiting a dirty bathroom before getting meal doesnt exactly do great things for the appetite.
This is my first time coming to this restaurant. I had actually googled breakfast places near me & this was one of the choices. I decided to go because I saw good reviews and I was glad i went. Our waitress was really nice. She made sure our order was correct. The food was good. Small place inside but cozy. I would definitely go again.
Had an ok experience. Prior reviews I had read left me wanting more. Had the chicken fried steak and eggs. And eggs Benedict. Maybe I came in with high expectations but food was ok. Service was ok as well. Maybe Ill come in for some lunch and see if thats their niche. Not a bad place but will give it one more try.
My husband and I love to eat here its our go to place. The food is so much better then Elks Diner. Their sausage gravy and biscuits is amazing. Make sure you have some pie or take a slice home, you wont regret it. The staff is always friendly. We are always greeted with a smile and a hello. Server are back at your table several times. We love The Porch and yall will too.
Tried out because of the reviews. Was not impressed... Service was not good. We got our food but the waitress never brought rolls with the entrees. Never refilled our drinks. And they were not that busy. Overpriced,my wifes chicken was very dry, the mixed vegetables were 90 percent onions and peppers. We were looking for a home food place in Burleson. This will not be it.
Don’t even bother with the night manager Susan. Service was extremely subpar, and I could hear her yelling at the other waiters and waitresses, who, from what I saw, were trying their hardest and doing well. When I complained about the noise and service, I was met with an eye roll from Susan and snotty remarks. Very, very disappointed. Food was great, thanks to the cooks, who I have no doubt also got yelled at for nothing by this Susan lady.
The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, and the prices were very reasonable. We sat outside and had breakfast. Our server Abby was very polite and constantly came to check on us even though she was serving folks inside as well. Highly recommend The Porch and I will definitely be coming back next time we are in town.
Today was my first visit and I can not say enough about how good our meals were! My daughter and I both had the Monte Cristo Sandwich and I had coleslaw for my side. Now, I have had this sandwich made other places and always been pleased ... But the Porch made a Monte Cristo to beat all others. Amazingly good. Coleslaw is usually a hit or miss for me when dining out .. too sweet, or too tart or just somehow not right. But the coleslaw I had today was perfection! Lightly sweet with not too much tang. I could have eaten a bucket full. My little grandson ordered the bacon cheese omelette with hash browns. He was very pleased to the point of not leaving one crumb on his plate. All in all we enjoyed absolutely wonderful meals and very friendly and attentive service. We will for sure be returning many times over!!
Great food and service first time definitely not my last. If you have shellfish allergies be aware they do not have fryer for just shellfish according to the Manager second trip was my last my fiance broke out and lip swelled due to cross contamination she is highly allergic to shellfish
Sat down and waited 10 minutes, given water, waited some more the waitress came over and asked me what I wanted to order. I didnt have a menu like I said to her. She said okay on your cell phone go to our web page to see our menu otherwise you got to go stand by the door, where they have a menu attached to the wall, to figure out what you want. Went to the front door & left. Drove to Our Place, great service, great food, and they showed me there limited menu.
Great place to eat a slice of pie outside on the porch. Their chicken fried steak is one of the best I have had and I am known to eat a chicken fried steak or two. In fact, they use to call me chicken fry guy back when I used to play ball for College U. That last sentence isnt true, but everything else is. Check it out!
The food looks fresh but flavorless. I order a chicken fried steak, now thats one of my favorite texas meals I love me a good cfs but this one is no where near my favorites it was with no flavor what so ever. My companion order migas with chorizo weve had them at other places and this was nothing to what we know of migas Im sorry but i wouldnt recommend this place to anyone if the cfs had a better tasting a different story be told.
This is the second time Ive been here first time service and food was awesome. This time service was poor was sipping on the melted ice when the waitress finally came and filled up my glass she only filled it up halfway and then acted like I was inconveniencing her. The food was not that good this time.
EXCELLENT!!!So, I hadnt been in about 5 years. Met a friend for an early breakfast today. Service was fantastic, great breakfast roast coffee, food was very good! Was super clean inside, and probably the cleanest restrooms in Burleson (I drank a lot of coffee, so...).I will now be dragging the family there.Great job, Porch fiends!!!!
