The UPS Store in other cities:
Incredibly rude staff (Ruben). Most unprofessional experience from any business ever. If you need UPS, go to the Mail Center USA across the street.Took a large, double walled, prepaid box for drop off. Was called before leaving the parking lot and told my box would not be shipped because it contained alcohol. I assured Ruben it did not contain alcohol, but two vintage speakers instead. After returning to the store, I was told it was against Federal law to ship alcohol. I again told him the box did not contain alcohol. He then said that he was going to open the box and confiscate and destroy the liquor inside immediately. I welcomed him to open the box as long as it was repacked and sealed once he confirmed that there was no liquor inside, only two speakers as Ive said all along. He then opened the box and discovered two speaker boxes surrounded by recycled wine packing and NO ALCOHOL. After confirming that I was being truthful, instead of apologizing and resealing the box, he said that customers lie to him all the time regarding contents. Obviously insulted, I asked if he thought it was fair to assume I was lying simply because someone else did? I was then told that he couldnt ship the box because it was obviously a wine box, and that I would have to repackage the speakers before he could ship. He refused to process my prepaid shipment even though he confirmed it did not contain alcohol.I took the package across the street to Mail Center USA and was told there was no issue shipping the package. When I told them of my experience with Ruben, they laughed and said that if the package doesnt contain alcohol, its just a double walled box. UPS Store Corporate agreed. When I told them of my experience with Ruben, I was asked if he apologized after opening the shipment and finding out it was not alcohol. Not only was there no apology, he attempted to justify his distrust and rudeness by blaming it on prior customer experiences. I honestly have no idea how a business that treats customers this way still has any.Its no mystery why this place only has 3 stars (should be less), and the Mail Center USA across the street has 5.
I cant say enough good things about the folks who work at this UPS store location. Given the previous negative comments, I can tell you from personal experience theyre first class professionals and extremely helpful. Case in point, I was out of the country for 8 months and they dutifully took care of my huge stacks of mail, answered my email communications and ensured my mailbox remained active even during a short period of time when my 6 month rental period had expired. Now thats excellent customer service and dedication to their customers.
When I come to UPS its not because they can ship things, but its because of the customer service and expert knowledge that I am hoping to receive.... The 1 time I went there I received none of that! The manager Ruben is nothing more than a greasy salesman. During a time where job security changes day to day due to covid-19, I am needing to make every dollar stretch. I came in trying to get advice and help to ship my beloved wake board because I am in need of extra spending money to help keep the lights on, and not evicted from my apartment. Ruben proceeds to up-sell me on purchasing a box for the board and quotes me $150 plus to ship this item. I ask him if this is the cheapest way to ship this and he says yes. He then begins to package up the board up for me doesnt quote me a price until he is done, and then charges me $40.I proceed to go right across the street to USPS and they quote me $35, and tell me I dont need a box and can ship it in bubble wrap. So I then go back to ask for a refund for the box because I no longer have any use for it, and never needed it in the first place.Ruben proceeds to not refund me and not even give me a slight refund, and he says that because the box was made specifically for my item he no longer will have any use for it, and will not be giving me a refund.Meanwhile I reach out a friend of mine who works at the UPS store in Lakeway and he says that they refund situations like this all the time, and they would just leave it hanging around until somebody had something of that size to ship or that they would cut it up and use if for other smaller items in the future.I was taken advantage of by a money hungry manager.
After reading these reviews - my experience this evening seems very on brand for this particular UPS Store location. I arrived at the door of this UPS Store at 6:59 p.m. to find it locked. I admit that I was cutting it close, but as the closing time listed on the website and on the door of the store is 7:00 p.m., I thought that I had made it in time and would be helped with my very quick return and be on my way. After noticing that the door was locked, I looked at the screen of my phone to see that it had just turned 7:00 p.m. I then looked through the window of the door to see a man (based on reviews - undoubtedly this man was the manager) standing behind the desk making hand gestures to me similar to a book closing, apparently intended to indicate that the store was closed. I was unsure how to interpret his gestures, and continued to look at him, hoping that he may come to the door to discuss the situation. Instead, he made a very rude face, pointed to his watch several times in a very pronounced and mocking fashion, and shook his head no. Ive held several jobs in customer service, and I know that it can be a pain to have