Great breakfast place. Havent tried their lunch or dinner but the breakfast is really good. I can eat a ton of food for $8. For $8 you get their works omelet with hash browns and pancakes which fills me up. I can barely finish it. Service is pretty good depending on who serves you. Only reason I reluctantly give it 5 stars is that they get a lot of old folks early in the morning who sometimes are hackers. Those that enjoy the weekly carton of smokes. Its no fault of the restaurant and if youre a normal person who isnt up super early like me youll probably never have these issues. For me though hearing someone hack their way through their morning coffee isnt very good on the appetite. Otherwise terrific restaurant and by far the best breakfast you can get locally including Our Place.
A friend and I met up for breakfast here. I had never been here, but had heard good things. Even on a Saturday morning, we waited about 2 minutes for a table. Our waitress was super friendly, and took great care of us. It took less than 10 minutes for our orders to be ready, and it was delicious. Very much looking forward to coming back.
This restaurant used to be so good. I cant really say what happened, but Im thinking its just the service. The food is still pretty good, but now they season it way too much. I asked for no seasoning on my grilled chicken and it was covered so I didnt eat it. The potatoes were over salted and they used to be perfect. The last three times weve been here hoping it was back to normal amd it again wasnt. The porch pie was our favorite and we couldnt even eat it. Were really disappointed because this used to be our spot. Breakfast is still good though.
Seleca was very friendly and provided the best service we have had in at least the last few years hands down. The food was amazing, you can taste the difference of scratch made food. The prices were fair. The ownership is definitely doing it right at this restaurant. Will recommend to everyone we know. Was recommended to us by Jellystone Park that we are staying at for our family vacation.
We arrived at this place for lunch. This spot was recommended to us by a friend. Well, it was very nice. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we had a great feeling. The meal was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed every moment and we shall absolutely come back again. Highly recommended.
Its a very nice home-style cooking restaurant similar to Our Place, but food wasnt as good. It was still decent, but I wasnt too impressed. I ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and cole slaw and taste was average. It kind of missed a bit of spice and it may have been lacking some salt. The restaurant itself is really nice and interestingly decorated.I havent tried their breakfast menu, but my husband said the pancakes were good. The best part of it was that it wasnt too busy even at 6pm.
Were in the area visiting family. This was one place on our list to visit. What a great place. We can only comment on we had had off the lunch menu. The chicken fried steak, green beans and mashed potatos were really good. The gravy was spot on. The catfish was also really good. The only mark against our meals would be the seasoning/batter on the fried okra was very bland, other than that though well be back again before we leave.
Food excellent!! Wait staff very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is very clean. Parking spaces are lacking, not enough room for handicaps, but they do a great business, so not everyone shares my thoughts on parking. Will return there over and over. It is that good.
I cook 7 days a week because I love cooking. But this day, I felt like being cooked for. I jumped online looking for some down home cooking and found The Porch. Best decision ever! French Toast and bacon hit the spot. I even surprised myself by ordering pie. The Porch pie tasted even better eating it while watching TV. Everyone should treat themselves once in awhile. And when you do, let The Porch hook you up. You wont regret it.
Me and my wife came up here on a Sunday lunch. We ordered a chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak was fair. The mashed potatoes were yummy. And the place was a little disgusting. I did however enjoy watching the manager son help clean the tables and complaining to one of the hosts that she did not do a very good job wiping down the table. It was quite hilarious and entertaining. The pie is quite good though.
The service I received was terrible!! I didn’t get a greeting just a stare from a young boy. I asked for a menu and he seemed to be upset about something. At that time I asked did we have a problem and he just shook his head no.He handed me the menu and then asked did I know about the specials. He rambled something off and walked away. I looked over the menu and waited for someone to come back and take my order. No one came around. But other people were walking in and just going to empty tables and sitting down.Because of the rude attitude from the host/greeter or waiter or whatever he was. I didn’t spend a dime. I heard the food was good but never got a chance to order anything to find out. And this place is under renovation it appears and also the cross streets to get to this place.
Im giving a 5 star rating due to the fact the food is always fresh and our waitress Patricia was very sweet and attentive. The evening was coming to an end and as usual we take a few extra minutes to chat up our waitress in order to get to know them a bit better.. I mean they do serve us our food and as we are gathering our things up some lady comes in and loudly burst out with Its 8 oclock Freddy said turn the lights off! So our waitress had to leave in the middle of our conversation to turn off the window signs when clearly the lady that walked in couldve just as easily done it herself. I found her to be very RUDE... Who does that? Im a manager in a customer service based business and that kind of behavior is not tolerated it makes people not want to shop/eat in places like that. It made me feel very unwelcomed...
If I could give this place no stars I would, today was my second time ordering from there... the first time it was horrible... this time they got my order all wrong over the phone but when I showed up and I told then that it was my fault... when I asked for a manager I was told their is no manager... I also asked for oreo pie and was told their was none... but apron arriving their where two pieces in their fridge thing... I asked for a number to a manager since their was no manager their... and was told it’s the same number from the store... the lady was very rude and thought something was very funny... horrible customer service
First time here and not coming back. Order migas and instead of tortilla chips was a bunch of jalapeño. The server offer to remake it We told her was to many jalapeños anyways they remake it with the chips but another bunch of jalapeño. The rest of the food was flavorless.
The Porch is a laid back family dining eatery. It’s located behind Babe’s Chicken in an old house that’s been converted into a restaurant. The food was pretty good but a bit bland for my tastes. The service was excellent. I’ve been there just once but I think it deserves another try. It’s a good place for a quiet lunch or dinner.
It was very ordinary, I wanted a steak, they didnt serve. So I had a burger, I should have left because it was the driest burger and bun I ever had and tea tasted like rust water. And had to read menu before sitting down. I could go on, but Im not going back so I wont waste any more of my time.
I told my husband, I said lets pick a place weve never been to before . So we chose The Porch and we were pleasantly surprised the food was really good large portions more than what I could eat I brought home enough I could probably eat for 2 days LOL. Waitress was super sweet very helpful and very fast. My husband and I will definitely be going back there. Yall gotta try them out if you havent yet.Happy customers😃
Really disappointed. Very bland. Service was great but food wasnt very good. Had the fried bacon- sucked. Had the buffalo wings- they have no buffalo wing flavor, I asked for sauce to dip it in and got grocery store boring sauce. Not good. I would not recommend going.
Hands down one of the best small town restaurants Ive been to some of their employees are top-notch at customer service made us feel very welcome and make sure we were taking care of Sarah was her name I believe but she was amazing the atmosphere is great and their Mushroom Swiss burger is the bomb
Our third time here. Cant say we havent tried. Had breakfast again. The bacon was so fatty I couldnt stomach it, I had to return the eggs because they border lined uncooked, and the place was empty so it wasnt because they were busy. It appeared all young adults were in charge, so may be an issue? Were really wanted to love it and be a place we could come often but sadly, this was our last visit.
The first time we came it was pretty good. We were excited to find a breakfast place near our house. The several visits after have left us very disappointed however. Served cold food, not cooked as ordered, chewy bacon, soggy fries, over 8 dollars for a bland frozen patty burger. long wait times when there are only 5 tables seated... We would happily put up with mediocre food and service just for the convience.. But unfortunatly they seem to be struggling to provide even that.
Terrible service, the waitress paid no attention to who ordered what. Gave me the wrong food. I ordered chicken fried chicken and they gave me chicken fried steak. The person next to me got my plate. Food was fair at best. The extra gravy i asked for had u funky taste and I dont want to say what may have been added. Will never go there again, hope they get shut down
I got a breakfast combo. Chocolate milk, pancakes, eggs, hash browns and sausage. The hash browns were soft like they just boiled a potato, grated it and slapped it on the plate. Chocolate milk was watery. The sausage tasted like it came from the frozen section at your local grocery. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak sandwich... Meh. It was okay at best. The service wasnt horrible, got our drinks refilled and what not.... but our waitress was very dull and unfriendly. The best thing about the place is the name of it and that it looks cute on the outside. Its not terrible if you dont mind flavorless food. But a lot of locals love it so dont mind me.