customers come right at the end of the day -- but given that the store was still technically supposed to be open when I arrived, and that the store was otherwise completely empty, I was a little shocked, and frankly infuriated, at his unprofessional and immature response. It is obvious to me that the door was locked prior to closing time as the employees were already standing behind the desk before 7:00 p.m. I understand this aspect. The store was empty, and it is not uncommon to start closing up a little early in those situations -- but the lack of respect for customers is what garnered my disdain. Any customer-oriented employee would have at least had the common decency to have a discussion with the potential client, rather than rudely gesturing through a window. Will not be using this location for any future needs, but am very keen to see how the manager rudely responds to this review in an attempt to justify his poor customer service.
The large man (my apologies I don’t know his name) that works the counter has always been so rude every time I’ve come in. I decided to write this review as it has been a reoccurring theme with this employee. I came in to return an Amazon package and he was very dismissive and REFUSED to help me. When I say refused, I mean he was unwilling to process my return because it was “a hassle to print the label.” Yes those were his words, a HASSLE to do his job and help a customer. In fact, he skipped over me in line twice and when he came to the 3rd person in line, that person kindly stood up for me and asked him if he was going to help me. The customer and the employee got into an argument as he was rude to her as well, and I ended up just walking out. This employee was unprovoked, I was very kind and did not make any faces or use any attitude in my tone of voice. I was apologetic that it was a hassle, to the point where another customer had to step in and stand up for me. I ended up just leaving without being helped and will return this item at a different UPS store. Again, this employee has been absolutely AWFUL every time I’ve come in but today it upset me so much that I need to warn others of avoiding this location all together. Don’t use this location!!!!!!!!!!!
This is long because details are important....rather thsn just adjectival praise or complaint. Its too bad these reviews never have a zero stars option. Or even negative for wgew they do harm beyond just bad service. I would rate my experience with UPS as minus two stars.UPS completely messed up an important shipment for the company I worked for, causing hardship, work delays, and missed deadlines. When I went into the store, angry but keeping my tone of voice calm, and professional -- I informed the manager of the problems and asked for expedited shipment of the package at no cost. I did not even demand compensation for the company losses this instance of UPS incompetence caused. He made some snarky comment I dont remember exactly. The manager not only informed me that I would have to pay for the shipping but the fee was exhorbitant. When I again insisted, in a more assertive but still professional manner, that UPS should send the package expedited at no cost to my company he began sarcastically insulting me right there in front of other customers. Again, I dont remember the exact words but do remember his snarky tone and facial expression. I also recall that other customers expressions ranged from shocked to disgusted. Other UPS staff present looked embarrassed and stressed. Now I was definitely really angry but still not cussing him out or yelling. I said, Im going to get my son on the phone. Perhaps you will have more respect for the CFO of a multi-million dollar firm that just received a grant of $1 million from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This I remeber clearly: He sneered, Oh? Then they wont have any trouble paying the $125. Perhaps I should charge $350 to ship their precious package. Epibiome is a medical research company now merged with a Research Triangle Park firm.My son is always professional, calm, and respectful in his business dealings, even fractious ones. The manager got on the phone and actually started the conversation with, Hello, what can we do to deal with your histerical mom. Shes here in the store having a meltdown. My son politely informed him again of the details of their mishandling of the shipment, only to be countered with more abrasive sarcastic comments. I cant text those with accuracy because they sent me into a white out blizzard rage. I did nevertheless control my adrenalin fueled urge to use brute force where decency had failed to gain respect and fair compensation. So I took several very deep breaths and refrained from using my elderly 5 foot sort of almost fit slightly chubby body to leap over the counter and pummel his blobby unfit body and hideous face in an attempt to knock some adult consciousness into this toddler attitude moron.Instead, I brought my voice down to that quiet, seething through your teeth, calm, profanity- free, fake honey tone and informed him my company would regisyre a complaint with the UPS corporate office and never use their services again. Since this kind of situation apparently is widespread among UPS centers I guess it still has plenty of customers who take this type of obnoxious behavior and poor service as humorous or as regionally determined behavioral standards. UPS never responded to our complaint and we have used only Fed Ex or USPS since, with consistent quality, even friendly and accommodating service.