Service was terrible. Biscuits were hard, waitress got our order wrong, food was very dry. Staff was not welcoming at all! Very disappointed! This place was recommended at the place where we stayed over the week. Needless to say i will no longer pay attention to the recommended places to eat. They seem to cater more to regular locals even the couple that was sitting on the porch had a bad experience.
The waiter was very informative and knew a lot about their food. ( found out later hes the owners son) but it was nice to have a dinner that tasted like it was home cooked. Because it was. And $2.00 pie slices cant be beat. Very comfortable restaurant and we really enjoyed it.
I went here with my family of 4 2 weeks ago. We were seated quickly and given drinks but then we were left alone for 45 minutes. I flagged down a waitress who took our order but then another 45 minutes passed and we just left. We were in the restaurant for 2 hours and never given food. I understand busy times, but it was 12:30pm when we showed up and it wasnt too bad. Please either staff well or let your customers know that the wait for food will be well over an hour before we waste our time.
-Burleson Local Reviewer-The Good: It was easy to get a table, and the food only took about 15 mins to get to table. Service was excellent and the waiters were friendly and welcoming. The Bad: I ordered the Porch burger. It was, just strange and pretty bland. I wanted to try one of their signature dishes, but honestly this thing needs some work. The meats did not taste well together, ham with burger just isnt good. Also it was pretty bland and flavorless. There are ceiling fans directly below the light created a strobing effect that made the ambiance feel wierd and very distracting. Most of the menu items need to be spiced up a bit, because they are pretty simple and bland.
Best. Breakfast. Ever. This place is a small venue but the prices are good and the food is even better. I had been a frequent guest of another restaurant for breakfast for years but after eating here I will not be returning to my old stand by. Seriously breakfast food is just more of the same ole same ole for me but I have found myself craving that french toast almost sandwich again.
This place is small enough that when you walk in everyone looks at you lol. BUT Let me tell y’all..... I had the machaca and it tastes just like my mamas homemade machaca. The tortillas are warmed up with just a little itsy bitsy char. Just like we do at home. Mis respetos. We found this coming out to Burleson to get a Cel fixed! Will tell everyone in Fort Worth about this little gem.
Wow!!Country feeling place , our waitress ( Stacy) was super, the all you can eat catfish was tasty and moist the appetizer was out of site Chicken fried bacon!!! Whoever thought of it is pure genius.. onion rings are out of this world flavorful and crunchy and tender onion. The wife loved the fresh salad not covered in other stuff just a simple salad. Place was clean and uncluttered. Only two gripes I had are the hush puppies and the seasoning on the liver and onions. If the hush puppies were homemade it would be so much better and a simple salt and black pepper would be good enough for the liver an onion dishOverall it was good and when in Burleson Ill visit again
We just finished dinner here and the only thing good about our birthday dinner was the waitress and how hard she tried. Even though it was obvious nobody trained her. We used to eat here all the time but this will definitely be the last time we come here,. It is very apparent that there is no management of any kind and the lady that I think was management is doing a horrible job.Food was cold. Didnt get our orders right at all and then tells me we cant break a 100 dollar bill for a forty dollar ticket. I cant 31 press how disappointed and upset I am a out our money spent here
I WAS TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY THE AMAZING STAFF, FOOD AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My family and I were instantly greeted by a couple leaving the restaurant and our waitress held the door open for us as we entered the restaurant! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, but part of me want to keep it a secret for myself.
Stopped in today and had a wonderful great tasting lunch. It is in a little old house off Renfro about a block west of Babes on S Wilson. The service and food were worth the drive from Ft Worth. Cant wait to go back. Try the jalapeno chicken breast in a cream sauce and the grilled veggies. They couldnt have been any better! And it looked like they have homemade icebox pies, but we couldnt have eaten another bite. May go back just to try those pies!
Friendly staff, never having been before, I arrived aptoximately 15 minutes prior the closing time. I apologized to the server who laughed and said it wasnt an issue. The liver and onions was delicious, my partners cat fish cooked to perfection. We will be back, but earlier in the day!
Stopped in on way from San Antonio to Fort Worth. They were about to close(we made it with 2 minutes to spare) and when we found out, we said we would come back another time. They were insistent that we stay and eat. We ordered quickly as to not hold them up any longer. We ordered the Sunday special which was 5.99 burger and fries special. Homemade bun and fresh meat, one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time!! This is Burleson’s jackpot! Fast service, wonderful service and awesome food! We will be back when traveling through the area next time!
Came here for breakfast with my wife. Coffee was really good and hot. I had the migas, with chorizo, hash browns with cheese on top. Food was pretty good, a bit spicy(which I like). Its not the best Ive ever had, but I enjoyed it. My wife had the banana batter pancakes, they were larger than expected, they tasted good, but the banana flavor wasnt strong as I expected. Price was pretty reasonable. Over all I think its a good choice for breakfast.
No bacon, no French fries this visit. They ran out. When I asked to have our kid eat free w 2 paying adults due to inconvenience. Im the Karen aka bad guy. ,Lack of leadership/management. No mgr came to our table. When I called after I left Gayle the mgr using that term lightlyhung up on me but said Have a blessed day. So I guess that that was OK ...#Old Pancake House whoo hooCant wait to try Im betting they have bacon.
I thought I would try The Porch restaurant because it has such great reviews. Upon entering the Burleson location I felt unwelcome. I stood at the front of the restaurant waiting to be acknowledged for sometime before a group of caucasian women entered. They were immediately acknowledged. They were asked to wait a second to be seated. They told the waitress that I had been waiting before them and the waitress then told them hastily to seat themselves. I assumed that meant I was also to seat myself so I did. That same waitress kept giving me a look like she didnt want me there. The little boy assisting them was sent to get my drink order and another waitress came to the table to take my order but by then I felt too uncomfortable to eat there so I left. I guess people of color arent welcome.........

2022-02-07It was a cold morning and early when we got there. We were greeted immediately upon entering. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food was plentiful and tasty. I especially liked the home fries. I had an omelet and my husband had pancakes. The pancakes were generous in size. Would definitely go there again.

2022-06-01We had breakfast there and it was amazing! Set in the scenic downtown area, if you visit The Porch, take a walk around and see the other amazing restaurants and stores they have to offer. The Porch had beautiful breakfast options and an extensive lunch and dinner menu that would make anyone a happy duck. Absolutely delicious and reasonably priced, I really expected a bigger bill when it was time to pay.

2022-02-06Older home converted into an American style diner. Only been there once early on a Sunday morning. Food was nice, hot and tasty. I got the Sweet Multigrain short stack. My wife got the spinach and feta omelet. Both tasted good and portions were huge. Well definitely return if were in Burleson again.

2022-05-30We really enjoyed breakfast at The Porch! This hidden gem had so many options and was way better than a greasy dive. Tex Mex options, traditional breakfast, and it was all delicious! Service was great and the restaurant was very clean!

2022-03-22This is my first visit. Its really a nice place... small but nice. Its too bad their first impression was horrible: no greeting at the door. We had to seat ourselves, while we watched others that arrived after we did get seated and waited on. As it stands now, I doubt Ill be back 😤I just wanted to take the time to to thank Fredy Rosa for responding to my review. Because you cared enough to answer, Im going to give it another shot. Thanks Fredy 👍

2022-03-22They can be slow but their burgers are the best!! If youre not in a hurry, 10/10 recommend. The best burgers Ive ever had. The sweet bun, crispy bacon, tasty meat, seasoned fries...Plus their Oreo pie is AMAZING!

2022-04-17My husband and I ate here for the first time last night. A server came right away to take our drink order. I asked for a Dr. Pepper. He looked down at my size which I’m all belly so it’s clear I’m pregnant and asked if I wanted diet. That was really rude to assume I’m just super fat. I’M 9 MONTHS PREGNANT and that was very offensive! The food was really good, but we were very rushed from the second we walked in. It wasn’t very busy so that was unnecessary. It’s not like they needed us to leave to make room for more people. The food was really hot so I started with my sides which weren’t so hot. My main part food had barely cooled down enough for me to eat it and I was asked if I wanted a to go box. I responded that no I was planning on eating my food. I saw no need for us to be rushed out of there when it wasn’t busy. I just wanted to relax for once and enjoy my food.