I do all of my notaries and shipping at this location and I have had a mailbox for around 5 years. Reuben is the most professional and pleasant shipping store manager I have ever worked with, and Ive worked with many in the past. I get all of my business done through this store, and every time I visit, it is quick and friendly.
I had a Dell laptop worth over $2300 diverted to this store since I was going to be out of town at the time of delivery. I went to the store when I returned to pick it up. They claimed I had already picked it up and showed me a signature that clearly wasnt mine. They cant be trusted. Im now waiting for UPS corporate to resolve this. The manager (owner?) was very rude and said that they verified the ID and this wasnt his problem. They either have leakage out the back door or arent paying attention to who they hand packages to.
Very disappointed to see that employees weren’t wearing masks or enforcing any social distancing measures. Felt very uncomfortable. I had to stop by Fedex after to pick up a package and it was the complete opposite (great service, masks, and posted policies on how they are protecting customers). Will be using fedex from now on.
I accidentally stumbled onto these reviews when I came here to verify today’s closing time. I have to disagree with the negative reviews. I’ve been using this location for many years and got 5-star service every time. Many times, I’ll bring my stuff to be shipped in a bag and they’ll box it and ship it. I’ve never had any problems (and that includes returning merchandise).
I had the exact same experience as the Sarah mentioned below me (so Im guessing the very rude reply to her comment was probably made by someone trying to cover up the horrible experiences here and that in fact her experience was just as she described it and not as it was rationalized in the reply).EDIT: I contacted Zappos to report this experience and was informed this is a scam and Zappos covers all costs in the situation where they give you a QR code to take to UPS for scanning. DO NOT LET UPS CHARGE YOU FOR A FREE SERVICE.Ive taken Amazon/Zappos packages to this location multiple times with QR codes to scan and return the packages and when the large man (apologies, as I also do not know his name) isnt working I have zero issues. Everyone is very nice and helpful. Well yesterday the large man was working and I tried having him scan my QR code for the return and he told me it would be a $3 charge for the FREE return. I guess for the hassle of printing the label? This was a surprise to me as I was just in there the week prior and wasnt charged for the label that was printed with my QR code and I mentioned this to me and he very rudely mentioned oh well I guess they were nice to you. This man is very rude on every occasion I see him in this store - I will now go out of my way to go to a different UPS location and avoid this one, and I would highly recommend others do the same.
Price Gouging for Tape(update 3/16/2018)Just came back from local FedEx location. They DO NOT charge to tape your boxes! Something to take into account.(original post)I brought in a TV box that needed the top taped. When I asked if the store could tape the box, they said they would for $3.00. The sales person said that 300 of 450 boxes brought in each day request tape and they use an average of 5 ft of tape. My box probably needed 10ft of tape. I paid, since I was at the store. I called the UPS Store corporate to get a refund. They contacted the owner who said that they would not give any refund.I checked at Amazon and a bulk 36 rolls of tape comes out to 0.6 cents per foot, making my tape use about 6 cents. This is a gouging charge making the store $891 per day (based on the information given to me from the salesperson). I am very unhappy with the charge and the response.
The colors on my printed items were not right. I was very unhappy and asked why, especially as Ive printed these exact same documents at a different UPS store before and have had no problems. The manager was also quite rude, and left me at the desk waiting for 15 mins while he went in the back to sort boxes and ignore my concerns. He told me it was not his problem and it was an issue with the online system and he wasnt going to help me. I will not be going back to this store.
So rude and unprofessional and definitely not practicing safe social distancing or mask wearing. I was trying to gather my belongings to get out of the way for the next customer and the employing is rushing me and calling over the next customer before I can safely move away.
I went to use the tape to shut my box when a woman told me they would charge me $2 to tape it shut. When I said that it is ridiculous and that at other locations they dont charge to shut your box. The boy at the counter muttered that maybe I should go to another location then. NOT a good representation for UPS!
Don’t book a notary appointment—their website doesn’t “sync” with their notary schedule. I drove 30 min out for an appt, which my husband and I both planned our days around, just to find out the notary wouldn’t be in for another 3 hours. Save yourself the time and money, and just go to Chase Bank for your notary needs.
People are dismissive and I always get an up charge from them remeasuting my packages higher than they were. I can have my packages in an 18x18x 12 box and they will up charge me for a 19x 18 x13! I. Ow go out of my way to go to another store. Avoid this one if you can

2021-11-20Mailed two boxes at the same time to the same address. I received two different tracking numbers. One box showed up and the other went missing. The packages contained discontinued electronics that were valuable to who I was sending to. I tried to file a claim for 3 months. I had to go back four times and kept getting told to come when the manager was in. Each time I was told to bring in proof of purchase or what the replacement items would cost. I took that in on my last visit and the manager told me he would call and he never did. I was given the 800 number for the UPS office and the tracking number for the missing package didn’t exist. It was never sent out and I never got refunded. I was labeled as a liar by the manager himself. I just gave up and will never do business with UPS or this mail office again. Absolutely horrible service and treatment.

2021-12-01This is my first review EVER!Have you ever watched construction workers? One is working, and five are watching. Thats what I observed at this UPS. An employee was drinking her drink while we waited in line, as one guy was helping a customer. I finally got her attention; she acted like I was inconveniencing her. I had a simple question, got it answered as well as a demanded to give her the boxes instead of offering to help. I have a service business and would starve if I treated my clients that way.

2021-02-09Seriously, the worst. I havent had a single positive experience. Bad customer service. This UPS store needs a technology update. The printers dont work. Apparently, there is a printer in the back, but a manager has to be there in order to use it. And, the manager is never there. Its worth the headache to drive the distance and go elsewhere.

2022-01-06I would give this place zero stars if I could. The same guy has always been extremely rude and has absolutely no customer service. He spoke to me extremely disrespectfully and treated me like I was a bother. I go in there happy and greet the employees with kindness and appreciation for what they do. This business is in my community and the only reason I ever go there is out of convenience. I will never set foot in here again.

2021-01-07I have been to a lot of UPS store and this store is the slowest and has the rudest associates. Especially, the guy with glasses and long hair. They should be trained again with how customer service works. I so agree with the other reviews before me.

2022-02-24Place is awful. Made an appointment for a notary. Showed up 5 mins early. Notary wasn’t there. They told me he could be back soon or maybe not. I would advise going elsewhere.

2020-09-03I rarely review places, but every experience I have had here has been very negative. The two people who work there seem to live in a different time zone, and are simply the slowest people Ive ever encountered. There is almost always a line, because they seem to lack basic organizational skills, and honestly dont seem to care. They walk away from the counter without explanation, go into the back, and mosey back without mentioning why, while there is a line of sometimes more than 6 people. The lack of professionalism is shocking, and saddening. I so want small business owners to thrive, but these people are so disconnected and have zero to no customer service experience that I am dumbfounded they still have customers. Ive read the business responses to negative reviews and there is one common theme: they blame the customer each and every time. Its a real shame that UPS allows this to occur. Its not just bad service, its appalling and you cant call it service. It feels like they think they are doing the customer a favor. What on earth?

2021-12-29Go anywhere else. The manager is so unhelpful. They don’t help you package literally anything, and after I put my labels on over 30 packages he decided to let me know a different kind of box would have been way cheaper. He even told me to go put my labels on the packages in my car??? Bizarre

2021-06-09My experience has been positive. This is a fairly small store, and they are often very busy with a line out the door (thus 4 stars instead of 5, and thats not their fault). I think that being so busy is likely the root cause of bad experiences rather than competence or care.

2019-07-31Extremely rude manager. I think his name is Reuben. I shipped some soda to a friend in Florida. It made it all the way to Jacksonville after three stops at different shipping facilities and then the delivery driver managed to destroy the package. I’m not upset that the package was destroyed because it was only worth $7, but the attitude I received from the manager was unacceptable. He told me that UPS doesn’t insure food products. That’s fine, but UPS can control how my package is handled, and obviously they toss packages around like luggage in a third world country. All I asked for was the $16 cost of shipping to be refunded to me. He said he’s only a franchise and UPS refused to allow for refunds. As a businessperson myself, I strive to make things right for my customers. This store doesn’t believe in that. For $16, Reuben caused UPS to lose my business for life.
